Something different today! I play Sjofn (Freya's grandmother) on Kentucky Roleplay, a project zomboid server that doesn't have zombies and focuses on building a community. She's quickly become a bit of a farming matriarch haha

Eir, she was the gods' physician, and

Vor was the goddess of wisdom.

Sjofn was the goddess of love and

Lofn was the goddess of marriage and the deities' conforter.

I have been writing up the next post for my Handmaidens Project, about Lofen & Siofen, counterparts to Lofn & Sjöfn, to coincide with Pride month and I'm just. feeling very emotional rn. queer love and queer sex and queer community is so sacred you guys. it really is.

UPG - Sjofn, the sweet.

In spending time in the lovely company of lady Sjofn, these are the things I've experienced and learned. Of course, keep in mind these are all pure UPG, as our attestations of her are very scarse. Still, we have amazing Ásynjur in the Norse pantheon, who unfortunately we know very little about, and thus need to rely on modern hands-on experiences. I hope to contribute to the conversation by sharing my personal experiences.

SJOFN

Overview: Lady Sjofn and I started on the wrong foot - I approached her with a million questions and that was the wrong method altogether. I then set aside the tarot questionnaire, apologized for my crude demeanor, and that's when we truly began to bond. Lady Sjofn at first felt a bit gloomy, there was a sensation of sorrow, but as we grew more used to each other's energies, she began to feel quieter, more reserved, but also gentle, caring, and with childlike curiosity. She has a very sweet sense of humor, and feels like she enjoys tranquility.

Suggested Domain: Affection, love.

Colors: Brown, gold, lavender, salmon.

Runes: Gebo, Fehu, Isa.

Tarot: Temperance.

Crystal: Rose quartz, amethyst.

Other elements: Amusement parks, cotton candy, candied apple, pumpkin seeds, eating seads, poppy flowers, poppy seeds, picnics, soft grass, warmth, pillows, plushies.

4. Top 5 Locations?

A tough question! There are so many beautiful and awesome locations in xiv it's hard to slim it down.

1) The Silver Bazaar, Western Thanalan

A fairly ordinary location, all told, but it holds a special place in my heart as it was where I did my first set of very intentional gposing. Still remember waiting around forever for a clear night sky so I could capture Ard doing some star gazing at the cliffs. It's also the location I later returned to when posing tools started becoming a thing to play with a couple characters relaxing at the edge of the docs.

2) Amarout

I get this is definitely a cheat answer because it captured a lot of people because of the Reveal and story implications, but I also just love it so much for the fantasy-tinged modernist architecture and detailing.

3) The underwater section of the Lochs

Just seeing the salt-encrusted remains of old Ala Mhigo is equally stunning and chilling; haunting in a similar way to Pompeii. And the shining salt crystals floating about like stars... it's really enchanting.

4) Lakeland

Look man, it's a bright purple forest strewn with ruins, I don't know what else to say. I'm a sucker for this kind of shit.

5) Hidden Tear, The Peaks

I've always thought this structure was really pretty, and it struck me the first time I wandered up there. I really need to find an excuse to do some gposing up there...

Lofns emotional support sibling. She’s going to be Lofns “keeper” , generally the one to make sure Lofn doesn’t give into her faerie nature too much ( like she has been doing). 

Kind of the opposite of Freyja. Still a love goddess but she chooses her battles more wisely. And she’s not as short tempered. 

Has one child. 

Has a female wolf companion ( actual wolf ).

Parents: Deceased. Both parents passed due to ill health around 10 years before Indie's adventuring career began. They were older parents, at least in their late forties when Indie came along. For some reason I can only picture her parents as Lalas when I try to imagine what they'd look like (that's not canon Indie lore yet).

Grandparents: Deceased. Indie has few but very fond memories of them.

In-laws and Other: Indie was widowed just a few years before setting off for Ul'dah, which was actually the main motivator for the journey. Indie married a fairly high ranking Imperial Officer (the controversy) who was executed for his, uh, military misconduct. It's a long story, not for here.
