In general, Hellsing 2001 is a poor adaptation, only really covering a few chapters before veering off and ending suddenly. But there is one choice they made that has always put it on equal ground to Ultimate for me.
In the first episode when the vampire priest has Seras hostage, Alucard asks her if she wants to come with him. He gives her a choice, and only pulls the trigger when she says yes.
Instead of a victim thrust into this insane world, Seras saw horror and decided to join it. And it lends itself well to the characterisation of Alucard that we see more of in his fights with Anderson, that at the core of his being is loneliness.
Maybe he would have pulled the trigger anyway, 2001 Alucard isn’t all that much different from the original series, but it certainly casts his choice to turn Seras in a different light. Makes you wonder what’s really behind those sunglasses.
I find it hard to put into words which is why I’m rambling, they are still the same characters, just minutely, but fundamentally, different. Just a few degrees off in a way I found so compelling.
It’s such a small change but it adds this layer of nuance to both Seras and Alucard that neither the manga or Ultimate has, and it makes me so sad the series never got to grow beyond 13 episodes.

Prince and the Revolution - Raspberry Beret 1985
"Raspberry Beret" is a song written by American musician Prince and was the lead single from Prince & the Revolution's 1985 album Around the World in a Day. The Revolution is a band formed in 1979 by Prince, serving as his live band and later as his studio band. Their sound incorporated rock, pop, R&B, funk, new wave and psychedelic elements. Along with Prince's other projects, the Revolution helped create the Minneapolis sound. By the time of their 1986 breakup, the Revolution had backed Prince on two studio albums, two soundtracks and two videos. Around the World in a Day is the seventh studio album by Prince, and the second release on which the Revolution is billed.
The sound of "Raspberry Beret" expanded upon previous Prince arrangements, incorporating stringed instruments, Middle Eastern finger cymbals, and a harmonica in the extended version. The song was also more in the pop vein than before, though the 12-inch single and video of the song feature a funky intro. The song hit number one in Cash Box and reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 (behind "A View to a Kill" by Duran Duran), but only reached number 25 on the UK Singles Chart. Following Prince's death, "Raspberry Beret" re-charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 33. The music video was directed primarily by Prince, with animation created by Colossal Pictures co-founder Drew Takahashi.
"Raspberry Beret" received a total of 72,9% yes votes!

『Personal Review 〜 One of the best UKGK fangames. The music is good, the graphics are correct with cute pixelated sprites and portraits of each character who are all voiced. The lockable characters makes the game somewhat replayable, new enemies are introduced with as the player progresses through the game and all the bosses have different attacks and mechanics, making each level unique and offering a bit of a challenge. The animated intro and song is the cherry on top.』
