to give an update on that particular feeling and situation over here, i've been drawing more again, the pace just got adjusted, and i've kind of made my peace with this. doing a deep dive into older fandom bits also brought some sense back into my head... i actively reconnected with the things that made me love my blorbos in the first place again. which feels great. there is some lonliness to this because as current news about the game and fandom tendencies go still make me feel alienated. but i'd rather take this and do my own thing with the few people who also remember the good times than giving up on my boys or trying to bend myself into a different shape and draw sth that i actually don't want to for the sake of staying relevant.

it all actually boils down to "do what you want, draw what you want, write what you want, share if you want". because at the end of the day i make myself happy by just indulging into envisioning them and drawing unspoken interactions and their faces a hundered times from the same angle <3

First and foremost, they’re all absolute sweethearts to me.

There are my irl friends, such as @wretchedshade, @granolabird, @siriuscitrus and @scales-of-stardust or beta as I usually refer to them. I share the same braincell with these people.

Wretchedshade has been my best friend since we were ten, we’ve been there for each other for 11 years. I initially got her into anime, and then she got me into jojo, and every once in a while we cry about Doukyuusei again. She’s a great artist and is really good at writing sad shit, which is why I write sad shit; to have the glory of finally making her cry. She kicked cancer’s teeth in a few months ago so it’s about goddamn time something good come her way and I WILL fight someone on that.

Granolabird is the dm for my dnd campaign, and like I said, absolute sweetheart, chaotic adhd haver (actually like most of my friend group is like this lmao we’re all queer and neurodivergent). Either way, we used to share thoughts on each other’s original stories, and we still do sometimes but it’s mostly just sending each other tiktoks/reels like “this you” or “this your oc.”

Siriuscitrus is usually pretty hyper, but also tries to be v considerate of everyone’s feelings. If you said that the McDonald’s employee put pickles on your burger when you said no, they’d probably be the one to tell them. They’re also scarily good at vibechecking people and told me I give “future he/they vibes” and like a week later I said “fuck you’re right oh my god.”

You’ve probably seen me and beta’s interactions on here or in the ao3 comments. We enjoy our like playful rivalry/enemyship. I like to torment tease her and she usually gets me back pretty good, it’s all in good fun. It’s also really funny to me whenever we meet up, I tell myself “you are friends with them for reasons other than fic so do not make it about fic” and then we’ll spend literally hours talking about and brainstorming fic ideas. It just Happens.

I’m also gonna add @memory-mortis into here because while we’ve not met irl I’ve introduced him to my friend group. Yet another sweetheart, love her art style a lot, and she was one of the first comments I got on ginkgo trees to motivate me to keep going. I was kinda worried about bringing him into my friendgroup because like if I’m not overthinking I am not thinking At All. I was super relieved and happy that she like IMMEDIATELY fit in with everyone so :D

For some of my other close but only on tumblr/ao3/outside my general friendgroup mutuals! (There are too many so I’m sorry if you’re not here it’s mostly people I interact with more regularly ;-;)

@crimson-ashes who I have occasionally with absolute love called my “askbox gremlin” because they live in my inbox. I need to stress this is affectionate because genuinely, I love opening tumblr and seeing I’ve got asks from them. They gotta stop posting Astarion though because I’m feeling So Tempted to play BG but I know my laptop would kill itself (joking).

@crystalflygeo and I know I’ve called everyone sweethearts but genuinely, she’s probably one of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of talking to. She’s really wholesome (unlike her writing which is never gonna be a complaint in my book, good soup) and super supportive of other people.

@madamemachikonew who’s super polite and really kind. She’s also really creative/smart when it comes to referencing real world art and philosophy in her writing and integrating it into her own worldbuilding. I would have never thought to have done that, and it makes her writing very unique!

We don’t interact as much but @probably-doesnt-exist, @ethve, @euniveve and @ainescribe are such talented artists and super sweet, have literally made me screech and cackle with utter joy whenever they draw the characters from ginkgo trees. I rotate through which art becomes my phone’s lock/home screens.

Thanks again to Nunki and Nov so much for pulling me out of art block 😭💕 I had so much fun drawing all of this and experimenting with poses and colors, etc. that I wouldn't have tried before this!! i'm so sorry this took like 2 months to finish there was lots of stuff going on but I finally finished it and i'm very happy how it all turned out. I made this post just to go through my thought process LMAO

DAY 1: Early SMP Days

This one was inspired by the "he asked for no pickles" meme and how in an early dsmp stream c!dream (in full enchanted netherite armor) asks c!george (half iron/diamond armor) to protect him with a crossbow while they go to l'manburg

At first this one was gonna be a quick drawing but then i got too invested into drawing the armor that it got out of hand and suddenly i had spent 2 days on that 💀

Also all the other drawings were gonna be like this one, a bit simple than what i usually do, but i got too invested x2 and ended up rendering(?) more the rest of drawings

DAY 2: Objects of Affection

THE SHIELD DEMONS GOT ME 👹👹👹👹 also c!gnf keeps the mask even though it's a bit broken :3

C!gnf is a bit dirty because he doesn't shower, also he sleeps on the grass sometimes, he doesn't get sunburnt because XD protects him from that, also c!sapnap is the one that finds him like that and brings him back to kinoko

I think this is the drawing with most layers only because it was for setting the lighting

This one set the bar of how many details can i put on the next drawings haha got too silly and flew too close to the sun

DAY 3: Worship/Devotion

Inspired by religious imagery in renaissance paintings, they're very pretty and detailed and ohgggg i thought that aesthetic fit XDNF's dynamic ^_^

When I finished the drawing i added a canvas texture so it looked like the mentioned paintings' texture

The pose was so complicated but thankfully i hid all the weird anatomy under capes and hair(?) 🤭 and I have a mirror right next to my computer so i used myself as reference for the hands

The halo around c!gnf's head could be a reference to the headcanon of georgeeeHD existing and being another dsmp deity or also hinting at george's "destroying the smp" stream and how powerful and crazy insane he is!!! also the reflection of XD's halos on his eyes, they worship each other i think, xdnf makes my tummy hurt /pos

DAY 4: Visions/Dreams

Inspired by my weirdcore demons :3 i love that aesthetic so much

I did the error pop up on this custom generator!!

Saved a lot of time by making c!dream faceless since it would be covered by the pop up anyway, but it can also be symbolism for c!gnf not remembering his face or something crazy

I again used myself as reference for the hands i'm so cool and epic

Also I used a tutorial on how to make the vhs effect/chromatic aberration on paint tool sai and added grainy texture on the background for more spice :3

DAY 5: Reunion/Post-Nuke

I reused an old sketch of c!dnf side profile for this one, hashtag work smart not hard 😎 except i polished it and changed some stuff and now it looks way better than the old version

The concept was happy reunion, they're happy to see each other!! c!dnf good ending, i say in tears.

DAY 6: Roleswap

My demons..... my beloved rs au..... the posts i made some while ago were based on this drawing, i have a tag on my blog now for that au

RS!dnf wear matching chains!! also the concept for this drawing was that someone interrupted their make out session :3

Symbolism moment!! I like to draw characters with nail polish of the color it represents them, in this case green for dream and blue for george, but for this au, their colors are swapped: green for george and blue for dream, it symbolizes how their roles (king/knight) on that story are different and don't match with the canon. storywise, they're so in love they wanted to keep each other on themselves somehow so they exchanged nail polish colors

DAY 7: CC Roleplay/Cosplay

Sisyphus would be proud of me (<- almost gave up before drawing this), unironically i got demotivated when i finished day 6 so i took a break and then i went insane with this one

The concept was c!dnfies wearing cc!dnf outfits, dream specifically has so many outfit options but I ended up choosing the famous "dteam in madrid" outfit plus a cat beanie, and I couldn't find a fortnite jesus poster for george's shirt so i just found a silly cat pic and yeah ^_^

Hello, I'm here for the matchups!

Im 5"1 - 5"2, short black hair, brown eyes, and I'm basically fem representing (nonbinary). I have a little bit of chub but I hate it when people comment on it, since its something I have a sensitive spot on. Other than my appearance, I'm basically a victim of rbf (resting bitch face) syndrome and drive people away from it, alongside with looking scary appearance wise.

Despite this, I'm a kind person and very empathetic to those that I meet and am close to. I am loyal to my friends to a fault and if someone harms them, I end up standing by them in their stead to protect them. Although I have a bad temper and am extremely stubborn, which could lead to my misfortune at times when the situation calls for it.

I'm an Aries, and I enjoy a lot of hobbies— mostly writing, drawing, and even playing horror games! I have a knack with old horror RPG games because they are fun to solve with, even if I do get a little scared at times when it gets intense. I also enjoy VNs, my favorite being horror ones than romance (especially those with mysteries).

In my friend group, I'm the therapist friend and I accept that role wholeheartedly. I tend to be the one to give people advice, hear them out, and comfort them when needed be. Of course, it does lead to me burning out, but I shrug it off because it's something I can do on my own.

My favorites are definitely eating sweets, and being with my companions. I enjoy a good mystery as well, even if it wracks my brain. I don't enjoy riddles because I'm... Not too big brained for it (oops), and I don't enjoy blaming others for their mistakes.

hello, i was wondering if i could get a creepypasta matchup? Sorry for sending another when you’ve already got a few, so you don’t have to answer this.

I use he and it pronouns, I stim openly a lot and think I might have haphephobia.

I tend to be pretty distant or in-my-own-head in everyday life. I’ll often get really attached to specific people or things. my interests jump around a lot, but generally, I always like writing and video games, particularly slightly old RPGs. including, the Persona series, especially persona 3 as of now, plus citizen sleeper. I like reading comics and manga (I’m a bit of a kid in personality honestly), doodle, and listen to music a lot. I have fun with flashy characters, theatrical themes and I could ramble for a long time about some of mine.

I don’t like certain tastes, like orange, I’m kinda picky. I can get big mood swings and feel really shitty and force myself to find an outlet, like drawing on my arms, and then feel super hopeful later in the day. Like I said, I get really fixated on stuff quickly, so I’ll get really stuck on one person sometimes. Ironically, my love languages are physical touch (i get really clingy on some occasions) and secondarily gift giving.

I can accidentally say or show people really extreme things, as I can tell they're severe, just not what kind of effect saying that will have. so, people who I have to tone down what I say to in that regard, I guess, I don't get on well with. (sorry if that's weird to say...)

I'm sorry for yelling, but it's very frustrating when you don't want to even consider it possible for things from most of the drawings I like to be canon.

Fine. Let's go over this again. One, "Varian invented a laser sword". I said that if Varian could figure it out, then he would totally make a laser sword, but it was unlikely because of the technology. You wanted me to talk more about that, so I talked about how even in the 2000s, we haven't figured out laser swords so it was highly unlikely he'd figure it out in the 1840s. The technology for lasers didn't exist yet, especially in the form of weaponry! Robots that run on music boxes (and can't be shut down, apparently, hope he figured out a way to do that) is a LOT more workable to that era! Two, "Varian accidentally drinks poison because he stores his own drinks in the same vessels. He did that so often that he's immune against it by now". You seriously think that Varian is stupid enough to store his poison with, say, his energy boost serums? You think he's THAT stupid? Just because he accidentally used a bath bomb instead of a bubble bomb, it doesn't mean he's stupid enough to drink poison by accident! Also, funny enough, HE LABELED IT IN THAT PICTURE. So, no, that's a stupid headcanon. All it tells me is that you think Varian is a fucking idiot.

Three, "Brock decided to steal Hugo's style" HOW?! The only thing they have in common is GLASSES! He didn't do the hairstyle, the outfit, anything! Just the glasses! I guess he stole Calliope's style, too! And MINE! Because GLASSES! He MAYBE has dyed, blonde hair, but we can't tell!

Four, "Eugene looks great with a beard". Denied, rejected, he doesn't look like Eugene. Who the fuck is that?

Five, "Moon Varian is canon to me". It's canon to me, too, I never said it wasn't. What I said is that Cassandra's hairstripe in her concept had nothing to do with him because none of them even matched up with his stripe.

Six, "The Pickled Chameleon is an awesome name for a pub". It is! But, they wouldn't change the name of the Snuggly Duckling because of what it means to Rapunzel and so many others. They can make a new pub.

Seven, "Varian IS better at The Smolder than Eugene." I never said one way or the other. I said that Eugene was overreacting to it to encourage him either way and was having fun with it. The smolder isn't intended to make people cringe away, he was being silly.

You're the one that reacted badly to my responses. I think your headcanons are fine, but I don't agree with most of them.

daughter of: pickles & tony dimarco

born relatively early in the career of S’n’B, and the result of tony and pickles messing around...a lot. pickles was obviously VERY freaked out when he realized he was pregnant, but too afraid to abort, and both he and tony got pretty soft when it came to thinking of having a child. she was a healthy home-birth, and born in tomahawk, at pickles parents’ house. she doesn’t really talk to that side of the family much, though. she spent her formative years being raised by tony’s mother, a successful fashion designer, but was able to see both her parents during relatively frequent visits. she’s not really widely known about, and she’s fine with that.

by the beginning of the show, she’s living in brooklyn with her grandma, and works at a record store. she’s very chill and relatively well-adjusted, and on good terms with her parents.

over the course of the series, i think she would prove to be a fun little background character, and possibly a love interest for toki? since she’s only about 3-4 years younger than him in my calculations. also seeing pickles be a protective dad (in a mostly non-toxic, just kinda whiny way).

her likes include: vintage clothes, collecting records, jazz & blues music, drawing, writing, 80s and 90s cartoons (especially jem), pineapple pizza, her pet rats

child of: nathan explosion & magnus hammersmith

born about a year prior to magnus’ firing from dethklok. lazar’s birth only made magnus’ behavior more erratic, and raised tensions. with another mouth to feed, magnus was pushing their record writing & recording harder than ever, all while struggling with postpartum depression. his existence was part of why nathan hesitated in firing magnus in the first place, beyond his obvious musical talent.

much like nathan, he was nonverbal until the age of 5--though he is often still nonverbal, and communicates almost exclusively in sign language. he is autistic & easily overstimulated, needing a very specific diet and clothing. he also rarely makes eye contact. he was raised mostly by magnus after his firing, and they were able to stay afloat thanks to nathan’s relatively generous child support. he gets along with and is very close with magnus, who is very good at reading his needs and gets his off-beat sense of humor.

by the start of the show, lazar is only about 9 years old. he visits with nathan occasionally, though he doesn’t have a very high opinion of him. thanks to how well-adjusted nathan’s own home life is, he doesn’t usually seem to mind, and does make an effort to connect when he can.

during the events of doomstar, a ~15 year old lazar is living with one of his aunts--magnus’ sister--and doesn’t know much about the revengencers or the MMA.

his middle name was originally the name of magnus’ maternal grandmother, but nathan had it changed to cannon before his birth certificate was finalized because it sounded “cooler”

Hello Erelin! I’m a little tired but alright. How are you? 

I love to draw and do artsy stuff, I like to read and watch movies, I like playing video games and recently got into collecting Pokemon cards again because nostalgia lol. 

I’d recommend The Walking Dead, but wouldn’t be upset with someone if they didn’t watch it all the way through. The earlier seasons were so good and had so much potential! I also like American Horror Story (which I know is a bit much for some people), Hannibal was pretty good too! OH if you’ve got Netflix, Black Summer was super great! I haven’t watched the second season yet, but the first season was *chef’s kiss*. It’s a zombie show so if that’s not your thing, forget I suggested it! I also like competition shows too. I love me a good Food Network show, Masterchef, Hell’s Kitchen, and I really loved Face Off (SyFy) and wish it would come back. Also a lot of things on Investigation Discovery. I feel like I could go on for hours about this. XD 

I like a lot of different foods but pizza is always a safe bet. Potatoes too, in almost any form. Not a fan of hash browns or tater tots though. Pickles too!

I slept alright last night! Woke up a few times but it was decent!

I have tried octopus and it’s not as gross as I was expecting it to be! 

I’m not terribly picky with desserts but there are some flavors I don’t like if that makes sense? Like I enjoy pies but not pecan, you know? If I had to pick one though I’d probably say rice pudding or flan. Not a big fan of the textures.

In Which Lila Learns about Skyrim

Sorry for taking a bit with this chapter. It isn’t even very long. But I was in the hospital recovering from surgery. We’re coming up close to the end of the story, but there’s maybe two more chapters after this. 

(Psst this chapter has hints to the next story I’ll publish after this one...as long as my ideas don’t change lol)

Lila was fired. It was immediate when they found out. Everyone sat in class, the lecture normal and lulling everyone into a soft state of sedation. 

Then Lila screamed. The scream was the worst thing Marinette had ever heard. Immediately, everyone turned to look at her in horror. 

She started bawling. Huge gasping sobs of someone who’d been shot. 

“Lila?!” Miss Bustier gasped in shock and concern. “Are you okay?!” 

“I’m so sorry, Miss Bustier!” She wailed. “I just wanted to peek at my email and—and—Mr. Agreste fired me!” 

Plagg had to bite his tongue. He knew she was going to twist this somehow, but her sobbing was so beautiful to see. 

“Oh Lila, I’m so sorry. It hurts a lot to lose a job. Especially when they don’t tell you to your face. That’s no fair.” 

“He-he-he said that Marinette told him that I was making Adrien uncomfortable! She got me fired!” 

Gasps, all around. 

“What?!” Barked Marinette. “I had nothing to do with this!” Not exactly the truth...

“But that’s what Mr. Agreste said!” 

Plagg stood, placing his foot on the seat, the spurs on his cowboy boots ringing with the motion. He put his cowboy hat back on (since Mrs. Bustier had asked him to remove it for violating dress code...again.) “well now. Sounds like we got ourselves in a gosh darn pickle.” 

Nino snorted. 

“Adrien! You never said I made you uncomfortable! Marinette must have lied to your father!” 

He flicked the rim of his hat. “Now slow your roll there, Buckeroo. I know my old man, and even if Marinette was mentioned in his email, it’s likely that he just wanted to place the blame on someone else.” 

Yes, throw the old man under the bus. He still deserves it, even with whole hearted apologies. 

“But you know, I do feel awfully bad for you, Lila. Losing yer job and all. How’s about I make it up to ya? I’ll come sit by you for a while. Keep ya company and cheer you up. Cain’t have gettin’ all akumatized up in here, you reckon?” 

Not that Lila getting akumatized was even a concern anymore. But the world wouldn’t know about Hawkmoth’s surrender until Emilie’s fate was resolved. Adrien’s family deserved that much at least. 

“Oh Adrien!” Lila cried. “You really are such a wonderful friend. But I couldn’t bear to make you move on my behalf. You need to focus on your work.” 

“A cowboy needs to be exceptional at multitasking. That is, as long as Mrs. Brassiere is okay with it.” 

Miss Bustier pinched the bridge of her nose. Usually, she was a very calm and level-headed teacher, compassionate and understanding. But Adrien’s antics were stressing her out massively. “Yes, Adrien, I suppose it’s fine if you move to—what did you call me?”

“Much obliged, Madam. If’en you’ll excuse me...” 

Marinette watched with fascination as Plagg gathered up his materials and moved to the back of the class to sit next to Lila. Then she glanced in her purse, where Tikki and Adrien were hanging out. They both shrugged. 

Due to the retirement of Hawkmoth, Adrien was now allowed to spend time away from the Miraculous without consequence. Plagg assured him that once the final condition was met, no matter where he was, his soul would return to his body. 

So he spent the school day with Tikki, and the evenings with Marinette. It was a sweet deal, and it really gave Adrien the time to bond with her without school or akumas in the way. 

He had even spent the night with her the night before, curled up next to her on her pillow, and purring every time Marinette’s hand glanced his fur. 

Nino leaned back in his seat. “Do you know what he’s up to this time?” 

“No idea...but I am eager to see where this goes.” 

Nino shook his head with a shrug. Two nights ago, when Plagg was arrested, Nino gathered all the money in his savings and went down to the jail to bail him out. 

Only to find out he was already let go. 

So he went back home, and called Adrien’s phone relentlessly, hoping for an answer. 

Finally, in the wee hours of the morning, Chat Noir returned and explained that he was going home now, thanks for having him, he had to watch the mansion because his sort of repentant father was going to Tibet to resurrect his dead wife. 

Nino gave up on logic and understanding, and just made sure Plagg had everything he had brought. 

Now he would wait until the whole situation blew over, and hopefully Adrien himself, in his own body, would explain it all to him. Plagg seemed to oversimplify everything to the point it became vague. 

Marinette, on the other hand, was very curious to see where this was all going. After all, Adrien’s previous tactic of being nice to Lila hadn’t worked. So what was Plagg hoping to gain from the same approach?

Wrassle her with his randomly appointed cowboy charm? 

In science, two classes later, Plagg had elected to sit next to Lila still, despite her protests. 

Marinette was close enough now to hear what Plagg’s master plan was. 

“So there’s like several types of Mer, right? But not like mermaids. This has nothing to do with mermaids. These are mostly elves, but not all. So there’s Dunmer, right? Those are dark elves. And Bosmer, wood elves, and Altmer, high elves. The Falmer are snow elves, but they’re all twisted and savage, because of the Dwemer, which are dwarves!” 

Marinette snorted a bit too loudly, drawing attention from the teacher. 

“Miss Dupain-Cheng, is something funny?” 

“No ma’am, I had a tickle in my sinuses.” 

“Ah, I see. Anyways, as I was saying...” 

Lila always sat in the back of the class, despite her many alleged disabilities. This was probably to get away with the fact that she rarely paid attention during class. 

It was the ideal place for Plagg to harass her and not get caught. 

Poetry in motion. 

“So you get to pick what race you want to be, but you’re always the Dragonborn. Despite the description, you don’t look any different. So a Dragonborn is someone that can devour the souls of dragons so they don’t get resurrected by Alduin. Let me back up, Alduin is an evil dragon that used to rule the world, and he’s resurrecting dragons so he can take over. There’s another dragon though, named Paarthanax, and he’s a good guy. He helps out the Tongues on the Throat of the World. Or the greybeards. Some call them Tongues, but in the game they’re called Graybeards. And the tongues are the monks that teach you to shout. And different shouts teach you different things, right? The dragonborn and the tongues are the only ones that are supposed to know how to shout, but there’s this other dude named Ulfric Stormcloak, and he knows Unrelenting Force, that’s the Fus Ro Da shout I was talking about earlier? He used it to kill high king Torygg to start a war. Oh yeah, so there’s nine holds with Jarls, right—“ 

The day ended, and Lila stood quickly. “Well Adrien, thank you so much for keeping me company today. I’m feeling a lot better. You can move back up to your old spot tomorrow.” 

“Well, you shore are welcome, Pardner. But sittin here in the back has been mighty nice. I think I’ll stay! You don’t mind, do ya? It’s awfully fun to have you as company!” 

Lila’s eye twitched, but she was aware that most of the class was watching them. “Yeah. That’d be...great.” 

“Darn tootin’! Well, you look like you’re in a rush, don’t want to hold you up!” 

“See you tomorrow!” She chirped, before hurrying from the room. As she passed Marinette, a dark look came over her face. The look of someone seething with rage and hatred, but trying to hide it. 

Marinette would have been scared, if Lila hadn’t been dealing with Plagg instead. 

Marinette went home, Tikki and Adrien talking to her from her collar. 

“I don’t know. Plagg was successful with the first two tasks, but I don’t know how he’s going to turn Lila over to the good side.” Marinette mused. 

“I don’t know if he has to. The condition is to just get her to leave me alone. He said he was doing some Pavlovian Jedi mind trick on her.” 

“Well, I sure hope it works. Speaking of, where is Plagg?” 

Adrien’s ears flicked. “He left pretty suddenly after class. I didn’t see him go. Hopefully, he went back to the mansion.” 

“Do you want me to call him?” 

“No, I trust him. He’s got things under control.” 

“Glad to hear it! Ready for snack time?” 

“Oh heck yes!”

Lila had to actively stop herself from stomping all the way home. Frustration rolled off of her in waves, and she mildly wondered why she hadn’t been akumatized yet. 

Adrien Agreste was the most annoying person she had ever met. And oblivious too! He never picked up on any of her subtle hints to get him to shut up! She really didn’t want to be rude, because his friendship looked great on her, but wow. No wonder he didn’t have any friends. No wonder Gabriel was so protective of him. If he wasn’t cute...his personality was like a wet sock. 

And he was weird. Weird mannerisms, weird speech pattern, just weird. Hopefully she could either get used to it, or Adrien would get a clue to stop being so obnoxious. 

Finally, she reached her apartment. 

“Home mom!” She called. 

There was laughter in the kitchen. Her mother had a guest. While not uncommon, there was just a hint of dread that hung in the air. 

Lila walked to the kitchen, only to see Adrien sitting at the table, talking to her mother! How?! How did he beat her here?! How did he know where she lived?! What the hell was he doing?!

“Adrien?” Lila gawked. 

He rubbed his head awkwardly. “Sorry for popping in uninvited. I just...I was worried about you! You’ve been akumatized twice, and I didn’t want it to happen again since you were fired.” 

Lila’s face paled as her mother gave her a stern look. 

“I think you’ve got some explaining to do, Missy. I didn’t know you were modeling. And you never told me about being akumatized!” 

Adrien gasped. “Oh no! She didn’t tell you? I’m so sorry! I didn’t know that was a secret! I won’t say anymore!” 

“Any more?” Mrs. Rossi asked. “There’s more?” 

“Adrien.” Lila bit, in warning. 

“Well...I mean, you knew she was meeting with my father right? Something about being his muse?” 

Mrs. Rossi looked horrified. “What! You were talking to a grown adult man?! Were these visits supervised?!” 

Lila opened her mouth to answer, but Plagg beat her to it. “I don’t think so. Father is a very private person.” 

“Lila Giselle Rossi! You are sooo grounded! No offense to your father, Adrien, but meeting up with an adult man, unsupervised? And to what, be his muse? What does that even mean? It sounds gross!” 

“I swear nothing happened! He just wanted my opinion-”

“On what? What reason would he have to ask a 14 year old’s opinion?”

Plagg winced and looked at Lila. “I’m so sorry, Lila. I came here to help, but...” 

Lila shook with rage. Her mother was a complete pushover and believed everything she said. Now Adrien had sewn the seeds of distrust in her and she wouldn’t get away with any white lies ever again. 

“You’re dead,” She mouthed at Plagg. 

“Adrien, thank you for coming here and telling me all of this. I’m very grateful. But I think it’s best if you head home now. Lila has some chores to do.” 

“I understand, Madam Rossi. Again, I’m really sorry...I just wanted to help.” 

“Oh don’t worry, you did. This is for Lila’s own good.” 

He sheepishly looked to her. “See you tomorrow?” 

Her eye twitched. “Yeah.” 

And Plagg swiftly walked from the apartment, concealing his evil laughter until he got to the door.

The next day at school, Marinette, along with Tikki and Adrien in her bag, arrived at school just a few minutes before the bell rang. 

Plagg was sitting at the front of the room, wearing a Pikachu onesie, and looking absolutely devastated. Nino sat next to him and had a hand over his face, doing his best to conceal whatever emotion he had. 

Everyone else in the room was avoiding them like they had the plague. 

Alya spotted her and came quickly, looping an arm through hers and escorting them out into the hall. “Girl, big news. I know you love Adrien, so this is going to be a blow. But here’s the thing...Lila told us this morning that Adrien came to her house yesterday and told her mom about her modeling job. Apparently, her mom didn’t want her working, and got upset that Lila lied. Adrien’s been insisting that it wasn’t on purpose, but everyone is kind of pissed at him anyway.” 

Marinette said nothing, but bit her lip. She knew that this absolutely was on purpose. 

“I’ll leave your actions up to you, but people are pretty mad at Adrien. Just letting you know.” 

“Who’s side are you taking?” 

Alya scoffed. “None. I’m staying out of this. Both people are in the right. Obviously Sunshine just wanted to prevent her from being akumatized. He was with her all day yesterday. It’s admirable, really.” 

“It is.” Marinette said with a smile. Though she was smiling for a completely different reason. There were no akumatizations anymore. Everyone was safe now. 

“We better get back in there, class will start soon.” 

So they returned. Miss Bustier was in, and ready to begin the lesson. 

Then Plagg raised his hand. 

“Yes Adrien?” 

“Before we start class, I want to say something.” 

“Go ahead, Adrien. The floor is yours.” 

He stood, and looked to Lila in the back of the room. “Lila, I know I apologized yesterday, but I’m really really sorry about outing you to your mom. I had no idea she didn’t know about your rendezvous with my father. I was just really scared that you were going to become akumatized, and I didn’t want that to happen. My friends are all important to me, and losing you would be like ripping out a piece of my heart. Could you ever forgive me?”

After many breathless minutes, Lila smiled slightly. “I understand, Adrien. Of course you’re still my friend. I treasure you too! I’m sorry I got so mad.” 

“Hugs?” Plagg raised his arms. 

Lila could pretend to be happy and calm, but the paling of her skin could not be hidden. “Hugs!” 

Plagg brought her in for a squeeze, and the class ‘aww’ed at their make up. 

Except Nino, who let out the tiniest snort. 

Marinette flicked open her purse to look at Adrien. He mimed a gagging gesture back. 

And then Plagg took those last couple steps and joined Lila on her bench. No one tried to stop him. No one spoke up and said, “hey, maybe you should give her some space anyway.” 

They just all let poor, socially awkward Adrien push boundaries and take his seat. Because he had apologized so earnestly for trying to help. And she had forgiven him. So everything was fine now.

As the lesson started, Marinette paid attention to the teacher. But occasionally, she’d hear the faintest whispers of Adrien’s voice (Plagg’s voice now).

I'm gonna start with nct 127 because when I was reading your ask the first person that actually came to mind out the nct and skz members was johnny! I truly think y'all would be SO good together like ? we already know that johnny is pretty spontaneous and has a lot of interests in common with you already, but he's also so versatile and I think his love of exploring new things is something that would make him a good fit for you. I also don't think he would really care that you were born in 2000. I mean one of his best friends (mark) was born in '99 so if anything he'd probably just be more protective than if you were the same age or older than him.

something about you that I think is more specifically compatible with johnny is your aspirations! as far as I know, johnny loves animals, and in addition to that I think he adores people who have big dreams and are selfless in the way that you seem to be. johnny is an optimist and your desire to help animals, help people, and just overall put more good in the world would be very important to him

I personally can see johnny with anyone no matter their style, but I do think he has a lil soft spot for people who dress a little more casual/masculine. I mean obv he also loves a good red dress or deep v... but u know what I mean. he wants to you feel comfortable in what you're wearing as well as feel comfortable around him, so I think being casually dressed around him might make him feel like you trust him :) also if your skater style matches his that means you can share clothes :)))

for nct dream I think I'm gonna ship you with haechan

it's funny that I'm shipped you with johnny and then haechan bc I feel like they're so different, but I'm still gonna do it ahhshchdjs

first of all, y'all would be chaotic as hell with those gemini and aries suns idc idc. I think one of the most compatible things between you two is your love of activities and longing for adventure. since you're both still really young and haechan is also more extroverted there would probably be endless things to explore together. however, as much of an extrovert as haechan is he is also extremely cuddly, and since he's a # gamer boy I also don't think he'd have a problem with hanging out inside as well on a rainy day

haechan for sure loves animals, but he especially loves things that are cute in general. an animal shelter would definitely be something he would support and spend a lot of time at if he had the option to do so. additionally, haechan is probably one of the most passionate workers I've ever seen, all while being very positive and personable. he knows how it feels to work hard to achieve your goals and he knows how happy achieving those goals can make a person, so I think he's another member that would admire you following your dreams no matter what they are. he works pretty much constantly, so if you're also working hard for long periods of time he would also probably be good at cheering up your mood and would be able to give you advice on how to make sure you don't get burnt out

as far as style, I oddly feel like haechan might think tomboyish fashion is super cute ? like he really seems like the type to say you can borrow his clothes and then proceed to call you cute and tease the hell out of you for wearing his clothes. tis' a vicious cycle

due to haechans general attitude and disposition, he seems like a really easy person to talk to. he's extroverted in the way that he may act a little over the top to not make people uncomfortable, but instead to try and make people realize he is approachable and it's okay to joke around. definitely an mvp in the realm of sarcastic banter, and definitely gives off bear vibes mhm

this might be surprising idk, but I'm gonna ship you with winwin!

going back to your hobbies and adventurous side, I think winwin would maybe want you to teach him things ya know? if I'm remembering correctly he's said that he's learned a lot over the years and become more outgoing because of his fellow members, so I think he appreciates relationships where he feels that he can explore things comfortably beside someone he trusts.

obviously he has no problem with animals, and as with the other nct members he admires the drive people show when they follow their dreams. the thing I think does differ with winwin though compared to the others, is that it's almost just the logical path in his head? like other than for fear, why would you not aspire to do more/achieve great things? I mean this man has has dance training, become an idol, and is acting more and more, so working hard and having goals seems to me like something that comes somewhat naturally to him

I think winwins favorite thing about you having a tomboy style would be that y'all can match <3 he may not act super mushy under there, but I would bet that this scorpio sun has some soft spots for being a matching couple (in a cool yet casual way)

winwin obviously has natural charm, considering literally everyone in nct and more is in love with him. winwin has that like underlying smooth sense of sarcasm I think, and he says things with such a pretty smiling face that his clap backs can go unnoticed. winwin is indeed smart, but I think his real strength in this area is his true willingness to learn as well

winwin would definitely be down to do dumb shit with you, especially if either of you have been cooped up for days bc of rain or what have you. he remembers his days in quarantine... never again

some concepts that came to mind: you cooking dinner and him baking for dessert, him teaching you dances or vice versa, him asking you to do his makeup whenever you get a new product/whenever he feels like it, and other things like that. obv felix also loves to cuddle (on any day, but on rainy days especially)

there's so many cute pictures of felix with animals, and I guarantee with an animal shelter you would have a million more. felix is the biggest softy, and his eyes would probably go all sparkly at the sight of animals and at the sight of you achieving your dreams (making myself cry)

no matter what you wear felix would probably be the type to say "ooo you look cute today!" every single day. but when you dress up now that's when the deep voice comes out okay felixxx

I also have noted in the past that minho has dragged jisung out to do things with him sometimes, so I wouldn't say he's a 100% homebody either. he knows there's a time for going out snd a time for staying in, and can tell the difference between them well.

I honestly don't think minho cares that much about what you wear as long as you take care of yourself. he probably thinks people look good in most things or is very neutral about it if I'm being honest, so whether or not you have a more tomboy style or not isn't much of a bother to him because he just wants you to be comfortable! also confidence is attractive so if you're feeling good he's feeling good

lee minho is what I would consider a perfect mixture between logical and weird. he has that intelligence and common sense to where he is considered smart, but also is so mf weird, or should I say, logical on another level. for example, when he screams for "no reason", he says his reasoning is that he just felt like it. I mean when u put it like that, I would say that is in a unique way pretty logical, even if a lot of other people might see it as weird. he also definitely has charisma I mean just looking at him I think it's visible. also I have to include that god he has one of the prettiest noses I swear

Hi, Dawn. I've wondered how you keep track of so many characters? You don't have to answer this publicly since it's not really about the comic only.

Well hi, Furby! Sorry I haven't come around to answering this sooner, but I absolutely will answer it publicly, as it is a fine and noble question!

In case you weren't here last time, here's the cast of the first Dethkomic. Left to right: Nita, Skwisgaar, Ange, Nix, Jason, Glennda, Eden, Pickles, Badger, Angelique, Jenna, Teja, Lenya, Toki, Charles, Murderface, Sparkles, Janet, Nathan, #216, Caj. I did that mental exercise just to see if I could remember each one. Once again, this was a story/art I did in my 20′s, so I am a bit rusty. However -- it’s funny how things can stay with you, despite years and years of time passing since the last time you worked with any of it. That said, most of these characters aren’t mine...

...they belong to other artists and fic writers of the time, many of whom became dear friends of mine I still keep in touch with, today. For that reason, I got to know each of them in their own stories, in their own ways. That made it easier to know them. That made it easier to remember them fifteen years on. This is why, when working with your own characters, I recommend writing drabbles, fiction, comics -- whatever, as “thumbnails” to test the waters. You don’t have to share this work, and in fact, you might not like a lot of them so you won’t want to. Just a few sentences will do. See how the tone fits the character. If it leaves a bad taste in your mouth (or a nice taste that still somehow doesn’t fit), toss it. Do another one. Just keep writing. Share with others when you can. Someone might come along and write/draw something with your characters (and so many wonderful people have done this for me over the years and I can’t thank them enough for giving their time to give my stuff a nod) and it might expand your own vision of them. In this way, we all can share a little chess game. A roleplay with everyone reading and writing their own things. A little universe.  Support your fellow creators and care about what they create. You will care more deeply about what you create, and you will want to write about each one you’ve come to meet, just as fervently as your favorites. You can do this when you have to write for someone else’s creations on a professional capacity, too -- but you should do this especially if it’s just for fun. Else, why are you doing it?
