Adelaide: as angry and as hurt as she feels, she gets it. she's not a someone people like, she's not someone people make friends with or want to be around. so as painful as it is, she doesn't blame the mc, they're another just another person that couldn't stick around.

Hayden: they're hurt, of course they are, but they try not let it affect them too much. they do their best to stay positive and to look on the bright side, if the mc meant what they said then they at least now the truth and they can move on with their life. that doesn't make it hurt any less and they still need time to mourn whatever relationship they had together.

Gabriel: if you listen closely, you can hear his heart shattering in real time. he so desperately wants to wanted and loved so to hear those would from someone he cares so much about would ruin him. there's no coming back from that.

Jordan: they accept it for what it is. if that's truly how the mc feels, fine, they're not going to argue or try change their mind. but if they're just saying that out of anger or in an attempt to hide their emotions, they feel for them. "i hope that's true, for your sake," they reply. "and that that's the only thing you do regret."

Mavis/Maverick: they don't let it affect them. they bury whatever hurt feelings they might have until it's impossible to find them again. it doesn't matter to them, it doesn't bother them, it's fine. they don't say anything in response, they just nod and walk away. it's fine. they're fine. everything is fucking perfect.
