#sifki gives this energy also
Text
Ok so I did a rewatch thread for ATLA a few years ago, and I’m doing it again for the LCU: Loki Cinematic Universe
Thor:
Forgot Thor dropped out of the Sky in New Mexico of all places lmao. Darcy my beloved.
This movie is making me emotional like a minute in. They haven’t even introduced Lokes yet don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry
really gives Star Wars x Lord of the rings energy huh
YEA THOR AND LOKI. Loki’s child casting is ridiculously impeccable though…same nose, facial expressions, we sure this kid ain’t Tom’s?
POOR SWEET SUMMER CHILD LOKI YOU HAVE NO IDEA
When I saw Sif I made this face. 😏 Wow the way they delayed Adult! Loki reveal for dramatic effect. And when I saw him I made this face 😩 and giggled like a schoolgirl. Hnnng I can’t handle Sifki in the same frame they’re too fine. Ok shut up simp.
ZOOM IN ON FRIGGA AT “FIRSTBORN” Obviously they just wanted to show his mom, and they may not have known Hela would be Odin’s daughter when making Thor, but fuck it is funny in hindsight.
ZOOM IN ON LOKI AT SELFISH AMBITION been there Lokes I get ya. They look….so damn good in silver, can we have Loki in Silver again?
Young Thor has anger issues, I forgot how hotheaded he was. wow he’s come a long way…or is that the inconsistent writing…
Loki: judges you in bisexual. Also Loki: don’t be suspicious don’t be suspicious
I forgot about Hogun I feel bad
Don’t go to Jotunheim that will start Loki’s villain arc and spiral into the entire infinity saga
Heimdall told Loki he wasn’t dressed warm enough the foreshadowing. WHEN BIFROST ACTIVATED TO GO TO JOTUNHEIM LOKI GOT ZAPPED FIRST. Where are the frost giants? *camera pans to Loki* there is SO much foreshadowing in this scene, also to Loki being a backstabbing little bitchsicle
Loki’s personality and character voice has been the same for 12 years stop complaining antis. Also thank Tom for that!
Loki should have played off “run back home, little princess” as Laufey referring to them, not Thor. Maybe chaos wouldn’t ensue. Thor you are a rambunctious irresponsible nightmare. You make Loki look cool and calculated, which they are, unless they’re having a psychotic break. Loki really would be and was a better ruler.
FIRST LOKI KNIFE THROW
While that scene is heartbreaking, Loki and the frost giant looking at each other in confusion will never not be funny
Loki saved Fandral awwww I ship it
I like this Thor better. He got too goofy and himbo later. He’s a golden retriever, but a jumpy, bitey golden retriever that tries to pick up sticks that are too big and get it into danger.
Loki was so scared this whole movie. His face is just…filled with dread half the time poor kitten
The love of Thor’s life during Thor: doing fancy science experiments, hanging with her friends, living her best nerd life. The love of Loki’s life during Thor: watches people die gruesome deaths, chokes on ash from supervolcano, narrowly avoids getting sucked into black hole, nearly drowns in mega tsunami, almost gets incinerated by nuke.
Until Sylvie, only Darcy could match Loki’s sheer level of chaos gremlin
Stop punching for 3 seconds Thor or I swear to god I’m gonna punch my television
“Thor is reckless and dangerous” you’re one to talk, Loki
The way Sif says Loki’s name, the way she reaches out to him first, as if she knows her sway on him…hmmm. Fandral jumping to defend Loki as if he himself has been offended….hmmmm.
“Am I cursed” thank you I will be crying though the whole scene. The way he tries to stay collected and just loses his shit…(I actually did cry and had to cut myself a slice of cake)
“Why do you twist my words” he has BPD Odin, that’s your fault
Thor: ANOTHER. Jane: no smashing, unless you’re smashing me
There is such a marked difference in how Loki acts after finding out he’s Jotun, down to the shaky way Tom delivers his lines. Loki is trying to put on this mask of grandeur and poise, when he’s so clearly…broken. How do I reach through the screen and tell him I love him? Loki is king, what he’s wanted forever, and he can’t even enjoy it. He is absolutely devastated. FuCK. But also, he’s having cynical fun with it. He’s had a terrible day, he’s done with everyone’s bullshit, and he’s decided to do whatever he fucking wants
He’s decided to become what everyone wanted from him…He found out he’s Jotun, and he wants to purge that from history and become someone he could never be…
He and Sif soooooo obviously have history, like how did I miss this? There also may be a bit of subtext with Fandral… Loki my Bi king
Also they are so androgynously beautiful this movie, Loki my genderfluid queen
Loki on earth: I will intentionally attract attention by being sexy. Thor on earth: I will unintentionally attract attention by acting like an alien, which I am
Loki’s only real friend is his mother. Unfortunately, I relate.
Jane and Thor are a better fit than I remember. They’re both impulsive, adventurous, but she mellows him out and is his voice of reason. He brings her out of her shell, keeps her life exciting.
Sup Clint
Thor is kinda cute, but too manly for me. My type is tomboys and femboys and everything in between.
I feel like Loki, yelling at Thor through the tv to calm the fuck down and stop hitting people and just sit his ass down and make a fucking plan. Thor and his hammer I swear to god. Maybe if you calmed tf down, you’d be worthy again, you hotheaded arrogant fool
Cinematography popping offfff
Loki: Father is dead. Me: YOU LYING SACK OF ✨beauty✨ *tries to be angry at Loki, literally drools instead* Loki: you are still banished. Me: you little shit! (affectionate). I hate you so much (sexually frustrated)
Loki and Mjolnir. The way he was frustrated, then angry, then heartbroken, but never hopeful. He knew he was never gonna pick that hammer up, but he still tried and failed. He looked like he was gonna yell, then looked like he was gonna cry…baby baby nooo
I’m really just Loki lite. Or Loki is me on a really bad day. Like when it’s 4:am and I’m considering murdering my grandmother. I’ll be like…jeez, am I really that much like Loki? He does some really fucked up stuff. Then I realize that if I was in the same situation, I would do the exact same thing. Psychologically, we are nearly identical. I also have the same gender, sexuality, skin, hair and eye color. I may be a variant, send help.
Marry me Lady Sif
Not Loki showing empathy…no one tell that corner of the fandom that idolizes his worst self and thinks he’s nothing but a cold hearted self obsessed psychopath. Did anyone really think that Robot punch was gonna kill Thor? The hulk hits harder than that. Loki was going easy on him. He does care, somewhere deep in his whole…mess. He never truly wanted to kill Thor, he just thought he did. I don’t think he could have gone through with it either. If he did, killing Thor might have killed him too. Look up splitting in bpd, and you’ll get it.
The plot of this movie is just: Loki has a breakdown
Ok I’m tearing up again at 4:40 am in the morning because sad popsicle just wants to feel loved…but he’s already loved…they just can’t believe anyone would love them for who they are… so he self sabotages bc deep down…they don’t feel worthy of the love they desperately crave *has a breakdown myself*
Loki is just me when I have a borderline personality disorder rage episode, provoke people by saying hurtful shit, and wanna jump off a bridge afterwards ngl
If you destroy the bridge you’ll never see her again…Loki trying to manipulate Thor, or Loki being a hopeless romantic and caring…a bit of both.
Loki’s su!c!de attempt genuinely made me cry, especially because I know he survives actual physical and psychological torture afterwards, and does things that likely haunt him forever. I wish I could tell him that a few years down the line, he will know his family and everyone in Asgard pitied him, loved him, mourned him, and in another timeline he will meet someone who will make him feel understood and validated and seen the way he thought impossible. It’s also making me worry about Sylvie attempting the same next season because…Loki and Sylvie are cut from the same cloth and as they said, they truly have been where she is now and felt what she feels.
End credit scene…I see you Lokes

Loki (2021) Positivity from an Anti
Ok so all of my mutuals know I’m extremely anti-Loki (2021), anti-sylki, and anti-sylvie. But at a certain point, even we antis get tired of all the negativity. So! Here’s some Loki series commentary in the opposite direction! This is a list of all the things about the show that I loved :)
Also adding a disclaimer that all of this is just my opinion and some of my fellow antis (or even people who liked the show) might disagree, and that’s fine! I’ve been planning this post for awhile. I always say in my other posts that I don’t entirely hate the show and I wanted to be a little more specific about what I think are its good aspects. Feel free to leave your thoughts!
• Mobius is a gem (Owen Wilson owns my whole heart) and his relationship with Loki is so so great. He’s not one-dimensional at all, he has conflicted loyalty and is morally complex, and he has the tragic backstory- which makes him a perfect choice for eventually becoming Loki’s first genuine friend.
• The casting was really really great. Lots of women and people of color. Most of the female actresses (as well as the males) are over 30, which isn’t very common and is fantastic!
• Superb acting all around. I can’t think of a single scene where the actors under or oversold it.
• Beautiful set design, incredible cgi, and gorgeous cinematography overall. It looked more like a movie than a tv show, which is really good.
• Kang being the big bad was a huge plus for me. Johnathan Majors was perfect in the role, his vibes were immaculate, and I was honestly pretty worried that the man behind the curtain would end up being another Loki variant, which imo would’ve been boring and predictable and counter-productive, so it was a big relief when that didn’t happen.
• I like that it sets up a bunch of future marvel movies, rather than being contained to its own little world. It gives it more importance and (hopefully) will encourage writers to not just toss Loki’s character aside in future projects.
• All the Loki variants were delightful. All of them except Sylvie. Kid Loki has my heart. Boastful Loki is a fashion icon. Alligator Loki is a savage. President Loki is the superior variant. Classic Loki became my fav character in less than half an episode.
• It showed some more variety in Loki’s magic. A lot of his powers we’ve seen before, but it feels like they were portrayed a bit more blatantly in the show. The energy blasts, the telekinesis, the teleportation… Outstanding.
• It also implied that Loki has the potential to be waaaay more powerful than he knows he is right now, which? Yes.
• Some of the quotes- and the themes behind them- are just profound as hell. Such as:
“I think we’re stronger than we realise.”
“It’s never too late to change.”
“You can be whoever you wanna be, even someone good.”
“We’re Lokis. We survive. It’s what we do.”
“Loki, God of Outcasts.”
“The universe wants to break free, that’s why it manifests chaos.”
• Technically Loki was Marvel’s first canon lgbt (bi) character, which is a win. His genderfluidity is also technically canon, even if it wasn’t really acknowledged on-screen.
• There were a lot of throwback references to Thor 1, Avengers, and Thor The Dark World. Which I loved.
• Sylvie’s so pretty. Her hair and makeup and costume were all perfect.
• Big fan of Loki finally getting Laevateinn.
• Sufficiently slutty imagery, courtesy of a female director (Loki in a collar, kneeling to Sif, President Loki looking down into the bunker, the hair flips)
• The music was Excellent Wonderful and Superb.
• I love that Loki being a good singer is now canon.
• I love that Asgardians having their own language is now canon (even if it’s basically just Icelandic).
• I also love that they disproved all of those “Loki was a shy nerdy wallflower pre-canon” theories in Episode 3. The drinking/eating/singing scene was fun, if a bit wacky.
• There’s a million different reasons why Loki does what he does, especially in regards to the New York attack (I’m literally writing a huge meta on them), but somehow I never considered that Loki being desperate for control was one of them. It makes a lot of sense, and I always love getting new insights into his motivations.
• I love that Loki finally outright acknowledged that he doesn’t enjoy hurting people. We Been Knew™️ but it’s still nice to hear it out loud from his own mouth.
• The TVA outfit wasn’t as hideous as some people make it out to be. It could’ve been A Look, even. You know, if he’d just accessorised a little better. And kept the jacket on. And not gotten sweaty. And not gotten dirty. And maybe had at least one other costume change… But it had potential, though!!
• Even though I despise the Obvious One, I did actually like some of the other romance crumbs they tossed us (sifki, Loki x the flight attendant).
• The whole DB Cooper thing was iconic idc idc.
• Loki’s hyper sort of overly excited puppy attitude in episode 2 was actually pretty refreshing and funny (for awhile). And now I can headcanon him as adhd, yeehaw.
• “We’re all villains here.” That quote was iconic, my favourite one in the show. And the entire theme that it summarised was really great as well. When you think about it, every single main character in this series has been the villain at one point or another. I mean, I know all marvel characters do bad things etc, but none of the Heroes are ever narratively categorised as Bad. This show did just that with all of them, though. . Loki was framed as the psychopath that attacked New York. Sylvie was framed as the murderous fugitive. The TVA/Ravonna/Mobius were framed as the murderous fascists. Kang was framed as the crazy totalitarian. It’s made clear that all the Loki variants were the villains of their stories.
However, every single main character in the series is also framed as the Hero at a certain point. Loki is framed as the main protagonist who throws a wrench in the TVA’s dastardly plans. Sylvie is framed as the persevering freedom fighter who wants to take down the fascists. The TVA/Mobius/Ravonna are framed as the ones who maintain order for the greater good. Kang is framed as the weird but ultimately benevolent wise man who’s just trying to prevent something worse from happening. The Loki variants are framed as generous allies who befriend the main character and help him on his journey.
Everyone in this equation is openly acknowledged by the narrative to be morally corrupt, but not entirely morally bankrupt. There are no Straightforward Hero Figures (like the Avengers) in this entire scenario at all, and that makes for a super interesting dynamic that marvel has never done before. So yes: “We’re all villains here.” But also: “No one bad is ever truly bad, and no one good is ever truly good.” I loved that.
• Even if it wasn’t really enough imo, I still treasure the crumbs we got of Loki being competent and capable (him putting the collar on B-15, him figuring out Sylvie’s hiding place, him teaching himself to enchant on the fly while fighting a giant cloud beast of eldritch proportions).
• I love that B-15 was the one who stepped in and saved the day in Episode 4, when we all thought it was gonna be Mobius. What a queen.
• Marvel usually has a bit of a problem with creating compelling and memorable side characters. But aside from Sylvie, I genuinely got attached to every single character in this show. Like Casey, C-20? I was seriously emotionally invested in them and they were only in like 2 episodes. Wtf.
• Introducing the TVA storyline in the Loki series specifically was a really good move. I’m not saying they executed it well, just that it had a ton of potential. A lot of people have wondered why marvel even thought to put those two (the TVA and Loki) together, when they had literally nothing to do with each other, nothing in common, and essentially no connection at all. But when you think about it, it’s a really interesting twist on both of those stories. Forcing the embodiment of destructive chaos and the pillar of rigid order to interact could make for some seriously entertaining and compelling television. And as far as meshing these two completely unrelated entities together goes, I thought they did it pretty well- at least just the bare bones of the story (loki being arrested by the TVA and being one of their most common variants).
So that’s it! If you guys (fellow antis) wanna add stuff you liked, feel free. If anyone wants to discuss (or debate) my list, feel free to do that too!

youngLoki-Frigga scribble with Sifki hint and horse (old-version excerpt from Lionheart) ~1300 words
"Shape it into something, will you?"
"Into what?"
"Whatever you want."
"I cannot do it unless you tell me."
The Queen smiled leniently. Loki was a clever one; and especially since he started growing up, he detected and evaded her subtle attempts to see into his head. It was quite the normal occurrence, she was not to watch over her children for an eternity. Only this one time, it didn't feel all right, she wished to hold on a little longer. It could have been because blood didn't tie him to her, or because he was her youngest, her last one. Or – what could as well have been mere clinginess – her instinct protesting against sending him off into the world on his own just yet.
He needs a father, she had dared say it to Odin once.
Am I not? How could I be any more of a father when I'll be sending him away to coldness in a century?
And he is yet to know, yet to prepare.
Not a word, my Queen. Not a word.
That was Odin, father to all, upkeeper of nine realms' peace, being a coward.
And this was Frigga, appointed mother to someone she was to love and then throw away.
And love she did.
"Try something that thrills you," she suggested lightly.
The teal glow of seidr, so similar to his eye colour, flared up in the nest of his five fingers.
"I love balloons," he protested at her disapproving look. "They're exciting, so many games to play with them, so many things to fill-”
"Please, take this seriously."
"I’m sorry, Mother," he said, his face dressed in innocence.
Her voice was gentle as always, her patience genuine.
"Show me what you can do with that energy. I want to see how well you can control your raw seidr; how intricate is the flow you can influence."
In response, finally, he shaped a jade smoke-horse over his palm, galloping in place, turning, prancing.
She smiled approvingly.
"Now make it jump."
The mare ran and leapt over an invisible cleft.
"Make it worried."
"Worried?"
"There is rustling in the bushes. You know how Sortna reacts." That was the name of Loki’s mare.
The horse braked into a halt, its nostrils alone widening and narrowing with each breath, eyes darting around, ears scanning the area like telescopes.
"Escape. Elope from a tiny rabbit that got stuck in dry weed."
"Sortna doesn't do that," Loki noted while the horse jumped an incredible height, and its four legs were already running in the air before they reached the unseen ground.
Her answer was but a sly glint in her eyes.
"A flowery meadow, beaming sun."
The mare pranced forward straight, and then began an airy-earthbound-fluid waltz of self-proclaimed pattern, head varying between thrusting towards the sky and bending down for a bite.  It rolled over and rubbed its back into the good-smelling grass unseen to the observers. They both chuckled silently.
"Now change it."
"Into what?"
"It's a shapeshifting horse, you deem its abilities. Be quick!"
The energy lost its distinct shape, and then the billowing mass formed into an eagle mid-flight. Unmoving, Loki glanced up at his mother to guess her intentions.
"That wasn't quite shapeshifting, just you changing your mind. Try again, be swift but also punctual."
The robust bird, while comfortably riding a gust of wind, had its legs thicken, two more limbs grow out, feather replaced by scales and rough skin, head grown and elongated.
"Better, but you made it easy. This is a heavy creature, it labours to stay afloat, so no more stopping. Again."
The sorcerer worked soundless and obedient on the fluent magic in his hand. Kicking legs and wings disappeared, body narrowed, giving place to a snake coiling fast in air or water. It thrashed about to keep in motion for the task; it curled up, biting its own tail. Loki suspected that it still wasn’t satisfying.
"Again," Frigga went on softly, her look on her son's tall forehead.
A ring of green fire was formed from the elongated body, cinder and smoke flying up from it.
"Again."
The flames twisted and coiled around each other, forming a tall, slender, pointed structure of two peaks. He deemed it too still but received no comment.
"Again."
Thor's lanky-muscular form, in a helmet with short horns and a nighttaur hide mantle danced around, as crazed and merry as the previous steed on the mesmerising flower field.
"Again."
Loki's eyebrows twitched when the mockery had no effect whatsoever. He was running out of ideas and growing fed up with her suspected dissatisfaction. The Thor in his palm multiplied this time, becoming several other figures, sharing the thunder god’s silly joy, now supported by both of the sorcerer’s palms. This had to do.
"There’s a feast," the Queen said.
The green eyes darted around on the marble floor for a second, and then the minuscule group became staggering drunk with ale.
"Is that how it goes?" she asked.
"Maybe."
"Each are different, and you're an excellent observer. Show me your skill."
Within a few seconds, one sat and behaved, another courted and groped servants, a third gobbled up things endlessly; others bashed weapons on table, danced, a few drank and laughed with each other, patting shoulders, kicking rears. Loki’s impish smile met Frigga’s above the scene. And then she finally took her chances.
"What about Lady Sif?"
"I never really looked." The answer came without hesitation.
"Do you think her insignificant?"
"She's one of a kind here. It's hard to predict how long she'll remain."
"Is it? Aren't you already thinking she'll be gone soon?"
“She might,” he responded evasively, staring at the silent ruckus among his fingers.
"Is it pity then why you so kindly heal her wounds?"
The teal seidr fell and disappeared for a second, only to rise again forming a tiered fountain.
"Yes."
“And if she was to stay?”
“Then I’ll lose faith in the Royal Army.”
This was as far as she risked pushing against his evasion. Her hands covered his shaped seidr, making it disappear as she engulfed his fingers to catch his look one last time.
“Don’t you ever be disrespectful to her, Loki,” she said, though her voice lacked any accusation.
“She’ll die in the first real war,” he breathed then.
“Is that what you observed?”
His head turned away, his hands escaped the captivity.
“It’s clear as daylight. A maiden doesn’t belong here.”
“What about the Valkyries?”
“They’re a separate race, Mother. They’re born to be warriors.”
“So was she.” She knew the disagreement in his silence. “If you hadn’t healed her wounds, I would have.”
“Out of pity?”
“No. Because she belongs here. Her valour is for a grand purpose. She is meant and willing to protect the next King.”
That would be Thor, Loki thought now, unless he came up with something to turn the tide. If there was a tide to turn at all, unlike he’d been feeling lately, although he was aware that it was all in his head. But the wait of these long years, the unseen end of it, the possibility of it all being in vain got the better of him on some days. He had nothing to lose with asking.
“Has Father decided yet?”
In response, she pulled him to herself, her forehead resting against his temple regardless of his permission. Her cool hand lay under his jaw affectionately, his frown of discomfort escaping her vision. But she wouldn’t have heeded it anyway while she was bent on hiding her own expression.
“I know it troubles you." She spoke in a hushed voice. "I am not to know which of you is worthier of leading our people, and I thank for that blessing every day. Do your best, Loki, work your hardest, become your best self, that is all you do. And we’ll see what’s coming. We’ll all se eventually. But always remember, it doesn’t matter to me who either of you becomes. Never doubt that I love you.”
He let her keep his forehead against hers for just a bit longer, and he afforded honesty for once.
"I won't, Mother."
