The Consequential Thing
It’s not like Steve hasn’t had many, many coffees with Tony over the years.
In many cities in the world, hotel lobbies, business functions—they’d once gone around Florence, finding a gazillion of must-visit espresso bars. Their party had bailed one by one, Pepper, Rhodey, Carol—even Happy, who’d clutched Steve’s shoulder and said that he was probably hallucinating from too much caffeine intake. Steve had to stick around. There’d been no way in hell that Steve would leave Tony alone in a foreign country. Tony speaks Italian fluently, sure, but that little detail—even if Steve’s buzzing brain hadn’t remembered it at the time—was quite inconsequential.
The consequential thing, always, is that Steve goes wherever Tony asks.
Hiking for five days, for example, to raise awareness on deforestation, which put them both in hospital for dehydration as they’d ran out of water on the last day; or swimming with sharks, literally, twice in Costa Rica and Ecuador, but also metaphorically, like last year when Steve had agreed to accompany Tony to the SI safety measures Senate hearings.
They’re even going skydiving for Tony’s 40th birthday. It’s special because it’s Tony’s 40th, of course, but on a more selfish note, Steve’s thrilled that he is the only friend accompanying Tony on the day. The fact that none of Tony’s other, non-insane friends are into jumping out of planes doesn’t really matter; what does matter, is that it’s just Steve.
Not that he doesn’t know that it’s not what he actually, deeply wants; it’s just that he knows that it’s all he will actually ever get.
He knows that Tony is Tony Fucking Stark. That he is the smartest, kindest, most brilliant man Steve’s ever known, and to make matters worse—to leave Steve royally fucked—he is mesmerizingly, breathtakingly beautiful.
Steve can never take his eyes off him.
Like just now, sitting across from Steve in the corner booth, with the flicker of the neon lights dancing in his eyes, the gray in his hair, the crinkles in the corners of his eyes—he is a sight to behold.
All Steve wants to do is to reach over the narrow table and kiss Tony’s lips, his jaw, his midnight stubble, the deep lines that form when he laughs; it’s truly a miracle—with how much he wants—that Steve’s kept from embarrassing himself in Tony’s presence.
Thank God, and all things holy in heaven, that he has the tiny bit of self-preservation. That he is stupid enough to fall for Tony, but not stupid enough to imagine that he actually has a chance with him.
It’s just logic.
Steve’s just not good enough.

My entry for @stonylovessteve 2023, written for @purpleicedteas :) I love SLS, hope you enjoy this smol piece of love for Steve 😍
The Consequential Thing (3k, T)
Steve works for Stark Industries as the head of design, and has a great friendship with his boss, Tony Stark.
Except for the got-wrenching, blinding pain of not being Tony's boyfriend—which Steve's learnt to live with over the years—his life is a-okay.
An unfortunate encounter with Steve's terrible ex, however, changes everything.

The Cryptid Collection
NO, THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE! THE TIMING JUST WORKED OUT THAT WAY BECAUSE OUR ANNIVERSARY IS TDOV, WHICH WAS MARCH 31ST THIS YEAR. ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭
In case you missed, it, yesterday, we officially launched The Cryptid Collection!
Since it was the weekend and a major holiday, we decided to put off talking much about it outside of our website. But now it's Monday, so it's time to talk cryptids (even though we everyone is distracted by boops).
The Cryptid Collection is a collaborative design project created by co-owners Eli and Krista (hi, it's us, we're the main contributors to this Tumblr) exclusively for Shapeshifters. The collection has four main components: binders and sports bras made with fabrics of our own design, the fabrics which you can purchase for your own projects through Spoonflower, the vintage style travel posters, and the couture fashion looks which you can see in person at fashion shows across New England this year which will be listed on our Events Page as we confirm them.
While the collection was inspired by cryptids in general, we decided to spotlight six in particular: Mothman, Champ, the Jackalope, the Squonk, the Jersey Devil, and the Fresno Nightcrawler.
We'll talk more about them and why we chose those cryptids in particular later in the week. Today, we want to talk about the who, what, where, when, why, and how of The Cryptid Collection and cryptids in general.
You may be asking: Why a fashion collection?
It was originally Eli's idea. It had been something they'd been fantasizing about for a few years now, almost as long as Shapeshifters has been in business. The realization that it was something we could potentially really do didn't come until Fall of 2023, though, when we started talking about how to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We wanted to do something special, something that we'd never done before, and Eli decided it was time for both of us to finally admit that, after ten years of making and designing clothing and and graphic art, we might actually be qualified to call ourselves and present ourselves as Designers.
"It’s wild. I decided this year that I was going to commit to being the person I’ve fantasized about becoming. Terrifying." —Eli
So, a themed fashion collection.
But while it was their first and only answer when Krista asked what they wanted the theme to be, Eli didn't come up with the cryptid idea entirely on their own. Anyone who's been following Krista's artblr, @3ofpents, has probably seen the vintage travel posters she's been designing since Summer of 2023. Originally inspired by a book of color palettes from print media through the 20th century, the posters started out as a personal challenge to get Krista drawing more often.
The very first poster she designed was for the New Jersey Pine Barrens and the Jersey Devil, inspired by the state she grew up in. But the one that Eli cites as the one that really got them thinking was for our home state: Burlington, VT's own Champ.
"The tagline for that one was You’ll never swim alone. The friendly, ominous, terrible, wonderful mystery embedded in those four words is a vibe I think about a lot." —Eli
Krista's choice of cryptids as a subject for her posters, and the well of inspiration she drew from in designing her parts of this collection, stemmed from her childhood in New Jersey. While the Jersey Devil isn't as popular and well-known as some other regional cryptids like Mothman and the Loch Ness Monster, it is a huge part of New Jersey culture. Every kid in the state grows up learning some version of the Jersey Devil's origin story; and the local indie, alt, underground, punk cultures slap Jersey Devil imagery on their posters, logos, and products the way some states use their state shapes.
"In New Jersey, the story of the Jersey Devil holds a similar kind of legendary local pride as the story of George Washington crossing the Delaware River on Christmas Eve to take the British soldiers camping on the other side by surprise." —Krista
Eli's inspiration is coming in a separate post; cryptids can't be anything but queer, as far as they're concerned.
In the coming days we've got much more to say about various individual cryptids! Stay tuned.

Unspeakable Love
A Playlist for Obiyuki Do-Si-Do 2023 by @snowwhite-andtheknight
This playlist went through many edits over the year as I discovered new bands (The Beths) and remembered old ones (Mae) but the theme of hiding feelings stayed consistent. The title lyric comes from "The Maze," and I’ve been waiting all year to share these perfect Obiyuki songs! Also looking forward to reading the final companion piece by @jhalya!
Unspeakable Love
Knees Deep- The Beths
My Answer- The Natural Lines
The Maze- Manchester Orchestra
A Scene That Will Never Die- The Natural Lines
Giving It Away- Mae
Do You Want Me Now- The Beths
Alex Bell- The Natural Lines
Telepath- Manchester Orchestra
True Blue- Boygenius
Summary lyrics are posted under the cut:
Knees Deep- The Beths
Watching light through water
I want to bend the way it bends
You slice like a knife through the surface
But what a thrill to see it mend
With no scar, no memory
I'm envious, why pretend I'm not
Wading in up to the ankles
The cold speaks straight to my bones
Whole body and soul hesitation
I am a coward turned to stone
I stay there for centuries
So all of history knows about it
The shame, I wish that I was
Bravе enough to dive in
But I nevеr have been and never will be
I'm coming in hot then freezing completely
The shame, I wish that I could
Say what I've been thinking
But I never have done and never will do
Still only knees deep, I'll never be brave like you
My Answer- The Natural Lines
My answer to the night is maybe
A little danger on the side of a mountain
The flame lit face reveals what’s obvious
We will be strange
We will be perfectly out of place
Maybe we’ll lock eyes
Maybe we’ll meet
Nothing has to happen
Creatures inconceivable
The Maze- Manchester Orchestra
I notice you when you're noticing me
Breaking the habit, you're watching me sleep, oh
Give me some time, let me learn how to speak
I'm a maze to you
First of a thousand to write on the wall
It's only beginning, it's swallowing us
Somebody said it's unspeakable love
It's amazing
You lift that burden off of me
A Scene That Will Never Die- The Natural Lines
Starting at the summer’s end
When the nights get loud
We were searching for the words
The lines that don’t feel like they’ve ever been said before
Sometimes we lose it
Sometimes we don’t end where we meet
The ghosts keep flying overhead
Changes are permanent
Because the chemistry connects
Because you sit in the passenger side
A scene that will never die
Sometimes we lose it
Sometimes we don’t land where we mean
Giving It Away- Mae
By the way you brought me here
It makes me believe that the best is yet to come and I don't want to leave
Forgive my hesitation but I'm learning to trust in you
Help me to dream these dreams because I don't have a clue
If you'd be honest and say what you mean
You know I would promise I'd do anything
Because I know that without you I'm giving it away
You've introduced me to the moment
But I'm looking to stay for good
Do You Want Me Now- The Beths
Just a question that keeps me fast awake
In the dead of night
I'm a condemned site with light on
Tell me what you decide on
Do you want me now?
Or do you wanna leave it out
We can talk about it
I wanna tell you something but I don't know how
Being patient's never been my forte
And your waiting room is hard on my esteem
Alex Bell- The Natural Lines
You were here, you always seem so far away
You’ve become someone out of reach
The seasons keep me running away with myself
I want to get an answer from Alex Bell tonight
I loved your laughter when life seemed impossible
No one wants to hear my silent speech
I’ve become someone out of reach
Telepath- Manchester Orchestra
Told her I don't have a lot, babe, but you can have my soul
Baby, do you want me?
No, no, no
Everyone I know is slowly falling in the ocean
I don't want to be the next to row, I never learned to swim
Baby, do you love me?
No, no, no
In my mind, you are the road I chose to travel
Might as well have been the very last thing I decide
Half the time I'm lost, afraid that you're just borrowed
It don't matter much to me, man, I'm not afraid to die
You're the one I wanted, want now, want when I am old
When I'm falling
True Blue- Boygenius
You say you're a winter bitch, but summer's in your blood
You can't help but become the sun
When you don't know who you are, you fuck around and find out
When you called me from the train, water freezing in your eyes
You were happy and I wasn't surprised
You already hurt my feelings three times
In the way only you could
But it feels good to be known so well
I can't hide from you like I hide from myself
I remember who I am when I'm with you
Your love is tough, your love is tried and true blue

Encanto 2023 Day 18: Sleep
Sleep troubles were pretty common in the Madrigal household. Since there were so many of them living under one roof, when one could not sleep, they would have to find someone that was also awake to help them fall asleep. Much to the relief of Pepa, Felix, Julieta, and Agustin, since there were so many of them, they did not have to rely on them to always solve their sleeping problems. They could sometimes go to an older sibling or cousin.
Mirabel was sound asleep in the nursery one night when she heard a knock on the door that startled her. She jumped when she heard the knock and fell out of her bed. Once she got up, she put her glasses on and opened the door to see Antonio with his stuffed jaguar that Mirabel made for him in his arms.
“Mirabel, I can’t sleep again, can I sleep with you tonight?”
This has been a common occurrence since his gift ceremony. Since he was not accustomed to his new room yet, for most nights out of the week, he would ask to sleep in the nursery with Mirabel. It has given her a visible toll on her sleep schedule since then, but she would rather help her cousin than anything in the world.
“Did you have another nightmare, Antonio?”
“Si, I had a dream that we were swimming together, and at one point, you were holding me, and Carlos came in and dunked your head in the pool. Once I got Tia Juli, you stopped breathing and they had to take you to the hospital.”
Mirabel’s heart sank. Hearing her five-year-old cousin describe a dream he had about her drowning was enough for her to get out of bed.
“How about we go to the kitchen and I’ll fix you a cup of warm milk and I’ll sleep with you tonight?”
“Okay, Mira.”
Mirabel and Antonio tiptoed downstairs and turned and allowed Casita to turn the lights on as dimly as it possibly could. Mirabel rummaged through the refrigerator to find the milk and poured some in a small kettle to boil. Once the kettle began to whistle, Mirabel turned the stove off as fast as she possibly could so she did not wake up the rest of the house by accident. She poured the milk in a sippy cup and handed it to Antonio.
“This should help you sleep a little bit faster. I know Tia Pepa would give you your bottle before your naps when you were a baby and you would sleep for a full two hours. Just let it cool down a little bit before drinking it so you don’t burn your tongue.”
Antonio took a sip of the milk once he let it cool down. “Gracias, Mirabel; I think I should be okay for the rest of the night.”
Mirabel smiled and walked Antonio upstairs to his room. Casita turned the lights off as Mirabel and Antonio tiptoed upstairs. Once they got to Antonio’s room, he sat in his bed as he finished his milk. Mirabel tucked him in and took his sippy cup for Casita to take back to the kitchen and clean. Casita made a bed for Mirabel next to Antonio’s bed so she could be near him in case he has another nightmare.
“Are you sure you’re going to be okay for the rest of the night?” Mirabel asked.
“Si, I’m sure,” Antonio replied.
Mirabel smiled and drifted to sleep next to her cousin. Antonio fell asleep not that long after, and for a while, the two were fine. It was not until two hours later when Mirabel woke up to hear Antonio crying.
“Antonio! Wake up! I think you’re having another bad dream!” Mirabel said as she shook her cousin’s shoulder.
Antonio woke up, noticing tears dripping down his face. He turned around to see Mirabel and got out of his bed to hug her and cried again.
“Are you okay, primo? Did you have another bad dream about me getting hurt?”
“Si, but it was also about Casita breaking down again. Do you remember the first time Casita broke down and I got so scared that you hurt yourself?”
“Si, I remember when you told me how scared you were when Casita broke down the first time.”
“Well, in my dream, when Casita broke down, you ended up getting crushed, and Tia Juli was not able to save you in time.”
That description alone was enough for Mirabel to start crying herself. Why was Antonio getting all these intense dreams all of a sudden? She was sure that witnessing Casita fall the first time would have been a big factor in all of this. She never wanted to have her own cousin witness such a tragic event in the first place, or any five-year-old for that matter.
“Is there anything I can do right now to make you feel better?” Mirabel asked.
“Well, I mean, I’ve had my stuffed jaguar you gave me to comfort me this whole time, but, is it okay if you sleep with me tonight?”
“I’ll sleep with you, Tonito, but only for tonight, okay?”
The last time Mirabel slept at Antonio’s bedside was when he was two and a half, when he was still getting used to a big boy bed. After that, Pepa suggested weaning him off the cosleeping so he would not get too used to it and expect her to sleep next to him every night. Now that he has been used to her not being at his bedside for almost three years, she can still sleep next to him while also knowing he will not expect it every night.
“I promise, Mirabel, only for tonight.”
Mirabel climbed in Antonio’s bed and got herself snug. She pulled the blanket over both of their bodies and dosed off. Mirabel hugged Antonio close to him and he held on to her arm, along with his stuffed jaguar. Antonio smiled in his sleep as he snuggled closer to his cousin. Knowing that he was safe in her arms and she was going to be there when he woke up was enough for Antonio to sleep well.

Ah, July. Not the hottest month (that is August or September), but it is very a Summer Month. June is mostly (and technically is like two thirds?) a Late Spring Month, but in July summer has arrived and they are decked out in sparkles and sweating everywhere triumphantly.
So I wanted songs about water and outer space and agitation between chill summer vibes and snappy summer bops. There's some new music on there, including the single from CRJ's latest, which I ADORE. More neo-disco please! OH also enjoy the best possible cover of Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf," it's jazz. This is very a playlist to half-ignore while lazing about something else, it's all vibes, can be put on shuffle, and some of the songs'll grab ya, but who knows which on which playthrough.
Related media to some of the songs:
Just listening to Masstor's "Self Control" you might not realise that it's being sung by a giant blue orc? monster? guy in the most amazing creature/costume build (he's got so much available movement! it looks like Not A Bitch to get in and out of!), but here's the music video so you can experience the entirety of the vibes.
Janelle Monáe's The Age of Pleasure is such a killer summer album, the vibes in the "Waterslide" music video are fabulous, and please do check out the other videos for this album, it feels like they just rented a sick house for a weekend and knocked all the videos out while cavorting poolside.
Jim Sullivan's U.F.O. is a household favourite, and his story is a sad and semi-mysterious one. It's one of those "you hope it was a miracle... but probably not" situations.
There are multiple Bart Graft tracks on here, big recommend as background music for working, it's dance stuff but often chill. It's all vibes, I love it.
Anyway here's a link to July's playlist on Spotify, with the track list below the cut.

Lyrics:
Peak 2023
I never thought I'd see the day but everyone says it's great
They're opening up dispensaries I'm in a legal state
Corporations are cashing in it's the American Way
It's peak 2023
Peak 2023 it's all right
It's all right
Slava Ukraini we're watching from a drone's eye view
VR headset I'm immersed but can't escape the truth
I think this creepy AI app is more aware than you
It's peak 2023
Peak 2023 it's all right
It's all right
Swimming in a sea of wifi radiation every day
I wear EMF clothing and a beanie for my brain
And I don't care if everybody thinks I've gone insane
It's peak 2023
Peak 2023 it's all right
It's all right
Late night drunken media posts they delete them with the sun
Somebody let the fascists out I wish I had a gun
Let me tell you I would not set my phasers on stun
It's peak 2023
Peak 2023 it's all right
It's all right

Encantober 2023 Day 6: Heart
Today was the day the entire Madrigal family started to take the week off of helping the Encanto. While each family member each had two days off throughout the week, there was only one week in the year they all agreed to take off together. That was also agreed upon by the town, since they were the ones to see firsthand each of the Madrigals overwhelm themselves in their own way that they agreed to take that weight off their shoulders.
The Madrigals usually spent the week spending time with each other as a family around the town. This year, they decided to spend the week out of the Encanto to travel more and find more places to visit in the future. They went to the town just north of the Encanto and stayed in three hotel rooms, since each room only had two queen-sized beds. Julieta and Agustin took the first room with Isabela and Mirabel. Pepa and Felix took the second room with Dolores and Antonio. Alma and Bruno took the last room with Luisa and Camilo.
The Madrigals found a beach near the hotel that they decided to go to on the first day of the week. Once they made their way to the beach, the Madrigals found a spot to put their chairs and bags that was spacious enough for all twelve of them. While they got quite a few annoyed glares from beachgoers because of how many of them there were, they just minded their own business because they never let other people ruin their week. Antonio saw a long row of seashells by the shore and wanted to collect some.
"Mami, can I go for a walk to collect shells?" he asked.
"Si, Tonito; just stay with Mirabel and don't go out too far." Pepa replied as Felix helped put sunscreen on her back.
"Yay!"
Antonio and Mirabel made their way to the shore to find some seashells that struck their eye. They found all kinds of seashells throughout their walk; small ones, big ones, and many in different shapes. The two youngest grandkids stopped in their tracks when Mirabel found a unique shell that no one has ever seen before. It was bright red, with several rough edges, and was shaped like a heart. It was the most beautiful shell either of them have ever seen.
"This must be a super rare shell," Mirabel pointed out as she held the shell up to the sun.
The shell shined and sparkled in the sunlight and Mirabel and Antonio were never more fascinated by anything their entire lives. Mirabel put the shell back down to let Antonio hold it.
"Do you think it belongs to a type of hermit crab we've never seen before?"
"Maybe; it could also belong to an exotic type of snail. Let's show everyone else the shell, since we should go back anyway. It's almost lunchtime."
Mirabel and Antonio made their way back to the family's beach spot with the shells they found. As they continued walking, they saw a young girl that was about Antonio's age crying by the water. Mirabel stopped with Antonio and ran over to the girl.
"Excuse me, I noticed you were sitting here upset. Are you okay?" she asked.
The girl sniffed before she could reply. "I can't find my mami and papi. I went swimming and came out to find them for lunch; now I don't know where they are."
Mirabel sat next to the girl by the water. Antonio followed and put the bucket of shells next to him. "Do you remember what they looked like?"
"My mami had dark, curly hair. Her skin color is just like yours. She was wearing a purple bathing suit with a flower on it."
Mirabel was impressed with how well-spoken the girl was. It reminded her of herself when she was her age. She stood up from the shore and tapped Antonio on the shoulder for him to also stand up.
"Just stay where you are right now. My cousin and I are going to try to find your parents for you. If we find them, we'll let them know and we'll come back for you."
The girl got up and hugged Mirabel. "Gracias; I'll stay for as long as I need to."
Mirabel and Antonio then left the shore to find the girl’s parents. Antonio used the shells they found to make a trail so they could find their way back to the girl when they found her parents. The two found so many seashells that the trail should be long enough for them to make a trail to find someone.
“Remember, Antonio, we just need to find a woman with dark, curly hair with similar colored skin as me wearing a purple bathing suit with a flower on it.”
Antonio nodded and kept on making the trail of seashells. They got further away from the shoreline until Antonio lifted his head to see a woman that looked exactly like the girl described wearing sunglasses and a beach hat sitting in a beach chair under an umbrella with a book, with a man next to her, who must have been the girl’s father.
“Do you think that’s the woman?” Antonio asked.
Mirabel looked in the direction Antonio was pointing in. “That should be her mami! I would like to ask her if she has a daughter, but she seems so relaxed right now and I don’t want to disrupt that.”
Not that long after they found her, the woman closed the book and put it in her beach bag and took her sunglasses off. She then reached for her husband’s chair and they held hands. It must have been a sign she was finished reading for the time being.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go ask her if she lost a child!” Antonio said as he grabbed Mirabel’s arm and ran to the umbrella.
The couple looked at each other, then Mirabel and Antonio once they got to their chairs and stopped right in front of them. She never felt more awkward her entire life, considering the fact that she never had to confront anyone about a missing child before
“Hola; I was wondering if you had a daughter that was about five years old wearing her hair in braids and a little sun hat?”
“Si; is there anything you need?” the woman asked.
“Well, I saw her by the shore crying, and she was scared that she lost you while she went swimming because she couldn’t find you.”
The couple sprang from their chairs. “She’s lost!?” the man asked in shock.
“Not necessarily, my cousin made a trail of seashells in case we also got lost and couldn’t find her while we went back. We can just follow the trail of shells and we should find her.”
The couple smiled at Mirabel and Antonio and got up from their chairs. The four of them followed Antonio's trail of seashells. Antonio led the way and put each seashell back in his pail one by one. The couple felt like they were going at a snail's pace with Antonio stopping to pick up the shells, but Antonio was just excited to put the shells back to show the rest of the family. It was not long before they got to the shore and found the girl sitting at the same place she was when Mirabel and Antonio first saw her. Mirabel walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Excuse me, I think we found your mami and papi," Mirabel said.
The girl looked up to see her parents behind Mirabel and Antonio. She stopped crying, smiled excitedly, and got up to run up to them and give them a hug.
"Mami! Papi! I was so scared I couldn't find you!" the girl exclaimed.
"Lo siento, querida; we're sorry that you couldn't find you. We're just happy you're okay," her mother replied.
Not that much later, Julieta and Pepa ran over to Mirabel, Antonio, and the family. "There you two are! We've been looking all over for you!" said Julieta as she gave her youngest daughter a hug.
"We saved lunch for you two since we figured you must be starving! Where were you?" Pepa asked.
"We were about to come back for lunch until we saw this little girl right here crying by the shore. She was lost so we looked for her parents."
"Are these your mamis?" the girl asked.
"Si; this is my mama, Julieta, and my tia, Pepa."
"Let me just tell you how amazing your children are. They saw my daughter crying and their first thought was to find us. You are both amazing mothers that raised your children to have the best hearts," the woman explained.
"I'm Maria, by the way. Gracias again for finding my mami and papi," the girl said.
"I'm Mirabel, and this is my cousin, Antonio."
"Maria, before you leave, I want to give you something," Antonio said as he dug through his pail of shells. He dug through until he found the rare, bright-red, heart-shaped shell he and Mirabel found before finding her. “I know you may never see us again, but I want to give you this to remember us by.”
Maria smiled as Antonio handed her the shell. “It’s the most beautiful shell I’ve ever seen. Gracias, Antonio.”
Julieta and Pepa stared in awe at the shell, along with Maria. “Where did you find that shell?” Julieta asked.
“We found it by the shore. We have no idea where it came from, but we thought it looked cool, so we took it with us,” Mirabel explained.
“Well, we’re going to keep it in a safe place when we get home. Don’t worry, Mirabel and Antonio, we will not forget you after this generous gift,” Maria’s mother said.
“We won’t forget about you either, Maria,” Mirabel replied.
Mirabel and Antonio hugged Maria one more time before they went their separate ways. As Mirabel and Antonio walked back with their mothers, they gave their youngest child one more hug.
“You know how proud we are of you,” said Pepa.
“The fact that you found a lost girl and found her parents for you says so much about both of you as people,” Julieta added.
“Gracias, mami, tia; I really do hope that they really won’t forget about us,” Mirabel replied.
“I’m sure they won’t, they will probably put that heart-shaped shell you gave them in a special box that will open whenever they feel lost,” Pepa explained.
The four of them continued walking back until they found the rest of the family by their lounging spot so Mirabel and Antonio could have their lunch. They told the rest of the family what happened when they collected the shells and told the story of the bright-red, heart-shaped shell that started it all.
