Took upon myself to draw all the characters from my favorite OVA Megazone 23 since there’s not a lot of fan art out there for it. Always thought the character designs were very iconic so I couldn’t resist drawing them in my own style. Hyped that Anime Eigo’s Kickstarter met its goal for the Blu Ray remaster also!

Peanut Butter Sandwich. 6
Story: 6
Acting: 8-10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: ?
This was a really bonkers one. It’s pretty short 8 episodes with about 24 minutes long so it’s pretty easy to get through if your looking for an easy lite romcom if you want to call it that. The storyline is a bit all over the place though as it contains a handful of different storylines with different character couples within each episode that are tied together that overall is tied to another main storyline. It sort of works at times and then sometimes it doesn’t. I will say starting it I expected something totally different and admit I was slightly disappointed.

asuccessfulbusinessman: What are some good non-modern Powered Armor shows?
Megazone 23! An Action-Mystery-Cyberpunk Powered Armor jewel from 1985 about Shogo Yahagi, a delinquent biker who, unknown to him, possesses a prototype motorbike that can turn into Powered Armor: The Garland. This, and the events that simultaneously begin unfolding, lead Shogo to discover the truth behind the Megazones, massive space colonies that humans live in after they had to leave Planet Earth, as it was rendered uninhabitable 500 years ago. it’s a four-episode OVA that can be watched pretty quickly.
It is also EXTREMELY 80s.
youtube
Another good one is Tekkaman Blade! This one is a full series of 50 episodes + 9 OVA episodes, and is a bona fide classic. A show from 1992, Tekkaman Blade is about Earth being invaded by the Radam, a race of bug-like monster aliens and armored humanoid warriors known as Tekkamen (which are the Radam commanders). One of the Tekkamen, however, actually fights the Radam instead of helping them, and sides with humanity: He is Tekkaman Blade, also known a Takaya Aiba. Together with the crew of the special defense forces ship, Blue Earth (Noal, Aki, Milly, Levin, and Honda), Takaya fights the Radam back, However, Takaya is not really siding with humans as much as simply blind with rage against the other Tekkamen and Radam for some reason, and trying to carry out his own one man war against them. What is the truth behind Takaya and his apparent betrayal of the Radam?
It goes INSANELY HARD, the fights are out of this world, and the entire OST transforms you blood into LAVA.
