The west wing of the castle was eerily quiet as you led Theo through the corridors. The spiral staircase leading up to Ravenclaw Tower snaked all the way up to the fifth floor, which was proving to be a feat to climb in the dark given that you weren’t able to cast lumos without being discovered. It didn’t help that a slightly inebriated Theo kept trudging on your toes during your ascent.
“Oh for Merlin’s sake,” you hissed under your breath before grabbing hold of Theo’s hand. Even in the dark, you could tell that the insufferable twat was smirking. “Not a word, Nott. I either hold your hand like a toddler or keep suffering in silence as you stomp on my toes with your giant feet.”
“You know what they say about giant feet,” Theo whispered behind you. Moonlight streamed through the skylight, perfectly illuminating your scowl. His grin grew wider as he squeezed your hand. “Giant shoes. What did you think I was going to say, Y/N?”
“I’d prefer if you didn’t say anything.”
Theo gave you a mocking salute as he quietly followed you up the stairs. You tried not to focus on the warmth of his hand or the way his fingers twined tightly around yours. You especially tried not to dwell on the strange but not entirely unpleasant sensation of Theo’s thumb rubbing soothing circles across your knuckles.
When you reached the fourth floor, Theo made no move to release your hand as you walked up to the wooden door. It had no knob or keyhole, but a knocker in the shape of an eagle. Identical to the common room entrance, which was a floor above. But you had no plans on smuggling a Slytherin into the eagle’s nest.
Instead, you gently rapped on the knocker. The bronze eagle blinked back at you. Theo nearly fell over in surprise as it rasped out a question.
“What breaks and never falls, and what falls and never breaks?”
“Day breaks and night falls,” you answered.
The knocker nodded, appearing pleased before the door swung open. Theo chuckled softly. “Of course you Ravenclaws would require a riddle for entrance. Godric forbid you use something as simple as a password.”
“Passwords are easily guessed, riddles are not.” You tugged him into the dimly lit hallway and gave him a sharp look. “Don’t get any ideas of sneaking in, either. The riddle changes every day and the eagle is prone to clawing intruders.”
Theo shivered. “And yet everyone thinks that we Slytherins are the sadistic ones.”
You smiled in satisfaction as the two of you walked further into the fourth floor. Theo trailed along after you, more than happy to let you take the lead for once. He stopped short when you opened the door to the music room. Starlight flooded in through the stained glass windows, drawing silver prisms across the crushed velvet couches, ornate persian rugs, and tiered choral risers. Instruments of every kind were organized into neat rows—harps, cellos, lutes, violins, and even a set of bagpipes.
But you weren’t interested in any of them.
In the center of the room sat a baby grand piano. Theo watched curiously as you sat on the bench and carefully lifted the mahogany top.
“I didn’t even know we had a music room,” he remarked as he slid in beside you.
“That’s not surprising at all.”
Theo rolled his eyes. “So this is how you relax?”
You nodded, resting your fingers on the ivory keys. “Like I said, I’m not really the type of person who can just turn their mind off so I have to occupy myself with something else. With music, I can focus on the chords and scales and patterns and eventually I sort of just get lost in the melody.”
“Play something for me, then.”
You nodded and started playing a familiar piece. The music flowed through you like honey, each chord and note so vivid in your mind that you could practically imagine the sheet music floating before you.
When you first came to Hogwarts, you spent countless hours in this room. Every time you felt overwhelmed by the wizarding world, you channeled your frustrations and fears into this piano. You found that music was a universal language that was understood by both the magical and muggleborn.
As you played, you felt the classics pour out of you. Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy. They were pieces that you learned from your father. You could almost picture it now, sitting in your sunny London flat and playing the piano together while your mother watched and listened.
The melancholic melody of Swan Lake filled the room. It was the first piece you ever mastered when you begged your father to teach it to you after coming home from the ballet. A wave of nostalgia crashed into you as you closed your eyes and let yourself become one with the music.
Each movement was fluid, the muscle memory embedded into you while your fingers flew over the keys. The piece built to its crescendo and it felt bittersweet as you delivered the final note. You had all but forgotten about Theo until you opened your eyes again.
“Only you would find the morbidity of Swan Lake relaxing,” he said with a small smile.
You quirked a brow. “You know Tchaikovsky?”
“Of course. Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a total degenerate.”
“But he’s a muggle.”
“I’ll have you know that I received an Outstanding in my O.W.L. for Muggle Studies.”
You gaped. “I didn’t even know you were taking Muggle Studies.”
“Advanced Muggle Studies,” he corrected. “As much as I love a depressing classic, I think you’ll find this piece a bit more modern.”
Theo scooted over and began playing a vaguely familiar intro. You strained to place the music and watched with complete bewilderment as he continued to play with a grin.
Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me.
The realization set in just as Theo nudged you to play the next part with him. The ballad came naturally to you after having heard the song so many times.
Mama, just killed a man.
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
Mama, life had just begun.
The two of you barrelled through the guitar solo and weaved through the operatic section. Your fingers were cramped by the time you hit the hard rock portion of the song. You hadn’t even noticed that you were singing along until you heard Theo laugh in delight beside you. Thank Rowena for the soundproof walls.
You turned over, and sang the lyrics right at him. So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
Theo delivered the next line with equal fervor. So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
The two of you looked at each other and serenaded one another rather aggressively. Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby.
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here.
Both of you were in stitches when you finally reached the outro. You couldn’t remember the last time you laughed so hard.
“We did not just perform a godsawful rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.”
“Speak for yourself. My vocals would’ve brought Freddie Mercury to tears.” He touched his heart, looking solemn. “Godric rest his soul. The man was a proper genius.”
“I would not have pegged you as a Queen fan.”
“You can peg me no matter whose fan I am, darling.”
The snort came out of you before you had a chance to reign it in. Theo’s eyes widened in surprise as you covered your mouth in utter mortification. It had taken you years to control your snort, but sometimes it just slipped out.
“Did you just—”
“Speak of it ever again and I’ll maim you, Theodore.”
He raised his hands. “I’m not mocking you, I swear. I’ve just never heard you laugh like that.”
“Yeah, well, I suppose all this faffing around has unearthed my shameful secret.” You tried and failed to conceal your smile. “Consider it a compliment. No one’s heard my snorting in years.”
“Maybe they should. It’s quite charming, you know.”
You chuckled again, not bothering to hide your snorts.
Theo grinned. “On second thought, I think I’d like to keep that laugh all to myself.”
The flush that crept onto your cheeks was entirely involuntary. You stretched your legs underneath you and bumped your knee against his. “Congratulations, Nott. You’ve somehow managed to accomplish the impossible. I actually feel relaxed for once in my life.”
“Relaxed enough for a midnight snack?”
You shook your head. “No way. I’m not sneaking into the kitchens again. I barely escaped Winky’s notice when I nicked your muffin last time.”
“Who said anything about the kitchens? I have my own stash of snacks back in the dungeons. How do you feel about gelato?”
“I’ve never had it,” you admitted.
Theo looked properly affronted. “As an Italian, I take that as a personal offense.”
“Isn’t it the same thing as ice cream?”
“The same as—that’s honestly the most inconsiderate thing you’ve ever said to me.” He rubbed his temples. “This is no longer a matter of choice now. The reputation of my people is on the line until you’ve tasted stracciatella.”
Your mouth quirked. “Got any mint chocolate?”
As you expected, he flung his hands around as though you’d just asked for feet flavored gelato. “Che palle! This is more dire than I thought. Mint chocolate? You might as well squeeze toothpaste on a chocolate frog and call it a day.”
Theo ranted as he led you out of the music room. You couldn’t help but giggle at the genuine distress in his expression. You made it all the way to the first floor of the tower before he stopped grumbling under his breath.
“Well, gelato aficionado, I hope you have a plan because Filch is probably making his rounds as we speak.”
He only smirked in response. “I may know a shortcut.”
You followed after Theo as he approached a portrait on the far end of the west wing. He produced the grimoire from his pocket and shuffled through the worn leather pages before he found the correct page. With a flick of his wand, Theo chanted something in Italian. The portrait, a young woman with dark hair and a mischievous grin, appraised the two of you. As her gaze flickered over you, the familiarity of those watercolor eyes struck you like lightning.
“Fai scelte intelligenti, cugino.”
With that, the portrait swung open into some sort of secret tunnel. Theo’s lips twitched as he gestured for you to step through the threshold. As the portrait swung close, you heard the young woman sigh dreamily.
“La storia si ripete.”
While your understanding of Italian was rudimentary at best, you were fairly certain that she’d said something about history repeating itself. Theo reached for your hand in the dark and you took it without question. You were deep within the secret passage before you even realized it.
“Family of yours?”
“How’d you guess?”
“You have the same eyes,” you observed. “Plus, she called you cousin.”
He seemed mildly amused by the comment. “Been brushing up on your Italian?”
“Only enough to make sure you’re not insulting me.”
Theo chuckled. “Fair enough. To answer your question, yes. The portrait is of Coletta, my second cousin thrice removed. She attended Hogwarts centuries ago. She was a Ravenclaw as well.”
“Why is that name so familiar?”
“She invented the enchantment for the moving portraits. Of course her first subject was herself.”
“So narcissism and vanity is an inherited trait, then?”
Theo smirked. “Darling, when you’re as pretty as we are, then immortalizing that beauty for future generations to behold becomes a high priority.”
“Oh, good. I was worried that you were becoming too humble."
“Let’s just say that dear old Coletta won’t be the only one in my bloodline to be featured on a chocolate frog card.”
“I doubt that being the world’s most massive wanker constitutes the commissioning of a card.”
He rolled his eyes as you rounded a corner. Theo kept you behind him as he pushed on a depression in the walls. It gave way, swinging open to an empty hallway.
“Speaking of massive wankers, welcome to the Slytherin dormitories.”
You smirked and nodded to the giant serpent statue at the end of the hallway. “Is that a basilisk or are you just happy to see me?”
“My poor little Ravenclaw. I’m afraid I’ve corrupted you past the point of no return.”
“Please,” you tutted, strutting through the maze of the dungeon dormitories like you owned the place. “I was depraved way before I ever met you.”
Theo chuckled under his breath as he led you further into the heart of the viper’s nest. Through the windows, you could see the dark waves of the Black Lake ripple as you walked through. It was oddly beautiful, in a morbid sort of way.
“Here we are,” Theo said as you came to a stop at the end of the hall. “Home sweet home.”
Before you entered, he muttered a series of privacy and protection spells that you’ve never even heard of. Magic weaved through the door and sizzled with evergreen sparks before it finally swung open.
“Paranoid much?”
“You have no idea. You Ravenclaws may have your riddles, but learning how to hex your door from nosy snooping twats is a right of passage for every Slytherin.”
You peered through the threshold, suddenly feeling nervous. In the past year doing whatever it was you and Theo were doing, it had become a sort of unspoken rule to have sex anywhere but your dorms. For one, it was too much of a hassle to sneak each other in, but if you were being honest, the main reason why you've never even attempted was because seeing someone else’s room was strangely intimate. You tried not to think about how easily Theo invited you into his space as you ducked through the door.
A mixture of envy and jealousy hit you full force when you walked into his dorm. It was a massive room with a four poster bed, luxurious velvet curtains, and a stained glass skylight. There was a mahogany desk littered with ancient tomes, cracked parchment, and half empty ink pots. The latest Nimbus model was propped up next to his nightstand with a green and silver scarf tied around its hilt. Leave it to Theo to use the expensive broom as a glorified hanger.
You made your way through the elegantly decorated room and noted that it was far tidier than you would’ve expected. Theo was content to hang back and watch as you looked through his baubles. A picture on his nightstand caught your eye. Mostly because it wasn’t like the moving portraits you were so used to seeing in the wizarding world. This was a still likeness, a polaroid of a beautiful dark haired woman with little Theo. He was wearing a Cambridge jumper three sizes too big and showing off his two missing front teeth with a cheeky grin.
The image tugged at your heart. “Is this your mum?”
Theo nodded. “Yeah, that was the first time she took me with her to Cambridge.”
“And there’s the infamous jumper you begged her to buy, huh?”
“The one and only.”
You kept staring at the photo, noting how happy little Theo looked. It made you think back on that day at the lab when you watched him slip on his smirk like a mask. Like armor. You wondered if you’d ever see his unguarded smile, full of childlike wonder and joy, just like in the picture. You wondered why you even wanted to.
“She was very beautiful,” you finally said, setting down the polaroid.
“She was,” Theo wistfully agreed. “Clearly I inherited her good looks.”
Rolling your eyes fondly, you continued surveying his room. For some reason, you found it fascinating. You nearly squealed in delight when you came across the towers of books he had lined up against the wall.
“Go ahead,” Theo said with a chuckle. “I know you’re dying to snoop, diavolina.”
He couldn’t have been more right. You loved going through people’s bookshelves. You could tell a lot about a person based on their books. In Theo’s case, his reads were nearly as chaotic and surprising as he was.
As expected, there were a few books on quidditch, a rare potions tome that you were fairly certain cost a small fortune, a selection of mystery novels, all magical save for a lone leatherbound book on the top shelf. You carefully cracked it open and found yourself reading through the Divine Comedy.
“Dante’s Inferno,” you said in surprise. “How terribly morbid of you.”
“How so?” He asked, reading over your shoulder. “Alighieri composed it as a comedy rather than a tragedy. It does have somewhat of a happy ending.”
“I suppose, but the poem was mainly a raw commentary on the savage nature of human existence and delved into the ugliness of it all, from the banal to the depraved. The eternal torture chamber was a meditation on evil. Even purgatory explored the flaws of human nature and the fallen state society often finds itself in.”
Theo took the book from your hands and flipped to the last section. “Yes, but Paradiso was all about goodness. It explores transcendence, redemption, and virtue.” He smiled softly. “I know the concept of paradise might be a bit naive, but isn’t there a concept of heaven that we all hold onto to prevent ourselves from despairing? When you’re trudging through shit, you’ve got to hope that you’re clawing for something better on the other side.”
You were silent for a moment. “What does Paradise look like for you, Nott?”
Theo smirked. “You’ll have to get me higher than this to answer that question, dolcezza.”
“Fair enough. Now educate me on gelato like you promised.”
A few minutes later, the two of you sat cross legged on his rug while indulging in decadent scoops of stracciatella. The creaminess of the gelato was perfectly complemented by delicious flakes of dark chocolate. The sounds you made while eating were borderline sexual.
“If I had known it was this easy to make you moan, I would’ve introduced you to gelato ages ago.”
You lightly kicked him in the shin. “I still can’t believe you enchanted a mini fridge to hold your fancy imported dessert.”
It was actually quite impressive. You hadn’t even thought of doing that yourself and you were the muggleborn one.
“Perks of acing advanced muggle studies.”
“Having a Gringott’s vault at your disposal helps as well.”
“Smart, rich, and handsome. I’m just an all around catch, aren’t I?”
“Someday you’ll make some poor unsuspecting witch very, very miserable.”
“Someday?” Theo asked, the corner of his mouth curving into a mischievous smile. “Why wait? I’m perfectly capable of making you miserable now.”
With that, he took a dollop of his gelato and smushed it against the tip of your nose.
You gasped in surprise, squealing at how cold and sticky it felt against your skin. “You’re a dead man, Nott.”
Theo bolted to the other side of his dorm and you followed, trying to fling scoops of gelato at him. He giggled like a child as he dodged your attacks but there was only so much space for him to evade you. Finally, he gripped your wrists to keep you from retaliating.
“Here, let me clean you up.”
As you squirmed in his grasp, Theo leaned over and licked the tip of your nose. You squealed in disgust as he lapped up every bit of gelato. Theo sneakily took your cup from you and set them aside before leaning back to admire his work. From this close, you could see the gold flecks in his eyes. They darkened as you glanced up at him, his blue green gaze turning stormy.
“What?” you asked, brushing at your face. “Is my face all sticky and gross?”
Theo shook his head. “No—you look fine—more than fine you’re—“ He paused, stumbling for words. “Can I kiss you?”
The question suddenly made you feel nervous, which was ridiculous given the fact that you’d kissed Theo countless times before, but there was something about the way he looked at you now that felt…different.
“You’ve never asked before.”
Theo frowned. “Maybe I should have.” He ran his fingers through his hair nervously. “Gods, you’re right. I can be a real wanker sometimes.”
You smiled. “To be fair, I kissed you first. Mostly to shut you up, but still. I’ve never asked either.”
He swallowed thickly as he ran his fingers through your braid. “Well, can I?”
A knot formed in your stomach as you nodded. This was ridiculous. There was no need to be nervous. You repeated those words over and over again to yourself as Theo caressed your cheek, his gaze flickering over your face as though he was searching for that final missing piece of the puzzle. Then, gently, as gently as he ever had, Theo leaned in and kissed you.
He tasted like cigarettes and mint, like dark chocolate and cream, like stracciatella and sin.
But most of all, Theodore Nott tasted like your own personal unraveling.

Slytherin Boys – You put them in your place and now they want you back
Warning: Toxic Boys alert!
A/N: Thank you so much, that is very sweet of you! Hope you're taking care of yourself as well! ❤️ Sorry this took me so long – life is a bit busy right now and sometimes my brain just isn't braining. 🙃
This is as much "groveling" I could do, because honestly – I don't see them toxic boys being truthful when apologizing for being too controlling or possessive. It is up to you: Would you forgive them?
Also: Not proofread!
Comments are greatly appreciated!
Mattheo …
… didn’t let you walk far. He willed the anger away as best as he could before rushing after you. He couldn’t believe it himself, but you had him wrapped around your finger and he hated it. But the thought of you leaving him and being with someone else seemed unbearable – it made him want to rip his hair out and scream until his lungs bled. Was he afraid you’d reject him after the attitude you just displayed? Yes! But if you did reject him, he'd just have to resort to more … drastic measures. He is a Riddle after all.
He quickly found you at the party and pulled you aside by your arm. You raised your eyebrows at him as you turned around, crossing your arms over your chest – the smirk from before long gone.
“Look. I’m sorry for telling you what to wear. You are right – it isn’t my place to do so.” Hell yeah it is. Mattheo thought, not liking the bitter aftertaste the words left in his mouth. They were all lies. But it was either that or probably losing you.
His eyes lit up when he noticed your shoulders relax – your arms uncrossing and now hanging by your sides.
“Please forgive me. You’re just absolutely gorgeous and I guess I suddenly felt so insecure – which is not like me.” Mattheo added, inwardly gagging at the nonsense and vulnerability he was displaying. But you didn’t need to know that.
Jackpot. He thought as he watched your face soften, a reassuring smile on your face as you told him that there was no reason for him to be insecure.
Theodore …
… sighed defeatedly as you immediately pushed his hands off your body. He was caught off guard when you suddenly pushed him back out and slammed the door into his face.
“What the – come one!” He groaned, the lust from before being replaced by frustration. He tried turning the doorknob, but you had apparently locked it. Theodore rolled his eyes – he could always use his wand to unlock it. Leaning his forehead against the wooden surface of your door he spoke loud enough for you to hear.
“Bella, please open the door. Aren’t you overreacting?”
He was met with silence.
“Come on, open up and let’s talk about it.” He sighed heavily as he pressed his hear against the door.
But he was met with silence again.
“I was just worried about you, love.” Theo spoke louder, his patience wearing thin as he knocked loudly on your door.  He heard rustling behind the door but instead of unlocking the door you turned on some music. Loud music.
“That’s it.” Theodore grumbled under his breath before taking a step back. However, instead of using his wand – like any other student would have done – he chose to kick down the door. After a few tries he managed to break the lock, kicking the door open and walking into your room. He could fix the door later.
You stared at him in disbelief, your eyes wandering from your ruined door to his stoic face. He was panting slightly – obviously out of breath from the force he had to put into kicking the door down.
“Will you listen to me now?” He asked with his brow raised.
You crossed your arms defensively in front of your chest while avoiding eye contact. You wouldn’t give up that easily. Narrowing his eyes slightly, Theodore moved closer to you, his hands ghosting over your hips before slowly pulling you closer to him.
“Look, I’m really sorry for suffocating you with my love,” He murmured softly, his voice laced with hidden sarcasm, “I’ll stop annoying you with all the questioning. But I want you to know, that I’m just worried.” Theodore finished, his grip on your hips slightly tightening when you finally look up at him.
“Even Hogwarts isn’t as safe anymore.” His voice broke slightly towards the end of his sentence, his eyes downcast as his shoulders sagged. He knew you’d fall for it. You could never resist him if he acted so vulnerable in front of you – you’d have to hug him. And just as expected you immediately flung your arms around him, pulling him down to hug him. Your face pressed into the crook of his neck as you breathed in his scent with one of your hands combing through his hair. Theodore smirked as he tightened his hold on you, listening to you apologize for being such a diva and promising him to always tell him about your whereabouts – because he was right. Hogwarts wasn’t as safe anymore. Your boyfriend knew best, and he definitely knew how to play you like an instrument.
Lorenzo …
… was seething in his room. His mind swirling with what-ifs as he thought about you and Potter. His jaw clenched, gritting his teeth as he thought of the male. He hated him so much.  He hated him even more because he dared to befriend you – the love of his life. His girlfriend. He scoffed as he thought about your words. Annoyed that he couldn’t control you – that he couldn’t convince you to quit talking to that damned boy. He wanted to pay you back for it, make you suffer just as he was now. He wanted to see you cry and beg for him to love you. Only you. But he knew that whatever he had in mind would just push you away and right into that stupid Potter’s arms. He’d go ballistic if that happened.
He'd have to apologize. No matter how much he didn’t want to – because there was no reason to apologize, he had done nothing wrong – he knew that was what you wanted.
Letting himself fall on his bed he closed his eyes. He’d handle it tomorrow – he had to calm down first.
The next day Enzo went to Hogsmeade to buy you roses and your favorite sweets before making his way back to school. He kept going over the apology-speech he had thought of before going to sleep – hoping he’d not mess it up.
When he’d finally find you somewhere in the hallways he’d grow tense: There was still the lingering fear of you rejecting his apology. However, as soon as your eyes connected his shoulders relaxed slightly – you were so beautiful. Clearing his throat, he stopped two feet away from you, gripping the flowers in his hands tightly as he took in your appearance. You looked sad.
“I’m sorry for the way I acted yesterday. That was not fair of me at all.” Lorenzo apologized; his voice soft as he frowned slightly.
“I’ve been thinking about it the whole night …” Oh he had – he’d been thinking about all the ways he could make the Potter disappear.
“I feel horrible for the things I’ve said.” No, he didn’t. He still strongly believes he’s right.
“I have no right to tell you what to do and who to befriend.” Unfortunately, not. But he’d try to change that.
“Will you please forgive me?”
Draco …
… felt pathetic as he stood before you. His head hung low and his arms uselessly hanging at his sides – just as useless as he felt in that moment. He felt your eyes burn into him as you took in his appearance – you must be shocked to see him this disheveled. This broken. Your eyes softened slightly, your hands itching to lift his head and embrace him. He looked like he had been through hell. When he heard your soft voice uttering his name he dared to look up, his eyes red from the nightmares that haunted him in the nights. You couldn’t help it – you lifted your hands to cup his cheeks, your thumbs drawing small circles on his cheeks. You were close to tears.
“I’m so sorry …” He mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper as he averted his eyes again. “I’m so ashamed for the things I’ve said …” His voice broke, his whole body shaking from the sob that forced its way through his lips. Your heart shattered into tiny pieces – your poor boyfriend. You suddenly felt stupid for being friends with Potter and the rest, knowing well that he suffered so much because of them. Shaking your head you pulled him into your arms, hugging him tightly as you patted his back reassuringly, telling him how sorry you were for being so inconsiderate. For putting them above him.
Draco returned the hug hesitantly, desperately clinging onto your sweater as he cried into your hair with a small smile on his lips. Everything was going according to plan.
Blaise …
… wasn’t so sure anymore. Three days had passed, and you had still not come to him – neither did you reply to any of his messages. With a heavy sigh he stood up from his bed: He’d have to make it up to you, there was no other way around it.
Finding you was rather easy – he had gone to your dorm-room first. Knocking on your door he waited for a few seconds before you opened it, clad in joggers and his hoodie. You immediately frowned when you saw him, pushing the door close. Blaise reacted quickly and put his foot between the door and the doorframe.
“I want to apologize.” He rushed out, pulling his foot back when you opened the door again.
“I’m really sorry for what I did. I know you hate it when I get violent and I’m sorry I acted that way. Really – please, I’ll change.” He whispered brokenly as he stared deep into your eyes.
Tom …
… Riddle didn’t beg or ask for forgiveness. Never. But after a whole week of you ignoring him, he has had enough. He apparently needed you more than he let on – and more then you needed him, which bothered him tremendously.  He had tried everything: Read your mind, manipulate your thoughts – he even made Snape partner up with you for a project. But nothing seemed to work. He couldn’t see into your mind, and you skipped potions to avoid him as well. He had to talk to you. With clenched fists and a tight jaw, he approached you after dinner when you were alone.
“Why have you been ignoring me?” He questioned. His voice causing you to flinch and spin around to face him. You looked slightly nervous when you noticed him. Good. Tom thought. You didn’t answer him right away, which further added to his frustration. He wasn’t known to be a patient man. “Do you think you can survive without me?” He asked cockily, with his hand in his pockets – his fingers playing with his wand. Just in case.
You scoffed at his attitude. Even now, when he should be apologizing, he was nothing but arrogant. Rolling your eyes at him you told him to leave you alone – telling him it was over before taking a few steps back. You were afraid to turn your back towards him. And right you were – but you underestimated him. For he didn’t need you to turn his back towards him to take action. He whipped out his wand and grit out the imperio spell with a small flick of his wrist. You never stood a chance. Your eyes turned a misty color as they watched the tall male step closer to you. His free hand shooting out to softly caress your cheek before gripping your chin tightly.

“Hey, wait on!”
I turn around to see Hermione running to catch up with me, her suitcases on her trolley and her cat happily meowing in its cage.
“Hermione!” I exclaim as I give one of the trolley boys my trolley and go to hug her.
“Oh my gosh I haven’t seen you in ages!” she sighs as she hugs back tightly.
“I know, you promised to write, why didn’t you?” I say.
“Oh shush, it’s not like you sent me any care packages anyways.” she replies as she links our arms and starts leading us to one of the carriages once we’ve taken our pets off.
Hermione and I have been friends since the beginning of our first year, before we were friends with Ron and Harry actually.
To say that my mother was happy with our friendship is a huge lie.
Bellatrix Lestrange.
Even her name disgusts me, much less the things she’s done.
She was mortified. I still remember the look on her face when I brought Hermione over one time.
“A mudblood?” she had exclaimed.
“Why on earth would you want to be friends with the likes of them? You’re surely not my daughter, that’s for one thing.”
Hermione and I both knew what rejection felt like. Her, with most of the pureblood Slytherins, and me, with my pureblood Slytherin family.
My aunts and uncles are probably the worst of the bunch surprisingly.
Lucius and Nesta Malfoy.
Even their names are filled with poison.
Not to mention my cousin. Draco.
What a horrible waste of a family.
My uncle, Sirius, is the only one in the family who understands me. Coming from a highly Slytherin pureblood family, we were the only Gryffindors. God knows why.
I think the neglect from my mother and most family is what made me and Hermione such good friends. We both knew how the other felt.
“Have you seen Ron or Harry around yet?” I asked, settling down in the train cabin in the train with my cat, Alfie, in my lap.
“No, not yet. They should be coming up soon though.” Hermione replied and surely enough the door to the cabin opened and in came a mess of ginger hair, already complaining about God knows what;
closely followed by Harry who tried to say hello before he was cut off.
“Guys you’ll never guess what. Mum made me wear Fred and George’s old jumpers again. As if I’ll ever fit into these, they’re huge! And another thing, she said I’m not allowed to get a new pet so I’m stuck with this old bird.” he finishes his rant as he points to the old caged owl in his hands.
“Hello to you too Ron.” I say after a pause.
“Oh yeah, hi guys!” he says smiling.
Hermione rolls her eyes at him with a smile and pats on the space next to her, motioning him to sit down and Harry sits next to me after hugging me and Hermione.
“So what’s all this about Draco and a weird-looking cabinet? And who are all these people you’re talking about?” Ron asks Harry settling down and rubbing his hands together to warm them up.
“Don’t you see? It was a ceremony, an initiation.” Harry says, looking over at me.
“Stop that rubbish Harry. I know where you’re going.” Hermione says, trying to ignore whatever Harry and Ron were talking about and looking out the window.
“No guys listen to me, it’s happened. He’s one of them.” Harry says the last part quietly.
“One of what?” Ron asks, confused as I take a sigh and say,
“Harry’s under the impression that Draco Malfoy is a death eater.”
“You're barking.” Ron says as he sits up, ‘What would You-Know-Who want with Malfoy, he hasn’t got any hair to want Malfoy’s bleach bottle.”
“Well then what’s he doing in Borgin and Burkes? Browsing for furniture?” Harry quips.
“It’s a creepy shop. He’s a creepy bloke. Put two and two together and there you go.” Ron responds.
“Look, his dad’s a Death Eater, his aunt’s a Death Eater, most of his family is, whos to say he isn’t following in their footsteps.” Harry says as I look away in shame.
Harry realises his poor choice in words and says, “I need some air.” and walks out the cabin.
“He’s going mad I’m telling you.” Ron says to Hermione and I.
Hermione and I don’t say anything in response but busy ourselves with our reading books while Ron raids the sweet trolley.

It only took us around half an hour to get settled in our dorms again, this being our seventh year we had a lot more practice and we were all now making our way to the great dining hall.
“Welcome all students…” McGongall’s voice boomed as we took our seats, Hermione and Dean Thomas on either side of me with Ron and Ginny in front. Our table was on the other side of the hall to the Slytherin table but I could still see my cousin's crispy fried blonde hair as he took his seat next to one of his friends.
What was his name again?
Thomas?
Timothy?
“Why are you staring at Theodore Nott? I thought you hated him.” Ron interrupts my thoughts as he shoves a piece of chicken in his mouth.
Theodore. Right.
“And now with the sorting ceremony finished for another year, let us feast!” McGonagall’s voice, thankfully for once, gave me a chance to change the subject before things got weird.
“What? No I’m not, pass the mashed potatoes.” I say shrugging it off as I draw my attention to Hermione.
“Where’s Harry, he’s already missed the welcoming.” Hermione says, looking around in anticipation, clearly worried.
“Don’t worry, he’ll be here in a moment.” Ron responds shoving a spoon of jelley in his mouth.
Jelly with chicken? Ew.
Hermione stares at him for a moment before hitting him with her book repeatedly, making me laugh, “Will you stop eating? Your best friend is missing.” “Oi! Turn around you lunatic.”
We turn to where Ron is looking and see Harry walking towards us with a white cloth at his nose, stained in blood.
“Why do you always have to be covered in blood?” I say, taking the cloth from his hands as he sits next to me. I try to clean up his face the best I can.
“Where have you been? And whats happened to your face?” Hermione hisses at him.
“Later, what’ve I missed?”
“Sorting hat urged us to be brave and strong on these troubled times.” Ron replies.
“Easy for it to say, its just a bloody hat innit?’ I say.

“Y/N! GET UP!”
I open my eyes and see Hermione pacing around our room trying to get ready.
“What?” I say groggily, putting my head back on my pillow.
“I said get up, you’re going to be late and we have potions first thing.” she said as she pulled the pillow from under my head and tore the duvet off my body, forcing me to get ready.
“Eugh no I can’t deal with Snape this early.” I say as I make my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

“Attention to detail in the preparation is the prerequisite of all planning. Ah! Hello ladies. Please, please take a seat.” The professor says to us.
Wow. This is a change.
Hermione rushed to take the nearest seat available next to Lavender Brown which left me next to,
“Well hello to you too.” Theodore Nott says smirking up at me from his chair as I drop all my books down.
I took a seat before my knees had the chance to give out.
Woah, what?
“Hey.” I say curtly, drawing my attention to the assignment, trying to ignore Theodore’s piercing gaze and strong cologne.
“Late on the first day I see, not a good impression. If Snape were here, he’d have your heads.” Theodore says as he scribbles down the assignment on the board into his scrolls.
I roll my eyes and ask, ”Who’s this anyway?” as I copy the ingredients for the potion in my scrolls.
“Professor Slughorn. He’s taking our class for this year.” Theodore says as he waits for me to finish writing so we can get the ingredients for our potion from the back of the room. “The whole year?” I say standing up and making my way to the back with Theo, “What’s happened to Snape?”
“No idea love.” Theo says, making butterflies erupt in my tummy but I shove them down before they can travel up to my throat and make me say something flirty back.
Theodore and I never had a reason to dislike each other. Well, not officially. We never had a big fight or any interactions of any sort honestly. I didn’t even take any notice of him until he had beaten me to a question in first year in dark arts and gotten 10 house points because of it. Since then we’ve had something going on between us. The need to one-up one another, to be smarter in lessons and faster in quidditch.
I’m not going to deny that he was attractive, because God he was beautiful.
Beautiful and conceited.

Find Me in Between the Lines
Tumblr media
“Would you teach me?” “What?” “To read as you do.”
“There are not a lot of wizards that suffer blindness,” he replied with a chilling intonation. “I suspect you can learn of other things that may be more useful than this.”
“Is it so bad I’d want an excuse to spend more time with you?”
Word count: 3.9k
Pairing: Ominis Gaunt x F!Reader
A/n: I only posted this story on AO3 and Tumblr, if you find this anywhere else- it wasn't me!! Link *here* for the rest of the series this story is from!!!
Ominis Gaunt couldn’t remember a time in his life where he was fond of people. Not even his family made it into his good graces, no matter how much effort he attempted to include them in his personal affairs. The only person he could think of that showed him the true meaning of familial love was his own aunt: Noctua Gaunt. He was told she was a great beauty with wits to match. She shared the pale blond hair of their father’s side and dark eyes that witnessed many of the Gaunt’s dark secrets. In his loneliest moments, Ominis tried to picture what Aunt Noctua would look like. Whenever she spoke to him, he always heard the smile in her voice and the lightness within her heart- a trait that was regrettably limited to only one of the Gaunts.
The rest of his family had not been so kind.
Noctua would often send him letters laden with treats local from wherever it was she was visiting; she would ask how he was, what he was up to, what were his current favorite books.. The letters stopped years ago and Ominis was left with silence. It took him weeks to work up the courage to write to his father about her and to his surprise he received a letter back, albeit with a short and curt response.
‘I do not know.’
He was left to guess what really happened, until a few days ago where an unfortunate event transpired.
Noctua Gaunt’s remains were laid to rest in a part of the school that hadn’t seen life in thousands of years. In the pursuit of truth did she perish within the confines of Salazar Slytherin’s scriptorium. A fate that Ominis himself had resigned to until Sebastian and his new friend found a way out.
“Ready?”
“I’m ready.”
A pause, then- “Crucio!”
The details were secured within his mind and rose to perfect clarity whenever he required. He remembered covering his ears as she screamed. He wondered if that’s what his siblings heard? With a sound that horrible- why didn’t they stop on their own accord? It didn’t help that her body was cold when he caught her, breaking her fall. Her speech had been slurred so much that he had a difficult time translating what she was saying. His worst fears had come to surface that day. There were stories of the Cruciatus Curse that haunted him late into the night. Stories that involved people losing their minds had the curse been inflicted on them long enough; that was if they survived the initial bouts of pain. Some had their bodies simply give up due to the duress.
They were the lucky ones.
The ones who survive would have their minds reduced to nothing. Not even a single thought would light up their heads, nor inspiration nor recognition could be formed ever again.
The House of Gaunt was naught but a shadow in his memory with mere ghosts that haunted its walls and called him ‘brother’ or ‘son’. Family was a foreign and strange concept; though of course, that all changed when Sebastian Sallow, and his sister Anne, came into his life. The days he spent with the two of them brought the most warmth to his days and he loved them for it; and despite Sebastian’s callous claims that Ominis didn’t care enough about Anne, he did. Though no cure was worth delving into whatever hole Sebastian found himself in.
A hole I helped him find. The quill in his hand had nearly snapped at the thought that intruded. He hated himself for allowing the secret of the Scriptorium to be leaked, but Sebastian’s friend had spoken such sweet promises and reassurances that he didn’t mind at the time. He was partially grateful that he finally learned the truth about Aunt Noctua and was given a chance to perform a proper send off near the lake where he stacked stones smoothed by the waters atop each other. He left a bouquet of her favorite flowers by the makeshift cairn and inhaled the familiar scent of Narcissus lilies that once resided within his aunt’s perfume bottles. There wasn’t anyone that comforted him the day he held a small ceremony to say farewell to the only blood relative that saw him more than a burden. He told not a soul, not even his closest friend, when he remained in the Undercroft and cried.
He straightened his back against the wooden chair and forced himself to refocus on the task at hand. Turning the page seemed achingly loud and he took more care to flip them apart as he fingered through. There was nothing quite like a location that forced people to be quiet no matter the circumstance. He found solace within one of the tables towards the back. From the cooler ambient, he knew it was one that lay concealed in shadows. This was one of the best spots where few bothered him, that is, until he heard someone walking his way.
A subtle waft of something floral snuck into his nose. “What are you doing here?”
“How did you know it was me?” The voice of the new student whispered softly to him.
“I have to recognize people from something besides looks.” She was quiet and he hastily added: “Don’t look too far into it.”
“How can you recognize Sebastian?”
“His walk. No one else could convincingly brandish that amount of swagger without making a fool of themselves.”
She laughed. “You’re right on that.” Something shifted that sounded a lot like heavily bound books. “May I sit with you?”
“Why?” his question shot out like a spell, quick and with reflex.
“I, er, I was looking for a quiet place.”
“It’s a library,” he responded coolly. “You may find quiet places almost anywhere that aren't occupied.”
There was no response for a few seconds and he imagined she had already left, until she spoke softly again. “I understand. It was nice seeing you, Ominis.” Her footsteps had begun to recede until he spoke up.
“Wait.” The footsteps stopped. “I.. I’m sorry. Please, take a seat.” A chair next to him moved and groaned as weight was introduced upon the cushion. The first time he had met her, he was rather sweet and welcoming. But the instant he learned that Sebastian introduced her to the Undercroft without alerting him had left sour grapes on his tongue. He also heard rumors of Sebastian spending time with Hogwart’s latest mystery out of school grounds. It was enough to send an ugly tendril of insecurity with no small part of jealousy added into the mix. Has Sebastian tired of him already?
“..How are you? I didn’t think I’ve asked yet.”
Ominis scoffed. “I should be the one asking that. Not you.” Her screams surfaced into his mind from memory. “You were out cold. Sebastian and I were nearly hysterical.”
“Is that so?” she chuckled softly. “I don’t remember a thing beyond closing my eyes and drifting off into sleep.”
“Quite so. We haven’t argued like that in a long while.”
“Regardless. I’m grateful to both of you for not leaving me in the Scriptorium.” She paused. “Whose idea was it to sneak me into your dorm?”
“Mine.”
There was stunned silence. “That’s not who I expected,” she admitted shyly. “The Slytherin Common Room is gorgeous, makes me wish I’d been sorted in.. Imagine my surprise when I woke up in bed with Sebastian. We were so close I could count the freckles on his face with ease.”
“I bet he would have enjoyed that.”
“You think so?”
“He fancies you.”
“I believe it’s more because he needs me for something than that.”
“You’re far too gracious. He’s been beside himself with worry. All he could talk about was how you looked when you sat limp in my arms..” Ominis trailed off, realization striking him. “Is that why you’ve been avoiding him?”
“He’s noticed, has he?”
“Yes. And he won’t stop pestering me about it. I would consider it a personal favor if you talked to him and requested that he stop.”
“I will. I just need some time to think about things.”
“Very well. I’m sure you and Sebastian have your own secrets.” He knew full well that there was a hint of jealousy in his voice. A part of him hated how quickly Sebastian took to the new fifth-year, while another part of him was merely curious.
“You and I could have some as well. I’ll confess something..” He heard her clothes rustling and assumed she was making herself more comfortable. “Yes. I’ve been avoiding Sebastian. I’ve been cursed before- by people far worse. But none of them scared me like he did.” She swallowed and continued, breathless. “I know you have to mean it when you cast you-know-what. But it’s a different sort of pain when it comes from someone you care about. I hope that makes sense.”
Ominis knew exactly how that felt.
“Never mind all of that,” she urged. “I’m more curious about that magic you were using earlier on one of your books.”
He felt hot behind the ears. How long was she standing there to watch him transcribe the letters inside his book into Braille? It was not as if she was working up the courage, surely? “It’s a spell my aunt helped me develop,” he started tentatively. “It changes letters into Braille and vice versa. Since not all of wizard kind suffers from my ailment, it’s rare that I find any book that suits my particular needs.”
“Your aunt sounds like a spectacular person.”
For the first time in a while, a warm smile lit up his face. “Yes. She was.”
“Would you teach me?”
“What?”
“To read as you do.”
At that moment he didn’t know how to react. Maybe he should be angry? Suspicious, perhaps? He settled for a probing question. “Why?”
“Because, it seems handy.”
“There are not a lot of wizards that suffer blindness,” he replied with a chilling intonation. “I suspect you can learn of other things that may be more useful than this.”
“Is it so bad I’d want an excuse to spend more time with you?”
And just like that, the ice had drained from him. Clearing the fields as the sun did for the frost-bitten valleys come spring. It was replaced with embarrassment and the irresistible urge to make up for the way he’d been treating her. Hesitantly, he slid over a book and began pointing out the alphabet in order. “This single dot means A.. These mean B.. When you put them together..” He appreciated that she was silent as he taught her each letter one-by-one with only a short hum to let him know that she memorized the latest letter down the row.
“This may take some time to get used to,” she whispered.
“It’s not so difficult,” he murmured back. “Just like with any concept you must learn. The symbols come first, then understanding.” Sliding the book over, he felt her arm move up, brushing against his as she passed her fingers to the page. Her movements were quick, unsure, and Ominis sighed. “Start from the left towards the right.”
His patience rescinded and without thinking, he searched until he found her hand. Only then did he realize how cold his skin was compared to hers. Ominis refocused on his task. Taking her through the motions, he showed her how he would usually read. Starting from the top left, skimming all the way to the right before shifting to the beginning of the next sentence.
There was surprise in her voice. “I don’t believe I can learn that fast.”
“Sebastian tells me otherwise. Now try again.” She mimicked his movements, going down the list with his finger close to hers.
She spoke as she read along. “The… Go..Goblin R.. Rebellion of… 1612..”
“You’re doing well.”
“Only because I’ve read this passage before and memorized it.”
“Then let’s do something you haven’t memorized.” He took another book entirely and flipped to a random page. His wand tapped the page. “ Intra Intellegentium! Try this- no peeking.” Her fingers found the page and he listened as she struggled to sound out the words.
“‘H’..h, right? Let’s see. ‘H..o..” She paused, her finger rubbing over a specific set of bump again. “Ominis-”
“Horklumps,” he confirmed after running his hand over it. “‘Horklumps can be found in varying numbers depending on humidity, light, and if someone had perished on the spot they sprouted on.’”
She laughed to herself. “I may need some practice.”
“Indeed you do.” He let her memorize the alphabet on her own just as curiosity burned through him. “In the Scriptorium, Sebastian mentioned that ‘between the two of us, he was starting to feel left out’. What did he mean?”
She was quiet for a bit, then- “I won’t lie to you again, Ominis. But that is something I must tell you about another day. I’m sorry. I can’t risk having you involved, too.”
'Too'? Is it another one of Sebastian’s games? “What are you talking about?”
“Ominis,” she insisted. “It isn’t wise that I involve more of my friends than I need to. Trust me. When it’s all over, I’ll tell you. I promise.” He heard her begin to pack up her things. “It was nice spending time with you.”
There was no time to respond as her hurried footsteps told him she was in a rush to head to whatever grand adventure she had waiting. He sat for a moment before packing up his things and departing himself until he stopped and blinked. Ominis felt as if he was hovering in a dream as his thoughts came as fast as someone who tried to run through muck. Did she just call him her ‘friend’?
***
“What does she look like?”
“Sorry?”
“Your friend. Describe her to me.”
He heard Sebastian shift his weight as he sat up in bed. “Why do you want to know?” Suspicion had made his voice lower in tone. “You never seemed to care much before.”
“I’m curious.”
“She looks like a girl.”
“Come off it, Sebastian.”
“She has a face.”
“Very well. If you insist on continuing this charade then I’ll ask her myself.”
Ominis pulled the sheets over him and turned his back to Sebastian’s voice.
“Wait-” he heard him sit up more. “Is she talking to you?” Ominis didn’t say anything. “Ominis. Has she said anything to you recently? Why isn’t she talking to me?” When he didn’t reply, he heard Sebastian let out a disgruntled sigh before he too pulled his cover over him.
The next day, she found him in the library once more. He memorized her hurried footsteps and found it amusing how they never seemed to slow down no matter where she was headed. Their spot was almost exclusive again as they both made themselves comfortable. Only the sounds of light tapping on an ink pot and quills scratching against paper accompanied the peace. Ominis reached forward to where his ink pot was and felt his fingers brush against something warm.
“Sorry,” came a low murmur.
“It’s alright.” Ominis set his quill down. “I must ask: why do you insist on spending time with me?”
“You’re the only one who doesn’t think to ask me anything besides peace,” she answered and sounded so earnest that he felt as if she was telling the honest truth.
“Are you leading me to believe that everyone you’ve met has thus asked you for a favor?”
“Yes. I don’t mind lending a helping hand, but it gets exhausting. Sometimes I would like to simply sit down and read and not be bothered-" her voice sounded muffled and he assumed she covered her face with her hands as he only caught tidbits that sounded like 'goblins', 'poachers', 'magic', and 'keepers'.
“You and I are alike in that regard then. I enjoy my silence.” Ominis thumbed through the pages of his copy of the ‘History of Magic: An Unabridged Guide’. “Actually, I may have to break that accord.”
“What is it?” There was a cautious edge to her voice.
This made him chuckle. “Don’t worry. I won’t ask you to delve into old ruins in search of a family heirloom or fight another troll. I simply wish to know what you look like.”
“I- hm.” She hummed. “I don’t know where to start. Shall I start describing the color of my hair?”
“Here-” he motioned for her to come closer. “This is much more simple and straightforward.” At first he hesitated, but when he felt her warmth come closer, he had a blossoming sense of bravery.
“What am I supposed to do?”
“Hold your face out,” he said with such simplicity and calmness that even the tone of his voice surprised him. Reaching forward, he felt around the air until he came into contact with skin. The flesh under his fingers went rigid under his touch and he quickly urged her. “Calm yourself. I simply wish to learn what you look like. I can’t say I fancy picturing myself talking to a mannequin for the entirety of our relationship.”
At his words, she relaxed and let his hands see her face.
His index trailed upwards to follow the hairline and felt her hair and how soft it felt, next, he accidentally brushed against her ears and didn’t reprimand her when she told him that it tickled. Her eyelashes tickled him back in revenge when he passed over her eye to the bridge of her nose to her other eye. His palm lay flat on her cheek with the rest of his fingers stopping there to let the thumb go on without them. Next came the tip of her nose before going down to press against her lips. His heart seemed to catch in his throat when his thumb grazed her bottom lip. For a second he believed that she pushed her lips against his finger and left a kiss there, but both of them said nothing to each other in that moment nor the one after. Ominis pulled back, a silent ‘thank you’ was uttered under his breath.
“Do you know what you look like?”
“I haven’t had the pleasure,” he stated curtly.
“May I do you the honor of describing you, then?”
“You may try.”
The sound of scraping wood grated his ears as her chair was being pushed closer to his. A presence was more noticeable at his side where she leaned in to get a better look. She hummed, tapping her fingers against the wood and seemed to take what felt like ages to decide where to attack first.
“You are very handsome,” she concluded.
Ominis felt he would sputter his words and kept his mouth clamped shut instead. “Your skin is pale. There are moles here-” her finger traced over his face and tapped where the marks were, “-here and here.” She traced down the bridge of his nose. “A pointed tip, and sharp lips that seem to always be fixed into a frown. You truly do have an air of austerity about you.”
“I do not-”
“Shh.”
The finger was placed against his lips and remained there until she was sure he wouldn’t open them again. She traced along his jaw now and in that moment he felt what she must have when he was examining her face. For lack of better description, he felt naked beneath her scrutinizing gaze.
“Rather sharp jaw,” he heard the frown in her voice. “It seems you were blessed with looks at birth. Are you aware of what the other Gaunts look like?”
“I’m told my family possesses some sort of allure. Mother always praised my older siblings on how handsome they were.”
“It’s an apt description. You are.” The bell tower announced the time somewhere in the far distance, a sound that was followed by a chair scraping against wood. Warmth left his face like the sun retreating behind a large mountainside. “I’ve got to go. I’ve an engagement I must hurry to.”
“I wasn’t aware you and Sebastian had something planned today.”
“Because we don’t. It’s.." she hesitated. "Complicated.” Her finger seemed to tap along the wood of the desk in a nervously paced rhythm.
“Will you keep another secret for me?”
“I suppose I can. What is it?”
“I’m meeting a goblin. He has information I need and working with him might prove beneficial. Just don’t tell Sebastian this yet.”
“I shan’t, but-” He raised his brows. “You’re aware he’s not overly fond of goblins after what happened to Anne, correct?”
“Yes, I know. I will tell him in time, just not now. I fear his reaction may be a bit too much to handle at the moment.” She sighed heavily. “Still, it feels good to get that off my chest. Thank you for listening. You’re a good friend, Ominis. We should spend more time together.” With that, he heard her take off towards the front of the library.
***
I hope my owl finds you well. I’ve transformed the letters into Braille and hope with sincerity that you cannot make sense of it. Should you ever find yourself in dire need of a reading partner, find comfort with the knowledge that you may ask me.
It’s also my displeasure to report that the time I spent with you in the library was not as bad as I previously imagined and that I do not mind repeating the experience.
Sincerely,
Ominis Gaunt

IF I GET HIGH | MATTHEO RIDDLE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHARACTERS : Mattheo Riddle — GENRE : pure angst — WARNINGS : Mattheo has a panic attack, drugs and alcohol. — REQUESTED : no.
Note : story is inspired by If i get high by nothing but thieves :)
Mattheo was growing tired. He was currently at the three broomsticks at Hogsmeade, near a window, with a perfect view of a father and son going past. The young kid slipped on an unleveled stone in the stone walkway. Mattheo waited with bated breath for the father's reaction, but all he did was smile at the boy, help him up, and pat him on the back, assuring him that everything would be alright. The boy simply smiles at his father before pointing to an ice cream shop and heading towards it. Mattheo stared at the spot where the boy had fallen and let out a breath he had been holding. His face was emotionless, almost numb. He’d been spacing out more than usual lately, and his friends were starting to notice. He came to the three broomsticks to be alone for a bit and try to get stuff off his mind, but it seemed like the universe had other plans. There was going to be a party in the Slytherin common room later tonight, and he was mentally preparing himself for all the questioning looks. Normally, he enjoyed the attention and watching how others reacted to him as the dark lord's son, but lately, the glances ranged from uneasiness or fear to concern, which he despised. It made him feel as if everyone was watching and waiting for him to crumble. He hasn't even had the energy to respond to the people staring; typically, he'd shout an insult or make a witty remark, but he can't be bothered anymore.
Mattheo stood in front of his dorm bathroom mirror, staring at himself. His eyes were glossy and dull, and despite the fact that he appeared emotionless, he felt the opposite; he was filled with so many emotions. His father expected him to gather more people to join his army, so he demanded Mattheo recruit his friends, leaving Mattheo with an empty feeling in his stomach. The Slytherin party was about to start, and his friends were waiting for him in their dorm. Mattheo turned the bathroom doorknob slowly before stepping out of the bathroom and getting the attention of the other two boys in the dorm. "So, you finally decided to grace us with your presence. I was starting to think you were hiding in there forever." Lorenzo spoke up with a grin as Mattheo approached the boys with an uninterested look. Lorenzo and Theo stood up, each holding a plastic bag of goods. Mattheo guessed it was a combination of drugs, munchies, and party game supplies. "Ready to go?" Theo asked with a curious expression. Mattheo loathed how much Theodore could see through him, he did his best to deliver one of those sarcastic smirks. "Of course I am. Do you think I'm scared?" Mattheo asked, tilting his head slightly. Theodore looked at him, concerned, before sighing, "Okay, let's go then." He motioned towards the door, and the three boys left their dorm to join the Slytherin party.
Multiple Slytherin students hooted and wooed as the boys entered the common room. Lorenzo smiled at the audience before turning to face the other two boys. "Separate and conquer, boys!" "We'll meet up for party games later." He offered the other two boys a friendly wink before slipping into the crowd. Theodore stared at Mattheo again with a look Mattheo couldnt quite place "I'll be by the drinks." With that, Theo went. Mattheo remained there for a second, staring at the other Slytherin students, before taking a deep breath and running his hand through his hair. He began walking because he needed to; if he stood and observed, he would become paralyzed, and he despised being stuck. He grabbed one of the firewhiskys from the drink table and chugged it. He liked the scorching sensation that slid down his throat; it served to distract him from everything else. He badly wanted to be in charge of his life, and as he continued to drink, he felt peaceful because he was choosing to do so. He is in control of himself right now. Mattheo's body began to tingle, but he ignored it, remaining in control as he picked up another cup and turned around. His gaze fell on Theodore, who had his back against the wall, talking to a blonde Slytherin girl. He tilted his head at her and whispered something in her ears, to which she simply giggled. Mattheo felt tingling sensations spread throughout his body, becoming nearly painful in his hands. He cannot picture seeing Theodore working for his father. He watched Theodore laugh with the girl before looking around and searching for Lorenzo who was sitting on the couch, talking to a group of people. He approached Lorenzo, trying to steady his breath. He glanced around, discovered Lorenzo's plastic bag, and looked inside it. Mattheo reached inside his bag for several joints and a lighter before returning his gaze to Lorenzo, who was preoccupied with the group's conversation. Lorenzo has a full life ahead of him, and Mattheo knew he couldn't spoil it simply because his father said so. Mattheo puts the joints and lighter in his pocket and walks away from where Lorenzo was. He sees Theodore again, still talking and laughing with the Slytherin girl. Mattheo walks by them without Theo even noticing.
Mattheo comes out of the common room and stares down at his hand, which has curled into itself. He attempts to open it, but it's difficult and uncomfortable. As he walks, chills run down his body, and he tries to take a breath but chokes. He feels like his entire body has been set on fire while also being extremely cold. He feels his heart sink as he realizes he is choking, forcing something to snap inside him. He was walking at a decent pace one second, then running the next. He has no idea why he was running away, but he knew he had to; if he looked back, he would be stuck and paralyzed. He arrives at the astronomy tower and starts jogging up the stairs, but with each step he takes, he feels faint. He has no idea how he hasn't yet because he isn't sure if he is breathing or not. He reaches the top of the tower and collapses to his feet, placing his hand on his throat in an attempt to breathe. He felt as if he wasn't breathing; he needed to feel anything. He stands up carefully and walks, approaching the tower's rails. As the chilly air struck him, he took another breath and finally felt like he was breathing. He sat down, facing the landscape, and returned his attention to his hand. The pins and needles were so painful that he attempted desperately to move his hand, but it kept locking back up. His shoulders and stomach were so sore. He's trying hard to remain calm, but everything hurts. He lies down on his back, staring at nothing. He takes one of the joints out of his pocket and puts it in his mouth before taking the lighter and lighting it. He takes a deep drag from the joint before exhaling. His body is still numb and throbbing, and he desperately wanted to curl up and disappear. He shuts his eyes, takes a few breaths away from the world for a moment, and feels something wet slide down his face. He rubs his face, confused, and opens his eyes, only to discover that his vision is blurry. He sits up, scared, and rubs his eyes, attempting to wipe away any tears. He is not a cryer; he dislikes crying, so why is he crying? The panic he had gotten rid of returned as he held his knees to his chest. He cannot comprehend what went wrong and why he is broken like this. Why can't he be normal? Why was he doomed to live like this? Forced to be his fathers son? He choked back more emotions and leaned his head on top of his knees, staring into the view. All he longed for was to have control over his own life - to dictate his own destiny without the meddling of others. Yet, as he stared at the view of Hogwarts before him, he realized that he couldn't outrun his destiny. He was tied to his fate like a puppet on a string, and no matter how hard he struggled, he would always be controlled by something greater than himself.

Since I privated all of my fics and all I have on my ao3 is a dark!Remus AU oneshot, I figured I would share a snippet of a fic that I was working on before I lost inspiration. I'm not sure if I'll ever return to this idea (maybe someday), but this idea features Slytherin!Sirius and was intended to be a rivals/enemies to lovers wolfstar (with background jegulus) that follows the marauders through each year at Hogwarts.
(When I said "idk I'm new here" I meant it, so idk if I'm doing this right but HERE WE GO)
...
Remus' worst subject is Potions.
This is largely due to the fact that Professor Slughorn is the worst and seems to think it's a good idea to assign everyone a "potions partner." And since that's not horrible enough by itself, he decided to pair each Gryffindor with a Slytherin for a partner since they share the period. He calls it "a gesture of house unity."
Of course, Sirius is a masterful potioneer. It's honestly infuriating the way he doesn't even have to reference the textbook in order to brew a perfect potion. He always does a one-over of the ingredients and the instructions, closes his textbook and tucks it away, and never glances at it again as he proceeds to create a flawless potion.
So James ended up paired with Severus. Peter is paired with Mulciber. And Remus was lucky enough to be landed with Sirius Black.
Meanwhile, Remus always ends up making several trips to the ingredients storage cupboard because he keeps forgetting something and he has to reference each step in the potion-making process in the textbook about a million times before he's confident that he's doing it right.
So naturally, Sirius is usually finished with his assignment early on while Remus is still frantically chopping ingredients or stirring the cauldron with immense concentration to make sure he gets the number of rotations exactly right.
And Sirius gets bored. And when Sirius gets bored, he entertains himself with cruel taunts and pranks.
Today, they are attempting to brew sleeping draughts. It's a simple enough potion, Remus actually thinks he stands a shot at scraping through this particular lesson. But Sirius has other ideas.
"Those aren't asphodel petals."
Remus grits his teeth without looking up from the task of counting out exactly 13 dried petals. "Yes, they are."
Sirius likes to make Remus second-guess himself. He seems to think it a fun game to convince Remus that he's mucking up every assignment. Remus ended up ruining his potion and filling the entire classroom in a cloud of purple foam when he fell for it last time. He has found that his best chance at success is ignoring any advice from Sirius.
"Nope, those are hyacinth petals," Sirius says matter-of-factly, leaning against the table and eyeing the white petals coolly. "Trust me, you don't want to add hyacinth petals to this potion."
Remus almost falters. Either Sirius is very persuasive or Remus is very naive because he knows better than to fall for this. "I know what ingredients I have. The label said asphodel."
"Then it was mislabeled," Sirius quips back. "Because those are not asphodel petals."
Remus can't help it. He pauses for a moment to peer at the white petals, frowning uncertainly. He glances at the picture in the textbook, and it doesn't really help to clear his self-doubt. They look like the same general shape and color, but it's hard to tell since they're all dried and shriveled.
He decides to stick to his gut this time and pointedly begins the task of grinding the flowers into a fine powder. Because even if he's wrong, at least it'll be an honest mistake and not the result of childlike gullibility.
Sirius shrugs and pushes off the edge of the table. "Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Remus looks up at him. Sirius smirks back. He's bluffing. He's just trying to trick Remus into fucking up his potion.
Remus defiantly tips the powdered petals into the cauldron, and right as he does so, Sirius backs away from the table. And Remus has about 1 second to realize that he was, in fact, not bluffing this time before the world goes dark.
Waking up is humiliating. Remus finds himself blinking back into consciousness lying on the floor of the dungeon. His vision is all hazy and his mouth tastes funny and he is surrounded by a crowd of onlookers. Professor Slughorn is leaning over him, lightly slapping the side of his face to rouse him.
"Come on, my boy, up, up. You're alright, just a small mishap," he says, nudging Remus until he sits upright. "It appears you've mistakenly used hyacinth petals instead of asphodel, it's a common error, the fumes from such a concoction will knock a Hippogriff unconscious upon contact." To the class, he raises his voice to add, "Do be sure to double check the labels in the store room so we can avoid incidents such as this one in the future!"
James comes forward to help Remus to his feet, and Remus can't help swaying a little once he's standing. His head feels terribly woozy and he thinks he might vomit.
"I tried to warn him, Professor Slughorn," Sirius pipes up, expression perfectly innocent. "I told him he had hyacinth petals, but he wouldn't listen to me."
Remus shoots a glare at Sirius, but there's no use trying to defend himself. Slughorn adores Sirius, he's one of his most favorite "Slug Club" pupils, and he can do no wrong in Slughorn's mind.
Slughorn lets out a huff of disappointment, shaking his head. To the class, he declares, "Well, then, let this be a valuable lesson! We should not allow pride to close our minds. We should always be willing to accept genuine advice from others, even those we don't necessarily get along with." He directs that last part to Remus with a stern look. Then, he gestures at Sirius. "Sirius, m'boy, since you have already completed today's assignment, would you be a lad and escort Mr. Lupin to the hospital wing? Simply a precaution, I'm sure there is nothing to worry about, but Poppy may wish to administer a Pepperup potion to counter the effects of the sleeping gas."
Sirius starts to agree when James cuts in. "Sir, I've finished my potion, too, so I could escort Remus to the hospital wing. If that's alright?"
Remus doesn't have a chance to feel grateful to James because Slughorn immediately turns him down. He goes on one of his ruddy "house unity" spiels and insists that Sirius be the one to accompany Remus. So Remus resigns himself to the ongoing humiliation of trailing out of the classroom behind Sirius fucking Black.
Remus is still a little unsteady on his feet and he has the unyielding desire to just lie down and sleep on the floor. But when Sirius offers out his arm to steady him, Remus ignores him and pointedly staggers ahead.
Sirius just shrugs and follows after him. "Hey, it's not like I didn't try to warn you."
"Yeah, you're such a bloody saint," Remus mutters. "Slughorn certainly seems to believe your act."
"Aww, have we still got our knickers in a twist over the girding potion last month?"
"You swapped my doxy eggs for fairy eggs!"
"Or maybe you're just really bad at Potions," Sirius snarks back. "The only resemblance between the two is the size. Doxy eggs are black, fairy eggs are brightly coloured. It's your own fault you didn't notice."
"Yeah, I'm bad at Potions," Remus grumbles. "Which means I am perfectly capable of mucking it up all on my own, without any help from you. Can't you just let me fail in peace?"
"Where's the fun in that?" Sirius laughs. "I've never met anyone as hopelessly gullible as you, Loopy, you make it too easy."
Remus clenches his jaw and falls silent for the rest of the walk. When they reach the hospital wing, Sirius turns on his "innocent-good-boy" act for Madame Pomfrey and informs her of what happened before Remus has a chance to open his mouth.
She thanks Sirius for being so bloody chivalrous for taking the time to escort Remus here and tells him that he is free to leave as she bustles off to fetch some Pepperup potion from the storage room. Sirius departs with a charming smile, but he pauses in the doorway once Pomfrey is gone.
He looks at Remus and smirks wickedly. "I swapped the labels."

"good morning. " Theo spoke, you felt his cold breath caressing the back of your ear.
He spoke with his classic lyrical smile you always adored.
You felt his presence behind you, while he had awaited yours.
"Good morning, Theodore. " you replied.
"Oh please, diletto. Call me Theo. " He replied.
Diletto, you had no idea what it meant but oh.
It sounded like a sweet desert,
a constellation,
a melody,
it sounded like a poem.
It
Sounded
Like
You
Would
Write
It
like
this.
"Sure, Theo. " you smiled. Devouvered by butterflies hidden behind the best poker face you could make.
"Great work at potions today. " He grinned but you saw right through him.
He looked so readable.
I think he knows.
"Um yeah, just luck if I'm being honest" you replied. Playing along even though it was quite obvious that he was playing you.
"pretty sure it's called plagarism, love." He grinned.
As suspected, You were right. But it was pretty easy to make out with his obvious face.
" I guess you inspired me. " You played along, showing absolutely no emotion. This was new to you. You were suddenly no longer that shy, awkward little ravenclaw. Atleast not around him. At the moment.
"What do you mean? " Theo replied as his eyebrow jerked up in confusion.
"Your tiny little notebook in your left pocket. " You replied with a flat voice as his indigo eyes met yours.
Theo let out a long chuckle as he pulled out his notebook from his pockets.
"This little thing?, you mean my notes? The one filled with my experiments on potions? " Theo spoke with a cocky smile and stared at you, clearly amused.
The cold sting of embarrassment ran through your blood, and it wasn't leaving any time soon.
"I- that's got to be cheating somehow." You replied, not wanting to put yourself in the wrong.
He leaned in towards your face and snickered.
He's got your heartbeat.
He's got that boyish look you liked in a man.
"You'd fit perfectly in Slytherin. "
You felt his minty breath as he whispered in your ear.
Like you want him,
Bless your soul.
And you ain't gotta tell him
I think he knows
You think he knows.
He leaned back and gave you a grin as he walked away, to his next class, halfway through you decided to finally except your stupid little mistake.
"Theo wait. " You spoke loud as you saw him turn his head towards you.
"I really am sorry . I think you deserve this. " You said as you got out your tiny vile of felix and waved it at him.
He grinned and pulled out his notebook again.
I think he knows.
"I could make it myself if I wanted you know. " He replied with a cocky expression.
"right."
"Right." He chuckled once more.
"goodbye, diletto. " He spoke as he left.
You were completely flustered at his sudden accent change when he spoke cute little Italian words. He was just too perfect, too perfect to be real. Almost as if he were a mere book character.
And oh boy would you love to see what's under all that attitude.
It took you a while to comprehend what had just happened but it was certain that your diary was going to have atleast seven pages dedicated to your small little interaction.
Oh how bad you wanted him (bless your soul).

You and your best friend, Hanamaki Takahiro, were currently standing together underneath the pavilion with the sole purpose of watching your mutual friends on the Slytherin team.
The players were waiting for the rainstorm to pass before resuming their practice: all huddled around in a circle with their hoods up. It was nearly impossible to see past the rain due to the force of the wind and rain whipping around the pavilion the two of you stood under.
Makki had suggested that the two of you go watch your friends practice this week because they had a big game coming up soon. You had nothing better to do and Oikawa had begged you to come watch him specifically as he claimed he needed your praise to calm his nerves.  He made a scene of asking you, even going as far as bending down on one knee with a rose he had conjured up on the spot—his crazy, romantic gestures always made you laugh and you couldn’t help but accept knowing that he simply just wanted you to feel included in something he loved.
You squint your eyes with the intention of trying to tell the players apart, but with the intensity of the rainstorm, you found it difficult.
“Looking for someone in particular, aren’t you?” Hanamaki smirked knowingly, nudging your shoulder with enough force to make you lose your balance.
“I swear, one day I might just strangle you in your sleep. Then, you’ll really regret ever being mean to me.”
As you regained your balance from Makki’s shove, you huffed in frustration at how observant he could be.
“Oh, but I thought you could handle a little roughin’ up?”  Makki sported a shit-eating grin with the quirk of his brow. “Can’t you, (Name)?”
He cackled as you reared your fist back to punch him in the chest. Although you made a show of winding your fist back to hit him, when your fist made contact, you put no real strength behind it. He cackles even louder when you pout and are unable to respond with a witty comment like you usually would. It’s like he’s proud of himself for bringing up your sworn-to-death secret; you can only side eye him from your peripheral, trying to move on from the topic at hand as soon as possible.
You fight off the urge to scrunch your nose up in shame as you recall the truth you confessed to your friends when playing Truth or Dare a couple months ago.
“What’s something you’ve never told anybody else?” Oikawa looks in your direction after he reads a ‘Truth’ question off a card.
You and your friends sat in a circle on the floor, surrounded by the darkness of the Slytherin commons; it was extremely late at night, but there was no stopping Makki and Mattsun once they set their minds on something.  The only light in the room was the dim light from the logs that were burning in the fireplace. You sat across from Oikawa, staring blankly at the floor, desperately trying to think of something shallow to say in response.
“(Name), make it something juicy or else you’re wasting my and Mattsun’s precious time.” Makki, who was sitting on your left, leaned in close enough for his warm breath to fan your face and you covered it on instinct.
“Oh god…okay.”
You spread your fingers apart to peek at your friends who were anxiously waiting for your answer.
“I’ll spill. But only if you guys promise to never bring it up again.” You tore your hands from your face and wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to accept the ugly fact that you’re going to tell all of your closest friends one of your biggest fantasies.
 Sugawara and Kuroo both nodded in your direction while Makki and Mattsun shared knowing looks; a look that meant they’d store this information in their memory forever. You groaned at the realization but carried on anyway.
“(Name)-chan, it stays between us. Promise.”Oikawa smiled and extended his pinky towards you. You returned the smile and graciously wrapped your own around his to seal the promise.
“Okay, so…”
“(NAME)!” Mattsun shouts when he realizes you’re trying to stall; he’s extremely impatient in every aspect of life, even when playing a simple game of Truth or Dare. He groans, stretches his legs out dramatically, and falls backwards to lay on his back. You seize the opportunity to playfully slap his stomach, which causes him to immediately roll over to avoid another.
“My truth is…that I secretly want someone to maybe…manhandle me?” You hesitated as you spoke each word, eyes flickering to each of your friends' faces to gauge their reactions. They all burst out in a laughter so contagious that you couldn’t help but join in with a laugh of your own.
Makki especially found this confession of yours the funniest, considering he was the only one who knew the person you secretly wished to ‘manhandle’ you.
“I told you to never bring that up again, you idiot!” You groan as you cover your red face, not wanting to see Makki’s teasing eyes and wide smile.
 One of Makki’s most notable traits is his brilliant memory – he never fails to forget the things you thought you told him in confidence, bringing up something you forgot you told him in the first place.
Since he’s been your best friend for so long, you know he truly meant no harm in teasing you. When he remembers the shocked expression that crossed your face just a moment ago, he clutches his aching stomach and wipes the tears that threatened to fall from his fit of laughter.
“I really can’t stand you.”
“That was so good, really. The look on your face was priceless. I wish Suna was over here to capture it.”
You cross your arms over your chest and give him a glare.
“You remember that dare that you never did?”
“Yeah?” You ask hesitantly, afraid of what Makki might say next.
He shoves his hands in the pockets of his trousers while motioning his head towards the group of guys huddled around for cover near the field.  You followed the direction he tilted his head towards, only for them to land on Sakusa Kiyoomi, your year-long crush. You met your best friend’s honeyed-colored eyes with a stony glare, watching as his smirk grew to the cheesiest grin you’d ever seen on his face.
“I think I got a perfect dare for you. I’m redeeming it now.”
“Now?!” You yell in disbelief.
The team turns around to find the source of the noise, and even over the sound of rain, your voice carries over. You can’t help but look for Sakusa amongst everyone, and surely enough, you catch his attention.
Makki stares at you once he realizes the two of you made eye contact with one another. He relishes the faraway look in your eyes as you watch Sakusa fend off a clingy Miya Atsumu. Your best friend watches the fleeting look of admiration that graces your face suddenly morph into one of annoyance as you turn to him again.
“Why now?” You whisper-yell, eyebrows furrowing.
He remains silent and you immediately read his mind. You feel like throwing up and you fidget with the (your house colors) tie that hangs loosely around your neck.
“I can’t, ‘Hiro!”
He shakes his head with a soft smile, reaching to adjust your tie for you once he remembers that you fidget when you’re nervous. A habit that you’ve never been able to break.
“You won’t know until you try.”
Your eyes land on Sakusa once more, mind racing as you thought of all the times you imagined confessing to the brooding Slytherin. Hanamaki pushes you forward, effectively tearing you out of your thoughts, and you stumble forwards.
“Don’t be such a pussy, (Name). It doesn’t suit you.”
Something about those teasing words inspires a spiteful courage inside of you. You whip around, “Y’know what, fine! Fine, ‘Hiro. I’ll do it. ”
“Finally!” He exclaims loudly as you pull up your hood and make your way to Sakusa.
Hanamaki holds his breath as he watches you run to the field and over to the cover where the players are all standing underneath.
You’re soaked and out of breath when you reach the canopy, partly because you’re out of shape and partly because you’re scared half to death to confess to Sakusa Kiyoomi out of all people. None of them notice your figure approaching until you beckon to Sakusa. He points to himself, silently asking for your confirmation that it’s him you want to talk to. You nod as you inhale deeply to compose your nerves; he steps forward out of the group of players that move over to accommodate his large frame, and gestures to move over to the side, behind the large stands – away from prying eyes and eavesdroppers – for a little privacy.
Some of the guys whistle but you ignore them all while standing in the face of Sakusa.
“Hey.” You say as you’re still trying to catch your breath.
“Hi.” He responds, uncomfortable and oddly enough, he might even feel curious as to why you had come over to talk to him.
His curly locks are damp from the rain and he runs a hand down his face because the raindrops trickle down his forehead. He’s stupidly attractive and you hate it. Damn you, Sakusa Kiyoomi.
Sakusa generally feels uncomfortable in the presence of women, but he feels even more so in your presence. He thought he had gotten off easy by establishing a friendly exchange with you, with bringing you tea every other day, he thought that he wouldn’t have to hold a true conversation with you.  But you manage to surprise him yet again; he was shocked to see you approaching the team and even more shocked when his teammates nudged his side, trying to tell him that it was him you were asking for.
Over the time you’d spent admiring Sakusa from afar, you’ve gathered that he isn’t skilled in hiding his true thoughts; you often can decipher his mood by just watching his expression change with the tiniest movements.
He raises his eyebrows ever so slightly as he watches you catch your breath. You know that he’s thinking: ‘What is it?’
“I won’t take up too much of your time-”
“You’re not.” He assures you pointedly. “We’re waiting for the storm to pass anyway.”
You nod in appreciation, grateful that Sakusa (famously known for his cold demeanor) was reassuring you in this nerve-wracking moment. You inhale once more, letting the humid air fill up your lungs, and blow it out with your lips pursed. You’re incredibly nervous and it shows. The realization that you’re about to confess to one of the most coveted guys in Hogwarts is already nauseating, yet you’re more worried about the fact that Makki is knowingly waiting for you to return. You can already see his face: pink eyebrows wiggling and his lips curled up in a devilish grin. Your best friend makes you sick to your stomach and you think that he deserves a smack on the shoulder for putting you up to something so terrifyingly embarrassing as confessing to the Sakusa Kiyoomi.
“This might be ridiculous because–well, we don’t even really know each other.” You start, pulling your robe tighter against your body because you don’t know what to do with your hands. “I think that I might just be curious. Okay, that’s not the right word.”
Sakusa’s curiosity is growing by the second. At this point, he’s even overcoming his uneasiness talking to women solely because of how nervous you are — he might even pity you at this moment. Sakusa really wants to interrupt you and urge you to, ‘spit it out,’ but he has a soft spot for you; so, he stays silent and waits for you to finish.
“Ok.” You shake your head from side to side as you imagine you’re shaking the nerves away. It’s almost endearing. Almost.
“I just came over here to say that I like you, Sakusa Kiyoomi.” You watch as his eyes widen but you push through it. “And I really like the tea you make for me. You make really good tea. I don’t really expect anything, but I wanted to tell you that.”
He’s shocked. Sure, he’s received plenty of confessions from girls before, but he’s never received a confession from a person he’s actually been interested in. Predictably, Sakusa can’t help but let the shock wash over him. His eyes still wide as he takes in the information, and as it processes, he feels like his whole body is on fire. The heat that soon overtakes his body travels up the back of his neck and his cheeks; surely, he’ll accept your confession in a heartbeat. He’s even imagined it. Yet, he stands there in shock as you believe he’s trying to figure out how to let you down easy.
“I-I’m sorry.” You splutter out as the inevitable embarrassment of being rejected by your crush sets in. “Okay, well. Have a good practice or-” You look out to the field and realize that they might not even have practice. At this point, you’re tripping over your words and you just want to escape; you need to escape the shell-shocked expression on Sakusa’s face.  “I’ll see you around, Sakusa.”
He says nothing as you hurriedly walk back to the pavilion where your best friend is waiting for you. He watches as you disappear from around the stands, and he continues to watch your figure get smaller as you walk away. You finally reach the pavilion and grab Makki’s arm to drag him away.
He feels dread fill his heart at the realization that he just blew his chance with you. Sakusa feels like a coward. How could he have messed this up so badly?
When you reached Makki, the grin on his face disappeared almost immediately when he saw the look on your face.
You’re trying your hardest to keep your cool and you’re trying even harder to push down the humiliating fact that you just got rejected like every other girl who has confessed to Sakusa. You’re accepting the fact — in real time — that you’re not any different from them.
“C’mon.” You grumble and that’s all you can manage to say because you don’t trust your voice. You grab the sleeve of Makki’s robe harshly and pull him along with you.
“What happened?”
“I’m a fool.” You mumble under your breath. “I’m so fucking stupid. Why did I ever think that a guy like him would like me back?”
As you drag Makki along, the two of you are speed-walking to reach the doors of the school. In the process, you get soaked even further than you already were. Meanwhile, Makki’s observant eyes are raking over your face for answers; he’s hoping that he can find some while just looking at your side profile.
The rain pours down on top of you and Makki and you finally reach the doors. You swing them open with such force that the back of the door hits the wall.
At this moment, Makki is too afraid to speak up. He feels guilty because it wasn’t for him urging you to do your dare, you would’ve never been upset in the first place. You wouldn’t have gotten rejected because – Makki knows – you would’ve never found the courage to confess to Sakusa. He thought that if he had dared you to confess, that your dream of a reciprocated love would come true. But he was wrong.
“I’m sorry, (Name). But I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what happened.” Makki finally manages to stop you in your tracks as he stopped following you.
Your back is facing him because you don’t want to cry. You know that if you meet your best friend’s concerned filled eyes, that you will definitely break down. There’s also the fear that he won’t get the hint and will tease you about being rejected.
“He said nothing.” You say dryly. “I told him that I liked him and he just stood there.”
He’s silent for a moment before speaking up.
“He doesn’t deserve you.” Is all Makki can come up with.
Does he comfort you? He’s not entirely sure how to do that. Or should he hit you with the truth? Sure. It’s what you deserve. You deserve the truth and Makki believes that there will be no one great enough to deserve you. Not even Sakusa.
“I’m going back to my dorm.” You whisper under your breath and you don’t care if he heard you.
All you want is to take a warm shower and hide in your room. There’s nothing that can save you from the humiliation you suffered except for solitude.
So you do just that. You rush to your dorm and ignore the sounds of the water dripping onto the floor, the noise that your soaked shoes make, and all the stares along the way. You take a shower and let the water run down your back. Then, you crawl into bed and cover yourself up with blankets for the rest of  the day until you fall asleep.
When you wake up the next morning, you contemplate whether or not you’ll visit the library. Will Sakusa be there, sitting in his spot? Will he spare you a pitiful glance once he sees you beeline for your own table? You don’t even want to run through all the possibilities of what could happen because you’ll talk yourself out of going. And you desperately need to go study.
Ultimately, you end up going because you would rather die than lose a day of studying a month before exams.
You walk into the library with your head down, staring at your shoes. You’re terrified that Sakusa’s going to be sitting in that spot, seemingly taunting you with all the ‘could haves.’ Some part of you is afraid that simply seeing him would make you fall into a pit of despair.
He’s not there.
You slump down into your spot with relief, letting your head rest on the back of your chair. You close your eyes, silently thanking whatever higher being for Sakusa not being here at this moment.
But then you hear the sound of approaching footsteps. Your instinct forces you to open your eyes, and like out of your worst nightmare, Sakusa is standing behind you but he’s upside down due to your position.
You feel the bile daring to come up your throat and you want to scream out of frustration and embarrassment.  You sit up and turn around to face him, your hands gripping the back of your chair until they turn white. When you say nothing– because what is there to say? – he starts first.
“Hi.” He says awkwardly. “Can I sit with you for a minute?”
You’re confused and he understands. Sakusa isn’t sure how he managed to ruin something so fast yesterday. He’s convinced that everything he touches – he ruins.
 He waits for your response and you nod hesitantly, rotating your body as he walks to sit in the chair across from you. When your eyes meet his dark ones, you think that he is avoiding your gaze like he’s nervous. He’s wearing his mask and he unexpectedly wraps his fingers around the string hanging behind his ears, pulling his mask down to show his face to you.
When Sakusa watched you leave yesterday, Atsumu emerged from around the back of the stands where he was crouching behind to listen to your confession. He yelled, “You idiot ‘Omi!” and proceeded to scold Sakusa for being so cold.
Sakusa definitely got an earful from Atsumu, but it brought him back to reality. He knew that he had to fix things with you, even though he’s not used to repairing any damaged relationship in his life; something in him wanted to give this a try.
He knew that he didn’t want to apologize right away in fear that you'd run off. He’d even rehearsed ways in which he’d ask you, but only because Atsumu made him practice – Atsumu knows that he’s not the best with words, but Sakusa is even more inept.
“Would you like to go to this cafe with me?” He asked painfully, averting his eyes to the side because he wasn’t sure he’d be able to ask if he was looking at your face. “I heard that the tea is good there–the flavor that you like.”
Your heart dropped at the question. Is this a pity invite or a cruel joke? No, you deduce, Sakusa wouldn’t be one to take part in such cruel jokes.
“I don’t want you to take me somewhere because you feel like you have to.”
“I want to.” And his attention returns to you. Under his gaze, you feel small, yet you somehow believe him – believe that he’s being genuine.
 Is a guy like Sakusa, who is so full of doubt and animosity towards strangers, capable of forming a connection with someone like you?
“Okay.” You nod for yourself while wiping your clammy hands on the material of your skirt. “I’ll go.”
You see his shoulders drop and you realize he’s relieved. You smile unknowingly and he catches a glimpse of your fleeting expression.
“Let’s go.” He says as he gets up, pulling his mask back over his nose and mouth while simultaneously collecting his things.
“Let’s go?” You repeat in confusion.
“Yeah,” Sakusa verifies as he stands by your seat, unintentionally towering over you. “I have to make it up to you.” He mumbles, almost incoherently, behind his mask.
You wordlessly listen to him, packing up your textbooks and other materials to stuff them all into your bag. As you do so, you’re trying to get over the rapid pounding of your heart.
“And you can call me Kiyoomi.”

An HL December 🎄 Challenge
Tumblr media
Kinda 2nd guessed myself in doing this December challenge 'cuz i feel like i'd be busy adjusting to moving countries and learning the culture and language here, BUT will definitely feel lonely without interacting as much as i can with the HL fandom, so cheers! 🎉
December 1st! ❄️
And since it's been obvious Beatrice is my main girl with the other MCs/OC i've made here from the last October Challenge, i've actually just now FINALLY started my Gryffindor walkthrough with my baby boi cub MC! 🦁 (tho i've yet to have time to set up my console in my new space to get some proper screenshots of him 🥲)
But he goes by Liam Kyteler (an interesting surname if you look up irl Alice Kyteler), who just so happens to have red hair and green eyes (nah, he's not a Weasley), although he may end up having ties to Godric Gryffindor. 😉
Also got a Slytherin male MC lined up after, which really just popped up as an inspiring love interest to Natty. He'll go by Ehsan Kama, who i thought him to be a younger brother to Mustafa Kama (yah watched Fantastic Beasts?)
That's that and thanks so much for coming to my HL MC creation rambling (sorry for the lack of photos! 🥹)

Liquid Courage in a Song
Warnings: Alcohol and Fluff
Pairing: Ominis Gaunt x OC
Inspired by this post by @cursedonyx and several conversations about Ominis with @caramel-hufflepuff
Ava didn’t normally do parties. She preferred to cuddle up with her cat under a blanket on one of the comfortable chairs spread around the Hufflepuff Common Room, a good book in her hands. So, the idea of being around a lot of people in a loud environment made her chest tighten with anxiety. But one of her best friends, Natty Onai, had convinced her over the past week that she should come to the next party, using phrases such as “We’re in our Seventh Year and you should experience at least one Hogwarts party” and “With all the stress you’re under, you need to learn to let loose and have a little fun now and then.” But what had finally convinced her was when Ominis Gaunt had asked if she would be attending. She had never been able to say no to him, whether it was helping him in Potions or giving him the last éclair from the Hufflepuff dining table.
That was how she ended up standing near the windows of the Slytherin Common Room, watching as several of her classmates lost their senses to alcohol. Amit Thakkar and Andrew Larson were deep in debate about the best telescope model, and she had already witnessed someone kick Duncan Hobhouse out when he had been unable to hold his liquor and thrown up in one of the decorative plants.
Sebastian Sallow and Leander Prewett were once again in some ongoing competition to prove each was better than the other. She’d seen their competitiveness every day over the past seven years and it definitely added some liveliness to life at Hogwarts. She was pretty sure they had made a bet on who out of the two of them would get the first kiss of the night. Initially, her money had been on Sebastian, as he was generally the more charismatic of the two. But then she noticed how alcohol seemed to diminish Leander’s usual arrogance and make him more charming. She giggled at their antics and was genuinely curious to see who would win, as long they both left her alone. She had no wish to get involved in their bets, which was one reason why she stuck to the perimeter of the room.
Taking a sip of her drink, she had to admit that Garreth Weasley had done a good job at creating the alcoholic beverages, despite his usual less-than-pleasant results when he would experiment with potions. Maybe he had asked Sirona, the owner of the Three Broomsticks, for some help developing the drinks for the party in an effort to impress someone. Her guess was her friend, Poppy Sweeting, because she had definitely noticed his eyes lingering on her quite a lot recently. Unfortunately for him, Poppy had declined to come to the party in favor of spending time with a new batch of creatures that Professor Howin had brought in for their NEWT lessons.
At the thought of crushes, Ava’s eyes wandered around the room as she searched for Ominis. She had seen him when she and Natty had first arrived, but she hadn’t had a chance to say hello to him since Natty had insisted on dragging her around the room with her. Now that Natty was otherwise occupied with Imelda Reyes in some corner of the room, Ava was free to talk to whoever she liked. However, the person she most wanted to talk to was nowhere to be found and the unpleasant thought had crossed her mind that he had already found someone to slip off to a hidden area with. She let out an annoyed noise at herself for being so pathetic over him and bent down to gently scratch the neck of a cat who had wandered over to say hello.
“There you are,” came the smooth baritone of Ominis’ voice, appearing at her side as though summoned by her thoughts.
She jumped, having thought she was completely alone in her spot by the windows. Then his words registered, and her pulse picked up its pace. “You… you were looking for me?”
“Of course I was, beautiful,” Ominis replied smoothly, his flirtatious tone catching Ava off guard. She was used to his usual calm and sweet manner, so this change to his personality, along with the compliment, sent her head reeling. She noticed his cheeks had a pink hue to them, probably the result of alcohol. “This is the first party you’ve ever come to, and I’ve been desirous of your company for quite some time.”
“Y-you have?” Ava asked, absolutely hating how bashful she sounded next to his smooth-tongued elegance, but unable to think clearly when he was causing her brain to short-circuit.
“Of course, darling,” he replied smoothly, his voice like honey. He stepped closer and smiled softly down at her. “Only an idiot would want to pass up time with you.”
Warmth rushed through her at his words, and she fidgeted with the cup in her hands. She wished she could be charming or eloquent, as she had witnessed other girls acting in a similar situation, but her brain was too busy fixating on the meaning behind his words. “I wasn’t aware you felt that way,” she finally got out, hoping the pause before her answer had not been too long.
Ominis chuckled and smiled down at her in a secretive manner, his unseeing eyes trying to focus on her exact location. “There are plenty of things I have not made you aware of, but I would very much like to.”
“Like what?” Ava did her best to focus on keeping her breathing calm, knowing even the slightest change would let him know how he was affecting her.
He tsked at her. “Not so fast, darling. I’ll get to telling you… in my own time.” His grin widened and he reached out his arm, inviting her to take it. After a moment of hesitation, she did, and he tucked her forearm against his body, which brought her in closer. His warmth and scent instantly overwhelmed her and made it harder for her to think straight. She nervously took a sip of her drink to cover the disorderly nature of her thoughts as he led her away from her seclusion and back into the fray.
Sebastian immediately approached them, a wide grin on his face. “Have you found me a willing participant?” he asked, slapping Ominis congenially on the shoulder.
Ominis rolled his eyes at his best friend. “This one is spoken for,” he replied officiously. “Go find someone else to charm.”
Sebastian grumbled for a second, before his alcohol-clouded eyes focused on Ava, finally acknowledging her. He shot Ominis a playful grin. “My bad, mate. I didn’t realize who you had with you.” He leaned in towards Ava to drunkenly whisper, “Take care of my friend” before sauntering off towards the next unsuspecting female.
Ava stood still, trying to process their exchange. It was interesting to her how quickly Sebastian had backed off when he had realized that it was Ava with Ominis and not some other girl. “What was that about?” she asked, glancing up at Ominis.
“In due time, darling,” he said and flashed her another secretive smile.
“If you say so,” she replied slowly, a thrill running through her. His liberal use of “darling” towards her didn’t go unnoticed or unfelt. If he kept calling her that, she would let him get away with anything, including the myriad of secrets he was apparently keeping from her.
“I promise it will all be worth it.” His voice was smooth as he continued to steer her through the crowd. “But first, I have a gift for you.”
She was shocked at the thought that he had something for her. While they had always been on friendly terms and had even exchanged Christmas and birthday presents over the past several years, he had never seemed the type to give out presents “just because.”
They made their way to the other side of the crowd and then continued on towards the section of the common room closer to the dormitories, which was currently unoccupied but had several chairs and couches, along with a grand piano. They passed several nooks occupied with couples fully absorbed in one another and Ava’s breath hitched in her throat, wondering if his intention was to lead her somewhere private and have his way with her. She was caught off-guard when they stopped at the piano.
“You once mentioned how much you love music,” he began, his demeanor suddenly less confident. “So, I wrote a song for you. I… I hope I’m not being presumptuous.”
A gasp left Ava’s lips at his words. “You wrote a song? For me?”
Ominis sat on the piano bench and fidgeted with the keys nervously. “Is that alright?”
“It’s more than alright. I just… no one has ever done anything like this for me.”
A brilliant smile lit up Ominis’ face. “Then let me be the first… and perhaps the only.” His words seemed to hold a promise, although Ava could not even begin to grasp the meaning. He patted the spot on the bench next to him. “Please, join me.”
“I wouldn’t be in your way?”
“Never.” When he replied, his voice was soft and his silver eyes rested unwaveringly on her.
Taking a deep breath, she sat next to him on the bench and flushed with pleasure when he scooted even closer to her, his side pressed up against hers. He immediately began to play a beautiful melody which tugged at her heartstrings. Then his voice joined along, and her breath caught in her throat at the beauty of it.
“Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin. Dance me through the panic while I’m gathered safely in. Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove. Dance me to the end of love. Dance me to the end of love.”
He continued singing and she felt herself absorbing every single lyric that came out of his mouth. The song went on for what felt like forever yet was over in no time at all. The last note seemed to hang in the air and Ava found that she was afraid to breathe too loudly and break the spell, but she also knew he was probably waiting for her reaction.
“That was the most beautiful song I have ever heard,” she finally replied, her voice soft.
“I’m glad you liked it.” He smiled softly at her, but his body language spoke of his nervousness.
“You… you said you wrote this? For me?” Her head was spinning at the implications. The song had talked of a life full of love, of two people building and spending their lives together.
“I did. I… I hope I’m not being too forward, but I wasn’t sure how else to communicate my feelings for you.”
“Your feelings…” Ava breathed, the full ramifications of his words finally registering in her brain. “You want to be with me?” She was still reeling in shock that the man she had been crushing on for years returned her feelings.
Ominis gently took her hands in his. “Forever, if you’ll let me,” he answered softly, rubbing his thumbs over the backs of her hands.
Joy rushed through her body, and she brought his hands up to her lips to place a kiss on the back of each. “I would love nothing more.”
Ominis’ face lit up with delight. “Do you truly mean it? You’ll be mine?” His voice was full of hope and he pulled his hands from hers to gently cup her cheeks.
“Yes,” she replied as happy tears softly fell down her cheeks. “A thousand times yes.”
Without another word, Ominis leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers, pure happiness filling his entire being. For the first time in his memory, he felt whole.

Angleyes
Sirius Black x Reader
Inspired by song "Angeleyes" by Abba
While recovering from a breakup, you look back at your time with Sirius Black, all while realizing an undeniable truth.
Warning: Mentions of Adult Activities, angst
The Greeks believed that the stars, galaxies, the constellations were created by the gods.
For reference, the placing of Callisto.
The beautiful, loyal, and favored hunter of Artimes. But it seems that loyalty only got you so far with the gods. She was soon turned into a bear by her goddess due to the birth of a child caused by an assult by Zeus. Years later, the same child would come upon her bear form and attempt to kill it. Zeus would see these events unfold and take "mercy" upon the two. He would place them in the sky so they would never be separated again.
Another, Andromeda. She was the fair wife to Perseus, the slayer of Medusa. Although their meet cute probably wasn't as romantic as she was hoping it would be. He found her chained to a rock by her own people as a sacrifice to Poseidon's monster. He would slay it, and they would soom have a whopping six children. Athena would later place her in the sky as a way for people to remember her for all of eternity.
The brightest in the sky though, at least in your eyes was Orion's dog, the Star of Sirius.
And a dog he was.
~~~~~~~
You'd spend the better half of 2 weeks moping in your bed. Although you would never say that aloud because then that would mean he won. It would mean that he had been able to wiggle his way into your heart like a parasite. It would mean that without his touch on your hand, your shoulder, your lips, your legs, you were lost. That you were had loved him.
So you blamed your absence on painful, the worst you-ever-experienced, period cramps. Although that could only work for so long, even if none of your peers didn't really believe it in the first place. So, it didn't take long for your scar covered friend to come barging in.
"You know, it's considered rude in most of the world to come in without a heads up," you grumbled, not having to look up to see who it was, the scent of chocolate reaching your nose, "What if I was naked?"
"Then what a site it would have been," Remus replied sarcastically, "It's time to get out of this room, love."
"See, I would love to Rem, but my cramps are just killing me," you grasp your stomach in mock pain.
"Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think menstrual periods, or at least yours, last twelve days."
You gasp, "then it must be menopause," you fall back onto your bed sinking into the warm sheets. "Oh, I should have seen the signs, the gray hair, the wrinkles... oh Rem! Do you think this spot is cancerous?" You both fall into laughter, and you realize this is the first time you smiled since the incident. Remus plops onto the space beside you with a smile still spread on his features, your shoulders touching.
There was a comfortable silence, hearing the laughter of students, stories down from your window. The window he once climed through after almost killing himself scaling the outside wall of the castle. You cleaned the material out of his hair and kissed his wounds better that night, your heart glowing that although a stupid action was directed so he could get to you. You shoke the memory from your brain, opting to turn the boy beside you.
"How do you even get in here?"
"I'll give you three guesses"
"Why didn't they just talk to me themselves?" you ask, thinking of your roommates/best friends
"Well, I don't know if you realize this, but you are quite argumentative... and a little bit scary. I'm surprised you weren't sorted into Slytherin."
"So you were thrown into the lion cage," he lets out a breathy chuckle.
"Well, I've been told I can be quite stubborn. I am the one who pulls the boys out of their beds." The smile slipped off your face, and you could feel the gaping pit in your stomach return. Remus immediately realized his mistake and felt his heart break a little at your dimming eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean t-,"
"No, you're okay, it's fine. I'm fine." You gave him a tight lip smile even though you both know he could look right through it.
There is another pregnant pause. You were happy that Remus came to check up on you. Though friends before, you cheating off his work and him being graced by your impeccable charm, he was one of Sirius's closest mates. And you wouldn't have been surprised if he stopped talking to you. You couldn't say that wouldn't have stun, though.
"I just really don't want to see him. I don't know what I'll do if I do."
"It'll be okay," he said, bringing you closer to his chest, "it'll be okay."
You let yourself relax in his grasp. Though you knew it was wrong, you couldn't help but picture yourself in someone else's arms.
"I'll let you have some of my chocolate if you come in to walk with me."
"Deal."
~~~~~~~
And that's how you ended up here. Walking among the land of the living again, trying to ignore the whispers and stares, all while looking out for a pierced boy. You thought you saw his back at one point, but it was just his younger brother Regulas, who when he turned around and saw you, give you a polite nod.
Talking with Remus was nothing but a pleasure, catching you up on the gossip you had missed and adding his own commentary. It seemed nothing would be able to dampen your mood until you felt the thundercloads roll over again.
You had been walking down the shore of the lake when you saw the tree. The tree where you and him had shared countless laughs, deep conversations, (most of which talked of your future together) kisses, and intimate touches. Where you shared stories of your day, read to one another, and even a few nights of love making.
But your favorite pastime with Sirius, besides the sex, was the star gazing. You would lay out on the ground, his warm leather jacket the only protection from the prickly grass, and Sirius would rest his head on your chest. Then begin your game. Sirius would point to a light in the sky and say its name, although most you already knew, then you would tell the stories and mythology behind that star. As you looked up at the galaxy, you could imagine that you were somewhere else in time, somewhere without the threat of an impending war, maybe a peaceful farm with geese roaming around.
There were more than a few times that you and the boy would have to sneak back into the castle, being woken from your slumber by the streaks of dawn flooding the sky.
But that sacrade tree was not without company. There leaning on the stump was Sirius. But what really cemented the dagger into your heart was the girl curled into his chest reading aloud the lines of a book.
Remus followed your line of sight and quickly turned you away, starting to chatter on about dinner.
But it was too late, you already felt a shiver go down your spine despite the heat. The look he was giving her was one that you were plenty familiar with. A look of awe, admiration, maybe even love. A look that used to be able to stop you in your tracks and make your heart mush still had the same effect, only befriended with a sour emotion.
You recognized the girl, believing she was in the year younger than yours. She was also the one he said not to worry about.
As you began walking away from the scene, you couldn't help but compare it to a car accident. Wanting to look but knowing as soon as you see the damage you wouldn't be able to unsee it. But another thought lingered in your mind. The urge to walk right up to the couple, to the girl, and warn her. Warn her that she was just a pawn in a game he likes to play; fun to play with but easily expandable.
But you could tell it was too late for her. Having already looked into his eyes, being put in a hypnotic state of adoration. A parallel to your own experience.
~~~~~~~
The first time you were really captivated with Sirius was when you really took a look into his eyes. Having known of each other, you never began talking until you were partnered in Charms class. It's said that eyes are a window to the soul, and as disgusting as it sounds, you could see your whole future in them. They were hypnotic and put you in a trance like state of borderline obsession.
Angeleyes were the only way to describe them.
With Sirius Black, every day felt like paradise. He was everything one would ever need in a boyfriend. He was doting and wasn't afraid to show it. Blowing kisses at Quddich games, buying expensive gifts, and even creative once in a lifetime dates.
Every day was an adventure. For your half-year anniversary, Sirius had managed to bag front row tickets to see Bowie. You and him danced under the stars that night, the euphonious voice of the Starman himself filling your ears like honey. That night was filled with tipsy lovemaking and a warm shower to wash the colorful makeup off your faces.
Everything was perfect...
Until it wasn't.
You had heard the rumors of his past, you would have to be living under a rock to not have. Of breaking hearts left and right. It didn't matter who you were, how you acted, Sirius Black would break your heart.
But when you hit your two month mark of dating, you thought you were different. How unfortunately and totally wrong you were.
He was getting distant by the nine month mark. Although you knew what was to come, you tried to hold it off as best you could. He began acting weirder. Trying to distance himself from you in public, keeping touches to minimim. He would partner with his friends on projects, when before his eyes would quickly find yours when a group project was mentioned. Then, when you were in private, he was back to his old loving self, the Sirius you feel in love with.
He broke up with you in public. In the Great Hall. In the middle of dinner. In. front. of. everyone. The room became silent, something that never happened, as they watched the Heartbreak Prince collect another broken heart. You tried to maintain your dignity and not let your tears fall as you moved to the opposite side of the table from him, your friends following. It wasn't until you got to the dorm that night that you broke down in Mary's arms, the mutters of Lily and Marlene's threats to kill him accompanying your broken sobs.
You were right about his angeleyes. Though his love and innocence was just a wear of disguse, underneath it all, he still was an angel, but rather to add, a fallen angel. A man who plays the game and continues to collect hearts as his victims pay the price.
But sometimes at night, in the dark of the dormitory, or you're feeling extra lonely, you like to imagine he's lying next to you, stunning eyes still trained on you. You believe that will forever be the price you pay for falling in love with the boy.
Or in the halls, as you walk by the Gryfindor as if he's a stranger, the pain that you had managed to wear away had all come back like a flood of cold water. It still hurt to even think about your time together, a time you never thought you could life without him. A part of you couldn't, and that part died the day he broke your heart, a part you will never get back. But as time goes on, you know you'll get stronger and one day break free of his spell.
As Sirius struts the hallway with a new student every week, you stare down his new prey, hoping they get your warning.
Don't look too deep into his angeleyes.
i’m also loving kinktober!! i have notifs on for all the different creators that are participating and i’ve been devouring the content fr. sometimes i get so focused on making sure that i rb every creator that i forget to interact in other ways? but i’ve always been a lurker on tumblr anyway, so i’m still trying to break those habits 😵‍💫 this website is my safe place and i know how interactions work here but there’s something that’s just so embarrassing about me doing it? like it’s only embarrassing when i try to do it, if that makes sense
anyway maybe it’s just me, but i feel like not a lot of acotar blogs are participating this year? i think two or three of my go-to writers are doing it (including you). do you have any recs or accounts that i can check out, kinktober or otherwise?
It’s all good! I def resonate with being a lurker, and I want to interact more but it’s annoying that I can’t respond from this account separate from my main, I guess that was my mistake when I started this side blog! Tumblr needs to fix that rlly fast cuz I’d be up in everyone’s business 😂
I totally get what ur saying tho 😂 I appreciate the anon message tbh
OKAY SO if you haven’t read @acourtofwhatthefuck ‘s Practice on Me series literally drop what you’re doing rn and read it because I’m so obsessed with it at the moment! And also anything she writes is literally god-tier 💙
@writingsbychlo always fucking smacks, she in her slytherin era atm and we love her for that so she has both acotar and a new fic about some slytherin boy but I can’t remember off the top of my head I think Theo?
@oliviajdjarin is one of my fav writers too, she is legit the inspiration and why I started writing and posting acotar fic 💙
I have a list of other acotar x reader writers that DESPERATELY needs updating
Also yeah good question, who is doing kinktober this year I must know 👀
Thank you!
1000+ followers!
As I post this I have exactly 1003 followers and they’re amazing!
I was planning on doing something for 100, 200, 500 followers, but I was always so busy writing or didn’t know what to do or just scared of looking like a fool… sorry! But now it’s time to celebrate!
I love you! Dear tumblr people, I truly love you. Whether you’re creating, supporting or both… you mean the world to me.
Now let’s get down to business. I have three things planned for you lovelys… I hope you’ll like it
Tumblr media
Scare an introvert
Me, I’m the introvert. Scare me and talk to me. Honestly, I like communicating from time to time, but let’s just say small talk is not my most developed skill.
If you’re a social butterfly or a curious kitten and you want to get to know the writer behind the fics, this is your moment!
🥰 📚 📖 😍 🤗 🫦 👁️ 😶 🧑‍🍳 👩‍🎓 💃🏻 🤷‍♀️ 🤦 💆🏽‍♀️🐶 🐍 🦩 🍀 🫐 🫖 🧩 🏄‍♂️ ☎️ 🪫 🎉 ☺️ 🤯 😎
Pick any emoji you can find on your phone and I’ll answer a question related to the emoji. Or be very random.
BUT if you would be so kind as to also tell me a little something about yourself, it can be as random as you want… Or share your thoughts on my blog. This way I can get to know you a little as well.
Requests are officially open
Requests were always unofficially open to the bold and the brave, but now they’re open to everyone!
Also big thank you to the ones who’ve already sent in requests, encouraging me to write and now even to open up to more requests. Kiss!
Throw in any guy you can think of, but preferably a Slytherin dude.
Combine it with any subject or even a random word if you want something short.
And I’ll try to write something and hopefully not disappoint you.
Rules? Don’t traumatise me but also don’t be shy. Worst case scenario I change your request until I can live with it. I’ve been scrolling tumblr for a decade now, I don’t judge.
Get a cameo!!
I’m looking for people to date one of the Slytherins in my next fics. So you or your OC can get a little cameo!
How it works? While the reader is still the main character, I need characters in the background dating Theodore, Mattheo, Blaise, Enzo, Draco or Pansy. Depending on the story, you’ll be mentioned a lot or just a few times. You’ll be dating your favoriete Slytherin either recently or you’ve been in a long term relationship.
Interested? Okay, I need a name. I’m not good at coming up with names and this is what inspired me to do this cameo stuff. Also sent me your house and yes you can be an exchange student if you don’t want to attend Hogwarts. Pronouns! Very important, don’t leave me guessing. Skin, eye and hair colour is not a must, but why not. Just for the fun of it, you can add what kind of student, friend or partner you’ll be. If you insist you can be a crazy ex as well. But most importantly, who do you want to date.
I might not need this much information, but it’s fun to get to know you. If you’re not an anon and don’t want to be mentioned when I post the fic then be sure to let me know so I don’t tag you.
Aaaaand a little bonus news:
Didn’t see this one coming at all…
25 000 ? That’s a lot of love! Thank you! Thank you so much!
When I’m writing and I feel like I’m stuck, my eyes wonder and usually land on my phone which is thanks to you always lighting up with tumblr notifications… encouraging me to continue writing!
Tumblr media
Have a lovely day!
Sending you all lots of love!
