Shhhh! Keep your voice down and don't be loud. Whumpee is sleeping (or has just fallen asleep).
In Caretaker's arms after being rescued.
In a hospital bed in a recovery ward (or perhaps an ICU) after receiving care and treatment or perhaps emergency surgery.
On a bed in a room in a recovery house. Bonus points for the house are that the house belongs to the Caretaker and the bed BELONGS TO CARETAKER (AND CARETAKER'S BEDROOM)!!!!
In the passenger seat. Sleep on your back in the back seat or sleep in a half-sitting position after the seat is lowered slightly on the driver's side seat. Bonus points Caretaker puts on the jacket or coat to cover Whumpee.
On the sofa in front of the fireplace.
In a wheelchair while taking a leisurely walk.
On the couch on the terrace.
On the Caretaker's lap. Bonus points with the accompaniment of Caretaker's soft voice lulling Whumpee to sleep and caressing Whumpee's hair.
Sleep leaning on the Caretaker's shoulder when sitting side by side. Bonus points when they are in a discussion with the team members and Whumpee suddenly falls asleep exhausted.
Anything you want to add?

No peaceful sleep for whumpee.
Captive whumpee who isn’t given a place to sleep.
Captive whumpee who is kept bound in an uncomfortable day and night, with no way to lay down.
Captive whumpee who is forced to sleep on a cold, hard floor.
Captive whumpee who is woken up every hour by whumper.
Captive whumpee whose whumper comes in to torment them while they’re sleeping.
Captive whumpee whose whumper blasts noise so they can’t sleep properly.
Captive whumpee who is sprayed with water whenever they fall asleep.
Captive whumpee who is allowed to sleep, but only when they fulfill whumper’s terms.
Captive whumpee who is allowed to sleep but only while whumper is with them or only in whumper’s bed.
Recovering whumpee who can’t sleep without horrible nightmares that wake them up with a racing heart.
Recovering whumpee whose caretaker always sees them whimpering and tossing and turning as they sleep, muttering ‘no’ and ‘please’ in between sharp breaths.
Recovering whumpee who is afraid to go to sleep due to the fear that something will happen to them while they’re not alert.

Magical Mind Control that completely shuts down a Whumpee's mind. leaving them a obedient shell when "Activated" by Whumper. and in a deep, magical sleep when "Deactivated." When Caretaker finds them and rescues them, it takes days for Whumpee to come out from under Whumper's magical influence.
Post Rescue timeline: Days 1-4; Whumpee just floats in darkness. It's quiet, heavy and blissful. Day 5: Whumpee becomes distantly aware of a voice talking to them. it's not Whumper, but comforting none the less. Day 8: Whumpee manages to open their eyes a little. but everything is blurry. Someone's holding them, a hand is in their hair, Whumpee doesn't quite know who it is, but they know they trust this person more than anyone else in the world. Day 12: A light goes off in Whumpee's brain like a lighthouse in pea soup fog. Caretaker! It's Caretaker who's with them. they wish they could speak Caretaker's name, but they're just so Sleepy, they don't have the energy.
Day 13: Whumpee comes to breifly when Caretaker's gently spoon-feeding them some soup. giving Caretaker a feeble smile. Day 15: Whumpee finally wakes up clear-headed and lucid to a teary-eyed Caretaker, hoarsely whispering "Hey."

Got any whumps for a workaholic?
I may have some ideas… 🤔
Not getting any sleep either cause they’re busy doing work or they’re too stressed to sleep
Lack of sleep=bags under the eyes, easily confused, headaches, etc.
They either forget to eat or are so anxious about work they don’t feel hungry
Lack of food=chills, lightheadedness, shakiness, potential for fainting, etc.
Shaky hands could mean slip-ups such as spilling coffee, accidentally cutting or burning themself in a lab, and so on
When someone is overworked they don’t operate at peak capacity, so they could end up making a mistake that costs lives (eg. Doctor mixing up patient charts), which results in hella guilt
Workaholic emerging from their workspace after being cooped up for a long time and squinting into the sun, shielding their eyes
Not keeping up with hygiene
Chugging coffee or energy drinks until they’re jittery and yet can still hardly keep their eyes open
Caretaker(s) trying to convince them to take care of themself and get some rest, to no avail
Maybe eventually caretaker(s) has to intervene by force, drag the workaholic away from their task kicking and screaming
Caretaker(s) finding the workaholic collapsed on the floor of their workspace
Maybe they’re using their work to distract themself from other issues
Falling asleep at their work table, resulting in back pain and sore joints/muscles
Increased stress levels could result in anxiety attacks, mental effects from long term exposure to anxiety such as depression, and physical symptoms of anxiety
Deteriorating relationships with the people workaholic cares about as they drift further and further away
Feel free to add!

Whumper shows sensitive Whumpee a series of horror images/movies/jumpscares and now they're too paranoid to sleep from it. Even if they do go to sleep, they could still have nightmares about it.

Sleep, Please
"Whumpee," Caretaker pleaded, "you need to go to sleep, please."
Whumpee shook their head vigorously from their spot on the bed. They were sitting up with their arms folded across their chest. Caretaker had tried to make everything comfortable- they had given Whumpee extra blankets and pillows, and had even brought in a night light, but Whumpee wouldn't so much as lay down and relax.
"Whumpee, come on, you've been awake for days, what's the worst that can happen?"
That was the wrong thing to ask. Tears brimmed in Whumpee's eyes as they answered.
"Everytime I close my eyes," Whumpee said with a shudder, "I see them."
"Whumper?"
Tears were streaming down Whumpee's face now.
"Yes."
Caretaker sighed. They understood Whumpee didn't want to have nightmares, but they couldn't run on empty forever. There were dark circles under Whumpee's eyes, and they were swaying on the spot. Caretaker felt the syringe in their pocket. They really didn't want to have to use it, but Medic had insisted.
If they don't go to sleep, Medic's words echoed, give them this.
Caretaker looked at Whumpee again. Everytime their eyes closed, they would jerk awake a few seconds later. Caretaker couldn't bear to see them like this.
"Whumpee," Caretaker said, "you know I care about you, right?"
Whumpee looked taken aback.
"Yeah, why?" Whumpee asked.
"You also know that since I care about you, I only have your best interests at heart."
Whumpee nodded, a confused expression on their tired face.
"Good, come here."
Caretaker wrapped Whumpee in a gentle hug. Whumpee melted into the touch. Caretaker gingerly pulled out the syringe. Tears pricking their eyes, they plunged it into Whumpee's shoulder and pushed down on the depressor. Whumpee tensed in their hold. They tried to wriggle free, but Caretaker held on tighter.
"What did you do!?" Whumpee cried, their breathing coming in short gasps.
"Shhh," Caretaker soothed, though their voice was strained, "I'm so sorry, but you need to sleep."
"No! I don't! I won't!"
"It's okay," Caretaker said, "I'll be right here the whole time. I promise to wake you up if you have a bad dream."
"No..."
Whumpee's body fell slack in Caretaker's arms. Caretaker checked to see that Whumpee's eyes were only half-open. They gently leaned Whumpee back against the pillows and covered them with the blankets.
"Hhng," Whumpee tried.
"It's gonna be okay," Caretaker said, running a hand through Whumpee's hair. Caretaker didn't stop until Whumpee's eyes had fluttered shut and their breathing had grown deep and even. When they were certain that Whumpee was asleep, Caretaker finally allowed themselves to cry.

Sleep disturbances with a whumpee who develop chronic headaches because of the lack of sleep and is paranoid around caretaker when they are just simply trying to care for whumpee.
The sleep disturbances and (v possibly) insomnia may be created due to whumper doing something to them back then and it carried out as a traumatic experience, like if Whumper had a streak of casually knocking whumpee out in daily during the torture.
Maybe they fear the initial going to sleep phase of the night, because to them it feels like they've been knocked out (again) and it creates paranoia and trust issues with the caretaker bc they don't know whether they have fallen asleep or been for real knocked out without realizing it properly bc when they wake up they feel like they had been knocked out. Being in a state of mild delirium due to the lack of sleep and antagonizing caretaker due to the paranoia the lack of sleep created in the end.
Making whumpee just be diffcult with the caretaker.

Whump and Sleep
Having to physically hold up a Whumpee to treat them, otherwise they’ll flop over from exhaustion. The whole time they’re sobbing because they just want to go to sleep and no one will leave them be. It’s so tragic that for weeks after the fact, Caretaker has nightmares about Whumpee begging them to stop.
Whumpee nursing a hidden stab wound who goes into their bedroom in the middle of the afternoon, locks the door, and goes silent for days until Caretaker busts it down. They’re definitely not lucid, but definitely not asleep either; lying there with their eyes closed on the brink of twilight, unable to achieve any rest. They’re constantly grimacing, and shifting positions with the hope of becoming comfortable enough to lose consciousness; not because of the pain, but because the untouchable depths of their body have been intruded upon by cold metal. It’s left a perceptible hole in their flesh that will not close up. Pieces of them are missing, and the remainder is vulnerable to re-injury and infection. They are miserable.
Whumpee tracking Whumper’s sleep schedule to find out when would be the best time for them to escape without detection
Caretaker falling as if dead onto the floor after a long night of saving people and waking up with a splitting headache and fever due to stress two days later. In the meantime, no one has been caring for the multiple whumpees in their house.
Whumpee suffers from horrible allergies and, on desperate impulse, takes so much allergy medication that it makes them pass out and get sleep paralysis
Whumpee who acts as if they are asleep or unconscious to fool Whumper to stop interrogating them, so they don’t spill the beans. But in order for it to work, they must not react to getting kicked, slapped, and punched before they can gain any respite.
Whumpee who no longer sleeps due to becoming a vampire (or other creature) and is left in a groggy haze for all eternity

The scene of Whumpee sleeping is one of my favorites.
Maybe Whumpee is in a quiet room with dim lighting to recover. Sleep without moving. Maybe because of fatigue or because of the influence of medication.
Outside the room, the Team Leader, other members, and Caretaker are busy discussing Whumper and the plan they will carry out. Even though they try to be calm, there are still arguments or commotion.
Whumpee who is in the room may wake up occasionally because of the sound, but immediately go back to sleep because he is too weak and tired to move.
It could be that Whumpee won't wake up at all, won't notice Caretaker coming into the room and changing the compress on his forehead or simply putting a warm water bottle on the nightstand, or just sitting and waiting for Whumpee.
(Anything you want to add?)

Sleep Tight
CW: Needles, Injections, Medical Equipment, Non-con Touching (Nonsexual), Restraints, Mentions of Death
This is kinda weird but like... most of my stuff is tbh.
======
It had been days since Whumper had last let Whumpee sleep. When not being tortured for his owner's amusement, Whumpee was kept tied in stress positions, his limbs straining against the chafing rope as he tried his hardest to close his eyes and relax. It was futile though, as any perceived attempts to sleep would be punished with a sharp slap to the face. He was beginning to think that perhaps he would never sleep again, and Whumper would just keep him awake until he eventually died from the strain on his body. Today, however, would be different.
At the point in the day when Whumper would normally tie Whumpee up, the man instead crouched to his cowering victim's eye-level, a look of dark and twisted compassion in his eyes.
"Whumpee, you seem very tired. Would you like to sleep?" He asked gently, stroking the other man's face with a surprising softness. In any other situation alarm bells would be ringing in Whumpee's head, but he was so incredibly tired he just nodded with a choked back sob.
Whumper picked the trembling form up with strong arms, and carried him into a room Whumpee had never seen before. There, he lay him down on possibly the softest bed he had ever felt, strapping him in place with multiple leather buckles, before covering him up with a thick, warm quilt. Whumper appeared to continue moving around, as if preparing something, but Whumpee was so very tired that he simply slipped into sleep as soon as his eyes fell shut.
Several hours later Whumpee's eyes fluttered open, feeling refreshed and comfortable, if a little sore. Waking up properly, he scanned his surroundings, noticing an IV drip attached to his arm, and a tube coming from …between his legs, into a bag hung at the end of the bed. Strange.
Looking to the side of him he was a little startled to see Whumper hovering nearby, a look of faux concern plastered on his face.
"Oh dear, are you awake already? Well that just won't do, you were so very tired earlier, that cant have been enough rest! Go back to sleep darling." Whumper cooed, saccharine sweet. Whumpee thought to protest, to ask why this monster suddenly seemed to care about his well being, or to say he didn't need to sleep anymore, but before the words could form he felt a sharp prick in his arm. Suddenly his surroundings started to grow dark, and the last thing he saw before falling into unconsciousness once again was Whumper, holding an empty syringe and smiling.
He wasn't sure how long he spent in his dreamless sleep, but eventually Whumpee awoke once more. As he sluggishly remembered his situation he became frantic, thrashing against his bonds and trying to escape. Against his better judgment, he began to yell and scream for help, thinking perhaps someone could hear him from this new room.
All the chaos caused Whumper to burst in, cold eyes locking onto Whumpee, quickly filling with that faux warmth he had come to despise so very much. The man ignored Whumpee's thrashing and crying, calmly striding over to a table in the room where he filled a fresh needle with some unknown sedative. Tapping the implement gently to remove any air bubbles, Whumper encroached upon his panicking victim.
"What are you doing up?" He smiled, "I told you to get some rest." Quick as a flash he held down Whumpee's arm and injected him, sending him to sleep once again.
Whumper put the needle to one side, hovering over Whumpee's prone form. He stroked sweat slick hair from his forehead, relishing in the slight whimper the touch elicited from him. He pulled up a chair beside the bed and simply sat and watched, taking in how vulnerable his captive was like this, and how much control he had over him. Before, when he was keeping Whumpee awake for as long as possible, he knew that the game would have to end eventually, whether via sleep or death. However, this new game could last for a long, long time.
Perhaps while Whumpee slept he'd add more straps and gag him, considering how noisy and erratic his reaction was this time. That was sure to bring the man to a whole new level of panic. Whumper let his imagination spiral as he thought of all the things he could do to Whumpee as he slept, giving him only a moment to process what was happening, before leaving him unconscious and vulnerable once again. For now though, he simply watched his new toy's chest rise and fall beneath the blankets.

Whumpees with sleeping issues…
Slouched posture
Chugging coffee/energy drinks/using caffeine supplements
Bags under the eyes
Moving slowly
Zoning out/unfocused eyes
Getting frustrated/upset when they can’t fall asleep
Everyone asking whumpee “are you okay?” or telling them “you look exhausted”
Maybe they can’t sleep because they are anxious or overthinking
Or maybe they are scared to sleep because of bad dreams
Maybe on a subconscious level they just don’t feel like they deserve sleep so they stay awake to punish themself
Changes in mood and behaviour due to sleep deprivation
Getting confused easily or not thinking straight
At some point they just start falling asleep at random times throughout the day
Maybe they try sleeping pills and end up trapped in a bad dream
Maybe they refuse to take any pills and in an act of desperation caretaker slips them some anyway
Whumpee asks someone to knock them out so they will sleep peacefully
Maybe they need particular conditions to fall asleep, like a certain item, room temperature, light level, a person nearby, etc.
People getting up in the middle of the night to find whumpee still awake

Whumpee's previous Owner made them stay awake for days on end if they ever overslept.
Whumpee assumes it would be the same rules with Caretaker, they accidentally oversleep one day and deny themself sleep for several days. Even weeks. And Caretaker is completely oblivious of it.
Whumpee just assumes their new Owner really wants them to learn their lesson because they're never given permission to sleep. Caretaker only learns until Whumpee passes out at their feet...

Insomnia whump!
Whumpee who's barely able to keep their eyes open, words slurring, voice rising into a whine.
"P- pl'se... Wh'mp'r... l- lemme... sl- sleep... p- please... m'so'tired..'
"Ah-ah. Stay awake, pet. Otherwise, the first thing you'll open your eyes to is facing your punishment.
And we both know you don't want that."
