Mcbling Clothing CC dump

It's shockingly difficult to find 2000's style clothes for The Sims 3, so here's a list of items I've come across that I think do/can work for the Mcbling style. Some of the items are YA/A only, some will need CASt to really read Mcbling. This is not yet an exhaustive list, but I hope it helps others who are also finding it difficult to find cc they're looking for. CC under the cut!

Little announcement + lil unpopular opinions about The Sims

Hi guys ^^,

Im kinda on phase where i got things to do irl but also has tones ts2 cc's ideas in mind, im also replaying the sims 2 console ports (only the base game ones) and also Urbz.

I already played a few of them a while ago but want to play back to share a review and what i think about each of them when i'll finish them ( that was my small annoucement lmao ).

Now let's get to the unpopular opinions.

1 ) Not all packs are necessary (to me) :

I think that you can have a lot of fun without having all the expansions , i don't have all the packs in ts2 and i have so much fun , i think you also have to be delulu and use your imagination but tbh packs like Nightlife, University , Open for business and Seasons are enough for you to have a good game, same as ts3 i had the best experience with only 3 expansion packs.

2 ) Portals shouldn't be mistaken as spinoffs :

This might be only me who sees it that way but i don't consider a game console versions as "spin offs" but more of a different version of an individual game so when someone calls ts2 on psp a "spin off" it's kinda weird to me cause this isn't what a spin off is to me.

Spin offs games to me are individual games who's the same family as their original versions but have different names , aesthethic, options and stories but still have their original game's signature like Urbz, Mysims , Bustin out and more.

Franchises on console are just portals of the original pc version who have different contents based on different console systems.

3 ) I don't like what EA is doing with The Sims but sometimes i understand them not listening to simmers :

I'm not defending the mess they're doing however sometimes looking at some of their amazing previous projects that never came to light due to the public's bad opinions i do understand some reasons.

Around the 00's The Sims team was at it's highest when it comes to creativity and a lot of people slept on some of their creative works like Urbz which was a game that was so ahead of it's time but sadly had low sells and was called "repetitive" by a gaming site critic which i tbh thought the game was actually very fluid when it comes to contents.

Because of this a sequel of it that could've possibly be about nightclubs and could've have kids in it got cancelled.

The team was giving people authenticity and a big part of people weren't here for it now some people are begging for this to be back but if people didn't slept on it back at it's release maybe creativity from EA would've still been around.

I still have hope that one day the team will get back to authenticity after people will stop give them too much cashes and after they'll realize that what's "trendy" isn't always what people want.

Btw when i say "a lot" i'm not trying to make generalization i don't mean everyone, a lot of people also did like creative contents in the past from the team but a lot of people prefer what's realistic and neutral over what's authenthic and goofy.

Sims 2 UC update!!!

First, sorry this took a bit and for how long it is lol

After doing many tests (with ultimate collection), my theory about using my two drivers on my computer was correct!

As I stated before, I have a display driver and a driver for performance. So I changed my graphics rules maker settings. But here are the trials I did because I tried some different things.

Trial One (4018 MB / texture memory based on my performance driver)

I loaded in the neighborhood laggy

able to go to CAS and make a pet and a sim

there was pink flashing in CAS but it didn't mess with the game as a whole

was able to load into a lot and got to decorate some

the game eventually crashed when I added lights lol

Trial Two (128 MB / texture memory based on my display driver)

loading into the game (especially with all the cc I have), is going good and normal, but was slower compared to 4018 MB

The neighborhood view was pretty smooth.

loaded in a household pretty quick

I decided to play as normal and got minimal to no lag

I was able to decorate a full apartment and played that home lot

they eventually went out and talked with Sims (there were t-posing pink flashes though lol)

but there was no crashing! I played for hours and left the game when I was ready to leave, which is HUGE!!!

Trial Three & Four (put the GraphicsRule.sgr files from S2Legacy in the UC files / one from the Jan31st launch, the other from the Feb4th update / also incorporated this line of code in the files: "boolProp disableTexMemEstimateAdjustment true”)

Jan31st File: - load times are decent/good - CAS too awhile to load - household load times are quick - I created a sim, but when I tried to make a pet, the game crashed :(

Feb4th Updated File: - very quick load time into the game - CAS loaded much slower lol - able to spawn a pet/sim - clicked to change the hair color and the game crashed lol

Trial Five (2073 MB / added both of my texture memories together and divided the sum by two)

kinda a bonus trial because I was curious lol

pretty good load time

smooth launch into the neighborhood

CAS loaded decently / but there was pink soup

was able to click on things and move forward in CAS

sim was able to move in and no immediate issues in live mode

things seemed okay, but it also felt unstable as well

At this point, the best result I got was 128 MB (the texture memory of the display diver). So I did about 3-4 more playtests with that amount and the results are GREAT!!!

In one playthrough, I played for about two hours, there was no crashing yet there were minor pink flashes.

In another playthrough, I played as normal from 12:00 am to 3:30 am / there was NO CRASHING AND NO PINK SOUP AT ALL!

I've played twice since then, and I've gotten the same experience! no crashing, soup, or anything!

I also played around in Bodyshop with 128 MB and dealt with no crashing there too!

I'm honestly so happy that I can say that! LIKE?!?!?!? 😭

With the Sims 2, you definitely gotta find the right balance for everything based on your computer. So not only would I free up memory on your computer, but definitely pay attention to the amount of texture memory your driver(s) offer based on what Graphics Rule Maker says. I wouldn't use auto-detect unless it ends up working for you.

But I will say even after the above findings, I sometimes still deal with pink soup and crashing. But sometimes, I can play without those issues at all!

So, idk if pink soup and crashing will ever be fixed lol. I kinda doubt it at this point but who knows! Sims 2 has a time where it works and other times it doesn't want to work at all but I love the game too much to leave it!

But here is everything I did as a whole!

Followed Tip 5 from this post (and I used this article as a guide)

I did 25,000 as my minimum and 30,000 as my maximum (I would stick to this amount completely)

I did a couple of things from this video tutorial to free up some RAM/Memory.

Based on the video above, I updated my visual performance, disabled some startup apps and services, and optimized my browser (this is more custom / disable and enable what's best for your computer / I also changed my browser since then, but the same rule applies / I also made sure that when my computer restarts, it frees up memory.)

I updated my Graphics settings for the Sims 2's .exe file. I made sure it used my performance driver to make sure the game ran stable.

In Graphics Rule Maker, I chose 128 MB as my force texture memory to make sure the visuals of the game itself are stable as well.

NOTE: I might test out Sims 2 Legacy because ik people play it and I'm curious myself, but I honestly think the same steps I did above (except for GRM) will apply. S2Legacy seems to have a set GraphicsRule file so I think changing it may cause issues (based on personal experience).

I hope you’re doing well! I wouldn’t say it’s easy to *turn* a bedding into a crib bedding, but it’s pretty easy to make crib beddings, and since I still have these patterns 🤷‍♀️ I can do some crib bedding with them

1. What’s your favorite world in any sims game? Best looking is by far TS1's Magic Town. Plus Makin' Magic introduced gardening which I was obsessed with.

Favorite premade neighborhood in TS2 is Strangetown, as it has the best story and also aliens, ghosts and mad scientists. You know, the good stuff.

Dude. Too long. Early 00's. I got into it after playing TS1 with my cousin and found out she was a CC maker. And as I explained here, my Girl Scout leader's daughter had TS1 and I envied it.

I might be in the minority on this, but I love Bon Voyage! I love sending sims on vacation, they deserve it.

Actually, I won’t just leave that in my tags.

Clothes creators, PLEASE for the love of Bob Pancakes consider making your clothes for both frames. Not just by unclicking the frame and gender restrictions in S4S. Using the actual meshes themselves.

It is soul-sucking to not have many options for representing trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, or genderfluid sims.

Five Sisters Vases: BGC Deco by @thesimsblues

I wanted to get some practice making meshes from scratch in Blender, so I hunted down a nice little photo of some white ceramic vases and did my best to emulate them. Size them up, size them down, stick stuff in them--even stack them! These versatile friends will do it all.

As a Metro Detroiter, I’d like to encourage you to celebrate the Trans Day of Visibility by supporting some LGBTQ+ communities and causes in my area.

Here’s a great article from BLAC Detroit about Detroit’s Black transgender community.

Here are some organizations that support LGBTQ+ Detroiters:

Trans Sistas of Color Project - Detroit: Created by and for trans women of color, this project supports community members with finances, housing, medication access, and so on.

Ruth Ellis Center: Named after Ruth Ellis, a Black lesbian who advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, the REC provides resources and support for all members of the Detroit LGBTQ+ community but especially focuses on LGBTQ+ youth.

LGBT Detroit: A community center for LGBTQ+ Detroiters, the organization provides counseling services as well as support groups.

Please take the time to donate to all of these organizations -- or any of your local trans rights and support organizations.

Can someone take me back to the 90s? Or back to the decade where the 90s was only 10 years ago? If you played The Sims, not with a 2, 3, or 4 after the title but The Sims while you were in high school we’re probably in the same age range. And if so, you might agree that the 90s still feel like they were 10 years ago. Oh the days. But man, the 90s is one year shy of two decades ago. Wtf. Anywayyyy, I saw @ridgeport‘s knotted crop top and was immediately reminded of the day where it was the thing to tie your normal length shirt into a knot because you loved it too much to cut it shorter, but also wanted to fit in with the trend. I don’t know about where you lived in your high school years, but here in the midwest of America tie-dye was very popular in the early 00s.  We all wanted to feel like we were still in the previous decade, so we had an excessive amount of tie-dye shirts that we either bought or made. Some of us even cut them up in creative ways. Frills, anyone? I have never in my life made an article of clothing tie-dye, but over the weekend I made one for our sims because why not? Memories of the 90s bring a buttload of nostalgia (including the one day when I was sitting on the living room floor with my friends and out of no where my mom looked and me and said “those pants are bitchin’”) and maybe we just want to give our sims bitchin’ clothes of the 90s to bring that sense of nostalgia to them. @sims-enthusiast put her amazing skills to work by building an entire record store just to model and shoot this top for me. She’s so wonderful, I’m pretty sure she’s become my official photographer. I can never thank her enough! <3 Here’s the cut

Are you a mermaid?: Sure! I live in a coastal town & was a huge mermaid & dolphin girl as a kid, even had an underwater/dolphin themed bedroom. These days my vibe is more witch-y than mermaid-y, but I’m down with being any kinda cool fantasy lady, haha

Your play style: It’s a mix, yeah! I tend to play with a lot of structure (rounds, challenges, etc.) but keep the rules pretty loose & optimise more for storytelling than anything. It varies a lot between saves and sometimes even between families, haha.

Your Simself picture: Gosh, I haven’t played with a simself in forever... here’s one from 2015, lmao:

She doesn’t really look anything like me since I wasn’t the best at faces in those days, and my style has definitely changed in the last 5 years (although the hair isn’t all that different) so maybe I’ll make a new one, just for fun?

It’s the only time of year I really get together with my extended family. I also love the food, the decorations, the lights, Christmas pantos, classic films on TV, ghost stories... it’s got it all, imo!

How was your day?: So far so good! It’s been a weekend of having absolutely no plans (courtesy of corvid-19, heh) and just kinda relaxing. It’s a worrying time in a way but it’s also been nice to not have to worry about cramming as much as possible into the weekend & just being, yknow?

Your favorite career: I like running a OFB career the best but other than that... maybe crime, haha?

Which Sims games have you played (including mobile games)?:Definitely TS2 is the one I’ve played the most of, but I’ve also played all the other mainline games... TS1 was only at friend’s houses, never got into TS4, but I have played a lot of TS3.

We never had a PC as a kid so I’ve played looooooads of the console ones. On the PS2 The Sims, Bustin’ Out, Sims 2, The Urbz (the best one.) Also the Sims 2 DS game & PSP games. Those are both pretty great. I also played the Sims 3 Wii game which was fucking terrible, haha.

Propose a crazy scheme: Bring back round robin legacies where a different simmer plays each generation

Best part of simblr: The community spirit is great, everyone is always eager to help each other and the level of creativity is just wow

Worst part of simblr:Sometimes I miss how much people commented in the old LJ days - without “threads” in comments it’s much harder to build friendships on Tumblr without going out of your way to message people, which is always a bit intimidating! 

What other games you play?: I don’t play that many other games because I like the Sims 2 so much, but me and my boyfriend generally play through a couple of games together each year... mostly the Zelda and Final Fantasy series. I also play 00s era Sonic games weekly with one of my friends, haha. They are kind of crappy in a lot of ways but hold so much charm for me, I just love them... in general I like visual novels, mysteries, puzzles, adventures & anything with a good story. Not so big on anything very large and open-world, or first-person.

Other favourites include Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon (had to quit this one cold turkey lmao), TWEWY, the 999 games & Phoenix Wright.

I’m Alfrett, 32, from CDMX and ... finally i’m here! This is my first tumblr ever.

During this quarantine i’ve been thinking about in creating some web content ... but i didn’t knew what to post, until the last month i bought The Sims 4 and i started playing again.

Since the 00′s i’ve been playing The Sims and i was pretty young when i started playing (i was in middle school) then when The Sims 3 was released i was studying at University (yeah! Architecture because The Sims inspired me and the game developed that creativity and passion i had)

It’s weird but today i work in Marketing (events, PR, brand experiences, BTL, etc) and maybe you’re saying at this moment: “why?” ... and yes, i’m still wondering why, but i like it too and it was an opportunity that came to me and i took “the risk”... so architecture is today like “my hobby” and of course i love it and it takes a big part of my free time: photography, reading, Youtube, Pinterest ... and building in The Sims!

Building in The Sims: for me is SO RELAXING! i enjoy to build or decorate any kind of lot since i remember in the first Sims game. If you’re an architect or interior designer you’ll understand that difference between rendering and playing The Sims hahaha ;)

So that’s it! I’ll be posting my Sims lots and game play stories, so i can share them, is always cool to show and share our game. Maybe one day i’ll try the TSR Workshop to create many CC but i don’t know yet.

Also i’ll be posting my inspirations from Architecture, Marketing, Fashion, Design and whatever i like to share with you in this tumblr :)

A Spazi Save File

This is probably quite ambitious of me, but I've been pondering creating a save file for a while now.

It actually started a year ago, when I wanted to create a custom Sims 2 neighborhood, but then I couldn't get passed the fact that Sims 2 doesn't have universal aging. Then I went over to the Sims 3 and realized that CAW was just too much for me to wrap my head around. Now here I am, back to the Sims 4, and seeing @lilsimsie and @Plumbella sharing their own save files I've gotten the inspiration to work on my own.

TL;DR: I wanted to make custom world and went through S2 and S3 before coming back to S4.

The thing is, I'm quite OCPD and I don't just want a Sims 4 "EA style" save file. I want the depth we got in the previous two iterations of the Sims. Like how the S2 families had ancestors, and prearranged scenarios (not sure how well that will work in S4). I also want to incorporate every aspect of each expansion, game and stuff pack released so far. So there'll be clubs, older sims will have character value traits and reward traits, there'll be retail stores and restaurants, and well, as much of everything that I can cram into it.

In addition, I'd love to incorporate a few mods. Notably @zerbu's Turbo Careers and Go to School, because active careers and school are awesome. And also my own (unreleased for now) mod which makes seasons last 8 days, so that the holidays and seasons don't always fall on the same days each year. Other than a few mods, I anticipate that this save will be CC free so that it should survive updates.

I expect my households to be inspired by fictional characters from the likes of Disney, Harry Potter and various TV shows and movies I've watched.
