Update your W-4′s and Estimated Taxes

While preparing their personal taxes for the year a client had an unpleasant surprise.  They discovered that their family owed the government thousands of additional dollars.  Why?  Because their family’s W-4′s were out of date and their paycheck witholdings were too small.   This kind of crisis is easily avoided.  If you start gaining substantially more income or there is a new source of income (like a new business or side-hustle), make sure you update your household’s W-4′s and quarterly estimated tax schedules.

Set up an recurring calendar reminder to have your entire household fill out fresh W-4′s and check the math on your estimated tax payments.  If you wanted to be super-safe you could also create a quarterly check-in to verify there haven’t been an major shifts in income within your family that would require additional mid-year refreshes.

Unpopular Opinion: It's not always about the mindset. Granted, yes, your "I can do it, I can achieve it" mindset is VERY needed in order to propel you forward to take action. But sometimes, it really IS about the strategy + not the mindset. --> When your business isn't making consistent income, you don't yet have a proven marketing + sales strategy. So it *could* be your mindset, but if you're doing all the work around your mindset + you're not focusing on the strategy too... The scales are tipped + there's a gap. Consistent income + growing your business is a balance between 3 things: - Strategy - Mindset - Action If you're only focusing on Strategy, you won't have the can-do attitude or action to back it up. Leaving your genius unseen by the people you're trying to reach. If you're only focusing on the Mindset, you won't have the implementation or the process to back it up. Leaving you sitting around, waiting for it to fall into your lap. If you're only focusing on the action, you won't have the positive attitude to continue going when you hit a roadblock or the clarity of what to do, where to go, or the focus on a process that works. Leaving you feeling kicked around like a pinball in a pinball machine. And you can see how having only 2 of these 3 balanced creates a gap in the other as well. I've seen so much awareness on mindset + action.
