I’ve been trying to figure out what I hate about the people who want souls games to be easier, and with the latest Lies of P directors announcement I think I’ve figured it out. It’s whataboutism all over again!

So many people can’t conceptualise something isn’t tailored to them, and so they’re like but what about the people who aren’t good at the game 🥺 and they’re so loud the devs feel like they need to bend over backwards to cater to them. What about those people? Like, genuinely. These games take work! The whole point of souls and soulslikes is the reward of overcoming challenges. You earned that win. Personally, it took me genuine months to learn my first souls game (elden ring), and seeing people want that easy win without earning it or putting in the work that those sort of games require feels kinda awful ngl. Not every game has to be for you! And if you truly want to play it so bad, put in the work like everyone else. Otherwise, just watch someone else play it.

Now, obviously I’m not saying accessibility wouldn’t be cool. Like a pause ability or maybe an option to make parry timings more noticeable for people with eye problems, I’d be all for that. But less challenging doesn’t = more accessible. Idk. Just my two cents.

15% of the time i spend on Dark Souls 3 is me running from enemies or cheesing them until i feel comfortable taking a hit while fighting knowong it won't one shot me.

The other 85% is me falling off ledges, cliffs,top of ladders, bridges, walls, roofs........................

It's kinda fun. Mostly to other people that see me fall off the same spot for the 17283949474th time because i keep dying and running back and forth between the mobs, bosses and bonfires.

Even though this has sunk in for so long, but I just want to say that I don’t feel trusted with the game’s narrative/narrator simply because: 

P, the puppet who wanted to become a real boy  What do you mean by “wanted” but not “want”? Also, there is no direct quote from the protagonist ? 

Geppetto’s quote has no “ “, as if it is rather a description or narrative line 

Double “ “? It’s as if someone is re-quoting someone’s direct quote?????
