Dracula
DraculaBram Stoker | Signet | 1965 (originally published 1897) | 382 pages Reading Dracula again after several decades only reconfirms its rightful place in the pantheon of horror classics. The book opens with Jonathan Harker’s journal entries, which brilliantly introduces the reader into the sinister atmosphere of Castle Dracula. Harker’s realization that Dracula is perhaps not what he seems…

i can't believe i'm only just now thinking of this, but what if dain lied about not being willing to save violet at threshing bc he didn't want to admit to xaden — his wingleader — about any possibility of him ever breaking the codex? especially not where violet's involved. and especially when he had just been accusing xaden of the very same thing
xaden had his shield up through the whole convo so he wasn't reading him, and he not only expected dain's answer but wanted it, so he wouldn't have thought to question it. but unfortunately for dain, violet believed it too
it also explains dain's attempt at damage control later on, cause he tells violet "You have to know that I would do anything to save you, Violet, to keep you safe" but vi doesn't really give him a chance to finish

♡ Fourth Wing/ Iron Flame - Character List, Hierarchy Chart, and Bond/Signet Chart ♡
I made these to help those needing some info/ help while reading or curious about details! It may not be 100% but it is as accurate as possible. I noted characters and bonds as I read and felt the need to note so not all characters are listed but most important or seemingly plot significant are!
mostly spoiler free for anyone to use!

Violet’s second signet
Here me out, I could be wrong, but I think Violet’s second signet is tied to the runes.
Rebecca has said that Violet’s signet from Andarna has manifested and she uses it in Iron Flame. Well, every time Violet creates lightning, she consciously pulls from Tairn’s power.
And when do we see her consciously pull from the stream of Andarna’s magic in her Archives? When she’s creating the runes for class.
And signets are manifested out of the rider’s biggest need. What has been Violet’s strongest need the entire book? To buff the wards, to understand the lost magic of the runes that protect the people she loves. To know how everything works so she can make sure it can continue to work. And Andarna is significantly linked to the ward stones and runes.
I think Violet will be able to weave or create runes that most people can’t or that most people have forgotten about. They’re made from a lost language that she can read (one of the few who can).
And I think she’ll be able to combine both of her signets together to save the godsdamn world. She wields pure energy (that’s what her primary signet is) - who’s to say she wouldn’t be able to create a powerful enough rune embedded with that power and funnel pure energy, pure magic, back into the earth where it’s been stolen by venin?
A rider with the mind of a scribe.

Death Tour
Death TourDavid J. Michael | Signet | 1979 | 214 pages “Alligators? In the sewers?” That’s the question a misfit band of journalism students seeks to answer in a prospective article for a tabloid-style series printed in their college paper. Following a tip about an alligator bite, the gang gear up and head underground into the sewer system for their story. This variation on the teen-detectives…
