Everyone scurries toward their classes. The hours pass by for Tati as she collects syllabuses and projects and homework from her first three periods, but it's otherwise uneventful. Finally, the lunch bell rings, and all of the students are released for an hour and a half to eat, lay out on the field, or hang out in a classroom. Tati, Omar, and Gia arrive at their designated table, which is overcrowded already with friends, except for Sam. They are nowhere to be seen. Tati is also keeping an eye out for Diego—just so he doesn’t have to sit alone at lunch, of course. SAM: HELL YEAH SENIOR YEAR LET'S GO TEACHER: Language, Shipp! Sam squeezes in between Gia and some other people. TATI: So. Sam. What’s the situation with you and Cassandra? SAM: Cassie is just a friend. We've been hanging out since Malcom's party. Don’t make it a thing. GIA: Y’all were cuddling in the gym but okay. Not a big deal. TATI: Bud. You were practically going to wear her as a second skin. SAM: Listen. I don’t kiss and tell. Gia looks away and starts talking to Sidney. GIA: So, Sidney, right? Do you think you could help me convince the team to all pose for yearbook in like a month? We need full team shots, so— SIDNEY: Yeah! If you give me a day? You can always come and take the photo at practice? Or ask Coach because she might yell at us otherwise. Meanwhile Sam discusses their senior art project and Omar complains about his math and science workload (“Why did I take these this year? I fulfilled my credits!”), Tati flips through the Career Day pamphlet. She notices a new section. Occult Positions! Now Hiring Lore Scribes, Tarot Readers, and Vampire Hunters. Apply Today at copperdalejobs.sims.gov/occult/ (A/N: not a real website!) TATI: Speaking of Career Day, my gas tank is already low and Bob refuses to let me work at the diner during the school year. OMAR: You can always ride with me. TATI & GIA: On the bus? No way. SAM: See? This is the capitalist machine at work. If you skated, rode a bike, or weren't above taking the bus— Tati glares at Sam. Sam grins and takes a bite of their burger. TATI: Anyway. I’m looking for a part time job so if anyone sees anything—from dog shit cleanup to waitressing, let me know.

The lunch bell rings and everyone wanders off toward their fourth period classes. Fourth and fifth are mostly uneventful. Sixth period however is an elective history class Tati is very excited about! It's relatively new to Copperdale High and although she isn't totally clueless about occult sims, she wants to learn about the history of their cultures.

Piper also noticed a cute new sim who Amir told her was Mateo Iqbal, a transfer student from Henford on Bagley and he was in his sophomore year, one year below Piper. She had too many crushes already, plus her brother Hamuera was talking with him and she decided Hamuera should go for him if he wanted. She snuck another peek at Cameron passing by, and mentally fanned herself before Cameron came and sat next to her.

Cameron: Hey.

Piper: (more squeakily than she intended) Um, hey!

Cameron: (smiling) I’m Cameron Kang, but you can call me Cam.

Piper: I know, Anjali told me about you when I asked-I mean when I was wondering who you were since I didn’t see you around school.

Piper mentally curses, but thankfully Cam doesn’t mind her awkwardness. She talked easily with Piper, and despite Piper crushing on her for looks first, she really started liking Cam. Apparently her mom owned a hardware store, and taught Cam how to build and fix things, and her dad was a writer and passed his love of cooking to Cam, they would make some traditional Korean dishes together and Piper swooned a little when Cam added that she could make something for Piper maybe when she said she’d loved to try the food.

Piper was also pleasantly surprised that she didn’t think of Malaya much, and she felt easy talking to Cam and telling her about her life with her moms, aunties, baby brother and cousin. Cam’s eyes went wide as Piper explained that her auntie Tess and Megan lived with the family, so it was sort of a joint family situation. “That’s pretty cool, honestly. You guys must have a boisterous house.” Cam said in her warm voice. “Yup. It’s a little chaotic but so much fun.” Piper gushed. Plus, Cam complimented Piper’s dress and hair. Piper blushed deeply and stammered out a thanks. “I like your jacket.” Piper said. “Thanks, I got it from my auntie actually, she used to work in a pub in Windenburg and she’d wear it and gave it to me when I started getting more into my own sense of style and fashion. It’s like buttery soft now, touch the sleeve.” Cam said, grinning at Piper. Piper felt like she was going to faint or let out a nervous crazed laugh but she tentatively reached over and touched the sleeve of Cam’s jacket. It did feel soft as heck, and she could also feel some muscle tone in Cam’s arm. “It’s great.” Piper said, and thankfully her voice didn’t squeak as badly as before.

SIDNEY: LET'S GET DRUNK

KAYDEN: HELL YEAH

Starstrukk! by 3OH!3 begins to play over the speakers.

Kayden and his friend look into the room where everyone is dancing, and as bodies move he sees Tati, his ex-girlfriend. They haven't spoken since... well.

KAYDEN: Tatiana?

SIDNEY: oh no

Tati has not heard her ex yet. She is too busy having fun dancing to this very ridiculous song with her best friend, Gia.

He says her name again.

KAYDEN: Tatiana?

Tati stops in her tracks and turns to face the hallway when she hears her name.

TATI: Kayden...?

Gia thinks Tati is making a joke. Surely, he isn't here.

GIA: Haha, that's a funny jo-.

KAYDEN: We should talk.

TATI: Um, no. I have to pee now BYE

GIA: oh shit

Tati and Kayden take off in a sprint.

SIDNEY: Um, should we stop them?

GIA: Yes. Yes!

KAYDEN (exasperated): Don't run away!

GIA: I'm not! I just have to pee really, really bad.

Winter Formal is in session and full of peasant townies. Nothing's going to ruin Tippy's night though. Tippy is anxiously waiting for Sidney to make his move, but being mr popular, he has to catch up with everyone!

The kids returned home from another long day at school to play some cards with their dads and relax. It had been a tough week but they were finally done with school and ready for the weekend.

But first...they had to beat Sidney in a harmless game of Go Fish.

Lavender: Hey, dad...how did you and father get so good at card games? Grandmas Fallon and Lilliana never knew anything about cards and neither do grandma Janae or grandpa Marcel.

Benjamin: There were many days in college where your father Sidney had to come over and help me kill time.

Benjamin: In fact, most days all I EVER did in college was either play the guitar, do my homework, or learn to play cards.

Sidney: He's lying. He just learned how to play spades...don't let your dad fool you.

Lavender: Dad, you're such a bad liar. Thank the watcher you don't play poker.

Aries: I mean, he kinda made it obvious with the hand he tried to hide earlier...his face gives him away every time.
