Yuu gives Vil a mimikyu as emotional support because of his idol life has many toxic fanatics charge the perfect idol created image and forget that he is a human being with limits and feelings and this Mimikyu will be the reminder and companion that he you will not need to hide his suffering behind his image as an idol. (And he has every excuse to create new disguises and accessories to spoil his little friend.)

I adore Mimikyu,it's one of my favorites, so I love this.

I think Vil would really empathize with Mimikyu, because it wants to be loved like Pikachu to the point it dresses like one. So I think Vil would really relate to that with his own reputation for playing villains and wanting to be seen as a good guy. So he is incredibly protective of Mimikyu. (I kinda want Vil to give them a nickname. Maybe Hilda or Hildie? From Grimhilde, the queens name. Idk just a thought.)

Even though Hildie is an emotional support pokemon,and is supposed to take care of Vil, not the other way around, Vil finds a lot of comfort in looking after her. Making her outfits/disguises, taking her on set, treating her to all the best Pokemon spas and treats. In a way it does help Vils reputation of being too pretty to be a relatable or normal guy. "How can you say Vil seems mean? Look at this picture of him and his Mimikyu! Can someone cold and snobby be this soft with their pokemon?" Also his fans adore Hildie. That's babey.
