I guess I love designing snowy survivors! This is another Design Challenge character from some months ago, the prompt was "Savage Assassin" so I made a mercenary hired to wipe out the subterranean species discovered underneath an ice planet colony.

Talk To Me About Worldbuilding - I wanted to try my hand at a cute little design, and I’ve been thinking a lot about worldbuilding lately. I borrowed a lot from my earlier pieces, and added some new stuff!
My original art made in Procreate, image description in alt text.

Art Vs. Artist. I didn't make much art this year, much less art that I was really happy with, but here it is.

I designed & modeled rings inspired by the double-slit experiment / wave-particle duality.
Printed, cast & available now via Shapeways.

For those unfamiliar, a simple summary:
In physics, quanta are "packets" of energy. For example, a photon is a discreet, measurable packet — a quantum — of light. If you fire a single photon through a divider with one slit, the resulting pattern on the detection screen is as expected: the mark of a single particle. But when the divider has two slits, things start to get interesting. Even if only a single particle is fired, the detector shows a wave diffraction pattern — that is, overlapping waves. That can only happen if a wave passed through both slits. A quantum of energy is both: a particle and a wave.

P.S. Don't worry, this isn't becoming a jewelry account! Or conversely if you followed because of these: thank you & sorry, this isn't a jewelry account! I make art in a variety of mediums — mostly digital & mostly about science.
