morality in fallout games
fallout 3: hmmm. is it bad to blow up the people you don't like?
fallout new vegas: every action has consequences, even actions you believe to be correct and that seem like the most straightforward way to improve society and free people from poverty and disease. war is hell and there are limits to how many problems can be solved with a revolver. every enemy you kill is someone's brother or daughter or lover, and you can't guarantee you won't meet that someone and have to stand by your decisions at some point. how strong is your conviction to do the "right" thing when you know that people you care about may hate you for it? how sure are you that your definition of "good" is more correct than someone else's? how often is your "good" really just the lesser of two evils? who are you to play god and decide what kinds of people deserve happiness more than others? would it be cowardly and wrong to remain neutral and detached when you hold the power to singlehandedly change everything? w
