Camboy!Steve Harrington au, where Steve’s majorly successful and decides to treat his boyfriend, Eddie, like his sugar baby. He buys every nerd thing that Eddie expresses interest in.

Steve becomes a regular at the local gaming store, and every time there’s a new employee or customer who hasn’t met him yet, they’re going out of their way to flirt with him. He’s gorgeous AND he knows all about the things he buys? They are tripping over themselves to invite him to join their table top games. But he only knows about the products he buys (and why they’re important) because he loves listening to Eddie ramble on for hours about his interests, which older staff members and regulars know because they’ve heard Steve prattle on about his “baby.”

Even though it’s not his job to spoil Steve, Eddie wants to do it when he can. He loves his boy and the way he pampers him, so he wants to show Steve that he care about him too. So, using the allowance Steve gives him (because Steve insists on being the sole breadwinner so Eddie can focus on his creative talents), he goes to the farmers market to get the best and freshest ingredients he can find to make his boy’s favorite meals. There, he makes friends with all the grannies and the lesbians, trading recipes and gossip. It doesn’t hurt that that’s where his best friend, Chrissy works. She always hides something special for him behind the counter whenever she knows they have an important event or anniversary coming up.

He will also save some of his money up to by Steve special toys and lingerie for his videos. The fellas at the sex/smoke/CBD shop he always goes to are all making bets as to what type of person a guy like him is dating. One of the workers, Argyle, has a hunch that it’s an Only Fans streamer he subscribes to. After all, around a week after Eddie visits, the guy will post a video wearing similar lingerie or playing with similar toys to what Eddie had just bought. (Argyle only remembers his purchases because they spend a lot of time gabbing about this and that.) None of Argyle’s coworkers believe him when he posits his theory because although Eddie looks cool, he’s a total dork and could never pull someone like Steve. And if Argyle hadn’t been blazed out of his mind when it happened, he would have noticed a familiar looking tattooed wrist in the frame of one of Steve’s videos.

The QSMP is looking for smaller English-speaking streamers, so I figured I'd take the time to introduce qsmpblr to none other than Eric "Condi" Condifiction!!

Condi is an English-speaking Canadian who's a part of Just Roll With It (JRWI), the absurdly powerful dnd podcast he runs with his friends Bizly, Grizzly, and Slimecicle!! He plays several characters across their multiple campaigns, along with DM'ing his own campaign of Apotheosis. He plays/played Jay Ferin for Riptide, Rolan Deep for Blood in the Bayou, Sylnan Vengolor for Fated, Flynn Gustwind for Convergence, and Vyncent Sol for Prime Defenders. (plus something im probably forgetting whoops anyway)

He is insanely talented at rp and improv, with some of the more infamous and my favorite examples being episodes 53, 100, and 101 in JRWI: Riptide. The way he plays Jay Ferin is emotionally devastating and incredible, and she's genuinely brought me to tears multiple times. Though he plays his absolute heart out with every character he makes, she's just a neat example of his range and talent. Looking at the differences between Jay, the Navy's daughter, and someone like Rolan Deep, a lawyer returning to his hometown of Galloway to experience The Horrors™ is just wild man. Not to even mention everything he does with Vyncent and his multiple different characters inside him; along with everything he made for his own campaign of Apotheosis.

Something something charlie slimecicle calls him "God Gamer Condifiction." He's really good at video games dude I have no way to talk about this he just is its really scary honestly. On one of his more recent streams he went live playing Only Up! and he beat it in one go without any major setbacks, fast enough to refund the game and get all the money he spent on it back. Just for context.

He also has a background in minecraft roleplay specifically!! He was part of the SCU (Slimecicle Cinematic Universe) where he roleplayed several different characters. God!Condi and 100Days!Condi being the more defined ones. Everything he did in the SCU was nearly pure unscripted improv and incredibly impressive, and I highly recommend you go through and watch it!! (I go into detail on how to get into it on this post)

He doesn't just have background in the roleplay aspects of minecraft though, he was also briefly on SMPEarth and is skilled at regular minecraft too. He mainly strives at the roleplay aspects, but again the whole God Gamer Condifiction thing so ^_^

Overall I just really need my dnd guy to be in my favorite minecraft server so he can make so many SCU references with Charlie Slimecicle, then emotionally devastate us through the roleplay aspect. It was the best thing I could ever experience rn, I'm pretty much ascending. The fact that there was ANIMATION?? ON IT??? Martin is extremely talented I swear to god.

Personally I think a Lot of My questions we're kind of answered. Deffinetly not the "Where the hell is Jack?", No I'm Even more confused about that... I THOUGHT LIKE- FELIX GOT RID OF HIM OR SOMETHING I DIDN'T THINK HE WOULD TELL THEM WHAT HE DID? I honestly thought he would hide it and kill anyone who knew (he didn't need to they're all pretty dead). I honestly felt slightly Bad for him, HE DUG A HOLE FOR HIMSELF 😭. I swear I was SHOCKED- mouth open eyes wide type of stuff, I COULD FEEL HOW AWFUL HE FELT, He reeks of guilt, desesperation and actual negativo emotions, where before I honestly think he only transmited me the smell of alcohol or something; I deffinetly feel Bad for him now.

Okay so aside from the whole Felix thing here's a few things I really enjoyed/noticed:

So the whole animatronics moving around and facial recognition actually clear up a bunch of stuff for me, for instance: How the hell would Bon be able to tell who Sophie was. Also I was screaming for them to run whenever an animatronic was lowkey near, scary stuff.

AWOOPPPP TIME SKIP!! Or something skip I have no clue, Charles and Susan talking about Rocket being there. Rosemary and Jack did not know Félix was an alcoholic aparently, that explains why Jack would ever let him drive his children anywhere from somewhere there would be alcohol at.

Felix told Rosemary and Jack what happened which actually throws my "Oh yeah Felix deffinetly sent killer animatronics to kill his Best friend and his family so the business wouldn't crash" theory down the drain. Also Rosemary asking for the doll, I cannot imagine how devastated She would have felt, She does not deserve that.

Alright that was terrifying!! Scary imagery actually got me bit scared at atimes, which is good, the show keeps me on My toes.

if what i say pisses you off just keep scrolling mary i don’t have the energy to deal with negativity rn

so firstly i don't wanna talk abt how the new doctor regenerated okay that made absolutely no sense to me. idk why even 10 came back as well like ig donna's story was left "untold" ….but so is every other companion’s?

and idk how they split??? i really don't understand how they can do that but it’s aliens so whatever.

im also not gonna go into the christmas episode or the baby episode i...dont wanna relive that.

so!! i love the doctor i think he’s so fun and hip and his style is amazing.

personally i think the fact that he doesn’t have a set outfit is bc he’s trying to figure out who he is, which is always so exciting as the viewer going on this journey with him.

and ruby is awesome as hell!! low key fuck you writers for not making her a lesbian ( i mean she has the eyebrow slit and everything you should be ashamed).

also cool background story i love that she's interesting and a mystery. plus when villains are like "who...are you" that's always so dope.

i think that the "family" of the different "gods" is really cheesy but GOD i loved jinx they did so fucking amazing their performance was everything. i want them to act in every show ever honestly.

with that being said.. that episode specifically wasn’t my favorite, it was a cool concept but idgaf abt the beetles so 😭

and in that episode when the doctor ran away and hid?? that was new to the doctor that we know and i was like “yeah let’s go we’re gonna watch his character develop!”

so you would think it would build up to some sort of solution bc the doctor is tryna figure out who he is and that's gnarly love it

….then they DIDNT?

they didn't do anything with that?!?? at least that i was able to notice?

okay but after the jinx episode the rest of the episodes were actually fierce!

the landmine one had some really cool dialogue moments especially with the bickering like love i'm obsessed. ruby was also really cool and i love how much she cares about the doctor and how she wasn’t scared. i think that says a lot about her character. not to mention i think having her so in awe of the planets was a really good choice bc that reaction is so human and i love it.

buttttt the other characters were like mad infuriating which may have been the point? and throughout the episode it was so tense and nerve racking but the end was so anticlimactic. i loved the idea, and i loved that the dad was able to save the day (even tho i wanted the doctor to save the day but whatever) but i wanted MORE. i wanted the doctor and ruby to go into town, or to see the government and face them and call them out on the war! the fact that it was in one area the entire episode was just not it, me no likey.

the ruby centered episode was AWESOME.

that one was so unsettling (in a good way) and it was sooooo cool to see her like basically save the world and then she dies but BOOM they're back when the episode first started. i loved it, so peak doctor who timey wimey stuff

even tho i'm still a little confused as to if the lady was ruby? but whatever i still really enjoyed it i honestly have no cons on this episode it displayed what kind of person she is perfectly.

next, the bridgerton episode was fun! love the gayness they even kissed and they flirted it was so fierce. and ugh ruby’s character just keeps getting better and better honestly shes so fun and it’s so easy to root for her.

…but… the dialogue wasn’t good in this episode….at all. especially having the aliens say the word ‘cosplay’ took me out of the fantasy completely

also side note but not really-

what always impressed me growing up watching doctor who was that even back in 2005 the alien makeup was always so FIERCE like cunty boots down house houston bc it's makeup centric!

it also allows talented people to show off their skills and add really personal features to the actors who are playing the aliens. but nowadays they rely on the cgi so much that it just doesn’t seem believable and honestly it doesn't look good anymore. like mentioned before with makeup you can use the actor’s features to your advantage which creates the perfect illusion.

makeup + a LITTLE bit of cgi is the way to go and i don't get a fuck if it's more expensive ur a fucking successful ass company you have the money now USE IT

the episode itself was good until the very end when rouge sacrificed himself and then the doctor was like "i move on that's what happens" like bruh

by having him say that, it honestly makes you think that all of the losses the doctor has endured is just moments of his past, and that he’s moved on

like no i want the doctor to be angry, to be motivated!!

and that's what i think this doctor lacked.

there was no motivation or drive for him, which is so fucking stupid bc the actor is amazing.

the episode that ended with the doctor experiencing racism for the first time…you can tell that the actor put his whole heart and soul into his performance (especially the scream). he was unleashing a whole new part of his doctor and it was absolutely perfect.

so why not use that to give the doctor more motivation, more anger? seeing the doctor not being able to move on, to be selfish at times bc that makes him feel human. which would make sense BC!! he has spent so much times with humans and earth is important to him.

moving on; one of the biggest things that made this season an issue was that they cried every. single. episode.

when you only get something every once and a while it makes that thing so much more precious. the doctor only cries like once a season, and when he does it's like actually thrilling bc you don't get that side of him a lot.

and usually it's with a lot of anger bc the doctor is angry!! we've been through how many seasons of the doctor suffering?? i mean the man literally blew up his own planet. he's been thru the ringer.

there are so many episodes of the doctor not having the best morals, of him letting the villain die bc of his own selfish intentions. he's not supposed to be a hero, and i think that’s also what makes the doctor so compelling.

another con was the dialogue. one of my biggest tv / movie turn offs is when they say what they’re doing. and not in the super impressive like monologue way but in the simple way of being like "i'm cooking" like mary yeah i see you doing that??

and this season used that a lot. and again NOT in the cool monologue saving the day way speaking of that, no cool monologues? none? nada?

the best part of doctor who is when the doctor goes against all odds and saves the day with that sexy smirk and has the coolest monologue with the kick ass music in the back and during it gives you goosebumps! it also allowed the actor to put forth a lot of emotion into their performance and allowed them to build who their doctor is.

despite all of that, i did really enjoy the episode with ruby growing old and the racism episode. the fact that they didn’t have to say it was perfect and i think was a really good choice bc it was a surprise factor, especially with the doctor’s reaction. when they brought in a random character to save the day and him be so unlike the rest of his race and then kill him is always gonna be classic trope, bc my sister and i were GAGGED. perfect, absolutely perfect.

however. the season finale can go fuck itself.

UNIT is so cheesy now, and it feels so unreal and silly which i think is stupid. they’ve had this facility for so long so the fact that it is unserious now is lame. it feels really fake whenever they're trying to be serious and sciency, which is not the way to go when ur a literal army based facility.

anyways back to the season finale-yeah it was cool to have a throwback especially with the fact it was “the one who waits” that was gnarly! however,,, when sutukh whatever his name was literally kills the entire universe…it didn't feel like it??? it happened so quickly it didn't have that shock value it was supposed to and i was actually confused.

i did love the throwback to the ruby episode so it made you feel like it was tying that together which is nice!! give them some recognition yay!!

now let’s talk abt the whole plot with Ruby’s birth mother.

the build up of her real mother i mean it's been every episode when they mentioned it. in the first part where they were in the time window, that was giving me the creeps! i loved that it was scary and confusing and i couldn’t wait to figure it out!

so when the birth mother of ruby, the woman that even the god of death was infatuated with, the woman that the doctor couldn't figure out, the woman that was stuck in some sort of time thingy…………..is just a regular woman? its just some teenager who got knocked up and gave away her kid? that's it?

i've been getting edged this entire fucking season just for this?

if you enjoyed that it was a regular person i get it! it’s a throwback to whenever the doctor made his speech about how no one is ever just unimportant, which i do love and appreciate.

the whole reason she's important is bc the unknown is the most powerful thing which honestly i agree. my biggest fears are always the unknown. so yes absolutely i get it….but….are you...are you kidding me?

and then ruby leaves? ruby is done traveling with the doctor? i just. ugh.

there was so much potential and i’m just so empty now.

yes it had its cool moments, but im honestly so heartbroken and disappointed with how it turned out like, some bitch on tumblr could have written this season better than this.

i really really really hope the next season is better, at this point it’s just the writing. so get it together writers!! Ncuti is a phenomenal actor he is so fun and his range is so raw and captivating. not to mention Ruby! i’m really sad she’s leaving so soon, she was really fun and complimented the doctor well.

i can’t wait to see what’s next, and honestly no matter what i’m gonna watch doctor who bc it’s so special to me <3

♛ Serana is right-handed. For reference, Vigdis is left-handed. I don't know I think it's cute--

♛ Because of her vampirism, she's cold to the touch.

♛ Serana doesn't even know how old she is exactly, so she just guesses that she was locked up in Dimhollow for over a millennia. However, she was turned around the age of 27.

♛ And, because of all that time spent in Dimhollow and her vampirism, Serana cannot sleep, which makes her perfect for keeping an eye out for danger during the night. [Vigdis would never tell her she appreciates it]

♛ In game she has an elven dagger, but I personally [in my fanfiction] gave her an ebony one. She later obtains Mehrunes' Razor.

♛ Due to her deep involvement with Daedric cults, she's actually quite knowledgeable on all of the Princes and their artefacts.

♛ She finds the sound of ocean waves and the smell of the salty sea comforting. And also that old, musty, dusty library smell. Ancient pages in leatherbound books and such and so forth.

♛ Her handwriting is elegant and slanted. It was imperative that she had neat handwriting when growing up.

♛ Serana really enjoys painting. She's not very good at sketching or people; rather, she has an eye for dramatic landscapes.

♛ She's very interested in architecture. Living in a really cool castle has always given her appreciation for complex structures.

�� She frequented the library at Volkihar Keep often. Most of the books in the library actually have handwritten notes and doodles in the margins, showing just how much time she spent reading books.

♛ As a Daughter of Coldharbour, her Vampire Lord form is unique to her, and therefore she and her mother are ranked above Harkon, who did not have to suffer the same ritual as them.

♛ Referring to the last bullet, Serana has been a Daughter of Coldharbour for over a millennia. She can never fully purge the vampirism from her body--thus, when she is cured, she can still cast vampiric-esque spells . . . and flecks of glowing persimmon are still persistent in her irises.

♛ Because of her mother, Serana is really good at alchemy, but she prefers to focus her skills and talents on necromancy--which she can, on occasion, be cocky about.

♛ Although the Volkihar Clan owns dogs, she's actually more of a cat person.

♛ As a vampire, she can't really eat. She can handle small pieces of meat, but otherwise her diet is purely blood-based until she's human again.

♛ Serana is capable of blushing--it's just a lot more subtle compared to a human. When she's cured, of course, her blush will be more noticeable.

♛ The Forgotten Vale was her favourite place to visit, followed closely by Ancestor Glade.

♛ As a free-spirited person, Serana was never interested in taking over the Volkihar Clan, or being in any kind of leadership role. She prefers the freedom of travelling across Tamriel and exploring the world.

♛ She's a lesbian. To me. I'm not sorry. Vampires have NEVER been heterosexual EVER. They have been GAY since their INCEPTION and I intend to keep it that way goddamnit

Pauline Rhune

She's sort of a tsundere yandere, she expects you to be able to just know that dumbass is a term of endearment for her. You might occasionally get her to be honest with her feelings on late nights when she's tired but for the most part you won't get a crumb out of her. She's very sadistic to anyone who she perceives as a threat to your relationship and unlike the others she'll also punish you for not picking better company. Never anything too severe but if you really push it then you'll remember how much of a bully Pauline can be.

♡ "Idiot can't even remember my name. Like do I have to spell it out for you? P-a-u-l-i-n-e R-h-u-n-e. We're literally like the biggest family in the academia." ♡

The Rhunes run the magic academy in the kingdom though Pauline herself can't use normal magic. The Rhune's became embroiled in the academy when their distant ancestor began to study why Rhune's tend to be extremely possessive of their lovers, more so than most in the kingdom normally are. Pauline's field of study is curses, which is the only thing she can cast primarily.

♡ "I'm 26 you freak, god why can't you remember anything today? Do you need your head checked or something?" ♡

She was supposed to get her title and inheritance at 22 but she never met her darling so her parents refused to give it until they were sure she was ready for it so she needs a darling to prove she's ready for the responsibility. She's also very worried that you keep asking things about her, she wants you to be able to remember everything about her cause you're important to her.

♡ "Women if it isn't already obvious, idiot." ♡

She's a lesbian also she would flick you on the forehead for asking when you should know she likes you.

♡ "Ugh you keep asking dumb shit today. I have no job currently cause my family won't like give over my title already, you should know this, dumb dumb." ♡

At the current moment she can only study at the magic academy but once she gets her title she'll likely be an assistant royal mage or perhaps dean of the academy, really whatever life style suits her and her darling more at that point in time.

♡ "I uhm oh- you like actually want to know what things I like? Well I'm like major into curses and shit like that, y'know. I also, likeyourdumbface. Don't ask me to repeat what I said again." ♡

She's extremely diligent with her job which is why she's desperate for the title so she can begin the next step in her studies. She also really enjoys bullying people, even her own darling is not safe from this.

♡ "You're really talkative today, is this gonna be like a permanent thing? You're sort of giving me a major headache. If you have to know, I hate losers." ♡

Don't worry she doesn't think of you as a loser and she loves hearing you speak. She isn't a fan of people since compared to her most of them are losers who are fine coasting by off of their nobility instead of using their nobility to actually do something cool. She's not a fan of clerics since they can dispell her curses and usually she gets reprimanded for cursing someone if they find out. It's not a harsh sentence but she still feels like she should be able to curse whoever she wants.

♡ "I'm like pretty smart if that's what you're asking? I mean shouldn't it be obvious that I'm brimming with talents? There's no need to ask what I'm good at since I'm totally amazing anyways." ♡

She's very talented at cursing people and convincing people to be her lackeys. She knows how to find the right person for the right task which is how she found you to pretend to be her darling in front of her family, unfortunately for her she was too good at finding a fake darling since the fake became real quickly.

♡ "Come on, we've been meandering too long, they'll be like totally pissed if you keep them waiting any longer." ♡

I mean at the end of the day I’m lesbian lol, I saw that one Break the Ice cg and I was like 👀

Like yes, I love a woman in a suit, especially if she’s strong and quiet, and I like the horns. They gave some great attention to her gloves in that reveal video, which was hot bc gloves are really sexy, and I’m glad they’re letting her be tall.

But you know, Arknights character designs are fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but me personally, it’s the way they interact with the character’s personality that makes me feral.

Like, take Hoshiguma.

She’s big, she’s cool and strong, she’s intimidating, I love the leather, you can tell she probably rides a bike. But what makes her really hot to me is that she’s also chill and gentle and protective and loyal. She’s steadfast, she’s even-keeled, she’s stable. She’s just so sturdy—physically, emotionally, and in her presence in a relationship.

You can imagine being your best with her supporting you—being safe, being cared for, being mentally and emotionally stabilized by her presence. And consequently being able to relax and open up be soothed. And she probably has really big hands so like. Haha. Yeahhh.

But also, there’s some delicious complexity too—it’s not all selfless, she depends on the presence of the people she cares for and her ability to protect them for stability. There’s a powerful devotion, but also a desperation in it that reveals itself when that bond is threatened. There’s a lot of texture there.

So yeah. Tall muscular oni woman is nice, but I’m kind of desensitized to that with how many talented artists there are designing and re-designing hot women on the Internet—plenty of character designs are even more powerful than that. It’s seeing her character vividly through that which gives me the vapors.

So Degenbrecher, as excellent as her design is—we haven’t gotten enough for me to be interested in her like that just yet. As far as BTI goes, Ratatos was the one that totally stole the show for me.

So I’m very excited to see Degenbrecher get fleshed out. I’m not rabid about her yet, but I’m sure they’re going to stick the landing.

Birdie Wing is one of the most absurd, hilarious, and entertaining anime that I’ve ever seen!! Mafia that solves infighting by betting on highly illegal golf matches, golf eugenics, a high school golf tournament feeling like a more high-stakes event than the ACTUAL GODDAMN MAFIA… It’s incredibly campy in the best way possible, and the creators embrace the wild premise of the show with open arms. It’s masterful in suspension of disbelief, as by the end of the series I was nodding my head, thinking that truly, everything is possible with the power of golf. The series also has heavy yuri overtones, which, while not quite pulling through in the end, are definitely a big part of the appeal, and Aoi is my favorite lesbian daughter <3

Trigger Warnings: Guns, Child Abuse. Mother is manipulative to her daughter, and she is used as a tool. Father arranges an unwanted marriage for his daughter.

#G4: Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! (Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!)

Summary:

Midori Asakusa draws detailed landscapes and backgrounds of both the world around her and the one within her boundless imagination. Even the simple act of doodling on a wall evolves into an emergency repair on the outer hull of her spaceship. She is only brought back to reality by her best friend Sayaka Kanamori. The two are stark opposites, with Asakusa’s childlike wonder contrasted by Kanamori’s calculated approach to life.

After a chance encounter where the two “save” the young model Tsubame Misuzaki from her overprotective bodyguard, a connection instantly sparks between Asakusa and Misuzaki, as both share an intense passion for art and animation. Whereas Asakusa is interested in backgrounds and settings, Misuzaki loves drawing the human form. Sensing a money-making opportunity, Kanamori suggests that they start an animation club. Thus begins the trio’s journey of producing animation that will awe the world.

Propaganda:

It’s playing with animation in a really cool way, AND it is just gorgeous. The backgrounds are done in a beautiful painterly style, and each environment is detailed and evokes wonder.

Each of the three girls is a unique and fleshed-out character, and their interactions and blossoming friendship are super fun and wholesome to watch. The dialogue is also very realistic—it really feels like what three high school nerdy girl friends would talk about. Each has her own strengths, in animation, organization and craft, such that they really come together as a team and manage to make something beautiful.

The show is fun, heartwarming and doesn’t take itself too seriously, but at the same time it is so so sincere. Quiet and serious moments can be quiet and serious without needless bathos, and fun sequences (like a chase through the school) are given extra effort to be zany and funny, and fully animated in both senses of the word. Above all, you feel a strong love for animation and deep wonder of the world permeating the series.

mean girls (2024)

fine. FINE. it is time to discuss mean girls (2024) bc i can't stop thinking about it and i had a severe mean girls the musical phase in 2018 and 2020 two separate times. and also i took notes watching the movie last night. so now you are all subject to hearing them. spoilers, obvi. (under the cut, of course)

i think it should be noted here that i also have Thoughts and Feelings on the bway musical. so if anyone wants to know those... moving on.

it's a movie-musical adapted from the stage musical adapted from the 2004 movie adapted from a BOOK called Queen Bees and Wannabes released in 2002. now that that's out of the way:

the good:

the sets are so much fun in the movie. the musical is like. a few desks and tables and a bed that all move and then. screens. i missed real sets. so much

opening the musical with janis and damien recording the video in the garage and having their narration work like that worked sooooo well. and then of course ending in the garage was very fun.

speaking of janis and damien, these are my favorite versions of janis and damien. auli'i and jaquel KILL IT as janis and damien.

angourie's cady (acting-wise) is really good. really cute and naïve and it feels authentic as a transition from new kid cady to plastic cady.

i also don't mind the changes to apex predator. i think auli'i and jaquel killed it and i think it works! i like the choreo too where everyone is acting animalistic (re: this is Girl World in the og movie) except regina.

avantika and bebe wood are also really great as gretchen and karen. this might be my favorite version of karen. ily karen shetty.

LOVE this version of someone gets hurt. i love regina controlling the atmospehere around her and literally becoming the apex predator. the partygoers don't move unless she allows it, and even planning cady's reaction (which is. gayer than expected) is so good.

CONTROVERSIAL TAKE? i prefer the story behind the pyro-lez thing. i never liked the space dyke story in the musical and i thought it was weird (though i prefer them calling her a space dyke because it's supposed to be mean. ya know)

im saving this for this bullet point bc every other bullet point would've been about but i've been a fan of renee's regina for forever now, so being able to see it outside of broadway and outside of shaky bootlegs is a blessing.

after regina eats shit at the talent show, during the social media montage, you can briefly hear the intrumental version of world burn, and i think thats cool.

SOMEONE GETS HURT (REPRISE) you will always be famous. i am so sorry they didn't put you on the soundtrack

damien on the jazzy will forever be funny. it's better than the og movie. i will stand by this.

also the background/looming beat of world burn like a second after janis gets done singing + the looming threat of regina's revenge is very cool.

OH world burn is very awesome in this bc. duh. of course it is. but what really stands out to me is that it's like apex predator again where everyone is acting like animals and reginas above it all (bc she did this lmao). another thing is the transition between one of the high notes to regina fake crying in mr duvalls office. that was so slay.

the reginald joke is my fave in the whole musical and im so glad they kept it. it makes me giggle every time.

canon lesbian janis imi'ike i love you.

the bad:

i miss all of the songs. give me back It Roars, Where Do You Belong, the entirety of Meet the Plastics, the What's Wrong with Me reprise, FEARLESS! and Whose House is This, More is Better, and Do This Thing!! GIVE THEM BACK TO ME!!! PLEASE!!! OH my god and Stop. jaquel would've blown this out of the water i just know it.

i miss the jokes about mrs george and her boob job. that shit was hilarious.

i don't care for cady's pov in revenge party in this one. those who have seen it Know.

i also miss the "NO! THEY'RE BOTH IN THE COSTUME!" that shit killed me. absolutely hilarious.

the musical (bway edition) actually did cut some of the iconic scenes from the movie, but i think this movie would've benefitted from adding them back in. give me the "we should totally just stab caesar!" line.

i hate Rockin Around The Pole. so fucking much. i hate it in the broadway version and i hated it in this. i hate this song so fucking much.

chris briney. that's all. he's got about as much personality as a wet piece of paper. get a different aaron.

even the broadway musical is like, actually mean. it still pales in comparison to the og movie. this movie could have done a little more to stand out from the actual musical and the og movie. idk. it could've said something. but if you walked into this movie and expected it to say something then that's on you. sorry.

this isn't something that needs to be categorized but i miss cady's inner monologue. it's very obvious in the movie but she's even got these cute little asides in the musical that i WISH they would've kept. like: "it seems kinda bad to spy on someone, but they're the first friends i've got, and i don't want to have none." is so much fun and gives cady so much character and i love it so much. erika henningsen is my favorite variation of cady. she's believable as both nerdy cady and plastic cady. also she's so, so funny. (honestly i think they should've brought her back for cady's songs in this musical. sawry. i don't think they should've replaced angourie bc i really like her cady But.)

another cute and quirky thing that i like from the musical that isn't in the movie (because it would be really hard to pull off) is that mrs heron/mrs george/mrs norbury are all played by the same actress.

anyway that's all i have to say about mean girls (2024). in my (completely unprofessional) opinion, they should've literally just adapted the actual musical script if they wanted to make this so bad. or released a pro-shot with renee as regina and this cast or something. they should've gone all out campy musical with this one instead of trying to market it as a remake bc it's not Really a remake. like it Is but it's Not.

JJDolls! Top Bakugan Brawlers turned idols, Jazz and Jewel (stage names) were 7th and 8th on the national leaderboards, respectively, before getting picked up by a studio and leaving the battlefield to become the worlds' most famous pop stars!

Jazz (Jimena Cruz Reyes), 24, she/they, lesbian, 5'3'', filipino, Subterra

Jewel (Ganga Thakur), 22, she/her, pan, 5'6'', indian, Aquos

During their battling days, the two of them ran a vlog that showed their lives as top 10 brawlers, which really showcased both their talents but more importantly, their charisma in front of a camera. There was a very quick moment where they were more popular than the actual top 5 in the brawling community, and when they released their first song, that was when they left the brawling community behind to pursue mainstream fame.

Of course they found it! But they never forgot their Bakugan origins, and every year during the Bakufest they are a guaranteed event and very very rarely you can catch the two of them battling. Even after dropping from the leaderboards, it seems like their skills have not diminished.

Rumors of their relationship have always surrounded the pair, especially because it seems like they never fight alone. It came as no surprise when the two of them announced that they were dating, and are hailed as celebrity culture's least toxic couple (mostly because they can actually keep their private lives separate.)

jazz's color palette was inspired by maud from my little pony lmao, i thought she was cool

jewel's hair was really giving sailor neptune so I made her Aquos. In the show their attributes are switched BUT I wanted them to match their attributes and it's not like you would remember their attributes anyway

they are both transgender

jazz is named jazz because in my muddled memory i couldn't remember jenny's name.

I wanted to call this out in case people didn't notice, but their earrings match the other's eyes! also their hair/eye colors are slightly inverted.

i asked my indian friends to give a name to Jewel, since i wanted an indian name that wasn't generic (like i searched up indian baby names on google lmao) but also realistic. they settled on ganga thakur. ganga is a hindu goddess of purification with a river named after her (ayo water symbology). seems like indian last names usually denotes a caste which is a bit too loaded for my tastes, but both my friends and my personal research say that it's generally upper class. the two of them also reacted very positively at the name so there we go.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

How powerful she is! In my opinion they ruin Azula's character in the comics and in the Last Agni Kai it's obvious she should have won but they make her loose just for plot purpose and stuff so I will ignore this last chapter and the comics when I talk about Azula.

Despite what I just mentioned Azula's is hell powerful physically and with her bending. She's a soldier kid and has been training since a young age so it's comprehensible how strong she is and also that she has a great strategic mind, definitely not want to fight against her. Also she has her fire blue which means her fire burns hotter than any other else which means she's the most powerful fire bender in the world (not counting Avatars).

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

My least favorite thing it's making her crazy in the comics like WTF. Yeah guys she had hallucinations and mental problems but that doesn't mean she must be crazy. The creators just wrote her in an asylum where they treated her poorly when they should have help her gettin better. Also Azula is a strong character not only physically but mentally because even if she broke after Mai and Ty Lee betrayed her she has suffered a lot since she was a child and still manage to show compassion to her brother an tried to win her father's love, so I think Azula despite feeling weak because of the hallucinations she would make all possible efforts to recover and get better not just let herself being in that bad mental state, it's just doesn't fit her character at all.

12. What's a head canon you have for this character?

My head canon for Azula is that she's left-handed. In my mind the idea is that being left-handed well seen in the society specially if it's a member of the Royal Family (this is also happened here in our world, like my grandma was left-handed and make her learn to change her dominant hand to the right one. In fact the word "sinister" comes from the latin word "sinistrum" which meant "left" but in the actually we changed the meaning). So Ozai in order to make her use her right hand as her dominant one broke her left hand and after that Azula learns to use her right hand. BUT unconsciously she use her left hand to draw because that's her inner talent and also when she acts listening to her heart and not her mind she uses her left hand and I find it cute.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're written for this character? What's something you don't like?

I like to write her being the smartest person in the room and make her notice things that no one could ever do that and just act like if it was the simple thing in the world when it actually wasn't. I also like writing her as a lesbian disaster that can't articulate a proper sentence when she's talking the girl she likes because that makes her adorable in my opinion.

I don't like to write her suffering because she suffered enough in the show just to keep suffering in my stories hahaha, but sometimes I only come with angst for her because it's just so easy.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

So talking about relationship as a family connection I don't like her canon relationship with Zuko because I feel they both really loved each other (as siblings ofc) but never care enough to show it and make an effort to have a good relationship and I find that really sad because it would have been amazing seeing both finally have a good sibling relationship and be the most cool, powerful, silly and awkward sibling duo.

Rewatching Little Women 2019 remake because it's the right period for it and watching some interviews with Greta Gerwig and the cast, I'm struck try the absolute refusal of straight women to acknowledge that a woman whose creation/work they enjoyed was actually a lesbian. In this instance: Louisa May Alcott.

Greta Gerwig is obviously talented, educated and intelligent. She must know this yet she states over and over that Louisa May Alcott never married and never had kids. Yeah. BECAUSE SHE WAS A LESBIAN.

The word lesbian never passes her lips. A supposedly feminist film, directed by a woman, with a cast comprised of mostly women. Yet saying lesbian is still taboo. 

Sespursongles said it best and I will quote her:

“But of course there are also lots of very talented lesbian writers, the problem being then that no one acknowledges them as lesbians, because lesbophobia — or they don’t want to be recognised as “lesbian writers” as it might kill their career. The “lesbian lit is crap” belief doesn’t hold when we know that many gifted artists and writers in history were lesbians, but 1) you can’t point it out because all nonlesbians would start obsessively dissecting their lives to prove het attraction, and 2) of course they couldn’t apply their gift to writing about lesbians (or themselves) because then they would never have become literary figures; only bihet people are allowed to write about their experience. This might have created in some cases a kind of catch-22 where the talented lesbian writers who knew they had a chance of making it big didn’t write about lesbian stuff because that might have killed their chances, while the less-gifted writers who knew they weren’t likely to become great literary figures were the ones who wrote lesbian stuff since they weren’t afraid of having something bigger to lose.”

In this case, there’s the added bonus that Jo is clearly Louisa May Alcott herself (self-insert) and if LMA had had her say, Jo would have remained a spinster (aka a lesbian) but a lot of straight women identify with her character because she is the most interesting, complex and frankly cool character in the book. Nobody is identifying with boring Meg who only wants to get married and pop babies, that’s for sure. 

So admitting that Jo is lesbian-coded would mean for straight women that they can longer project themselves onto/identify with Jo. Because god forbid they would identify with a lesbian. 

No way. 

This reminds me of the shitshow that occurred a few years ago with the movie Ammonite and how FURIOUS straight feminists were that Mary Anning had been turned into a lesbian. The horror. Granted, we don’t know whether Mary Anning was a lesbian. The fact is, she never married. 

Which was het feminists’ entire reasoning: why don’t we let her be single! why can’t women be single! Why does romance always have to be pushed on women! blablabla

Meltdown ensues.

Hum. Funny you’re all saying that when you never choose that life for yourself. You know: the single, childfree life. Funny you’re now super invested that a woman who is considered to be the first paleontologist and who never married should apparently remain single because she is being portrayed as a lesbian in one movie that you will never watch anyway. 

It’s almost funny how they can’t hide their prejudice and lesbophobia when it’s clear that the default for them should be heterosexuality and what bothered them so much was the lesbian representation.
