This part of their slam interview has always been my fav and i so wish they had included it in the video:
“I guess—that’s not how I remember,” Azzi responds while laughing. “I remember I was really shy, so when we were on the plane, I was kind of forced to talk to her. But then when we got back with my grandparents, she was just with us a lot. We would go to the gym. I had, like, a new workout partner, and I loved working out with her. Then from there, she just tagged along with my family. She was a part of us.”
The way Paige just gravitated to her ugh i love them so much!! My roman empire forever tbh. Also imagining 15 yr old Paige just yapping away and tryna get Azzi to talk to her for that entire 14-hr flight is so 🥺🥹
like they’re so endgame it kills me
paige is just absolutely smitten with azzi and she obviously has no idea yet so she’s just following her around like a lost puppy yammering away
and azzi’s obviously quieter so she can’t for the life of her figure out why she’s so attached to this absolute golden retriever of a girl
yes!! there’s so much in the written interview that isn’t in the video booooo

Slam Magazine covers featured ZERO FEMALE BASKETBALL PLAYERS between 1998 and 2018.
ZERO.
And that's pathetic. So I'm not going to give them any credit for putting women on covers after WBB became trendy. Slam never lifted a finger to promote women when it really mattered. Now they're riding the WBB bandwagon but they did absolutely nothing to build that wagon. They're getting a free ride. Don't give them credit or love for anything.
