welcome to nightvale still fucking sucks btw

if you forgot about the apache tracker storyline or think it came from a position of well intentions, this is your reminder that when the creators were approached about it by real native ppl (not white ones magically turned into natives), one of them had a white boy temper tantrum on twitter, completely shut down the conversation, never apologized or addressed it again, and did nothing to dissuade other white ppl from wearing super inappropriate apache tracker “cosplay” to in person events in the form of headdresses lol

#posting this cuz uhhh #i guess it is/was the anniversary recently #and i've seen some ppl i rly like on my dash posting nightvale shit #so if i unfollowed #that's why #like oof i try not to get serious on this silly lil blog of mine #but i was very close to the issue when it went down #(i was the one who asked ppl to email the creators abt the storyline)#(and when his dismissive response to one of those emails was posted to tumblr was when he had his twitter fit)#(and i was subsequently mobbed by racist nightvale fans)#(for like years after every time my post gained any traction again)#(it was honestly part of why i abandoned my old blog)#so i have zero love for this property its creators or its fanbase tbh
