would you say you think you have a decent amount of halsin’s romance left and that there’s more content to come? or do u think its sort of run its course? I’ve seen lots of ppl here say they think his romance is lacking a bit :/

This is gonna have spoilers in it, so SPOILER WARNING BELOW:

Hm... I'm still on Act 3, and I'm not sure to be honest with you. This is still my first play-through, and first romance I've done in the game thus far; but it is definitely less than the others.

The length being shorter is very likely due to the fact that Halsin was added later into development, and it was likely easiest to add the small flirting for the first two acts- THEN add the first romance scene you get with him into the beginning of Act 3. It's disappointing when you compare it to others (Hello Gale, I gave you two magic artifacts and you wanna eat my ass), yeah- I wish he had just as much.

HOWEVER- I do feel like they handled his lack of content in the beginning well enough to give a reason for it; you'll find that Halsin has a bit of a one-track mind imo. The Shadow Curse is something he openly admits he focuses so much on, that he can't think of anything else- and that whenever the curse is lifted- then he can hopefully focus on other things (and onto people- like Tav.)

He's very goal driven in my opinion; after the Shadow Curse is dealt with, he finds himself wondering what to do now- and openly admits to you that he misses the distraction it gave- the thing to do, to focus his attention on, which he has been focusing on for so long- and now it's just... Gone.

So to have him not want to have sexual relations with Tav till after the Shadow Curse is taken care of (meaning finishing the 2nd act) makes sense for him as a character; he can't focus on anything else, and he knows himself he wouldn't be giving himself fully to a relationship while trying to deal with the curse. He jokingly mentions that perhaps if he didn't always talk about/think about this curse, then he may have better luck with getting a lover (This isn't verbatim- it's been a bit since I talked to him and he said this so don't quote me.)

Anyways; that's all to say that yeah, he is lacking compared to others sadly, but I think Larian did a good job at trying to make it make sense as to why he's later than the others. And also, in Act 3, I think I'm starting to get into the meat of his problems that he's dealing with right now- so I'm HOPING that leads to more, we shall see :)

TELL ME ABOUT LOUSTAT MISSING SCENE PLEASE PLEASE

Omg gladly!! 🥹 It's about something that I think about often and that's the missing scene from Merrick when Lestat gives Louis more of his blood after reviving him. Being that Merrick is from David's pov obviously, we never get to see that bit between Louis and Lestat because David leaves the room. But it seems like such a vital point in Louis and Lestat's relationship.

Lestat wakes up from a several year long coma to find that his lover has died by suicide. Once he's revived him, surely he would have questions. The main one being simply 'Why?' Why would Louis be driven to such a thing?

And I think that Louis would have things he'd want to say to Lestat about his time alone, waiting for him to wake up.

Overall, as well as being a pivotal moment for Louis (getting a major power boost), it's also a vital point in his relationship with Lestat imo. There are many things they have to say to each other after being apart for so long, so to speak, as well as talking about Louis' suicide specifically.

Idk, I just wanted to explore that moment between them because it feels important to them. Louis needs more blood, sure but they also needed to talk. I imagine that emotions were running very high; they were both hurt but also relieved to have each other again. I think their emotions were all over the place, one minute they don't know what to say to one another, the next they're pointing fingers and placing blame and excuses for why certain things happened, then the storm passes and they hold each other tight before Lestat gives his blood to Louis.

There are many missing scenes that I'd love to explore more but this one stands out to me and like I said, I think about it a lot so it made sense to go with this one.

gonna talk cult au for a bit here though because that's 99% of my content. and honestly? she thrives in sub au's of the cult au like villain au + imposter au. it's basically made for her. i mean, early days, the imposter au had been going around for a little while but one of the first few ideas was the Fatui taking reader in so like. it kinda technically actually was. pretty sure cult au Tsaritsa popped up because of the imposter au. a lot of it's writers kinda left though which. man am i getting old or.

anyway.

there isn't much of a chance her first impression is all that positive. at best it's usually neutral, imo, but rarely if ever positive. specifically because i view the Tsaritsa as someone who isn't as fanatical as most of the acolytes typically are towards the creator. she's not exactly going to worship the ground you walk on unlike a certain geo lizard. which is partially why i think she thrives in the sub au's i mentioned.

imposter au, for example. she meets you at your lowest. there's no gaudy extravagance or pampering from the acolytes waiting for you because your own acolytes have turned on you. for all intents and purposes you aren't a "god" at all. which is why i don't think she meshes well with normal cult au reader. the Fatui are made up of outcasts, basically, and imposter au slots right in just perfectly. you're weak, at your lowest, when you meet the Fatui in the imposter au. and the Fatui can help you, too.

a mutual exchange, really. the Tsaritsa sees a tool she can use to one up the rest of the nations and especially Archons, and she has no qualms about you using her and the Fatui in turn. you both want something out of it, after all. whether you just want to be safe from the rest of the acolytes, or you want revenge, or whatever else..she'll give you the power to fulfill it, and she gains the strongest piece on the chessboard when all is said and done.

the best way i can describe the first meeting is "practical", i suppose. she sees an opportunity in you. the ultimate gamble. because if she "saves" you, and you dont trust anyone else because they tried to kill you, well..she holds all the cards, doesn't she?

but the Tsaritsa, imo, is just as capable of being just as fanatical towards you as anyone else. she just won't worship you as the creator. but as yourself? clawing your way back to your divine power and taking back what belongs to you? the Tsaritsa is, to me, a character who's character flourishes in long-term fics more because she changes a LOT between "just met reader" and after having been with reader for some time. she's practically apathetic at the beginning but a lot of her character, in my characterization, shines through LONG after the first meeting.

SO HERE'S THE THING..... does Harvey want kids yes. i cannot envision Harvey not wanting kids at all. I do not go against Canon. but can i see CF having kids? i mean not really. he would be fine with her making the final decision the self sacrificing bastard he is at his core, but my silly little heart does want him to have everything he's ever wanted and more... so... who knows!! i might win the war against cringefail. i have triumphed before.

this MIGHT happen this might be a full on sneak peak on an upcoming part tbh but it just comes up casually, and pretty early on. he asks her in a way that doesn't make her uncomfortable. she goes "eh, i don't know" seriously considers it, doesn't freak out. it's casual, weirdly enough for them. she realizes the implications of this conversation as she goes "do you.. want kids..?" he is NOT realizing the implications of this conversation and says "i mean, the thought of two little redhead kids running around the farm is pretty cute" signaling that 1) he's already so so so so committed to her and 2) he fully expects both of their children to be ginger despite the fact that cf's ginger hair genes are probably very recessive, i will let you come to your own conclusions. the moment he utters those words it's over

this is an invitation to ramble about slade/batboy ships: sladick, sladejay, sladetim, sladedami, and other batfam member/villain ships, especially jayroman and ra'stim :)

AAAAAA this is so delightful oh my god thank you. adding a read more just because this one is going to get Long to cover all the ships and all my opinions. because my god do i love Slade.

firstly, the original Robin/villain ship, SlaDick. Slade Wilson, literally created to be a Teen Titans villains, with the original Robin he cannot be normal about ever. i'm so sad there's not much interest in Slade aside from making him a generic Evil Guy who canonically likes teenagers because i think to just boil down his complex with Dick to 'weird attraction' robs them of SUCH nuance. Slade *trusts* Dick, he trusts Dick enough to ask Dick to train his own daughter Rose. and initially Slade's complex over Dick isn't sexual, it's seeing Dick as a replacement for his dead son, Grant. that's messy as hell and i love them for it. i don't think there's a single villain that has the respect for Dick that Slade has. i'm always of the opinion Dick's attraction to Slade is rooted in daddy issues and Slade's attraction to Dick is rooted in dead son issues. do i think they could end up as an old married couple? yes but only in a world where Dick is completely broken and feels alone. my favorite SlaDick flavor is post-Jason's death. Dick and Bruce are arguably at their worst during that era to begin with so Dick is pretty isolated and emotionally unstable. and Slade would take such advantage of that, swooping in to offer Dick emotional stability and fucked up sex to get out pent up emotions. (i'm big a big fan of Dick fucking out his feelings tbh) and Slade is just. this sort of bad habit Dick will kick for a year or two then come crawling back to. you can directly track how well Bruce and Dick are getting along based on how many times Dick has slept with Slade recently. and that's the prize, for Slade. knowing Dick will come back to him, eventually. it's all about patience. and if something really extreme happened to Dick (like Bruce's fake death) i think they'd even date briefly. it's not entirely impossible for Dick to date someone he disagrees with morally (see: his flings with Helena) and i think Dick would keep trying to 'save' Slade, using the upper hand he has of filling in this role of Slade's dead son to try to domesticate him. would it work? who knows but if anyone is going to try over and over, it's going to be Dick. it's practically self-harm for Dick yet the only thing keeping him sane. i love them.

SladeJay is... an interesting one for me. because i like the *potential*. but they have no significant interactions pre-Flashpoint. and while usually i can forgive New-52 and Rebirth for their grievances if it has ship fodder i just... can't do that for Jason. Judd Winick's Jason is the only Jason that exists to me so even Slade and Jason's canon interactions matter little to me because it's not the version of Jason i care for. the upside of that though, is it's more of a sandbox to explore what they could be and there are no limitations. i can just run wild. which is fun bc. you're telling me Slade wouldn't be so drawn in by the idea of a dead Robin who's come back and is now the antithesis of Bruce's morality? i think at some point Slade would want to poke the bear, really see what Red Hood is made of. do i see them working long-term? no but i do think Jason would have zero qualms working with Slade if he got something out of it. and if he could fuck with Bruce or Dick by having a short, fucked up relationship with Slade? that's even better. i don't think Slade could ever truly respect Jason, at the end of the day the Dick Grayson standard is too high and Slade would sneer at the idea of a legacy who fucked it up so bad he got blown up. but, he'd see that as Bruce's failure more than Jason's. and for Jason to have someone look him in the eye and say that Bruce *failed* him? i think that'd just *do* something to Jason. and Slade has lost a son, he knows what that loss feels like, how you feel you failed as a father. would he have interest in being fatherly to Jason? no but i think he'd have fun momentarily manipulating Jason and seeing what reactions he gets out of what jeers. Jason's been calling himself a failure this whole time, so to have someone else say it is no real big deal, but to have someone else say it's Bruce's fault and voice Jason's feelings? they'd have the most fucked up sex with the most unhealthy dirty talk that's both gentle and degrading. i don't think Jason would ever let himself get too close, he's far too emotionally guarded. but for a second, i think he'd fantasize about having even *half* the amount of attention that Slade gives Dick. bc what has Jason always been, but in Dick's shadow.

SladeTim. my two blorbos. in one place. somewhere in my drafts i have a half-started longfic about SladeTim that's one half really fucked up porn and one half slowburn feelings. arguably Tim and Slade don't have many canon interactions, but it's fun to me that when they do, Slade always seems sort of startled by how well Tim fights back and Tim's willingness to fight dirty in a way even Dick doesn't. and to me, that's the crux of this ship. as far as Robins go, Tim should sort of slip under the radar for Slade. he's not the dead one turned villain, he's not the grandson of Ra's al Ghul, hell he's not even the child of a second-rate villain like Steph, he's not *the* Dick Grayson, he's just... the other one. grew up pretty rich and normal and fell for all of Bruce's wax poetic nonsense. so when Tim puts himself on the map as a hero, makes himself a worthy opponent against Slade that's interesting. even to Tim, Slade isn't a particularly remarkable villain since Slade cares to stay more on Dick's radar. so when they cross paths there's a lot of unexpected. neither of them have thought about the other too hard. so there's this interest and intrigue about it i love. i'm a big fan of the idea Tim is a massive masochist, both physically and emotionally and Slade is The Sadist Ever so. i like them falling into bed together and having the most fucked up sex. like Tim just being a Weird Little Freak so fucked up even Slade raises an eyebrow. because this isn't what you *expect* of a kid like Tim, who's had a pretty easy life before tangling with vigilantes. he should be like a fish out of water, but instead he's matching Slade's energy in ways even Dick doesn't. and of course, how smart he is, that's an asset. it takes a special kind of kid to have the audacity to poison Lady Shiva with hotel chocolates and pull it *off* no less. it earns a begrudging respect, and it's rare to get Slade to respect someone. i really like the idea of Tim seeking Slade out only for fucked up sex and somehow Slade falls for this weird little freak who's cold and clinical outside of sex and keeps him guessing.

i'll be honest i've only considered SladeDami in the context of seeing antis say 'omg Slade has been predatory toward Damian ewww' and going 'no the fuck he hasn't but if you want that so bad i'll ship it just to spite you all' but their canon interactions do fascinate me. a lot of how they interact is predicated on Slade as a father, even more so than SlaDick. like Slade will fight Damian and then be like 'hey be good to your old man fathers need their sons' and fucking dip. and then with the whole Respawn thing and Shadow War? that was extra crunchy. for a brief moment Slade had a son who was a brother to Damian and then he goes and *dies*? talk about the complex that would give him with Damian, the spitting image of Respawn. Make Slade Weird About Batkids That Remind Him of His Son 2024. Damian holds an utter contempt for Slade that is simply unmatched. so Slade not leaving that kid alone because of his weird issues, making sure that Bruce doesn't screw up with Damian the way he screwed up with Respawn is very fun. and Damian slowly building up a tolerance to Slade's annoying antics could be fun. Damian is, at his core, still just a kid who needs the approval of something father-shaped and he will Take What He Can Get. are they ever healthy or long lasting? no but i do think Damian would cling to Slade during his teen years for something incredibly fucked up and codependent until either Slade dumped him or he forced himself to get over it.

JayRoman. i will not lie love these two but i don't think i've read many Black Mask comics when he's not interacting with Jason. which is funny because my entire conception of Roman is him just getting humiliated by Jason and really what more is there to know about the man. Jason is so unserious in how he handles Roman and the best part is you can tell it's truly because he doesn't see Roman as a threat. Roman's just a pawn in the game of getting Bruce's attention and sure, Jason is aiming to kill Roman by the end of it, but he'll always have bigger fish to fry. and that's so *infuriating* for Roman. this new guy who's *clearly* a fucking teenager shows up, owns you so badly it shatters your empire, and then you only live bc he seems to have gotten bored of you. JayRoman is my particular favorite ship for the flavor of 'the sub in bed is in control of every other aspect of their relationship and their submission is a gift that can be revoked at any time' which we don't get enough. fucked up power dynamics always have the sub being the one lacking control. and whilst i enjoy when Roman is able to absolutely control and manipulate Jason through various means, i think in canon, it makes far more sense he's pathetic and begging Jason for even a *chance*. and Jason very specifically picking who he subs for based on someone who he could kill or destroy at the drop of the hat if he needed to is a very Jason thing to do. there will never be trust between these two. they will fuck nasty and Roman will be in love with Jason. but they are both carrying a gun during sex. the gun is probably involved during the sex.

Ra'sTim. my everything. Red Robin (2009) you will always be famous to me. what *don't* they have. forced proximity. enemies to lovers. forced partnership. one-sided obsession. ridiculously large age gap. deep unforgivable betrayal. i will never evacuate these two from my brain dear god. Ra's is another one of those villains who gets painted with one broad stroke of being cartoonishly evil with no exploration of his interesting nuance. making him nothing but a villain is boring. where is the Ra's who loves so deeply and fully and has to lose his loved ones over and over and will not let that happen to Tim. he wants to consume Tim in a 'cannibalism as a metaphor for love but also probably literal cannibalism' way. the amount of trust put in Ra's in order for Tim to be able to betray him as spectacularly as he did? that's glorious. Tim had full unfiltered access to Ra's' computers even when he was advised against trusting Tim so much. and then Tim wins against Ra's and willingly lets Ra's kill him. (obviously Dick saves him, but I'm of the opinion Tim was just committed to dying in that moment and he was Okay With That) 'i will betray you if it's the last thing i do' as an act of love. Tim is to Ra's what Dick is to Slade. you will never convince me Tim and Ra's didn't hatefuck at least once during RR (2009) with a questionable level of consent. i'm so serious i will never shut up about them. the way Tim talks about working with Ra's as if he's making a deal with the devil and Ra's talks about Tim like he's the precious, once in a life time thing, one of the only people worthy to produce an heir for Ra's. how's that not gay. what other ship involved one of them literally trying to have the other's baby to raise as an heir. Ra's would probably carry the baby himself if he could. memes aside they're just so. they're so it. i love when Tim is forced into a Situation where he has to work with Ra's and confronts the darker aspects of himself that Ra's wants to bring out but Tim wants to squash. it is The corruption kink. whether Ra's succeeds or not in corrupting Tim doesn't even matter because the real crux of this ship is the chase. it's the way the heart pounds when they reach out for each other and you don't know if it's for a kiss or a killing blow. it's very Hannigram to me, in that i don't even need or want them to kiss to know they're in love. love to them is not true love's kiss, it's the thoughtful place they decide to stab the other in. be the sheath to my dagger type ship. hold all this bloody violence i know you're capable of inside of you. let me cut the violence out of you ship. what more can you ask for from a ship. Ra's would tie Tim down and torture him both as foreplay and as a love language and Tim would be too fucked up and self-sacrificial to stop him. always playing the dangerous game of how far will the other let them go until someone tries to die or kill. listen i think i lost the plot here but my point is they're unwell about each other. Tim will make Ra's regret the day he met Tim Drake not just for the betrayal but because Ra's can never go back to a time Before Tim. before knowing what the chase felt like. they're so. them.

When I was playing the game my pet theory was that he fell for Rody's brand of love, for how he loved Manon (he did say that he spoke of Manon when they first met) and Rody's personality.

Something something, how Rody loves so intensely to the detriment of himself (Manon told him to stop giving, to for once in his life realise that he needed to take care of him self and be stable. He can't just account for the other person's needs <- barely know her but I get why Rody was head over heels). How Rody's love is similar to his cooking, burning, burning himself, burning and oh so overwhelming. And I do think Vince wanted the feel of that burn for himself, wanted to feel the warmth and devotion of which he had been so devoid of. To understand what it was he was lacking. How love and cooking go hand in hand in the story, how Vince's dishes were devoid of love, how he can't taste. How Rody's love surely would be strong enough, would be the missing ingredient to allow him to finally taste something. (Also lack of taste going hand in hand with what looks like depression of some sort, or perhaps just apathy for life. How bland his own life may be. How such a love, such a person could perhaps bring some taste to his life.) Vince seems to have killed Manon as a form of trying to show Rody a similar type of love. Giving him something, giving him a meal made out of Rody's own love. A gift since he couldn't give his own brand of love in a way that matters, couldn't give it without showing his own brand of devotion. I do think he 100% had an underlying jealousy and hatred of Manon, how Rody was still stuck up on her. How she never once mentioned Rody when her and Vince dated (though outside of Vince's pov I'm pretty sure Manon was just doing the healthy normal thing by not mentioning an ex?? but Vince is soooo gone) which is obviously a sin (he doesn't seem to take kindly to people who are mean to Rody. Such as the article and Rody's old college classmate) and proof she wasn't deserving enough of Rody's love. But alas she was still a gift and show of love to Rody.

On the personality topic (thought I forgot about that did you?), Rody is such a brash and kind person. A perfect foil for Vincent's more stoic nature. Rody willing to try and befriend Vincent, running into the kitchen to talk to him. He showed a bit of said love to Vince by trying to befriend him and how could Vince not want more? (why wouldn't Vince try to reciprocate in his own way. Make him happy) I mean he seems pretty feared by his cooks, and the people at the party have mentioned that Vince is pretty ruthless, not at all a person many wish to get to know. But Rody is willing to, yet Vince wants his undivided attention...

Okay wow this has gone on way too long uhh I'm 100% open to further discussion especially if I forgot something! And I haven't really looked too much into the game past playing it, so any reveals the creator may have given I'm mostly unaware of and would love to be informed of more!

What do you think would happen immediately after BPS? How would all the parents personaly react to their disappeared and returning children? The kids would really ever throw a party, or just have to fix all the wrecks and be grounded? And Edd and Eddy would even have a face-to-face good conversation about their adventure and what they learned?

I think Eddy would need a validation from Edd more than ever, and the fear they could have lost each other would let them even more attached.

i had detailed ass theories written out for each kid as to what lies they could tell their parents and what the likelihood was that they'd be believed, etc. and then i realized that it could all be solved with a simple phone call from one parent to another lmao. and lbr, the chances that someone's kid is gonna be gone all night and they're not gonna flip the fuck out are slim to none. outside of a couple exceptions of course. i felt like a moron so i didn't include it here. i guess i like to pick and choose when to adhere to cartoon logic 😂

anyway i do think the non-ed kids would get into trouble and be grounded for varying lengths of time. they might have just enough time to have a little kiki in the lane before heading home and getting dragged inside by the ear/bear hugged/further ignored.

one exception might be rolf, because i don't think it'd be entirely out of the norm for him to be gone all night on occasion. maybe he had an urban ranger camping trip that his nana forgot to tell his parents about, or had to chase down an escaped animal into the wee hours of the morning. he enters the house, clearly disheveled and sweating nervously, but probably gets nothing but a fine howdy do from everyone inside.

eddy would be grounded for a comically short period of time because he's a spoiled brat. a couple of days tops. it's really only an attempt by his parents to appease the angry mob. all the other parents know he's the little shit stirring ring leader and berate his guardians accordingly. regarding his absence, he tells them he and the boys rode out the storm in the van and that they were fine. he accepts his punishment because telling them what really happened means telling them he visited his brother and that WOULD get his ass in big trouble. legal stuff, you know. as far as any takeaway he might have... let's be real here, eddy's still the same ole eddy at this point. i don't think the full weight of what just happened has hit him quite yet. he's still reeling about being invited to kev's for jawbreakers and whatever else preteens who don't really like each other do for funsies. i do think that while he's spending aaaaaall that time alone (again, 2 days max), in between trying on outfits for that party at kevin's, the image of edd standing up to his brother does cross his mind. edd, the coward. edd the wimp, stood up to his tormentor. and got swiftly beaten into the ground for it. yet still ran over to make sure he was okay after ed essentially saved his life. ed the dolt. ed the idiot was the one to think of pulling out the pin (literally), and blasting his abuser with a face full of door. i think the guilt, shame and embarrassment would hit him hard, along with a lot of weird mushy stuff that he doesn't really know what to do with. so he doesn't do anything with it. not immediately anyway. but i've already talked about post bps eddy a bit so i'll leave it at that.

i've seen people say that edd's parents wouldn't even notice that he was gone overnight, because... so were they. and yall know i'm the #1 hater of edd's parents so of course i agree lol. if word gets back to them somehow though, i imagine them being very passive aggressive about it. shocking, i know. i feel like they'd go their usual route and punish him by not talking to him - as in not even leaving sticky notes around the house. except for one that says something along the lines of "dear eddward, you are not to leave the house today, as you are hereby grounded until further notice." along with a scroll of chores of course. but yeah they make him wait around and wonder when he'll be able to see his friends again. probably a good few weeks or so. i've always had the headcanon that eddy would be banned from edd's house and maybe this is when that happens as well. if word doesn't get back to them- which is more likely imo because they're so elusive that no one knows how to contact them - i think edd could likely have a bit of a meltdown over their indifference. not to mention the guilt he feels in either scenario. for starters, he feels like he simply must tell someone what he's just witnessed- especially as a future mandated reporter... nah i'm kidding but i do think he'd want to tell an adult what happened to his dearest friend. but he knows it would only compound eddy's grief. outside of that, there's the fact that he feels that he never received a comeuppance of his own. eddy got thrashed by his so-called "hero" in front of his peers, and if his previous punishments are any indication, ed is very likely enduring what can only be described as suburban confinement for the foreseeable future. he, on the other hand, has gotten away with a horrible deed, with more than a year's worth of horrible deeds without so much as a scowl from his parents. he has to fight tooth and nail to resist his compulsion to confess his wrong doing, directly this time. cuz the confessional he wrote at the beginning of this ordeal is still on his desk when he gets home. it's kind of like when people say "at least if you're angry, i know you care", but magnified 100x for his entire life. i think this is when the switch kinda flips for him and he has to come to terms with the fact that his parents are at best, extremely cold and aloof. and at worst, knowingly neglectful. either will be hard for him to accept of course, because he's got an image in his mind already of what "true" neglect looks like:

ed's going in the hole, man. it's the cliche where his parents fawn over sarah and are so thankful that she's okay and "you had us worried sick, missy". only to turn to their other child who was also missing for 24 hours and proceed with the finger wagging and reprimanding. i don't think sarah would rat him out though. in fact at this point she might even try to stick up for her now suddenly not so bad older brother. but to no avail. in fact, it makes his mom angrier - she must have hit her head if she's sticking up for her troublemaking brother. "you see, edward? your erratic behavior has finally landed your little sister in the hospital. hope it was worth it." as far as they're concerned, ed put sarah in grave danger by running away. he was a terrible influence, and for that he's gotta be made an example of... to himself? i'm gonna venture a guess here that dad'll be taking the stairs again. he also boards up the basement window. they take his tv, his tapes, his comics, and all his model making supplies. his mom wanted to take his gravy tub but dad insisted it was too much of a hassle. luckily for him though, they can't take that vivid imagination of his. he spends the next two weeks staring at the ceiling, coming up with a storyline for his own comic, which he starts working on as soon as his belongings are returned. it ends up being sooner than he anticipated. he was told it'd be a month, but his mom is sick of looking at the box of his crap in their bedroom closet, so he's off the hook early. lucky feller. next time he runs away though, he's making extra sure sarah doesn't follow.

obviously i think edd and eddy, really all three eds are going to be even closer than they were before their little excursion. but i think it takes time for eddy to mature enough to truly grasp how meaningful it all was. like he knows, but admitting it is corny af. edd is probably gonna be so preoccupied with deconstructing his relationship with his parents that he's a somewhat aloof for a period. there's also a rumbling within ed, especially after seeing sarah's attempt at defending him. i don't really know what conclusion he comes to except that if he wants even a chance at having a good relationship with his sister, he's gotta get the fuck out of there asap. i do think he'd start "running away" more often, possibly staying with eddward during his burgeoning rebellion, or from time to time, eddy. maybe even rolf. he might also sleep in the van when the weather allows. anything to be away from that hell hole. i wrote in my fic that he'd move out and live with may at age like, 17 i think? literally as soon as possible lol.

How do you think Sheila would have reacted to Gerald if she actually got to see his internet history?

This is like my biggest What-If scenario that I can never think of a good answer for!!

I have inklings of ideas on how to answer this but they're not at all refined, so read below!

Assuming Sheila finds out while she's using TrollTrace and before Gerald and the other trolls knock it down, I think at that point it'd be too late in the narrative to resolve. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the finale of Season 20 is well structured in any way but it's clear that the Troll story was set up to be resolved in one season only. So if Sheila found out about the trolling at the end of the episode, she would either: Not care Slap Gerald silly Or...actually separate from Gerald. I'm gonna try and use as much show logic as I can for these, as well as what would make sense from a writing perspective.

Sheila finding out about Gerald's internet history and not caring anyways is, in my opinion, the most in-universe outcome for Gerald's trolling. He absolutely does not deserve it of course, but I think narratively, he already got his punishment by being sent to Denmark and kinda redeems himself by destroying Troll Trace. However...Sheila doesn't know that. So why would she forgive him or ignore what he's done? Easiest reason would be so that the status quo wouldn't be shaken up and to wrap up the story quickly. In-universe, we see that despite their tense moments,Sheila fully trusts and loves Gerald, and the two are some of the more openly loving couples in the show and definitely of the main 4. If she forgives him, it's because she realizes that she went overboard with how she treated Ike/Kyle and did not want to do the same to Gerald. Maybe she would've assumed that's why he never told her and tried to keep it a secret, showing that Gerald is even more of an idiot for going the lengths he did for keeping his trolling a secret. The reason I think it's the most in-universe is because I kinda think Sheila did find out or know a little about what Gerald was up to, and just didn't want to lose him because we all know Sheila has also done fucked up shit too, so the two of them are not so different. And we know this show has a problem writing women and straight married couples well, so I can totally see the show writing this after they got sick of their serialization experiment.

However, it would be kind of a cop out if Sheila didn't get angry at least once with Gerald. If not her typical anger, then maybe her "so angry she's so done" anger like in the cheesing ep. I don't think she'd physically throw down Gerald, maybe at most a "funny" slap or something, and Gerald would be like "dang it :/" and Kyle would remind him that he's lucky the whole town didn't find out. And it ends with Gerald sleeping on the couch or maybe Sheila pisses on him again. So Gerald would again be stupid for assuming Sheila would immediately divorce him or unleash pure fury on him, but also getting some consequences for his actions without breaking up the family like Kyle wanted. Everything would remain the same for the status quo and we can end this whole narrative.

This one is the least likely but I think could've been super interesting to pull off from a writing standpoint. Just like how the Heidi/Eric subplot carried onto the next season, maybe they could've ended season 20 with Sheila finding, getting angry and kicking Gerald out. So now everything Kyle did to keep his family together failed, and now that can be tied in with the Heidi arc because that's another relationship failing too. The first half of the season before Kyle realizes he likes Heidi could go on as normal, and as Kyle fails to help Heidi too we can see all this build up on him and lead him to blowing up Canada. And then maybe have a scene at the end of the season where after Ike runs away, Gerald realizes how shitty he's been and apologizes, juxtaposing how Heidi has to break out of her mentality and get away from Cartman. And then Gerald and Sheila get back together and Kyle gets at least one win from that season. So yeah that's basically fanfic, and I think that was basically the same time Rick and Morty did the same thing in season 3 (did they?? I cannot recall) so no way would they have done it in the show lol. Plus, apparently not everyone thinks the Broflovski's and Gerald/Sheila are the most important characters in the show, which is just ???

In conclusion, I don't think Gerald and Sheila would've divorced, or stayed separated for too long. Not only would that be a lot of continuity from a season that a lot of the fans disliked and was poorly planned out, if you've watched the entire show you can tell that there's something...weird that happens when divorce is brought up. If they couldn't even divorce Randy/Sharon then they would not care about divorcing Sheila/Gerald permanently. IMO, I don't think Gerald needs to be punished by Sheila for his crimes, because she's his wife not his mother. That's why I don't like Randy's dynamic with Sharon, it feels like she's the nagging wife that takes away his fun even when he's 100% wrong. With Sheila and Gerald, they're both super flawed and yet it's kind of interesting they even got together at all, in another show it would be tragic if Sheila ignored what he did just so that their family wouldn't have to suffer and she can keep that idealized version of her husband in her mind. But it's South Park, so whomst knows.

thank you so much!!! and of course, i'd be happy to answer :D i draw in other styles as well but i rlly do have a soft spot for pixel art. very specifically "girly" pixel art from the early 2000s internet which i grew up with. it's not an art style i see very often these days, so i try my best to emulate it in my art because it's something i want keep alive.

to my understanding the art style was pioneered by girls in the early 2000s who taught themselves how to make pixel art to make "dolls" or cute graphics for their blogs, basically just to have fun on the internet! You've Got Kat made a lovely video related to this covering the history of internet pixel dress up dolls specifically (mostly in the West iirc) if anyone is interested!

i think that pretty much led to all those beautiful vibrant visuals you see in flash games and all the other girly game sites. the korean pixel art scene especially was craazy (i think Maplestory's popularity especially had a hand in it), once ppl realized girls played games and used the internet (LOL), big sites like yahoo korea started busting out the dress up games and pixel stickers/emotes. it was a glorious time tbh!!

it stands out to me because prior to the internet, the girlies never had "cute and girly" pixel art made so specifically For Them in video games, or at least very rarely did they have something like that. and the girly pixel art would continue on and end by the era of girly NDS games, which is also a style of pixel art i love. but yeah!! i just love how unapologetically cute and vibrant and girly it is, and it reminds me of a wonderful time in my life and on the internet ^^

Interesting take all around but I don't think Miquella is associated with or under the control of the Formless Mother. Mohgs lore specifically states that he encountered her in the sewers and the way its presented it sounds like it could've been a face to face encounter, but who's to say. Also if that really is the approach Fromsoft is going for an Outer God being associated with two different demigods, its just, I dunno, lazy, at least that's how if feels to me. They gave Messmer a wholeass new Outer God for his deal, so why not Miquella? I initially theorized that Miquella had a connection to the Twinbird and its Outer God considering that the Mausoleum Knights are a thing because of the Death Birds curse, but the DLC barely gives us anything substantial about them as well... And I highly doubt that Miquella was the one who left the Amber shard at his and Malenia's statue because it seems that the starlight shards are items that fall from the heavens themselves, the shard being at Miquellas statue seems to most likely be a divine prank of sorts, or maybe it fell when he cast aside Trina, idk 🤷

Also the complete lack of Miquella lore regarding his curse in the DLC is frustrating, it's exhausting trying to piece together vague scraps that we will ultimately never get an answer to because as miyazaki has said, "there are no further plans for elden ring." I can't say anything about the exact nature of Miquella's curse because the DLC doesn't give us anything.

I gotta know, gotta ask- HOW do you write the way that you do?? How does one get to that point? I've been wanting to write fanfics for awhile now, but I don't know where to start, and just... do you have any advice at all for beginners? Because you're like... really good at what you do!!

thank you so much!! that's really kind of you to say :') as for beginner tips hmmmm let's see... i'll give some specific fandom tips, then some general writing tips to kind of mix it up for you!

read/watch/etc the media carefully: specifically i mean to watch it not as a viewer, but as someone with an eye on character. pay attention to the way characters talk. what words do they use? what do they say when they're surprised? angry? sad? tired? do they change their words based on who they're talking to or where they are?

read fanworks that exist already: whenever i plan on writing for a new fandom, i'll go over to ao3 and read a few fan works. then, i take note. what are some common tropes i see? what did this author do that i liked? what did this author do that made their version of this character feel off to me? is this a fandom that likes one-shots or chaptered fics? (though you certainly don't have to see these as a rule; for example, i write long one-shots regardless of what everyone else does, just bc that's what i enjoy writing the most!) this'll help you get your writing voice in your head.

write!!!!: don't worry about writing something you're going to publish just yet. in fact, explicitly tell yourself that you're Not going to publish anything yet. but start writing. to get a prompt, you can 1) go to random word generator, get a verb, and write your character doing that verb; 2) go to one of the myriad of prompt tumblrs, a few of my favorites i have linked here; 3) pick a line of dialogue from the show that sticks out in your mind and have it be the first line of dialogue for something completely different; 4) go over to tvtropes and hit random trope until you find something that inspires a fic. then, write it! focus on getting it finished. remember, you're not publishing it, so it doesn't matter how "good" it is. just that it's finished. then, once you feel confident that you have their voice down in your head, you can start writing stuff to be published. that takes ALL the pressure off your first few attempts!

study up on basic grammar: so the thing that's really going to set you apart from other authors at first glance is your grammar. do you know to vs too vs two? their vs they're vs there? effect vs affect? breath vs breathe? lose vs loose? do you put your punctuation in the correct place? do you have proper spacing for your paragraphs? do you change paragraphs for each speaker, or do you have multiple people speaking in the same paragraph? these are things that will grind at a reader's opinion of your skill, such that even if you have an amazing story, they will hit their tolerated limit and back out. the grammarly blog is a really good resource, and if you have a specific question (e.g. "how do i punctuate dialogue?" "what is the correct spacing for an em-dash?" "), you can just google it and get the answer. this will increase your skills—and thus your confidence—immensely.

learn some cool words: so, disclaimer, i used to read the dictionary when i was a kid. i don't recommend that. but what you should do is get dictionary.com word of the day in your email, and also just. go to a thesaurus and look up words. see what other words orbit the ones you know. the more words you know, the greater your toolbox in painting a picture for your readers. you can also achieve this by reading a lot, both inside and outside of the genre that you're looking to write, which i also recommend.

***give it time!***: i just turned 33, and i started writing when i was in kindergarten when i finished everything on the bookshelf and wanted something new to read. so it's been almost exactly thirty years that i've been writing. i have an english minor with an emphasis in creative writing. with a few exceptions when my wrist is unhappy with me, i write at least 500-ish words every day. i've participated in national novel writing month almost every year since 2008. i write a lot, and i've been writing for a very long time. everything that you see me post is the culmination of all of that. being creative is like a muscle; the more you do it, the more consistently you do it, the easier it gets and the more cool shit you can do. but it's really hard in the beginning. you don't start deadlifting 400 lbs, and you don't look at someone who is deadlifting 400 lbs and think wow why can't i do that?! i must just not be very good i should give up because i'm never going to be able to do that :( no!!! that person has spent years getting to that point. and, if you start now and work consistently, little by little, someday you'll deadlift 400 lbs and you'll be like. wow!! look at me!! i did that!! writing is the same thing. start now, allow yourself to be a beginner, enjoy being a beginner (because wow, how fun is it learning something new?!), and just work a little bit every day until you look up and see what you're capable of!!
