Guardian of the Protocol
Doubts
AO3 Link
First Chapter | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
You took a moment to gather your thoughts… And mostly yourself.
You prepared a little speech in your head for Ryo to hear.
You didn’t know why though, you never prepared for conversations.
You just blurted out what you honestly thought.
You guessed that today was really going to be a weird day.
Exiting your room, you scanned the hallway, searching for Yoru.
Not seeing him, you figured he may be in his living space.
You walked up to the entrance, and gently knocked on the door.
Suddenly getting cold feet, you turned around and started walking away as you heard the door unlock and open.
He called out your name, hesitantly.
As if he didn’t believe what he was seeing.
You stopped in your tracks, starting to fidget with your fingers, refusing to turn around to face him.
You didn’t hear his footsteps behind you, so you figured that he was still next to the doorframe.
The silence stretched out, and you had no idea what to say, the speech from earlier escaping from your memory.
You wanted to apologise, but you didn’t know for what.
You also felt the need to justify yourself, but you had little idea of what you did wrong in his eyes.
… Alright, you knew some part of the story.
But why did he react that angrily, especially after saying that, what happened the night before… Didn’t matter ?
Your fidgeting grew more insistent.
You sighed softly, about to resume walking away from the situation, but he called out to you again.
“Could you turn around ?” This was no demand, but a request.
Doing as told, you faced him, a few metres away from him.
Despite the distance, you could see clear as day how… Troubled and defeated he looked.
Like he gave up on something.
He opened and closed his mouth numerous times, and you waited patiently.
“I… You know what ? Nevermind,” He finally stated, frustrated.
He closed the door behind him, leaving you alone in the hallway.
You sighed, frustrated yourself.
At what, you didn’t know.
But you hated what was happening between you and Ryo.
Your mind brought you back to what you talked about earlier with Chamber.
How you felt like… Maybe staying wasn’t the best choice.
What if your light came to extinguish itself ? What if you won’t be needed anymore, what will you do then ?
Where would you go ?
What if it turned out that you didn’t belong ?
In front of the entrance of your room, you didn’t even realise that you resumed walking.
Lynn and Fynch came into your vision, and you could feel the worry radiating in waves from your ghost.
They called out your name.
“We’ve talked about this,” They continued. “Don’t let a slope define the decision that you made. You knew it was the best solution for you,” They confirmed, trying to convince you that this was the right choice.
Maybe it was.
But after all that happened… You were scared to lose someone dear to you.
You entered your room, and sat in the middle of it, just how you would if you were to meditate.
You just wanted to gather your thoughts, and reminisce about the lessons given by Ikora.
Some didn’t really apply to this situation specifically, but others stood out to you.
One especially, which was learning from someone you didn’t imagine you could learn from.
Unexpected lessons.
Another one was about balance between feelings, duty, and what you believed was right.
Everyone had their own balance, and you just had to figure out yours.
You thought you found the right amount of everything, when you first came here.
Keeping everyone at arm’s length.
When did you let people get closer ?
Now, your previous stability was in shambles, and you knew it was time for a change.
You just didn’t know what direction to take.
It was scary, to figure out this big step, this big behaviour change, alone.
Without any guidance.
You missed Ikora, the mentor that she was to you.
She’d probably have answers to your questions, or let you find your own solutions.
You opened your eyes, taking a deep breath.
You realised that you had no guidance anymore.
At least, not the one you were the most used to.
It gave you a lot of anxiety, and you wondered if you were ready.
Regardless of it, you needed to take matters into your own hands.
Taking a deep breath, you went out of your room, still shaken up by the previous events.
Your eyes met with Sage’s, who was apparently looking for someone.
When her gaze locked onto yours, she immediately speed-walked in your direction.
Calling out your name, you saw her worried but stern expression when she got close enough.
“Can you go to my office for a minute ?” She asked, and even though you were surprised, you nodded.
Following her steps, you soon found yourself in her office for the first time.
You looked around you, but was quickly called out of your quiet observation when Ling called your name.
“We… Wanted to do an assessment for you, but after what happened, I don’t think there will be a need for it,” She stated, trying her best to make her gentle smile believable.
You didn’t like that statement.
“I’m going to put you on a mental health leave,” She continued, and when you were about to protest, she held one of her hands up, speaking before you got a chance to : “After what happened in the lobby, it is best that you take a break, to recover from whatever is troubling you.”
You were the one to break eye contact, looking at your feet.
You just couldn’t bring yourself to meet her in the eyes.
“You are welcome to reach out to me if you need a therapy session. It sounds like it’s a lot to handle, and I’ll be happy to help,” She offered, her tone soft and understanding.
You were only able to nod idly, still hung up over the fact that you were forced to not participate in any missions until…
Until when ?
Your interrogation seemed to be clear enough in your expression, since Sage answered it :
“You’ll be on leave until you’ve found yourself in an at least stable mental state, where you’ll be evaluated,” She announced, her smile turning genuine. “I’ll let Brimstone and Viper know by default, but is there anyone else that you want in the loop ?” She questioned, taking a few steps towards you.
You took a moment to think of your answer.
Did you want to speak to your friends about this, or was it best to let Ling do it ?
… Should you let your friends know ?
It wasn’t as if they could help you with your mental health – it didn’t concern most of them, after all – so what would be the point ?
And even for the one that it did concern…
You didn’t want his pity.
… You doubted you would get it, anyways.
You shook your head, not finding the words to explain how you felt.
“I trust that you’ll let them know yourself, then. Everyone needs a good support system,” She said, as if it would be easy for you. “If you don’t, I’m afraid I’ll be the bearer of those news to them,” She continued.
It wasn’t as if you had a choice, you realised bitterly.
You nodded nonetheless, which seemed to satisfy her.
“If you don’t have any more questions, you’re free to go,” She announced, her grin still on her lips.
Nodding, you exited the office, and you realised just how much you needed to rest your mind.
So, you decided to head towards your room for another meditative session.
Not really paying attention to your environment, you bumped into someone.
Your head shot up to meet the eyes of the person, and you were taken aback to see Chamber’s.
He seemed as surprised as you were, but it quickly melted into a gentle smile and a curious glint.
“Ah, my guardian, I didn’t expect to see you here,” He started, his smirk still on his lips. “Dis, did you have the occasion to speak to Yoru yet ?” He questioned, studying your face.
You shook your head, sheepish.
“I tried, but it… Didn’t go as planned,” You explained, not really sure how to describe the events.
Arching an eyebrow, Vincent was quick to ask :
“Would you like me to say a word or two to him ?”
Feeling your eyes widen as you frantically shook your head, you immediately refused :
“No, by the Traveller, no. Thank you, but I can handle it,” You reassured, trying your best to have a convincing smile.
He didn’t seem utterly persuaded, but nodded nonetheless and didn’t push the matter, to your relief.
“Well then, let me know if you have any trouble, d’accord ?” Chamber smiled, and you could tell he cared a lot about you.
It made you realise that you still didn’t give him any answer to his confession.

Firstly, consider the purpose of your event or trip. If you're planning a casual camping excursion with family or friends, a Swiss Cottage tent may be the most practical choice, offering ample space and comfort for sleeping and relaxing outdoors. On the other hand, if you're hosting a formal event such as a wedding or corporate function, a Pagoda tent may better suit the occasion, providing a stylish and sophisticated shelter for guests.
Additionally, consider the size and layout of the tent. Swiss Cottage tents are typically larger and more spacious, making them suitable for accommodating groups of people or multiple activities. Pagoda tents, meanwhile, come in various sizes and configurations, allowing for customization to fit the specific needs of your event.
Tumblr media
Finally, consider the ease of setup and transportation. While both Swiss Cottage and Pagoda tents are relatively straightforward to assemble, Pagoda tents may require additional tools or equipment due to their more complex design. Similarly, consider the portability of the tent, especially if you plan to travel to different locations or set up and take down the tent frequently.
Both Swiss Cottage and Pagoda tents offer unique advantages depending on your needs and preferences. Whether you're planning a camping trip with family or hosting a formal event, carefully consider the features and characteristics of each tent to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience.

The Science Behind Biaxial Geogrids: Material Properties and Performance
In the realm of civil engineering and geotechnical applications, the need for robust and effective solutions to improve soil stability and performance is paramount. One such solution is the use of biaxial geogrids. These innovative materials have garnered attention for their unique Biaxial geogrid price and effectiveness in various applications. In this blog, we will delve into the science behind biaxial geogrids, exploring their material properties, performance benefits, and the role they play in enhancing infrastructure projects.
Understanding Biaxial Geogrids
Biaxial geogrids are geosynthetic materials made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene. They consist of a network of interconnected ribs that create a grid-like structure. Unlike uniaxial geogrids, which provide strength in one direction, biaxial geogrids offer Geogrid suppliers in India and reinforcement in two directions—horizontally and vertically. This characteristic allows them to distribute loads evenly and provide enhanced stability to underlying soil layers.
Material Properties
Durability and Resistance
Biaxial geogrids are designed to withstand various environmental conditions. The primary materials used in their production, such as HDPE and polypropylene, exhibit excellent resistance to chemical degradation, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations. This durability ensures that biaxial geogrids maintain their integrity and performance over time, making them suitable for long-term applications.
High Tensile Strength
One of the standout properties of biaxial geogrids is their high tensile strength. The grid's interconnected ribs are engineered to withstand significant loads without deformation or failure. This tensile strength is crucial for applications where the geogrid must support heavy structures, such as roads, embankments, and retaining walls.
Flexibility and Adaptability
Biaxial geogrids are flexible and can adapt to different site conditions. Their design allows them to conform to the underlying soil structure, improving interlocking and providing additional stability. This flexibility is particularly advantageous in uneven terrain, where traditional reinforcement methods may be less effective.
Lightweight Design
Another key advantage of biaxial geogrids is their lightweight nature. Compared to traditional materials like concrete or steel, geogrids are much lighter, making them easier to transport and install. This lightweight characteristic reduces construction costs and minimizes the environmental impact of transportation.
Performance Benefits
Soil Reinforcement
The primary function of biaxial geogrids is to reinforce soil structures. When incorporated into roadways or embankments, they help distribute loads more evenly across the surface. This load distribution reduces localized stress on the soil, preventing deformation, settlement, and failure. As a result, structures built over geogrids demonstrate enhanced stability and longevity.
Erosion Control
Biaxial geogrids play a vital role in erosion control applications. By stabilizing soil, they help prevent erosion caused by water runoff or wind. Their grid structure can also support vegetation growth, further enhancing soil stability and reducing erosion risks. In applications such as slopes and riverbanks, geogrids effectively hold soil in place, providing an environmentally friendly solution to erosion challenges.
Improved Drainage
Effective drainage is crucial in geotechnical applications. Biaxial geogrids allow for improved water movement through the soil, preventing water accumulation and potential weakening of the underlying layers. Their open grid structure facilitates drainage while maintaining soil stability, making them ideal for use in areas prone to flooding or waterlogging.
Cost-Effectiveness
Incorporating biaxial geogrids into construction projects can lead to significant cost savings. Their ability to enhance soil stability reduces the need for additional materials and labor, ultimately lowering project costs. Furthermore, the durability of geogrids means less frequent replacements or repairs, contributing to long-term savings for infrastructure projects.
Applications of Biaxial Geogrids
Biaxial geogrids have a wide range of applications across various industries. Some of the most common uses include:
Road and Pavement Construction
In road construction, biaxial geogrids are often used as reinforcement layers beneath the pavement. They help improve the load-bearing capacity of the road, extending its lifespan and reducing maintenance needs. Additionally, they enhance resistance to cracking and deformation, resulting in smoother driving surfaces.
Retaining Walls
Biaxial geogrids are commonly employed in the construction of retaining walls. By reinforcing the soil behind the wall, they help prevent soil movement and provide stability, ensuring the wall remains intact under varying conditions.
Slope Stabilization
In areas where slopes are prone to erosion or failure, biaxial geogrids can be utilized to stabilize the soil. Their grid structure helps hold soil in place while allowing for vegetation growth, further reinforcing the slope and preventing erosion.
Landfills and Waste Management
Biaxial geogrids are also used in landfill construction and waste management applications. They assist in creating stable working surfaces for equipment and help manage leachate flow, enhancing the overall effectiveness of waste containment.
Future Trends and Innovations

Essential Tips for Preventing Basement Flooding
Tumblr media
Basement flooding can be a homeowner's worst nightmare, causing extensive damage to property and creating a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Understanding the underlying causes of basement flooding is the first step in preventing it. Common causes include heavy rainfall, melting snow, poor drainage systems, and plumbing leaks. By recognizing these potential threats, you can take proactive measures to protect your basement.
Inspecting and Maintaining Gutters and Downspouts for Effective Water Management
One of the most critical strategies for preventing basement flooding is to ensure that your gutters and downspouts are in good working condition. Gutters and downspouts are designed to channel water away from your home, but if they are clogged or damaged, water can overflow and pool around the foundation, leading to basement flooding. Regularly inspect and clean your gutters and downspouts, and make any necessary repairs to keep them functioning properly.
Additionally, consider extending the downspouts to direct water further away from your home. This simple measure can significantly reduce the risk of water pooling around the foundation. Ensure that the extensions are securely attached and check them periodically for any blockages or damage.
Grading the Landscape Around Your Home to Prevent Water Accumulation
The slope of the ground around your home plays a significant role in directing water away from the foundation. If the land around your home slopes towards the foundation, water can accumulate and seep into the basement. To prevent this, ensure that the ground is graded away from your home. This may involve adding soil to create a slope or installing a drainage system to redirect water away from the foundation.
Consider planting native plants and shrubs around your home to help absorb excess water. These plants have deep root systems that can improve soil stability and reduce erosion. Additionally, they can enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your landscape while contributing to effective water management.
Installing a Sump Pump for Reliable Flood Protection
A sump pump is an essential tool for preventing basement flooding, especially in areas prone to heavy rainfall or high water tables. Sump pumps are installed in a sump pit, which collects water that seeps into the basement. When the water level in the pit reaches a certain point, the sump pump activates and pumps the water out of the basement and away from the foundation. Regularly test your sump pump to ensure it is working correctly and consider installing a battery backup system in case of power outages.
In addition to regular testing, schedule annual maintenance checks with a professional to ensure that your sump pump is in optimal condition. This can help identify any potential issues before they become major problems, providing you with peace of mind during heavy rainfall or flooding events.
Sealing Cracks and Gaps to Prevent Water Infiltration
Cracks and gaps in your basement walls and floors can provide entry points for water. Inspect your basement for any cracks or gaps and seal them with waterproof sealant or epoxy. Pay special attention to areas around windows, doors, and pipes, as these are common entry points for water. By sealing these openings, you can prevent water from seeping into your basement and causing damage.
For larger cracks or structural issues, consider speaking with a professional to assess the extent of the damage and recommend appropriate repair solutions. Addressing these issues promptly can prevent further deterioration and ensure the long-term integrity of your basement.
Installing a French Drain System for Efficient Water Redirection
A French drain system is an effective way to redirect water away from your home's foundation. This system consists of a trench filled with gravel and a perforated pipe that collects and channels water away from the foundation. Installing a French drain can help prevent water from accumulating around your home and seeping into the basement. Speak with a professional to determine the best location and design for your French drain system.
In addition to the French drain, consider installing a surface drain to capture and redirect surface water before it reaches the foundation. This can provide an additional layer of protection and further reduce the risk of basement flooding.
Maintaining Your Plumbing System to Prevent Leaks
Plumbing leaks are a common cause of basement flooding. Regularly inspect your plumbing system for any signs of leaks, such as water stains, dampness, or mold growth. Repair any leaks promptly to prevent water from seeping into your basement. Additionally, consider installing a backwater valve to prevent sewage from backing up into your basement during heavy rainfall or flooding events.
Schedule regular plumbing inspections with a licensed professional to identify and address any potential issues before they escalate. This proactive approach can help maintain the integrity of your plumbing system and reduce the risk of basement flooding.
Using Waterproofing Paint for Added Protection
Waterproofing paint can provide an additional layer of protection for your basement walls and floors. This specially formulated paint creates a waterproof barrier that helps prevent water from seeping through the walls and floors. Apply waterproofing paint to your basement walls and floors, paying special attention to areas that are prone to moisture. Reapply the paint as needed to maintain its effectiveness.
For best results, follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure that the surfaces are clean and dry before applying the paint. Consider using a combination of waterproofing paint and other moisture control measures, such as dehumidifiers and ventilation systems, to create a comprehensive moisture management strategy.
Installing Window Well Covers to Protect Basement Windows
Basement windows are another potential entry point for water. Installing window well covers can help prevent water from pooling around your basement windows and seeping into your home. Window well covers are designed to fit over the window wells and create a barrier that keeps water out while allowing light to enter. Choose covers that are durable and fit securely over your window wells.
In addition to window well covers, consider installing window well drains to capture and redirect water away from the windows. This can provide an extra layer of protection and further reduce the risk of water infiltration.
Regularly Inspecting and Maintaining Your Basement for Early Detection
Regular inspections and maintenance are key to preventing basement flooding. Periodically check your basement for any signs of water damage, such as dampness, mold, or mildew. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage. Additionally, consider investing in a basement dehumidifier to control humidity levels and reduce the risk of mold and mildew growth.
Keep a detailed log of your inspections and maintenance activities to track any changes or recurring issues. This can help you identify patterns and take proactive measures to address potential problems before they escalate.
Creating an Emergency Plan for Quick Response
Despite your best efforts, basement flooding can still occur. Having an emergency plan in place can help you respond quickly and minimize damage. Create a plan that includes steps to take in the event of a flood, such as shutting off the power, moving valuable items to higher ground, and contacting a flood control specialist for assistance. Ensure that all members of your household are familiar with the plan and know what to do in case of an emergency.
Consider assembling an emergency kit with essential supplies, such as flashlights, batteries, a first aid kit, and important documents. Keep the kit in an easily accessible location and ensure that all household members know where it is stored.

Essential Products for Slope Stabilization
Slope stability is paramount for preventing landslides and safeguarding infrastructure. Left unchecked, unstable slopes can pose a significant threat to lives and property. Fortunately, a range of slope stabilization solutions exist, employing robust materials like woven geotextiles, non-woven geotextiles, and geogrids. This blog, brought to you by Shrisai Eco Solutions, a trusted provider of slope stabilization solutions, explores these essential products and their applications.
Understanding the Slope: Assessing the Challenge
The first step in effective slope stabilization is a thorough site assessment. Factors like soil type, slope angle, and potential water infiltration are all crucial for determining the most suitable stabilization method. Shrisai Eco Solutions offers expert assistance in evaluating your slope and recommending the optimal solution.-
Woven Geotextiles: The Strong and Separating Force
Woven geotextiles are robust fabrics constructed from interwoven synthetic fibers, typically polypropylene or polyester. These versatile materials play a key role in slope stabilization by:
Separation: Woven geotextiles prevent the intermixing of soil layers. This is particularly important for separating fine-grained soil particles from coarse rock aggregates, which can lead to instability.
Filtration: Woven geotextiles allow water to pass through while retaining soil particles. This prevents erosion and helps maintain the integrity of the slope.
Reinforcement: The high tensile strength of woven geotextiles can provide additional reinforcement to the slope, especially when used in conjunction with other stabilization techniques.
Non-Woven Geotextiles: The Filtration Champion
Non-woven geotextiles, unlike their woven counterparts, are formed from entangled synthetic fibers that are thermally bonded or needle-punched together. These fabrics excel in filtration and drainage applications:
Filtration: Similar to woven geotextiles, non-woven geotextiles allow water to pass through while effectively retaining soil particles. This helps prevent soil erosion and keeps the slope stable.
Drainage: The superior drainage capabilities of non-woven geotextiles enable them to channel excess water away from the slope face, preventing saturation and potential landslides.
Cushioning: The non-woven structure provides a cushioning effect, protecting underlying membranes or liners from damage caused by sharp rocks or uneven surfaces.
Geogrids: The Reinforcing Powerhouse
Geogrids are polymeric grids manufactured from high-strength materials like polyethylene (PE) or polyester (PET). These geosynthetics offer exceptional reinforcement capabilities for slopes:
Reinforcement: The grid-like structure of geogrids distributes loads across a wider area, significantly improving the tensile strength and stability of the slope.
Confinement: Geogrids can confine infill materials like gravel or crushed rock, creating a composite structure with enhanced stability and resistance to erosion.
Basal Reinforcement: When placed behind retaining walls, geogrids provide additional reinforcement, preventing soil movement and potential wall failure.
Combining Forces: A Synergistic Approach
For complex slope stabilization projects, a combination of these products often yields the most effective results. Shrisai Eco Solutions has the expertise to design and implement a customized solution using woven geotextiles, non-woven geotextiles, and geogrids to meet the specific needs of your slope.
Beyond the Products: Expertise Matters
While these products are powerful tools, successful slope stabilization hinges on proper selection, installation, and ongoing maintenance. Shrisai Eco Solutions goes beyond simply supplying materials. They offer:
Site Assessment: A thorough evaluation of your slope to determine the most suitable stabilization approach.
Product Selection: Expert recommendations on the optimal combination of woven geotextiles, non-woven geotextiles, and geogrids for your project.
