deeply refreshing to see someone critical of Swift who also like, genuinely likes her. Like i'm neutral to positive on her, but the online discourse has been absolutely rancid. flipping between "Taylor Swift has never done anything wrong ever and she's a fucking genius" and "Taylor Swift is the worst lyricist of all time and also a bad person" is exhausting, so thank you for like. nuance or something lmao
not to make it serious for a sec but i genuinely think that being able to like things that are bad is really important. like I think that it's an important skill to be able to look at something and see what you personally enjoy about it and then take a step back and acknowledge that objectively it's flawed. and to also be able to acknowledge that liking something isn't necessarily an identity or a moral stance. and i think that fandom space in general could really benefit from more people taking the time to learn how to do that. it's okay to like things that are bad

I'm seeing many people saying things like: "Come on, it was too obvious... They look too much alike!" or "Why are you all surprised? They could be twins!".
To these sentences, I'll answer:
1/ We thought it was an on-going joke.
2/ Some of us may have suspected they were cousins/half brothers/twins/whatever but we never guessed it would be revealed as canon, in a movie, more than twenty years after.
3/ The manga is full of lookalikes. Ran and Aoko look alike, they could even be twin sisters if not for the different hair style. Does the fandom claim them to be family? Soshi Okita also looks like Shinichi. Even Hattori was able to disguise himself as Shinichi (ableit with a different hair style and make-up to clear his skintone). Does that mean they're family too? Gosho Aoyama is known for drawing characters with similar traits. You can't blame us for thinking Kaito and Shinichi looking like each other was nothing but a coincidence.

Look. I skim through episodes for Ran references. I skip through minutes worth of stuff if I'm confident Ran's not about to change outfit. But I am also only focused on Ran all the time. Which means I'm sorry animator who thought nobody would notice this single second frame of Ran missing her foot. I found it while trying to work out what shoes she was wearing. I was not expecting no feet at all but fair game you caught me out.

unprompted, she quickly moves to smack the back of dark's head( one should be impressed ! she had to jump up to reach him ! ) with a huff ! " don't be mad at me ! i'm a messenger--- today's violence against your person was a order from conan-san !"
@foolshoujo
it's hardly a classy sound that leaves him the instant he's hit . something between the choke of a cat whacked while hacking up a hairball and all the audible alarm of a spanked goose , none of it at all suited to any sort of impeccable phantom thief image . consider him impressed , all right --- by the sheer audacity .
as soon as she begins speaking , dark whirls about with nothing more than a vicious leer . obviously , it's irritating . the lingering sting and impact on the back of his ( daisuke's ) head . the complete and total lack of warning . the fact she wasn't particularly guilty or apologetic-seeming even though it was her palm and her palm alone turning red , all too eager , apparently , to accept orders from a snotty brat like conan .
is that how they were going to play ? his furious silence stretches out for even longer beneath a muttering growl . in the first place , he'd never retort with a smack of his own to deliver right back to her and "conan-san" both . he didn't hit girls . despite his every impression , he didn't want to consider himself particularly privy to violence in the first place .
no doubt that nemesis boy genius had that all figured out from the start , minus the trick of the curse . but the fact alone that dark is tempted to abandon his self-sworn oaths just for a moment is something he both bites into and holds himself back from , against , only serving to build up his directionless frustration all that much more . a quick hand ultimately snatches at her ear and pulls at it . authoritative , nigh parental .
' --- and if conan told you to jump off a bridge , would you do it ? that little brat is only five years old or something , you shouldn't be taking orders from him . ' grow up , in other words . ' ... otherwise , i'm getting a lawyer . '
