Viva Piñata art dump

Viva Piñata was my favorite game when I was younger and it influenced my style heavily throughout the years but I've noticed it's like really niche? I haven't seen a lot of people talking about it which is a shame since the whole series is absolutely adorable. So I'm spreading the word myself with some funky doodles

Aaaaanother TGAA SwapAU stuff and it is my wonderful boy Albert as the prosecutor!!

I've changed some of the designs in this one like the jacket color to white to make a resemblance of a lab coat and reflecting of Kazuma white school uniform, as well trying to bring more Frankenstein's Monster vibe too hehe (aaand make him look more miserable too). He is also have a locket that have a painting of him and his two brothers, it was given by Andrew during his wedding!

I also made bunch of character that related to Swap!Albert's life from 10 years ago, like Andrew(Klint's roleswap) and his other brother Michael, university Barok and Albert, etc. more info about the are there down below 👇👇

First of I wanted to say I'm sorry I can't do full render of everyone here, do that with all of them would be death sentence for me so I couldn't do it 😭😭 Anyway without further ado, I'm going right into it! Start from left to right!

This first one Ryunosuke father replacing as Genshin Asogi. At first while brainstorming I was thinking of maybe do three switch around with Genshin, Jigoku, and Yujin but the it somehow felt weird for me. Then the thought of maybe involving Auchi in this too (like, imagine him being swap with Jigoku wouldn't that be funny and terrifying thought), but discarded that idea out because of Menimemo would have no one to swap with (i have to i'm sorry). Sooo I ended just design him from scratch, he is quite easy to figure out since Genshin doesn't really have much going on with him, but since we don't have any idea of original Ryunosuke's parents at all I have to take idea from something else, and that is his daruma doll for his eyes (he is half blind!! :D) and Phoenix DD/SOJ design (droopy hair and light vest) and everything else is from Genshin. His name is Ryuuki Naruhodo since Ryunosuke is another name for Ryuichi so I want to keep the train going!!

Andrew the screwdriver, oh I missed him- Anyway, I redesign his outfit because tbh his previous outfit is ridiculous 😭 it's funny and fun but I do want to take him seriously now. I'm tried to keep the A shape still but it's less subtle now, I think it turned out okay!! (Oh yeah, his cane is supposed to be a hidden sword but i forgot to put that in the drawing 😭). I was supposed to make his bowtie red like the hair tie but then I realized it will getting rid of the purpose of the hair tie (it referencing the blood on the tip of the screwdriver) so I ended up making it color silver.

The Lady Baskerville, I gave her similar design to Sunny(Herlock!Swap) with the bowtie, color palette to his mascot, and hair on her. I'm not really quite fond with her design, maybe I'll do redesign her again if I got a idea pop up like crazy but in the meantime this is her design.

Guess who is this?? Another one of Albert's tool is here finally!! Michael the crosshead screwdriver! Since we never see Michael anywhere and only mentioned once in the game he is, I'm just draw simple design for him (I wished I could put M shape in the design but I have no idea WHERE to put it 😭 so I tried used the bowtie for it). I also thought it would be nice to make him a defense attorney so I made the design for the badge too. Since he is sadly not going to be mentioned a lot in this AU since I'm trying to make the storyline same as the original, so I made a backstory of what happened in the fun fact tags. There was supposed to be more tool to be added but my god that would be taxing to design, so I have to make only Andrew and Michael as his only siblings.

The doggie Balmung replacement, Bolt, He is a Irish Setter! Beforehand he was supposed to be Borzoi but then research the background of the breed I don't how difficult it is to actually get one in that era so I have to changed breed :((

Albert and Barok in university days!! I just keep same as before like previous design!! There's a tiny change like the hair and the neckties.

i think part of why matt is underestimated in the house is ableism straight up. he was clearly overwhelmed the first two to three weeks and trying to adjust to being around so many people, to get comfortable asking people to repeat things and get used to people’s quirks when they speak, and over the weeks people have been taking him into account more (purposefully sitting where he can see their face, asking him if he understands, getting his attention when a group chat is happening & he looks spaced out, etc) so game talk has gotten easier, but at the same time, the image of him being like, overwhelmed and helpless, has stayed in a lot of people’s minds.

and tbh he’s clearly played that up which is smart! he definitely plays into his silly side & he says stupid shit like “a fun fact about me is i’m deaf” lol, and meanwhile people spill game info to him all the time bc he’s just silly matt, never mind he’s the best rat in the house! it’s interesting to watch him take his disability and the unfair way it’s been handled by production and even house guests and then use it to his advantage in the game.

Not to keep reminiscing about when I was more abled but man what I'd give to be thinly slicing garlic, onion, tomatoes, throw them in a pot with ghee on medium-high until the onions are translucent and yellowed but not caramelized, and chop some carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, mushrooms, throw them in with some peas and corn and let those cook, mince a green chili pepper, cilantro, and ginger and lime zest, add bit of tomato sauce, then about 4 cups of stock and simmer it on low adding lime juice, a couple of prunes (trust me on this), seasoning it with cumin, cardamom, salt, cinnamon, clove, turmeric, curry powder (most of these spices are in curry powder it's more of a ratio thing), and peppercorn, and then let that bitch simmer for an hour or two until I have curry and throw some naan in a pan with butter, maybe pan fry some okra and make a side of chana masala or dal. No pre packaged meal beats that yknow?

One thing I really don’t like about the pjo show is they are very tell not show about EVERYTHING. One thing I loved from the books is them teasing who the monster or god they were meeting was and getting the chance to pull from prior Greek mythology knowledge and figure it out myself. It was like a game and, yeah, most of the time it was someone new and I couldn’t guess but it was still fun having a tease up until a reveal and THEN they would share the story for those who didn’t know. The show just keeps straight up telling the audience who everyone is and instead of unknowingly walking into a trap and building suspense they go in expecting something to happen and then have a less exciting trap happen later (Medusa and the Lotus Hotel being the main ones). It’s like they both want to cut the teasing because the book readers already know and want to explain things simply to show watchers who probably aren’t well versed in Greek mythology but it takes all the whimsy away. One part I loved in the Lotus scenes in the book was Percy figuring out that they were in a time warp because he meets the kid from the 1970s and realizes what’s going on but in the show he notices cuz it’s…dark outside? Like yeah okay it works but going “it’s dark outside even tho it feels like it’s been 20 minutes and that means we are in a time warp and oh yeah the flowers are in the air even tho I’ve given no reason prior to have figured that out” is not NEARLY as compelling as “I lost track of time cuz I was having fun but huh this guy I’m playing with talks weird and dresses weird and oh boy he’s from the 1970s and now that I’m pulled out enough to look around I see that everyone here is wearing period clothes and this is trouble”. I know the extras were wearing period clothes but it never cuts to them long enough to make it seem like it’s anything but a costume that would be typical in a Vegas casino. You can argue that the Hermes scene wasn’t pointless but aside from Grover’s scenes to an extent it just wasn’t compelling and not just in an inaccurate adaptation way

Ch. 374 Leaks

So, I guess Hori is going to paint Hawks as bad for killing Twice now...

First of all it’s a little to late for that. After Twice was killed Hawks wasn’t framed as a bad person for doing so. As much as people say that him getting off scot-free during the press conference is supposed to be another failure of Hero Society, it wasn’t framed that way what-so-ever. It was framed as Enji and the rest of them trying to step up and do the best they could. It wasn’t sinister at all and zero people ever showed any hesitance over what he had done. This makes you think the plot was either dropped or that it was a sad but necessary thing.

Second of all Twice coming back to fuck over the Heroes isn’t a direct consequence of him being killed. Twice would have been on AfO’s side regardless of Hawks killing him or not--he made that perfectly clear when they fought the first time and with his actions during the MVA arc. Hori is passing it off as ‘see, you shouldn't have killed Twice because now he’s going to fuck things up’, but that only works if Hawks not killing him would have caused a different outcome, which from everything we’ve been shown wouldn't have been the case. Hori easily could have set it up to work that way but he didn’t.

Twice was never going to not follow his friends and do whatever they told him to do. He was devoted to them fully and nothing would have deterred him to our knowledge. Twice was never upset with all the killing they did and how much further Shigaraki wanted to go. He was fine with going after and possibly killing teenagers right out the gate because the only thing that mattered to him was that the LoV liked him and they were his friends. 

If Hawks hadn’t killed him Twice would have either escaped with the LoV and used his duplicate to help over run the city and kill as many people as possible (as we saw him do in Deika), or been arrested and given how Kurogiri was just sprung, probably ended up on the battle field again anyway. Hawks killing or not killing Twice has zero effect--he’d be here fighting the Heroes anyway. It’s not a fitting punishment for Hawks that he’s back because his actions wouldn't have changed this scenario either way. Twice was always going to duplicate himself or his allies and try and murder as many people as possible because his ‘family’ told him to. 

On top of that Hawks is, I guess, supposed to be wrong for wanting to kill Twice again, but like I said above the writing undermines this message. We have never seen someone talk down a villain with success ever. Not even Stain stuck around to actually help out, he just gave All Might a letter, cheered him up and fucked off (plus it wasn’t even useful in the long run anyway). Hawks is the only Hero who even tried to talk a villain. Sure, it wasn’t the best, but it was better then just sticking a knife in his back and calling it a day. If Hori wanted the killing Twice option to be so clearly wrong, he shouldn’t have had Hawks bother to try talking to Twice at all. Now both options look like failures and that neither would work, yet only one is suddenly the wrong choice. 

The whole thing is so disappointing because there was a way this plot could have worked but Hori never pulled it of. He just couldn’t have Hawks kill Twice in cold blood, nor could he have Twice (or any of the other LoV members for that matter) show any concern or displeasure at the extreme methods they were being asked to do. Yet, despite not doing those things in the story, Hori is still pushing Hawks’ actions as wrong now. If he was going to do that Hori shouldn't have chickened out and just have made Hawks completely in the wrong to begin with.

one thing that makes me mad as a hornet is whenever I pick up a detective book especially if it’s in a series and I go to goodreads and see a slew of negative reviews becos inevitably I can tell you the tenor of it without even looking. “SHERLOCK HOLMES RIP-OFF” they all scream.

I’ve picked up two detective series recently (the gower street detectives, barker & llewelyn) and we are two for two with people gnashing their teeth over it. Sherlock Holmes isn’t the only detective? Hello?? I guarantee if Agatha Christie was a writer now and published her first Poirot story TODAY, people would be gnashing their teeth and growling about how it’s just a flimsy SHERLOCK HOLMES RIP-OFF.

After Emmett graduated high school and moved off to begin his academic career at Berkeley (from which he would eventually transfer to CalTech), he really did not speak to his father.

He kept up correspondence with his mum, Sarah, during his time at university, filling her in on his academic pursuits and the occasional research project he was working on because she was genuinely interested and supported his decisions to go into the sciences. Sarah, a lover of science-fiction works herself, was proud of her son for everything he was doing.

Emmett told her of his graduation—only she attended the ceremony while Erhardt refused—of his job teaching immediately post-graduation, where he'd be able to use academia to his advantage to continue his research, and of his eventual acceptance onto the Manhattan Project.

Though Sarah and Erhardt's relationship was already extremely rocky by that time, nearing its breaking point, she still made a point of keeping him abreast of their son's current pursuits. It wasn't until after the bombs were dropped in '45 that Erhardt displayed even the smallest amount of respect for his kid as a scientist because of the actual, practical use his work had in winning the worst war the world had ever seen.

That was something to show some pride in.

It's also fascinating for his father to have hated science so much given the fact that the Progressive Era highlighted the importance and value of science and much of society supported it, especially with World War I, given the fact that science and technology went hand-in-hand.

But then again, post WWI, the general public/lay person opinions on science changed, especially given the fact that scientists weren't as public at that time and the media played a big part in polarising a lot of the population against reputable science; they started commenting—incorrectly—on scientific matters, making things worse. They weren't trained. They were opinionated. Misinformation, confusion and scientific illiteracy was rampant.

The post WWI era was also a tumultuous time for the people as a whole because the times were changing, culture was evolving, there were sparks and flares coming up between returning to the normal post-war situation and adjusting to what was the new modern. Old values vs new shifting ones.

Arguably, science vs religion. And while nether Erhardt nor Emmett were profoundly religious men (though Emmett to some degree is religious, but in his own unique way)

Then you have science evolving, becoming more focused, complex, specialised, and it becomes even more complex.

But in the wake of that, the Scopes Trial of 1925, people criticising and vilifying Einstein and his theories of relativity, radical newsprint headlines and science seeming like little more than a gimmick, a joke, naturally science would seem like a foolish pursuit, a waste of time, a flight of fancy for idiots and nothing more.

Young Emmett was absolutely in support of Einstein the moment he'd first heard about his theories.

Erhardt would in no way support this, not when there was a perfectly respectable, reputable position within the courthouse, following the letter of the law. Lawyers were necessary. Judges, even more so, as they maintained order, unlike the chaos and bedlam that seemed to be surrounding science.

Oh yeah also to be exact for stream purposes, average playtime from all 60 reviews is 10-12 hours, but total range is 8-15, double for a 100% playthrough. You do have to progress in the side content to progress in the main story (complete x missions/get x points/get to x rank type of deal), and you'll probably want to progress in the side content to level up since it's money-based and that's the fastest way to make money. I'm pretty sure the variance comes from getting sucked into the side content (probably not likely for your playstyle) or having trouble with the bosses at a lower level (they're apparently pretty hard this time).

It also looks like the Infinite Wealth demo is split into two (an adventure mode with the extra cutscenes and another one that's basically the demo we've seen around). Adventure mode Allegedly doesn't have proper saves at the time of writing (this was an annoyance for one reviewer so I assume it's long enough to warrant that), so it's worth taking that into account too. Anyway that's about it lol don't quote me on any of this because my brain just shut off after a certain point <3

going from 4:30PM -> 3:45AM's like.....10~11 hours... so that's about halfway through the game if i get entranced by side content... if we do somehow finish it all in one shot then we can just do the IW stuff after my routine.. epic.. it prob wont be any longer than an hour if that so stream- AUSPICIOUSLY THINKING- should wrap up around 7~9AM saturday.
