[ID: the corporate meme from the office. In the first panel Pam is holding up two photos. One photo shows Gabriel from Supernatural the other shows Martin Addison from Love Simon. bruh no one warned me about how much homework you get in 8th grade i feel beTrAYeD
i am seriously taking FOREVER to write the next goddamn fanfiction. like i’ve been at it for MONTHS but i just can’t seem to finish it even though i have the whole plot worked out. i don’t have as much writing spree moments as i did before.
i’m still gonna finish it though. i’m not gonna let this dry era go on for long. i’m gonna write a little everyday. not too much since i don’t wanna grow tired of writing and have it feel like a burden and nuisance.
baby steps ya know.

I need you to hear this: you are still you, Simon. And you are still the same son who I love to tease, and who your father depends on for just about everything. And you are still the same brother who compliments his sister on her food, even when it sucks. But you get to exhale now, Simon. You get to be more you than you have been in a very long time. You deserve everything you want.

So, Blue. I might not know your name or what you look like. But I know who you are. I know you're funny and thoughtful. That you choose your words carefully and that they're always perfect. And I know that you've been pretending for so long it's hard to believe you can stop. I get it. Like I told you at the very beginning, I'm just like you. So, Blue, after the play, Friday at 10:00, you know where I'll be. No pressure for you to show up, but I hope you do. Because you deserve a great love story too. Love, Simon.

Frog’s Five Reviews
June- LGBT Edition
I’m starting this new thing to encourage myself to post more/discuss books more. Basically, I’ll pick five books that I’ve read and apply them to a monthly theme, and then I review them!  This month is LGBT Pride month, so I’ve decided to review books with LGBT themes/romance.
Reviews under the cut.
1. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
Tumblr media
Carry On is one of the best YA novels that I’ve read this year. The humor, the conflict, and the romance are addicting. The blossoming relationship between Simon and Baz was perfect. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys enemies-to-lovers romance. I definitely can’t wait to read the sequel, Wayward Son, because Rainbow Rowell really showed out with this one.
Final Result- 4/5 Frogs! Some parts of the story are a little confusing or rushed, in my opinion, but otherwise it is almost perfect!
2. On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden
Tumblr media
On a Sunbeam reignited my love for graphic novels. Not only was the romance perfectly crafted, but so was the world! I can’t stress enough how incredible the worldbuilding is. Every romance showcased in this world is F/F and they’re all unique in their own way. I think this is a great novel for YA Fantasy and Sci-Fi readers.
Final Result- 5/5 Frogs! This stuck with me when I read it, and I recommend it to almost everyone I meet.
3. Bloom by Kevin Panetta and Savanna Ganucheau
Tumblr media
Yet another amazing graphic novel. Bloom takes place in a beautiful little town. As someone who loves baking and LGBT themes, this novel was perfect for me. Not a whole lot of conflict, and a whole lot of love! This was a bit of a short read for me, personally. But it didn’t make it any less stunning.
Final Result- 3/5 Frogs! This plot was more slice-of-life, which isn’t my particular favorite. I like seeing relationships progress through ups and downs, and this book didn’t have a whole lot of that. Even still, it was very sweet and I loved it.
4. It’s Not Like its a Secret by Misa Sugiura
Tumblr media
It’s Not Like its a Secret was sort of lackluster for me personally. I like the characters, but the romance feels so forced sometimes. I think this was the first time I ever wanted a female character to end up with the male love interest instead of the female love interest. I just feel like Sana, our main character, and Jamie, her love interest, just aren’t very likeable. Some may really like this book, which is great! I just feel like it’s not for some people.
Final Result- 2/5 Frogs.. I feel like the main characters didn’t shine like the rest of the characters in the novel. Maybe the plot needed to change a few things to make the main couple more likeable. I do, however, hope that someone really likes this book! It wasn’t my favorite, but maybe by including it I can introduce it to someone who might really enjoy it.
5. Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Tumblr media
Of course, I had to include Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda. It blew up in 2018, and rightfully so. With the movie coming out, many people within the LGBT community became very aware of it. We were all excited. And not only was the movie great, but the book was practically earth shattering. The romance and drama was absolutely spectacular. No element of LGBT youth is untouched, in my opinion. Becky Albertalli really blessed us with something incredible here. And the sequel, Leah on the Offbeat, is absolutely stunning as well. If I wasn’t so intent on not reviewing multiple books from one author in the same post, Leah’s story would have a spot here.
Final Result- 5/5 Frogs! This might be just my opinion, but I really thing Becky Albertalli knows how to write a good romance novel. All her books are incredible, but Simon has a special place in my heart.
Thanks for reading this super long review post! I’m going to try and do this once a month, between the 20th and 30th/31st (Or 28th, in February’s case). I was originally going to try for the 25th, but I can’t stick to a schedule like that.
If you have something you think I should read or an idea that you want to point out to change my mind about the review, then send me an ask!
