#sometimes of artists ALREADY ON TUMBLR who wrote to NOT REPOST their art on their blog

Tumblr media
there is so much art reposting (and subsequent reposted art sharing) in this fandom. Is that a topic that fell off the face of the earth in the late 2010s and no one took the time to explain to you why and how you shouldn't do it?
First, reposting art means saving or copying the art to create a new post and/or putting it on another platform yourself. On tumblr, reblogging (the two arrows 🔄) is not reposting, as the original poster is still directly linked to it.
Reposting art without asking the artist's permission is rude more often than not. Many artists even have a "do not repost" warning on their page.
Why is this rude? There are a vast range of reasons, and the first one is always because the artist, a person, expressed a wish, and that's on you to respect it.
Other reasons include, for example, fanartists wanting to see the fandom's feedback and be inspired to continue to share (shaking hands with the fanfic writers), artists needing the word-of-mouth advertising as they depend on commissions and/or independent shops income for living, and just generally wanting to keep their own stuff close.
As fellow fans and/or art enjoyers, not having clear credit and link back to the artist is also sad and frustrating. What if we wanted to see more? What if there was a whole collection of similar things and we'll never know?
I know you want to share the cute art you saw elsewhere specifically because you liked it, and it comes from a place of love. I get that. You could share it with your friends behind closed door (ex: private discord server), or post a link to the art and the artist instead of posting the piece on its own.
On a case-by-case basis, you can ask an artist if you can repost their art. Some will allow it under certain conditions! Your responsibility is to respect their wishes. That is a person sharing their creation. Be nice.
"credit to the artist" is not credit.
"I don't know who made this, if anyone knows tell me" is not credit.
"this was from pinterest" is not credit. (<- pinterest is 90% repost, not a source at all)
Posting art that isn't yours is so rude and sharing reposted art just as much.
This is frustrating. Stop reposting art without asking, and especially stop reposting art without credit. And stop sharing reposted art where clear consent wasn't given by the original artist.

Somehow only today I found your non-pixel art artworks on the Instagram page through one of your posts here and I love it! Never seen them on Twitter before, I think. Is there a special reason for such separation of styles? Will you be posting more of it here on Tumblr?
When I started drawing "seriously" instagram was the best social platform to share art: there were no stories and reels, just images, so it was natural for me to use it. Over time, however, the nature of instagram has changed, it became increasingly difficult to get noticed among the posts and, with the desire to "become famous", on the advice of a friend I decided to create a Twitter account, where according to him it was easier to grow. (I'm ashamed of it, but in those days I was really obsessed with likes and followers) So when I started on Twitter I was just reposting the same things as Instagram and if I'm not mistaken at the time I was participating in the October challenge "Season of Bad Guys" organized by Craig Gleason on instagram. They were the same posts on two different platforms with a different level of interaction, on Twitter if I reached 5 likes it was a lot. Apparently growing up on Twitter wasn't as easy as I was told... However I felt that I didn't like Instagram anymore, several years had passed and I was always the small fish in a sea that was too big, I hadn't managed to make friends with any other artist and my list of followers had turned into a phone book, there were only people who followed me because they knew in real life. So, when I started making pixelart for fun, I decided to start completely from scratch and rather than create a new instagram account, I preferred to use the twitter account I already had. And so, my twitter became exclusively pixelated. However, I continue to do digital art, in fact last year I also followed a course in digital painting and concept art, and even if I like it and sometimes I miss dedicating myself completely to that, unfortunately pixelart is the only thing that has made me earn some money. Tumblr is a whole new world, I haven't quite figured out how to use it yet, but it might be the next platform I run off to to escape the stressful things about Twitter. So I don't know, maybe there's a new quarantine and I'm going to study 3D modeling and I'm dedicating this account only to lowpoly characters. Excuse me if I wrote a ton of stuff, I really like chatting and twitter has never allowed me to do so much in a single post, to make it up to you here is an illustration which is neither on twitter nor on instagram.

Hello, I hope your day is going well!
I saw that you reposted some akiangel art, the “gay sex kills” meme
It’s cool that you thought it was funny enough to save, but as a general rule, please refrain reposting art!
That particular artist already has that posted on tumblr
Reposts like that are a bit stressful for artists to deal with, they unintentionally discredit the og artist and make it difficult for people to find the og artist — especially when it is reposted without credit!
Reblogging on the other hand is a great way to support them and spread their work, so I would def recommend finding the og post on their blog and reblogging instead!
I know it was just a lighthearted repost of a meme, I can tell you meant no harm, I hope I don’t sound mean!
Just as a general rule, try not to repost, it’s always better to reblog straight from the artist or get permission to repost with credit 💜
thank you for warning me kindly and you are absolutely right. i didn't know that the artist was on tumblr when i posted it. after i posted it somebody wrote the artist's name in the comments, and i thought "oh now people can find the og artist, that's good."
because i have a small blog, i didn't think many people would see it - which is a mistake on my part because tumblr's tag system works differently from other sites' algorithms. now i see i shouldn't repost any art. it doesn't matter if i didn't know the artist had an account here. posting someone else's art on another website is not cool, now i see this means i'm circulating their art without their consent.
sometimes through endless scrolling of fanarts and memes, we forget that there's someone out there who made that art/meme. i will definitely be mindful of this matter in the future, and won't repost others' art.
thanks again for such a kind warning 💕

I have a series of opinions that are all loosely connected that I want to express, bc sometimes people exasperate me.
1) if a popular person creates an OC - for art, for their DnD campaign, whatever - that highly resembles your own OC, this is not a bad thing, or worth getting annoyed by. If you make art of your OC might it get mistaken for this more popular OC? Maybe. Is it really that important to you that random people who you don’t know don’t mistake your art for being of a different but similar-looking character? If so, WHY? and if you don’t art but you have a character that looks like that, how in the world does this affect you? I have a blue tiefling named Kamaala who is bright and bubbly and upbeat and has a distinct Russian-esque accent. I first conceptualized her in 2017 or so, based on a World of Warcraft Draenei character I had. When Critical Role Campaign 2 came out and Jester existed and I started seeing fanart of her, I kept thinking “this looks like ‘Maala!” and you know what? I was kinda excited ‘cause now I had a bunch of art to use as a reference of “sort of like this, except X, Y, Z” if I ever got a commission of her.
2) relatedly: if you have drawn an art of a character, and someone uses that art as a reference to another artist for a different character, unless that person passes it off AS their character or the artist just straight up copies you, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s why it’s called a REFERENCE, something that can be REFERRED TO for ease of design, especially for people who don’t yet HAVE art of their own character.
3) And speaking about ppl who don’t have art of their own character, there is nothing wrong with someone finding art online and using that art to represent their character for the purposes of a private DnD game. Why in the world would it be morally questionable I don’t even understand the logic there.
4) Someone adding a character or character ref tag for one of their OCs to a reblog of art of someone else’s OC on tumblr is fine too. It’s an OC, it’s not like people are going to be scouring the internet for that character and mistake your art for that character. And if you tag it properly on YOUR post, ppl can always find out who it actually is. How does that person spreading your art via reblog but tagging for themselves that this is similar to their OC enough to be a reference or something they want to be able to find related to that character later ACTUALLY affect you in any way? This also goes for ppl adding art that’s already on pinterest to a character ref pinboard or whatever.
IDK I just have seen enough stuff like DO NOT TAG AS AN OC or DO NOT USE THIS ART FOR A DND CAMPAIGN or w/e to just be… so ridiculous. I’m not saying you have to LIKE it when someone does that, but that’s like saying “listen to my song that I wrote! now DON’T sing that to yourself when it’s stuck in your head when you’re doing the dishes!” to me, like. They’re not claiming its theirs, they’re not reposting it to another website (note that on pinterest I did say “art that’s *already on* Pinterest”), they’re just saying “hey this is inspirational to me”, and that’s not a morally dubious or questionable thing.
Again, you don’t have to like it, if you’ve ever tried to say any of these things are Bad To Do, you don’t have to enjoy ppl doing them, but they are completely morally FINE whether you want them to be or not, and acting like they’re anything else just makes you look bad.

My problem with writing poetry is that it’s a near guarantee that I can have more tangible positive impact on the world by making a text post on tumblr than by typing something out on my computer and submitting it over and over again to poetry journals that most people don’t know exist.
Since starting this blog a weird thing has happened with my creativity. I’m no longer trapped in a box where submitting to literary magazines is my only way of communicating artistically with the world. If I have something to say, I can just...say it.
And sometimes people take screenshots of the things that I say and repost them all over the internet so that millions of people see them, and I encounter by accident things that I wrote everywhere in the online world, passed on by who knows how many people that found them important.
Multiple times I’ve ended up debating whether to turn something into a poem or a textpost. The poem starts to feel like it’s not necessarily more Art. More important or valuable or whatever. Why do I write things? To have people who Know Better label them as art?
What I mean is, my post about dandelions has inspired at least two people to get tattoos inspired by it and that makes my explanation of what makes poetry good fall apart. I created something that was meaningful to someone. It’s totally frustrating and unsatisfying to try to form my words in this sophisticated and never-before-seen way so that my poetry will be judged as ‘better’ by any standard other than the actual impact it has on people. I don’t know what I’m doing or why I’m doing it when I write poetry.
Most things that are important have already been said. Most things we say are said incompletely and badly. That’s...okay.

Q: Why are you writing this post?
A: Because during the Christmas holidays I started to receive attention from the Zootopia fandom which led me to re-discover some concepts that I thought I had made clear, and since this didn’t turn out to be true, I am forced to reiterate them.
Q: What happened?
A: I discovered that someone had reposted, obviously without my consent, an old comic of Aoimotion and mine on reddit, a site I don't like and on which I had already said not to publish my actually and old contents. This repost "reminded" this fandom of my existence, and after this event some people came to ask us questions such as "when Nick and Judy would reappear in our work?" and the like.
You can imagine how much it bothered me, so I went to reddit and wrote to immediately delete the content. Unfortunately, doing this I couldn’t help but notice how the post had become a place to waste insinuations and insults aimed at me and Aoimotion. In particular, the comments of three users stood out: @ggctuk , @owningsuperset7 and @hammytotherescue
Q: Why did these users get your attention?
A: ggctuk, which I have no idea who they are, have proclaimed themselves as the narrative voice of the events that have taken place between us and the fandom, providing a lot of incomplete and, in the worst case, completely wrong information, about why we left the fandom and about the alleged "abusive behaviors" we had against translators.
Owningsuperset7 spoke about us (like he does every time the occasion presents itself to him), defining us ungrateful towards the fandom "that had fed us". But "fed" in what sense? It seems to me that we have been those who have definitely "eaten" very little… or likes can be monetized, just like the views on youtube, and I didn't know it? Did they break the keyboard in order to put those likes on our works? If it’s so, I'm sorry, but I certainly wasn't the one who pointed the gun at their head to follow my work. Always remember that paying attention to a work is always and only a reader’s choice. No creator has power over these phenomena, we just create and publish, the rest is always an unknown factor. So expressing yourself as a seduced and abandoned lover on an old and free work doesn’t make you a victim, it only makes you ridiculous. Anyway, I know the subject, who had already decided in the past to talk on DeviantArt before I blocked him, and I decided not to tell him anything in that moment, also because, what can you say to a person who clearly has problems that go beyond fandom? Sometimes ignoring is the kindest choice you can make.
Hammytotherescue instead claimed that he and I were friends in the past, before the duo formed by me and aoimotion became toxic. Since I had no memory of this person and I hate when someone alludes to relationships with me that don't exist, I wrote to him privately on Tumblr asking him if he could kindly refresh my memory about this "friendship" he was bragging about.
Q: How did it end?
A: The conversation, which I report below because I, unlike him, have nothing to be ashamed of, is as follows:
Tumblr media
As you can see, Hammy never replied to my last message . But in reality the story was not over. A few days ago, in fact, I discover that the user in question "vented" in the post of reddit, not under my comment (so that I received notification of his reply) but in response to another comment that had been left to me. Showing, as always, the incredible maturity of these people.
After reading this comment, I decided to act by reporting the user on reddit, but the answer I received can be summarized as: "since you are a content creator, you deserve insults regardless." In short, a response as useful and smart as the people who gave it to me. So don’t worry Hammy, you won't be banned from reddit because the only braincell shared by you users agrees that defining a toxic and manipulative person is, to quote one of the wise moderators I talked to, "a fairly typical level of criticism". All is well that ends well.
Q: You mentioned "concepts to reiterate". What would they be?
A: Let's start by denying what ggctuk wrote in that reddit's post, given how much popularity his comments have gained.
My split from this fandom started because I simply lost interest in Nick and Judy and preferred to do something else, something of my own. Black Jack gave us the opportunity to invent many original characters and they was those I wanted to work on. We have never worked for ulterior motives other than having fun together. When we recognized that we no longer have anything to give to this universe, we declared it openly and closed this chapter of our "artistic life". This split could take place in a peaceful and calm way, I would have taken my own path and you yours, since it was obvious, since BJ times, that you had very little interest in our original contents. You also reiterated this between the lines of these last comments, so really, I make a terrible effort to understand your logic of contents belonging to your fandom. It's not your fault, don't worry. You have been spoiled by this entrenched habit of creating any anthropomorphic animal and attributing it to your precious and super-nutritive fandom. Once you labeled this attitude at heresy, now everything is fine as long as it helps you keeping this universe going, honestly, I just pity you. However it seems that your obsession with me prevents you from accepting the fact that my life would have continued even without this fandom and that I would have lived very well even without the amount of likes that fanarts could give me. Indeed my life would be even more beautiful if I didn't have to waste time like I am doing now.
Both me and aoimotion together gave you a lot, and in the end we simply got it back. Jack is a prime example: yes, he is a character born from the scratches of Zootopia's artwork, but thanks to our work he has evolved to the point of becoming a completely original character. This fandom has not been able to accept it and until the end has tried to claim him as its own, and even now it can’t accept that we have instead taken him back, and even less can you bear that we are successfully using him in our original works, which is why you insist so much on his "Disney" origin, as if this defines his identity, and for months you have made fun of us saying that we were claiming something that belongs to Disney as our own. Unfortunately, beyond a doodle and a hint of a hypothetical background, Disney has absolutely nothing. Whatever weight you have attributed to "Jack Savage" is only thanks to our work, Disney has nothing to do with your mania and it has nothing to do with everything we've built up over the years. Still, you took our job and stuck it over the "Disney" label, and that was even when Black Jack was long gone, so don’t use that excuse anymore. You even tried to attribute Cynthia to the Disney universe by calling her "Skye", since you are so desperate to keep your fantasies going, and when you had nothing more to say, you said that my art style was "clearly inspired by Disney". Did you think I could condone such an attitude? I suppose these statements derive above all from the certainly very poor culture that you have of the world outside the fandom (or fandoms), however there are artists who WORKED for Disney, who TEACHED drawing techniques at the Disney Academy and who work at own productions with that style, without anyone attributing anything to the major. If you don't believe me, try using the web for something constructive, like doing some in-depth research on the subject.
As for the matter of our alleged abuses on translators, I will only say two things: the translations started because of my naivety, and we prohibited them because the translators abused their role and went out of control, acting as if the comics belonged to them and / or as if there was a special relationship of complicity between me and them. I'm sorry I gave false hopes to these people, unfortunately I didn't have time to realize the misunderstandings that were being created and how our work was being used. There is a clear difference between the fan content and the original content, so now more than even, less our work passes into the hands of others, the better it is for us.
Now let’s analyzing the brilliant messages of Hammy, both on Tumblr and on reddit:
In both cases, what I see is a desperate need to cling to Rem's "pretty" facade while simultaneously demolishing the person behind Aoimotion. These insinuations suggest that the only possible Rem to conceive for your narrow minds is the kind and lovely one, and everything I say and do that does not fall within this definition is the work of aoimotion.
I will never go into detail about the dynamics between me and her, because frankly it’s not your business and I don’t want to give you further ground to cultivate your absurd speculations and your degenerated ideas. If you have decided to treat us as two two-dimensional characters of some fourth category fan fiction born from your fragile minds and then feel disappointed or offended by my attitude or a severe response I can give you, you cannot help but blame yourself and not who is my friend .
But you have to get it into your heads that when you talk about us in a personal way, you refer only on the basis of two web profiles. You don't know us personally and above all you don't know me. Being an extremely reserved person, I always decided to use social networks to share my artistic side or my interests related to entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. "Rem289" has always been only a blog, a showcase on the web, I’ve never attributed a real emotional and above all personal value to it, even before Zootopia. For the rest I prefer to live my personal life off the web. Unfortunately, you have been so careless as to decide to hit my personal sphere, my friendships and my affections. So no, Aoi didn’t take over between you and me, but the person behind Rem289 took over and you paid the consequences.
Still on the subject of aoimotion, it seems that the moment this comment was written on DA has remained particularly impressed: https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/765376682/4647911119
This great insult, which among other things is attributed to her as if I didn’t think the same (if not worse) about you, has become the new reason why aoimotion is ugly and bad and is the reason why she deserves to be insulted and disparaged at the slightest opportunity, even during a conversation with me in which she’s not involved in any way.
Now, since this term seems to me rather dated to be used as a matter of indignation during your debates, and since I still find it rather ”soft” to use to outline my intolerance towards you, in order to give you another thing to think over, I will give you an attribute which seems more correct to me: you are sick. Confronting you is like talking to someone who has been brainwashed. You are a broken record that always says the same things over and over again. I can't even feel sorry for you, what I feel is just a great sense of unease. (Of course there are people that still participate in this fandom and are perfectly normal, but those are exceptions and they already know we think good of them.)
And it’s precisely your illness that prompted me to dissociate myself so violently from the fandom. Not aoimotion, as you have been saying for months between an insult and another that you address to her because perhaps you are too afraid of me to address them directly to me, which is rather contradictory since I should be the sweet and pretty one of the duo. After all, it's better to treat me like a poor brainless fool who lets herself be manipulated rather than admit that I also have my own ideas and that, you don’t say, you don't like them.
Q: In any case, you have no right to deprive your fans of old content they love so much, you just want to be spiteful! Why did all your old WildeHopps comics disappear from the web?
A: The decision to delete the contents created by me relating to the fandom from my web platforms or those shared with my partner was not born in the least out of spite or "punishment" towards the members of the fandom. It was a decision made to dissociate my name and my current work from fandom, because unfortunately it created difficulties for my image and real difficulties for readers to understand (you can go on and say that if people think your work is still Zootopia-related is not a big deal, but I assure you it is). All that came after, are only and exclusively speculations built on purpose to find the most sinister reasons of why it happened. Publishing content is only an accessory part of the job itself, a percentage of the process. Deciding to publish, not publish or cancel a publication is at the pure expense of the author, and no consumer has the right to impose his will on the creator. I understand that they are perhaps too complex concepts for you, since it’s clear that you are used to measuring the value of things based on the likes they receive, but this current of thought also exists and I hope it will be useful to you someday, in the remote possibility that decide to take moments of deep reflection (which would be more and more useful than tapping your fingers on the keyboard).
(Little curiosity: in the last few weeks we have forwarded about twenty reports to various sites to remove our old contents posted there without our permission. Not only all twenty reports have been accepted, but the contents have all been removed in less than 12 hours from the date of reporting. This is to remind you that if we don’t want our content on the web, we have them removed and it’s the reposters who pay for it, not us.)
Q: Well, however you can't force us not to talk badly about you or aoimotion, in fact, you can't stop us from believing that she's been manipulating you for years. Almost certainly it’s she who is writing this post without your knowledge, isn't it?
A: The people of the web are notoriously lazy and are therefore often uninformed and constipated in developing their own concepts. They spit sentences without even knowing what they’re talking about, they choose "comfortable" truths, such as the fact of attributing to aoimotion every not nice word that comes from me, and when this phenomenon is reflected on real persons, unfortunately it’s quite difficult to manage.
We are attributed with labels, words, concepts, faults, relationships that don’t belong to us and that are difficult to get away from. A simple comment or a wrong statement towards a person can spread like wildfire and end up marking them for life. Needless to say, these conditions often prevent these same people from continuing with their activities, which instead are healthy, in a serene and peaceful way. Even now, instead of drawing, I’m writing this latest post to defend me and my partner from your sick slanders. Those who allow themselves the luxury of damaging the "active personalities" of the web are people who fully enjoy anonymity behind a screen, and often people who have the matter of regulating them (like the reddits moderators, who are a joke at best) limit themselves to considering certain behaviors "ordinary” in the creator / consumer relationship. The mere fact of normalizing certain behaviors doesn’t smooth out the rules of civilized life, makes these "authorities" complicit and therefore only adds a problem. It’s more than evident that some people are not yet able to distinguish the boundary that exists between objective opinion and direct and personal insult, but from people who lose sleep at night because they have been defined as “lunatic” I don’t expect anything less. Who knows what you will do now that I have called you sick.
I conclude with a message to the interested party:
@hammytotherescue: I don't know how old you are, however, judging by what you write and how you write it and how you act, I deduce that you should not be more than 14-15 years old. Unfortunately I regret to tell you that the fact you are a minor doesn’t mean that you don’t have to take responsibility for your actions, and if you still have doubts about understanding where you have gone wrong I advise you to ask your parents for advice. I gave you the opportunity to confront me but you ran away to cry on a public platform. Hasn't anyone taught you that real life doesn't work like that? If, on the other hand, you are an adult, I sincerely feel sorry for you, I say this from the bottom of my heart.
I know how comfortable it is to hide behind a group or in this case a fandom to vent one's dislikes towards the individual. This time you and your friends have received the same treatment, you have not caught generic appellations addressed to the fandom but I decided to speak to you personally. My only advice is to use this experience to learn how it behaves on the web, and when you have learned it, you could teach it to all your friends, perhaps starting with @owningsuperset7.
For @ggctuk: I hope you will appreciate my effort in writing this long post, as so the next time you talk about us again, you can use it as a reference to explain how things went 🤗

FAQ & Rules
Hello! Welcome to Monster Kink Meme!
This blog is a source for writing and art prompts for monsters & kinks. Pretty straightforward. Here’s a basic FAQ, mixed with our rules.
What is the point of this blog?
This blog is to generate writing and art prompts, similar to @write-it-motherfuckers and @writing-prompt-s, specifically for exophilia writers and artists.
Can we submit prompts?
Yes! Please do, either through the submission button or through asks. Asks are best for short prompts, or things that you want to keep anonymous. Submissions are best for longer prompts, and cannot be anonymous. We love getting prompts from folks. If you have a request for a story, please phrase it as a prompt. We aren’t a request blog, but a prompt blog.
Who can participate?
Anyone over the age of 18.
How can we participate?
Other than submitting prompts, if you see a prompt that inspires you, write or draw something and reblog it with the original prompt. Also, tag liberally.
Art submitted cannot be anonymous and must be from either the artist who created it or posted with permission from the artist who created it. Do not repost someone else’s art without their permission. This includes using it in moodboards (those collages at the top of stories.)
I see you suggest genders/monsters. Do I need to use those?
Mod prompts will sometimes have suggested genders & monsters. Those are totally optional and can be ignored if something else inspires you.
Submitted prompts that include requested monsters or genders should be considered mandatory, since people submitting those are setting up specific situations they’d hope to see.
Do I need to use a specific tense or point of view? [x]
No! The exophilia community does a lot of writing from second person present tense as a stylistic thing, but that doesn’t mean you should limit yourself to that. Write what feels comfortable to you. If that’s third person, write that! If it’s past tense, then that’s fine, too!
Can I write about sexy stuff? Kinky stuff? Polyamory?
Yes! We leave our prompts open, but if something you write takes a sexy turn, or features extra kinks, or multiple partners, that’s totally fine by us. (As long as it abides by the rules below re: what we don’t allow.) We love that stuff, it’s just that a lot of what we’ve gotten so far has been sweet rather than spicy.
Just make sure you TAG APPROPRIATELY. Use the citrus scale, tag for content (anything that people may want to know about before choosing to read your story), and follow the content rules. (We want consent, no incest, no underage sex, and no bestiality. Beyond that, it’s fair game.)
Where do I find monster inspiration?
We’ve got a post here. The short version? Everywhere! Pop culture. Cryptids. Mythology. Dungeons & Dragons. Video Games. Movies. Your Imagination.
I need writing help. Do you have advice?
We have a post here. It’s got advice from a bunch of us about how to start, how to continue. How to do the thing. The biggest thing is just to go for it. You’ll never get better without doing.
If a prompt has already been “filled,” can someone else write about the same prompt with a different story?
Yep! We’d love to see as many iterations as you guys can think of! (Someone asked Aelia about it, there’s a post.)
Are there any format expectations/requirements for stories?
Generally we like to see something that lists Characters, Content, and Rating, and a Read More link when appropriate.
Characters tells people who/what is in your story. Reader & monster genders would be listed here.
Content would be where you put any tags (see the next question) and warn people about anything that may squick or trigger, as well as any acts or situations that they may be interested in, or which they may wish to avoid. This allows people to make good choices for themselves.
Rating is based on our Citrus Scale.
If your story is more than about 6 paragraphs, or it’s explicit or potentially triggering, we love to see you use a Read More/Keep Reading tag  after the first paragraph or two so when we reblog it people don’t have to scroll forever.
How should I tag?
There’s two spots we love to see tags!
1: Ahead of your story. If you put tags before your story, your readers can make informed choices about what you’ve written, and whether it’s a good/safe choice for them. This is where we want to see tags about any kinks, sex acts, or content warnings for readers.
2: In the tumblr tags. This is where you put things to make your story searchable, so DO NOT put NSFW or “sexual” tags here, as it will make the post inaccessible by searching. This is where all the tags about citrus scale, monster types, reader & monster genders, pairings, and fandoms that apply should go. Here’s a post about unsearchable tags. Using these tags will make your post “disappear” and we’d hate to see that happen.
We have a handy guide to how we want to see the citrus scale used for stories that people hope to see on our blog.
Overall, USE CONTENT WARNINGS. We cannot stress this enough. We want readers to be able to make informed choices about what they read to avoid “squicks” and triggers.
Should we use the “teratophilia” tag?
We would prefer you didn’t for two reasons: A: teratophilia is no longer a searchable tag, and B: given the original definition of the word (sexual attraction to deformed, disfigured, or monstrous people and a form of paraphilia, I.E. attraction to the disabled), the moderators of this blog feel it is both inaccurate and insensitive.
Most (not all, but most) monster-lover writers now use the much more accurate term exophilia (the love of extraterrestrial, robotic, supernatural, or otherwise non-human life-forms) to describe our work. Robophilia (sexual attraction to robots) and xenophilia (sexual attraction to aliens) is still permissible.
Topics we don’t allow/won’t post/reblog:
Real people (like actors, musicians, and other celebrities)
Incest (including step/adopted family members)
Non-con/dub-con (including rape-play)
Whump (”Hurt/Comfort” fics that focus more on the hurt and less on the comfort. Not to be confused with standard Hurt/Comfort or BDSM)
Bestiality (creatures that don’t possess the mental capacity to consent)
Under-aged/pedophilia (with the minimum age being 18)
Everything else it totally fine.
If you plan on writing anything along these lines using our prompts, please make it a separate post, and do not tag us in it. This is because we want our notes to be relatively safe for people to look through, but also because we don’t want to be associated with things that violate our policies.
We would also like to point out once more that this is a prompt/prompt fill blog, not a request or roleplay blog. If your story/submission does not meet our rules and is NOT a prompt/prompt fill, we will not be posting it on our blog.
Do not plagiarize books/movies/video games for your prompts.
We’ve seen this cropping up a lot recently. We will not post them if we spot them, and if we miss it and someone points it out, it’ll be deleted. [x]
General Expectation for Respect/Sensitivity
We didn’t want to phrase this one as a question necessarily but we wanted to make it clear that on the whole, not only do all of the mods of this blog embrace the idea of an open community, but we endorse appreciation over appropriation, as well as sensitivity and respect when working with creatures from races and cultures that are not your own, or sexualities, or genders which you do not identify with. We love representation, we just want to see it done well.
Mod Traveler has a post on her blog that sums it up well and includes links to educational resources for people looking for more info, but you should be able to reach out to any of us for more information about what we mean.
What are “theme days”?
We (sometimes) have two theme days a week where we request prompts that fit a specific theme. Prompts that come in on those days which fit those themes get posted immediately instead of getting queued.
Trope Tuesday is all about our favorite tropes with monsters mixed in. First Date Friday is about the trials and tribulations of first dates. We currently do them weekly, but that’s subject to change.
What are tropes?
We’ve had a few questions come in about this! We’ve answered it here, and here. But the short version is; storytelling shorthand. Common “cliche” situations that readers recognize, and may have set expectations for. (”Oh no someone is getting married and I need a date!” etc.)
I saw you reblog something from [other prompt page]. Why?
So, we reblog from other prompt pages because we are trying to keep enough prompts in the queue to have stuff posting with consistency. We’ve been trying to share relevant prompt posts from other places (with permission from the other blogs, in every case) to ensure there’s enough content.
I wrote a story but you didn’t reblog it!
If it didn’t violate any of our rules, we just might have missed it in the notes, or it wasn’t about monsters. Please feel free to tag us, or message a member of the mod team directly. :)
Will you post a story I submit to you?
Only if it’s a direct response to one of our prompts, and/or it involves monsters. We’re a monster prompt blog. :)
Do you have a masterlist?
We do! We have one for Fills and one for Prompts.
I don’t like something I saw posted, what do I do?
We can’t control what people post in response to prompts posted here, but we won’t ever reblog something that doesn’t fit the spirit of our blog, and we’ll never post prompts that go against our rules.
With the exception of our explicitly not allowed list, we abide by the “your kink doesn’t have to be my kink, and that’s okay” rule. The tl;dr version of this is “if it doesn’t violate the rules, but you don’t like it, just keep scrolling.”
If you feel it does violate our rules but it slipped through the cracks somehow, please send one of the mods a message, and we will help you out with it.
That’s it! We’ll update as needed! Have fun and get creating!

Added after I wrote this, I know my grammar is a mess in this. This post is 2223 words, longer than most high school essays which averaged 1500 words. If you don’t want to read all of this it has been separated into paragraphs and most of the conversation points are in the last three paragraphs. This sentence was added in after word count, the original post was on Facebook which is why the link in this does point to my own blog: My sentence structures are not correct, and this is Facebook and I don’t give a crap about that here. I did try to do my best to make it somewhat understandable with several ideas and conversations all in this. Also I didn’t originally separate it into paragraphs. If a sentence seems out of place at the start or end of a paragraph, my bad. But please read, comment opinions, not angry but constructive to build a conversation. I also don’t know how but this became more like an info blog post, but valid points and openings for conversations are made.
These newish Apple features like the Memoji, like it’s aight but still lacking in so many hair styles and facial depth, forehead, chins, and noses. Hopefully the will add a lot more features to be able to make it more like you, in a cartoon version. I’m about to check out the full bitmoji app to see what all they have, but I feel like apple should of used bitmoji, and since Apple has a version, I know android does. How is their version in your experience? (Please reply even if you don’t know me, I want to have decent conversations with people, but I hardly have anyone to talk to about random stuff like this.) Also the fact that Apple has Memoji in their database of words and not Bitmoji, is extremely weird, and pointless not to have it.
I don’t know how I feel overall about Apples decisions on these updates. They seem to be trying to almost build a legit social media around their platforms, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make something like Google+, which will most likely fail all together as a product, not because it will be awful but because we already have the social media giants that control most people’s lives, work, and reputation.
Facebook is for memes mostly and socializing with like minded people with their pages and groups. Not to mention that so many people use their marketplace now as well, which did shock me that it took of with other apps offering the same thing before Facebook did. To those who didn’t know, yes, Facebook stole that idea from OfferUp and LetGo(I think there was another around before the marketplace.)
You have Snapchat, the goofy fun social media where you can have personalized stories, private or public, and I may be wrong but they are also the ones that introduced the idea(maybe didn’t originally have the idea, but did introduce it, I think. Let me know if I am wrong please, I would like to know.) Next, the thing that made Snapchat big originally was the disappearing pictures after 10 seconds, which you couldn’t edit when the app first came out, the initial release didn’t even have filters or all the extra stuff they have now, it was so basic and simple and blew up. Another thing that made Snapchat big in the same way, disappearing photos meant disappearing nudes for both male and female, only that at first they could be screenshots, that didn’t notify you. In a future version, they disabled screenshoting photos from the default system buttons, but of course people found ways and made apps to get around it. Snapchat then started to block accounts for using those apps, then came the solution of notifying users of screenshots and then recordings when Apple released that feature. I know Snapchat probably wasn’t the first to make the goofy photo filters, but they did make it so much easier and almost more advanced with their simple facial mapping(yes it is simple since it’s meant to work with phones without facial recognition and all the other fancy face features.). Now Snapchat is a place to socialize in groups, or privately with friends through photos, messages, and video. Another big use now is the porn industry, where I think it’s safe to say only females succeed at making a lot of money with. It also seems to avoid spam bots and stuff. I’ve never received anything from a fake user or bot, besides their built in Snapchat bot, so that is honestly impressive and I applaud them for trying to keep it safe and friendly, except for the usual douchebag guys that send dick picks and stalk girls no matter their age. Danger lurks at all corners of the internet, and making friends is easier now, and just an add and a message away sometimes. But be careful who you add and honestly block anyone who harasses you or sends you unwanted images. And report them, help improve internet society and safety. This goes for all social media platforms.
Instagram is built solely around the personal sharing of photos to a feed and nothing else really. I know everyone was shocked that it became as big as it did, considering you can do the same thing in Facebook, and easily share other peoples photos to your friends. Although it is just photos, the people on there that are successful, actually do influence people and promote sponsors and their products. Some use it to get money, for their more explicit content. It followed Snapchat in adding stories, then filters, and has been successful in its endeavors. You can find everything legal on their as well as some illegal content such as drug use. As mentioned above, yes bots and fake accounts exist, be weary in who you talk to and exchange messages and photos with on here as well.
Twitter has been around for a long time and honestly, I see it being the first to die, due to overall lack of community and now with all the user interface updates and whatnot, it can be difficult to understand how the social environment of it works. Basically you get I think 140 characters to insert into the status prompt or whatever you/they want to call it. I personally don’t use it much, I get on there to see any updates from game companies and some of my favorite authors and music artists. I do this maybe once a week or two. I honestly don’t understand the point in twitter nor how getting followers and conversations started on there, if you have any suggestions for me please let me know if you are still somehow reading this.
Tumblr, ye olde blogging platform, one of the best until the pornography bam that yahoo added once their app was removed from the Apple store after I think being reported for child pornography. A lot of people lost their blogs and thousands of followers and countless hours of work. Many others had a lot of their content censored by a community guidelines photo or by being completely removed. So yes we can all agree that it’s a good thing they are trying to do what they can to combat child pornography of Tumblr, but a lot of people saw this as a complete change of environment for tumblr, whether being used for art, music, porn, pizza, cats etc.. Another big complaint that caused this change is how easy it was to lie about your age and turn off the content filter that got rid of the majority of inappropriate content. It was literally just a search option, then they tried moving it to your phone settings to the app setting in there to turn it off, which was still too easy. I can say you will still see pornographic content on Tumblr, mostly by accident, but there are people still posting getting around their image search algorithms. Past that to summarize, it’s basically a bigger version of Twitter, allowing for blog posts of most media types now, they have a reblog button to repost on your own page(these also get their own sub domains where it follows such as mine regentcorpse.tumblr.com. This is not for promotion, just an easy example(it’s a new blog with only like one blog post, but yes is my personal blog.) You can use your own domain if you own the address and route it to tumblrs name-servers, which most domain hosts have guides available to help you understand the process and set it up. They follow Wordpress in allowing themes which are only visible in a web browser and not the Tumblr mobile app, but on mobile you can edit the color scheme and fonts to what they have stock. To be like twitter with the features of Wordpress except custom plugins, it is a phenomenal platform still where you can truly be yourself and no one actually has to know who you are, you just post the content you love, the content you create(except for the porn content that a lot of people now went to Snapchat and Twitter for, and probably some private instagrams). You can find almost everything you heart desires within lawful reasons, I mean honestly you could probably find someone to buy illegal stuff from like guns, drugs, etc but I’ve never looked for that type of stuff on there. I love cyberpunk culture and there are so much content around it on tumblr. It also has pretty decent privacy setting for a blog, which can be password locked I believe and you can set permissions for it to be only people you follow or follow you, or no one or everyone can message you, ask questions(which can be anonymous), and submit content to your blog(also can be anonymous). The tumblr community can be toxic but also so helpful and beautiful seeing some of the ways people come together on there. It can range from legit bugs to books and quotes to programming and even professional use.
There is also LinkedIn, which is a very professional platform where you can add your professional resume and skills and may get recruited to jobs. I remember something like this tried to launch on Facebook but I do believe it failed out, as I haven’t seen anything about it or a link since they probably removed it.
So this leads me to ask What would an Apple Social Media Platform consist of? How would they try to outdo the others, and how would they make it appealing enough for people to use/switch to. Yes Apple is a big name, but so was google which failed at social media. They had good ideas but went about it completely wrong.
I feel like Apple would attempt to make a platform around creativity and art of all types. I feel like it would be a platform that would combine GarageBand, IMessages, Memoji, and all their other great apps into one. If they added collaboration on projects a lot easier in that aspect, and didn’t force themselves into everyone(Yes, Google that’s a shot at you.), they could make a truly great platform where we could see great things made by groups, communities, artists, and I could see them adding some sort of collaboration for web developers and programmers, which I would like to see knowing that Facebook, the corporation not social network, owns Oculus, and they already have a lot of resources for developers. Do you think Apple might be working on a social media platform, or do you think they will just keep adding out of place features? Do you think they would succeed in it or absolutely fail? Do you think Apple would stand a chance against the other giants that have been around and built up their user base? Also another issue is how exclusive Apple is with everything, just the fact you can log into Apple TV and watch it on a Windows Pc is a miracle. Do you think Apple will make it exclusive or would they put in the effort of being their media platform to everyone no matter their device? Remember everyone had a MySpace, now you never even hear about it, Facebook was a surprising switch with it having limited functionality and basically no customization options for your profile like MySpace and some other media’s had.
I want to hear your thoughts, opinions, and speculations about this, let’s start an open and friendly conversation, no hate or trolls, I don’t want all of that and your comments will be deleted and I may even block you from seeing posts like this on your feed and my page. This is at an end because my thumbs are tired and my phones dying and Facebook is lagging from how much I just put on here, but seriously comment, let me know what’s running in your mind, even what you would like to see change in social media in general or even in specific ones. I hope you all do open a nice and positive and informative conversation, I want to see that on Facebook more and I want to make friends I can talk about this type of stuff with in depth or even as broad as mostly common knowledge.

Why Reblogging Is So Important to Artists | Why Being Nice Online is Important | Storytime
First of all, I wasn’t going to talk about this. Because I thought it wasn’t needed, because I thought there was enough information out there asking people NOT TO REPOST ART and if we do, at least give PROPER CREDIT.
But there isn’t. That’s alright. Let’s talk about it.
Two days ago I was approached by the lovely @vaugleysassygrunt who told me someone was reposting my art. They said this person had been changing their url all day (and they’re still doing it) and sent me a hyperlink to the art they had posted. It was one of the comics from my on-going Sanders Sons series, a sequential comic I have been working on for almost a year. It was pretty dear to my heart (and the context was pretty important as well).
My immediate thought was “Oooh boy, my first art thief, that’s so exciting”. All the big ones get those. Along I went to this person’s tumblr and was about to send them a message when I saw they had already addressed the issue by saying they found reblogging annoying and that’s why they preferred reposting. That they never claimed the art was theirs.
Of course my first thought was “if you don’t like reblogging what are you doing on tumblr?”. But we shouldn’t give in to our first thoughts. They’re often rash.
So I get into a conversation with said art thief and try another way. Because THERE IS another way. We can’t nunchuk our way to awareness. This is what I wrote:
Hi, friendo! I'm sorry people are giving you a hard time, but crediting art is very important for us artists :( It's how we make our carreers. I understand you don't enjoy reblogging, but it can help people find our art and find more of our work if they need to. I also am really embarrassed to have to ask, but could you please credit sandersssons-comic or sanderssons in the quadruplets AU? It's a series I spent a lot of time on and I would hate it if people only read a part of it. Thanks and have a good day :D
They repond right away. Telling me they accept my apology (?)
Also that they found the image on google images.
Also asking how much artists get.
FIRST LESSON TO TAKE FROM THIS: Google Images, such as Google itself, it’s an image SEARCHER. It COMPILES images from the whole internet. An image being on Google Images DOES NOT MEAN IT’S UP FOR GRABS. Google Images provides the proper source of the picture.
BESIDES, Google Images can be a great tool for finding the author of an artpiece. Just go to Google Reverse Image Search. You can do it from your phone and from your desktop. Just put the image on and Google finds the original source for you!
So I proceed to explain to this person that artists don’t make much. Most of us get money from comissions that depend on the complexity. Some get Ko-Fis and Patreons and online shops with stickers and key chains and some other goodies.
ALTHOUGH, FOR YOU I ALSO SAY: PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR ART EVEN IF THEY DON’T GET MONEY FOR IT. BECAUSE IT’S THEIR OWN AND THEY MADE IT. DON’T BE A DICK.
They say:
I don’t mean to be rude but you could just get more money by being an art teacher or something that pays good minimum wage.
And you can imagine this big red flag raising in my head. Disengage. Disengage. Disengage. But this was a HUMAN BEING. And a misinformed one. I had already made contact. Might as well. I explained that we DO NOT WANT other jobs. This is our jobs. This is our choice of carreer. And it’s not hard to respect.
Reminder, that should go without saying: YOU DO NOT HAVE A SAY ON PEOPLE’S LIFE CHOICES
Our friend says they don’t understand cause they’re in high school and they don’t draw a lot (as if art knowledge just comes by osmosis when you draw a lot)
I said it was totally cool not to understand. Because it is
SECOND LESSON: SOMETIMES PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THINGS. I came back to tumblr for the Thomas Sanders fandom. A fandom that thrives on kindness and caring and validation of different people
They thanked me for being cool and explaining things and asked if we could be friends. I said that absolutely
(After our little talk, they started giving credit to the pictures they could find. Read as: the ones that had signatures on the image)
We talked yesterday a whole part of the day. We get acquainted. They’re finding themselves as non-binary, they’re in high school. Things like that. I tell them I’m 20 and in college for journalism
In this proccess I explained how comissions worked and, again, why reblogging and not reposting was important
So yesterday night I’m already in bed when they message me “Hi”
I responded I was tired and going to sleep. They said they were going to bed too. And that they hated when they were accused of something they didn’t do. Which was stealing art
And I said that, indeed, they weren’t STEALING art per say. But reposting was a dick move. They got PISSED. So I tried to find an analogy they would understand.
Ok, think of it like this
You've painted a tradicional piece in oil and put it in your gallery with other paintings
Someone can't come and take the painting off the wall and put it on their gallery
Even if they say it's yours... It doesn't bring more people to your gallery. It exposes your work... But that's mostly it.
To which they replied:
The Mona Lisa got stolen once and people have made counterfeit paintings in the past
Which, goes without saying DOESN’T MAKE IT OKAY. Just because someone already murdered another, it doesn’t mean we can go around on a killing spree.
Besides, tumblr has original content and tools to get replicated inside the website. And so I told them.
And then again:
Why are the majority of people here artists who clearly don’t realize they can get a part time job?
And I told them, AGAIN, they do not want part time jobs. They want these jobs.
They said I lied then, when I said art didn’t pay well. And proceeded to say they didn’t understand why people want to be starving artists.
Also that tumblr didn’t have the kind of images they wanted. EVEN THOUGH THIS WHOLE THING WAS HAPPENING BECAUSE ARTISTS FROM TUMBLR WERE FINDING THEIR ARTWORKS REPOSTED ON THEIR ACCOUNT.
I was also making them upset.
I tried to explain further, but they blocked me.
Fortunately, I was able to send one last message and I think it’s the biggest message I want to pass here.
I'm sorry I'm upsetting you but I've been nothing but respectful
Be respectful. Even when you’re mad. Even when people are rude. Kill them with kindness. If they’re too immature to listen to you, that’s on them. Practice what our dear youtubers preach (Thomas Sanders, Jack, Mark).
This person is still reposting, yes. They’re giving credit, but still reposting. It’s a start, I believe. It’s more than I would have gotten sending a hate ask.
So now, princes, princesses and non-binary royalty, I give you the
TL;DR
Artists are ENTITLED TO THEIR ART. You. Are. Not. It doesn’t matter if it’s on tumblr, on google images or on the street. If there’s a signature or not. Getting money for it or not (also, since I’m here, don’t forget that art is not only visual arts, but also videos, music, podcasts and a bagillion other things. If it’s not yours, don’t post it)
You DO NOT get a say on how people should get their wage (just like you don’t get a say on how they dress, on where they go, or who they love)
When you REBLOG, you help the artist to get known. It costs nothing. When you REPOST, you’re a dick. You’re not helping anyone and you’re giving yourself more trouble than just clicking a simple button
It’s okay not to know everything, but listen when people talk respectfully
Don’t be hard on people when you can be nice. Aggravating people will only make enemies of people who can be friends
Be mature enough to accept sometimes you’re wrong
BONUS ROUND: I believed we were done, but I saw this post short after. I didn’t think it was relevant to include, but I feel like I must say something.
I’ve had it with everyone being nothing but mean and antagonizing me. I’m not the bad guy and I really want to kill myself or leave tumblr. I’m never accepted by anyone or anywhere. Hell its hard to tell my friends I’m into men and women or that I like certain things. I get rejected constantly so goodbye forever
And later proceeded to post normally.
Please notice that your life BEING HARD does not make up for BEING A DICK and REFUSING TO BE EDUCATED. I will not refrain from telling you the truth R E S P E C T F U L L Y to protect your feelings just because you’re LGBTQ+ (specially because the you being B part was totally new information for me in this post/and I’m in the community too).
So since I’m giving moral lessons, do this for your friends. We should not stand for something we do not agree. Real friends will respect your side and reconsider. If a person hostilizes you for having a different opinion - or, in this case, being right - they’re not someone you want to have around.
PS.: I will not disclose this person’s identity because it’s irrelevant. I’m only posting this in hopes it can help someone else
PPS.: I ended up did reporting this person for giving my comic specifically the wrong credit

This guy here is Caleb! He is physically 23 and was a former prodigy among the “Potestas” (aka the “Powers” who, according to Christian theology, are angels who have power over evil forces, which the angels are able to restrain aka why he looks like a detective) who got demoted to the “Guardian” rank and got assigned to Chika.
He wasn’t too pleased at first, but after a while, he grew soft on Chika and thinks of her as somewhat like a daughter. Chika in turn admires him and he reminds her of her older brother, Genji.

ah, the price of being a literature nerd:
getting picked to be in a quiz bee you really wanted to join in only to discover it’s not in pairs, but solo, borrowing your brother’s old english book to review on world literature, searching up rare english words, and FINALLY, TRIVIA ABOUT LANGUAGES

Ok, longish post with Dream SMP spoilers ahead!
so the prison is called Pandora’s Vault right?
And in the original myth of Pandora’s box, Pandora is this beautiful woman who is secretly evil cus she was crafted by the gods to punish humanity so after Zeus sends her down to earth she opens the box and all the evils of the world come out and only hope remains inside because it’s supposed to represent how we can always find hope?
I guess we already know Dream is the embodiment of despair and Tommy is the embodiment of hope. Dream killing him inside the vault represents the “hope stays in the box” part of the myth.
We also know that Ranboo has been controlled by Dream which, in a way, parallels the “Pandora was crafted by the gods” thing.
So... yeah

Strange Magic Fandom Welcome Basket
Tumblr media
(Based on Humanity-in-a-Handbag’s post and my extension of it, so I’m not just reblogging that one over and over as I’ve been doing. I streamlined it a little, since some people no longer appear active in the tag or on fanfiction sites. This Welcome Basket is mostly the same as the last one, and the one before that, but reposted instead of reblogged to appear at the top of the tag again, and with a few typos corrected or bits added and gifs changed around.)
Welcome to the fandom, stranger!
Tumblr media
So, you’ve watched Strange Magic a few (dozen) times, or maybe you saw it on the Disney Channel, and now you want to get into the fandom! There’s a tag on Tumblr for the movie, but that sometimes has negative reviews in it. Here’s a list of people in the fandom you can check out.
humanityinahandbag herself, of course, and thatchickwiththeheadphones are the Bonnie and Clyde of the fandom. If you’re looking for angst, go there first. They also do comedy, and thatchick does fan-art.Humanity, like many in the fandom, is also on AO3.
suzie-guru has a little bit of everything - a post-movie series, a canon-divergence series, and a Human AU series, along with one-shots.
dainesanddaffodils is a delight with a whole bunch of AUs, mostly human.
artbymaureen is the Fandom Aunt; one of the animators of the movie! She also does fan-art and sometimes comments on people’s meta or characterization posts.
Meredith Anne Bull, the voice of Dawn, is on tumblr and open to chatting with people about the film!
Endorathewitchandawriter is … possibly the most prolific writer in the whole fandom.
abutterflyobsession works mostly with alternate universes - such creativity cannot be bound to just one world!
joons has art, gifs, and meta.
r2ninjaturtle and amirattus have done Strange Magic cosplay.
siffieleafy mostly reblogs things but comments in the tags.
margoteve writes cute and fluffy fics.
sophaoat has a bit of everything and a handy-dandy ‘Strange Magic’ tag right on the side of her blog for easy searching.
deluxetrashqueen organizes event, makes videos, and makes fan-art, as well as writing stories.
ladybajingo makes and reblogs fan-art.
magically-strange has fics, gifs and art! They’re on AO3 under their old user name, MagicalStranger13.
goldwerewolf is a artist of high caliber.
faery-goblin is a great illustrator and has at least one story in-progress.
magic-and-moonlit-wings writes stories, also on fanfiction.net and AO3.
RavenDiablo’s sequel to the movie is on DeviantArt, posted as separate chapters, and on fanfiction.net.
Cedar-King is also on AO3 under the name Pikuna - there’s a lot of overlap within this fandom.
Bifacialler (or Ler on AO3) has a variety of creative and detailed Human AUs, as well as at least one post-movie fic and canon-divergence story.
jaegereska (RazormusPrime) has an ambitious post-movie series in progress, with a lot of pre-movie world building.
owl-quill started the Strange Magic story prompts/requests page on AO3.
Katra21 and touchofgrey37 are go-to writers if you need a Potionless fix, thought neither one seems to be generating new content.
gleefully-macabre has also begun a Potionless story, among other works.
teddy-feathers is a good sources of reblogged material and may be scheming to wow us all with works of their own someday.
jupiter235 also reblogs a lot, and has a Dracula AU in progress, as well as some other AUs and some completed one-shots.
megamegaturtle has a whole bunch of one-shots and at least one multi-chapter in progress.
Emersonian has a sequel set years after the movie, about one of Marianne and Bog’s children being cursed as a baby, trapped in another dimension as a teenager, and ending up in a high school for villains.
spirrum doesn’t seem active in the fandom anymore but still has some good stories archived.
dancesonmoonlight has a whole bunch of AU stories on AO3 and fanfiction.net.
Islenthatur has AO3 and FFnet stories, some of which are ongoing.
whimsicalitywhee has some one-shots buried in their archives, along with some characterperspective explorations mid-movie, a dancing Bog gif, fan art, and an ongoing human/ghost AU, the last of which is also on AO3 and fanfiction.net.
celepom has both artwork and high-quality screenshot collections.
tamiletrange has a tutorial for Marianne’s makeup!
catesartworks is an illustrator/painter/animator reworking the story for greater racial diversity.
freyamaat is an artist with a Beauty and the Beast semi-crosssover in the works.
levele3 has written a collection of Human AU stories.
noprimroses is a joint fanblog with art, headcanons, fanfiction, gif sets, and edits.
danger-flammable, or a3rie, has illustrations and wrote a cute one-shot about the Imp’s backstory.
hellfire-bunny is plotting Butterfly Bog Angst.
Marianne Is The Best Disney Princess, Cedar-King and OwlQuill Scribblings are all Strange Magic-dominated side-blogs, because the users found Strange Magic posts and reblogs were taking over their other blog.
(Anyone and everyone, feel free to tack on more names, or tag a new fan you notice so they can have the list!)
Tumblr media
And here are a list of headcanons to decide, if you need prompts to get you started on your own world-building:
What exactly is Sugar Plum?
What happens in the winter? Do fairies migrate? Do goblins hibernate? Does everyone hibernate?
What happened to Marianne and Dawn’s mother?
What happened to Bog’s father?
How did Bog come to be king - inheritance from one of his parents, or defeating the previous ruler in combat/assassinating them?
Will Marianne and Bog (and Dawn and Sunny, for that matter) be able to have biological children?
What happens next for Stuff and Thang?
Are Marianne’s tiny sparring partners pixies or sprites? (I’ve heard but not confirmed that, if the movie is played with subtitles or Descriptive Video, they are called pixies, but it never comes up between the characters so it’s still up in the air.)
What are the fuzzy people, seen in both the Fairy Kingdom (Marianne dropped a baby one off a bridge by accident in the opening) and in the Dark Forest (one fell in love with a mushroom)?
What is the Fairy King’s name? (TV Tropes says it’s “Dagda”, but since it never came up in the movies or the credits it can be changed.)
Is Roland a redeemable character?
Who/what is the insectoid person Roland was dusted for?
What is the backstory of Bog’s first love interest? What happened to her after That Fateful Day?
Where is the music come from? Can the characters hear the background music?
Are humans a thing in this universe? If so, is it modern times, sometime in the past, or some time in the future?
Some animals can talk and some can’t. What’s the boundary line carnivores and omnivores use to determine sentience?
Do fairies eat meat? For that matter, do elves or goblins eat meat? (We know from the blackberries on the table in the lofely snack room that goblins eat plants.)
What is Marianne’s makeup made of, and where does it come from?
Why does the Fairy Kingdom have more metalwork than the Dark Forest?
How deep does the implied racial/species segregation in the Fairy Kingdom go?
Where are Bog, Griselda, and any other goblins who lived in the castle going to live now?
What other kingdoms, countries, etc. does each kingdom have contact and/or trade with?
How did Dawn and Sunny first meet?
Are fairies born or hatched? Are they born/hatched with wings or do those grow later?
Fountains in the fairies’ ballroom suggest plumbing - how common is that?
How do Pare and Sunny know each other, beyond living in (probably) the same village? How well did they know each other pre-movie?
Do the mushrooms have another language that the goblins mistranslate, or do some messages actually change along the mushroom line, or do they not enunciate clearly, or do the goblins on messenger duty happen to have poor hearing?
Did any goblins secretly date or marry during Bog’s love ban?
To close, here’s another gif:
Tumblr media
You are Sunny. The dandelion seeds are the overwhelming number of various fanworks you now have access to. Have fun!
Quick reminder - anyone not already on the list, it’s not that I don’t like your stuff, I probably just forgot to add a link you! Message or Ask me and I will put you in! (Also, if someone is shy and doesn’t want to be in the Welcome Basket, that’s okay too.) Every time I repost this I get at least one message of “don’t forget [name]!”

Quit the Reposting, Find The Source!
Let’s talk about a topic that is near and dear to my heart!
Reposting artwork, specifically fanart!
Definition of a Repost: A piece of content (fanart/gif) that is saved from a location (tumblr, facebook, instagram, pinterest, etc), and then posted again, somewhere else, rather than reblogged or linked.
Before we go any further into this rant (because it is going to have some ranty bits!), I want to make one thing, one hundred percent, explicitly clear to you all, in case there was any question whatsoever.
REPOSTING FANART IS STEALING FANART
REPOSTING FANART (even with credit) WHEN THE ARTIST HAS SPECIFICALLY NOT GIVEN PERMISSION OR HAS ASKED FOR NO REPOSTS TO HAPPEN IS STEALING FANART
Now that we have that absolutely crystal clear, I want to understand why there is still a problem here.  So I want to break down the common “protests” when it comes to reposting!  I want to explain why it’s so important to ensure we are giving credit to the artists who are doing this work, because they are amazing, and they deserve it!
1. “I found this on Google, and I don’t know where it came from and I want to share it with my friends!”
I’m glad that you found something you love - whether it was on Google, or Tumblr, or DeviantArt, or Pinterest, or Instagram, etc!  There’s so much amazing art in this fandom, and other fandoms that it sometimes seems like it’s everywhere that you look!  (Especially for popular pairings!)
With that said - someone, somewhere, put effort (likely a lot of effort, in the case of fanart) into the creation you’re admiring, and they deserve credit for that admiration.  Whether it’s a reblog so you expose them to more potential fans, or whether it’s someone checking out their blog and realizing that they do art for another fandom they love - artists create things because they want to, and post content to show it to as many people as possible.
Just because you found something somewhere, doing a generic search, doesn’t mean that we, as a fandom, shouldn’t ensure that the person who created that “thing” you found, gets the admiration for it.
2. “I found this and I don’t know who made it or where it’s from, but I made a thing based off of it, here, enjoy!”
I do this all of the time!
I’ll run into a gifset or photo that just absolutely tears at my heart in every possible way, and I HAVE to sit down and write a fic about it!  In my experience, often, the creators of the gifset, or art, LOVE to hear that they’ve inspired you to create something else!
But they need to know, and they deserve to know!  (It’s a bit of an ego boost to know that you inspired someone!)  If you end up replying off of a reposted picture, or you found it from a place that is not the source, you’re never going to end up with that connection to the artist you could have forged instead!
I’ve had some really, really close friendships form as a result of creating something that was inspired by someone else’s work.  (Looking at @sabriel-otp here, because it was a fic I wrote that inspired them to get into Sabriel!)
It’s important to source where you’ve gotten your inspiration from, so you can continue to give that feedback loop of inspiration.  You inspired them, maybe they then inspire you!  There is good for everyone that happens as a result, and more exposure for you both!
With that said - there IS a difference in creating something new, versus just making small changes to an already existing piece.  (Adding sparkles to, that kind of thing.)  In those cases, reach out to the artist to ask permission!  Sometimes you might not get permission, and respecting the request from the artist becomes paramount.  Please make sure to keep that in mind!
3. “My friend gave this to me ages ago and I don’t know where it came from, but I love it so you’ll love it too!”
I bet that I will love it!
Do you know if the artist has created more pieces that might be available for you to enjoy?
Knowing the source and where the art came from will help not only the artist gain more exposure, but it might show you several pieces that you haven’t seen before that you can now appreciate and admire!
Unsure where it came from, or it’s been so long you don’t know where the original is anymore?  I supply a link to google reverse image search in the next question!
4. “I found it on Google/Tumblr/FB and it didn’t have a source!”
This is sadly very often the case.
Especially with popular gifsets and fanart.
In some cases, because things continue to be reposted, over and over again, some content creators will stop creating content, because it continues to be stolen over and over again.  @sabriel-otp, who has created some truly STUNNING manipulations and gifsets over the past few years, has almost entirely stopped generating new content, due to continuous reposting and stealing of their work.
A few examples would be the “Together We Soar” gifsets, which even had a t-shirt campaign!  Sab created all of them - the Dean one talking about pie and cake, the Gabriel one talking about moose.  The Cas one, the Sam one.  I’ve seen them reposted a HUNDRED times.  All without credit to the creator.
Another would be a truly STUNNING manipulation Sab did of Sam in some lingerie.  It’s been reposted hundreds of times over.  Hell, I’ve even seen it show up on some men in lingerie blogs I follow.  All without credit.
So if something doesn’t have a source, take the time to look at the following two links, please.
Link Number One - This is a link to a series of step by step instructions on how to do a google image search, whether you are on a desktop or mobile (apple or android).
Link Number Two - This is the google page to actually DO a google image search.  The url is images.google.com in case you ever need it in a jiffy.  As Link number one tells you, there are a variety of ways to do a search.  You can -
Upload an image from your computer or phone
Drag and drop an item into the search box (my personal favorite)
Search using an image URL (right click on an image to “copy image URL” for this option)
OR, right click on an image in Chrome and the option “Search Google for this image”.  There’s also an extension that can be downloaded for Firefox to give the same functionality.
I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that any time I have had to use it, Reverse Image Search has not failed me.  (I’ve run into deleted blogs, but I had an artist to give credit to, at the least.)  It often takes no more than five minutes.
Sometimes there are pages (3 or more) of pinterest reposts of an image.  Ignore the Pinterest URLs and keep scrolling until a “source website” starts showing up.  Then you can trace it to the originator.
ALL fanart has a source.  ALL of it.  Appreciating the content, means you need to be appreciating the creator of that content.
Take the five minutes to ensure they get the appreciation they deserve.
5. “I didn’t have time to find the source!”
Take the time.
Don’t post until you have a source.
If you do?  You’ve stolen that credit, that exposure and that opportunity from the artist.
Take the time to find the source.  The creator deserves that.
There is no excuse.
6. “I know the artist said no reposts, but there’s a link to their tumblr!  I gave them credit!”
No.
No you did not.
You went against their express wishes and did something they are not okay with and do not approve of.
There is no excuse, no argument, and no situation in which this is okay.
Period.
This is what reposting does -
Reposting takes away the chance for the artist to gain a new fan (or more).
Reposting steals away the chance for the artist to gain more exposure for their work.
Reposting perpetuates the lack of caring around the time and effort spent to create a piece.
Reposting hurts artists.
Am I saying that everyone who has reposted art from an artist was wrong and that they took work that was not theirs to take, no matter how they found the art?  Yes.  Yes I am.
If you didn’t know about reposting, or didn’t realize you reposted/reblogged a repost, or didn’t understand what reposting is, I get that.  I’m not upset at anyone who was legitimately unaware that this was an issue or a problem, or what they were contributing to.  But I’m asking that now that you do know, please do not continue to perpetuate the cycle that hurts our amazing fanartists.
(Bolded the above to make that explicitly clear!)
With that said, I have one thing to add, to the group who IS doing reposting intentionally -
To those who repost artwork and specifically repost it with the artist signature cut off so you either get credit for it or leave it ambiguous enough that you get notes?  You are...
Not worth the insults I could come up with to use against you.
Instead I’ll say this.  You’re one of the reasons that amazing artists leave a fandom.  You’re one of the reasons that an artist will see a post with their art that has 20,000 more notes than the original and cry.  You are the driving force behind the reposting problem.
Instead of calling you, the intentional reposters, names, insults and eloquently ripping you a new one, I’m going to ask you to stop.
The first step in addressing any issue is asking you to stop.  After that....well....
You deserve every single reported post, and every single inbox flood of comments demanding credit be given to artists.  Consider that your warning, you miscellaneous carpet stains.
Quick recap, just in case anyone is still confused!
REPOSTING FANART IS STEALING FANART
REPOSTING FANART (even with credit) WHEN THE ARTIST HAS SPECIFICALLY NOT GIVEN PERMISSION OR HAS ASKED FOR NO REPOSTS TO HAPPEN IS STEALING FANART
TL;DR: Please stop taking from artists.  There are no excuses other than laziness.  Artists deserve better, and we should treat them better.
Stop making excuses.

Thank you!

Frequently asked Questions & Answers
Q&A
Most frequently asked Questions & Answers
Since I heard that some of you are mobile users only, I decided to copy this into an ordinary post. But I might not edit this one all that much…
So yeah, I hope it helps you cookies :)
- - -  I do not take requests. I sometimes react to suggestions, but don’t expect me do draw it - - -
How can I call you? Mali… Mali is fine. Some go by “M'lady”, but I prefer Mali :)
Can I call you senpai? Please no… that’s just wrong.
Pronouns? She/her
When is your birthday? 8th April
Where are you from? Germany.
What languages do you speak? German, english and russian (only speaking and some reading) Oh yeah, I can read a little bit french :D
Where do you work? I won’t talk about private stuff :) So please accept that.
Private stuff? Nop, I won’t answer them, if I don’t want to.
I’d like to talk to you but I am so shy…. Don’t be. I always try to respond everyone who writes me. Sometimes I need time for that…. sometimes I reply at once. It really doesn’t matter, but I do reply and I am always kind :)
What tools do you use? Mouse and my Wacom Intous Pen -graphic tablet. I also draw a lot of traditional stuff. Pen and Paper ftw.
Programs? Photoshop Elements 7(yes.), Clip Studio Paint, Sai, Manga Studio Debut 4.0
You’re so talented! I’m not… honestly. I’ve been drawing for 10 years now, it’s all practise. And I stopped drawing alot… losing motivation and strength for it.
Arts School? Arts profession? Nop, all self-taught. No arts profession here.
You’re being rude… I’m sassy, I’m rude and I’m honest. Deal with it.
How did you learn to draw??
Do you stream? Sometimes…. rarely… Here
Swapfell Dawn is my AU and my take on on the term “Swapfell” and has nothing to do with it’s original creator Kkhopangg(KH) or Fellswap.
The comics I’m doing use the base of my AU. They are different to the popular versions and their story and personality belong to me. I was inspired by other artists on their design, but I developed them all alone.
Do you have a masterlist for Swapfell Dawn/Sympathy? Yes, but it’s only available for PC users… I am too lazy to make an extra post that I have to update too… sorry.
My Swapfells are inspired by yours! Credit always the person with the original idea. I also stated that KH had the original idea. But I didn’t know them back then and just started a story with the term “Swapfell = A Swap that fell”
I love the swapfells because of you! You are the Creator of Swapfell for me! I feel very, very honored about this statement, but it’s wrong in some way. The first idea was given by KH and I don’t want to take their title. And I don’t want people to force to take it. But I am very happy that I could make this AU interesting for you. Since that Swapfell/Fellswap debate I am even more determined to call my Swapfells “Sfd!sans aka. Black” and “sfd!papyrus aka Pup”. They belong to the Swapfell Dawn universe that splits from the mainstream line, so I won’t disturb the peace there. Of couse you can see it as your headcanon for Swapfell, I will feel more than honored. After all there was no real plot for them so far and this is just my take on…. Mweh
I want to hug your sfbros! This is a hugfree zone. Please stop sending me asks about that.
I want to hug you! I’m spiky, get the fck away from me. I am picky about hugs D:
Hugs? Never.
I want to hug you/Black/Pup! These asks will be ignored. You can go and hug stripper Jerry.
Can I create my own stories with your Swapfell Dawn boys?
No. Because I am still working on Dawn and I don’t want others to use my idea for them in their stories. If it’s about fanart/fanfictions for my story then it’s okay. But don’t make your own thing with them.
My Swapfell Dawn bois are known as “Black” and “Pup”. Pup calls his Sans “M'lord, sire, lord or Sans”… Black calls him “Mutt, Pap, Papy (special cases), Papyrus or other creative names to degrade him”
Suggestions and HCs for the SFD bois? You can write me about them, but don’t expect me to adapt them :)
You didn’t answer my ask Sorry… sometimes I delay answering stuff and I get honestly a ton more asks than I would’ve dared to imagine…. I love you all but shit… please don’t be mad if I take my time or don’t answer at all…. x.x
That music fits your Sfd!Bois! Feel free to send me stuff! I always listen to it, but I didn’t come to answer the previous suggestions… ahh.. so lazy me…
Is Sympathy on hold? Yes and no…. I will draw it when I feel like it.
Will Sympathy be continued at all? At some later point yes. I won’t stop that project.
When do you update your comics? That depends on my free time and mood. It’s always different. Sometimes I just need breaks….
There are different designs for your SFD!Bois… I change them from time to time. Sometimes depending on what I display and if it happened before or after Sympathy. Sympathy influences the final design of the Swapfell Dawn bois.
Can I call your AU still Swapfell? Yes, but since it’s my Au with MY story, MY design and MY interpretation, I’ve decided to give it an extra name so people won’t get confused about it anymore. I’m not using the design of others anymore.
Do not repost my art/comics without my permission. Do not sell/edit/whatever my art. If you want to have prints, then you can purchase the art and I’ll send you a higher resolution.
Can I use your art as icon? As BG on my Phone/PC…. Yes, but please to credit me. And I don’t mind if you use my stuff as background for your devices! What an honor!
I want to translate your comics…. First write me and get permission. I will talk about this with you.
My art/idea was inspired by yours… Credit me then. Because it’s rude and unfair to state it was your idea all alone. This involves character design, such as using my Swapfell bois as reference.
Can I draw SFD!Sans/SFD!Papyrus/SFD!Muffet/SFD!….? Can I write a fanfiction about them? Yes, sure! I don’t know why you want to do fanart for me, but jfc just do it! I am always happy to see my bois/my AU figures drawn in your style! Why would I not allow it? I love them and if you love them too, then it’s even better! And yes, you can also write fanfictions about my story, my pictures or whatever! Many talented writers already gifted me fantastic short fanfictions! I’ll be more than eager to read them! But sometimes I don’t have that much time, so please don’t be disappointed D:
Just please credit that you used my design/my AU there :D Less confusion for others and respect for me. Please don’t pretend it’s your design/idea, that’s what I wouldn’t like to see. And please don’t forget it’s your creation, so it’s not part of my AU unless I state that it’s an addition for it.
I drew fanart for you! I wrote a fanfiction for you! Just pm me, tag me or whatever, so I can see it. I usually always review stuff I get and comment on it. But don’t expect me to reblog it. It’s my decision after all. And please make sure that people don’t think that your fanfiction or art is part of the actual story, if you do art of it more often :) I tag stuff that belongs to the AUs I am working on.
Can I cosplay your Swapfells? YES!? Just credit my stuff and SHOW ME JFC
Requests? No.
I want a commission! Take a look at my commission page!
I want to support you! Comments, Reblogs, Pms…. I take it all.
I am also a huge fan of reading tags. They are sooooo cool at times.
You can also support me with Hot Chocolate <3</p>
Translation List:
French Translation by @yskmoscanyaoifr
Russian Translator  by forgot their tumblr.. fck xD PM ME Who else did I forget?
How to react if you see my stuff stolen/reuploaded/sold…. First off: Just pm and link me. I will check if I know that guy, talk to them…and if they ignore me then I’ll try to report them or something.  I guess I have to learn to deal with this too. It’s just sad to see how they don’t respect work of others. I mean this happens to every artists. Don’t panic… i I just want people to be honest and some are not…
