Wishlist For Someone Special

Ok, so I'm feeling really sappy and just a little lonely. All my friends are boring and my family members are too young for me to take to do some stuff.

Laser Tag- sneaking around, just trying to one up each other, or being on the same team and still- try to one up each other😂

Paintball- a little more painful than laser tag, but still fun. Checking up on each other afterwards to make sure there aren't any really bad bruises

Graffiti- I've always liked the way it looks. I would love for someone to teach me, or for us to learn together in one of those public graffiti houses

A Willow Tree- I would love to find a weeping willow tree and climb it's branches, only to sit and read there with my loved one enjoying their company.

Just Drive- just take a roadtrip with someone I love, blasting music, laughing, singing, and snacking as we blaze down the roads. It doesn't have to be long.

Visit an Animal Sanctuary/Reserve- I find animals fascinating, but also find that sanctuaries and reserves are more educational and often more humane than zoos.

Volunteer at the Food Bank or SPCA- just general acts of service. They make me happy.

Pillow Fortress- I didn't really get to make blanket forts when I was younger, so I want to try doing something even bigger! I want to convert the couch into a cuddle palace.

Spontaneous Dancing- idk man, it just makes me really happy. My dad used to twirl and dip me when I was little, so that's probably where it started.

Cooking/Baking Together- so what if we make a bit of a mess? So what if we screw up the recipe? It doesn't matter, it was time well spent.

Cleaning Together- Growing up as an only child for ten years and then becoming the oldest means I've done chores alone for a long time. I want someone's company, maybe we'll talk, maybe we'll work in comfortable silence, or maybe we'll blast music. I don't care. I would be happy just to know I wasn't alone.

Learning One of Their Hobbies- I want to learn something they know!! Please, let me understand a little better, I just need them to be patient with me.

Forest Walks- especially in Fall. I want to walk down an old trail, listen to leaves crunch under our feet as more fall from above I want the blustery weather to give us rosy cheeks and noses by the time our walk is over.

Horseback Riding- I've done it before, but I would love to bring someone with me. You have more experience? Great! I love to see that confidence in you. You've done it a couple times? Yay, we're in the same boat! Never done it at all? That's ok! I'll do what I can to help you!

Outdoor Movie Night- we don't have drive- in theaters anywhere nearby, but give me a sheet, campchairs, and a projector? I've got us.

Indoor Movie Night- let's bundle up and cuddle together while we watch a new movie. Or maybe it's a classic. Idc.

Try New Food- let's go somewhere for lunch and pick something completely foreign...(I am not eating guinea pig again though, thanks.)

The Wharf- if one of us happens to live by the ocean, we'll be frequent visitors. Not necessarily the beach, bit on wooden planks where the salty sea air still reaches you. We can watch the boats come and go. (Fisherman's Wharf in B.C Canada is fun. Splatter Painting- dear god I've wanted to try this for so long. Just full on globs of paint and flicking it towards the canvas. (I was never allowed to do it because it was seen as a waste of paint. I couldn't even do it with an old toothbrush on a small canvas😑)

Video Games!- Please teach me how to play! Video games are banned in my family. I mean, I've done Just Dance, but that's about it. Mobile games have been kept a secret...basically just teach me to play and don't make me feel bad about playing, and I'll love you forever, mkay?

Ice Cream Date- again, idk. The idea just makes me really happy, whether we're sitting in a small shop, eating and talking. Or maybe we're walking, maybe holding hands, trying to point things out to each other, but our hands are full, but there's no way we're letting go. Or maybe we're sharing a cup of ice cream on a park bench, just people watching.

Thrift Store Outfits- I want to go to a thrift store and pick out the most ridiculous outfits for each other. We don't have to go anywhere, but just humour me when we're alone by wearing whatever I found for you, and vice versa.

Writing- writing a poem, a atory, a quote, or learning calligraphy and just writing their name- I want to write something to you

Books- let's go to the library and choose a book for each other, one that neither of us have read so we can talk and ask questions, come up with theories as we continue to read.

Books pt.2- if you write me a note and give me a book telling me why it's one of your favourites, I'll melt. I'll do the same for you, and soon we'll have a few more things to talk about and enjoy together

Sewing/Knitting/Crocheting/Fabric Work- useful skill! And maybe we can make something for each other. (Spoiler alert: you're getting a pillow case, mask, or a scarf, I can't do much yet😂)

Camping- lets share a tent and a campfire together, roasting smores as we laugh and tell each other stories. Maybe we'll try and sing a few songs too.

Punch Buggy- just playing the game properly will make me happy tbh. It's been 8 years of bending the rules😂

Board/Card Games- yes. I will get competitive. But that's half the fun. Also, I would like to play these properly as well lol

Museum Date- maybe somewhere local, or maybe we were driving by and decided to stop, or maybe we actually planned to go. Let's learn something new together, take some pictures.

Comfy- I didn't know what else to call it. Basically, take out, sweat pants, (messy buns), snacks, drinks, and a good show. Bonus if it's storming outside.

Rain- watching it rain, listening tonit rain, going outside and dancing or running in the rain, jumping in puddles- I want to do it all with you.

Little Gestures- little things we develop as we get to know each other, faces that we come to understand, hand movements we start to copy. Idk, I find it really cute.

okay so i finished love, victor a while ago and i saw some other reviews and thoughts about it here so now i've got a pretty good list on my thoughts and feelings.

tl;dr: it has some issues, yes, but im gonna hold out and hope it gets better later on because the same thing happened with the first few eps, i wasn't that into it but then it got good, and nothing is ever great with the first season, because at that point we're getting used to those characters.

⚠️caution: spoilers ahead (im on mobile, i cant get an under-the-cut)⚠️

1. while a leah on the offbeat movie would have been amazing movie sequel (even tho i havent read the book yet, im just here for the wlw content) i am kind of glad we got this instead. mostly because I've seen book series where one movie was good, so they decide to do the rest, turn out bad (hunger games? divergent? percy jackson? the hobbit?) because so much was cut from the book-to-first movie writing, that other scenes wouldn't make sense to future movies if they had those in while cutting others. however, i am sad that i didn't get to make the choice of deciding whether what was cut was wrong etc. about future movies, but i'll take what i can get.

2. LGBTQ+ POC as a lead! that's amazing! as a ace/bi lantina that's close to home (it also is great that victor's from texas and so is ya gorl) and even then it's a mixed latinx family! i think pilar mentioned that at least the grandmother left Colombia and i saw the Puerto Rican flag in victor's room. also the salazar's are definitely from small town texas, even without knowing the name. (church barbeques, the use of the words "such a diverse city" in regards to atlanta)

3. a lack of actual lgbtq+ main storylines (so far) is kind of sad for a show like this. i was getting serious bi/pan vibes (as a lot of other people) from victor from the beginning, and when it was implied that victor was actually gay (while great, not shaming) as it has been brought to my attention, there was a lot of looking at a lot of straight relationship problems (please let us know more about benji)- edit 6/18: upon further consideration, it very much is a show about questioning your sexuality, I'm speaking about the other straight relationship issues, not mia and Victor's, its just the first season.

4. let us talk about cheating for a sec. never okay, in any circumstance. i feel sorry for mia that she saw victor making out with benji and the fact that he was doing any of that in the first place. victor made a choice to lie about the espresso machine and then kissed benji at the hotel and then when benji was fighting with derek, basically confessed his love and mistakes, then proceeded to makeout with benji after he broke up with derek, he built that grave and now he must lie in it. i get having feelings for a guy when you are in a relationship with a girl, and not accepting yourself enough to end that relationship but you really want it to work so you can be "normal". really, he should have told mia after he got back from the trip tho. i get being in highschool and doing stupid stuff and making dumb decisions, but for a show aimed at teens i think we should also remind said teens to make good choices even if we have to lose some realism within the character choices.

4. pilar and her decisions based off her brother pissed me off. because i honestly think that if she'd kept her mouth shut about what she knew or confronted victor about it in the first place we could have avoided a LOT of mess. did she not learn from snooping around her mother's business about her relationships that going behind a person's back doesnt end well? i did, however, like the pilar/felix friendship and was really kind of hoping that they'd get together during their coffee hangout (although now im glad that didn't happen) because they had a deeper understanding of each other. same with wendy/felix, although they do seem to much alike to work out in the long run but i still feel bad for wendy.

5. i don't know how i feel about lake and andrew, as people separate from each other. both seem to be the way they are from their upbringing (not confirmed why andrew is such an ass, but if his comment about his dad is anything to go by i bet it's got something to do with attention) but andrew seems to be less, idk, superficial? like he turned down mia because he didn't want to be a rebound, he didn't out victor, he actually stood up to early teasing the other dudes in the lockerroom were doing at victor (with teasing of his own obviously but that interaction had him on my nice list until much later). lake? lake. i honestly don't have an opinion of her? not really. i mean after hanging out with pilar i was hoping felix wouldn't go back to lake. is her name laken? i feel like her full name is laken. but they also played the "im only like this because my mom is really superficial about stuff and i do like the geeky nice guy but appearances" to "actually screw the norms im gonna makeout with him infront of the whole student body". i honestly thought she was gonna be bi because she kept hitting on mia when she was helping set up for her "date" and "big night" and there was one point where i saw her face fall at something mia said in relation to her and idk i was hoping she'd be bi (i figured early on that victor/mia wasnt gonna work and was like "oh mia/lake would be cute" but now idk.

6. okay on to the "big night", i have one word. NO. i didn't like the peer pressure into having sex. i agreed with felix when he said "your body your choice" but im also disappointed that victor made out with mia and when lake was talking to felix after victor left he didn't try to stand up for victor.

7. on to age gaps because i hadn't really thought of this at first. we'll start with benji/derek: WHAT GRADE IS BENJI?! because that determines my thoughts. if he's a sophomore that meant that he and Derek started dating benji's freshman year and thats eugh, don't do that, don't care if its a gay couple that shouldn't be happening because the maturity of the two characters is DRASTICALLY different (this is also a reason i am not a fan of cmbyn) but that would explain why they were so rocky. hoping the event at the gay bar was open to anyone not just for drinking, but not liking that fact that not one of the adults with victor were like: hey, this is a 16 year old, that's kind of wack when that dude was hitting on victor. that made me question some stuff. although i figure it might be making up for the lack of a gay bar scene in love, simon. but even then, in svthsa it's a restaurant with a bar that some people go to just to drink at, it wasn't just a bar, simon could be there but should NOT have accepted drinks from college kids, not matter how attractive.

8. i loved how bram and simon and their friends helped victor out though. i like how bram was like: hey i know my friends are a lot so here's a gay basketball league becaue there's no one way to be gay. i like how Simon talked about needing help himself just to help victor and how he said his friends were cool with it because it's a community. i like of justin(?) mentioned how being what his parents wanted was putting on a mask and pretending, not him doing drag. my favorite lines from that ep are: "and before you ask my pronouns are they/them/theirs" "'they're all gay? even that guy? he's like [insert really tall number]' 'yeah. you should see him in heels'" "or in simon's case: really unathletic" "and also because bram said that if i wore [the jean jacket] one more time he'd burn it". also katya was there. and the group hug too!

9. the back hand homophobia in relation to family is sad, but realistic and i sincerely hope his parents are kind enough not to be too harsh on victor because of it. anything they say that isn't positive or supportive of victor is bad but i hope they realize that there is more to him than that and that they can come to terms with it because it's not always that hard to be a part of that community and super religious. i am biromantic and catholic. and while there are some things i wont agree on my mom with, i know that it's more of a strike against God for kicking out gay kids from families than it is to be gay, because those parents were given trust by GOD to love those kids no matter what, and be good parents. so in the end, the parents are wrong and harmful and in the case of christians against jesus's teachings to love everyone.

10. this is fan speculation but dont think simon/bram are going through a rough patch? i honestly think it'd be a little cruel to the characters to have on of their actors be producing but then not have that relationship stay. and while it's not set in stone and obviously things happen in the real world, we have no proof script wise about there being a rift. all we have are bad photoshopped ig photos and scenes where two characters are never standing next to each other probably beccaue schedules never link up correctly for minor characters. who knows, maybe nick robinson was filming for a movie where is does have an even more major role than victor's gay guru in a series about victor so his filming time was around that. im gonna keep hope that things are okay.

11. that being said: we need more mainstream wlw content, because someone said it earlier and it really does seem to be catering to straight girls. i'll admit i did freak out when benji played call me maybe which is something i associated with him and victor but then kissed a guy because who wouldn't? we get that serenade and sweetness and then it'a ripped from us. but i did mellow out. if i flipped later it was because victor was making dumb decisions and i had to give myself a moment of compsure before i continued.

in the end, i'd say that there is a lot of growth this series needs to go through, but i also know that some people just aren't going to like it and i get that. but i also know that sometimes the best of stories have rocky starts, nothing is ever perfect from the beginning. and besides, further seasons are on hold until we figure out this covid thing, which means that you bet they're gonna be looking at our feedback. they saw what we thought before, they can do it again

i really did like it but we need more ACTUAL lgbtq+ relationship stuff from this series and better decisions on what we are teaching the younger generations, as well as what we want to focus on and realism within characters. i'm giving it an 8/10, because there is always room for growth and i really hope we get better things out of this than what we have been given in season 2.

I have just finished PQ2. With 91% Persona collection and only one (or five) secret bosses left. I may complete them later.

Major Persona Q2 spoilers under cut.

1. Difficulty

I finish the whole game with Hard without changing the difficulty. It is kind of difficult even for an Etrian Odyssey series player like me. As the enemies get super high HP, the main strategy is to hit all the enemies with their weak point and try to go for an all-out attack. And the boost system in PQ2 is more important than PQ.

The instant kill from Neoto become a lot weaker than what she had in PQ(now she has Bless and Curse attack instead of Light and Dark). And the bosses hit us HARD (Like, full health Yusuke can be killed in one hit Fire Attack from the first boss)

If you get the free DLC Persona, the difficulty will get a lot lower even when you play it in Hard or Risky. 

But when your team become stronger and stronger, the bosses kind of become easier and easier... It would be better if you try to make some sub-Persona for normal enemies and some for the bosses. 

And there are some bugs with the fighting system....but they’re kind of convenient to me so I won’t complain.

2. Characters

Actually, since we have SO many characters in the game, some characters may not even talk much in the main story....but some of the others are out right get a lot of spot-light. (Most people talk about how Hamuko a.k.a P3P FemMC acts like the heroine in PQ2, when most of the P5 characters and other MCs somehow just not being in the center till the end.) And there is nearly no character development for most of the characters, The crossover element is not as important as in PQ. It’s more like since they want to leave, they choose to work together, and become super friendly once they join the team.

(Just like when you play a mobile game. You draw some characters, choose the characters you like to use them in the battle. They are teammate in your game ID but they may or may not know each other in their own story.) But the problems is solved in the special screening(特別上映), most of the character interactions are interesting. I especially like the one with Teddie joins  Haru to cheer up people, shares his secret junk foods to people who feel down. And the interactions between Yukiko and Yusuke are just super funny.

Though the script writer got some setting wrong here and there.(Like, Nanako is P4MC’s cousin not niece. And Hamuko should know Theo has a sister, sometime someone calls a character by their surname sometime call the same characher by their given name etc) I think those mistakes will be fixed in US Version if there is one. 

3. Main Story Line

Beware of all the spoilers...maybe not so much because I have some problem with communicating in English... But still enough to spoil some of the main parts especially near the end.

I won’t say the story is bad like most of the long comments in Amazon JP said. I think it’s quite interesting even with the first 3 labyrinths seem getting the same main idea. And the forth labyrinth summarizes them well. Most of the story focus on charging the movie endings and the character development for Hikari. When she finds her answer and decides to leave the theater which she used to evade her problems in society, I am happy with her.

But after that, the true boss shows herself. She states that she also ‘helps’ other people like Hikari to find a safe place for them to flee from their problems. And she agrees to let Hikari and all the character go because Hikari doesn’t need her shelter anymore. However, Hikari starts talking about friendship and courage and wants to help others leave their own theaters to face their problems, just like what she has been through, seems to ignore the fact that every person deals with different problems and they may not have friends to support themselves. It’s where the story becomes too “moralization” for some players. (Well, the first three labyrinths also mean to teach you something but they’re only Hikari’s problems so I happily accept them.) Hikari and the others use the ‘changed movies’ (with good endings not the hopeless endings other people keep watching) hoping others will understand. In the last minute of the boss fight, our characters are vanished and leave Hikari by herself. She keeps calling for help for some time, the MCs return and give one last attack to the boss......... So the NPCs in their theaters watch the whole thing and both decide they can do things like that too! So they start to leave. This is also a part of the story I feel very awkward.

Well, to conclude if the story line is good or bad, it depends on how do you take the moralization part of the story. If there was not any ‘Hikari please mind your own business’ thing, I think I would enjoy the story much better than now.

But overall I still think it’s not that bad... maybe just because I don’t have high standard towards everything.

Though it’s kind of sad that they leave so fast and just saying goodbye after the finally boss fight.....

4. Maps and Music

Maps become easier than in PQ, but the design still interesting. I like the scenery of last labyrinth very much. And each labyrinth has its own features. 

There are lots of icons for each labyrinth. But new icons only appear when necessary. We won’t get confuse. 

And the music. They’re good to match the atmosphere. Like the two BGM for the ‘out door part’ and the ‘laboratory part” of the Third Labyrinth. The loud and happily crooked sound in the 4th (the BGM become even crookeder for the last couple of floors). And the whisper sound in the 5th is just...super great.

We can also change the normal battle theme into some battle themes used in the previews main games. (Like P3, P3P, P3FES P4, P4G, P5, and the DLC PQ battle themes. By the way, they also make 4 new music for PQ2 original normal bottle theme.)

I just want to complain about the 4th floor on the 5th Labyrinth... Only an one way road provided near the downstairs. We can’t return once we got there...

Overall, the main story may not as good as PQ, but the fighting system is improved and I still enjoy the game very much. 

I don’t think there will be a PQ3...at least not until P6 comes out and it’s definitely not in 3DS any more. Maybe at that time we will get PS14 or something like that LOL

I just hope if they want to do more crossover apart from something like P5U , they could keep the battling system and improve the crossover element at least to PQ standard (I know they don’t want to do similar things in PQ one more time but I think it’s necessary.) 

Well...all of the characters forget what happened once they return home just like in PQ. But they still get to watch movies together. I am happy when Hamuko meet her own team...

And Ryuji had promised Hikari (at least twice if I remember right) they would watch her movie once they returned. So when the team finds the poster of high-school movie making competition, he becomes quiet for a moment, and suggests that they should go to watch it because it seems interesting. I love this little detail about him. (Well, at least we know that Hikari comes from a timeline similar to P5.)

(And I really like the fact the P4 characters love to pick on Akechi so much)

Part 6

Beginning to steer this to it’s conclusion. Spoilers for Fallen Hero Series as always. 

Some thoughts on how MC would be treated by the world if they were not  forced to hide their secrets. How far would Ortega fight for them? Herald and Sidestep centered plot. Also, explores some of the (original?) villains I came up with for this. I’m trying to get better at writing villains right now.

Ranger HQ. Evening.

"Any changes?" Steel asked Moira, one of the professionals on their strike force. She was a military doctor.

The Dark Energy Man lied motionless on his bed. He had just barely eaten some food.

"We have biometric Id. Jake Black. His wife got died to overdose so no surprise he hates the cartel. But changes ? No. He's got brief periods of activity where he gets really excited, and then falls unresponsive. I think he's hallucinating too, we've seen him talk to himself."

"Hmr.. and we can't get Sidestep to check trough an energy absorber..."

"Not unless he wants to run the risk of getting his brain fried" She smiled

"I'll keep it as a last resort" Steel said, impossible to tell if he was serious.

"What's your assessment?."

"He only took the Hero drugs what four days ago? His body must be still adjusting. Changing"

"Very well.. keep me informed. I'll go meet the others..."

Steel strolled to an elevator to the ready room. He adjusted his shirt and pants examining himself in the mirror. It was kind of a routine. Their headquarter had many floors now. Ever since Sidestep had the old one destroyed by HG that is. That's how Steel lost almost all the clothing that used to fit him. Stupid Sidestep. He had to buy new sets of everything and it wasn't easy for someone with so many mods.

"... and that's how they'r creating the Demons" Herald finished explaining. Steel already knew that part.

"So what happened to Cyrus? He didn't seem alright"

"I'm not sure.. I thought I'd lost him. He was't listening to me at all, he was just petrified... and then he went back to normal... sort of."

"He's got a history with mad scientists experimenting on people" Argent pointed out.

"He told me he just needed some time." Ortega spoke a bit worried "He's not sure why, but he admitted he was a bit spooked. I'd be more worried if he had denied the whole thing, which is what he usually did in the past. I.. I think he needs a bit of alone time. Then i'll go talk to him."

"True. Very well... what's your take, Anderson?"

"We have enough to go on against Ellison now. The pictures you got really tell the whole tale Herald. They'r developing a hero drug, it got stolen, sold on the streets, and then they killed the thief to cover it up. Oh and let’s not forget  they are turning people into demons. I think that qualifies as an exception to the west-coast protection he has."

Steel nodded. Time for action then.

"Ortega. You and me go to the Last Gate church along with our strike team... we have to put an end to the experiments"

"Argent... Ellison's car was seen entering FarmaCore's main building's garage so..."

"I get to kick his ass"

Steel smiled "Yes. You and Anderson head to FarmaCore and arrest that twisted shit before he can do anything else."

"What about me?" Herald asked

"You get to stay at the base this time."

"What? Why?"

"Because, we have an immensely powerful boost in our cell, and if contention fails, I don't want Sidestep to be alone to stop him"

"He's not coming either?"

"Not this time... for the same reasons as you. Also, I don't like taking chances if he's not at his best. You tell him. We'll get ready".

Sidestep's room.

Cyrus lied back on his bean bag, completely covered by a blanket on top of it. Hidden from the world.

He didn't know what got to him. The voice had been silent. He had made an *almost* full recovery. He had taken his medication on the hour every hour every day. He hadn't missed a single therapy appointment. He had a fucking psych report saying he was ALMOST normal.

And he just walked into that fucking basement and it triggered next level hallucinations, a panic attack and a complete recalling of the Heartbreak and his first attempt on his life. He had been close. He had tried a few times later after that...

The last one was when he had almost made Herald drop him. The teleporting ray had also been one, he didn't like to admit it but he had hoped it would fail, and that he would just disappear.

But he didn't feel suicidal. Not anymore.

He was starting to like this life he had bargained for.

Even if he wasn't human.

Even if he didn't really had rights.

How.. how had he relapsed so strongly?

He felt he was failing... failing at getting better.  

He didn't want to fall into that hole again. He didn't know if he could crawl his way out again.

"I have to get better" he said aloud. He owed it to Ortega.

After He had pushed Ortega into signing that deal for him...

He owed him for his new life.

Just like he owed him for teaching him about all the things that made him a real person after he broke out.

He owed him so damn much, and he was going to disappoint him. Again.

He remembered what Steel said.

Don't fuck it up.

Well he was going ahead and doing just that just to keep things interesting.

He closed his eyes and covered his face, trying to escape his own thoughts.

On his bean-bag, under his blanket.   -----------------------------------------------------

6 months ago.

"Say again?"

"I want to take the deal"

"You can't be serious!"

"I am serious."

"But this is just... insulting! It's like... like a license to own a dog! No Cyrus! I can't let you...I'm not going to ..."

"Ricardo..."

"No. Definitely not. I won't..."

"...Ricardo"

"Out of the question!"

"Ricardo please. Can you not fight me on this?"

Silence.

The governor took the chance to speak

"Look,  I can't legally make you a human. But nothing stops me from doing THIS under the economic free zone regulations. It's a middle ground"

"If he takes this, people will think this is how it's supposed to end... there is momentum in the media! If we keep at it we can..."

"I can't."

"But this is your fight!"

"I know.. but... i just... can't do it anymore.. please"

Ortega just stood silent. He couldn't give up. He couldn't let Cyrus give up. They had fought so hard... there were online petitions .. people mobilizing to protest in the streets...

Then he looked at Cyrus. He was pleading with him.  With testimony to congress, along with reporters all day long and the hate groups that had emerged against the re-gene cause, the last month had certainly been hell. Panic attacks. Nightmares. His psych test had been a total mess. He was furious at having to use the wheelchair after HG shot him. The physical pain of rehab itself... Trying to walk again....

He couldn't ignore it... he was falling apart with each day. If they continued... he would pay the price.

He took a deep breath and tried to swallow every emotion and intuition telling him this was the wrong choice.

He looked at Cyrus straight in the eyes and asked.

"Look... if we do this, there's no turning back. So I need you to to tell me. Are you completely sure? Is this what you really want?"

Cyrus took a few moments to answer. "Y...Yes. Yes, I want to have a life now, not in 10 years.

Ortega rubbed his face as he tried to cool down.

"Shit...” This was hard... 

“Ok then." I'll sign. I'll sign the thing.. whatever you have to throw at us, i'll sign it. Just... " he pointed a finger at the governor "Just don't cheat us. Please, just don't cheat us later" he pleaded. He felt defeated.

"It's in everybody's best interests. I do stand for the Re-gene cause, but there's only so much I can do without a congress law" He slided the papers to them. "Maybe congress will solve this in the near future, and this doesn't mean others won't continue the fight he started"

Only Ortega signed. Cyrus's signature wasn't valid, since only humans could sign legally binding documents.

"So" he forced himself to ask, as he signed, paper after paper. "How will this... how's this going to work?" He spoke in the most neutral tone he could manage, when in truth he wanted to break the table with his modded fist.

"You'll be assigned guardianship. You are entitled to acquire the equivalent of monthly payment of that of a ranger as long as Cyrus works as a "Honorary" member. You can administer it as you see fit to cover his expenses. Also you can ..."  And they went on, and on, explaining how Cyrus's legal non-humanhood, whatever it was, would work.

Other re-genes where being offered similar deals. Not as good as this one tough, they couldn't even choose guardians they trusted.

"Non human person". A new legal status, only valid in the west coast.

If Cyrus agreed to this, most of the others would too, that was a given. And they would probably forfeit the right to be truly heard by the public... they would become yesterday's news. The legal case would be off the front page.

The Governor nodded as he signed the papers as well.

"Very well then... it's done."

....

"I know you think i'm giving up" Cyrus spoke as Ortega pushed the wheelchair through the underground tunnel to avoid the media.

"I understand why... But it feels so wrong."

"I know but... yesterday I was just a piece of property  owned by the state Ricardo."

"And what are you now?"

"A protected piece of property"

"That's still not a human"

"We've talked to the lawyers... It's better than spending 10 more years in limbo. I don't think i can do that Ricardo. This way I can join the rangers... I can be someone useful..."

"Even if you'r protected, it's not..." Ortega began

"Protected by you." Cyrus interrupted "And that's enough for me"

Ortega hadn't known what to answer to that. He still didn’t. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The present.

As the ranger vehicles left the headquarters, a man in a nearby bar dialed a number

Herald was at the situation room.

Steel and Ortega had found and defeated a few demons in the church's grounds after a small skirmish. After that, the church had surrendered and the leaders where being arrested. Several people being held in cells were released too.

Argent and Anderson had faced resistance from FamaCore's security. They were looking for Ellison inside the premises.

Patrol cars were at his homes, and several other locations... still no sign of him.

He was about to call Steel again for an update, when an explosion shook the building. He braced himself. All the lights turned red, then the security cameras died. All of them. Then the alarm sounded.

Gunfire and screams. Herald ran to help,.  

A group of veteran strike team members where fighting the creatures already emerging from the elevator shaft. Demons.

One of them  was already lying on the floor, bleeding from several energy weapon wounds.

He activated his wrist energy emitter and took cover, firing at the things as well. Another one fell down the shaft. Two more came from the stairs. He activated a panel on the wall, sealing the entrance with a thick metal bars coming off the ceiling. 

“Quick! To the emergency staircase!" They did as he said. He flew trough the corridors towards the armory. He was going to need heavy weapons to face these things.

He couldn't prepare for the figure materializing in front of him.

"Going somewhere?" The fist connected straight to his gut, and given his current speed, it made him bend over in the air.

Herald managed to roll away. Durability was a good power to have sometimes.

He looked up at the grinning figure.

A dark ninja-style suit. A mercenary villain called Darkfist. Ortega, and Argent had been beaten by this one in single combat before. Shit.

"What's the matter? Giving up already?"

Herald remembered. Darkfist's powers was very specific. when he attacked, he could teleport short distance, with energy infused fists. So anyone fighting the Villain usually got pummeled before he could do respond.

"Just warming up" he stood up. He had to distract Darkfist so the personnel would be safe.

He aimed his wrist emitter and took his shot... Darkfist teleported in a puff of black smoke... he braced for the worst.

The building shook. An explosions. Alarm sounds. Sidestep removed his blanket. All lights were red.

Fuck.

He rushed out of his room. He had to get to the stairs to get to the ready room... Only there was a demon in the stairs. He froze. He could feel the minds.. many demons.

There was an emergency stair hidden behind a panel in the living-room. He could get up trough it and...

"Hello Cyrus. I hear that is the name you took now?"

He paused. He hadn't sensed this mind. An old, thin and tall man, with grey hear and a black diamond mask, with brass engraved cane. He wore a dark suit, black gloves and a black sweater. Not the most creative Villain suit. Standing in his way.

"Who are you supposed to be?"

"You can call me Phatos."

"I can call you whatever I want after i beat you down!" No time for this. Sidestep lunged for a quick takedown.

The old man just moved out of the way and he missed by a longshot.

"Oh.. you've goten slower" He pushed Sidestep with the tip of his cane, and he almost lost balance

"What the...?" He attacked again, but this time, his enemy wasn't even there. He hit a wall, and cursed at his pained fingers.

"Tsk Tsk... What a disappointment. And you had made such a name for yourself. Sidestep and all."

"Who the fuck are you?" Sidestep knew the voice... but he couldn't place it. And he could not sense his mind at all.

"Oh come now. Don't you remember me ?" He lips turned into a smile under his mask.

Sidestep focused. There it was. He could sense it. It was hiding... but no longer. He could sense it's shields. Strong shields. Very like his own.... familiar shields...

He took a step back.

He knew this man... he had trained with him. Him and his brothers. He had been at the farm.. he had taught them... everything.

"Carl?" Sidestep asked finally

"It's Pathos now... But i'm glad to see you brain hasn't melted... yet" He took a step forward.

"What the heck are you doing here?" Sidestep said assuming a defensive stance

"What does it look i'm doing?" He clicked a button on his cane and a short blade emerged from the tip.

He trusted the cane and Sidestep dodged... but the blade wasn't where it was supposed to be. He got a nasty cut on his arm.

Pathos sneered. "You know ever since i retired, I've found there's a really enormous demand for people like me. I do charge a lot for my services, but i'm doing you for free"

Pathos slashed again, but Sidestep trapped the blade with his bare hands.

"Oh. I see you haven't gone totally soft"

Sidestep took the cane off his hands and pointed it at him.

"Why? What could you possibly gain from this?"

"You really don't remember?"

Sidestep felt the immediate pressure against his shields. He strengthened them as hard as he could... but his mind just went trough as if they weren't there...

"Wha..."

"It's no use being in the strongest of Alpha leagues if your opponent, even a Beta like me has the key to your  front door Fivofour."

"I'm Cyrus!" He strengthened his shields again and pushed him back. He trusted the cane at Pathos... but it became a snake in his hands, hissing and biting at him. He dropped it. "How the fuck.."

"Experience makes the master. Remember I taught you everything you know. And you have let yourself develop a huge weakness... let it fester even" Pathos smiled. "It's a secret we share, do you remember Doll? Do you remember how I fixed you after they brought to me in pieces?" For the Briefest instant, his face turned into that of the monster... the origin of the voice... the Heartbreak.

Sidestep recoiled... but his back hit the wall.

"Do you remember when I came to help you because you wanted to kill yourself ? When you made me your tool, and tried to have me strangle you?  This obsession you gave me.. it never went away." Phatos continued, clearly enjoying Sidestep’s pained expression.

The old man raised his cane and attacked again. Sidestep dodged and blocked trying to disarm him once more, but he just couldn't outsmart his old mentor. Every move, he did, Pathos could predict. He gave him another cut on the left leg this time.

"When you escaped I realized i had lost my chance... only killing others gave me some respite...But we both know how these induced obsessions work right?.. If i finally kill you.. Then maybe if I'll be free, don’t you agree?."

They engaged once more. Sidestep was stronger... faster.. but there was little he could do against someone who could dodge faster than he could think.

With a final deception, Pathos knocked him down, driving his head against a wall. ......................................

Three strikes in quick succession. Each time, Darkfist had teleported in the middle of his swing. There wasn't any time to react... Herald was just getting beaten over and over against this guy.

His back was against a window when... A window.

He shot his wrist weapon shattering the glass.

Darkfist ran at him, ready to strike again.

Herald waited.. he waited...until...

Now!

The moment Darkfist's body started blurring and preparing his teleportation, he jumped backwards.

As predicted, he got another brutal fist to the face.... but after that he flew upwards.

Darkfist didn't fly at all. His powers where teleporting to attack. There was no reports of him ever teleporting without performing his "Dark Punch". So he had no way to avoid the fall.

The 7th floor was probably high enough.

“Splat” Herald said.

Ellison entered some commands in the console, and the power dampener device deactivated, opening the containment cell.

Pathos entered the room followed by a Demon carrying the unconscious Sidestep.

The Dark Energy man stood up, with a smile on his lips.

"Ahh.. High priest. It’s good to see you again. It’s been so many years"

Ellison bowed to the man.

"I am sorry. We didn't expect your return to take place in this unclean vessel... one of our workers was... unfaithful. He has been dealt with."

The Dark Energy man simply walked out of the cell.

"It is of no consequence. I have almost consumed this man's personality. I am in control. His quests for vengeance was pointless.. but entertaining" The inhuman thing behind his eyes smiled. "Your technology and the teachings of the Elder one have created the right tool to tear the veil between our realms. I am pleased."

"You honor us. If you would follow us, we will guide you to our preparations, oh great one"

They began walking towards the exit, as countless demons cleared the path outside.

Ellison whispered to Phatos. "Where is Darkfist?"

"The flyboy killed him. Can't say I saw that coming."

The Dark Energy Man stopped and turned to the Demon holding Sidestep.

"An offering? The one that killed my last vessel too.  Most appropriate high priest." He nodded to Ellison "The elder one will devour his power immediately after his coming." Pathos smiled as well.

My journey to Hell

I remember when it all started. It was when I was taking my break from this site (when I should’ve been revising), and I was browsing DeviantArt.

My journey down the rabbit hole began when I came across this account that did fanart involving characters from OK KO engaging in holy Christian activities, like denouncing Atheism as Satanism:

But then, I found out that it was part of this collection...

Most of it was just ironic and intentionally bad art, but then, after some searching, I came across some stamps.

I thought to myself something along the lines of “What the fuck”, and “This must be some kind of a joke. So, I went to this guy’s user page, and it all went downhill from there.

First of all, I must admit, this guy has some form of intellect to him, with him occasionally displaying his expertise with computers, which I can personally applaud.

However, in order to actually get to that point, I needed to go through boatloads of confusing and morally questionable content.

First of all, this guy has made it clear numerous times in the past that he is a sufferer of autism, so it’s likely that you’d find a lot of art based on specific interests, but these ideas and interests are so closed and obscure that they’re truly something to behold.

He describes himself as an advocate for numerous ideas, but they all just appear so trivial. For example:

He really wants to have Luvs (a brand of diapers, by the way) imported to his home country of Australia, Lord knows why:

He protested against McDonald’s on the issue of child obesity, using low quality thinly-veiled weight gain fetish art (more on that later):

He also doesn’t like how Avon (a company specialising in feminine beauty products) has a mostly-female board of directors:

And, to top it all off, he refuses to believe that men can be victims of sexual assault:

(By the way, the generic white man with the Tom Baker-brand thousand-yard stare is how he draws himself.)

He also believes that’s it’s extremely important for cartoon characters (including non-humans) to have navels, and also believes that one of the most important life lessons you would teach kids is why they have one. My best guess is that it’s all just for the satisfaction of his not-so closeted fetishes, but this guy never gives straight answers so I can’t really tell:

Speaking of not-so closeted fetishes, he’s also made a hefty load of fan-art of cartoon characters for the raising of awareness on child obesity, based on this image that you might have seen floating around the web about ten years ago:

The results are rather unsettling. I mean, he’s sticking to an idea that he wishes to advocate for, but you’d think that after about a hundred of these damn things he would have made the message clear enough (yes, he made over a hundred of these things).

Actually, you know what, let’s zoom in on that last image, and think about how he actually communicates to people. I know this might sound harsh, considering that I’m aware of his autism, but I’m well aware, as someone who suffers from a slightly more minor form of his condition, that communication is only really tough when speaking in person, with typing in the privacy of your own room being much easier; and while he does type in coherent sentences, he avoids questions as often as a politician. Here’s a few discussions between him and those who don’t approve of his art:

Oh yeah. He also answers his opponents in a debate with the question “do you drive a Mitsubishi?”, because apparently that company is the personification of evil, because they build vehicles and tools that assist in chopping down trees. I mean, Mercedes do the same thing, but I don’t go around telling their owners that they worship Satan!

Anyhoo, back to his odd interests.

He seems to have some odd fixation for this brand of toilet cleaner, called Toilet Duck, which has an odd duck-shaped head. He says he first gained an interest for the generally-obscure bleach brand, when he first heard a news story about a burglar, who was found pleasuring himself, using the head of the product. Let’s leave it at that for now.

He also has a strong interest in parenthood. (I guess the man has thought to himself that these events would just remain fantasies.)

He appears to be attempting to give his pictures a cutesy-vibe, but his unnatural drawing style stops them from looking anywhere outside of creepy.

And finally, perhaps his most confusing and unexplainable interest of them all: bumpbows!

If you’ve heard of this guy before, then chances are that it was through this. He first found out about bumpbows about two years ago. They functioned as a solution to a minor problem in pregnancy, involving the misshaping of the navel. Since that’s two interests for the price of one, obviously he was going to jump on the bumpbow bandwagon almost immediately after he discovered them!

(This one’s my personal favourite!)

He’s even made a group about them!

(I love how this group doesn’t have any pictures of bumpbows showing their actual intended purpose!)

Now, it might seem all right (if not, only a little bit creepy), but things start getting weird when he starts getting people to use bumpbows, not because they’re expecting children, but as a fashion statement, as well as raising awareness for autism (even though there’s barely any correlation between them), among other hard-pressing issues. I guess I could maybe start wearing bumpbows at anti-war rallies, but, I digress.

(Spoiler alert: There doesn’t appear to be any sign of that group actually going ahead with the plan.)

However, perhaps the strangest of his ideas for bumpbows, would be throwing parties, with them functioning as the primary dress-code.

He’s even thrown his own private parties! (By private, I mean he was the only one there.)

But I’d say the weirdest thing about them is that there’s this strange sexual undertone to them. Now, actually, I wouldn’t say that they’re undertones, considering that he has outright said that they should be adult-only events. He’s even regularly connected them with sex. It all seems so weird, since he usually makes drawings with such an innocent tone (at least on the surface).

(Well, at least we now know why he’s interested in that Toilet Duck bottle!)

I could go on forever about this guy, but this post is getting long enough as it is. So I’ll just leave a couple of links, just please don’t send any hate over to him. I know it sounds hypocritical of me, but this guy’s getting enough flack as it is. We need fewer theories of change and more community organizing

Hi everyone, quick disclaimer. I am still bitter and annoyed over the Game of Thrones finale, which I am sure many of you can relate, so this blog post may be affected with occasional spoiler-free snarkiness that may not make any sense if you haven’t kept up with Game of Thrones. Also, a quick reminder: This is the last week for filling out the Fundraising Perception Survey, so please do so if you haven’t. It’ll take 10 minutes and the data will be valuable for our sector.

A while ago I read Jan Masaoka’s thought-provoking article “Aspirin and Democracy,” where she discusses the effects of the professionalization of the nonprofit sector. One such effect, according to Jan, is that:

“new executive directors can write personnel policies and grant proposals while practicing self-care, but they don’t know how to get 5,000 people to a protest demonstration or 50 parents to a city council meeting.”

This article and sentence have stuck with me. Our sector, and progressives in general, has a problem with excessive intellectualization. We’ve become really good at it. There’s nothing we love more than summits, white papers, theories of change, data, coming up with new terminologies (*cough, solutions privilege), and voting with sticky dots. We’ve basically become more like Bran, less like Sansa or Arya.

The problem is that the intellectualizing becomes self-reinforcing. Summits beget committees, committees beget white papers, white papers beget summits, etc. And after exhausting bouts of thinking and talking about stuff, we feel really good about ourselves, believing and getting people to believe we actually accomplished something. (Much like Bran these last three seasons). Meanwhile, we are being out-organized. I heard someone say recently that progressives come to a knife fight with a spreadsheet.

We need to bring balance back. Working in the field of education inequity, I was told that “If you can get 20 angry parents to dress in the same T-shirts and pack the school board meeting, you can get whatever you want.” This is sad, but unfortunately this is also how most of the world works nowadays, that the loudest voices tend to win, and they are often from those of privilege. And our sector, founded to help lift up the voices of those who don’t always get heard, have in many ways lost sight of that.

Many of us are starting to lose our community organizing skills, and some of us are not even learning or teaching them anymore. I studied community organizing as part of my MSW and have lost these skills, barely able to remember the last time I called up people on the phone, explaining urgent issues and why they should care, and helping to coordinate transportation, and rallying funders to help pay for bus tokens and childcare so that people from marginalized communities could pack the school board or City Council meeting.

Our ability to mobilize our community is one of the most important things we can do in light of growing injustice. We cannot white-paper our path to a just society. We cannot theory-of-change ourselves toward an inclusive community. And as many colleagues have pointed out, we also cannot program our way to an equitable world. Thinking and talking about issues and addressing the ongoing symptoms of injustice are pivotal to our work, but they cannot be our end goal, and our field may have forgotten that. We must simultaneously address the root causes of injustice, and the only way to do that effectively is through organizing. All of us, not just advocacy organizations.

Luckily, there are leaders in the field who understand that. Last week I spoke at an event hosted by Sacred Heart Community Service, a multi-service Community Action Agency that serves as a great case study and beacon for all of us. SHCS, led by its ED Poncho Guevara, has been increasingly involved with community organizing. According to Poncho:

“It’s clear to us that organizing is the most impactful and powerful tool to fight poverty. Ultimately we had to come to terms with the fact that the reason we serve over 60,000 people annually is a failure of political leadership. Duh! If our members and their allies are not pushing for decent wages, immigrant rights, tenant protections, affordable homes, or decent schools, poverty is only going to get worse.”

Unfortunately, the move toward increased organizing comes with a price for SHCS, including losing support from donors and funders:

“By [our] being vocal on these issues, some donors were not gonna be happy. Some feel that feeding a family or providing English classes are more acceptable than stronger rent control or protecting immigrants from the threat of deportation. We believe in both service and systems change, and we do both. But this is uncomfortable for some donors and funders more invested in the charity model.”

I asked Poncho if it was worth it. His response was an unequivocal yes. SHCS has succeeded many meaningful policy wins in the last several years, including raising wages for tens of thousands of people and extending protections for countless tenants and immigrants:

“I often explain how inspired I am by one of the immigrant moms that lead these campaigns, her courage and leadership, etc., but let me be honest: It is worth it because instead of feeling frustrated and powerless by the conditions that lead people to our doors, we are in the fight. Our members are pushing elected leaders to respond boldly to their concerns. We organize, rather than living in fear and frustration.”

We all need to be more involved in organizing, whether we are an advocacy organization or not. This is not a dis on those of us who focus on direct service work, or who provide the sector with much-needed data and strategies. Again, these elements are all important. (Although I make fun of sticky dots a lot and will continue to do so, they too have a time and place). But the balance is off. Many of us have become complacent with an unjust system, comfortable to exist within and theorize about it instead of figuring out how to change it.

Organizing is not easy. It is messy. It is incredibly time-and-energy-consuming. Sometimes, it is heartbreaking. We already have so many things to do, and funding for organizing is always a challenge (Funders, you need to fund community organizing, quickly and significantly).

And it is nerve-wracking. Nothing fills me with dread like having to speak for two minutes in front of City Council, watching as the timer counts down. Imagine how much harder it is for our community members who may not speak English fluently, who may have transportation and childcare challenges, who may have been told repeatedly by society that their voices do not matter.

But if we are to move from charity to justice, helping our community members who are most marginalized to be heard is one of the most effective and enduring things we can do. Let’s restore one of the strengths of our sector, and one of our sacred duties. Let’s mobilize the full power of our community, constantly and unapologetically, in service of justice. We must intellectualize less and organize more. The soul of our sector, and the well-being of our community, depends on it. Not with dragon fire or by thinking and staring into space, organizing is how we will truly break the Wheel of Injustice.

Man, WHY DO dreams make RGB dream about himself dying in famous silent film stunts gone horribly wrong? And he’s so utterly resigned to living all this out until he wakes up that he’s just unfazed and impatient to wake up

Now this entire page is… yikes. That’s very clearly the jacket colors RGB wore in The Hook. The ONLY color we’ve ever seen in any of his dreams. This is different. His sleeves and the… orangey-yellow pattern. Knives? Is an iron involved in how he “really died”?

That’s not the way you go around picking up irons, and my default reaction to this page is “I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING BUT DON’T PUT THAT ON YOUR FACE”

This… definitely explains WHY RGB made so much more fuss over being ironed that getting freaking nails hammered into his feet

Yo so I just assumed on my last read that Cell attached Hero’s fingers to her own hands for Extra Dexterity, but actually, she’s molded the color/substance into balls and stuck those on the ends of black lines to make needles. What do you think Minako's Enneagram is? I'd definitely put her as a mixture of primarily a 1, 3, 7 and 8 with some shades of 4, 5 and 6 what do you think? It definitely hits some key Minako-points. Having a "sense of mission" to improve the world. Striving after "higher values" despite self-sacrifice. And hello "instinct and passion controlled by conviction and judgement" if that doesn't sound like Minako "constantly make observations so you can adequately make snap decisions" Aino idk what does. A lot of these points tie in to Minako's sense of duty and dedication to being a senshi. She's left behind her personal dreams for the sake of saving the world, and what "higher value" is there than saving the ENTIRE PLANET??? Between building utopia-esque Crystal Tokyo and just trying to make people happy with her music, Minako definitely has a drive to improve the world, but I have to point out: who DOESN'T?? There are a lot of points in being a 1 that really drive me away from it for Minako too, and I think looking at them makes Minako's similarities to a 1 seem less like "this is her personality type" and more like "these are pretty common values".First and foremost 1's are super morality-driven. They feel a need to justify their actions, are overconcious of contradicting their morals,  and are super hung up on right versus wrong. I'm not saying Minako is perfectly a-okay with all wrong-doers ever, but she herself has no issues going into morally gray areas to get what she wants. She will absolutely flirt some concert tickets out of some poor sap just so she can see her favorite idol for free. Moral superiority does not a Minako make. 1's also have this need to stay rigid and I QUOTE "keep the lid on passion" and HAHA NO. NOT MINA. Further the 1's need to "make the world a better place" can also really deal on a personal, "I'm going to teach you better level" that doesnt fit Minako. Let's look at anime Jadeite (I know Mina didn't interact with him sh). A 1 would look at his "women suck" nonesense and feel a need to educate him, improving the world by making this guy less of an asshole. Minako would crescent beam his ass and move on. So reevaluating my earlier points. Minako's self sacrifice and efforts to change the world don't seem to line up with the Morality aspect of a 1. PGSM Minako gets a great deal of joy wheb her songs make others happy, it's  GREAT and she LOVES THAT. But lbr she also gets off on the attention and the performing aspect of being an idol. CT is less a pillar of Minako's "deep need to improve the world" and more an offshoot of her dedication to duty and her own personal need to be fulfilled. So while Minako can exhibit 1-like behaviour, I don't see think she has 1-like intentions.2 - The HelperAgain we have the idea of self-sacrifice but this time for the sake of others, still in line with Minako, but the 2 takes this to the extreme of "people pleasing" and sacrificing your needs for everyone else's and that diverges from Minako. Is Minako gonna put herself behind her girls? for big things like emotional distress and physical well-being? Absolutely. For little things like who gets the best slice of cake? Hell no. And anyone BESIDES said girls can kiss Minako's ass. So is Minako an empathetic people-person? Yes. Does Minako value others more than herself? Not really. Girl might make a few slight image changes to help her career, but if millions of fans love a falsley constructed Minako instead of the True Authentic Aino Minako? What's the point? Not a 2.3 - The AchieverHELLO YES THIS IS VERY MUCH TRUE TO THE MINAKO WAY. Almost everything I read about this got a check mark on the Minako list. Adaptable, charming, energetic, "the 'stars' of human nature" if that doesn't make you think "Minako" then Minako thinks you're living your life wrong. 3's have "problems with workaholism and competition" *POINTS ADAMANTLY AT PGSM* REMEMBER WHEN MINAKO WAS STUCK IN A HOSPITAL BED AND STILL WORKING? REMEMBER WHEN MINAKO TRIED TO GIVE UP BEING AN IDOL TO FOCUS EXCLUSOVELY ON SENSHI DUTIES? WORKAHOLIC. REMEMBER WHEN THE ONLY WAY TO GET MINAKO TO /NOT/ QUIT IDOL WORK WAS FOR REI TO GOAD HER INTO COMPETITION. THIS IS MINAKO'S LIFE. Further, 3's desperatly seek to succeed in order to get positive attention to the point that they will abandon their own desires to reach whatever is defined as "success" Gosh, if that doesn't sound exactly like Minako giving up volleyball, giving up her dream of being an idol, and giving up her normal life, for the sake of living as Venus. For a 3 this goes to the point that they will put all of their feelings in a box labeled "deal with never" for the sake of success. And I again want to point out dying PGSM Minako, who decided it was okay if she died early so long as the past mission was completed. AT THE AGE OF 14. DEFINITELY NOT AFRAID OF SURGERY, NOT AFRAID OF HELPLESSLY DYING, NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING. WHO HAS FEELINGS??? NOT MINAKO, SHE HAS A MISSION. At the end of the day a 3 wants to be distinguished and wants to be praised, and when you break it down, what more does Minako really want than that? She is absolutly a 3 in my book.4 - The IndividualistReading through this, I'm getting that a 4 is very socially withdrawn, struggles to relate to others and always puts themself first, and it's just really NOT Minako to me. Minako is CAPABLE of being by herself (see Sailor V) but the only instances I can think of where Minako would PREFER to be by herself is when her being with a team is going to cause pain to said team (ie PGSM Minako staying away from the senshi so they won't be sad about her inevitable death). 4 is not a team player and Minako is a team LEADER. Minako has a few qualities here, but overall this just isn't her.5 - The Investigator This one is all about gaining information: observing things, learning things, and all with the intent of using said knowledge to protect yourself. Now Minako is all about getting info to fight against the enemy, but this still really isn't feeling very Minako to me. A 5 needs information and they need it on their terms, if you tell a 5 how something is, they aren't liable to believe you until they can discover it to be true on their own. Further, a 5 tends to self-isolate rather than engage in things actively. Minako first and foremost uses her knowledge SPECIFICALLY to actively use it in conflict with others. A 5 wants to learn how to order a coffee so that when they actually go order a coffee they don't make a mistake and look stupid. Minako doesn't give a shit, she'll talk at the barista for 30 minutes about why they have to say "tall" instead of small. Minako will feed you salty porridge and blow up your radio because she didn't take the time to actually LEARN how to take care of a sick person. A 5 needs knowledge to feel useful, Minako wants knowledge to destroy her enemies and get ahead of others. Reading all of this, 5 jumps out to me as an Ami. Ami is the one who is going to self-isolate and spend 30 days studying moon technology so the senshi can utilize. Minako doesn't actually care HOW said moon tech works, she just cares how she can use it to protect the kingdom. Ami's job is to get knowledge, Minako's job is to trust Ami's knowledge and translate it into immediate action. 6 - The Loyalistthis one was quick n easy. Yes Minako is loyal to her god damn duty. But a 6 is a follower, not a leader, someone who depends to much on what others are doing. A 6 has no confidence in their judgement and avoids making important decisions. Minako is nothing if not decisive and girl COMMITS to her decision. If she starts out the night thinking karaoke is the best way to spend the evening, and ends the night in a jail cell? Worth it. She stands by her choice all the fuckin way. Not a 6 for me.7 - The Enthusiast this is another one that clicked a lot of good points for me. Extroverted, playful, versatile. A 7 has an incredibly quick mind and tries to cram as much life as they can into every minute. Sound familiar? Minako is all about stuffing as much as she can into a day, and on a fun, flighty level Minako is very much a 7. Because of their quick mind, a 7 can be so great at so many things, but very removed from what they actually want out of life. Their response to not knowing what they want is to just try more of everything, and this is exactly how I see Minako's life playing out IF SHE WASN'T A SENSHI. Senshihood is the one place that truly challenges Minako, and relys on absolutely all of her talents. I see Minako as getting a great deal of fulfillment out of being a senshi, even if it comes at personal costs, and I see non-senshi Minako running herself in the ground trying find that sort of fulfillment elsewhere in the world. She's going to have goals. She's going to achieve them. She's going to get bored. She's going to move on. Our Minako certainly has a lot of 7 in her, but she wouldn't be our Minako without also being Sailor Venus.8 - The ChallengerThis one was also quick for me. Minako loves a challenege, and she sure as hell loves to challenege others, but beyond that, an 8 has an overwhelming need to control everything. And while Minako certainly likes to have control, she can recognize when it might be better to let it go (see: letting Ami take charge of gathering information). Minako has a defined role as a leader, but a good leader isn't controlling, a good leader is decisive and delegates control and that's the kind of leader I see Minako as.9 - The PeacemakerThis whole thing talks a bunch about spirituality and cosmicness and blah blah not Minako. From what I gather, a 9 would rather focus on the qualities of other than the qualities of themself, and Minako has too much fuckin ego for that.So I put our girl as a solid 3, with a lot of leaning towards 7. She has lot's of qualities that fall in line with the other categories too (because OF COURSE SHE HAS TO MAKE THIS DIFFICULT) but I think at the end of the day she's using those qualities the way a 3 would.

this show. just had. the first nb character ive ever seen on mainstream tv ever. and like. i know netflix isnt a television network, but its mainstream in its own right. degrassi was the first tv show in canadian history to have a trans man as a main character on the network much music. (listen,,, i know they treated adam like a piece of shit and he was played by a cis girl but its still a huge deal to me. he was literally the first time i ever heard that being trans is a thing and the show presented it as a normal part of life’s different struggles and ways to be and i can never thank them enough for that).

anyway. the first episode of the season yael was uncomfortable with their tiddies and i immediately was like “yael is trans” bc, yeah, cis girls can have that problem, but somethieng about the way it was presented !!! they were tugging at their shirt bc they were inherently uncomfortable with the clothes they were wearing, not bc of an outside factor like being aware after someone made a comment. it felt. undeniably internal.

and then lola took them bra shopping and i was like “ok a typical “”””girly scene””””, please dont ruin this.” and yael said they wish their boobs werent there at all and an employee who overheard was like “hey !!! wanna try on this binder?” and yael did and. cried. they cried bc they finally saw a glimpse of their real self. and i was like !!!!!! degrassi mentioned and showed adam binding but they showed him in pain. which is a totally valid story/perspective to tell. but. lets show trans ppl being happy!!! and affirmed!!! lets break down the “i knew since i was 4″ trope and show someone who realizes who they are later in life. let them be confused, conflicted, worried, even hostile at the thought of them being trans. let them be uncertain.

another amazing scene was lola actually telling yael about a youtuber she watched who’s genderq*eer. especially now, its really important to show that not everyone arrives at their own identity on their own and sometimes other people help them along their journey and i just!!!!! i still cant believe thsi show DID that. they are nonchalantly teaching kids and parents that the gender binary isnt real, and we’re seeing it from a(n initially) confused person’s point of view thats really easy to empathize with. and i love how lola, baaz, and vijay started using they pronouns right off the bat, like that was soooo incredibly wonderful to see. idek where im going with this anymore. i didnt write all of waht i wanted to say but im too jittery to get it organized. thank you degrassi. youve had (and have) a lot (A LOT) of problems, esp regarding race and class, but you can also do things lik e this !

A puzzle that was left out in the Collection room, pieced together into a complete picture. After translating the pattern of the picture according to the workings of the unique encryptions of the Cult of Rebirth, the obtained content is as follows:

“To Geraldi, there’s no need for you to seriously treat his daughter at all; just be aware that after his daughter passes away...You’ll need to find a way to transfer all the properties of the Modro Family, including the Western-style Mansion to the Son of God through any means necessary...”

There are 20 pieces to this puzzle that conveys this information. If we were to convert it to 4 digits, the numbers will be “0020”; and it seems like these four digits have some correlation with the locked code case in the same room where the puzzle was found, and the secrets hidden within.
