#so possibly new favorite leveling dungeon now

this feels like a silly thing to ask but would you Recommend ff14. i havent played an MMO in a really long time and i tried 14 a Very Long Time Ago, so i might as well be new to it... it looks very pretty but also very Overwhelming
As someone whose first (and likely only) experience with an MMO is FF14 I actively recommend it if not for the story that its famous for, then it's the community that has been. so welcoming for new people imo
though if people arent your thing some of the game's dungeons and bosses can be done purely with NPCs. I emphasize some because a lot of the really good content will absolutely force you into being with real people. And let me tell you i did Not run with real people if i could avoid it at the start (hell i think all the way to the end of the base game? crystal tower forced me out of my shell anything for g'raha) but honestly queuing up for random roulettes is my favorite part now
the story can be so fucking good oh my god
I think the really nice thing is that you don't have to put any money into it to start it out. The free trial restricts a bunch of things (namely making viera & hrothgar characters, your level cap gets set to 70, and some of the jobs introduced in later expansions are off limits) but it makes up for it by giving you Unlimited Playtime and access to the entirety of the first two expansions
The little sprout next to your name when you start a new character indicates that you are New. people know what to expect, and if you need help a good chunk of people are fine explaining (this is in my experience. I've managed to dodge most of the possible toxicity lurking in the depths ヽ(´▽`)ノ )
Hell if you end up playing on the Crystal data center I'll even run with you if you ask
[My recs for starting classes if you're not sure are warrior, white mage, or dragoon depending on the role you wanna take. I'm heavily biased towards dragoon ofc, 5/8 of my characters run it. I can't personally vouch for warrior just yet, but i've seen it described as being able to turn your brain off at some points. while white mage is the healer class i like to run the most. you press button, you heal.]

Alcina flirts with reader but is already in a committed relationship angst part 2 Minors DNI 18+
Something about the change in Y/N’s behavior after their exchange with Alcina at the end of the last part made me curious. I want to explore their new dark motivations in this one. Y/N is not a good person in this and it’s pretty graphic, so discretion when reading this is advised. Read the first part here!
CW/TW: Explicit sex scenes, voyeurism, a whole lot of angst, and Y/N using people just to get what they want
You awake in immense pain and are sweating. You feel yourself being placed, rather gently, on the dirty dungeon floor. You groan in agony from the gash Cassandra inflicted on the back of your left leg.
The dark-haired woman in question leans over you and gives you a devious smirk. “What did you do to piss off mother so much?” She asks gleefully. Seeing her mother so outraged made her want to laugh. She had a… Complicated relationship with Alcina.
Cassandra was actually the favorite, but for all the wrong reasons. It was expected for her to be an apex predator ever since she was created. She always had the strongest prey drive out of her sisters and Alcina rode her hard.
Both she and Alcina took so much pride in her abilities, but… She wasn’t encouraged to pursue outside interests like her sisters. Her mother loved her, at least she tried to, but Cassandra was not dumb. She saw the way her mother interacted with Daniela and Bela… It was different than it was with her. Cassandra knew her mother only cared about what she could do for her.
You huff at Cassandra’s question, but feel a great satisfaction as you remember the tortured look Alcina gave you when you told her she would only ever be a disappointment. What happened to you? You had never delighted in bringing others pain, but… This castle had really changed you.
Something in you… Snapped back there. You can’t find it in yourself to even care. Your empathy is now completely gone. It’s freeing in a way.
This is who you are now and you want to wreak as much havoc on Alcina’s life as possible.
You begin thinking through your options. Your best bet of getting out of here and exacting your revenge is to get Cassandra to let her guard down. You were going to have to smooth talk her a bit.
Meanwhile, as you’re thinking, Cassandra kneels down to your level, still so eager to hear what happened. “Well…?” She prompts.
“It’s kind of a long story.” You say and grin up at the brunette.
Cassandra feels herself blush as you give her your most charming smile.
Cassandra had always been your favorite sister. She didn’t bug you like Daniela or nag you like Bela. She mostly kept to herself. And… She was drop-dead gorgeous.
Cassandra had actually been trying to get over her embarrassing attraction to you ever since you came to work at the castle. She has had a few one night stands before, but she’s never been infatuated with anybody. You are her first crush. You never complain, you are a very hard worker… And your eyes. They captivate her. For someone as on the go as she is, something about you makes her want to sit and just admire you for a bit.
“Hey… I know you have to do what your mom says, but… For what it’s worth… You have always been my favorite Dimitrescu.” You say, tugging her heartstrings a bit. It’s not a lie (Except for these last few weeks when you had been foolishly attracted to that ridiculous giantess), but you also really lay on the sugar as you say this. You know you should feel bad, but Cassandra is just a pawn in your rapidly evolving plan to royally fuck Alcina.
Cassandra lets out a shocked gasp at your confession. She can’t believe you liked her the most. “Really? T-thank you.” She says in surprise. Her need to be valued by someone is quickly overshadowing her sense of urgency to follow Alcina’s commands. She is supposed to torture you and kill you, but… She really just wants to spend some time with you.
Oh, poor baby. This was going to be a lot easier than you thought.
You gently grab Cassandra’s hand and give her knuckles a kiss.
Cassandra shudders and gasps in pleasure. She has never felt so warm and… Needy.
Suddenly, a thought hits you. Wouldn’t it be funny to sleep with Cassandra and piss Alcina off even more? She would be absolutely livid. Yes… Alright, new game plan.
You start placing even more kisses up the length of her arm, nipping a bit at her flesh as you go.
Cassandra whimpers in anticipation at the mind-numbing ecstasy you are causing.
You growl lustfully. You carefully stand up, trying not to hurt your injured leg, and pull the brunette up with you. Your wound is bleeding heavily, but you couldn’t care less about that right now. You have a job to do. “Hey, is there a table or a bench around here somewhere?” You ask in a husky voice.
——————————————————————————
Cassandra is beet red, but hurriedly leads you to an old examination table in one of the nasty cells.
It’s gross, but it will have to do.
You put your hands on Cassandra’s ass and grope roughly. Damn, she was hot. Maybe in another life you two could have been something…
Cassandra gasps at your sudden grip and feels herself coming undone. A new devotion in her mind and heart has just formed. A new allegiance. Not to Alcina… But to you. She is now completely under your spell.
You lift Cassandra up on the table and begin making out with her. You shove your tongue in her mouth and quickly begin to unzip her dress.
Cassandra softly whines at how eager you are. It makes her happy that you want her so much.
You finally get her dress off and begin pulling her panties down… The little vixen. She was wearing a black g-string and it was already soaked in her arousal.
You kiss your way down Cassandra’s stomach and begin prodding at her lower lips with your tongue. “So wet for me… Thank you, babe. I take that as a compliment.” You rasp out.
Cassandra throws her head back in pleasure as you penetrate her pussy with your fingers and begin rubbing her engorged clit with your thumb. “Yes, Y/N! Please take me!” She whispers loudly.
You finally begin thrusting into her with your hand and the delicious friction Cassandra is experiencing makes her feel like she’s on fire.
Her walls begin clenching around your fingers and you know she’s close. “Okay, babe. You can come.” You say, inching closer and closer to your plan. This was going to be good.
Cassandra suddenly shrieks and wails in pleasure as she comes all over your fingers. She’s a squirter… That’s actually pretty hot.
You grin. You had just bedded one of Alcina’s daughters. Alcina had been angered by your lack of reverence to her earlier, but… How’s this for disrespect, cow?
Your thoughts are brought back to the present by the beautiful woman in front of you.
Cassandra’s breathing is heavy as she wipes some sweaty hair out of her face. She looks at you with utter love and adoration. You have just become her entire world. “Y/N… Let’s get out of here. Let’s run away together… Just you and me, darling. Please, I can’t live here another minute…” She begs.
Your eyes widen at how quickly Cassandra has fallen for you. Damn, she is just as broken as you are.
You decide to capitalize on the progress you’ve just made with her. “Yeah, let’s get out of here.” You say, thinking of any other ways you can tear Alcina down.
Cassandra smiles and wraps her arms around you. “I knew you’d say yes! We’re going to be together forever!” She says, unaware of your dark intentions.
You roll your eyes at Cassandra’s misguided affection and awkwardly pat her back. “Yes, together forever.” You say, desperately trying not to let your sarcasm show.
“Actually… Before we go, would you mind getting my stuff from the servant’s quarters? You should grab the things you want to take as well. We’re never coming back here again.” You say.
Cassandra quickly nods and kisses you before swarming off.
This will make for a good distraction. You want to confront Alcina one last time and let her know what you’ve done. Honestly… You’ve realized that you don’t care if you die anymore. You just want to make her suffer by any means necessary. It was truly too good to look back and see how you had rattled her earlier. Shit, maybe you’ve always been a bad person? This is wicked.
You climb the staircase out of the dungeon and hobble through the castle to complete your mission. You just want to see the rage on Alcina’s face. It was going to be perfect.
You get odd looks from the other staff due to your disheveled appearance. The lady of the castle always demanded that staff be clean and presentable. Well, fuck her about that too.
You finally make it to the office that she and her nasty little tart were in earlier. The door is closed now, but you lean in close to the keyhole to listen for voices.
What you don’t expect is to hear lustful groans and sexually charged sighs. Are they fucking? That pervert probably got off on sending you to your “Death”.
You gently open the door and walk in quietly.
The scene before you makes you want to laugh. The head maid has her face pitifully shoved up against Alcina’s muff and is eating her out. She’s apparently not even a good lover judging by how Alcina needed to also plunge two fingers into her own vagina to get herself off.
You watch for a moment. The two don’t even know you’re here. You smile deviously.
Alcina reaches her climax and moans loudly in pleasure. She is smiling in satisfaction as her large chest heaves deeply. However, she turns her head to the side and finally spots you. Her eyes widen in shock.
You just smile and wave. “Hello.” You say quietly, having seen everything.

Hi, what is your favourite pokemon games ranking? If you'd like could you say why you like/dislike them? For example I like pokemon violet not really for the story or the battle mechanic, but because of how easy shiny hunting is
Ah, the hours I've spent playing pokemon games are finally useful. Caveat that some of the games it's been a hot minute since I've played them, so I'm going off memory here.
Also note that I'm just going by the general game, not which version of the release (e.g. Heart Gold, Soul Silver) or the specific color (Gold vs. Silver) or anything like that. We're also not doing the extra/spin-off titles like Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, Hey You Pikachu, or Arceus for that matter.
In order of favorite to least favorite.
Gold/Silver
This gets top slot if only because I remember it more than I do red/yellow/blue (which I played but was a little too young to fully appreciate at the time).
I frequently replay Heart Gold/Soul Silver.
To me this game is peak pokemon. We have puzzles that are actually challenging to solve and a thorough amount of them. The game is appropriately long where the Team Rocket shenanigans, the dungeons, the cave systems, everything takes time and there's always more left to explore.
There's also challenge in battling and catching pokemon I appreciate. Yes, Tentacool, Rattatta, and Pidgy are Poke-God's vermin upon this green earth, but there's something refreshing about being able to have to try to catch things and build your team. Similarly, we get a little boost in experience for one pokemon, but not the entire team as in later gens that gives some challenge in leveling up.
When I defeat the Elite Four it feels like I did something and I'm energized for the post-game content. Which, speaking of, the ability to go to Kanto during the post game to me was just amazing and blew my mind.
It felt as if the game went "here, you liked this? Have another equally good game, have fun."
It's also the last game where you get a rival who's just the worst to you. Silver is a legitimate criminal who commits pokemon theft (which in the pokemon universe is like the worst crime you can possibly commit). He appears at you out of nowhere at the most inconvenient moments and "nope, you don't get to heal your team, fight me now". I enjoy absolutely destroying his team each and every time in a way I just can't when the rival is your derpy childhood friend who's simply annoying.
Team Rocket are actual gangsters in this who are a worrying, corrupt, threat. Upon beating them, I do feel that I saved a lake from giant red mutant Gyrados, or a city from being brainwashed, or any of their very threatening schemes.
Getting the legendaries is a real challenge that you have to work hard to achieve and the story behind them, to me at least, is one of the more compelling ones.
Not to mention I just like the gen 2 pokemon designs, the introduction of the then new types, and all the starters.
God, I love Gold/Silver.
Yellow/Red/Blue
This may have made the top slot if I remembered it slightly better but what I do remember is a very solid game. Yes, we didn't have the diversity of types yet, there's some buggy things, it's the pixel graphics but it has great puzzles, the gyms are very difficult (Brock especially is a challenge if you don't have a Bulbasaur or Squirtle as your starter, a far cry from many of the other games where fire starter all the way baby), a small set of pokemon that's still interesting, and a fearsome Team Rocket.
The gyms were challenging, the Mew-Two subplot was interesting, and it did feel by the end of the game and all the shit you go through you really are a pokemon master.
Pokemon yellow was great in that it allowed you to get the other starters in game in a way that pokemon usually doesn't allow so you have reason to buy both sets of games tee hee. You had your pikachu walking around behind you (which as the first game that did this was very cool as a feature).
And then there's Gary, beautiful Gary, who is the world's biggest shit. He is the most annoying punk in the universe, who never knows what he's talking about, and it's so satisfying to punch him in the proverbial face every time you meet.
"Yes, Gary, I am good at this, please stop mocking me."
Gary to me is one of the best rivals in that while he's not as scary as Silver (who is... very mysteriously questionable in his morals), he's so annoying and purposefully so. You're supposed to hate him and you do.
Ruby/Sapphire
I still really enjoy Ruby and Sapphire and play it often. Again, some of the best puzzles in the series, great terrains to explore in terms of cave systems, the diving feature, mountains, and so on. Here we get the berry system that added a lot to the games, pokemon beauty competitions were new and fun and less annoying, and the scenery started to get very interesting (we got deserts, rainforests, the depths of the ocean, and more).
Team Rocket's slightly dumber in this version in that it's unclear why Team Aqua and Team Magma think their respective ideas are in any way good. Boys, I love land and the ocean too, I don't think we should destroy continents/boil the water. However, you do feel a threat from them and it's difficult to stop them at every turn. What I especially appreciate is we see their plans connect and culminate. You stop one thing and you learn they either got what they needed and they were just toying with you or else this was a plan B they were never that serious about.
As a result, as you go through the game beating gyms they feel like a real, present, and growing threat so that by the time you meet the legendary it feels appropriately legendary and fearsome (the near destruction of the final town was particularly well done).
Like Gold/Silver, this game I felt had really quality post game content and I loved beng able to go on the boat and further explore the ocean.
The Gen 3 pokemon introduce a lot of fun things including Spheal, the glorious Spheal, whom none of us should live without and also a lot of pokemon that speak to the new diversity of landscape in the game (we now have desert pokemon, rainforesty pokemon, seagulls, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES, and so on).
The tag team battle is an interesting dynamic here and well used and it's a solid game I return to a lot.
More, of the friendly rivals, I'm going to say that Wally and uh your friend's name who I forget are my favorites. We see a lot of growth from Wally as a character throughout the story that makes his constant need to fight and prove himself to you less annoying than most of the other rivals. He actually has a reason to be doing this. Your friend is obnoxious, in that he only shows up to annoyingly battle you and then leaves because he has better shit to do than talk to you, but I kind of like that he's annoying and that he clearly has some kind of inferiority complex going on. The guy has a reason to fight you all the time and be a complete brat about it and while not compelling as Wally and not as interestingly antagonistic as Gary/Silver, he's far from the worst.
Black/White
Black and White earns this spot on account of N and having an actual interesting Team Rocket story going on. N is the first (and only) time I can recall an in-universe character seriously debating the ethics of Pokemon battles. Should people in the Pokemon universe be using Pokemon to fight each other for profit? Should they 'own' Pokemon at all?
You find yourself having actual debates with N as his arguments are frightfully compelling and you as a character have to wonder what you're fighting for, what your relationship with your Pokemon is, and if N is right or not.
Of course, then you learn that N is being manipulated by gangsters who are summoning terrifying creatures, and that thus you were right all along but it doesn't change the fact that N's storyline is by far the one with the most depth and with it Team Rocket of the game's is the one with the most depth as well.
It's a compelling story.
It's also not too easy yet. It's easier than other gens, and I'm starting to become less of a fan of some of the pokemon introduced, but it's still a somewhat challenging game where your rival still has an interesting backstory and motivation and reason to fight you.
To me the world isn't as interesting as Ruby/Sapphire, Gold/Silver, or Red/Blue (not quite as interesting maps, I don't love the Pokemon as much) but it was a solid game and I'd play it again to refresh my memory.
Diamond/Pearl
And this is where we start our descent downwards into what Pokemon has become today.
It's telling that this one is actually hard for me to remember when I played Brilliant Diamond very recently.
I actually appreciate that this is one of the last games where we're still in Poke Japan as I find the Poke World thing that's been going on since... kind of gimmicky and very unnecessary. So, it's nice that Sinnoh hasn't really become that yet.
The game's starting to get a lot easier than previous games, your rival is now very forgettable and just kind of shows up to either a) annoy you with encouraging words then fight you anyway then tell you how amazing you are b) show up to annoy you.
Team Rocket... exists, they're not entirely stupid like later games but what they're up to doesn't feel that memorable either that I... welll... actually remember it.
To me this was just a really forgettable gen that added some interesting new pokemon but not enough to draw me back anytime soon to this game specifically. I would much rather play the ones listed above.
X/Y
Poke France, here we come. We now get a lot of features I just don't care about such as being able to accessorize my avatar.
It's not as bad as some of the later ones in terms of Team Rocket plot, but I was never entirely sure why we thought destroying the world was a good thing in the first place (versus earlier gens having just evil gangsters, hilarious environmentalists, or poor poor N).
I really liked the legendary design here and the end of the world did feel quite chilling when we got that far. The gyms weren't really memorable to me, nor were the pokemon introduced in the gen, and it's just a game that really starts to pale in comparison to the other gens.
It's not bad, not as bad as the ones below it, but this was a game I played and wondered if I should buy the next gen or not.
Scarlet/Violet
Previous thoughts on Scarlet/Violet.
This earns this spot for being less annoying than Sword/Shield and much better than Sun/Moon. That's it. That's why we're here. If this was all the Pokemon series had to offer I would never have bought another game.
The puzzles are virtually non-existent or laughably easy, because of how experience can be earned the game is ridiculously easy in terms of leveling up, gym battles, etc. Type matchups are no longer a problem as it's ridiculously easy to get powerful pokemon in any environment pretty damn early in the game.
The plot is hilarious but awful in that we get these three plotlines that are just... bad...
You have Nemona who just shows up to battle you then leave and wants you for a rival when she's already Champion because I guess everyone else sucks that hard. You have the plot line where you bully cosplaying nerds to get back to school because of a really hamfisted plot about abuse of power/bullying that is just begging me to feel something about Team Star (I do not), and Arvin's robo-dad who... am I supposed to like him? Am I supposed to think he was a good father deep down? The robo dad plot was the icing on the cake as it hinted at a better game: the game in which we work with the professor and Jurassic Park happens as he keeps summoning pokemon from the goddamn future like a lunatic (but of course we will not get that game in pokemon).
To make it seem like there's a lot to do, you have the Titans, the gyms, and the Team Star thing all happening at once but to accomodate them all happening at once they're all uninteresting/very easy if you're leveled appropriately.
While it's nice to be able to actually catch insanely powerful pokemon you never can otherwise (I actually got all Eevolutions, that never happens, along with a Gyrados, a Dragonite, a Blissey, a Hypno, and a whole bunch of Pokemon that are stupid hard to get usually) it also means that Gyrados are now the Rattatatta of the sea and building a team of gods is... really really really easy.
The open world is a nice thought, but I don't think it complemented the game in that it really did want you to be certain levels for things and there wasn't enough content to justify wandering around. Gotta have the interesting side quests if you want the open world.
I finished the game, saw there was post-game content in which I could... evaluate gyms or whatever I'm doing, and I happily logged off and went on to play Kirby instead.
That said, Pokemon is shifting towards a younger and younger audience (and perhaps rightfully so) and I can recognize that as someone's first serious game where they have to read and solve puzzles this is much less frustrating than previous gens were and perhaps what said audience is looking for.
And hey, I finally got a shiny for the first time in my life, so that's wild.
(I also thing tetralyzing or whatever is dumb, but it's less dumb than some of the others.)
Sword/Shield
Here because it's better than Sun/Moon but... that's really it.
This was like the trial run of open world in Pokemon in that you have the big open area in the middle. The thing is, that place is mostly just frustrating as even if you beat something more powerful than you, you won't be allowed to catch it because reasons.
Once again this game was so easy it became boring. I could switch out pokemon whenever I liked, They all gained ridiculous amounts of experience from battles, I could capture very powerful pokemon very easily int he open area. It took the challenge out of the game and for me the fun.
Add to that that this felt... really really gimmicky to me. The gym leaders went from forgettable to utterly insufferable, your pink rival who becomes adopted by a gym leader is no exception, Team Rocket is just an annoying group of die hard sports fans who won't leave this one girl and her Frakenstein Pikachu alone.
The whole game tries too hard to get me to like all the characters, that there are no bad characters, and it just makes it really hard to get through.
And then we have the even dumber version of tetralyzing: pokemon become real swol sometimes. They just... become really really big. And while I appreciate the graphics I just don't care.
(And I really don't care about the raid battles in general, I tried to do them for a bit as I thought they would be helpful, but the game was so easy I didn't need them and in the end I just found them annoying.)
As a result, I didn't even end up finishing. I couldn't do it. I asked myself why I was playing and then realized I wasn't having fun and moved onto a different game, I have not returned.
Sun/Moon
This one was just real bad all around.
I didn't get far into it but the gym battle system was actively obnoxious, the new gen pokemon weren't interesting, even the map itself just wasn't as fun as other games.
While the concept of the same pokemon having different types in different regions was a neat one, it wasn't enough to pull me into the game with everything else about it.
I got even less far into this than I did Sword/Shield.

I am on a bus for 90 more minutes and have nothing better to do so I’m just gonna put expanded thoughts under the cut. Read as much or as little as you care to. I haven’t played a lot of these since I was like 12 or 13 so take this with a grain of salt.
S Tier
Majora’s Mask is the pinnacle of what the original Zelda formula can do and one of my favorite games of all time on simply a conceptual level. From the 3 day time loop to the masks to the focus on side quests that actually have interesting stories (something the series struggles with), it comes together in a way no other game in this series does for me. I think it’s got the only story in the series to genuinely emotionally impact me when I first played it, which granted I was also 12 then and haven’t read through the script in a long time but I still think that says something. I know the game’s not for everybody but it’s my favorite in this series and one of my favorite games period.
Oracle of Ages takes the best part of Zelda dungeons and makes a whole game out of it. It’s basically a puzzle game with a Zelda skin, and they take that concept to its limits. Probably has the most fun overworld to traverse of any game in the series (at least of the 2D games) and easily the best 2D dungeons. Other than TOTK this is the game I’ve played most recently so there’s some recency bias here too but in terms of pure 2D Zelda gameplay it really doesn’t get better than this.
Twilight Princess was the first game in this series I beat and easily my favorite iteration of the Link to the Past/Ocarina of Time game flow. Love the atmosphere, love the dungeons, Midna is great… it really is basically Ocarina of Time 2.0 so I get why it’s not everybody’s thing but I personally think it’s basically Ocarina If It Were Good. Lmao!
Tears of the Kingdom is very new and I haven’t beaten it, so this is very subject to change. But as of now it takes the winning formula of Breath of the Wild and puts in actually interesting non-exploration based gameplay mechanics, so I don’t think it’s going to lose its luster as much once I finish the game. Either way I’m absolutely addicted to the game, it’s extremely hard to put down which is a huge plus since it’s harder than ever for me to focus on playing and beating video games nowadays lol.
A Tier
Minish Cap is just very charming. I love being able to turn small and what that does for world traversal, the game is gorgeous and easily the best looking 2D game in the series, and it’s just easy to pick up and play. Has a lot of small issues that keep it out of S tier (sometimes progression is too vague, the world is pretty small, dungeons really aren’t great outside of the Palace of Winds) but still. Very cute game, I like it a lot.
Breath of the Wild has incredible exploration based gameplay and basically nothing else. Honestly for the longest time I would’ve had it in S tier since the exploration was truly that good, but sadly Tears of the Kingdom exists now and effectively outclasses this game in every way. Still love this game though, and it’s legacy is actually kind of astounding.
A Link To The Past is shockingly great. It’s a little jank to play nowadays but still, they got a lot right considering it was more or less the game that standardized almost everything about the series (until Breath of the Wild at least). Just a fun, fast paced experience that feels like Zelda purified down to its bare essentials, and I mean that in the best way possible.
B Tier
Skyward Sword feels like a 3D Oracle of Ages in that the majority of it feels like dungeon content, which is also its strongest aspect. It has major pacing issues which kind of cripple it (also because a lot of the content in the sky is basically worthless), but when it’s at its best it’s honestly fantastic. I’d probably say this game has the overall best 3D dungeons in the series? Yeah that sounds about right.
Oracle of Seasons is the action/combat based counterpart to Oracle of Ages, and I’d say it’s executed about the same in terms of what they’re going for, it just means the game doesn’t stand out nearly to the degree that Ages does. Still a fun game, and has some great moments, but it’s hard not to compare it to its counterpart which I think is significantly better.
A Link Between Worlds is a solid reimagining of A Link To The Past that felt like they were testing the waters for bringing Zelda back in a truly open direction, and it mostly succeeds for me, but something about it just doesn’t work as much for me the way ALttP does. I think it’s a combination of the art style not being my favorite + the dungeons feeling more quantity over quality? It’s hard to say. Still a solid game though!
Link’s Awakening is the Gameboy Zelda that is the most interesting in terms of its setting and writing and least interesting to actually play. It’s not even a problem with it’s age because I had the same feeling even playing the remake where I just wished I was playing one of the Oracle games instead. I do get why this is a lot of people’s favorite! And it is pretty fun for what it is. But it’s not necessarily for me.
Four Swords is a game I have almost no memory of, other than I played it with my sister years ago and we had a good time. I couldn’t tell you a damn thing about it’s design or what it did right or wrong, just that it was short, sweet, and I enjoyed the time I spent with my sister. Which, you know what, I think that’s a win for the game.
Triforce Heroes is also good fun multiplayer content, and I remember having a lot of good times with it as well. I think it’s hurt by being in the Link Between Worlds style and also because you’re forced to play with three players, which is very hard to do nowadays. Also the single player sucks, I honestly think it was barely even worth adding in. But the memories I have playing this game with friends when it was new are very sweet, also there’s a lot of fun LP content of this game on Youtube I greatly enjoyed.
C Tier
Ocarina of Time is the most important game in the series and one of the most beloved games of all time. But man it is a chore to play in 2023. It’s very slow, basically none of the first half of the game is fun, and many games that came after did essentially the same thing but better. But hey, the adult dungeons are generally pretty good, and it gets major props from me for influence.
Wind Waker is extremely fun once you get the swift sail and the entire sea opens up to you. Until you get to that point it honestly kind of sucks. The dungeons in this game are probably as bad as it gets (minus the Earth and Wind Temples which are both great), and you’re so railroaded at first that even it’s greatest claim to fame doesn’t even get to shine until hours and hours into the experience. For what it’s worth though, it does get a lot better later on. It only takes like, ten shitty hours of a 20 hour game to get to that point.
Phantom Hourglass is another game I have almost no memory of, I just remember it was probably the game in the series lacking the most flavor. It gets points for novelty with the touch screen and isn’t awful to play, but it really doesn’t have a lot of high points (plus the Temple of the Ocean King is very very bad). It’s basically the Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon of the Zelda series, it’s on the DS and everything.
D Tier
The Legend of Zelda (OG) kickstarted the series and was quite ambitious for the time. Unfortunately it is an NES game. And playing it feels like eating bricks. I don’t actually think I beat the game as a kid, just got to like the second to last dungeon? Either way I feel no need to go back to it. It serves its purpose in history but I would rather play every other game in the series instead of it.
I haven’t played the rest (at least not substantially), but I do plan to play Four Swords Adventure soon since Dolphin now works in tandem with MGBA which means I can actually play this multiplayer now. I don’t know if I’ll ever play Spirit Tracks cuz it’s a gimmicky DS game that I can’t imagine would work emulated, and I’m not shelling out hundreds of dollars for a Phantom Hourglass sequel. I’ve played some of Zelda 2 at some point but not nearly enough to have a solid opinion on it. Game looks cool though! Maybe I’ll play more of it one day.

So I've been playing Palworld and it's scratched that itch I had back when Ark was also new and wonky as all hell. I love finding wonky shit that will be patched soon enough that I otherwise would never had seen if it was a polished game already. That's not the point. The point is the day I reached 365 in-game days on my character, I was taken to Hell and God spoke to me.
This is a somewhat long tale because I can't seem to tell a story without lots of details but ehh.
Now I know it wasn't intended as such but I know what I know man. See I'm all about breaking games. I enjoy speed running and clipping objects, and let me tell you about unintended files stored as magic boxes behind a fireplace in Skyrim! Naturally then, I have used some less than authentic things in the year.
Have I maybe held a conversation about the pros and cons between two Chikipi in the inventory of a Black Marketeer while my Quivern roasted him alive in the background so I could loot his corpse of 35k gold? Perhaps.
Have I ever intentionally instigated a riot in one of the only civilized parts of this island of nightmares? Have I led that bloodthirsty mob then against the leaders of the cults and/or organizations that control the island with the intent of forcing their leaders and their partner creature into a sphere thanks to an exploit allowing me to catch them? It's possible.
But no, instead me and Immortal the Shadowbeak decided to visit his home realm. See I was doing the now-known trick of butchering a pal and then riding them to prevent them from dying. Didn't realize how it worked, really, i just knew to try riding him during the second loop of the animation. I'd discovered this from dropping the controller in a panic as my cat made a mad dash and knocked over my coffee.
I figured out the rhythm of it. I was killing and harvesting this beast endlessly! It refused to stay dead under my guiding hand. Sure it was eternally blurred out with that pixil-y cloud, but that's because we should not gaze directly upon the divine, as this death transcendent hippogriff clearly was. I explain this in a sleep deprived mania to my roommate. They suggest a nap. I disagree. Another coffee means I can continue the immortal butchering.
Then we Fell the first time. I'm no stranger to being out of bounds in a game mind you. Hell my favorite mining route meant clipping through a mountain in another game. This is Fine™ so I land in the water under the map. Recall people saying online that the dungeons and whatnot are just hidden pockets under the world. Maybe that's where I was? Didn't care. Immortal Shadowbeak was there with me still. I continued the butchering unimpeded. Must get technology books for unlocking more shelves.
Over time I have repeatedly entered the Undersea. Sometimes its from exploring, but no, I have a Rushoar and he is called Sæhrímnir and he will take me to the Undersea every time. No matter what. Every other Immortal has regenerated every reload of the save and lost their pixel cloud, but remains censored to this day. But a man needs bacon for his eggs so I butcher him like his namesake to feed the people.
Now, like every good casserole recipe, the backstory is finally set, so onto the tale. On the day of my character's 365th day I rolled out of my bed and walked out of my keep. I did a full tour, remembering my tiny three walls and a roof to how far I'd come with my Pals. It'd been a long year, but I decided a feast! We must celebrate! Not just me and my party, but all of us shall enjoy Sæhrímnir! No salads for breaks today!
So me and Sæhrímnir get into position on the Bloodstone. I'd read having one stone foundation away from everything helped with not falling through the ground and while it worked for everyone else, Sæhrímnir is more Divine and thus immune to that so once again I'm riding his not-a-corpse down to the Undersea. I figure I need more meat to fill everyone, what with food level 7s everywhere, so i continue meat making.
Sæhrímnir decided I'd been flaunting his immortality I guess because later at the party he suddenly burst from his palsphere and I was like "Weird, but okay" and decided I'd try "petting him and calming him down" before tossing him back into the sphere. I was still holding the butcher knife I guess and started disembowling him on the table in the center of the picnic area in front of everyone. Only the Immortals knew what they were, having been killed at the Bloodstone far from the eyes of the rest, and now they knew.
But I wasn't gonna let Sæhrímnir die, so I went through the rituals the same as always and down to the Undersea we went. I prepare to go back to base via the keep inventory option in conjunction with the die and respawn button in the menu. It's routine at this point.
"Come" I hear an older man and younger woman say at the same time. I just happened to be looking at Sæhrímnir, about to return him to his sphere. His pixilation ended at that one word and then we started falling through the Undersea. In that short fall, I wondered if we'd fallen somehow into one of those dungeon pockets. As we landed I knew this was truly not somewhere I was supposed to be.
See, the grass was much more gray than green, but there was grass and ground under my feet in every direction I could see. The issue was, I could not see that far, only about five to ten feet through the thick white mist that was static and yet animated. No wait, that part just moved, but the smoke texture wasn't animated. I cautiously begin moving through the mist, careful that the ground may end yet again. Try finding Sæhrímnir, but he's gone. My palspheres aren't working, my character not even trying to throw an empty hand.
On the side of the screen, I see my character has eaten another plate of bacon an eggs. I'm still alive and eating, so that's a bonus. Means this isn't unsalvagable, but curiosity has me. I check and I have all my weapons. The firearms shoot into the White Void and my ammo count went down, so they work. I reload and set off further and faster into the mist.
Even fully sprinting there's nothing but knee high gray grass and flowers and the mist that is everywhere. I opened the map and it says I haven't left my base. I know I've been running in the mist for easily five minutes. I encounter a tree. It's texture is on inside out and is more or less just a mass of spiky vectors in a dead tree shape. I continue. Minutes pass, more trees appearing in the fog. I saw a pal fragment node but it vanished as I approached.
eventually as I get bored, I notice the day is about to end and I consider respawning and going back. The Sun turns into a Moon in the dial and I hear a crashing sound like a felled tree. Everything flashes and the grass is suddenly green, but the mist is turning black like ink. Horror movie vibes as hell. I'm rooted in place watching this glitch and needing to know how it ends.
The double-voice says something again, but they're no longer saying the same thing. Too brief to comprehend what it was. Haywire audio files, no big thing. Happens a lot. Sæhrímnir then appears, or perhaps another boar like him. It squeals and does its death animation as the fog finishes becoming black. Night must've finished falling in the Overworld---
Lights start coming to life around me, brightening and dimming slowly. Lifmunk Statue green and data log/fast travel blue lights started pulsing in the void. I made the mistake of trying to run to one. The camera spins as I start running. Moving is controlling the camera now and the camera is moving the character now. No problem, lemme just unlearn decades of gaming muscle memory real quick.
"COME" the Twin Voices cried suddenly, static accompanying the word. Feel backdoor room vibes and get goosebumps. My nerves are suddenly both taught and shot at the same time. My character has fallen into the distortion world ffs. Time to abort. I select Respawn in the menu. My character doesn't die. Try several more times to no avail. Try double jumping and my Galeclaw still refuses to answer my summons. Palspheres are still not working.
As I get the idea to just hard-close out the game, the sun begins to rise. Like a disney movie, rays of gold and orange shoot through the black and dispel it....why are the rays of light twisting? They start bending around and twisting around invisible objects my character doesn't collide with. Wait, that thing over there kind of looks like part of the assembly machine---
The entire screen suddenly turns white and I hear a sound like a dozen digital demons as the game crashes. I reboot the game and I'm standing in the middle of the party, still in full swing around 4 in the afternoon on the 365th day. Nevermind my night going through the Shadowrealms like I'm mfing Ra crossing the Duat. Nevermind that I saw beyond the veil as many Islanders wish for and I found only horrors.
I prepare to log out when I check my party. Sæhrímnir is gone. He never returned with me.
The Immortal Pal Experiments have been halted at this time.

Favorite things about TotK so far
The Yiga Clan continuing to be Team Rocket style villains. They've turned it up to 11 now and are impersonating talking cuccos and pretending to have a 'regal friend who definitely needs blonde men to go ridiculously out of their way to help her'. They are trying so hard to catch Link like a Pikachu and are entirely incompetent at it.
Link being the in-universe version of Tony Hawk. People who know him recognize him but everyone else is just like 'hey, you're named Link and kinda match the description of a famous swordsman by that name, isn't that a funny coincidence?' and Link seems to be going 'yeah, weird, happens all the time'. Which he probably appreciates since he doesn't seem the type to enjoy fame.
My horsies from Breath of the Wild are available for me to check out of the stables like an inter-library lone.
Building stuff with both the fuse and the ultrahand abilities. I can make ridiculous weapons and bizarre contraptions. But I really need a bigger battery capacity for some of my vehicle plans. (I'll get there)
The reintroduction of the Sages. I've only scratched the surface of that, but it does seem that the Sages are back in some capacity and possibly calling out to their successors.
The Fire Temple. It's in the depths, the creepy new underground opened up for the exploration, and it's got several levels to cover. It's a mine cart maze and I'm enjoying figuring it. I've got 3 of 5 gongs rung and need to make more depths specific recovery items before I head back down to finish it up. It's still not as complicated as pre-BotW dungeons, but it does capture the feel of a Zelda dungeon better than the BotW's fire dungeon so I'm pretty pleased.
Speaking of the depths, they are creepy in a fun and fascinating way. I've already found the Fire Temple and the remains of the old Eldin mines (and a bunch of statues). What else is hiding in the dark? Cannot wait to find out
Those guys hanging out at the goron region's stable who most likely misheard Zelda say 'independence' as 'in underpants' and are now running around in their underwear. They're hilarious.
The caretaker robots who have developed fun personalities in the thousands of years they've been active and alone. Some are helpful, others snooty, some sarcastic...
Purah continuing to be a complete nerd. My aro headcanons for her abound. She's cannibalized the Shiekah tech into her Purah towers, Purah Pads, and various other tech. While, yeah, it bugs me that we're not seeing the remains of the old shrines and towers from BotW, it makes sense that the only remaining tech that's important is what Purah (and Robbie) have reinvented so that's all we see of it. And the towers Purah made are clearly made up of relocated towers from BotW, so there is that. (and having the old shrines hanging around with all the new shrines might've gotten confusing, I suppose...)
The new item system that allows for attaching things to arrows or throwing them in place of weapons. Was it easier to just pick an arrow type in BotW? Well... yes. But it's so much more fun to attach stuff to arrows and shoot them.
My new journalist Rito friend who watches Link fight the Yiga and knows Link is searching for Zelda, but still lands firmly in the 'could not identify Tony Hawk on site' crowd.
The Great Fairies + Malanya have moved locations and are now demanding things other than money to open up their giant flower buds and help. The world has gotten scarier, money alone ain't gonna cut it compared to food and music.

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!! So, I've been playing Persona 3 Reload and having a ball with it but it got me thinking. Why haven't I written posts about my two favorite JRPGs ever made? Let’s half fix that, shall we. I first played the fourth entry in the popular Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series on a PS3 one summer in college after seeing how awesome the fighting game was and I was far from disappointed. The gameplay loop of interacting with a cast of memorable characters, using those interactions to fuel the creation of summonable monsters based on world mythology and then taking said monsters into dungeons based on the psychologies of said characters hooked me harder than Mike Tyson wearing boxing gloves made of titanium. Then, it proceeded to punch me in the gut harder than that same metaphor already did. So many scenes of both the joyful and the sorrowful right to the very end stick with me to this very day (and I’m not going to spoil any of them). Being wrapped up in an extremely compelling supernatural murder mystery was just icing on the severely bludgeoned cake. Then I played the Golden version (on the PS Vita no less) which was an outright improvement to everything in the original. More compelling content, many balance tweaks, new ways to hang out with one of the best parties in any JRPG and most importantly, a revamped Shuffle Time that somehow made grinding all my party members to max level and turning my starter persona into a late-game juggernaut fun as all heck. I didn’t even think that was possible. Oh, now it’s on more platforms than just the PS Vita? Play this game! You have no excuse. You’ve played it before? Play it again! Persona 3 Reload is out? Ok, you should probably play that first. You don’t feel like it? Ok, that’s a decent excuse but you should really play Persona 4 Golden. It’s without a doubt wonderful. P.S. For the record, Rise is best girl, Kanji is best boi, Adachi is best cabbage, Izanagi is best persona, Heartbeat, Heartbreak is best town theme, The Almighty is best boss theme, Pursuing My True Self is best opening theme, and every day is great at your Junes. I have no regrets.

And now the big one. The first two as a set seemed like a good deal and worth trying, this one had me excited. It was a hunt to find it too! Even had some high drama for my young self. I think my brother stole some of the money I set aside for it, but I had enough spare change to make up for it. Nintendo Power mad the GBC rerelease look so cool, I could be a girl hero and there's a personality system that affects your stats? A human board game?
Now you're a party of four and aside from the main hero's special class you get to pick the other three! Leading to one of my favorite aspects of early Dragon Quest. The simple, elegant brilliance of its multiclassing system. You can start a character over at level 1 in a new class, with half stats and all spells/skills retained. A warrior who can double up on the handful of key buff spells. A speedy cleric. Making an absolute physical juggernaut out of the dealer/fighter. It's all possible and never that complex to get what you want.
Picking up from the first installment, this series may be simple compared to other RPGs but it is tight. As long as you are using your head a little, you can do wildly different strategies and they will all work. Maybe Dragon Quest games never have the massive spell lists counterparts like Final Fantasy do...but you know how those often have a couple dozen you never really use except once? That's not true in DQ. Most bosses will be susceptible to a status ailment or at least lowering their stats and the latter does it enough to be relevant. It might just be playing with numbers, and it's impossible to truly get without playing, but the design makes these boss fights have so much more of an exciting flow to me than more graphically impressive contemporaries and honestly what will follow for many years.
When you have rock solid mechanics like that, the game writes it's own stories. Like...last time I played a couple years ago I had a lark naming my party Kiku/Neko/Inu/Kawa(matsu). One dungeon that's never been iconic to me or anything took on new life as Kawamatsu was the sole survivor of the boss fight. Which meant my quick exit mage was dead. So Kawamatsu had to make a harrowing escape and it sticks with you. Or using my hero being Kiku as an excuse to try the Noh Mask exploit in the hero's solo dungeon. Now I'm going to say a word on the main story and the iconic twist, I'll hide for those who may want to try these.
I got to play these as a kid perfectly unaware of one of the most legendary twists in gaming. It blew my mind to finally beat Baramos and have more game left ahead...in Tantagel no less. Then we finally beat the real demon king Zoma only to find out I was Loto the entire time. This was a prequel, not a sequel. Which made the fact the world we started in reminded me so much of Earth even cooler!
That plus the legitimately good drama around the search for Ortega. It gets me when you come so close to a happy reunion only to have that dashed. What if you had been just a little quicker? Zoma was scary too if you're unprepared. Dragon Quest makes good use of buff spells and they're the golden strategy in this installment. So that iconic debut of the Icy Pulse ability that wipes them is backbreaking. Also love the Divine Dragon stuff in the post game for the remake. They went all out on that GBC re-release to a degree you didn't often see in those days.

Top Ten Favorite Legend of Zelda Games
Since I'm huge Legend of Zelda fan, I decided to do my personal top ten Legend of Zelda games. I'll even briefly go into why. Some quick rules on this. Some are the same from my last top ten. In fact, most are. If it's basically the same game with a different name, with no real gameplay differences, it'll be considered the same level. I must have at least played the game, though finishing is not required, as I sometimes have trouble finishing games like this due to my playstyle frequently getting me killed. I will do another honorable mentions, and I may even eventually talk about the game that isn't making even the honorable mentions that I've played. No, Zelda 1, 2, and 3 will not be making this list as I've never played them.
10. Oracle of Season/Ages It's basically the same game, but one has time travel. You're saving either Nayru or Din, and defeating the badguy. I think one's supposed to come after the other and the two complement each other some how, but they're still basically the same game. And it's really easy to accidently do something wrong and make the game unplayable without starting over.
9. Minish Cap. There's a reason this game made it this low. Despite it being actually a fun game with a fun concept, there's Ezlo, the cursed mage/person that will be Link's very annoying hat for the whole game. Ezlo is supposed to be your Navi of the game. He's supposed to give helpful hints, but he doesn't. Instead he says the same stuff over and over and over like "go to this area." And you go to the area and all he says is to go to the area. So no real clues on what to do. Ugh.
8. Majora's Mask. So before I get a ton of hate on the placement of this game, it has nothing to do with the graphics. I tend to greatly dislike games with time crunches, so the three day time limit always stressed me out, even though I could rewind whenever I wanted. I was always afraid that I wasn't going to get to where I needed to go and get even one area done in three days.
7. Twilight Princess. This is another good game with lots of good game play, but while I really like it, I like other games more. Actually, I think if not for the occasionally really dark colors, it would be a lot more enjoyable. But it's really dark, even in Hyrule proper.
6. Skyward Sword. So this game, I actually debated putting higher because the story is amazing, the graphics are incredible, the music is wonderful, and the friendship between Link and Zelda is very believable, unlike Minish Cap where Zelda just kinda declares us friends and we just kinda go along with it. Unfortunately, while I tend ot like Fi, I agree she can be extremely annoying. Add to that inconsistent controls, and difficulty aiming, and you can see why the game made it so low.
5. Link Between Worlds. Alright, you could argue that Link to the past also goes here, because it's kinda the same idea, just one Link travels between worlds and the other travels through time. However, while they seem to have a similar idea, I'm not sure I'd agree that they're basically the same game with a different play style. For one thing, there seems to be a new villain intent on releasing Gannon. Though he claims he only seeks beauty. The other world is an alternate reality of Hyrule called Lorule where everything is opposite of Hyrule. Everyone's unpleasant, the hero is a coward and they have no Triforce, so their world is falling apart and losing hope. Ravio is a fun character, and his shop makes it possible to take on the dungeons for the princesses in whatever order you want, though his stuff is super expensive, even to rent. I highly recommend you buy ASAP.
4. Ocarina of Time. This is the first Legend of Zelda game I ever played. And when I was very young (I think 10 or so) I could not get past Goma, the spider boss of the Deku tree. Yeah, seriously. Now, I can beat the game no problem. The updaged graphics in the 3DS version are actually much more appealing, the music is good, and it's just a good game. You feel close to most, if not all the major side characters and truly dislike Gannondorf, like a proper villain.
3. Breath of the Wild. This is the most recent Legend of Zelda game, aside from the Warriors games. The graphics are beautiful, and the world is fun to explore. The main reason it's not higher is the weapons and shields. They all break, and you can only carry so many. Heck, even the Master Sword can break if you use it against what the game classifies as the "wrong enemies" though in the case of the Master Sword breakage isn't permanent, it just needs to recharge then it's back. But it is a bit ridiculous that the most iconic sword of the Legend of Zelda franchise can break. Everything else? Sure, as long as some of the stronger swords take longer.
2. Wind Waker. This game is gorgeous. I mean, for an obviously cell shaded games. The story is really good and sailing the seas is SO much fun. The music is wonderful. It's too bad the final boss is so hard to beat
Now before I reveal the top Legend of Zelda game, here are the honorable mentions. Link to the Past, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks.
Link's Awakening. Yes, it's just a dream, but that's the point of the game. And honestly the updated release for the Switch was so much fun. It really played into the dream aspect with the characters looking like toys rather than real people, the edges of the screen being slightly blurry, and it really makes you feel bad for doing what you're doing. I love this game, becasue it really makes you feel the consequenses of your actions. Throughout the game, the enemies are constantly telling you that if you wake the Wind Fish, which is the only way to escape the island, you will destroy the island and kill everyone living there. Monsters will include you, as they seem to believe you are a figment of the Wind Fish's imagination. You have a choice here. Keep playing and destroy everything on this island, including the poeple you met here, or don't and be stuck on the island in a dream. The ending is really heartbreaking too. This is one game where I really don't blame the monsters at all. This is their home, and they know they'll effectively die when the Wind Fish wakes up. No wonder they're all unhappy when you come to wake it up.

#Is cube world free to play Pc
Where can you run this program?įor now, Cube World can only run on a Windows PC or laptop. This is somewhat countered by Cube World's active and vibrant player community, but gamers who are hoping to feel like they're part of a living and changing game world may be disappointed. It has been known to go for months and even years at a time without receiving updates. The game has gained a fair bit of infamy for long periods of silence from the development team. Players who have the ability to make their own entertainment will find it in Cube World, but those who prefer a more guided game experience will find themselves frustrated at the lack of structure and repetitive experience.Ĭube World's players will also have to learn to hold their breath if they're hoping for updates. For a game world that holds so much promise, it feels like a letdown. Though these quests can be fun raids when accompanied by a few friends in the game’s multiplayer mode, playing them solo can feel repetitive. You'll often find yourself repeating the same basic formula: head to a fortress, kill some bad guys, beat a boss, and repeat. The game's missions are bare-bones and encompass several variations on a handful of cookie-cutter style quests. It's easy to spend hours getting lost in Cube World's seemingly endless opportunities for combat and exploration.ĭespite the game's vast and lush worlds, it does tend to feel rather empty at times. Though crafting elements are present, they take much more of a backseat here than in Minecraft. Players are able to visit towns and cities to trade equipment in shops, tame wild animals as pets, and travel around in a variety of different vehicles.
#Is cube world free to play full
Each of these unique worlds is packed full of features. Since worlds are created using seed values, players can also share their favorite worlds on the internet, which can come in handy if you’re looking for worlds that contain good equipment and loot. The game features several vast, procedurally generated game worlds with different biomes ranging from Grasslands to Desert. Cube World puts the focus squarely on combat and exploration, and the game delivers plenty of both. Though the game has a blocky visual style similar to Minecraft, that's where the similarities end. These customizable combinations will let you play the game exactly how you want.Ĭube World's creators have cited retro classics such as The Legend of Zelda as major parts of Cube World's DNA, and that influence shows in gameplay. Those who prefer a stealthier approach can select a Rogue with a Ninja specialization, and so on. Players that prefer ranged combat can select a Ranger with a Sniper specialization. Each of the game's four classes has two sub-categories that will let you tweak your combat style to your liking, and allow for more than a few unique combinations and possibilities. Though races don't do much aside from changing your character's appearance, selecting your class is where the real fun begins. There, you'll select a race from an extensive list of typical fantasy options ranging from Elf to Dwarf and even Frogmen. Play solo singleplayer or join your friends in coop-online-multiplayer.The game starts by jumping into a surprisingly charming character creator.Find magic items to enter secret areas and to support you on your journey.Use your hang glider to take to the skies or explore the oceans with your boat.Cube World's unique per-land progression system makes finding loot, solving quests and clearing dungeons rewarding and exciting over and over again.Earn gold to buy items or to book an eagle flight to new lands.Retrieve unique magic artifacts to level up and improve your skills.Discover procedurally generated lore and learn about ancient civilizations and magic artifacts.Solve quests, help residents, fight huge monsters, explore ancient dungeons! It's all up to you! Tame pets that fight along your side and can be used as mounts.Craft weapons, armor, potions, elixirs and food and more from ingredients found throughout the world.Scroll and zoom everywhere to find your next destination! Plan your next adventure with the 3D voxel world map.Explore a nearly infinite, procedurally generated fantasy world.Action-based combat with dodging, aiming, combos, special skills and more.Choose between four different classes: Warrior, Ranger, Mage, Rogue. It takes place in a procedurally generated fantasy world made up entirely of cubes. Cube World is a voxel-based action RPG with a focus on exploration.

The most anticipated Skyrim mods in devleopment in | PC Gamer
Tumblr media
💾 ►►► DOWNLOAD FILE 🔥🔥🔥 If the core game and official DLC downloads don't keep you busy, this list of fan made mods will leave your friends wondering where you went. All of these mods are bug-free, cost-free , lore-friendly and vouched for as the most expansive mods on the market to date! The list starts off with an old and beloved Skyrim mod, Falskaar. Within the ruins of Mzubthand you will find a year-old portal which will transport you to the giant land known as Falskaar. No longer can you shout your way into fame and stardom; in Falskaar, you are figure known to the Nords as "The Traveler". The original mod was added as early as and updated as recently as March Despite massive acclaim, bug fixes are still added continuously to ensure the smoothest gaming experience possible. Falskaar is truly a spectacular mod for Skyrim fans everywhere, so go ahead and enjoy it if you haven't already. Download: Falskaar MB. You'll rarely find a fan-made undertaking as impressive as the Wyrmstooth mod for Skyrim. A long-time favorite for Skyrim modders, Wyrmstooth asks that you undertake the quest of killing a dragon. Simple as it may sound, solving this issue may take a little longer than the typical dragon battle. You'll need to be level 10 before the quest line for Wyrmstooth activates. Once you reach level 10, the Greybeards will summon you through a courtier named Theodyn Bienne. The task seems simple; slay a dragon who's been causing a bit of trouble. From trade routes to conquest, this mod takes you on twists and turns. It also includes one of the greatest boss fights available in the game. You'll have to see it for yourself, but trust me when I say it's worth the run. Hint: there's lightning, thunder and a zombie uprising. A huge boss fight is just one of the reasons this mod is so beloved by users. A giant dungeon, a mind-control quest along with approximately 30 other quest lines, hours of excellently-voiced NPCs and one of the greatest boss fights you'll ever experience await you with this mod. If you enjoy dragon-slaying but Alduin just didn't cut it, download Wyrmstooth. Download: Wyrmstooth MB. Sea of Ghosts , available only in the Steam Workshop , creates a great quest line and playable area from the already present Sea of Ghosts region of Skyrim. For the most part, Skyrim 's shores aren't very lively with action and questing. Although the game file isn't particularly large, the fact that this mod provides you with a beach side property available for purchase, newly-voiced NPCs and a great dungeon makes Sea of Ghosts a definite must. Travel to this hectic region with The Winter's Warmth crew and explore newly-uncovered regions. It doesn't stop there. After all, sometimes you want to be a pirate. Adding to this mod, the popular The Pirates of Skyrim: The Northern Cardinal Under the Black Flag will create a playable experience out of the very seas you once avoided by making naval battles and treasure hunts viable options in Skyrim. These two modding options not only expand the playable area in Skyrim but deepen the experience as well. Now that we've covered the sea floor, it's time to discover the underground depths of Skyrim. The Wheels of Lull is yet another attempt to create an expansive and highly lore-friendly addition to the world of Skyrim. With your help, the broken and fragmented Chronographers -- guardians of their empire -- have the power to destroy the mad mystic which has descended onto their underground sanctuary and experimented with their very nature. Descend into Sotha Sil and turn the Wheels of Lull. If the sheer size of the area doesn't impress you, subtle features like great voice acting and clever quest puzzles will. The boss battles have to be some of the most unique fights in Skyrim thus far. A new town and five new dungeons, along with a sincerely unique, Legend of Zelda- type dungeon experience equipped with new creatures and fantastic puzzles await you in this forgotten land. Not only does this mod expand the playable space of Tamriel, it also features new armor and weapons to enhance your gaming experience. All around, this is a quirky and enjoyable mod to have in your arsenal. If you don't already have enough moral dilemmas in your life, The Forgotten City is for you. Its allure begins with a gripping trailer. The Forgotten City is an ancient Dwarven compound buried deep underneath Tamriel. Ancient riddles, murder investigations, villains and enemies galore along with legendary armor and incredible voice acting will leave you in awe of what fan developers are capable of. Few mods will leave you with chills; this is one of them. The Forgotten City creates a living, breathing underground world. The more NPCs you interact with, the greater your understanding of the surrounding history. Sprinkle in an indescribable orchestral soundtrack and all I can say is this: Download this mod and discover the forgotten mysteries of The Forgotten City. Helgen Reborn has been a long time favorite in the modding community, and for good reason. The Helgen Reborn mod doesn't create a new place as much as it recreates an old experience. Helgen, the town you start off with in Skyrim , is destroyed by a dragon. This mod attempts to rebuild the lost Helgen for you to enjoy. There are legends to learn and old soldiers to reunite, feuds to settle and town guards to recruit. If that doesn't wet your whistle, an arena rivaling the long-lost and long-admired arena quest line in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion will give you the chance to fight for your life. This mod is massive and still growing; new versions provide continually bigger and better interactions, dungeons and NPCs to Helgen Reborn. Download: Helgen Reborn MB. You know what's always been missing in Skyrim? Giant islands. Summerset Isle fixes that. Summerset Isle is a truly expansive expansion which lengthens the Arch-Mage story of Winterhold wherein you are summoned to the land of Altmer. The mod is home to a seriously-cavernous Skyrim experience; the nostalgic references to Morrowind and Oblivion , new quest lines, dungeons, and bosses will keep you occupied for hours. To put it frankly, you will lose yourself in this mod. Summerset Isle gives you exactly what you want out of Skyrim -- more. If you want to have a completely new, completely playable and completely free expansion to Skyrim , download Summerset Isles today. Download: Summerset Isles MB. If you're a big fan of apocalyptic fight sequences, this is it. Named after the Greek word for "to deify" or make a God, Apotheosis grants access into secret Daedric realms and allows for some of the greatest boss fights available. This mod stands above all else for purely nostalgic reasons. As a long time fan of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion , I longed for a mod that would allow me to run through portals into Daedric worlds. Apotheosis does this and more. The music is exciting, the boss fights are cinematic and the Dark Souls feel of the arena makes this mod the perfect cherry on your Skyrim sundae. If Apotheosis doesn't impress you due to its small, 37 MB stature, team this mod with the highly regarded Molag Bal's Inferno -- a Daedric multi-level dungeon realm full of unimaginable horrors and hours of strife -- to create a Skyrim that suits your dark, Daedric needs. A modders work is never done ; once you've installed your first texture pack, modding becomes a game in itself. That being said, it's hard not to when such impressive work is being continually made and updated through sheer force of will. Skyrim is five-years-old, ancient by modern standards, yet the love the community has shown for Skyrim -- and the Elder Scroll series as a whole -- is still strong. Download these mods and you'll end up wondering where the official world ends and the unofficial begins. What expansion mods do you enjoy for Skyrim? Let us know in the comments below! Falskaar The list starts off with an old and beloved Skyrim mod, Falskaar.
