CAS Challenge Day 28 - Halloween, but make it thoty

This one took quite a bit of cc hunting. May I present, our gorgon goddess of Halloween Bristol Thot. She aspires to be a social media star, is a glamorous materialistic sugarbaby that loves paparazzi, oh and she also has the self-absorbed trait.

The Sims 4 studio team who did research for For Rent EP definitely taking many references from Thailand and Malaysia.

Boat = Thailand.

Colourful diamond-shaped lanterns hanging on cafe = Vietnam. (It's not Chinese lantern, very different).

Gazebo Rooftop = Thailand.

Squat toilet = universal Southeast Asian "traditional" toilet. Actual Southeast Asian style throw the water using Gayung as water container to the toilet to flush the toilet.

Painting on The Screaming Gecko cafe, there is image of temple. It is Thai temple. Wat Phra Kaew.

NASI LEMAK, the famous national Malaysian dish, Finally EA updated the correct mesh. And adding Coconut Rice to the menu which is not accurate.

There is no such thing as "Coconut Rice" in Southeast Asian cuisine. I asked fellow Indonesian Sims player and real life people from Indonesia and Malaysia... They are confused and don't know what is "Coconut Rice."

Apologize from EA accepted. So far the complaint via Malaysian youtube influencer worked. The only interesting about this Nasi Lemak 3D model is the texture. Too realistic for The Sims 4 food. As it is more suitable for The Sims 3 food texture without looking too cartoon. I can easily recognize nasi, ikan teri, ayam, sambal, ketimun, kacang, dan telur.

Painting on cafe wall. Beer and... Tiger? What's EA trying to say... Is it Tiger Beer? Beer from Singapore?

Tiger Statue. In Indonesia, there are many Tiger statues displayed on the public street and in front of military building. There was "Cisewu Tiger Statue." from Indonesia became viral on internet, due to its funny-looking tiger statue looks like laughing.

Thailand Dragon fountain statue. Yes, dragon in Southeast Asia is depicted as water serpent creature. The color is right, Green and gold. Definitely not eyesore in red colour like The Sims 3 Shang Simla Chinese dragon statue.

Dragons have long symbolized power, creativity, heaven, and good fortune. Thai culture also believes that dragons have authority over bodies of water, rain, floods, and storms.

Wet Market = universal Southeast Asian market. There are always fresh fish, seafood, and chicken sold on the market stall.

once I've moved past my current plan for the week I should definitely draw a visual for that still-unnamed dating sim joke project. Since it's not a joke anymore. But until then I should probably write down a little blurb about each character in it.

Godfrey Ainsworth. The renowned professor of biology and the effects of the divine upon it, a priest of the goddess of knowledge and the moon and an accomplished mage. An elder naga(1) philim(2) who rarely sets aside time for things other than his research or teaching, because he's too engrossed in it.

Alec Faustus. A young philim priest of the goddess of life and agriculture, seemingly far from home at the Jadena(3) magic university. Alternating personalities and a pair of mismatched eyes, haunted by some recent past he chooses not to speak on.

Reid Thomel. A human mercenary and blacksmith from the Adventurer's Guild branch in Smaragden(4) and your traveling companion to the city. Still much of a stranger to you, but a very friendly and well-connected one.

Orion. A mysterious aleph(5) from the far north who claims to be a deity on earth. They are powerful, yes, but not enough to be a god. After all, they are more than just their hands. Their white hands blessed by the goddess of winter and death. Emotionless and uninterested in others, it's up to you to make yourself worth having interest in.

Chloe Sialia. A powerful philim vampire(6) mage sating some craving for knowledge at the university despite having the knowledge to be an instructor instead. His age and power is far from the usual of his kind, seeming even more inhuman than he already is, but that humanity in him is not completely buried just yet.

Celeste Parrya. A rabbitfolk philim mage who claims to be taught by one of the god candidates themselves. She excels at time magic and would be an exemplary healer, and yet she does not pursue that path. She is simply aimless in her goals, accompanied by a man who is her entire opposite.

Mab. An Eldest of the First World of Golarion, a Queen of.... hey wait a minute that's the wrong setting! The fey queen of ice has been isekai'd, and well, she's completely unfamiliar with the world and especially its dragons. I'm sure with time she'll find a way back. Better question is how would she react to meeting the alternate universe versions of her children..?

Setting Glossary/Footnotes under cut:

(1) Naga - a person with the lower body of a serpent. An offshoot of Philim that became their own race. Name not final.

(2) Philim - a person born with the influence of a Devil. There are few overlapping traits between philim, but if enough are born from a specific devil's influence they can become a standalone offshoot.

(3) Jadena - the holy city of the goddess of knowledge and the moon and home to the largest university on the continent. It is home to many powerful mages and priests, sometimes both at the same time, and is the largest source of enchanted items.

(4) Smaragden - a city in the mountains known for its endless rainy season, theorized to be caused by a dragon. Many adventurers flock here in hopes of seeing the dragon, and to meet the three god candidates that live here.

(5) Aleph - DID YOU THINK I WAS GOING TO MAKE ELVES NORMAL? NO. Aleph are the longer lived of the pointed-ear folk. Their ears have a notable S curve and their hair and eyes shift with their emotions.

(6) Vampire - a philim offshoot that is the exception to the rule. Vampires are created either at the time of a mortal's death when the Devil of Undeath exerts his influence, or when another vampire kills a mortal with the intent to turn them. They are each defined by one of the seven deadly sins, which can be directed but the influence of that sin on each vampire cannot be ignored.

I'm not elaborating on rabbitfolk. You get it.

Like just. Tiny Dragon!Marius being lifted up. I can't get that out of my head.

For one due to that looooong cat meme I made, for two just... it's so funny. Like Marius von 188 cm and towering over everyone just becomes the tiniest most precious and very much traumatized dragon alive and some part of me find that very funny and some other part of me find that very sad.

also i just want you to know that has influenced my sims 4 gameplay (bc of course i made the von hagen family. no trauma because i can't seem to find that one in game and frankly they die too easily), and that's why i made him a mermaid because... ok look water creatures, close enough, there's no "descended from dragon".

(I also hc that Marius can turn into like, a long ass fucking python and his favorite thing as a python is cuddles. like he's just a big ass snake that likes to lie down on you and/or chill under your clothes in winter because it's always too cold. 90% of the times it's Luke or Rosa being squished by the Marius Python. Artem is really kind of scared but willing to do it and Vyn comes in one day with a long tube thing, throws it in Human!Marius' face and goes "there, now stop whining about being cold" because yeah he made a whole ass python sweater)

I am so so very late at this response by if that aint an in depth lore explanation over something I didn’t know existed and am now more confused about because I have so many questions, then I don’t know what is. Muitas vezes, o que impede os homens de se envolverem sinceramente na adoração (e na liturgia) é aquela velha armadilha: o medo do homem (Provérbios 29:25). “O que as pessoas vão pensar se eu cantar bem alto? Como será se eu levantar as mãos durante a doxologia? Eu… ajoelhar-me para orar? Tudo bem... mas vou garantir que todos saibam que acho isso estranho.”

Irmãos e pais, quando cultuamos no Dia do Senhor, estamos entrando na sala do trono do Rei da Glória que nos comprou com sangue. Se existe algum lugar onde o temor do Senhor deveria engolir o medo do homem, é aqui.

Às vezes, o que nos impede de adorar com alegria robusta é que não estamos “sentindo isso” e “não queremos ser falsos”. Isso tem um verniz de nobreza. Mas não é nobre. É uma desculpa boba, e uma idolatria séria, na pior da hipóteses. Se não estamos “sentindo”, precisamos dizer aos nossos “sentimentos” o que Cristo disse uma vez a Pedro: “Para trás de mim, você é um obstáculo para mim! Tenho trabalho para fazer aqui! “Liturgia” significa literalmente “o trabalho do povo”. Sim, a adoração é uma delícia, mas também é um dever para o cristão.

“ Portanto, já que estamos recebendo um Reino inabalável, sejamos agradecidos e, assim, adoremos a Deus de modo aceitável, com reverência e temor, pois o nosso "Deus é fogo consumidor!" (Hebreus 12:28)

Outra coisa, se você deixa seus sentimentos ditarem sua postura de adoração é porque você está esquecendo um princípio básico: “Sentimentos” muitas vezes são o resultado, e não o fator preponderante, da simples obediência.

Como disse o pastor Evandro Rosa certa vez: “se você canta alto no estádio e não na igreja, está adorando ao Deus errado” é por aí.
