even MORE MM/light OOT hcs

lots of kishin this time, dunno how that happened! (lie)

WF stands for written for, which just means i've had the time to explore the idea a bit in writing.

kishin is very fond of rabbits, due to their connection to the moon. additionally, he’d also be very fond of blupees!

(WF) the interior of the moon was a gift from the goddesses, to kishin specifically. he had cherished it as a meditative ground and a sparring space when given the time to shrink away. it used to have more things in it than just a tree.

(WF) after the events of the game, he often brings link and occasionally skulkid and the fairies up to let them play or teach them things.

link tends to have odd sleeping hours, and is often up several times a night. i like to think there’s some kokiri-rooted remedy for it, seeing as they’re all children, who would likely have somewhat weird sleep patterns — perhaps the great deku tree happened to come up with something for them that grows in the woods?

kishin and tatl do not particularly get along, she’s too mouthy for his liking, and he’s older than dirt.

(WF) tael greatly admires both link and kishin, and is prone to following them around out of curiosity. he wants to learn courage, but he’s much too shy to ask them directly.

link has learned how to tell time from the position of the sun or moon in the sky, similarly to a sundial. this was learned loosely in OOT, and was helpful in MM. he has also gotten used to tracking time in the back of his head, starting immediately every reset. maybe the spirits help with that?

because he is still alive, kafei’s fate is reversed when majora is put in place again, so he and anju end up a normal, wed couple! by the time link returns to termina (about a few months - a year after,) they’re running the inn together.

also, i like to think link asked the banker to leave any of his remaining savings to anju, to fix the inn up. not knowing what was gonna happen after, he at least wanted something nice for her. she’d constantly leave one special room open for him, hoping he’d return one day.

romani initially called link “fairy boy,” but he was very adamant on the fact that tatl is not his, and insisted on a different name - hence romani analyzing him as a person, and getting “grasshopper.”

as confident in his speech as he is, link tends to be rather quiet. partially out of prior bullying and shyness, but also because changing ages and forms so drastically makes him feel awkward about his voice.

also, he likely has some little speech impediment due to what i’d imagine is a very limited vocabulary among kokiri. at the very least, some words would simply not come to him easily, no matter how well he knows them.

the boy doesn’t bother with cutting his hair anymore, and actually quite enjoys braiding it, as it gives him something to do. also, he likes accessories. little trinket hoarder.

also also, maybe it’s part of kokiri culture to just… be decorated. i’m definitely still working on thoughts for them, but i like the idea of them being very proud of what they collect, and enjoying showing it off. maybe it’s a status thing too, i dunno.

fairies would play into that, often bringing their kokiri things from the woods or outside world overnight! saria and her fairy always brought link gifts, maybe even giving the illusion of things being left for him in an innocent hope driving manner.

(WF) link tends to pick at things to keep himself busy, especially when stressed or simply being spoken to, as children often may. for example, he might look away and twist grass around him if sitting down talking to someone, or will begin to fuss about his outfit, adjusting his gloves or belt with absolutely no reason aside from keeping busy.

(unsure, still brewing) skullkid and link meant their “friends forever” pact. i like to think the skullkid we see in twilight princess is a sort of changed form of the one in majoras mask (either due to twilight or other means)and he leads that game’s link to the master sword as part of a promise he made with the hero’s shade, who is still so disturbed by his experience with the sword that he cannot bring himself to do it.

kishin takes link under his wing so quickly and with so much enthusiasm and protectiveness because he sees much of his old self in link, both in ways that make him feel proud/happy, but also deeply upset for the boy. plus, he never got to be a father in his own time (probably,) so link is healing for him in that aspect as well.

majora still likes to dance, and kishin still has his drum. perhaps certain lunar events in termina are tied to this? i’d like to give them more involvement in the moon’s behavior. 

kishin has very questionable, old eating habits. as he likely does with everything… being gone so long, he’s still learning how to live again, especially in a new time.

link thrives for puzzles. this started as an adult in ocarina of time, likely in the forest temple, and he came to LOVE them! as such, he’s a pretty good problem solver. if he can think straight, that is.

link experiences frequent déjà-rêvé (already dreamed.) his prophetic dreams ended up watering down into itty bitty glances at the future. eventually the seen snippet happens, and he just kind of sits there like “oh, hey, i dreamed i’d have this exact conversation with malon last week. freaky.” and then moves on.

speaking of malon, he helps her out on the farm and comes to see her often. talon tries to make link something safe to eat, but link usually makes sure to eat before he goes, or will pack some food.

even though he isn’t a kokiri, fairies ADORE link. they feel drawn to his kind spirit - they simply cannot stay as bound companions. he doesn’t mind traveling with them, though.

kishin is oddly expressive with body language in comparison to hylians and terminians, just in more subtle ways. his ears tend to move more often and drastically, and he’s a person that talks with his hands. remnants of being close to his people, and having to be clear when explaining things to them. probably just a god quirk. i also don’t see the deities having much of a gender going on, they’re just kind of whatever, whenever. majora especially though.

keatons know a lot, probably too much. so, perhaps they were given their signature closed eyes at some point to prevent them from snooping in the gods business as much as they might have in the past. i think they’re also probably symbols of majora, in some way…

link still hangs out with the bombers, and even got them on better terms with skullkid after the game. having friends to play with while link’s away helps keep him busy! i like to think link managed to get lots of clock town’s residents to warm up to him eventually, and skullkid to behave a little better.

(WF) kishin has a very soothing voice, and will often hum some song to link or one of his friends if they are upset. it’s a grounding method he learned as a warrior ages ago, and it works quite well on link in particular.
