Where is all began
So I can’t say I remember the exact age I started picking but I know I was around 8. I started picking my fingers like around the first knuckle and I would pick my lips. I would feel the dry skin as I ran my finger across it and even though I would put some chapstick in or lotion, it didn’t seem to go away. So I would pick. My lips would bleed and if you ever pick your lips it is hard to get them to stop bleeding.
My knuckles on the other hand were sometimes a little harder. But I have ridges and bumps that are now permanent to prove that I used to pick them. I don’t pick there much anymore because I have moved on to other areas and that is a more painful area. For those who do suffer from skin picking I hope you use these words to also look for help.

CAN I HAVE ANXIETY ALOPECIA DUE TO CORONAVIRUS?
While many people think of this as hair loss, it’s actually hair shedding. The medical name for this type of hair shedding is telogen effluvium. It happens when more hairs than normal enter the shedding (telogen) phase of the hair growth lifecycle at the same time. Fever or illness can force more hairs into the shedding phase.

My hormones have been fuhckin crazy lately. I had to get a new IUD put in and this is just one of the side effects I've been battling. I've been dealing with hormonal acne for the past couple years, but this is the worst it's ever been. I went ahead and called the manufacturer, just to see if this was normal. Apparently, it is. So until i figure out how to remedy this....
Before and After (4 week difference)
I've been using the tea tree oil/coconut oil combo as a moisturizer after washing with Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power-Creame Wash b/c it was cheaper than the Stubborn Acne kind that I normally like to use. It did the job! (Sometimes I use these as shower wash too)
The key🔑is to leave the face wash on for about a 1 minute, before rinsing it off!!

Awesome new fidgets from @kaikofidgets: Meet my newest fidget! Spikey! Rolls up and down the finger providing firm & tactile feedback. Also touted to stimulate acupressure points! Especially good for skin/finger pickers due to the ‘bitey’ nature of the sensory feedback. Available on my website #kaikofidgets #skinpicking #skinpickingdisorder #fidgets #fidgettoys #sensorytools #add #autism #dyslexia https://www.instagram.com/p/B1-GCLbhRrg/?igshid=1m013zwk50wl8

We love Millennial Task Force member Nick Santamorena's #SeeMeStand submission - they did a great job! Want to help us raise BFRB Awareness? Submit to our #SeeMeStand campaign - if you post on social media, you have a chance at winning a cool prize! More details at www.bfrb.org/seemestand #Repost @beat.nick (@get_repost) ・・・ Once upon a time I thought I was the only one in the world who pulled out my hair and picked at my skin. I would have never believed that there were thousands of people just like me. It was through the hard work and dedication of @tlcbfrb that I discovered I was part of 2 to 4% of the population that also picks their skin and pulls out their hair. I know that there are countless people out there who still feel this way and I want them to know they are not alone. Please help me raise awareness for #BFRBs and show others that they are not alone. #seemestand and with me. #skinpickingdisorder #dermatillomania #trichotillomania #tlcbfrb #bfrb #BFRBWeek

What a difference one month makes. I'm not wearing any makeup in the picture on the right. I've been a lot better about washing my face lately and not picking, despite all of the stress. #dermatillomania #ocd #skinpickingdisorder #mentalhealth

Just a reminder to those suffering that you're still beautiful with your scars. This is currently what my face looks like from picking. I have a disorder that goes by many names like dermatillomania, skin picking disorder, chronic skin picking... and the list goes on. Some of us wear our scars on our skin and some of us wear them inside. #showyourscars #anxietyawareness #ocd #impulsecontroldisorder #dermatillomania #chronicskinpicking #skinpickingdisorder #skinpickingawareness

I was supposed to see the counselor a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t think I was ready yet because I still working on things to keep my hands busy. At home I have been working on Perler beads any chance I have. I have been trying to keep my nails short as well. In the car I have been trying to do other things like have putty or something.
With my migraines I started taking magnesium. I have had some really bad ones because of the weather. I had one yesterday that had been bothering me off and on. I try not to take medicine unless I absolutely have to. My insurance finally approved me for Cambia, because I tried other medicines. It helps so much but was expensive.

. . . . . #trichotillomania #alopecia #trich #bfrb #hairpulling #hairloss #trichotillomaniaawareness #mentalhealth #skinpicking #bfrbawareness #ocd #dermatillomania #microblading #hairlosssolution #mentalhealthawareness #nailbiting #eyebrows #trichotillomaniarecovery #bfrbs #wigs #excoriationdisorder #bodyfocusedrepetitivebehaviors #hairpullingdisorder #anxiety #skinpickingdisorder #excoriation #brows #alopeciaareata #beauty #bhfy (em JK Shopping DF) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMusf_VBs0V/?igshid=3g9iwjbbfkuc
