Speaking of book recommendations, I just finished reading "Annapolis Autumn: Life, Death, And Literature At The U.S. Naval Academy" by Bruce E. Fleming (he was/is a teacher at the Acedemy) and I thought it was interesting. It gives a glimpse at some workings of the academy but also what is like to be a civilian in a military environment specially when one doesn't exactly drink from the same kool aid (hope that's how the expression works, I'm not American)
i will look into it!! But now i get nervous reading about the usna because i don’t wanna know how inaccurate my portrayal of it is. Lmfao. Posting for the rec

HIIIII @marquisev first of all I'm so sorry for the late return!
And how are you? I hope you are well! And I heard that school is back in session and if you are still studying I wish you a good school year!
The Prince and the Spy
This episode was simply amazing I loved the way Serenity and Constantine's relationship was written Even I don't think I could write them that accurately Your description of the scenes and the writing of the dialogues are excellent. Also the description in the episode was very nice. And  Serenity's interpretation of the overlord meeting from her perspective, where she expressed her opinions about Alastor and how she found it strange that his act had changed so much, was also very well written. And I was really glad that we got a little glimpse of Hürrem. In one word it was great
—----------
Assistant and detective
YIPPE MORE HÜRREM AAAA!!!!
Hurrem's dialogues are really fun to read.I've already warmed up to his personality.Hürrem has self-confidence and wants to achieve the glory that lies before her.Even though she is a little nervous on this path, she is someone who does not let herself be crushed and chooses her words well in a conversation.
I really liked the writing of the dialogues. And my god, you really write and describe Constantine wonderfully, every move and every speech is written wonderfully, it's just perfect!!He has an extremely calm demeanor, speaks with care and never tries to crush Hürrem, he shows her kindness and respect.
The part where Hurrem wanders around hell looking for the meeting point was nice, and her little dialogue with Gio already gives a nice preview of their dynamic!
-
It's really fun to read about Gio and Hurrem's relationship, they have a really great dynamic.I really liked the jokes in between, it makes the reader warm up to the characters quickly.its like A spin-off series like Helluva Boss , although the main series is more story-oriented, here we get to know Hell much better thanks to the characters.Seriously great write up
And I think that the duties of the two are well explained in the chapter and Hurrem's situation as Goetia is also well touched upon. You captured that serious and playful vibe perfectly. And I really liked Gio's inner thoughts too.In general, the way you wrote him is great. The Judy and Nick vibe between Hurrem is very nice!!
*It's so cute how Hürrem makes parrot sounds when
she gets angry!

Popcorn
My eyes are blessed, Maid Verdelet is so beautiful
And congratulations on 200 kudos!!! Honestly you deserve so much more!!
And I don't know exactly what kudos is too, but I think it's something like ‘ like’, which means "thanks for writing this fanfic.”
-
And yes, the introduction of Baxter! It was really fun to watch that little animatic. I'm really curious about the impact Baxter will have on the story.
I think the interactions between Baxter and Lolica would be really interesting and I think they could be friends. Lolicia could be one of the people Baxter talks to the most at the hotel.
LOLICIA'S NEW OUTFIT OMG IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!YOU SERIOUSLY DESIGN GREAT CLOTHES.LOLICIA'S NEW HAIR STYLE IS GREAT TOO SERIOUSLY READY FOR BATTLE!
—---
Before battle
The scene at the beginning of the episode where Alator was hallucinating was really nice. I think it added a great air of mystery to the episode, and as always, it was great to read Alastor's inner thoughts.I find the details you put in your dream really clever. It's nice to see such small details for both the future of the story and Alastor's own story.
I really like the way you portray Charlie, her interactions with Alastor are so beautiful to read. And I liked that she talked about the hotel's condition, so we can learn what the hotel is currently like.
The detail of Alastor not liking Precious really made me laugh.
Alastor's interpretation of Charlie's movements was really nice, and the dialogue that Charlie talked about caught my attention.
‘’I can understand that! she laughed heartily. I made mistakes for a long time and a lot of people don't want to see me again either’’
Charlie??
YAAY the part where Alastor remembered Serenity's memory was so cute!!
Alastor's advice to Charlie was also great!
The part where Alastor discusses his strategy with himself and thinks about his enemies and allies was really good.
I can't wait to see Charlie's reaction to him after this little massacre he's about to commit.
—--------
IS IT AN EPISODE FROM LOLICAN'S MEMORY??? WHAT IS HAPPENING???There were too many details, too many descriptions in that memory section?? That part was really well written.Who and what is coming for her!???
There are so many questions, I can't wait for this scene to be illuminated in the future!
First of all, it was great to read Alastor and Lolicia's conversation and planning as always. You really write their relationship wonderfully.
And is Vittorio okay?? Please don't let anything happen to the little guy, there's no need to cause emotional damage to Lolica like this….
And yipppe they're finally heading towards the forest I'm already so excited for the chaos those two will cause.
—--
I'M SERIOUSLY GLAD YOU LIKE THE DRAWINGS!!❤️❤️
—-
Chapter 77 Fairy Ointment
It was really nice to get to know Lysander in this episode, I liked the parts about his childhood or the little fairy ointment story. And again, it was great to learn about Lysander's personality traits, his likes and dislikes, and to see his perspective on hell. The episode had a slightly mysterious and really nice atmosphere, the descriptions were good as always, I can picture all the scenes.
—---
Chapter 78 nettle breeze
The action scenes in the episode are very clever, even though Lys is the weak than the two in the book he know How to use forest for himself, and I think it's very nice that poison and mushrooms come to the fore in the war.I really think the war scenes are  well described, it's really fun to read. The internal dialogues between Lolicia and Alastor as they interpret the events are also really nice. And despite Alastor killing sinners, they’re resurrected again and again. And the mushroom effect on them reminds me of Last of Us
I Imagine the sinners turning into more mushroom zombies every time they die.It was a really good episode, action-wise.
Pt2
OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING???????First of all, I am amazed by the general culture you have with each episode. I did not know that nettle had such an important place in Scandinavian mythology. And everything is so detailed, from the type of tree Leiv died on to the meaning of the braids he knitted for fishing. Just wow I seriously learn new things in every episode thanks to you.
And DRAMA AND PAIN I NEVER THOUGHT THAT LEIV AND LOLICA WERE HUSBAND AND WIFE WHAT????
And the scene where Lolicia finally recognizes Leiv and reveals her identity was so beautiful and the way s Leiv shed tears was SO BEAUTIFUL
I really liked the dialogues Lolicia used there 'You called yourself my guardian  but you died before me’
And for God's sake how did Leiv make enemies that they impaled him on a tree with a sword????
Also in the previous episodes Lolica was being chased by someone, what's going on?And why did they both go to hell, what did they do?
Overall, I really liked the emotional atmosphere of the episode. I think you did a great job of introducing the connection between Leiv and Lolicia.Seriously lolicia's confrontation with Leiv was so sweet
Yeeey finally Alastor's shadow brought news!!
WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S BROKEN, NO!!!???
And the water rising in the last scene AAAA I'M SO EXCITED
—--------
Popcorn: I think Leiv's design is simply amazing and very creative, he really has a great design. And it was really cool to read the details about the design!
—-------
chapter 81 The bear,Gold &heir saga
YAAAY YOUNG  LEIV AND LOLICA
This episode's atmosphere was very nice, it reminded me of old folklore animations. The animations and storytelling are made by the studio that made Wolfwalkers.
I really warmed up to Leiv as a character. Even though he made the people under him work like slaves, his interactions with Lolicia were really fun to read. It was sweet to see Leiv get embarrassed or excited in front of her.
AND this episode left me with a lot of questions about Lolica having the Snow White passive
And ‘'and the girl with the amber eyes and golden halo’’
Facts like the color of Lolicia's hair, the fact that animals don't attack her, and the fact that she came all the way from New Orleans without a boat make the event really interesting.
So was Lolica an Saint l before and then she fell? Or was she in New Orleans when she died or was she never human? What's going on right now?
The song between Lolicia and Leiv was really beautifully written lyrically, I really liked the song
And it makes a lot more sense why Leiv referred to Lolicia as an angel.
Seriously, I have so many questions in my mind and thanks to your writing style , I look at every detail again and everything can be related to the story.
The episode was great for both getting to know Leiv better and learning more about Lolicia!!

Popcorn
DAMN LEIV IS HANDSOME Seriously your design talent is amazing Leiv's design is really beautiful And it was so much fun reading the information you wrote about him.
I think you have really great drawing skills.
THE SKETCH YOU MADE IS SO GOOD!!! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE HUMAN LOLICIA AND LEIV'S JUMPS ON HIS WIFE'S LAP AND SEEKS CONsolation IS SO CUTE TOO

Chapter 83 The calving of glaciers
THIS EPISODE WAS SO AWESOME
I love everything about this episode so much
First of all, I've said this a few times, but I love the way you write Charlie,  she stands her ground and also worries about her friends and tries to protect those around her.But she also knows that she can show her power to take control of the situation if she wants to.
Charlie talking to Husk about Angel was really nice, I really liked the dialogue between them. And I love The way you write Husk, as the depressed old but wise bartender, even though he's had too much to drink, sometimes he gives the best advice.
The scene where Charlie notices the water on the ground and tries to call Vaggie but her voice doesn't come out was really nice.
And Constantine's warning to Charlie was really very logical, as a reader I said, okay, something must be going very wrong.
And I think the warning system is really creative and logical!
I really liked the confrontation between Charlie and Alastor. Charlie not giving in or retreating despite Alastor's objections really suited her character.
In general, I liked the episode very much. The descriptions are good, it is a preparation for the other episodes, the general atmosphere of tension and mystery is very good.
—--
Episode 84 The Calving of Glaciers
HOW CAN YOU INCREASE THE QUALITY SO MUCH IN EVERY EP?
I don't know where to begin praising this episode.
Lolicia's reactions to the events were SO good Fitzroy's betrayal was really effective in the story, and Lolicia being cornered for Vittorio  really increased the tension in the story.
I really loved the dialogue between Fitzroy and Lolica, there was great tension and I really wondered what Lolicia's next move would be.
VITTORIO DID NOT DESERVE THIS. HE WAS ONLY PROTECTING HIS FRIEND. DISHONORABLE FITZROY I HOPE LOLICA BEAT HIS ASS
Also, the scene where Fitzroy throws Vittorio's severed arm in front of Lolicia is very impressive. Also Fitzroy's purpose in entering the Maze actually made sense and Lolicia remembered Serenity's words where it was really nice.
LOLICIA'S DEVIL FORM????? A VERY HIGH-QUALITY ACTION IS COMING, BABY!!!!
-
I really liked how Charlie was so worried about Lolicia and it makes perfect sense that Alastor was trying to hold her back 'believe me my Dear , as someone who has experienced it, I advise you not to do this’
IT'S SO COOL THAT LOLICAN'S SONG IS A VERSION OF GET IN THE WATER AND I LOVED THE LYRICS YOU WROTE
Every stage Lolicia goes to her demon form is so cool, you described it perfectly
NOOO LOLICIA HAS TRAPPED THEM IN A BUBBLE OF SILENCE CHARLIE DO SOMETHING GIRL!!…Your friend  losing her control a bit…But of course, as a reader, I wouldn't say no to cool scenes and I'm very excited right now.
I really liked Charlie asking if Alastor was manipulating Lolicia. The fact that She made a move with the information she had and questioned Alastor was really nice.
And I really love how you added Precious to Charlie's scenes, it's a nice reminder that she's there too.
It was nice that Alastor laughed and rejected the question 'who am I to manipulate her’
And Constantine gives another warning message
things are getting worse.’
YAAAAAAY DRAMA AND ACTION
And Alastor says he's seen Lolicia like this before YIPPE FLASHBACK IS COMING!!
—-
Chapter 85
YEEEY FLASHBACK I think Alastor made the mistake of his life by going after Lolicia, but we'll see.
I can understand Alastor's questions, why is Lolicia so powerful if she's not doing the things the Overlords do to gain power?
AWWW Alastor remembers him trying to comfort Serenity because of her fear of the dark.
The scene where Lolicia appears from the darkness is so cool!
+I liked her dress
The indifference and ego that Alastor showed before he was defeated by Lolica was really funny I mean, with all this arrogance, it's a great chance not to lose to anyone today, you know what they say, radio demon, arrogance and pride are the things that blind a person the most.
Did he grab her chin? Alastor seriously where is the gentlemanliness in war? Tch tch tch
Okay, I loved Lolicia's cold and professional attitude in this war, it was very cool.It was also very good that she said 'you are too weak' to him specially when she had all the cards.
The poetic words that Lolicia said were really beautiful, I thought they were all very meaningful.
The last 3 warnings Lolicia gave to Alastor were really cool. In general, I really liked Lolicia's attitude in the episode. It was very fun to read.
She acts very noble and mysterious and You are very good at describing the environment and characters.
Then, the part where Alastor walks around injured and questions his actions and mistakes is really good. Then, in the part where Zestial comes to Alastor and gives a speech,It's always nice to read Alastor and Zestial's dialogues. And at the end of the episode it was nice to finally have an alastor who had suffered losses and probably learned from his mistakes.Because if he hides that ego, he won't be able to stay there for a long time.
In general, I really liked everything in this episode, the character dialogues, Lolicia's writing, Alastor's writing, the events, everything.
10/10
and I have gifts for you!!! and first of all I think you are a very good designer I really think your outfit designs and character designs are great please don't stop drawing you have a really great talent!

How come u dont love Sam protecter and older brother Dean🥹
By Sam own words Dean raised him, a-lot of the good qualities that Sam has he got from Dean. Yeah Sam childhood wasn't the best, but he was deeply loved by Dean, i believe this love helped overcome many obstacles in his life.
In fact again by Sam own words, Deans love and protection is the only thing he could always count on.
I am not saying Dean is perfect, but who is ? To say that Sam needed protection from Dean sounds odd, where Dean is literally his home and the only place he feels safe.
hi @rosedark88
Interesting question and perspective you have offered.. this would be fun to analyse 😊
Before I start, let me be honest: I'm not Dean's biggest fan because I find a lot of his actions to be problematic. Please proceed with caution: you may not like the answer but I'll break it down as logically as I can. (Please remember, this is not a hate post)
Yes, I agree Dean has been Sam's protector (but only until early seasons. I'll explain what I mean) and he did raise him but time and again Dean has confessed if not to others, then his own subconscious that he hated having to carry that burden. He has let it slip that he is bitter about having to raise Sam (which I can understand, it wasn't fair) but I've seen him pretends otherwise which is two-faced IMO. (He confesses this in S03E10 Dream A Little Dream of Me when he is facing himself, in case you are looking for a reference.)
He is also a hypocrite with repressed emotions. He says he admires his dad but deep down he too resented him but he still gave Sam shit about him because Sam was just more blunt about his opinion of John unlike Dean. Again, in the same episode he says "my dad was an obsessed bastard. All that crap about keeping Sam safe was his crap." See what I mean?
Continuing on the hypocrisy, his whole agenda of "what's dead should stay dead" is gone for a toss when he makes that deal the first time to save Sam in S2. He gave Sam a lot of shit for trusting Ruby because she's a demon (unfortunate for Sam she had bad intentions) but Dean trusted Benny, Gadreel, Crowley and Cas when all of these guys have broken his trust later. But we don't see Sam bringing that shit up like Dean tends to.
Let's also not forget that Dean berated Sam for getting Charlie killed over the Book of the Damned but apparently no one cares that his manipulation got Kevin killed too? Do you see the double standards here?
Speaking of saving Sam, every single time he has done something apocalyptic to save Sam, it was for selfish reasons. The main reason is because Dean struggles to let go, to move on. He'd rather drag a zombie Sam around than let the man die. Even you have to agree there's some truth in that.
Dean hated that Sam left for college and it wasn't because he was afraid something might get to him. No, it was because he saw that as Sam's betrayal. That Sam picked college over him.
Now, coming to your question about why Sam needs protection from Dean his apparent 'savior'? Yes, Dean is willing to do anything to "save Sam" from every evil thing out there but that's the whole problem. Why even Billie doesn't like the Winchesters because these guys are willing to risk the destruction of the whole world to save each other which isn't right.
let's look at those grave "save Sam" moments and see what's wrong with those pictures:
Sam's first death in S2: Dean bought himself one way ticket to Hell to bring Sam back because he didn't want to keep doing this without Sam (he confesses this in his monologue to Sam's corpse and also in the Croaton episode when he finds out Sam is infected and doesn't leave). Dean is literally nobody without Sam and I'm not saying this. This is who Dean is. Sam is Dean's essence for survival. So Dean saved Sam for himself putting Sam through the same ordeal that John put Dean through. Dean passes on his trauma to Sam like a hand me down.
Sam's detox: Bobby tried to knock sense into him that it's probably the cold turkey thing that's killing Sam. I know Dean was trying to help him but I doubt he knew the right way to do so. Even when he realised his method would kill Sam, he was okay letting him suffer like that until he died (because then at least he dies human). I'm sorry that's not how you deal with someone with addiction problem. Despite everything, Sam is still willing to work with Dean but he can't get over Sam choosing Ruby and calls Sam a monster.
In season 6, the brothers realise something is off about Sam. At the end of the episode 'You Can't Handle the Truth' Sam comes clean that he felt different since he was brought back and he needs help to figure it out and how does Dean help him? By beating him unconscious, tying him to the chair like he is a monster? The way he talks to Sam in that scene: "you better hope he (Cas) can diagnose you. he asks, you answer and then you shut your cakehole". So Sam isn't allowed to talk about his own body? Oh wait I know, he's not, not when Dean said so.
In Season 8, he impersonates Amelia, sending Sam SOS just so he can he rendevous with Benny? Amelia was a shore in his Sam's storm. He loved her and deeply cared for her. To let him think something happened to her was cruel. Especially given how Sam's past relationships ended up his beloveds dying horrifically. Who plays such sick mind games? And to your own brother??!
Season 9, my favourite, the one that completely dissolved the rose tinted glasses that the show created for Dean: Manipulating Sam into saying yes to be possessed by an angel (an angel you know nothing of) knowing Sam's history of possession, that was just sick. Sam wanted to die. He was ready. If Dean wanted to save him, the least he could do was be honest about it. Not manipulate him into saying yes. But he didn't. He resorted to manipulation because he knew Sam would rather die than be possessed. Something that people fail to understand here is 'the idea of possession' is a hard limit for Sam. But Dean has no regard for it because in his head "he did what he had to and he won't even apologize for that". I'm sorry, that's the biggest red flag to me. I don't care if you have raised me, protected me and kept me safe only for you to stab me where I'm the most vulnerable. You are no different than all those evil things out to hurt me. That's why I love Sam for standing his ground and not forgiving Dean for this. He was right to say he didn't want to be brothers. If my siblings betrayed me like that, I'd leave too.
And whenn in Season 9 finale, Dean wanted to go off to kill metatron on his own, Sam wanted to tag along but what's dean's response? Punch him into unconsciousness and leave him on the street like that? All vulnerable for any monster to attack him? Really?! How is this protecting? Ya maybe metatron won't kill him but something else still might!
Oh and in Season 15, Dean pulled a gun on Sam and mind you he under no dark influence. This was all him. I'm not even going to elaborate further on this.
I can list at least 10 occasions where Dean has hit, punched, beat up Sam but Sam hasn't fought back. And that's not even what bothers me the most. It's the fact that Sam doesn't look surprised (meaning Dean beaten him before and I so believe he has and it's a frequent, almost business as usual like) or he looks scared (I'll try to find that gif where Sam is on the ground putting his hands before his face to protect himself against Dean). Dean is abusive when he is angry.
Something you said in the ask that struck me odd. What qualities did Sam learn from Dean? Let's see some of Sam's core good qualities:
Emotional intelligence
Forgiving
Compassionate
Empathetic
Selflessness
Determination
Self awareness
Open mindedness
Authencity
Dean is not known for any of the above qualities, so I disagree he learnt his good qualities from Dean. Dean has an emotional intelligence of a wooden plank. He holds grudges and isn't nearly as forgiving as Sam is. Compassion and empathy are not Dean's qualities either. Dean is selfish. His first thought is how to use someone to his advantage. He did that with Cas, Crowley, even Jack. I've seen Dean give up more often. His "I can't keep doing this", "why is it our job to save everyone", "who says I want to do this?" are all indicators of this. Self-awareness tends to dwell in his blindspot. I've said this before, Dean is black and white, Sam is grey area meaning Sam is more open minded than Dean. My favourite: nothing about Dean is original. His leather jacket? John's. His car? John's. His music? John's. His life motto? Also John's. Whereas Sam has been authentic, true to himself than Dean ever could. Did Sam learn hunting from Dean? Yes. Loyalty? Yes. But neither of these are Sam's core qualities. So I disagree that Sam's good qualities come from Dean. If anything, his good qualities are actually him trying not to be like Dean.
Sam can count on Dean's love and protection because he has been conditioned to since he was 6 months old. First by his father and then by Dean himself either through emotional abuse (he keeps reminding him about how his decisions always end up with someone dying or gaslighting him into guilt tripping on things outside his control) or downright physical beatings. The Winchesters have dysfunctional family and relationships. Again, remember Sam is the forgiving one in this relationship. In fact Sam is forgiving to a fault and that's what this is. It doesn't make Dean's actions right just because Sam has been forgiving them.
To summarise, here why I feel Sam needs protection from Dean:
Dean saves Sam only because he doesn't know how to live without him. That's not normal. He has done crazy shit to "save him" resulting in causing Sam more trauma
He quickly lashes out (often resulting in verbal or physical violence) because of his repressed emotions and poor anger management
He has verbally and physically hurt Sam either by calling him a monster or saying he doesn't trust him or by beating him unconscious on multiple occasions
he is controlling, bossy and threatening. "If didn't know you, I'd want to hunt you." Sorry, if I were Sam, I wouldn't feel very safe
Dean doesn't see the wrong in his action or worse, even when he knows he is wrong, he is too stubborn to apologise for that. Everything is shoved under "I did what I had to" or "I'm not apologizing for saving you".
Dean has manipulated Sam and gaslit him
His whole "this is a dictatorship" comes across as a red flag which takes me to my next point:
He never treated Sam as his equal. Don't see how that counts as love
Dean was mad at Sam in DSOTM because Sam's happy memories (that Sam wasn't in control of and the whole situation was probably rigged. I mean, Zachariah cosied up with Mary's image for god's sake) didn't involve Dean. The idea that Sam can have a life outside Dean has never sat well with him
He has locked Sam in the panic room on at least 3 occasions. Sam hasn't done that even once
Sorry, but Dean is not a poster boy for love and protection. When I look at a character, I not only analyse their actions but also try to understand why they acted the way they did. In Dean's case, the why has always been problematic.
Dean's intentions maybe good but his actions don't always align. His philosophy has always been "if the means justify the end" but I don't stand by it. This is what makes room for immoral, tyrant and corrupt actions and an excuse to hide you wrong doings behind those.
These are my views on why I feel Sam needed to be saved from Dean. You may or may not agree and it's fine either ways 😊
Damn! That was lengthy. But thanks for this interesting ask, it was fun! 😇

You looked even more interesting this close.
You eyed him curiously with high eyebrows— waiting for him to speak. He cleared his throat, flashing a smile. "Welcome to the neighborhood," he states, his voice was gravely but it was warm, even soothing. Eerly soothing.
It wasn't really matching his face, he was handsome, you couldn't doubt that for a split second, but he was a bit perturbing. He had a weird aura, maybe off-putting too, but he looked nice. Very nice.
Stop that, you literally just met the man. You mentally shook your head.
"Thank you, mister..." you stopped, waiting for him to finish your sentence.
"Henry," he said, "my name is Henry," he smiled once again.
You nodded, "pleasure to meet you, Mister Henry."
You introduce yourself. "Such a lovely name," he says, and you feel the blood creeping up beneath your skin.
"I apologize—it seemed like you were having a lonely time," he says.
You shook your head, almost instantly, "no worries, you didn't bother."
Why did you say that? Why did you sound so eager and... desperate? In your head, you smacked yourself across the face.
"Oh, um--" he trailed off.
You gasped. "Oh, I'm very sorry-- please come in," you swing the door wider, allowing him to pass inside. He took off his dark fedota and wiped his shoes at the entrance mat. He wasn't this 6ft tall huge—but he was huge, with broad shoulders and a wide dorsum. You felt a little small next to him, maybe more than just a little.
You show him the way into your living room, moving your cozy blankets out of the way for him to sit on your sofa. He gently settled down, eyeing the interior of your house thoroughly. Did he like the decor? Wait--why would you even care? It's your house, not his.
"Sorry again, let me go grab something for you to drink, you must be freezing," you say, turning in your heels and walking straight to the kitchen. He called your name. It pinned you in place.
You never liked how your name sounded more than now.
"Don't bother bringing anything, I don't really need--"
You turned, shaking your head, "that would be very impolite of me, Mister Henry, now allow me to bring you some tea to warm you up."
He surrendered with a huff, "alright," he quietly said. You continued your trip to the kitchen and placed the teapot over the stove.
"Would you like chamomile tea? Hibiscus? Earl Grey? The regular?" you asked as you scavenged through the cupboard for other options.
"Whatever you have there," Henry politely answered.
"Alright, I think we're up for hibiscus."
He stood off his seat to closely inspect your bookshelves. The last residents of this home were an elderly couple, so there's a chance he learns something new about the world from your perspective.
You seemed to be a bookworm, there were dozens and dozens of books on your shelves. He noticed you had a shared interest with him, too; miniature artworks. You loved to collect them, but he loved making them.
He wondered if any of his many miniature works ever made their way to your hands, maybe passed by someone to you, or you received it as a gift, or thrifted it from some local antiques store.
But then he saw the very petite canvas of a peacock. He remembers that, he just doesn't quite remember when, but he surely knows he painted it more than 250 years ago.
"Oh, you seem like you like my collection?" you cringed at yourself. Since when were you this outgoing and social?
You placed the tray down. "I'm sorry, I was just--" he trailed off, turning to look your way with your little art piece in his hand.
You shook your head, "it's alright, I got this one in an auction three years ago for only fifteen hundred pounds! It should've costed way more than that to be honest, it dates back to the seventeen hundreds, as I assume," you were astonished by how talkative you are now. Maybe you were just too excited about your miniature collection.
But he admired how dedicated you were to track it back to its date of manufacturing, and you paid this much for it and still had the will to pay more.
He couldn't help but smile.
"What fascinated you about it?" the artist had to ask.
You shrugged, "well... I guess I like ancient things, specially art," a warmer smile split the pitch darkness of his beard, "the size is enough to amaze you, and the artist was so dedicated in painting the blue feathers, I love it when someone pours their soul into something, it creates something magnificent."
"Are you an artist?" he asked, you nodded, gesturing at the wall behind the sofa. He turned around, his back now facing you, but you could swear you heard him quietly gasp.
"You made these?" he turned to look at you, his brows shooting up his forehead. You hummed, he looked back at the pieces you hung on the wall, moved closer to them, he inspected them, touched them even.
You've never seen a man this mesmerized by your art. All of your previous partners usually plainly reacted to it, other times they never even batted an eye for it.
But him, Mister Henry, he was in awe, his tips were following the wild and free strokes of your brushes, they walked over the ups and downs of the layers, and sensed the pebbles of dry paint so delicately, his fingertips almost dancing over the canvas.
That stirred something in you.
"Are you an artist?" it was your turn to ask this question, he turned to face you, his fingertips still lingering on the canvas. Your eyes shifted between his and his tips, still amazed by the fact that he was interested in your art.
"You can say that," he shrugged and winked.
This, somehow, changed the flow direction of the chemicals of your brain. The lights flipped on inside your head. Your face turns red.
You had no idea what was going on with you, but this was the most attractive thing you've seen a guy doing in years.
Not only he's interested in art, but he's also an artist.
You had to distract yourself from looking into his vast eyes with this unlimited amount of admiration. "The--the tea!" you ripped your eyes off of him, looking at the tray placed on the coffee table.
He hadn't drank tea in decades and never truly minded it, but now he wanted to drink it with you, he felt he missed what it tastes.
He was almost to grab his cup, but something buzzed the skin of his hand, and that's when he noticed that the tray was made of silver.
He almost killed himself for a cup of tea.
You reached down and handed him the cup, he nodded, his face was paler than a sheet, but he smiled to distract himself from the fact that he almost died in a stranger's house... For a little cup of tea.
He felt stupid for this.
"Can I ask you a question, if you wouldn't mind?" he said after taking a sip of his drink. He sure missed that warm and earthy and sweet taste.
You nodded.
"You seem to look like a city girl, what brought you here to the suburbs, in a house near the woods?" Henry is obviously more curious now.
You shrugged, "I needed to be alone, to breathe, and this is what I found, my very own little witch house," he chuckled at your answer, and you couldn't lie, you loved that man's chuckle, you fell in love with it.
It wasn't just because it's been a while since you had a man in your life, but he had something so charming and elegant about him. His fancy clothing, his wizardly attitude, his very sweet but dignified features and, his eyes.
You really, really loved his eyes.
There was an odd reflection of fire in them that you couldn't explain, you didn't know if he was born this way or was it the fireplace behind you or is your mind playing tricks on you.
Marmalade yelled from upstairs, it made your heart drop in your stomach, tearing your train of thoughts apart and shaking your ground. Although you've had this flameball for years now, you never really got used to his sudden loud shrieks; they always took you off guard.
Henry's ears visibly stood up, he caught the scent of fur and canned food, and watched as the little noise machine waddled down the stairs.
"That's Marmalade," you had to say—as you pulled him up to your chest.
"Hey Lad," Henry says, smiles and waves at him.
"He loves to let me know he's present, sorry if he scared you," you lull Marmalade in your cradle-made arms.
Henry gutted a giggle and shook his head, "never mind, he's adorable."
However, Marmalade's ears went into airplane-mode, he pushed you in the chest, forcing you to let go of him and ran up the stairs once again. You were astounded by his act, you turn back to look at Henry, who stood silently with his eyebrows shooting high and his eyes fixed to the ground.
"I'm really sorry, I don't know what's going on with him, maybe it's because he just moved in--" you were explaining, and you don't even know why you were justifying a cat but you stood there and did it.
Henry shook his head, "it's alright I'm... I'm not very favored by most animals," he shrugged, "however, I think I should be going now, I must've kept you past your bedtime and maybe it's why your lad was grumpy," he put on his fedora and passed you.
You were a little startled by the shift of his demeanor, but you followed him to the front door.
He turned the doorknob then turned to look at you. Quietly, he said your name with a smile, "it was a pleasure to meet you."
But this wasn't the last thing you saw of the very peculiar Mister Henry.

You asked for the essay, you get the essay.
First and foremost, the premise of the show is that anyone, no matter how awful, can be redeemed. Based on that alone, there's already room for Alastor to make the cut. He would absolutely take the longest and I believe he'd be the last of the original cast to have done so, but I think its not only possible but plausible. From a writing perspective it would be brilliant should they carry it off.
But that's the Doylist answer, we're interested in the Watsonian one.
The first thing that makes me think so, is that we've already seen him change, in small ways, but its change nonetheless.
Turning away Mimzy, which while was most likely because he was trying to make Lucifer swallow the narrative that he was constructing, still showed him prioritizing the hotel.
Lending Charlie his Mic. THAT was a trust exercise. It didn't take place during one of the scheduled times, but make no mistake he placed a SHITTON of trust in Charlie then, he just didn't tell her. It was on his own terms, but like I said SMALL changes.
Threatening Husk. That sounds contradictory because how could threatening someone indicate a GOOD change? Because we very much have heard about Alastor being the type of person you don't fuck around with. People do everything they can to avoid him so much as NOTICING them. He's absolutely the type to kill without warning but he DIDN'T. He threatened because he LIKES Husk.
And of course him mentioning "One could become accustomed" to the rest of the Hazbin cast. First of all, that was right before a major battle, he could very well lose any of these people the next day. That's such a fond thing to say under those circumstances, especially for someone like him. (This is pure speculation, but remember what Mimzy said about him becoming a kitten after a drink or two?? What better time to drink than the eve before a major battle??? Alcohol loosens the tongue, ergo Alastor is an affectionate drunk. Honestly??? That would be fucking hilarious, and would explain why hes not visibly drunk around any of them despite liking alcohol)
Also!!! Rosie!!!! The fact that he DOES have the capacity for genuine friendship, however twisted, shows that he has the potential to cultivate even more relationships like those, perhaps in a healthier manner even.
That said, it will be HARD.
He will fight TOOTH AND NAIL. He is the embodiment of it gets worse before it gets better. He's gonna fuck up SO MUCH MORE before that even becomes a possibility. Because in order to get him to actually consciously make the decision to become better, he has to have remorse to work with. Right now Alastor feels none guilt about just about anything hes done up until this point. He's a monster and he knows and loves that about himself. He DOES have a moral code in there somewhere, its just wildly different than anyobody else's and he hasn't broken THAT once. He needs to be put in a position where he DOES.
Because for someone like him, redemption can't be an accident the way it was with Pentious. It needs to be an intentional goal that he has to work towards with the same kind of intensity he's put toward evil. And given the set up they have for him to betray the Hotel, I genuinely hope that's the catalyst. I hope its right after Charlie goes out of her way to do something genuinely meaningful for him (Like passing him a message from his Mother, because she sought her out while she was in Heaven. She knows how much he cares about her at that point, and made the effort to make contact and see if she could get smuggle a letter down for him. Maybe it even causes her some trouble too just to add fuel to the fire.)
But if that remorse were to begin, I think it would eat him alive. In the same way pain feels magnified when its not a frequent thing, Alastor has never felt guilt before so its crushing to him.
Alastor is also not the type of person to sit around and mope so after figuring out what the fuck is happening to him, he would be the type to force himself through whatever he thought necessary to deal with it. And the way to deal with it is to put himself through Charlie’s program.
He has to see his Mom, and he has to make things right.
And that fucker is driven.

who's cecilia 👀
For the ask game
So, Cecilia is Tom Riddle Sr's lady friend (perhaps fiance) as seen in HBP. This fic is written from her perspective, where, while doing charity work, she happens upon a young boy in an orphanage who shares her ex-fiancé's name and appearance. This leads her and Tom Sr to become reacquainted, resulting in canon divergence. I have written 10k or so of it, but I'm not sure how much I'll keep as I think a lot of this pre-Merope writing can be boiled down to a couple of scenes. I'm also still working out characterisation for Tom Sr and Cecilia as they're almost OCs with the amount we know about them.
A scene:
“He’s the spitting image of you,” Cecilia marvelled, looking between the solemn little face in the photograph and Tommy reading a book in the very same chair, his feet just as far from the floor.
“Yes,” Tom said. He looked conflicted—a strange mixture of pride and anxiety. “But who’s to say that we’ll look the same when he grows older.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he remained identical. The resemblance is uncanny,” Cecilia said, assuming his concern was Tommy taking after his unsightly mother. She nudged his shoulder with her knee and smiled. “The same handsome face as his father.” It came out more flirtatious than she had intended. Without thinking she had spoken to him as she would have when they were at Cambridge together. But they no longer had that intimate relationship.
Before the embarrassment could take hold, Tom was speaking again. He didn’t look appeased by her words; if anything, his expression had grown more troubled. “Perhaps it would suit him better to be plainer.”
Cecilia was surprised that he would say that of a son. She could imagine herself thinking it, if she had a daughter with Tommy’s cherubic, doll-like features. Knowing well the unwanted attention that would come frighteningly early in childhood. Never had she thought that a boy might suffer the same disadvantage, nor had she ever the impression that Tom was displeased with his own features. But Tom would know better than her, she was sure. Besides, she knew nothing of the past half-decade of his life. They were all but strangers to each other.
Tommy shut the book with a loud snap.
“What did you think?” Tom asked, jovial again, poor mood forgotten.
Tommy glared at him and scuttled off to hunt down more books between the narrow aisles of the library. Strange creature, Cecilia thought. She wondered if all children were as odd as Tommy. She’d scarcely spent any time with them since she was one.
He returned a short while later with a stack of nine books including, Cecilia noted, the novel that he’d just finished reading. Much to her surprise, he plopped himself down on the floor beside his father and set them all out.
SHERLOCK HOLMES was embossed in gold on the leather of each book.
“You’ve read all of these,” Tom said, glancing curiously down at the titles.
“I hate them,” Tommy said without preamble. “They’re all cheats.”
“Cheats?” Tom repeated, sounding amused. “How so?”
“You can’t solve the mysteries before Holmes in almost all of them. I’ve checked. They keep too much a secret. That’s cheating.”
It was the most Cecilia had ever heard him talk. That he was entirely ignoring her existence did not escape her notice. Perhaps he spoke more to his father when she wasn’t there? It was only now that she observed his accent—the coarse twist of his vowels, the careful emphasis that he placed on the ‘h’ in Holmes so as to not drop it like other Cockneys. It surprised her. Her impression of Tommy had never been of an image-conscious child but, in this regard, it seemed he was.
“I suppose that’s true,” Tom said. Cecilia knew that he had little interest in fiction. She doubted he’d ever engaged critically with a novel in his life—compulsory English classes exempted. His preferred form of entertainment was the latest edition of Reviews of Modern Physics or, on occasion, visiting the pictures to watch Charlie Chaplin fall down thirty times.

The Teacher and the Mob Boss - Chapter 6-
Warnings: alcohol consumption, cursing
Word count: ~1.800
This chapter is written from Bucky's perspective, so enjoy
I stare fixedly at the car key lying on the desk in front of me, as I have done so many times in the last few hours, trying desperately to suppress the urge to grab it and just drive to her. I clench my jaw tightly and frantically run it through my already tangled hair.
The radio silence between me and (y/n) is unbearable, again and again I go through the last days with her in my mind, I analyze every single aspect of our time together. However, I can't think of anything that would make her mad at me. For the first time in my entire life, I have real interest in a woman, for the first time, it is important to me what she thinks of me, and whom I want to show everything of me. Someone I want to be completely involved with.
Every time Charlie tells me a new story about her, every time it comes back to me how loving, smart and understanding my princess is, and with each story, the need to see her grows. How many times I have stood outside her apartment, resisting the urge to knock on her door and nag her until she finally tells me what is going on. But I will respect her wishes and her personal freedom.
Frustrated, I slam my fist on the surface of the desk in front of me and take a big swig of whiskey from my glass.  Her rejection almost causes me physical pain. The need to see and hold her grows with every passing second. I don't know when it happend, that I'm so addicted to her, I just know that it happend and that i don't want to change it.
The ringing of my cell phone snaps me out of my cloudy thoughts, without paying attention to the name recognition I pick up and hold the phone to my ear.
"Barnes" my voice sounds monotone, devoid of any emotion
"It's nice to hear from you too boss" I roll my eyes in annoyance
"What do you want Natasha?"
"I have news for you" I can literally see her grin in front of me. Silence falls over our conversation.
"Nat if you don't say something right now I'm hanging up."
"It's okay, calm down Barnes. Wanda just called me." Annoyed, I exhale
"Anything interesting coming up now?"
"Now hold on. Wanda told me your teacher doesn't want to know about you anymore.”
"If you were just calling to state the obvious, I'm hanging up now." My finger is already wandering over the display, about to end the call, when Nat stops me.
"Wait Barnes..." again a short pause fills the conversation.
"I know the reason why she doesn't want to talk to you anymore" abruptly my whole posture changes, I now sit bolt upright in my chair listening to every word that comes out of Natasha's mouth.
"She thinks you are engaged"
"I'm what now" I jump up from my office chair so fast it falls over backwards.
"I'm not engaged, I most certainly am not. Who would say something like that?"
"Linda Pierce" the name makes my blood run cold and my eyes narrow to slits. I can hear the blood rushing in my ears and the blind hot rage rises inside me. In a flash, I grab my car keys and am about to rush to the door when my conscience, in the form of a certain redhead from the other end of the line, speaks up.
"James for fuck's sake chill", I immediately stop in my movement.
"How am I supposed to go down when they're spreading rumors about me, I'm definitely not engaged to her, that will never happen. I really want to put a bullet between their eyes, right now."
"I can understand you, really I can. And believe me, every one of us has a rage against this family, I mean they are the reason why half of our people are no longer with us. But we need a plan, all right. We can't just run into this thing haphazardly. Wanda will come to me now and we'll talk about it again in detail, I'll let you know tomorrow what exactly came out of it." a low grumble escapes my throat.
"You do know that I'm actually the boss here, right?" a soft, laugh can be heard from the other end of the line, which also elicits a smile from me.
"then act like it Barnes. I'll talk to you tomorrow." Before I can say anything back, a steady beep is heard from the other end of the line, a clear sign that Nat has just hung up.
The rage against Pierce and his family is omnipresent, various murder fantasies shoot through my head, one more bloodthirsty and brutal than the other before. The urge grows in me to implement every single one of these ideas personally on Pierce and his sieve.  However, it doesn't take all too long for these to be replaced by a freshly acquired knowledge.
"She thinks I'm engaged, that's why. The reason she's mad at me is not because of me,but because of a lie" an disbelieving laugh escapes me as I realize why my princess suddenly didn't want to talk to me anymore.
Without thinking about it for long, I grab my car keys and thank God that Charlie really wanted to spend the night with her grandma today. With quick steps I cross the foyer of my mansion and a little later I'm already sitting in one of my cars. With a quiet purr the engine comes to life and I bring the already very familiar route to (y/n) apartment behind me.
The bright lights of the street lamps pass by the car windows like bright flashes and the darkness covers the city like a threatening blanket. Arrived at my destination, I leave my car almost in a hurry and rush in the direction of her apartment and finally hammer like a madman against the door.
I hear how the door of the neighbor opens, which, however, after only a short, sharp look from me immediately disappears again in the interior of his apartment.
"Princess open the door. Please" After a short while, can hear loud poling and a quiet "Damn" from the inside of the apartment, before the door is torn open. And for the first time in what feels like an eternity, I look into her bright eyes. Already at first glance, I can see that she is apparently drunk or at least on the best way to it.
Tenderly, I push her aside to make room for myself in her hallway, grinning at her, and I can't help but pull her into my arms and hold her so close to me. Her familiar smell rises to my nose and I close my eyes for a moment, enjoying it. When I finally break away from her again, I meet confused eyes.
"What are you doing here James? Shouldn't you be with your daughter?" she turns her back on me at that and makes her way to her living room, with quick steps I follow her.
"Charlie is with my mother and I really wanted to see you." an incredulous sound leaves her perfect lips.
"I told you to stay away from me. It hasn't even been eight hours James." she takes a deep sip from her wine glass
"I can't help it, you put a spell on me. You're a drug I can't get off of. And I know what your problem is now." She raises an eyebrow in invitation.
"Oh you do?" tenderly I pull her to me and take the glass from her hand before setting it down on the living room table.
"Yes, and I just want you to know that I'm not engaged. I would never flirt with anyone else if I were. You might want to keep that in mind for the future."
A disbelieving laugh escapes her and she looks at me, stunned.
"It's really beyond belief that you assume we're going to have a future together, which then goes as far as an engagement. Your ego must really be bigger than the Empire State Building." Annoyed, she rolls her eyes and drops onto the sofa, quickly I do the same and sit down next to her.
"If it makes you feel any better, my ego has shrunk quite a bit since your rejection." I watch her as she intently observes the liquid in her glass. A desperate attempt to avoid looking me in the face.
"Definitely won't hurt you if you take it down a notch." Her bitchy tone makes me laugh before I take the glass from her hand and allow myself a hearty sip from it.
I quickly become serious again, however, as I remember the real reason for my visit. With a deft movement, I put the glass back on the table and grab her hand instead. With slow, circular motions, I let my thumb glide over the back of her hand.
"I'm serious though (y/n), I'm not engaged, I would never make false promises to a woman. Loyalty still means something in my world, you have to believe me."
I look lies still on our hands and her voice is more like a whisper, an insecure undertone resonating in it.
"But James, why would a perfect stranger come to my workplace just to tell me this lie. It doesn't make any sense at all."
She finally lifts her gaze and looks at me, at the sight of sadness in her eyes, I have to swallow hard and it feels like my heart is breaking a bit.
"I can't tell you why she did that, at least not yet, I have to find out for myself first. But I can tell you that my family and the Pierce family have a long history together..."
"Tell me."
"Princess, I don't think this is the right time."
"It wasn't a request James, it was an ultimatum. Tell it to me or leave. Your choice, I deserve the truth and if you can't even give me that then I can't need you in my life. You just said loyalty still means something to you, so prove it to me." her face is rigid and her voice sounds firm, I don't doubt for a second that she means her words. I straighten up further and intertwine our fingers together.
"Alright, but please let me finish, alright?" after a short nod from her, I start to tell her my whole life story.

I was going to make a post questioning the passages from (Not)Charlie's perspective in the fourth closet and how she seems to believe she really is Charlie, but rereading the passage I was thinking of, it is actually possible for her not to be thinking that way. Her feeling upset that John doesn't buy the act isn't necessarily her genuinely being confused that he thinks she isn't her, but it might actually just be Liz being confused and angry that John is the only one who doesn't take her at face value.
"He doesn't believe me. How can he think I'm not me?" Might be a genuine question to herself, wondering what she can change to make her act more believable. Her reflecting on her death, not going any further into detail other than being trapped and hearing the sound of springlocks, also fits Elizabeth's death
And her asking Jessica things to make it more believable too. "Jessica, do you remember him telling me something important that night?" "Something important?" "Something... that I would remember. Should remember." Like she's literally asking for tips and Jessica even is like "hmm that's really fucking weird" to herself
Man apparently there are quite a few people who hate the twist in the fourth closet but the foreshadowing is actually really interesting in my opinion

(Diff anon) I think that dichotomy is part of why I enjoy. Charli as a figure so much. It feels so much more ~relatable~ to watch her grapple with wanting traditional success vs being a niche legend. It’s part of why I think her perspective is so interesting too. The contrast between brat and crash and their success and how they were received by both Charli and her audience is so interesting to me.
i really don't know anything about her (except brat, and her songs like boom clap from years ago) but the interview was insightful for this reason. kinda filled in the big gaps, and gave insight into her personality. also, because as hypocritical as her words sounded at times, she also obviously cares about her career and music a lot and puts a ton of effort into it. she's not just throwing something at the wall and pretending she doesn't care what happens. she has a very clear vision and sound.

my thoughts on the talebert files that nobody asked for
ok so... I'm terrified of the effect this will have on the fnaf community. obviously, nothing from this should be used as evidence pieces in theories. we have the official freddy files (along with media such as the encyclopedia) and even the officially released ones have inaccuracies that make them debatable for theorizing. so obviously, nothing from a completely scrapped book should be used for theorizing. and, this is all if it is not just a hoax. at the time of writing this, there's no public comment from Scott, just the alleged emails put in the doc. so keep in mind that this may all be a hoax on top of what I previously mentioned.
for the purpose of this, I'm just dissecting my thoughts on it and what I think it could have meant. I think it's fun to read through and see what the intended canon was at one point and if any of it lines up with the current product or theories. please, do not take any of this as me trying to confirm or debunk a theory.
with that out of the way, ramble under the cut....
the most memorable thing from this has got to be the william speech.
Tumblr media
this william characterization is the epitome of "where is your rage?!"
this version of events comes in contact with a few common fan theories and debates: death order, will/puppet stuff, and willcare
in the order of events that this was written off of, the bite victim would be the first victim (note for this section: the cassidy tucker discussed in this seems to be a version of charlie). because "cassidy", aka the charlie we have in our canon, follows the order of events of william losing a child before henry. while this does lead to william targeting henry's child, it doesn't follow the commonly speculated reasoning of revenge.
"...perhaps that tucker girl. she shines too much of a bright smile, she is a container for love that will soon burst. I will repurpose her."
my interpretation of this is an application of this williams understanding of humanity. he sees the existence of a happy, bright being as otherwise useless if not applied by someone with more adept girls. he needs something to give the gift of life. from here, I could see two different visions for this:
he needs something that is a spirit to complete this goal OR he is looking for something with a good heart to pass on this gift. I feel it is far more plausible he simply needs something that has already passed on, and sees this cassidy/charlie girl as being someone complacent who he thinks would do what he needs from her.
interestingly, this creates a new perspective on the topic of who stuffed the children. if the goal of this speech was followed through, it sounds like the puppet would be the one that literally places the children in the suits, but under some sort of direction from william. the specific usage of "giving the gift of life" obviously calls back to the infamous give gifts, give life minigame.
for the idea of willcare (the general opinion that william cared about his family and specifically the death of the crying child), this william wouldn't align with that theory. the crying child's death doesn't seem the affect his emotional effect, and it doesn't spark the rage that's always been there. instead, it leaves him feeling ridiculed. this speaks to this William's egoism and selfishness. he seemed to feel no love for his child, the thing his death brings him is embarrassment and more questioning over life. when looking at what he's left behind, it's from the perspective of how that plays into life, death, and the rules of science. he doesn't seem to see it as the life of a person, but just life for what it is.
if this characterization was canon, I feel it puts an interesting spin on the idea of putting the crying child back together. under this version, it seems like william is far more invested in solving the puzzle of what morality means over any human connection.
as mentioned in the note about cassidy and charlie, the version of henry in this book is a man named emmet tucker, making the tuckers of this book a prototype of the emilys. emmet is a bit different than our henry and seems to be more forceful. the best descriptor of his character is this letter:
Tumblr media
this relationship between henry and william is different than the fnaf media we have. in most canon examples, henry and william seem to be business partners, where this reads as emmet/henry being a fazbear employee under william who is being greatly taken advantage of for his talents from the beginning. I would take this as something changed in the game canon, this doesn't sound like an "old friend" as described in the fnaf 6 ending.
this also stuck out to me, a list of suspects for the MCI:
Tumblr media
it gives us ages of (almost) all of the listed men as of 1985. we get a few drops of this book's lore here in terms of these major characters. william was apparently diagnosed with schizophrenia because of his sighting of the shadow animatronics. we know these are real, meaning this is a misdiagnosis. this book's phone guy, steve (interesting how his first name made it to the movie), allegedly has a gambling addiction that makes the author question his involvement over the idea he... wanted the insurance payoff from killing these kids so he could gamble it? this book has it OUT for phone guy, let me tell you. the description for mikes suspicion is hidden and he's been cleared as innocent for an unknown reason. he was convicted of manslaughter following the bite, and is confirmed to be the fnaf 1 protag. tucker is listed as the creator of the mediocre melodies who was angry when his line of animatronics wouldn't be used.
throughout this book, steve is an interesting figure. the writer, talebert, seems convinced he is the one responsible for the MCI. perhaps this plays off of the OG theory of phone guy being william?
in what's released, to my understanding as someone who hasn't read the frights books yet, dr talebert is a character throughout the stichwraith plotline. to my understanding, the characterization is very different. notably, talebert is being paid by fazbear entertainment. talebert at multiple points seems to be retroactively changing things as he goes, big or small. he says emmett has anger issues as evidenced by an outburst at afton over the decomition of the MM. in reality, going off the previously posted letter, it moreso seems like his anger resulted from being bossed around by william and not receiving financial compensation. a miscellaneous citation on page 10 of the document shows talebert changing the location of cassidys death from fredbears to freddys, changing the point in time she would have died. there are a lot of interesting quirks to talebert that I can't get into all of them, but I wouldn't consider him a reliable narrator.
there's a lot in these files that I'll probably keep talking about at some point. please, please look at them for yourself. keep in mind this is all scrapped at best, and fabricated at worst. lots of love!

Charlie Eppes x Fem!Reader - Chapter 5 - Annotations
A/N: Part of this chapter was inspired by a suggestion given by @bigbottboy. Thank you!!
THE AMOUNT OF RESEARCH I DID JUST TO FIND A COLLEGE THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THE READER TO ATTEND OH MY GOD. 😭😭😭
I am going to fight Tumblr. It keeps removing my goddamn paragraph indents!
Tumblr media
The second time you and Charlie were apart was when you went off to college. You could only afford to go to an in-state university, but you were still six hours away which made visits to your hometown were few and far between. Charlie continued his work on The Eppes Convergence while he also worked on getting his Associates of Applied Science, and you pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of California in Berkeley.
Your social life improved as soon as you stepped foot on campus. You made friends that supported you and your interests. You went to parties, tried new things, some of which you probably shouldn’t have. You had many new experiences that made you understand why Charlie came back from Princeton so much more confident. You still hated your math classes though, because he wasn’t there to help you work through it. This time you called him while you were away, letters were only entertaining the first time around, this time you just wanted to hear his voice. His voice sounded like home.
While you were away, you tried to have romantic relationships a few times, but most encounters ended in a one night stand, and then you’d actively avoid anyone you’d ‘encountered’ if you saw them around campus. People tried to pursue you more than you did them, and every time someone got too close to you, you separated yourself from them. You were too scared of committing to something that could tear you apart like it had the first time.
Charlie tried focusing on his work, but some days it was hard. He missed his brother, who was away in New Mexico, and he missed you. He enjoyed Larry’s company, though. Larry got him through the loneliness. He reminded Charlie of you sometimes, specifically when he talked about human behavior. How it was fascinating, devastating, beautiful and terrifying, and completely irrational all at once. He appreciated the deep thoughts you both offered in your own ways, as he would typically fall into the habit of reducing most humans to the statistical likelihood that they would behave one way or another, but insight like yours constantly shifted his perspective, and he was better because of it.
The morning after you had stayed up with Charlie to watch Little Women, he woke up first. He looked down to see you asleep on his chest, beside you there was a few tissues lying on the bed. He slowly got up and laid your head back down on the pillow behind you and cleaned up the tissues, put away the tissue box, and left the room to get himself ready for the day. He decided that, since it was Saturday, he should just let you sleep in.
He went down to the kitchen and started grabbing ingredients to make breakfast. One of the easiest breakfast foods his mom had ever taught him how to make was french toast. He got the eggs, the milk, and some bread and got cooking. He whisked the egg and milk in a bowl, and then soaked the bread in the mixture for a couple seconds. When he placed the soaked bread on a pan on the stove, the smell of it toasting wafted up to the guest bedroom, and it woke you up.
It wasn’t often that you woke up to the smell of breakfast being made, as you often made it for yourself or grabbed food at the dining hall at CalSci. The atmosphere of waking up in the Eppes guest room with the smell of breakfast cooking downstairs was incredibly comforting. Charlie made a couple pieces of toast for each of you,  he cut them diagonally, drizzled syrup on them, and put a slab of butter on top of each serving. He set down your plates on the table, and discovered your copy of Little Women sitting where you’d left it the night before. He wasn’t much of a reader, unless he was reading books on mathematical theories, but regardless he found himself picking it up and flipping through it anyways.
You’d written your thoughts on the book in the margins, and he smiled softly as he read the words. He knew much about how the movie made you feel, you always talked about it every time you watched the movie, but this was a far more in depth version of that. He noticed the patterns and parallels in the book, and soon he was sitting down underlining and analyzing not only the book itself, but what it made you feel. He enjoyed any opportunity he was given to know you better.
You made your way downstairs and into the dining room to see breakfast on the table, and Charlie very invested in your favorite book. You grinned as you sat down. “Thank you for making breakfast.” You spoke softly, and he quickly turned his head to look at you. His eyes widened.
“Sorry- I just saw the book sitting here and I-”
“No, it’s okay. I’m glad you’re finally taking an interest in the book.” You cut him off, still smiling.
Now that he was at ease again, he decided to ask, “Can I hold onto this for a little while?”
You nodded, “Just take good care of it.” You took a bite of the french toast, which was still warm. “This is just what I needed.” You remarked, pointing your fork down at your plate. “Truly, thank you.”
“I’m glad you like the food.” He smiled bashfully. He didn’t exactly see himself as a good cook, so any praise for food he cooked made him extremely happy.
The two of you spent the rest of breakfast talking about the book, and you loved how suddenly interested he was in reading something you liked. He was focused on recognizing the patterns and parallels, but you made a point to redirect his thoughts to how the book made him feel as he read it. You wanted to know what kind of thoughts the writing invoked in him. You secretly hoped he would take more book recommendations after this.
After you both finished your food, you took both your plates, rinsed them off, and put them in the dishwasher. “Now that you and Don caught the killer you were after, I think I’m going to return home today.” You stated, and Charlie’s face fell. He didn’t know why, but he’d already gotten so used to you staying with him in just a few days, that he had forgotten the fact that you would eventually need to return to your own space. You turned around and saw his sunken expression, and the second you made eye contact, he changed it to a nonchalant expression and quickly shifted his attention back to your book in his hands.
“Alright.” He said softly, turning the page. You walked over to the table and sat down beside him before gently grabbing his hand, which made him look back towards you. His expression softened, and you gave him a reassuring smile.
“But I will continue to visit so often that you’ll be sick of me.”
He chuckled, “I don’t think I could ever be sick of you.” He spoke sincerely. The two of you just sat in silence, looking into each other’s eyes. Then it happened again. As you looked into his eyes, and you felt a knot in your stomach. You still couldn’t figure out why, suddenly, your friendly demeanor faltered under his gaze, and you felt.. vulnerable.
Charlie felt it too. He knew something was changing between the two of you, in a way that was different then it had changed in the past. Before, you had been growing apart, and now it seemed you were becoming closer than you had ever been. Looking into your eyes, he felt what he could only describe as butterflies in his stomach, and he was more nervous being so close to you.
You pulled your hand away from his, the realization of how your feelings towards him were suddenly changing was too overwhelming. “I think I’m gonna start packing.” You blurted out, before quickly going up the stairs. Charlie just sat there, processing what he knew you both felt. He closed the book, and thought about going after you, but he realized you weren’t ready.
You quickly began putting your things back in your bag as your mind raced. You weren’t in a hurry to leave, but making yourself busy with something, anything, was a good distraction. You hated the feeling in your stomach, there was no butterflies on your end, they felt more like moths, and they were eating you alive. You didn’t want to develop feelings for anyone, ever, let alone your best friend. In your experience, romantic feelings ruin everything. Charlie was your favorite person, your best friend in the whole world, and you refused to ruin that.
Charlie didn’t know what to make of the moment, or the very similar one the night before. He knew it was possible that the letter your students had written planted a seed of possibility in your heads that made you more likely to consider something beyond friendship for the first time. He also knew that this was their plan. Maybe they were right. Maybe he had feelings for you that were buried so deep under the idea that you could only ever be close friends. Nothing less, nothing more.
At the moment, he really couldn’t be sure of anything. He didn’t know how you felt, and if you really had felt some sort of spark, or if he imagined that you had, and actually the only one who felt anything more was him. There were too many possibilities, too many variables. He decided that while you packed and did your own thing for a little while, he would consult Larry.
When you were finished packing, you decided to try and talk to Charlie again. You hoped things would return to normal between the two of you as soon as you saw him again. When you went downstairs, you found that he had left, and taken your book with him. It was initially a little disheartening, but you knew Charlie was constantly moving, especially if he had something on his mind, so it wasn’t too much of a surprise to see him gone. You knew you’d see him again soon enough, so you went back upstairs, grabbed your bag, and put it in the back of your car before driving back home.
When you got home, you parked by your apartment and went to grab your bag, and then you saw someone parked a couple spots away from you get out of their car and start walking towards you. You didn’t recognize them, and as they started walking faster you realized they were possibly going to attack you so you quickly closed your trunk and rushed to get back into your car, but the man hadn’t been too far away to begin with, so as you went to open your car door he caught up to you. He quickly covered your mouth with a cloth, and everything went black.

i never really understood the pearl clutching wrt to claudia wanting to have sex. louis was experimenting with boys but he's scandalised that claudia at over 18 is interested in sex. did he really think they froze everything when they turned her? like the minute she asked about love between two men, louis should have known she was growing up.
also lestat knew exactly what he was triggering taking her to lover's lane. and i think he knew what would follow with claudia's sexuality awakening.
i think clauds asking lou about love between two men wasnt so much about her tryna understand her own sexuality but moreso the fact that lxl were prolly the first gay relationship shes ever seen in her life beforehand. cuz before that scene shes writing ‘they have a funny way of being nice with eachother’ and shes looking at lestat’s hand on louis shoulder. louis is pretty clear about wanting claudia bc he couldnt have children, bc he lost his family, whereas lestat sees claudia as a means to keep louis but grows to see her as his child too. mutual babytrap gone terribly wrong. but ur definitely onto something with how lestat takes claudia to hunt at lover’s lane..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
les is giving “back in my day, when u reached 14 u understood sexual innuendos” here lol. lestat & louis engorge claudia with luxurious items on their terms: giving her a diary, clothing, scraps of sentiment, and the knowledge of the hunt. an adolescent vampire possesses a reduced level of impulse control, and she shows such, her reactions are beyond control of what lestat + louis terms are even when shes mentally closer to a child in the beginning of her arc. she ends up gorging herself on flesh, to where lestat & louis come under heightened scrutiny bc of it.
now whether u mean fans or lxl characters ‘pearl clutching’, idk but it serves well to why lestat and louis have different reasons for wanting claudia to remain their child, even at the expense of her wants and desires.. if u mean fans i think its bc the costuming/acting on bass’s end suggest claudia in ep4 occupies far more of a childlike role bc she is still mentally young for some parts of the episode. her childish perspective girds our viewpoint in some parts, with the camera at lower angles, fantastical scenes of bones and flesh sticking out when the police inspect the townhouse that logically, could not have been there, the soundtrack even sounds childish if that makes sense. even tho she ages from 14-21 years old in this ep, she is living her second [or first, really] act of childhood. but at some point the ‘child’ wants to be free of their ‘parents’ terms and conditions.
u have a p clear violation of her boundaries when lestat and louis read thru her diary in an attempt to ascertain where she kept the bodies, but theyre also trying to read ‘their’ creation bc shes starting to explore a sense of self outside of being ‘their’ child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that sense of ‘self’ includes also, a sexual self. charlie even says he cant believe claudia is a young woman [19 is the age she is at the time they meet?] bc of how young she looks. her killing charlie in a lust filled craze, lestat making her watch him burn, leads claudia to asking what her lot in life will be. why cant she have her lestat, her louis? she fails to make companions bc of her incomplete physical maturation as an adolescent and her weakness at the time as a vampire, killing any companion she tries to make. and its truly a sad lot in life to where creeps & freaks interested in perpetual adolescence/youth r what claudia feels is her only chance at a romantic, much less, sex life.

Author's Notes on 'Creature' and 'Home': Trans Love, Bad Queers, and Happy Endings.
Tumblr media
By Syd Briscoe CREATURE and HOME were an interesting pair of episodes to write, because they reflect on the same experience in very different ways. Not two sides of a coin, but then we'd be hypocritical if we went for something too binary, wouldn't we?
I started writing from the POV of wanting to give Charlie an ending that he deserved, and my voicing him actually influenced the cross-dimensional premise of the season entirely. As you may have noticed, I was finally (after the better part of a decade on an NHS waiting list) allowed to start taking testosterone while we were planning things out, and my voice changed really quickly. So from a purely practical perspective I started thinking about how punk it was to have a trans VA change sound completely during a story.
Charlie has been a challenge as a writer ever since the pilot episodes, because he's not a capital-letter Good Queer in the way that people often write their queer characters to be. He's angry, he's petty, he's paranoid, he's anxious - the track that always makes me think of him is 'I'm Not A Good Person' by Pat the Bunny, and he'd sing along to every word with a complete lack of irony. He's been through some stuff which he's never unpacked, and he stands for those among us who feel like we missed the boat in life somehow.
That's why it felt important for him to still be like that once he got whammied with the magical transition stick. Because so often in media our narratives end with us transitioning, begin post transition, and/or view it as a magic wand which is at once the root of and solution to all our problems. Charlie is still a horrid little goblin once he's allowed to feel more like himself in his skin - he's still angry, he's still depressed, he's still plagued by memories and bothered by things he can't have. He's also still very much our root-deep link to Glasgow, even as he finally learns to get off the subway.
If Charlie is an expression of how our experiences existing while trans can shape us - for better or worse - then the Creature is a manifestation of all the things we didn't get to be. Particularly the older members of the community, which very much influenced its conception as an ancient being. We didn't get to mould our bodies, we didn't get to exist outside of a hostile society, we didn't get to just be how we are. We didn't get to be the children or the teenagers our cis peers were, we didn't get to have the silly nights out without fear, and we didn't get to be carefree.
The Creature absorbs that, tries to shield the other characters from feeling that, and yet it endures. It isn't a fantasy of wish fulfilment - it isn't a gender fairy creature - but it's how I imagine an ancient being would conceive of the business of gender and queerness in a very different way to how our society does. Namely that it doesn't matter at all in the same way we'd think about it, and they're a bit confused as to why our hostile world would care so much, but the fact that people it cares about have experienced it in the way we do matters very much.
I wanted to have the Creature feel very alien, and then Charlie to come from his extremely bare bones relatable Going Through Some Shit place, and them to find not only love but more importantly purpose together. It often feels like there are so few trans love stories, and when there are they're about Hyper Passing Person No1 finding Cis Person No2, or couples breaking up due to transition, and… fuck that, to put it bluntly. Charlie is a weird person. The Creature isn't a person. If the lads on Grindr don't love you, then that doesn't mean you're unlovable. Weirdos are here, and we have always been here.
My first concept for CREATURE was Charlie helping the Creature change their jewellery. The OG idea was about body mods and the queer community, but given everything happening in the UK, my writing soon became influenced by other things. It was meant to be a very simple metaphor at the start, but it became more complicated for political and personal reasons. I don't think you can make queer art in this country without it feeling fraught at the moment, as we get battered in the media for no good reason other than our existence, and it would be nice to have something's protective wings spread over us for a while.
It is not easy being in transition, even if you're going where you want to go. That's pretty much the thesis statement of both HOME and CREATURE as a pair, and I really hope you find some enjoyment, meaning, and maybe even comfort in them.

IVE I'VE Review
-- written April 10th, updated May 4th --
Tumblr media
-- image: NME --
First full length album by the Korean pop girl group IVE under Starship Entertainment. Many high expectations were set on this album considering it followed three “A/B” style single releases, Eleven, Love Dive, and After Like, which all topped charts. Love Dive even made #10 on the Global Billboard. 11 songs long, it was released April 10th 2023, with a single “Kitsch” pre-released on March 27th. The title track of this album is song 2, I AM.
This was written on the day of release, so I have no idea what will end up being popular, a fun game indeed. I’ve (haha no pun intended) listened to each song three times to give me a relatively good perspective on each. I’ll describe the song as I’m listening to it, give my thoughts, and rate it on a scale of 1-10. A 5 is completely neutral, no thoughts good or bad, with 1 and 10 being the worst and best possible songs to my taste. Take my rating with a grain of salt, and no hate please!
Blue Blood - 8/10
Update: 7/10. Less exciting throughout most of the song than it used to be.
Immediately this song demands attention. The dark synths and powerful drums remind me a little bit of Love Dive mixed with a bit of LION by (G)-IDLE. The simplistic but consistently driven feeling of this song is magnificent. I’m very happy to see how many lines are given to Gaeul. She may be my bias, but I really do think she is a talented vocalist, on top of her excellent dance. Whatever instrument is used in the post chorus is a really good choice and a very interesting sound. I love the almost south asian/middle eastern sound this group has on some of their releases. Sound quality on the vocals could be better. Love it overall though.
I AM - 6/10
Update: 7/10. I like this better. The chorus is fun.
Very different from the last. Keeps the synth and drum sound, but much more fun and dancey. It would be well described as bouncy. The vocal processing in the chorus is very pleasant, and the bass is smooth. I don’t love the sound of the vocals on the verses however. The “three” feel of this song feels quite repetitive so this song becomes very boring after a bit of hearing it. That said, the production is VERY powerful and it’s certainly a fun track.
Kitsch - 7/10
Update: 7/10. Not much changed.
The little whistle sound at the beginning is nice. Instantly the bass is infectious and I love the feel. It feels like a happy, laid-back Love Dive. Verses are excellent, in the vocals, production, instrumentation, mixing, everything. Pre-chorus is disappointing. Much more formulaic and the clap is not for me, however I do like the low synth sound a lot. If the pre-chorus didn’t hurt enough already the chorus of this song falls completely flat. It doesn’t fit the rest of the song well at all and the vocal lines are just not it, but the bass is very smooth. Post chorus I quite like. The rapping is decent and the bass is simply incredible. It really reminds me of Charli XCX. I love this song but the chorus just isn’t it.
Lips - 6/10
Update: 6/10 still. Nice.
Kiss Me More. Immediately. I’ll try to judge this as its own song, but it really is just a copy of Kiss Me More (Doja Cat and SZA). I like the guitar and percussion sounds in the background. They help to set the vibe. The vocals are nice in this track. The concept is a bit overdone though. Honestly I don’t have much more to say. It’s alright. Nothing too against it or for it aside from plagiarism.
Heroine - 9/10
Update: 7/10. Not as into this one now.
Oooooh this one is nice! The intro is quite soft and flowery. The synths sound excellent in this song. The reverbed vocals are beautiful. The chorus is nothing new, but has a nice feel. The post chorus on the other hand is infectious. The way this soft beautiful song drops into this bad*ss minor key with more reverbed vocals. Before you know it, it’s gone back to being soft and sweet. Toward the end of the song, we get more and more of this badass smooth dark feel. An ominous buildup and a little spoken word and we’re back into an extended version of the post chorus. I love this song overall.
Mine - 5/10
Update: 6/10. Production and mood is really nice.
Vocals are a bit breathy at the start, but the little sine synth is nice sounding and reminds me of BAYNK. Pre-chorus and chorus have so much energy! The sidechained distorted synth is incredible. Unfortunately what feels like a pre-chorus ends up fading into verse 2, making me think there is no real chorus. After verse 2, we get more of a formal pre-chorus which is absolutely beautifully done. The instrumentals here are so soft. It almost feels like a more electronic version of parts of Snail Mail’s Valentine, or some songs on Chloe Moriondo’s second record Blood Bunny. I’m a little disappointed by the fact that this song never really feels like it goes anywhere. The whole middle section of the song is excellent, but it just feels like one giant build up. Despite its good parts, I don’t love this song.
섬찟 (Hypnosis) - 5/10
Update: 6/10. Banger.
Wow this is different. But oh no. Oh no Ive. This is the second song on this album that is just brutal plagiarism. The vast majority of sounds, melodies, and vocal/rap lines in this song are literally just Ashnikko’s Daisy. The resemblance is SO strong. I would enjoy this more if it wasn’t a copy of another song, but I must say I do prefer this copy to the original. The production is much more solid and punchy. While it may lack some of the interesting melodic elements of Daisy, it hits harder. Around halfway into the song, the vibe totally switches and we get distant reverbed vocals (a common theme on this record), deep synth bass, and an old school drum ‘n’ bass beat. I prefer this to the main vibe of the song, but it turns back to the Daisy sound pretty quickly, but the song doesn’t end too fast for some incredible rapping to fit in the end. Like Lips, I think my opinion comes out net zero.
NOT YOUR GIRL - 3/10
Update: 6/10. This one really grew on me.
Initially it feels a little weak and circa 2010. The guitar and bass lines make it feel a bit cheesy. The pre-chorus turns it around however; The piano is powerful and the chords are smooth. The chorus combines the verse and the pre-chorus to form a sort of Twice-like feel good hook. Definitely big Twice vibes combined with some elements of classic early teens pop hits. I think it’s well done, it’s just not for me. I would be fine hearing it in a store or something, I just would rarely ever play it if I had the choice.
궁금해 (Next Page) - 9/10
Update: 9/10. Still love it.
This one is clean as fck. Love the relaxed Hip-Hop/R&B beat in the verse. It’s giving Red Velvet and Purple Kiss. The pre-chorus feels almost like a rap breakdown, but also building up. The chorus is nice, but it loses some of its ability to be effortlessly cool like in the verses. An example of a song which starts out as good as this but keeps it and builds on it in the chorus would be Day n Nite by Moon Sujin, if you know it. I’m definitely liking the fun vibe after the second chorus though. The synth stabs sound pretty awesome. Kind of like Love Dive (a 10/10), the beginning of this song is the best for me. The whole song has a sort of lush quality that I can’t get enough of though.
Cherish - 9/10
Update: 9/10. Still favorite on the album.
Another R&B bop! They’re really bringing the funk here. Sounds a lot like some of the more laidback stuff Le Sserafim has put out such as Impurities and Sour Grapes. Wonyoung’s little pre-chorus vocal line sounds so nice, and Gaeul and Leeseo work incredibly well together on the chorus. The synth stabs that come in are just so clean and classic. The background synths and piano in the end help tie the whole thing together and add sustenance to the beat. This one is certainly effortlessly cool, though it lacks a bit of the pure lushness of Next Page. It makes up for it with its undeniably infectious vibe. This song succeeds at what Next Page couldn’t: being cool as fck all the way through!
Shine With Me - 2/10
Update: 3/10. Production is decent.
Oh no, last song, these are rarely good. The little arrhythmic background synth at the beginning and the chimes are cool, but there isn’t much else. The vocals are very very autotuned. I think that they could’ve done much better with an end song. If you like this song, I totally respect that, but personally I do not like it. Listening to it three times has been a little difficult. I do think that on this song, and throughout the album, the instrumentals are incredible, it just does not tie together well at all.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this is an INCREDIBLE record. It’s very rare that I find a pop album that I like this many tracks of. I think that they could’ve done a bit better with a couple tracks, but even most of the ones I disliked are quality songs that could easily be loved by people who like different styles than I. When I saw that this had 11 tracks (reference to Eleven?) I was very worried many of them would be weak, but I was not disappointed in general.
I don’t want to give anything a 10 because I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I think that my favorite track on this album as of now is track 10, Cherish! This is a bit of an outlier, but it is just simply amazing. The production is amazing, and it really brings out the strengths of the three voices that generally are less strong, Leeseo, Gaeul and Wonyoung. Don’t fight me on Wonyoung, just an opinion. This track is effortless and amazing. If anything is a 10, it’s Cherish.
Thank you for reading this 1700 word beast of a review! Let me know what you think about this album.

Hi! I'm sorry I haven't replied! I just like to take my time thinking of a response. I hope that's okay! Aww don't work yourself too hard! I hope you're getting some rest and that your doctor's visits went well! That sounds like hell dealing with it. Ya I think I remember being awake almost 24 hours when Red TV released or close to it..haha. plus the album is so long! But anyway I would agree that Red is probably the best. Cuz Nothing New and ATW 10 are two of my favorite Taylor songs of all time! I didn't even like the original song as much as everyone else at all but the ten minute version means so much to me! The extra verses and outro adds so much. However I wasn't as impressed with Message in a Bottle and The Very First Night at first..but now I like them. Forever Winter is one of my favorites too. When I heard the Speak Now vault for the first time, it felt like I loved more of the songs instantly but then maybe they're not as good as I thought now..but they were all pretty equal hearing them in a row and I still like them a lot. I'm wondering what it will be for the 1989 vault..maybe a mix since it was never my favorite, or maybe the same..cuz there's only 5 songs but I'm so excited to see. I still have some left over from my concert I plan on wearing and that's good enough but I admire how many you've made. That's so awesome. I'm planning to watch both I think so I can tell you how it is if you want. It's exciting that you have things coming up though! When is your birthday? I love knowing other people's birthdays.
Idk if I had a favorite show to act in but I had the biggest part in Seussical as Yertle the turtle. But I didn't like it cuz I had to wear a wig. But my favorites overall are Charlie and Alice based on the stories. Unfortunately I can hardly remember any of the songs though but maybe from Seussical. So you were never in any musicals? Where does your love of theatre come from? I'm curious cuz no one elsein my family besides my sister likes it really and they don't know anything about Broadway. That's also why I liked Theater Camp cuz it showed the perspective of her son not liking theater lol and it reminded me of my brother. I wonder if people who don't like theater would still like it but then I feel like they wouldn't get all the jokes or references.
So I actually think the Gatsby musical seems pretty good..better than I expected based on what other people said. There's three videos I saw and I agree maybe that the opening number could be better..it did not really match Gatsby vibes to me so far though. It did show Nick halfway through at least. I still don't know how I feel about the casting though. Maybe it's cuz I have seen the actors in other things so it's pretty hard so far and they weren't in costume and that might help. I think the choreography was at least good. The second video was Daisy's solo and it was short but showcased Eva's vocals and it almost reminded me of her in Miss Saigon. This song references the beautiful fool line. The third was their duet song which references the green light. Honestly I am only vaguely familiar with Gatsby from the movie, and it just reminded me of Happiness lyrics lol. The duet actually kinda reminded me of Something to Believe in from Newsies but I think it's just a me problem and cuz he was in Newsies. That also might be why I can't picture him as Gatsby yet. I guess the music was okay but it didn't wow me or anything and just wasn't like Gatsby. Someone made a comment that said they're trying too much to make it a love story and that might be a problem. I think the Florence version might do something different to that and I'd be interested to see how. I would wanna see what a song from Nick will be like. But I still have hope for it by the time it gets to Broadway and still love the cast but the comparisons might make it worse..but then hopefully you'll at least enjoy one of them!!! I'd like to know your thoughts on the rest and if you still don't like it, that's fine, but overall I still thought the cast was good.
That's cool you're going to see the Band's visit! It's another smaller show I love. I'm sure it will be great along with seeing Hadestown. I read a rumor on Reddit that his replacement will be Jordan Fisher but idk how true that is and how he would be. I think Reeve had a specific voice to the character like in Wait For Me or the ahhs but I enjoyed the tour as well. The Orpheus I saw had a smoother voice and was also black..so maybe it will be similar to that and I think I would still wanna see how he sang the role. What do you think about that? I am also still planning on seeing the Les Mis tour in two weeks hopefully and I will update you! So it will be the eras tour next week, then Les Mis and then 1989 TV!!! I guess it's a pretty big month for me haha.
Well I still thought Our Year of Maybe was good..I liked the writing and story at first but by the end I just wasn't sure how I felt about it. I still liked some parts of it. The book is about a girl that donated a kidney to her best friend she is also in love with and how their relationship changed cuz of it. I I still thought it was interesting but idk if I would still recommend and I think she has better books. Apparently she announced a Today Tonight Tomorrow sequel! There seems to be a lot of sequels in books now and I will put For the Throne on my list too. This book has been on my list forever so I'll have to finish it by then. I also think this is the first book of hers that I was familiar with and I think I'll like it more. I read the first few chapters before and remember relating to the main character loving romance so I'm excited. But I'm still planning to read You'll Miss me when I'm gone first and finish Business or Pleasure. I do plan on reading all her books eventually though and I will let you know how You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone is. How do you feel about the sequel since I think you said it's one of your favorites? I thought I should let you know in case you didn't. Anyway I will finish Some Mistakes Were Made by tomorrow and let you know my thoughts. I know you said there's no pressure but I'm gonna make time tonight..I think I only have 5 chapters left. Then if you are still planning to read The Night Circus again..I can start that for this month as well. I am planning to finish more books this month. Also I would love the Taylor songs books list! I saw there is one called Enchanted to Meet you recently that matches the witch prompt so I might add it to my list but don't know many others. I hope I didn't forget anything but as always don't worry about replying if you're not feeling well! Although I hope you continue feeling better like you said you were starting to. 🩷
hi!! no worries for taking your time replying 🤍 i hope you had a great weekend!
my week of doctor's visits are now over, and now i have to wait for results and then maybe we'll get some answers (or not)! but i'm feeling much better already now. nothing new is so so good; i do like all too well 10, but i think i listened to it way too much when it first came out that now i have to be in a really specific mood to listen to it (also it's just long), but the lyrics are so good! i really like message in a bottle, and the very first night too! i think my favorite vault tracks from red are forever winter + nothing new, and then maybe message in a bottle since that was one of my surprise songs! i think my favorite fearless vaults are that's when, and we were happy, and then timeless and foolish one from the speak now vault! i've made about 62 bracelets now (my original goal was 40), but i think i'm going to aim for ~ 75 by friday, and then take about 50 to the movie on friday (so my friend can have half to trade too), and then the rest on sunday! my birthday is december 16th! when's your birthday? 🤍
i actually don't know seussical that well, but i feel like everyone who has been in a production of seussical loved it. and yes, i was never in any musicals! but i love theatre, and grew up going to shows — i also think that it helps a lot that i was named after cosette in les mis! my mom and i would go to a show every year once we moved to the states (we saw a few shows in hong kong, but tours don't go there as often). the first show i really vividly remember seeing is phantom, when they were in hong kong, but that was the third musical i'd seen! i also wondered that when watching theatre camp, but am unsure if how many non-theatre people would watch it! (i did spend a good chunk of the movie wondering who was linked to waitress, because someone sang a bit of when he sees me for their "audition", and then there was the waitress poster + playbill in several scenes, then was like hmm noah galvin was ogie but that doesn't feel right, then went maybe just ben platt, and then remembered who molly gordon's mom is haha).
i read gatsby in high school (read: i lived and breathed it for a few months because i had a big presentation + paper on gatsby)! i want to reread it and re-annotate it now, as an adult (like ten years since i first read it 😵‍💫) he really doesn't feel like gatsby to me, but we'll see if he grows into the role? i just think there were a lot of ... choices made ! but either way, i was always more excited about the florence one so here's hoping that one is good!!
wait i didn't know about the t3 sequel omg!!! that's so exciting! i really liked t3, it's very much like a ~ love letter ~ to seattle and makes me feel so so nostalgic for my own high school experience (well, more specifically, we had a celebration after graduation and i got really close with someone who is now one of my best friends, at that celebration. not as fun as howl, but still very special to me!) and yes!! still down to read the night circus! waiting on my friend to send me the copy she annotated for traveling book club, but if you want to start that i can catch up whenever it gets here!
i saw enchanted to meet you the other day at the bookstore — you'll have to let me know how it is! i really liked meg cabot's the princess diaries (which i adoreeeed as a kid)! and off the top of my head (i'm sure there's a lot of them that i'm missing, especially self-pub/indie books) here are some books named after taylor songs (i haven't read all of them):
this is me trying by racquel marie
begin again by emma lord
long story short by serena kaylor
never getting back together by sophie gonzalez
don't want you like a best friend by emma r. alban
call it what you want by brigid kemmerer
never saw you coming by erin hahn
hope you have a great week!! 🤍
