Tomei, Tudyk, Trejo, Swallow Among Additions to FAN EXPO Philadelphia In Next Wave of Celebrities
Tumblr media
Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler) and fan favorites Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, “Firefly”), Danny Trejo (Machete, The Book of Boba Fett), Emily Swallow (“The Mandalorian,” “Supernatural”) and Jeff Ward (“One Piece,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) are among the additions to the growing celebrity lineup at FAN EXPO Philadelphia, set for May 3-5 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars) and Diana Lee Inosanto (“Ahsoka”) round out the newcomers to the roster.
Marisa Tomei blasted onto the scene with her Academy Award winning performance as “Mona Lisa Vito” opposite Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny. After the Best Supporting Actress win, she went on to roles in Chaplin, Untamed Heart and the Paper, later appearing on Broadway before earning two more Oscar nominations, the third for The Wrestler. She also had a recurring role in the hit series “Empire” and appeared as “Aunt May” in three Spider-Man blockbusters.
Alan Tudyk gained fans’ attention when he starred as wise-cracking "Hoban 'Wash' Washburne" in "Firefly" and Serenity, and later grabbed the “Star Wars” fandom with his portrayal of “K-2SO” in Rogue One. He also appeared in Wreck it Ralph and 42 and has lent his voice to characters in hits like “American Dad,” “Harley Quinn,” “Transformers: Earthspeak” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”
Danny Trejo has developed a prolific career in the entertainment industry with a hard-earned and atypical road to success. From years of imprisonment to helping troubled youth battle drug addictions, from acting to producing, and now on to restaurant ventures, Trejo’s name, face, and achievements are well recognized in Hollywood and beyond. He has starred in dozens of films including Desperado, Heat, the From Dusk Till Dawn series, Con Air, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids movies, Machete and many more.
With her portrayal of “The Armorer” in “The Mandalorian” in the hit Netflix series “The Mandalorian,” Emily Swallow added another role to her growing resume. She also appeared as “Kim Fischer,” a regular on “The Mentalist” and as “Amara / The Darkness” in the 11th season of “Supernatural.” She also voiced the role of “Lisa Tepes” in the animated Netflix fantasy action series “Castlevania.”
Jeff Ward played “Deke Shaw” as a regular on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” from 2017-2020, and most recently appeared in the first season of the Netflix adventure/comedy “One Piece.” Fans will also recognize him from his work in “Brand New Cherry Flavor” and the TV movie Manson’s Lost Girls, where he gave an appropriately creepy performance as the cult leader.
Joonas Suotamo has assumed the mantle of the iconic role of “Chewbacca” in numerous iterations of the Star Wars saga since first appearing as the Wookiee in Episode VII – The Force Awakens in 2015. The Finnish actor also stepped out of the familiar character to appear in four episodes of the Disney series “Willow.”
Diana Lee Inosanto appears as “Morgan Elsbeth” in the Star Wars “Ahsoka” production on Disney+, opposite Rosario Dawson, David Tennant and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She originated that role in an episode of “Mandalorian” in 2020 after appearing in dozens of movies and shows as a stunt person and a variety of other entertainment jobs.
They join a lineup that already includes headliners Mario Lopez (“Saved by the Bell,” “Access Hollywood”), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, “Gilmore Girls”), Felicia Day (“The Guild,” “Dragon Age: Redemption”), Ben McKenzie (“Gotham,” “The O.C.”), Holly Marie Combs (“Charmed,” “Picket Fences”), Adam Savage (“MythBusters,” “Unchained Reaction”), Michelle Hurd (“Star Trek: Picard,” “Law & Order: SVU”), Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon, The Mummy) and Jason Lee (“My Name is Earl,” The Incredibles).
Single-Day Tickets, Three-Day Passes, Ultimate Fan and VIP Packages for FAN EXPO Philadelphia are available now. Advance pricing is available until April 18. More guest news will be released in the following weeks, including line-up reveals for additional headline celebrities, comic creator guests, voice actors and cosplayers.

Tumblr media
Peony – The Queen of All Weddings
Nicole Kidman made a bold statement in the wedding world in 2001 by choosing exquisite white Duchesse peonies for her ceremony, cementing her status as an iconic trendsetter. This choice was later embraced by other celebrities, including Nicole Ricci and Jennifer Lopez, making white peonies a popular choice for all marriage-related occasions. Besides their stunning appearance, peonies are also known for their rich aroma, which possesses relaxing properties - making them especially relevant for a restless bride!
Phalaenopsis Orchid – Unique Tropical Deities
Considered one of the most "feminine" flowers in modern floristry, orchids are a must-have in cascading, waterfall-shaped bouquets. White Phalaenopsis orchids were famously chosen by Milla Jovovich, Eva Longoria, and Sofia Vergara for their big day ceremonies. If you're looking to add a pop of vibrant color to your centerpieces, blue, pink, purple, and even yellow orchids would make a brilliant alternative. Orchids are a versatile and elegant choice that are sure to add a touch of sophistication to any wedding celebration.
Freesia – The Choice of Aristocrats
Freesias, with their fragrant and refreshing aroma, pair perfectly with cream roses, white tulips, or stephanotis' little wax stars. These gentle flowers have always been an unrivaled choice for classic-style weddings, frequently making appearances in the hands of royal brides like Diana Spencer, Sophie Rhys-Jones, and Pippa Middleton. Their delicate beauty and subtle elegance make freesias a timeless choice for any bride looking to add a touch of sophistication to her special day.
Ranunculus – The Reign of White Petal
Bold and expressive, ranunculus flowers immediately capture everyone's attention with their appearance, which appears as if assembled from thousands of finest muslin petals. While they look splendid in mono-bouquets, they also fully prove their worth when paired with creamy roses, fluffy peonies, and snowy white jasmine, as recently proven by Priyanka Chopra. The combination of these flowers creates a stunning visual display that is both elegant and eye-catching, making ranunculus a popular choice for any bride looking to add a touch of sophistication to their wedding ceremony.
Eustoma – For Originality and Volume
Dainty and fragile, eustomas add significant volume to bouquets of both round and elongated shapes, making them irresistibly beautiful. These flowers come in a large variety of shades, making them ideal for dozens of unique styles, from boho chic to goblincore. In the world of celebrity weddings, former Miss Hong Kong, Grace Chan, elegantly combined both ranunculus and eustoma in her bridal bouquet, showcasing the stunning beauty of these two flowers together. Eustomas are a versatile and elegant choice that can add a touch of delicate beauty to any wedding ceremony.
Gypsophila – An Old Tradition
Gypsophila, also known as baby's breath, has long been a favourite of wedding florists due to its thin, long stems with myriads of tiny round buds. If you're dreaming of holding a soft white cloud during the ceremony, mono-bouquets with this variety are a perfect choice. For a more unique solution, consider a gypsophila flower crown, as seen in Ashley Tisdale's outstanding wedding look. Gypsophila is a delicate and romantic flower that adds a touch of ethereal beauty to any wedding celebration.
Сalla Lily – Exotic, Graceful, and Pure
Calla lilies are known for their beautifully elongated shape, making them a popular choice for tall bouquets. White calla lilies, which symbolize femininity, purity, and innocence, are a popular choice for weddings. These flowers are an unsurpassed choice for venue decor, as demonstrated by Lauren Rodriguez's exquisite ceremony. For a touch of flaming passion or bashful tenderness, consider red and pink calla lilies, respectively. Calla lilies are a timeless and elegant flower that adds a touch of sophistication to any wedding celebration.
Gardenia – For Sophisticated Compositions
Softly textured white flowers are a classic choice for intricate wedding bouquets of countless film stars. Gardenias, in particular, are perfectly compatible with roses, wildflowers, and bluebells, and are believed to prevent jealousy among newlyweds. These stunning flowers were showcased in bridal arrangements by both Maxima Zorreguieta and Princess Victoria, adding a touch of timeless elegance to their wedding celebrations. Gardenias are a delicate and luxurious flower that exudes sophistication and grace.
Lilies-of-the-valley – A Timeless Icon
White porcelain lilies-of-the-valley are a pure and simple flower that can touch the heart and soul of any young bride. These charming pearl-like flowers are perfect for natural-style weddings and are simply irreplaceable. Lilies-of-the-valley were famously used in the unforgettable wedding ceremonies of Grace Kelly, Duchess Katherine, Claudia Schiffer, and Elizabeth Hurley, making them a timeless choice for any bride. These delicate flowers symbolize sweetness, purity, and the return of happiness, making them a meaningful addition to any wedding celebration.

If there is one thing every woman can agree on, it is that a good brand plays an important role in developing a fantastic style sense. To see proof, look no further than Dolores Catania, Vero Pliego, Gizelle Bryant, Teresa Giudice, Kameron Scott, and Lizzie Rovsek. These stylish modern-day housewives established themselves as experts in different fields.
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2439/4965/files/IMG_4626_480x480.jpg?v=1628882068
Carmen Sol is EVERYTHING that a woman expects it to be. When you see lots of powerful women like Lizzie Rovsek (a former Miss Kentucky) wearing eco-chic jelly beach bags, jelly wedge sandals and jelly purses it is enough to convince you how credible Carmen Sol is.
Let’s get into the details to find out more about these housewives and why they like Carmen Sol.
Popular Housewives from the Reality show
Popular reality TV personality Bettheny Frankl is known for her role in the hot favorite show “The Housewives of the New York City.” The show’s popularity made Betheny one of the most the highest-earning TV stars. She joined the reality show in 2008, which catapulted her career further.
The Real House Wives of New York managed to win the hearts of people, especially women, for a long time. Women loved and hated the characters of this ten-seasoned show because of the wine-swigging, cat-fights, man-sharing, and back-stabbing that took place, along with the classy accessories like jelly beach bags, jelly wedge sandals, jelly crossbody bags, and Jelly totes these stars wore on the show.
Similarly, the “distinct humor” of Dolores Catania from the Real Housewives of New Jersey made people laugh and forget their problems, even if it was just for a little while. As the longest-running Housewives show, it brings about endless drama and laughter.
Plus, the depiction of camaraderie in Bravo’s series, along with giddy-thrill and fashion sense, is why women fell in love with the show.
Fashion icons and relationship specialists like Siggy Flicker became popular quickly when they first made appearances on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Her sweet and close friendship with the beautiful Dolores kept the show refreshing for the viewers.
Teresa Giudice is also a fan- favorite of the show.  She joined the show in the first season and has been the center of the drama since then. Thrilling scenes like Teresa flipping the table or having a shouting match with Melissa Gorga set a high bar in the world of reality TV.
Kameron Scott, on the other hand, was loved because of her color choices, cute banters, and ‘ditzy blonde’ personality which go along with interesting accessories like jelly wedge sandals, jelly crossbody bags, Jelly purses, and jelly totes.
Gizelle Bryant- the African-American lady in the Real Housewives, was another loved character who added her personal experiences of divorce and relationships to the show by giving them friendly advice for the situations. The characters of Emily Simpson and Lizzie Rovsek have also been viewers’ favorites for their witty and hilarious performances.
What’s Common in these Housewives?
These leading ladies are style icons! It explains why they’re an inspiration for so many women. These housewives prefer a fashion that is safe for both their health and the environment. Their preference for sustainable accessories means they choose Carmen Sol’s impeccable designs. The Made in Italy accessories such as jelly sandals, jelly beach bags, jelly wedge sandals, jelly crossbody bags are chic, recyclable, and luxurious.
Whether it is their Italy flat jelly  sandals, jelly beach bags, jelly handbags, or Jelly purses, Carmen Sol symbolizes a feminine personality and seamless comfort. All things considered, they’re a renowned lifestyle brand that has made its mark on the fashion industry.
Plus, the eco-conscious brand is a favorite of many celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Miss J Alexander, Becky G, Sofia Vergara, Hilaria Baldwin, NIckiminaj Chanel and, Lola Ponce.  You might have seen Beck G and Jenifer Lopez flaunting her jelly wedge sandals and jelly totes in various spots.
Summing Up
If you trust your favorite celebrities’ taste in fashion and want to stay ahead of the curve, Carmen Sol is your best bet.

A Year in Review: The 25 Best Films of 2019
This list may seem a few months late from the rest of the media, but I consider the movie season to stretch 14 months, from the start of the Sundance Film Festival in January through the end of the Oscars ceremony in February. This year's movie season was shortened as the 92nd Academy Awards were held about three weeks earlier than usual, commencing on Feb. 9. Of course, South Korean director Bong Jon-ho's "Parasite" took home the Best Picture prize making history as the Academy's first-ever non-English language film to take home the top award.
Now that the Oscars have officially wrapped up, and the 2020 movie season is revving up (to a weak start), I feel comfortable with sharing my favorite 25 films of 2019. From box office hits to smaller gems, below is a breakdown of the top films that debuted last year.
25. “The Beach Bum,” directed by Harmony Korine
Tumblr media
24. “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” directed by Marielle Heller
Tumblr media
23. “Toy Story 4,” directed Josh Cooley
Tumblr media
22. “Alita: Battle Angel,” directed by Robert Rodriguez
Tumblr media
21. “The Lighthouse,” directed by Robert Eggers
Tumblr media
20. “A Long Day’s Journey into Night,” directed by Bi Gan
Tumblr media
19. “Doctor Sleep,” directed by Mike Flanagan
Tumblr media
18. “6 Underground,” directed by Michael Bay
Tumblr media
17. “Uncut Gems,” directed by Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie
Tumblr media
16. “The Nightingale,” directed by Jennifer Kent
Tumblr media
15. “Hustlers,” directed by Lorene Scafaria
Tumblr media
Lorene Scafaria's "Hustlers" might be the most fun film of 2019, composed of brilliant shots and serving as a spotlight to showcase Jennifer Lopez's talents. Mostly set during the 2008 recession, the film is a condemnation of late stage capitalism while following a group of strippers, played by Lopez as well as Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart and more, who drug wealthy men and steal from them — until their crimes catch up with them.
14. “The Farewell,” directed by Lulu Wang
Tumblr media
An impressive debut feature from Lulu Wang, "The Farewell" is a special kind of family tale, featuring a breakout performance from comedian Awkwafina. Rooted from Wang's true story (which was first turned into an episode of "This American Life"), "The Farewell" is unlike any kind of family drama you've seen; a deeply personal, sad but ultimately uplifting film about the things we choose to tell (and not tell) those closest to us.
13. "Asako I & II," directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi
Tumblr media
Following up his six-hour film "Happy Hour," Japanese filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi's "Asako I & II" clocks in at just two hours but still manages to pack in a number of the same themes. Here, a young woman named Asako (Erika Karata) briefly falls in love with a handsome boy named Baku (Masahiro Higashide) in her hometown in rural Japan before he suddenly vanishes. After moving to Tokyo a few years later, Asako spots Baku — but he tells her his name is Ryohei (also played by Higashide). From there, a relationship blooms and unravels. Similar to "Happy Hour," Hamaguchi's effortless ability to draw an emotional response from the ebbs and flows of deep, personal relationships (between friends, family, lovers) is unparalleled.
12. "Climax," directed by Gasper Noé
Tumblr media
Gasper Noé is often hit-or-miss with most movie audiences. His films are always provocative and his latest feature "Climax" is no exception. Set in the 90s, a French dance troupe rehearses a routine ("Climax" opens with the single best scene of 2019) before celebrating for the night with some snacks and sangria — which someone has spiked with LSD. The rest of the film plays out like a perverse whodunnit while the group, led by Sofia Boutella, tries to figure out what's going on before losing their minds and allowing deep secrets ruin their lives.
11. "The Irishman," directed by Martin Scorsese
Tumblr media
Martin Scorsese's long-awaited return to the gangster flick resulted in a three-and-a-half-hour epic. "The Irishman," which reunites Marty with Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, also stars Al Pacino (the first time the actor appeared in a film by the acclaimed director), as Jimmy Hoffa. The film is Scorsese's most meditative work outside his films about religion. There is as much subtext to the film as there is text, making "The Irishman" a dazzling feat of filmmaking and storytelling, featuring outstanding performances from its three leads.
10. "Gloria Bell," directed by Sebastián Lelio
Tumblr media
Since his 2017 breakout film "A Fantastic Woman," Sebastián Lelio's career has been quite quiet. Nevertheless, the English-language remake of his own Chilean-Spanish film "Gloria," re-titled "Gloria Bell," is a stunning piece of filmmaking. Starring Julianne Moore as the titular character, the film follows the middle age single woman through the ups and downs of her dating and family life. It's an unassumingly beautiful film that is gorgeous and features one of Moore's best performances to date.
09. "Her Smell," directed by Alex Ross Perry
Tumblr media
Alex Ross Perry's career has dramatically shifted since working with Elisabeth Moss on the 2015 thriller "Queen of Earth." Instead of making quirky New York City centric love stories (a la Noah Baumbach and Woody Allen before him), Perry once again teams up with Moss for "Her Smell." Structured like a five-act play, the film follows Becky Something (Moss), the leader of an all-girl punk group. In what is Moss's best performance to date, Becky is an addict and downright evil at times as she manipulates those around her. It's a dizzying feat of filmmaking that puts Moss to the test.
08. "Ad Astra," directed by James Gray
Tumblr media
Brad Pitt won the Oscar for his performance in "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood," but "Ad Astra" was his best performance in 2019. Following up his 2016 masterpiece "The Lost City of Z," director James Gray continues on his path of making ambitious epics, moving from the Amazon to the depths of our solar system. Here Pitt's Roy McBride is on a mission to find his father (Tommy Lee Jones), who is literally lost in space. Roy has to confront his issues with his father as he battles moon pirates, rabid baboons and his inner demons. "Ad Astra" is not only an impressive film for Grey, but Pitt's turn as the sad spaceman is nuanced and shows how much range the Hollywood icon actually has.
07. "Honeyland," directed by Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska
Tumblr media
"Honeyland" made Oscars history when it became the first film to be nominated in both Best International Feature Film and Best Documentary Feature — and for good reason. Clocking in at just 85 minutes, Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska's stunningly beautiful film follows Hatidže Muratova, a beekeeper living in a remote village in North Macedonia. But "Honeyland" is so much more than that; it's a universal story about our delicate ecosystem, fickle Mother Nature, taking care of our family and having bad neighbors. In what may seem like a specific tale turns out to be incredibly relatable, with Stefanov and Kotevska achieving some of the best nonfiction filmmaking in years.
06. "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood," directed by Quentin Tarantino
Tumblr media
Quentin Tarantino's penultimate film "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" is a love letter to Tinseltown. Here, he honors the summer of 1969 as the film industry is thriving with newcomers like Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) and aging stars like Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio in his best performance ever). Rick is a TV villain and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) is along for the ride. "OUATIH" is more of a hangout movie than something one would expect from QT; it's more in line with the sophistication of "Jackie Brown" than the over-the-top cartoon violence found in "Django Unchained." Like Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman," "OUATIH" is a contemplative and meditative look at aging, youth culture and America through the prism that is Tarantino.
05. "Midsommar," directed by Ari Aster
Tumblr media
Following up his horror masterpiece "Hereditary" just one year later, Ari Aster returned with the daylight gonzo vacation nightmare "Midsommar." Like with "Hereditary" and its star Toni Collette, Ari gets a stunning performance out of rising star Florence Pugh, who plays Dani. She just suffered a major tragedy and is decides to go on a trip to a remote village in Sweden with her aloof boyfriend (Jack Reynor) and his college pals. The trip, of course, is worse than anyone could have imagined and plays out in complete sunlight, making Aster's daytime nightmare incredibly upsetting and one of the most vibrant horror films ever made.
04. "Pain and Glory," directed by Pedro Almodóvar
Tumblr media
Spanish auteur Pedro Almodóvar returned last year with "Pain and Glory," unlike any movie he's made in his nearly 40-year career. It's a deeply personal film and one of his most quiet and contemplative. It also reunites the filmmaker with Antonio Banderas — in his best role ever — who starred in Almodóvar's earlier films and his 2011 horror film "The Skin I Live in." Despite it being far removed from Almodóvar's oeuvre, it still fits in snugly with his work, resulting in a beautiful and self-reflexive film about age, lost love and the past.
03. "Little Women," directed by Greta Gerwig
Tumblr media
On paper, remaking "Little Women" in 2019 might have seemed like a fool's errand. But Greta Gerwig's take on the classic story, and her follow up to her breakthrough film "Lady Bird," gave a new purpose to Louisa May Alcott's centuries old story about the March sisters living in Concord, Mass. During the Civil War. Here, Gerwig assembles the hottest cast of 2019 (Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Laura Dern, Eliza Scanlen, Bob Odenkirk, Louis Garrel, Chris Cooper and Meryl Streep), enlists Alexander Displat for the score and Yorick Le Saux to carry out luscious cinematography. But it's Gerwig's breakdown of the story and her daring changes to the novel that make her rendition of "Little Women" vital and beautiful. She manages to retain the Alcott's tone and vibrance while bringing something wholly original to a story we've seen time and time again, proving Gerwig is a master storyteller.
02. "Parasite," directed by Bong Joon-ho
Tumblr media
Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" took the world by storm. A true tour de force, the South Korean film started hot out of the gate, winning the Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival, blazing its way to win Best Picture at the Oscars earlier this month. And rightfully so — "Parasite" is a relatable tale about class struggle unlike any other film in its genre. Joon-ho, who has other masterpieces under his belt ("Mother," "Memories of Murder"), is in total control of his film; a true craftsman and storyteller, who knows how to build tension, introduce bits of comedy and create compelling characters. The film is complex yet fully understandable; a truly accomplished piece of filmmaking that will become a gateway for world cinema.
01. "Marriage Story," directed by Noah Baumbach
Tumblr media
Noah Baumbach's "Marriage Story" is his most sophisticated and considered film to date. Following a couple (Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson) going through a divorce, Baumbach crafts a personal story with a raw script that is executed by astonishing performances from its two leads and its wonderful supporting cast (Laura Dern, Alan Alda, Ray Liotta, Merritt Wever). For so many films about finding love, there are few that are directly about the end of a relationship or divorce and Baumbach's intimate tale is a dazzling feat of not only writing, but acting and understanding of how all the moving pieces of a movie can coalesce into a breathtaking piece of art.

WHEN: Saturday, August 1st. WHERE: Sapphire (Neutral) HOSTED BY: Mia Costello TIME: 7:00 PM CST DRESS CODE: Assigned Costume OOC TIME: 6:00 PM CST
Chanel Albright, the Costello’s notorious publicist, is turning 29 and all of Chicago’s elite, spontaneous, reckless and eyebrow raising are invited. Hosted and thrown by one of Chicago’s former news headliners, Mia Costello. This is a private event where two things allow you entrance into Sapphire, a personalized VIP pass and being dressed as the 90s or 00s artist listed on said pass. Failure to meet the dress code or to arrive in costume as someone other than the name on the pass results in not only a denied entry but immediate escorting from Sapphire’s premises.
Liquor, food, 90s/00s nostalgia and music will be in abundance. Drinks are practically free and the night will be wild and one to be remembered. Cell Phones and digital cameras are traded in for polaroid and disposable cameras. Sapphire has been transformed from the club of the present to that of the past with classics of each era and a few modern amenities provided for guests entertainment. Costello and private security are heavily in attendance to make sure things do not get too out of hand.
A/N: A special THANK YOU to Isa for putting this all together. She assigned every character a 90s/00s icon to dress up as – even the ones who aren’t taken! Everyone’s costumes will be listed below. She also made a playlist (listen here) and typed everything up. I didn’t have to do much work for this at all! Thank you for coming up with such a fun idea for everyone to participate in!
With that being said, I think I can trust everyone here to write and do replies however they see fit. If you want to write interactions via Chatzy/Discord, that’s fine, just make sure to post them on the dash if anything important happens so that we can all read! Try to stay on top of replies (this especially goes for ME, I suck). Have fun, make sure to check out the assigned costumes below! And make sure your character shows up in costume or they won’t be let in. Don’t make Mia mad, plz, thank you.

How to Shape a Spiral Galaxy
NASA & DLR - SOFIA Mission patch. Dec. 10, 2019 Our Milky Way galaxy has an elegant spiral shape with long arms filled with stars, but exactly how it took this form has long puzzled scientists. New observations of another galaxy are shedding light on how spiral-shaped galaxies like our own get their iconic shape. Magnetic fields play a strong role in shaping these galaxies, according to research from the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, or SOFIA. Scientists measured magnetic fields along the spiral arms of the galaxy called NGC 1068, or M77. The fields are shown as streamlines that closely follow the circling arms.
Image above: Magnetic fields in NGC 1086, or M77, are shown as streamlines over a visible light and X-ray composite image of the galaxy from the Hubble Space Telescope, the Nuclear Spectroscopic Array, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The magnetic fields align along the entire length of the massive spiral arms — 24,000 light years across (0.8 kiloparsecs) — implying that the gravitational forces that created the galaxy’s shape are also compressing the its magnetic field. This supports the leading theory of how the spiral arms are forced into their iconic shape known as “density wave theory.” SOFIA studied the galaxy using far-infrared light (89 microns) to reveal facets of its magnetic fields that previous observations using visible and radio telescopes could not detect. Image Credits: NASA/SOFIA; NASA/JPL-Caltech/Roma Tre Univ. “Magnetic fields are invisible, but they may influence the evolution of a galaxy,” said Enrique Lopez-Rodriguez, a Universities Space Research Association scientist at the SOFIA Science Center at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley. “We have a pretty good understanding of how gravity affects galactic structures, but we’re just starting to learn the role magnetic fields play.” The M77 galaxy is located 47 million light years away in the constellation Cetus. It has a supermassive active black hole at its center that is twice as massive as the black hole at the heart of our Milky Way galaxy. The swirling arms are filled with dust, gas and areas of intense star formation called starbursts. SOFIA’s infrared observations reveal what human eyes cannot: magnetic fields that closely follow the newborn-star-filled spiral arms. This supports the leading theory of how these arms are forced into their iconic shape known as “density wave theory.” It states that dust, gas and stars in the arms are not fixed in place like blades on a fan. Instead, the material moves along the arms as gravity compresses it, like items on a conveyor belt. The magnetic field alignment stretches across the entire length of the massive, arms — approximately 24,000 light years across. This implies that the gravitational forces that created the galaxy’s spiral shape are also compressing its magnetic field, supporting the density wave theory. The results are published in the Astrophysical Journal.
Boeing 747SP jetliner modified to carry a 106-inch diameter telescope (SOFIA)
“This is the first time we’ve seen magnetic fields aligned at such large scales with current star birth in the spiral arms,” said Lopez-Rodriquez. “It’s always exciting to have observational evidence that supports theories.” Celestial magnetic fields are notoriously difficult to observe. SOFIA’s newest instrument, the High-resolution Airborne Wideband Camera-Plus, or HAWC+, uses far-infrared light to observe celestial dust grains, which align perpendicular to magnetic field lines. From these results, astronomers can infer the shape and direction of the otherwise invisible magnetic field. Far-infrared light provides key information about magnetic fields because the signal is not contaminated by emission from other mechanisms, such as scattered visible light and radiation from high-energy particles. SOFIA’s ability to study the galaxy with far infrared light, specifically at the wavelength of 89 microns, revealed previously unknown facets of its magnetic fields. Further observations are necessary to understand how magnetic fields influence the formation and evolution of other types of galaxies, such as those with irregular shapes. SOFIA, the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, is a Boeing 747SP jetliner modified to carry a 106-inch diameter telescope. It is a joint project of NASA and the German Aerospace Center, DLR. NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley manages the SOFIA program, science and mission operations in cooperation with the Universities Space Research Association headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, and the German SOFIA Institute (DSI) at the University of Stuttgart. The aircraft is maintained and operated from NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center Building 703, in Palmdale, California. The HAWC+ instrument was developed and delivered to NASA by a multi-institution team led by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Amount of Sleep: I suck at time management so if I get four hours of sleep on a school night I consider myself lucky.
Lucky Number(s): I don’t think I have one. Even numbers are cool and 420 + 69 are always iconic

Random Fact: I was born in Mexico but moved here when I was four. My official birth certificate for Mexico says “Sofia Villegas Lopez” but when my dad was fixing my papers to come over here he filled everything out with only his last name so all my official papers say “Sofia Villegas” I think it’s funny that I technically have a different name in a different country. Also I think my dad forgot my mom’s last name while he was here but, who am I to know.
Aesthetic: Two year old who has ditsy parents so they don’t pay attention to her so she is hyper all the time and never wears anything that matches and is also a goblin.

⋆ ◦ ° ☾ ryan guzman + cismale + he/him — have you met tomas ‘tommy’ lopez? they are a twenty-nine year old known around town as the mama’s boy. they’ve been in the gang life for five years, and currently work for the gang as a part time escort. they are a bisexual scorpio, which means they are family-orientated + empathetic, as well as secretive + defensive. aching muscles, sleepless nights, the world on his shoulders. × ivy. twenty-one. she/her. gmt. ×
baby no.4- self control ? idk her (also i now have the mambo number 5 stuck in my head)
so tommy was raised by a kickass single mom called sofia. his father died over seas while his mother was pregnant and she was left to face it all alone. but sofia lopez was made of steal and fire- but also so much love and passion.
tommy’s childhood- while not lavish, all his clothes coming from the older neighbour next door and he didn’t have any of the latest toys- he still had his mother who put a roof over his head and food on the table.
he loved education, specifically the arts. he loved to draw and dance but that wasn’t going to pay the bills. so tommy focused on subjects that would get him the best job he needed but- there was no passion to it. his mother noticed this and quickly changed that- no son of hers was going to let his dreams die like that.
his mother eventually fell in love again, tommy wasn’t too happy about it but he knew his mother deserved to find love. at age nineteen tommy would end up with a baby sister- beau.   with support from his new family and plenty of years spent saving- at age twenty-four tommy lopez opened his own dance studio.
but just as things were looking up - his mother collapsed during the opening. she had hidden her symptoms from everyone and no one knew she had als.
her mother’s boyfriend ditched, knowing their was no cure and not wanting to deal with it. that left tommy to look after his mother, his sister, a house, an apartment, a dance studio- suddenly he went from soaring to hitting rock bottom.
tommy sold his apartment to pay for the first round of medical bills and rented out his dance studio space for other’s to use. he got a job at a local convenience store but nowhere else would hire a guy who’s grades weren’t great and only had his failing studio on his c.v.
it became obvious as his mother’s health deteriorated that he couldn’t keep up with the bills. so he went out looking for any work he could get his hands on- and that happened to be... an escort job.
tommy is no shy virgin, he has slept around, experimented and he was told he didn’t have to sleep with clients if he didn’t want to either. some just enjoyed having something pretty on their arm for the night. it paid well and so tommy stuck to it part time.
he hasn’t told his mother how he can afford the home nurse. he won’t tell them about how for the last five years he has been involved with a gang. he wants to keep them safe. if he gets hurt that’s fine- but his mother and sister are his world and he’d die before letting the gang near them. that’s why the nurse he chose has no affiliation with them and he makes sure to never take on a client that is linked to either family member.
tommy puts himself at the bottom of the list of those he cares about. everyone else comes first. he’s a self-sacrificing idiot.
he’s a tease, not afraid to make people work for it when he feels like it. he’s also a soft boi he just wants to take care of everyone. but if you come at him he ain’t afraid to throw punches.
connection ideas:
other escorts: escorts he’s close friends with, someone who showed him the ropes, maybe he took a customer from one and now they hate him etc.
repeat customer: when tommy first started this customer would see him once a month- then it became once a week- and now five years later he’s over at this customer’s apartment at least three times a week. there’s something more than just the physical between the two but tommy doesn’t want to get deeper into the gang than he already has because of his family- and this customer- if it got out he had feelings for an escort it would ruin his reputation... and yet the two keep coming back to each other. (he’d have to be older than tommy by a couple years and i’ll probs send this into the main as a wc)
the ex: tommy basically dropped this relationship as soon as he found out his mother was sick. he shut them out- his family needed him and nothing else mattered at that time. we can discuss if they were hecka serious or nah.
dancers he taught before he had to rent out his studio to someone else.
my brain is dead and won’t come up with any more lsjkfvjesrg
also my lazy ass hasn’t made enough gif icons yet so while i try to find the motivation imma be using medium gifs *finger guns*
