haha finally debuting my magical girl marvels au! i was thinking of a manga cover while making this; i really wanted it to have a kinda hyperpop and sailor moon style.
So! In my version of this AU, the Marvels travel through different dimensions to fight the forces of evil to balance the multiversal scale! They do this, via train! The train is usually a subway, but it magically adapts to the dimensions they are in. (Ex. Submarine Looking Train for a mainly water dimension, an old style train for a dimension with a earlier timeline.)
Billy Batson is a Train Conductor! I based his outfit on those train conductor uniforms and I really like it. His main base powers are, of course, lighting, and the ability to make portals! He uses the portals in his fighting style, dodging with portals instead of blocking attacks. Billy can only teleport to a mirror dimension without the aid of the train, so he actually teleports to the mirror dimension in fights when he dodges, then portals back to the og dimension. The train boosts his powers so his ability to travel to the mirror dimension is enhanced, and he can travel to other dimensions when using the train. (Other then that, its a basic portal power lol)
Mary’s design was inspired by fairy tale princes, which is actually really random but I made it work. I wanted the three of them to be different genres of magical girls, but still fit look like they are in the same style. Her base powers in this AU is basically charisma (yes, literal charms), and lightning. So, her charisma powers are pretty much just that people will be more inclined to do things her way; she lets off an aura of power + confidence that no one can say no to (besides Billy and Freddy, they are immune). She also will look extremely intimidating to people when she wants to. So in a nutshell, her power is to change the way people perceive her, and use that to her advantage. Mary often uses this to do undercover work, or info gathering about the dimension they are in.
Freddy, is a mermaid based magical girl. He can shift between having a mermaid tail and his legs. His base powers are hydrokinesis (ability to control water) and (can you guess it?) lightning! Though not shown here, Freddy actually uses water to float himself around. The water is thinly covered over his body and he uses that to get around without his crutches. He learned how to do this after seeing how he can float in the water when swimming. Freddy doesn’t do this all the time because it requires a lot of control and it can tire himself out. He used to do it all the time, but once in a battle, he shifted all his focus into the fight and lost control of the water that makes him float. Freddy learnt to not completely rely on his powers all the time after that. I’ll go more into this specific event later bc I think this scenario would really impact how Freddy sees his disability, and how he learns to accept it. I imagine this Freddy is more recently disabled and that he still has bitter feelings about it. The thing with Freddy’s dad in the boat still happened (they got attacked by one of Billy’s enemies), and that’s when he got his leg injury. He met Billy that way and got his powers. (Basically just how CM3 got his powers.. idk why im explaining it)
The thing is that I, myself, am not disabled so I need a bit of help understanding what that would be like to accurately write Freddy’s struggles with his disability. 😭
Another thing is that I’m not sure what their hero names would be? I tried doing those precure names like ‘Cure Marvel!’ but that would only work for one of them and I would still need names. Marvel *insert something here* or *something* Marvel is an idea but I wouldn’t know what to put.

"Sit down," the hero said. They doubted the villain could hear them with this absolutely diabolical beat banging in both their ears. So, they pushed the villain's chest until their nemesis was falling into the armchair and sat down on their lap, each thigh on one side of the villain's hips.
The hero could tell this amused the villain to the fullest and they could also tell it wasn't just the alcohol. They leaned forward and tried to ignore how the villain's fingers were already playing with the fabric of the hero's outfit.
"I caught you," the hero said, nearly shouted the words into the villain's ear. By now, the villain's hands were on them but the hero supposed they had started all of this with getting on top of them in the first place. They figured those hands could stay on their hips a little longer, even though the villain squeezed their hips. They nodded briskly, clearly wanting the hero to listen to them.
"I let you catch me," the villain said when the hero leaned over once more. The hero could smell the alcohol. They could feel how hot the villain was. Literally, of course. They were burning.
"Dream on, sunshine. You'll spend the rest of the night in a cell."
"Oh, nooo..." The hero looked at them and the villain was clearly having a little too much fun. Their grin was eminent. Their eyes were on the hero's lips. "You are so cruel to your lover."
"We're not lovers."
"But you kissed meee..." The villain's lips touched the hero's ear shell and the hero couldn't help but shudder. They had gone to the club (which mostly consisted of superheroes getting drunk) to get some more intel on a new villain that had appeared a week ago. They had not expected their nemesis to be here.
And they hadn't expected them to be this touchy.
Usually, both of them were rather quiet people that only communicated if absolutely necessary.
The hero knew how much of a loser that truly made them but the villain on the other hand was a much more dangerous force. Their silence was usually a weapon.
"I did that because you almost died," the hero said. "You know that."
"You did that because you like me," the villain said. The hero couldn't help but wonder if the villain's true self was close to this drunk version of them. If the villain was flirty or chatty. It was intriguing. To know this much about someone and yet, it wasn't quite enough.
The hero took in a deep breath.
"I didn't know you go clubbing."
"I don't. Clubs are good sources of information," the villain said. They let their thumbs draw soft shapes into the hero's clothes. "I was asking around because you were so busy last week."
The hero frowned.
"And then you got drunk?"
"Kind of." The villain shrugged. "Drowning my sorrows. Honest mistake."
Maybe all of this would have been easier if the hero hadn't kissed them all those months ago. They knew they thought about the villain a lot, especially when they tried to distance themselves from them. It was everything but ideal. It was distracting and it bothered the hero. They knew what they were feeling, they knew what was going on and the hero absolutely hated it.
"About that kiss..." the villain began, chuckling to themselves, but they didn't really finish since the hero was on their feet a little too quick.
"I...have some business to attend to," the hero said.
"Wait." The villain stood up - swaying a little - and grabbed their arm. The villain's tug was powerful enough for the both of them to bump into each other again. "Didn't you want to arrest me?"
"Maybe another time. Count yourself lucky," they answered. They wanted to go and push themselves through the crowd full of heroes back to the exist but the villain didn't let go.
"Did I say something wrong?"
"What? No, no...you didn't."
"I thought you kinda liked me." Oh god, the hero couldn't do this. They couldn't...they couldn't confess in a club full of heroes and with the villain being drunk.
"I do, I...you know I like you. You know that." The hero loathed how soft their own voice could be.
"Yeah, but...shit, I gotta sit down." The villain did exactly that and the hero suspected the alcohol to do its true magic now. They knew the villain was strong enough to go home on their own, they were a villain after all, but some sense of responsibility (and desperation) kicked in.
"Come on." The hero's heartbeat was louder than the horrible pop song that was playing next. "Let's go home."
It only occurred to the hero later that they didn't know the villain's address.
Accordingly, the villain was more than confused when they woke up hungover in the hero's bed in the early morning. And the hero was even more confused when they woke up on the couch with the villain next to them, even though they had made sure the villain would stay in the hero's bed.

The Derivative Fashion Sense of Lore Olympus
So I'm usually out here going Gordon Ramsay on Rachel's ass about her writing and art, but for this unsolicited essay I will be wearing a different hat.

Yep, we're going Miranda Priestly today. Specifically the Miranda Priestly who talks fashion, not the Miranda Priestly who abuses employees lmao (though rest assured, I'm gonna have a lot of curt words throughout this).
Disclaimer: I am not at all an expert on fashion, these are just my thoughts and observations from studying fashion styles as part of my own artistic journey, so as always, take what I have to say with loads of salt. I also realize the irony that I am addressing the derivative nature of Lore Olympus when I, myself, am creating a derivative retelling of Lore Olympus.

Alright, enough small talk.
There's this general misconception in runway fashion that all those "impractical outfits" are meant to be worn by the average person, people such as myself who see these outfits and go "what the fuck do you mean Lady Gaga wore a dress made out of meat?!" When we see these crazy fits, our first impression is often "Why would anyone wear that?"
Well, because they aren't outfits. They're art pieces.

And not only are the outfits themselves art pieces, but the people wearing them are the canvases. These outfits aren't designed for just anyone to wear, especially not your average Joe, they're designed both with the artist's vision as well as the model in mind. A lot of thought, expression, cultural influences, and personal messaging is sewn into these designs.
Think about it this way, you couldn't take that aforementioned Gaga meat dress and put it on Taylor Swift. Not only would it not be physically tailored to her, but it wouldn't align with Swift's brand of music. Gaga, at the time of wearing that dress, was making a statement that came about from a collaborative effort between herself, the canvas, and her fashion designer, the artist. The meaning would be lost if you put Swift, Katy Perry, or any other musician into it, because the fact that Gaga is the one wearing it is part of that meaning.
What would happen if you did take the meat dress and put it on someone else? Well, that's how you get the controversial 2022 Met Gala when Kim Kardashian wore the sequin dress that Marilyn Monroe wore for JFK back in 1962.

Not a replica. Not a re-interpretation. The actual literal dress that Monroe once wore. This was a very bold - and in my opinion, reckless - move on Kim's part, because not only was she forcing herself into a dress not tailored to her (and yes, there has been deliberation on what damage was caused to the dress on account of this) but rather than working with a fashion designer to come up with a fresh new interpretation of the same concept, she just went "yeah I'm gonna wear the exact dress", in what many interpreted as a disrespectful power move to artificially put herself on the same level of prestige as Monroe. But she still isn't on that level of prestige and it speaks volumes that she thought carving out her own legacy would be as simple as just taking someone else's. The wolf wore the sheep's clothing with the intent to fool the sheep, but it was still a wolf.
But okay okay, WHAT does this have to do with Lore Olympus?

Well, Rachel released a new interview clip.

I will say, these seem to have all been recorded at once probably when she was back at NYCC and they're probably going to be released daily leading up to the free release of the finale. Why they're hyping up the free version rather than hyping up the FastPass version that actually generates income, I have no clue, but I digress.
As always, the transcript is as follows:
"I really like looking at like, uh, vintage clothing and silhouettes that are... y'know, timeless. I mean, obviously it's really hard to future-proof work that's set in the modern setting because of course the times are gonna change, like, rapidly and there's not a lot you can do about it, but in terms of, like, fashion, there are just some silhouettes that are always going to look very classy, so... I try to put things that will not age. Like, I think there was a chapter recently where she [Persephone?] had like a very vintage Dior look which I really liked, um... and I feel like that will always look nice, like in 10 years time I'll be like, 'She looked good'. But there are some outfits which are more modern where I'm like, 'That probably won't look good in 10 years time'. But, y'know, we still got the inspired vintage Dior outfit so that's good, that's safe."
There isn't much to say about the actual transcribed text itself, but I do think it's very telling that Rachel tries to upsell her sense of fashion sense in LO when... much of it is just flat out derivative. At best she's often referencing real life people (mostly Hollywood celebrities) and at worst she's usually just grabbing stuff off Pinterest inspo boards without any consideration towards the influences or who she's putting into them.
That said, I do think she told on herself quite a bit in that final line of the interview clip - "that's good, that's safe."
I can understand wanting to play it safe in terms of knowing your limitations and not wanting to create something that would be dated in a few years.
But fashion... isn't about playing it safe. Because ultimately, how something ages in the long term isn't something that you, the artist, can control, and like many art mediums, you need to be focused on what to create next, not on how well your old art pieces still hold up in the present where they've been removed from their original context.

And I think this rings true for a lot of Lore Olympus, beyond just the fashion. It's all just a little too safe. We see it in the fashion, we see it in her uncommitted writing decisions, we see it in how often she's willing to retcon things just to write herself out of corners.
And I think that's really Rachel's biggest weakness as a creator at the end of the day. As much as she's tried to put on the persona of "screw you, I'll do what I want", her actions are always the opposite of what she says. She says that the fashion in LO is very vintage, but I can count on one hand how many outfits were actually vintage. The vast majority of them are a lot more modern, with a lot of Western influences, and sometimes with a boob window thrown in.
Case in point, the most recent outfit of Persephone wearing a practically-nude sparkle dress?

That's Rihanna's Swarovski dress that she wore in 2014.

Now, to Rachel's credit, she did find a way to personalize this to Persephone by removing the cap and giving her a rose-shaped bun, but the outfit itself is still just copied directly from Rihanna. Not only is there not a whole lot of Persephone's influence beyond her being literally made out of roses-

-but there isn't anything calling attention to the fact that this is a Greek myth retelling. And this isn't just a problem with the Swarovski dress callback, this is a problem EVERYWHERE.

And of course, that's not even touching on the fact that Hades and Hecate are forced to wear suits constantly. Because, according to Rachel, the fashion inspiration for Hades and Persephone only went as deep is "he's the groom and she's the bride"-

Rachel plays it safe by sticking purely to the inspirations she consumes from modern American media. The "modern twist" on the myths in LO is literally just "it's Greek myth but it's set in Los Angeles". She doesn't seem to want to put herself out there and actually consume Greek content any deeper than what she can find on Google, and it shows in how little Greek there is in this Greek myth comic.
There is, ironically, as I've been told by community members in ULO, a fashion collection called Persephone created by Paolo Sebastian, and in it you can see the actual Greek influences in these outfits far more than what you see in even Persephone's most visually stunning outfits:

These are dresses and yet Paolo uses them as an opportunity to tell the story of Persephone, somehow even more faithfully than an actual written adaption of The Hymn to Demeter. Because fashion, too, can tell a story - and Lore Olympus' fashion, like its writing, has no story to really tell, at least not in Rachel's hands when she's just pulling whatever she can find from what she treats as a pile of "stuff" on Google.

And that's not even getting into how the writing plays it safe much in the same way as the fashion influences and artistic choices. A good example is that S3 premiere sequence, in which Hades and Persephone are pulled away from each other so that... they can get washed down by their family and peers.

Rachel doesn't really do anything to re-contextualize this reference for the context and setting and circumstances of LO, she just goes "I liked that bath scene from Beauty and the Beast so I'm going to put it in LO."
And of course, it doesn't work as effectively as it did in Beauty and the Beast, because the whole original point of that scene was to showcase the big and scary Beast being washed down like a dog by his servants-turned-into-furniture while he stresses over how he's going to win over Belle. It's a comedic subversion, artistically by showing the ferocious beast reduced into a wet dog, but also on a narrative level by showing through his dialogue and actions how nervous he is to impress Belle because his own fate - as well as the fates of his servants - depend on her falling in love with him. He can't afford to mess this up.
But in LO, it's two naked people who we already know love each other and are committed to each other, we've already seen countless scenes of them being sweet on each other and showcasing that they're into each other, and by all accounts they've already gotten their happy ending, so it makes no sense for them to just be like "OMG SHE LIKES ME?? I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE LIKES ME!" "should I seduce him?!?!??" because this seems like a no-brainer and there's zero actual stakes riding on this the way that there was with Belle and the Beast. Plus the people washing them down aren't their servants who are in the same situation as them, they're random gods from the Pantheon whose affiliation ranges from "family" to "never even had a conversation before". One of the women washing down Persephone has literally never spoken a single line of dialogue to her; another one of them was literally dumped by her partner because he wanted Persephone more than her. Who are these people and why are they enthusiastically appearing to give her a bath? Why is Hades being given a scrub down by his own brother?
And that's really the most striking difference between inspired references and derivative ones. Undertale was a game created by a guy who was in love with retro games like Earthbound and Megaman. Stardew Valley was a game created by a guy who loved Harvest Moon and used to play it with his girlfriend. Content that's built on the foundation of another is natural and the basis of inspiration, but you have to go further with it than just going "yeah this thing existed and I'm taking it", otherwise you miss the purpose of why those inspirations were created the way they were.
And when you don't actually explore how you can re-interpret those influences and add your own voice into them, that's how you wind up writing like Rachel whose writing is about as inspired as a cheap character swap cutaway gag from Family Guy.

Rachel's great at referencing, but that's not at all an impressive thing to do as proven by Peter Griffin. She's not at all re-contextualizing or expanding on what inspired her... but she still claims that she's exactly what she's doing because she calls Lore Olympus a "deconstruction". But her deconstruction only ever goes so far as "well what if Aphrodite left Ares for Hephaestus instead of the other way around?" and then just showing that question and never answering it or delivering on the potential of what that could cause. At best, she'll ask a "what if?" but then never actually show us the what if, it begins and ends with the question and the question itself doesn't provoke any thought deeper than "huh, yeah, that would be neat I guess." Episode's over, next scene. What if we showed that clip of Bill O'Reilly freaking out on set, but like, replaced it with Stewie Griffin and changed nothing else about it except for that? That's the joke, next scene.
I know, we're digressing hard off the fashion here, but the fashion itself is just a symptom of a much bigger problem that expands even beyond Lore Olympus - Rachel plays things way too safe. Even her responses in her interviews are painfully subdued, often resorting to the same tired answers that we've heard 823190589320 times before to the same hand-picked questions that are undoubtedly chosen ahead of time to ensure she doesn't have to answer anything too complicated. And when she does say "I have thoughts about xyz" she never actually... expresses her thoughts. She just says she does and then moves on without any further elaboration because she can't wholeheartedly commit to whatever thoughts she has going on.

Granted, I'm sure that part of that is owed to the fact that she might feel like she can't say anything while the critics are breathing down her neck. I can understand that. But it's gotten so chronic that it's now bleeding into the work itself and it's led to even more criticism of her work. Need I remind you that this is the same person who copy pasted the definition of "xenia" from a first result Google search into her comic instead of naturally writing it into the script:

Rachel played it so safe that she basically treated her own audience like kindergartners by explaining what a scene meant even after explaining it in the text:

As true as it is in fashion, writing stories and making art takes risks. That doesn't mean you have to completely throw caution to the wind, but if you don't take risks, you do yourself the disservice of writing something that can truly be called unique and special to you. If you don't use your influences wisely, if you don't analyze and re-analyze what's influenced you over the years, you're going to wind up losing a lot of subtext in those influences and missing out on the opportunity to add your own voice into the re-interpretation. Rachel does take a lot of risks in LO, but they're not calculated risks, they're not risks that actually have any meaning behind them, she's sort of just throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks, and worst of all, when it doesn't stick, she herself doesn't stick to it, she backpedals, she cowers away from the decisions she's made.
Rachel expressed her worries about depicting fashion that would become aged, but Lore Olympus is already aged through her own inability to commit to her decisions, take risks, and find her voice. It's aged itself through its poor interpretations of the myth, it's aged itself through its reliance on Tumblr tropes that have already been replaced tenfold, and it's aged itself through Rachel herself riding off the initial innovation of creating Lore Olympus and then never continuing to challenge herself or raise the bar for herself.
It proves true the discussion around why Lore Olympus became popular - at the time, it was groundbreaking, drawn in a style that we hadn't seen much of before, with fresh new takes on the myth; now, in 2024, its 'takes' feel tired and half-baked, and its art style has become a corporate-scrubbed shell of what it once was. And yet, Rachel is still rewarded for it all the same, so settling for comfortable mediocrity has become the name of the game.
Rachel may be trying as hard as the Disney life action remakes and Kim Kardashian to put herself on the same pedestal as the greats of yesteryear simply by copying what they did, but in playing it this safe and refusing to find her own voice out of the voices that influenced her, Lore Olympus isn't timeless. It's soulless.

Cosplay Build Guide: Marko's Jacket from The Lost Boys (1987)

I am a lover of the horror genre; horror movies, books, games, you name it! And one of my favorite horror movies is the 1987 classic “The Lost Boys”, which focuses on a gang of motorcycle-riding vampires in the fictional California town of Santa Carla. I'm also a big fan of thrifting and modifying items for cosplay. I decided to combine those two things and make a garment that has lived rent-free in my head since I first saw the film: the colorful patchwork jacket worn by the vampire Marko.
I'm going to walk you through how I made Marko's jacket, breaking down the different parts that comprise the garment.
Marko’s outfit is made up of several components: a white cropped tank top, light wash denim jeans, leather chaps, custom painted leather moto boots, fingerless motorcycle gloves, a black skull earring, and of course, that iconic and extremely loud jacket. 
All four titular vampires have a signature jacket they wear in the movie, and Marko’s is by far the most elaborate and distinctive. It consists of three main parts: the base jacket, the Italian tapestries, and the patches. Because of the nature of this build, I had to do a ton of intensive research to determine the individual and highly specific parts of the jacket. My main references were photos from movie memorabilia auction sites whenever one of the original jackets went up for sale, since they photograph the jacket from all angles.
Part 1: The Base Jacket
Marko’s base jacket is, according to my research, a men’s black Levi’s denim jacket in a size 40, which I believe translates to a medium. Now, I’m a petite woman (5’3”, athletic but slim), so I knew that the exact jacket would be too big for my frame. Instead, I found a men’s black denim jacket in an extra small; it's very similar in style to the original, but a little better proportioned for me. It's still very much oversized though. The first things I did were remove the buttons and pockets, and I cut off the hem of the jacket and the sleeve cuffs. Then I tossed the jacket in the washing machine to fray the edges.

Part 2: The Tapestries
The hardest part of the jacket by far was finding the tapestries, for two reasons. The first is that the tapestries were all from the 1960’s and 1970’s, meaning I had to scour vintage stores and websites to find the right ones. The second is the variation. Six jackets were made for each Lost Boy in the movie; this is standard for a film, since some jackets would be used for closeups (the”hero” jackets) while others were used for stunts, and a few even have intentional holes in them for harness rigging. Because of that and the thrifted nature of the jacket, the Marko jackets for the film all differ slightly in the placement of the tapestries and patches.
There are five tapestries in total. Three are velvet: the matador, the peacock, and the leopard with the messed up face. These are impossible to dupe via Spoonflower or Contrado (custom fabric printing websites) due to the fact that these three are essentially small rugs. The other two, chariot lady and cat lady, are dupable via Spoonflower or Contrado printing since they aren’t the same fabric as the others.
The two pin-up tapestries are nearly impossible to find, more so than the velvet ones. In my months of searching, I never found either pin-up tapestry, so I had them printed by Contrado, along with the collar trim.

If you go searching for the velvet tapestries, you'll notice that there are several different versions of each one, with slight changes in color and placement of things in the art. How accurate you want to be is up to you. My peacock and matador are accurate to the tapestries on one of the stunt jackets, whereas my leopard is the correct color but wrong direction. That's doesn't bother me much, personally, especially since the leopard is the hardest of the velvet tapestries to find by far.

Once the tapestries were acquired, I measured different sections based on the dimensions of the jacket, mapped it out using washi tape on the tapestries, and then cut them all out. There was a decent amount of math involved here, specifically regarding scaling the sections of tapestry down by a few inches since my jacket is smaller than the original. I then arranged them all onto the denim jacket and pinned them in place before hand sewing them (yes, you read that right; I hand sewed this whole thing) on in the correct overlap. I also added the rhinestones to the cat lady.
I recommend using embroidery needles and upholstery thread to attach the tapestries to the jacket, due to the thickness and the weight. I also sewed along the designs in the tapestries themselves to better hide the stitching within the image.

Part 3: The Patches
Marko’s jacket has a total of 26 different patches on it, most of which are motorcycle or punk themed. For these, I found a seller on Etsy who makes 24 of them, and I used Contrado to print the remaining two (the anarchy symbol and the large skull) on canvas and added the stitching. You could thrift and find the patches as well, but here's the thing: while some of these patches are pretty easy to find, others seem to be nonexistent, to the point that I wonder if some were made exclusively for the movie. That's why I went and purchased my patches instead of hunting them down. My personal favorite is the “Screw U” one. One fun fact about the patches is that the large winged skull on the back is a leftover from the movie “The Warriors”.
I once again hand sewed these all on as per the references from the movie. You might think that ironing the patches on is an easier method, but there's a few reasons why that won't work: 1) the patches in the movie are sewn on; if you zoom in, you can see the stitching 2) I'm not sure the patches would even adhere to the velvet and velour of the tapestries and 3) if you decide you don't like the placement of a patch that you sewed on, you can just seam rip the stitching and adjust it, which you can't really do as cleanly with an ironed-on patch.

Part 4: The Tassels
The tassels on the jacket’s shoulder are not tassels at all; they’re squid skirts (a type of fishing lure), which is something I never knew existed until I started researching for this build. For these, I found a fishing tackle website that had the closest match to the colors I needed, a blue-grey/orange and a yellow/green. Both squids also have glitter and little eyes painted on.

Part 5: Weathering and Finishing Touches
Lastly, I weathered the jacket to give it that lived-in look. For the dirt/dust on the patches, I used powder eyeshadow. I also picked at the edges of the tapestries to fray them a bit. And to make the patches less stiff, I just broke the jacket in by wearing it around my house. The great thing about this jacket is that the more I wear it and the more it weathers, the better it'll look.

FAQ
How heavy and warm is the jacket?
The jacket is made of denim and rugs, so its pretty warm and heavy. It honestly feels like wearing a weighted blanket, which is a nice bonus if you're anxiety made flesh like I am. It makes a lot of sense for the jacket to be on the heavier side, because if you’ve been to Northern California, you know how cold it can get on the coast, especially at night (not sure if vampires can feel cold, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
How long did it take you to make the jacket?
I don’t time my cosplay builds, but I can guess based on the amount of TV/movies/podcasts/playlists consumed as I was working on it. I'm also pretty fast when it comes to hand sewing. By my estimation, the jacket took me about 45-50 hours of work, and that’s not counting the time I spent searching for the tapestries.
Can you make me one?

✨Kaiju Siblings!!✨
Did something small & simple just to take things easy & also while having fun. I often enjoy drawing these two interacting with each other. At least in my version of things, they are in fact siblings. They both share a lot of things together & of course are the future heir to Godzilla’s name & status. However, each are very different in their personalities. At least how they treat & do things:
Junior is the more curious outgoing type. She loves meeting new friends & generally seeing/learning new things. More so, she’s the one to start conversations & ask a lot of questions. To her, she likes getting to know others better (for that reason she has a lot of friends). Junior can also even be more confrontational whenever necessary to be. Putting her skills as a kaiju to the test & being able to stand herself strong. She’s not afraid to intimidate (she can be pretty brutal with downsizing the other if deserved (I’ll provide an example later ^^:). But for the most part, she’s very sweet & overall very adorable in how she does certain things (making her more serious moments more unexpected lol)
Minilla on the other hand is very awkward & less outgoing like his sister (pretty much the opposite; an actual introvert). He always wants to prove that he can be just as strong & be a great kaiju like their dad. But in the end, he lets fear overcome him or suddenly the thoughts of failing already overwhelm him into thinking it would happen. Along with the thing that he doesnt exactly like confrontation or being outed as much. If anything, he prefers if all could get along peacefully (which isnt anything easy in the kaiju world. But however, he still wants to work on being more confident so he often looks up to others he sees as role models. Minilla’s own role models happen to be: Godzilla of course, Ultraman (he happens to be Ultraman’s biggest fan actually), & even his own sister. He’s still very much going at it. No matter how many times he fails, he still keeps going. Shows that he’s got a very strong will & pretty sure he’d be great as the next Godzilla
Junior very much deeply loves her own older brother (Minilla’s the oldest & Junior’s the youngest btw). She understands his struggle more than anyone, for that reason she’s more than willing to helping him out. She’s quite literally his biggest supporter & always brings to his attention whenever he did something well or showed improvement. As a matter of fact, Minilla has their own burst of celebration whenever they’re able to successfully accomplish something (think of it as a lil happy dance he does). She hugs him as a reward as a good job & despite her being younger than him, she has the big heart to care after him too (as a way to show her love). Minilla always loves watching Ultraman whenever on tv (in this universe, Ultraman both doubles as a celebrity superstar & actual hero for both the humans & kaiju; well, more of just a celebrity to the kaiju at least) & taking inspiration from his favorite hero. That way to boost his motivation & even getting ideas on how to be a more powerful kaiju. Minilla does in fact have to deal with Gabara in this version too. Despite of how much Gabara has made him feel afraid from being bullied by him, Minilla’s ready to fight back thanks to the help from others with him
Well those were just some of my own thoughts. I also gave them some outfits that i felt matched perfectly with their described personalities ^^

Hello, I was wondering if I could request an ask for SAGAU? I have the game but I haven’t played it since 2023😭And I just found out about this whole SAGAU thing, so sorry if I’m not too familiar with Genshin Impact lore.. Though I have a few questions, if I may ask!
For starters, if we were in a Isekai’d SAGAU, how would the people of Teyvat react to our clothing? You can see in all the characters that each one wears intricate clothing that represents their powers, hobbies, personalities and more! And there’s just so much detail! Yet when the Creator finally descended back down to Teyvat from who knows how long- They found the creator wearing sweatpants and a stained hoodie with slippers💀
Like out of all the people the Creator came back with the most basic outfit. So would they ask questions? I would like to think that certain characters would immediately spoil them with the most beautiful outfits, made from the most expensive fabrics in all of Teyvat, along with luxurious diamonds, pearls and more for accessories! And maybe each part of Teyvat the creator visits, each outfit of theirs would change to the traditions and cultures of the countries (If we could consider them that)

You know how there is Khaenri'ah, and Enkanomiya for those who made it that far, and how there is also ancient traditions from the ancient history of the current nations and their cities.
You know how the statues of the seven have specific outfits for each characters god form. Well, to the people of Teyvat, before they recognize you as the Creator, they would think you're from a far away nation.
When they realize you're the Creator, believe that you're outfit is of an ancient culture. They would ask you about the outfit for hours on end.
Your basic clothing would be perceived as you trying to hide, from what they don't know.
In Sumeru the scholars of the Akademiya would study the clothing to try and find a match. Like you would be standing still while they study the cloth and shoes while Alhaitham is documenting whatever it is they find.
The other nations would try and copy the style of clothing and shoes with their on materials.
Chiori would definitely try and make a version of your outfit, with her own personal flare of course, and it would sell out in Fontaine.
Basically, you would be questioned to high heaven.

THIS FIC IS MADE AS ENTERTAINMENT IT ISN'T CANON.
I made it, because someone challenged me (a group). So I went loose and wrote this.

This is also a more... fleshed out version of something I said for an ask. Enjoy!!
There you were, walking into the club in the most revealing outfit that you had. You decided that tonight you would let loose for once and join some kings in the club. Little did you know that some… problems would occur. Satan wouldn't mind seeing you comfortable in a sexy outfit. So when his eyes landed on you wearing a revealing outfit, he smiled and made his way over to you. Stopping in his tracks as he sees that everyone is eyeing you especially that other king that has been lounging at his place for a while. Some demons could've been jealous, while some were acting as if they were in a trance. He didn't feel jealous when those lower demons looked though, but he DID feel anger when he saw that it was Beel that was eyeing you. He continues walking over to you and drags you away from everyone’s view. He wasn’t listening to your cries of protest as he made his way to the more private parts of the building. You could feel that he was tense out of anger, but the anger wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the demons that would eye you as if they could take you away from him.
When you opened your mouth and tried to ask what was wrong, he interrupted you.
"I don't like how they looked at you.", would be all that he says as he dragged you back to the restrooms and locked you both in a stall.
  He pushed you against a wall and started to kiss you. You pushed Satan away from you as you sighed, slightly confused that he suddenly dragged you away and started kissing you. You look around and opened your mouth: ‘Very romantic…’, you said sarcastically.
He scoffed and inched closer to you as your noses almost touched. “I need you right now.”, was all he needed to say to get your knees weak. “So a bathroom stall was the best place to fuck me?”, was all you asked as he sighed himself. “Can we please do it here? I really do want you right now.”, he said as he started to kiss your neck. Trying to convince you to let him continue. “I promise it’ll be as good as always.”, he said as he pulled away from your neck and gave you a soft kiss on the lips.
“… Fine… only this time”, was all he needed to hear as he started to kiss you more passionately.
  He pulled away and said: ” Stay quiet.”, as he started kissing you again. The kissing that turned into a heavy make-out session, made you moan softly as you tried to listen and stay as quiet as you could. He slowly took off your top as his hands started to move along your chest, tugging on your nipples. You made quiet gasps at the gesture. It made him feel excited about whatever he had on his mind. Little did he know that a certain king followed you both into the restroom. Listening in on you and Satan being naughty in the stall. It was only until you moaned a little louder that Beel walked over to the stall and spooked both you and Satan with his knocking. With an annoying sigh, Satan slammed the door open.
"It's already bad that you were eyeing them, but trying to join in?", Satan scoffed as he looked at the man before him. Beel smirked as his eyes diverted to you, who was still standing in the stall. “Want some help, sugar? I’m pretty sure I could give you a good time.~”, Beel said as he ignored Satan and made his way toward the stall. He let out an annoyed sigh as Satan blocked him and flipped him off. “They’re mine, fucker. Get someone else in the club. I know a lot of demons and succubi that would looove to get it on with you. Try there, you piece of garbage.”, Satan said as he tried to lock the stall with you again. But Beel managed to slip into the already cramped stall.
“Are you fucking for real?”, Satan said annoyed. Of course, Beel would’ve used his weird ass power to get what he wants. So here you were. Locked up in a stall with two demon kings looking down at you. You looked like a fragile, frail little rabbit that couldn’t escape the two wolves that blocked your way.
  Beel laughed at your expression and at the situation as he decided to do what he wanted to do with you since his eyes were laid upon you. He knelt down and tugged at your trousers. A blush spread across your face. You didn’t want to fight back, but having two demons do this with you did make you feel shy. You hesitantly gave Beel a sign to continue. When you did Satan just scoffed and inched closer to you. You could feel his breath on your face again as he went back in for a kiss, his hands were back on your chest. Again teasing your nipples
  The kiss consisted of you moaning, panting, and mumbling. The feeling of being pleasured down there while being kissed and teased felt too good. Beel was slurping down there as if he hadn’t eaten or drank for centuries. Meanwhile, Satan was just sucking your lips till they were swollen, licking and biting down your neck. Even taking some blood. You had to admit it was hot when he pulled back and licked away the blood from the corner of his mouth. “You taste amazing.”, was all that Satan said afterward. Beel agreed by giving a hum while continuing to slurp down there.
  At some point you wanted more, you needed more. You started to beg both of them to actually fuck you and to stop edging and teasing you. They both smirked. Satan moved down to be on his kneels with Beel. He glanced up at you, a devilish smile gracing his features. His eyes felt as if they were piercing through you. “I also want a taste down here, hot stuff.”, was all he said as he attached his mouth to your privates. Beel scoffed as he stood up and whispered in your ears.
“He may have stolen my dinner, but your taste will linger in my mouth for a while. May I just say that you are the number one thing on my menu.”, he whispered as he bit your ear afterward. The blush that was on your face spread towards your ears and neck as you felt him take your hand.
He unbuckled his belt and slid out his hardened member. He started stroking it for a second before his ocean-green eyes looked into yours. “Would you like to pleasure me for the time being? Seems like your hands could be helpful.”, he said as he started to wrap your hand around his member. He moved your hand along his length a few times before letting you do all the work. With his free hands, he decided to tease your sensitive nipples some more. It resulted in you crying out for it to be done. You needed something in you. You wanted them to stop and just fuck you senseless because the constant teasing and sucking didn’t help enough. It made you more impatient by the second. As a way to urge them to speed up, you started pumping Beel’s shaft while your free hand took hold of Satan’s horn. You started to rub the horn softly, soon after getting rougher and rougher with your hand movements. Now not only you, but the two devils there with you needed something more than just teasing and rubbing. They wanted to be inside of you. They wanted to feel your warmth. Satan sped up his slurping and nibbling, getting rougher to get you to release. Beel was whispering into your ear how dirty you were being and how good you were doing, giving both praises and degrading words. It all stopped the moment you felt both of them releasing a liquid in your hands.
  You looked down as you saw Satan’s features being heightened by the blush and the clear liquid gracing his face. Meanwhile, Beel was riding out his high by continuing to thrust into your hand.
Satan laughed as he stood up and unbuckled his trousers. He moved backward, pulling you into him as his back was against the wall. It gave Beel enough room to stand behind you as they both rid you and themselves of their trousers. It being piled up together. You waited for their next move, wondering what they have in mind. That question got answered as they both put on some condoms. Satan placed your hands on his shoulders. “Hang on.”, he said as you were lifted by both Beel and Satan. You felt both their tips push against your opening. “Wait-, double?”, you asked. You weren’t against the idea, but knowing your location, you felt unsure if you could keep quiet with others outside the room. Beel laughed at your sudden shyness. “You’ve been whimpering like a dog in heat the entire time and now you are shy? Don’t worry we’re definitely not the first or the last ones that did shit in public. So there’s no use in feeling embarrassed at this point.”
  That’s when they lowered you down onto their shafts. You felt a slight sting at them opening you up. They both were gentle with you the entire time until they were comfortable sheathed inside of you.
The feeling of both of them stretching you out made you dig your nails into Satan, making him groan.
While waiting for you to adjust, Satan made you comfortable by rubbing his thumb against the flesh of your leg. Beel was whispering some praises and gave little kisses against your neck. Both of them focusing on your comfort before trying to move you. You rested your head back against Beel’s shoulder as you gave them a sign to move. Both of them dragged you along their lengths slowly, soon after speeding up. Both you and the guys started to moan loudly. Satan smiled as he looked down, focusing on how his shaft disappeared and reappeared with every thrust. “Haha! You feel so fucking amazing.~”, Satan moaned out as you could only respond in moans. Your moaning out only fueled both demons as they started to cooperate. Satan was now holing you firmly at your thighs, near your ass. Beel wrapped one arm around your waist as his other hand moved down to start pleasuring your sensitive area. The extra pleasure made tears forms in your eyes, your mind was getting dumber by the second. The pleasure made it unable for you to think as Satan leaned in to kiss you again. The attention both of them were giving you forced you closer to your limit as you started to clench harder around them. Both men knew that you were close and so were they. Bells Hells Episode 95 Morning After Thoughts
SPOILERS BELOW!!! (This has become a weekly thing for me to help digest the episodes and I'm probably gonna keep doing it. really helps with my episode memory as well)
New favorite Campaign 3 episode unlocked!!!! The title of this episode has been released on Beacon (I won't spoil that), but I will personally be referring to it as "Shopping and Shipping" in my own head. It just had the perfect amount of everything and felt so incredibly cathartic (then stressful in the best way) after everything that's happened in recent episodes.
Let's break it down:
The Essek v Astrid verbal showdown!!! Essek appears to hold all the grudges that Caleb doesn't (or at least didn't really at the end of M9). When Astrid dropped the "Ludinus has an itch in the back of his neck" lore I was thinking back to when they first learned more about the harness and someone (I think it was either Marisha or Laura) wrote in their notes "We cut off Ludinus's head!!!" that was later read aloud. After that convo, that action seems like a decent play. That or maybe the Cadeuces-style Dispell Magic to the back of the neck. (side note: of course Fearne bought the Vasselheim version of the Kama Sutra 😂)
NEW CLOTHES FOR EVERYONE!!! We know there's new Dorian art waiting to be released since he rejoined the party, but everyone is getting an Aeor-ready makeover! It makes perfect sense, but I was still thrown off by the level of outfit upgrades and am so excited for the art!
Pumat is BACK! Well, his Simulacrum are at least. I don't care, just hearing that voice made me so happy. And also Dorian giving all his money to Orym so he can buy the armor? So what if I was squealing?
Downtime at the Cabaret ❤️ The Imodna kiss as Laudna went back upstairs. The Callowmoore flirting leads to Ashton, for the first time in a LONG time, successfully pick-pocketing Fearne. Dorian and Chetney banter back in full swing. Fearne leaving the EXU group hug to give Dorym a moment together. going back slightly but Iva Deshin made Bells Hells clock that YES, YOU ALL DO GIVE OFF POLYAMOROUS VIBES! So many character moments that have been needed in such a plot-heavy story
Ashton shows their head off to Essek! I have been waiting for this for sooooo long!!! Allura had given some answers, but talking more about how Dunamancy and the Assembly's manipulation of Dunamis has played a role in everything going on. While the cast know this info out of character, its good that they finally can do so in character as well
Laudna, Delilah, and the Sword-Shaped Elephant in the Room. Well, damn. First off, the acting in this last hour or so was AMAZING!! Also incredibly demonstrative of the level of trust at the table. Now to talk about the moment itself. The line between Laudna and Delilah has been getting blurrier and last night I don't think Marisha even knew fully where Laudna ended and Delilah began. The cast and many insightful Critters have been comparing Laudna to an addict and last night is an incredible example. The way Laudna handled it was wrong, this could have been a conversation rather than an initial attack. But was Laudna or Delilah the one making those choices? Or being manipulated into them? In the moment, the calm approach the group tried to take was the right one, but honestly, Laudna needs a harsher talking-to like what Chetney did with Ashton post-shard incident. Taliesin on 4SD said that's what saved Ashton from leaving the group. It might be something that, other than Imogen's love, may be enough of a wake-up call to help her break away from her Delilah-induced magic addiction
TLDR: The whole episode was full of amazing moments that were cathartic, informative, tense, and heartwarming. THE PERFECT BELLS HELLS EPISODE! again, that's just my opinion. I'd love to hear what everyone else thought too!

This may be something you have already covered, or considered and discarded, but. Thoughts on Jod being trans?
Because it seemed slightly odd to me, that a AMAB kid going to his grandmother’s house would be allowed to play with his mum’s toys. Especially if they’re “traditionally girly” toys, as opposed to being told to run around or given a ball to do sports.
Whereas a little AFAB kid would gladly be given his mum’s dolls by a traditional grandma and told to play nicely and quietly. Not identifying with the Barbies so much as finding them so pretty (especially compared to the Ken dolls that look nothing like him, which he feeds to Ulysses the dog).
And then, two or three decades later and finding that he is now God. He has consumed the Earth and her siblings and made her anew.
How easy is it to change the bits about himself he never felt were right? To remake himself as God in the flesh? To look upon himself and say, it is good?
"When I was seven, you know, all Nana had to play with in her house was some of Mum's old toys. And my favouite out of all of them..." He gave a long, shuddering sigh. "My favourite was her old Hollywood Hair Barbie," he murmured. "I loved her little gold outfit and her long yellow hair. She was the best. She got to have all the adventures. There was also a Bride's Dream Midge, but Mum had cut Midge's hair into this weird mullet. It was Barbie for me." She looked at him. He looked at her. He added, "Not Hollywood Hair Ken. Mum had him too, but he was a creep. I gave him to Nana's dog to eat."
This is what we get when John is describing the "scraps of id" that lead him to make Alecto look like some kind of nightmarish Barbie. The 'id' is, psychoanalytically, the most instinctual, basic part of the self. If John is being truthful here, then he's expressing something very basic about himself and his motivations in making Alecto.
I'm not convinced that we can infer anything about his Nana's attitude towards what toys a child should be allowed to play with. John is probably born somewhere between the mid 90s to the mid 20s, so it's just as possible that John playing with his mum's old Barbies is evidence that his family was fairly progressive. Or too poor to afford new toys. Or just ambivalent about the toys he played with.
In terms of John and gender, or at least John and masculinity, this interview has an interesting insight into what Tamsyn might be doing with that:
the God of the Locked Tomb IS a man; he IS the Father and the Teacher; it’s an inherently masc role played by someone who has an uneasy relationship himself to playing a Biblical patriarch. John falls back on hierarchies and roles because they’re familiar even when he’s struggling not to. Even he identifies himself as the God who became man and the man who became God.
Though of course, to quote a different interview, this is a series where "readers will end up STICKY and GREASY with GENDER and BIBLE" and where Lyctorhood is "a huge genderfuck".
So I think there's certainly scope for trans readings of John, which shift the framework for the way that John is positioning himself in relation to his masc roleplaying of god. There's a number of elements that would have a very different resonance in such readings, not least putting Alecto into such a specific version of a woman's body, and the tension between his own exercise of bodily autonomy and his utter restriction and violation of others' bodily autonomy.
Personally, my take is that John is meant to be a type of cis man I'm sure many of us have met - one who is at pains to demonstrate his feminism, who perhaps finds the boundaries of masculinity confining to some extent, but who is ultimately unwilling to examine how deeply those boundaries are part of the way he views the world and interacts with others. And with John, this is writ large, quite literally: endowed with godlike power, he falls back on the patriarchal image of god. John may go out of his way to tell us that the maternity problem was important to him, that he played with Barbies, that he *cares*, but at the end of the day that introspection doesn't translate into his actions.
Regardless of how John came to his relationship with masculinity, he's stuck with - or perhaps in context we could say haunted by - a very particular conception of patriarchal masculinity.

Welcome to more Headcanons where I discuss clothing. Because it is fun for me. Today we will talk about Jade Leech and how in my mind he dresses like a serial killer; specifically Patrick Bateman. Just kidding. I will talk about that sort of fashion later. When I make these posts I plan to update them with another version of the character dressing in another way. But, let’s keep it short.
Subtle Punk/Grunge

Firstly, Jade has been confirmed in many ways to be more muscle than Floyd. So I like to personally picture him in tight fitting tops. His own mental mind game of showing you; “If I wanted to hurt you I would.” But of course image is everything.
I am desperately clinging to the Punk Jade we could have had in canon with piercings and body modifications but also… Going to a prestigious academy… Jade cares a lot about how he is seen by others on campus. The butler trope fits him very well, but what about off campus? I think he does wear subtle punk fashion when he’s out alone on the island. He loves the belts and black boots and how to layer shirts. All while asking some frightened looking cashier about what kind of mushroom spores they sell.
The reasons for the heavier fashion; A) I personally like it. And it’s okay to disagree with me. B) Jade is a merman, and in my mind their ability to regulate temperature isn’t the same as someone on land. So I would like to think that Jade has issues with cold weather. Please see his club wear card.

I get that camping can be something you need to layer for, but a coat, and a sweatshirt, and a turtleneck, and a wool(?) hat with gloves? He either has horrible circulation or mermen just have issues with cold weather. I think it’s the ladder. Jade also looks good in boots. Being in the Mountain Lovers Club, and even during the Camp event he looks good in boots. Combat boots and kicker boots are also something you usually will see with punk and more ‘aggressive’ forms of alternative fashion. He’s so used to wearing boots when he goes hiking that it feels more natural to wear something like that even on weekends when he’s out and about. Also, the heaviness is like extra weight so he can strengthen his legs. At least that’s what I think. He doesn’t seem like a jeans man but there’s also a lot of things Jade hides about himself. Now for a quick outfit!

I think he usually will wear things like this as it gets darker and he hangs out at underground music clubs where it’s mostly rock and alternative music playing. Now, Jade comes from money. Which can make him seem like a ‘poser’ because he is a nepo baby. But Jade also loves doing something and getting results. Like taking care of terrariums and discovering things in the mountains. I don’t think when he dresses like this he focuses on the best brand clothing wise. I think he wants to not stand out so I think he would go for darker colors while still having personality with his outfit. So I also gave him those nasty ass crust-punk jeans because I think he would have a pair he made himself and they probably smell like Fritos. He washes them… Sometimes.
Accessories… I can imagine Jade wearing small ones or thin leather bracelets with beads. But also at a music club, he probably would take time to make kandi to trade with some local emos. Rings would look nice on him. Especially big metal ones with chunky charms so if he gets into a fight, it’s like pseudo brass knuckles. He keeps it classy and clean while still upkeeping how he looks and is perceived. He wants to go all out. Shaved sides of his head and all. But he also fears… Something. I think he has to be seen a certain way for family reasons but also because of how he is seen at school. I think Jade… Lacks confidence to be himself. Even if he says he’s happy being a little weird and having such a pristine self image… Is he really? … It’s all my Headcanons and you don’t have to agree with me. But this is what I think.

I WAS going to work on another shenanigans in space piece but then i found those brushes and an old sketch and decided to just wing it.

In all honesty, the brushes were an absolute joy to work with and I really look forward to using them in future!
I know technically speaking, it was the wedding rehearsal so RS shouldn't be in his wedding outfit but I couldn't resist
No glasses for this lad. Not on his wedding. I refuse.
The little letter on both their outfits is a character that means togetherness I believe, commonly used in weddings.
Patterns on the bottom for mountains and such since his family has always kinda lived on mountains (heck, they had one of their very on in jttw)

Not much else to say about the guy, I am really pleased with his design :)

His color pallette was difficult to work with, I ended up color picking from lbd, possessed wukong and Emily herself
I wanted to go for more of a clouds theme and stars (flowers of course cause, wedding. Duh) and had to resist bringing him out cause it is a plot point that all of mk's jewels were stolen.
Also no headband. I don't know if he'd wear it to his wedding but in this au, he doesn't for the time being.
Cultural references!
If anyone remembers that tumblr thread bout mulan's drag name 'hua ping' being slang for a twink this is similar.
Another slang for gayness is cut sleeve (there's a whole ass story bout a gay emperor and his boyfriend) but anyways since Emily's arm was rotting away there, I thought it appropriate. (Tied in with that rip up to his thigh in the robe, I think you get the picture lol)
For anyone drawing a hanfu or traditional Chinese clothing in general, it's meant to be folded right over left (see red son for reference),the other way round is for the dead. And I thought that be a fun detail as well as the white robe being used for the dead as opposed to the red one for celebration
anyway that's all I can think of for now, I'm going to bed before I get yelled at :D

Alastor redesign!
Ive been seeing do many of these so i made alastor.
As much as i love him, his design is kinda simple for an overlord in my opinion but thats fine, basically wat Ive changed is the outfit, having him wear a dark grey shirt, with a red over coat thing. There are so MANY bows in the show so instead of a bow, he now has a skull themed tie. I thought itd be cool if hed trap all the souls he owns in his coat because it looks cool but also because its alastor of course hed show off all the souls he owns. I also made his antlers more prominent and have that patch deers have on their faces in his design just to make it extra clear he was a dear. Since vizie said he was meant to be black/ have black in his heritage, i tried to to make that clear in this design, since its not really noticeable in his actual design (this is my first time actually trying to make a black character so forgive me if its not that amazing im still learning, im open to constructive criticism) and apparently hes also supposed to practice voodoo so ive given him stitches something ive seen to be a common thing, i put them on his mouth and shirt (but correct me if im wrong, like i said im open to constructive criticism) also i made his cane extendable so it could be used as a desk mic or one of those long mics or just as a cane. I also gave him a moustache.
Sooo yea this is my redesign, fun to draw. im planning to update it soon since im not super happy with it but its a start, so if i dont forget ill post an updated version

Side Order Spoilers!!!
Okay does anyone else find it weird that Smollusk and Pearl referred to both DJ Octavio and Agent 4 as "big shots"?
And that Pearl says Agent 4 "was supposed to be such a big shot"??
And that even though pieces of their souls got sucked into the Memverse they canonically have not been seen after the events of Splatoon 2 and 3 respectively???
Knowing that characters were added to Tableturf after the DLC, namely, Pearl, Marina and Acht, I wouldn't be surprised if more characters are added later.
"But Octo, didn't Nintendo say there would only be two waves of DLC?"
Well, yes...but I have reason to believe otherwise.

First, when announcing the two waves of DLC, yellow and blue were used for the first and second waves, but despite there being four colors used for the announcement, red and green made no further appearance.
I'm sure if Nintendo really wanted to, they could have found a way to make just the yellow and blue look nice, but they specifically added those two colors. Red, I get, that's Big Man's color, even if they don't use it much in promotional material, but GREEN?
If Nintendo were to make more DLC, three waves WOULD make sense, considering the leitmotif of threes throughout the game. It's the third game, there's 3 idols, 3 forces united as one, 3 Splatfest teams to choose from, etc.
But that still doesn't explain the fourth color. It breaks the pattern of threes and uses a color that is barely anywhere among our cast of characters, besides Marie, DJ Octavio, and maybe Callie.
And then I thought...what if it's to give us a taste of the next game? Next IS Splatoon 4, so I wouldn't put it past them for a sneak peek.
My other, and more likely idea was that it would center around Agent 4, which kind of ties in with the weird wording used for both Octavio and them. Perhaps we'll finally get to see what they've been up to, maybe even teaming up with a certain DJ?
As for the third wave...I'm not too sure. I think it might have to do with Lil' Judd and Marigold, though.
As we collect scrolls in Alterna, we get tidbits of the other characters' lives and some info on the Splatoon world itself.
But something that stood out to me is when we get to Pearl and Marina's scroll.

It's their outfits from the DLC, clearly meant to foreshadow their next appearance. And right before that was a scroll for the Squid Sister's podcast (and that dried up squid), which lines up since their hub world was brought to the game in the first wave of DLC.
But after Pearl and Marina, it's Lil' Judd.

Which has not been brought up seriously in the main game.
That...that means nothing, right? I mean, more DLC hasn't even been announced, ha-ha!!

But then the next page is Marigold, with her many pictures crossed out, with multiple names to the same-ish face. It's secretive; does she have various clones, multiple siblings? What is she?
And then, there's also the concerning connection between her and Lil' Judd.
Marigold works at Grizzco, evidenced by her voice at the counter and her vocabulary. Lil' Judd...is in CHARGE of Grizzco now, majorly implied by the new inclusion of a headpiece on him after you finish fighting Mr. Grizz.
I think the third wave of DLC will be focusing on Lil' Judd's plans to get rid of Judd and will involve a further look into Marigold and how Grizzco operates.
I mean, we can't keep stealing Salmonid eggs forever, can we? Eventually they'll run out. This endless back and forth has resulted in Big Run's happening, so it's not out of the question that we get a resolution to this.
(I personally think Big Run will have its own version of an ending, one where whenever you play Salmon Run after it it's "in the past," so that it doesn't affect whatever the conclusion was. Otherwise, the Big Runs would likely just get worse.)
Maybe we'll get to be Neo 3 this time and learn more Salmonid lore with our Smallfry friend!!
Of course, most of these concepts are speculation, but I do want to show off one last piece of evidence that I think can be rather damning.

Another roped off barrier in front of the arch. Not just construction, like how Splatoon always sets up new places for the next game, no. It's a barrier, with a big empty space behind it.
I always thought it was so weird we weren't allowed to go over there, and now it seems so obvious to me what Splatoon has been implying.
I don't want to get my hopes up, or anyone else's, but I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to just move past these details and pretend like they're nothing.
What about you guys? Do you also think all of this is mighty suspicious? Do you have any theories regarding more waves of DLC, and what they could possibly be? Oh, and if you have more evidence for there being four waves, please feel free to tell me in the comments or through message. (I might not see the messages, though, because mine haven't been working that well, so mostly stick to comments and reblogs.)
Lastly, I did want to ask if anyone knows what the European version of the shop for the DLC means by “It’s possible that additional DLC, not listed above will also be distributed with the Expansion Pass.” I saw somebody mention it, I don't remember what post, but I was wondering if that was just a standard description for the European page or if it was just for this DLC. I'm in the US, and mine doesn't say that. If I'm completely wrong about this fact please tell me,,,

Cyberpunk! Bdubs and Impulse

So I had to look up lots of references to come up with these designs since I’m not at all use to drawing cyberpunk outfits. It’s actually a pretty cool type of fashion (with variations such as streetwear, video games, and runway)! There’s usually lots of loose layers (sometimes contrasted with tight layers), ponchos/rain gear, hoodies/coats, and geometric cuts of clothes +straps, pockets, gloves, and other accessories to cover the identity of the person. Of course there’s bits of technology/gadgets and neon pieces that are included and holographic things too. I definitely want to explore this aesthetic more in my art :3
As for Bdubs, he’s helping Impulse with the cyberpunk city but doesn’t have a skin for reference, so I tried to incorporate the white shirt, black pants, and mossy cape into his look + the digital clock on the sleeve and red elements as a nod to the red headband from other past skins
Impulse has a skin to work with, but I originally made a design without looking at references and wanted to redo it (also I realized I forgot his horns in the new design, so those are added below)

look at the difference! The first attempt felt less cohesive and clunky, but I did like the hologram tail tip and wings idea, so I’m using those for the future. I really like how his design turned out on the right, so that’s what I’ll be going with from now on (with minor adjustments maybe)

except I swear I’ve seen versions where they look for pointed like horns but for the life of me I couldn’t find a reference :/ (finding this is reminding me I need to watch neon genesis evangelion)
Also it seems like I will finally have to learn how to draw shoes :P they either are the star of the show or need to blend in with the outfit, and I’m not happy with my generic attempts at drawing them..
