The Toys Are Back In Town! 🤠🚀

After seeing a first look of Toy Story 5, I decided to draw these three!

The movie is in the works, but it will be released around 2026… but hope this won’t be a disappointment!

Showing more sketches I’ve done a while back. Didn’t have the time to post it here as I’ve been busy with college :)

Just a couple of Woody drawings, Bo Peep (or Betty for the latinos like me hehe) and what could have been if Woody also joined the hug with Jessie soon as Buzz came back to his normal self in TS3. (would have been cuter because of their friendship but whatevs haha)

10 years from today, Toy Story of Terror aired on TV for the first time.

There’s one underrated thing about Woody and Buzz as a duo, especially in the first movie that I really want to point out.

So we all know Buzz’s whole deal in the first is that he’s a toy that thinks he is an actual space ranger, right ? He thinks is the real Buzz Lightyear, and act like heroic space cop would : stern, altruistic,dare-devil, etc. Even after he realizes he’s a toy, he still keeps to the space hero persona, using sci-fi lingo and such.

Meanwhile, Woody has the opposite problem : he knows he’s a toy, but he doesn’t react like a cowboy would.

I grew up watching Steve McQueen movies and reading Lucky-Luke and Blueberry  comics, so i think got a rather clear-ideaof how a coyboy hero acts : a Cowboy Hero is brave, an one-army, quiet but quick-witted, calm under pressure, rough-and-thumble but still a bit classy, doesn’t show a whole of emotion. Cowboy heroes of old are like the Epitome of American Masculinity.

And oh boy Woody doesnt fit the description at allt. He’s wimpy, he yells, he whines, he cries, and he’s a motor-mouth.

Part of it might be that behind the scenes, Woody was thought up as random ventriloquist dummy first and the cowboy persona came much later in the process. He first role is to be the Everyman. Another explanation would be that unlike Buzz, who came up with his own backstory and univers written on his toybox, Woody was just seen and saw himself as a random cowboy doll. In the first movie, Woody being a cowboy is a cosmetic thing, he could have looked like a Mayor, or a Fire-fighter or anything else, what mattered is that he was Andy’s favourite toy.

There is something really funny about Pixar putting the role of Manly Man Cowpoke into an insecure ragdoll (a type of toy mostly  destined to little girls btw) who can’t even stand on its own.

And even when Woody becomes braver and adventurous at the end of Toy Story 1, it’s only during 2 that he starts to really lean into his cowboy persona, mainly because this time, we meet the Roundup’s gang and got a clearer look at Woody’s history. This is the movie where Woody starts acting a cowboy of old, riding his stead, lassoing objects and saving the girl.

All culiminates in 3 where Woody keeps in the role of Cowboy Hero -while still true to his own self, qualities and flaws-

So when Andy describes him as “brave, smart, like a cowboy should be” we believe him.

“Know what ?” “Nothing buzz”

Am I the only one that wished Pixar went with the Woody x Jessie over the Bo x Woody and Buzz x Jessie Idea?

You’re not alone, trust me. I’ll forever be mad that Woody and Jessie didn’t get together.

Like ok Bo and Woody were kinda cute in the first movie, but we barely saw them together. I appreciate the writers trying to give Bo a personality in the fourth movie and giving us more depth to the relationship, but I felt like it was too late for me as a viewer. And don’t get me started on Buzz and Jessie. I love Buzz but him being all flustered around Jessie got on my nerves. And Jessie had so much more chemistry with Woody.

That little glimpse of Husband!Joel and his wife Easter got me thinking, what about Halloween? It wouldn’t surprise me if they did a family-themed costume. What do you think, maybe some Disney/Pixar like Toy Story or Star Wars, or perhaps to keep with the season they would go after Ghostbusters? Or a totally different thing? It might be a silly question but the Pedro Pascal Fandom Bingo gave me the last push to ask, lol! Lots of love!♥️

I think Javier would despise dressing up for Halloween because honey, people respect me in this town, let’s not jeopardize that. However, he wouldn’t refuse it completely, and especially not when he has small, excited children, so he finds a loophole of dressing up as e.g. Superman with the supersuit peeking out from underneath his regular work shirts. Maybe he’ll dress up as Mr. Incredible but the version where he forgets to take his mask off in the church. Or as a sheriff. Or maybe he’ll go as far and allow Wife to put him in a Han Solo costume.

Inés doesn’t have patience for family costumes! She wants to be a princess zombie, a vampire witch in pink or a pirate that knows karate. Something that doesn’t make sense.

Lucas, Seb and Wife ALWAYS match. They go all out. If Lucas is Batman, Wife is Catwoman (this choice is praised loudly by Javier) and Seb is The Penguin. If Lucas is Mario, Wife is Luigi and Seb is Bowser. If Lucas is Buzz Lightyear, Wife is Mrs. Potato Head (and tries to make Javier dress up as Mr. Potato Head because you already have the mustache, however chooses Jessie when her husband refuses) and Seb is Woody.

(Also I assumed you meant husband!javi and not joel)

🌕 You were a member of Woody's crew. Woody's roundup The town had a lot of crime going on, and you were usually in control whenever Woody needed to do something, but you never understood he was envious of Jessie. Who knew the sheriff of the town would despise their pal, just as you guys embarked on insane adventures like visiting a haunted mansion, and soon you guys encountered Buzz Lightyear and some strange magical land taken over by fairies called pixies? So what made him envious of Jessie?!

🌖 This all started when you started hanging out with Jessie more, which irritated Woody, and whenever he spotted you hanging out with Jessie or talking to her, he would shout at you, accusing you of things you didn't even do.

🌓 I see him drugging Jessie's drink to the point where she vomits and is unable to move, and Woody lying and telling you she's on a mission right now.

🌒 Woody will drug her more the longer you hang around with her.

🌑 I strongly advise you to avoid hanging out with her before Woody overdoes her and causes her to die from a wide range of drugs.
