I love Beauyasha so much. I miss them so much.
The reunion gave me so much joy and now I'm in this weird happy but melancholy state. I love the Nein so much and I want more of them. And I especially want more of Beau and Yasha. If we get a Fjorester wedding one shot, I will be stoked. But then also give me the Beauyasha wedding too!
I'm really just hoping they keep doing these little reunions cause I love the Mighty Nein so much and seeing them makes me so happy.

trying not to get disproportionately hyped but yesterday's horizons episode made me lose my mind to such a degree that I feel as though the next episode is gonna be like.. life-changing for me I fear.
#vi rambling#pokemon#i have so many thoughts and i cant articulate ANY OF THEM.#im just. so pleased. with the writing in this show. and so pleased with the direction theyre taking amethio. hes my character ever.#everything is so intriguing and has such a good build-up... idk IDK IT HAS ME SO EXCITED AND HAPPY.#seeing new things and older things click into place like this. the catharsis of liko and amethio facing off again and#being the first 2 major characters to interact in the series and being the lead narrative foils finally face off again and INTERACT again#is so incredibly rewarding.#spinel is such a fascinating antagonist to me theres so much to unpack with his relationship with umbreon and the organization as a whole#liko's emotional state was also really well executed i felt. amethio being so SHARP when it comes to spinels entire deal was also#a great aspect showing both his intellect and his being privy to information we arent and thus leaning into the mystery aspects#ARHHRGRGGGGH IM SOOOOO. i need it to be friday again im going a little insane.#also the rakurium being pink ... terapagos and likos colorschemes being turquoise.... opposing colors and in their middle....#is purple.... I WONDER.... WHO THE BRIDGING CHARACTER WILL BE..... GEHEUEHURGE#im just. so excited to see his arc unfold. and well... i hope their interactions ends on a more ambivalent note... things shifting a bit#when it comes to their perceptions of the other side ever so slightly.... ghfurhuhru#ok. im done i think.

ok, so in more than blood, there's luke, leia, cal, boba pops in and out, a certain someone will temporarily bunk with the crew for long enough to get returned to their family, i've written a bit for ANOTHER character who joins up but doesn't swear the resol'nare, and i just now had a BIGBRAIN idea that will make the crew feel more balanced and add some compelling conflict. that said, i genuinely do NOT know how i'm gonna fit five permanent residents plus obi-wan and cody for a total of seven, AND two temporary residents (boba and the other character). also, the bigbrain idea i had would require me to engage with a mid piece of media that i have zero interest in besides this one character in order to get a grasp of their motivations, even if i'll greatly alter the direction their life takes as an adult.
truly idk how many fuckin traumatized children i can fit on this goddamned ship and it's beginning to feel crowded and like i'll be juggling far too many characters to do them all justice. luke, leia, and cal are non-negotiable crew members, and i'm leaning towards the character i just had a breakthrough about becoming a permanent fixture. boba is like an honorary member i think at this point, bc he's quite independent, and the temporary member will only appear briefly, but the one who doesn't swear the resol'nare i'm beginning to think i should leave to their canon storyline to avoid character overload, and perhaps switch the concept of them not swearing the tenants to the new character that i'm really considering bc i think the decision to not convert could thematically fit either of them.
i am AWARE this is vague as hell bc i don't want anyone to get their hopes up about certain characters appearing and then just not doing that. the more i think it through via writing this post, the more i'm leaning towards removing that one character i originally had not swearing the tenants bc dear god it's getting comedic how many strays the tanos are acquiring at this point 💀 four feels more manageable than five, especially bc luke and leia aren't even talking during this fic even tho i do try and give them some personality. so, two young characters and the main pairing feels doable, i guess? i'm feeling less overwhelmed now that i've typed this up but still a bit clownish when considering how ambitious this stupid fic is 😭

#overall i'm REALLY happy#but the bigeneration was a bad move and unless they come back to that and have 14 regenerate properly and/or fuse back into 15 i'm like#never gonna be happy abt that aspect#it's also just a bad LOOK. ur first (main timeline) black dr and ur just... gonna make his first scene all about the previous dr?#when the previous dr's actor has already had not one but TWO initial just-regenerated scenes??#like... why would you do that#the regeneration scene up TO the regeneration is for the outgoing dr#everything AFTER the regeneration should be all about the INCOMING dr. it's their introduction! it's a BIG DEAL!#and absolutely none of that was about gatwa's dr ALL of the emotional focus was on tennant's dr#not to say gatwa didn't shine! absolutely he did! but the scene wasnt about him. it was entirely abt tennant dr's emotional & narrative arc#AND. even that aside. it's just stupid to have 2 drs and 2 tardises#and it's ABSURD to just keep cloning the dr as a form of emotional resolution. rtd has done it TWICE now. what are they a LIZARD#if you want the dr in 2 places at once theres an easy mechanic for that. its a show about time travel. the solution is obvious#and also like. one of the central themes of the show is change & renewal what the FUCK are u doing. thats NOT change OR renewal#anyway uh. to conclude. bigeneration bad#HOWEVER. gatwa and tennant together in those scenes. INCREDIBLY good#it isnt the end result i dislike it's the method#also i am very excited for gatwa i love his dr so much already#dw spoilers#dr who

#uh oh! pjo tv series opinions incominf#ive only seen up to ep 4 so far#but its interesting! theyre making a lot of character choices that i really love#grover underwood <3 my boy#his frienship w percy feels solid and real#annabeth!!! oml. and her devotion to athena and the way that relationship becomes more and more complicated as time goes on! chefs kiss#my only thing is that#and maybe this is bc ive read the books and i generally know the story#but its sort of boring???????? not like its bad necessarily or poorly done exactllyyyy#but theres a lot of scenes of them just sort of straight up explaining whats happening or the plot or how the gods feel#which to be fair. that also happens in the book and is kind of exactly how percy learns all the shit#so it feels a little tell > show atm#but its also a lot of worldbuilding info to get thru and possibly introduce the basics of greek mythology to new people#so obviously thats a lot#i wonder if ill feel the same after this first season finishes and if they will allow for more#time to focus on the encounters the kids have#cause i know who is coming up soon and im excited to see that#and i thought they did the medusa arc so well like oof wow!

Dev Log #4: Title Screen Tests
Today is the title Mock-Up! I'm satisfied with the logo and menu style, but I haven't even started the art for the background yet-therefore, I'm using concept art for FFXIV as a stand in, since the picture I'm using for the title screen will be similar. This one is a little long, so it's going under a read more.
The prologue takes place in a country decently far from Tovera-or rather, the country is USUALLY decently far from Tovera ;]
The country is tropical, and is analogous to a pre-colonial Hawaii and Aotearoa...for the most part. When the story starts, the country, Keona, is a huge tourist attraction for the rich across the globe, as well as random tourists-on top of this, the royal family struggles to use the country's resources to their advantage while not becoming a puppet state to bigger powers. So the problems faced by the people there are still similar to what the Maoli of Hawaii face-it's just that the people and state are a little more...autonomous, I suppose. For how long though, I can't be too sure.
Why am I sharing this? Well, I keep this stuff in mind as I brainstorm title screen BGs. I was thinking of a starry tropical forest, with the spirits of the land hiding between the trees and bushes...or an open plain in the middle of a mountain range, with our somber yet hopeful protagonist looking at the sky above. Or, I could be lazy and just use the cover for the novel-turned-comic-turned VN...but the art is already SUPER outdated, and I'd like to redraw it if I do use it.
And, while this may be more work for the sake of more work, I'd like for the screen to change as you progress through the story-which means I'll have to draft a FEW title screens, actually-but I don't mind it, since if I go the landscape option, it'll be fun and relaxing to draw.
Of course, keeping the theme on point, I want to keep the art's color scheme/palette blue and yellow.
This is getting long, so I'll end it here. Next update, we're drafting the title screen BGs...so next update might be next week, late, since I'm trying to finish a commission I made for my ma AND school starts next Monday. Kill me.

I'd rather draw even BGs if I can help it#so MAYBE January. Maybe. I'll have to see!

I kind of hated the last tournament in kengan omega on the whole just because the ryuki and setsuna situation didn’t pay off the way I dreamed of (and saw paing got knocked out in round two. boo) but I have to admit lihito beating koga in less than a chapter in the final round IS the funniest possible outcome. the writers got bored too I guess
