hello i am doing physically well and mentally... im alive! brain still beeping! but. yes. my dnd characters. :]

i honestly have not been playing dnd. often? as a player? but my absolute beloveds in terms of pcs will forever be

cupid (she/they i think)! tiefling monk (way of the long death), i played her in a high level oneshot and she's... such a gaslight gatekeep girlboss. she's very bubbly and Your Aunt From New Jersey, and also is obsessed with putting mortal bodies to their limit and is curious to the point of literally killing people. she's not quite good in a fight (yes i made a monk no i dont know how to make monks) but gd shes fun to rp. s/o to this wild grandma who Will Not Die despite every bit of the universe going for it. (really- she did not have a lot of hp. its a miracle she survived.) oh also shes. shes done so much crime. so much crime.

del carver (they/them) was a human ranger i played for a no-magic tma inspired campaign, they're a Literal Child who watched their farm and grandma get taken over by magic rot, and theyre... so soo not okay about it. they, at last session, had... a horse, a spooky bug, and a guinea pig named annelid. animal nerd (affectionate and beloved). del is a very fun character to play as theyre simultaneously very suspicious of people but also cannot be alone, so their relationships with others are odd. also, they're weirdly proficient with violence? (that might just be the barbarian/dps in me tho). overall, i love this tired child who is just soooo rude. get some rest tall child.

soura kit: a kobold rogue (they/he), peddler of Information and low charisma Speed Talker extrordinare. they're an older teen, raised in a cabaret troupe, who is very good at getting into things. ie, they're one hell of a troublemaker. he's very bad at impulse control and sitting still but they do genuinely care about what he's doing... sometimes he just doesnt realize. what they're doing. soura, for me, is an exploration of an adventurer with a happy, living family, and (and idk if ive shared this with my fellow players?) they. do not kill sentient beings. if they can help it. so that'll be fun! but for now, they're just telling stories about all the things theyve overheard about the world (problem: you have a 5 yr old who grew up in a bar with v high int. solution: they overheard a Lot of stories and can recount them). my beloved lizard and their horrible little ideas.

also, as a treat, some of my npcs but described only in a sentence. Spiderweb, they/it (firbolg dhampir hexblade makes bad decisions, owes a life debt, now a bodyguard to the worst (now dead) woman in the world) Cassiopia Zyphon, she/her (kalashtar druid (stars), aformentioned worst woman, trained in the art of having no idea how to trust and let people in, responds to intimacy with assassination attempts, her house is a nightmare). Synne, she/her (ghost paladin, presently possessed by forces of chaos outside her control seeking to destroy the pcs, but in life she was a folk hero who saved an island from a storm, which killed her (also her wife is cool and i wish i remembered more abt her but it was like a full year ago)).

In our recent session, Level six students presented the symposium, Laid Bare. Covering topics of feminism, death, impressionism and drugs in art I gathered a wide oversight into the various areas. In particular, student Lauren Souras’ presentation of “Ira Cohen: Into the Mylar Chamber” interested me, outlining his photography work using sheets of mylar to create distortion of space and colour. I had never heard of mylar before, so I was interested by its plastic form in relation to photography. Instantly, I was attracted to Cohen’s psychedelic work and visually encompassing perception of colour in an almost transcending presentation. The bending of light and colour allow for a never-ending visual experience. Visual distortion and the translation of the mind into art has always interested me as I admire artists that consider beyond the popular mediums and subject matters. Pushing the boundaries of both the mind and visual persona evokes thought and discovery for both the artist and viewer. Ultimately, allowing us to discover concepts or visuals which we may never have experienced before.

One particular work of Cohen’s Lauren focused on was Reflections, 1968, a portrait of Jimi Hendrix. The use of mylar allows for the bending and fluid movement of colour and light described by Hendrix as, “looking through butterfly wings.” (Hendrix,1969) There may be hints to hallucinogens within Cohen’s work with the rise of LSD within pop culture creating a new experience for the mind. The depiction of hallucinogens within art is something I find interesting as Cohen transforms a multidimensional image created by the mind into a physical form. By experiencing something unique every time it provides artists with never ending ideas. Psychedelic art is not something I would say defines contemporary art however, it provides inspiration and creates euphoria experiences personal to each viewer pushing the boundaries of art.

Ahmed Soura (Ahmed Bill Faso)

de Sherif Awad Bonjour! Je suis Ahmed Soura alias Ahmed Bill Faso, Artiste Chorégraphique et PDG de YONGONLON production... Mon passé est rempli de tristesses, de joies et de défis. Ma propre famille (père, mère et mes petits frères) ne vivent plus. Ils sont tous décédés. Par contre j'ai de super oncles, tantes, cousins et ma petite famille qui ont su m'apporter l'amour et le courage d'être là où je suis aujourd'hui.  J'ai rencontré la danse par hasard à la télévision quand j'avais 10 ans et cette passion est née en moi.  -Quand j'étais enfant et à l'adolescence j'aimais regarder des films d'action tel que Rambo et tous les films de Jet Lee (acteur). Pour la danse c'était Michael Jackson et MC Hammer qui m'ont donnés le coût de la chorégraphie et j'ai commencé à chorégraphier des pièces de danse au lycée pour des compétitions de danse à Banfora, Burkina Faso.  -Il est super important d'aller à l'école des arts pour devenir artistes si on veut que ce métier soit respecté comme les autres métiers. Il n'y a pas de docteur ni de pilote autodidacte.  -Même si je ne suis pas totalement satisfait de mes revenus, je reste satisfait de mon parcours de danseur chorégraphe et aujourd'hui je suis producteur d'artistes avec ma structure YONGONLON PRODUCTION basé à Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.  -Atteindre la célébrité dans le monde entier n'est pas une fin en soi. Réussir son parcours artistique et vivre de son art est le plus important pour moi.  -Oui, surtout avec cette pandémie tous les théâtres et festivals sont annulés et c'est la survie totale pour les artistes dans le monde. Mon plus grand défi actuellement c'est de construire mon centre interculturel YONGONLON à Banfora ma ville natale. Je rêve de construire un théâtre dans chaque pays Africain afin de promouvoir les tournées et rencontres artistiques entre les 54pays d'Afrique.  -Dans mon pays natal qui est le Burkina Faso, je tiens à remercier le gouvernement pour ses efforts multiples. Un chapeau à notre ministre de la culture et au bureau des droits d'auteur qui se battent pour améliorer les conditions de vie des artistes Burkinabé. Pour mon pays d'accueil qui est l'Allemagne la situation des artistes est très handicapée par le COVID-19. Beaucoup de fonds d'appui sont mis en place pour soutenir les artistes. Cela crée un grand soulagement des artistes.  -Pour la musique, j'enregistre d'abord ma voix dans mon dictaphone et après je l'écris pour enregistrer après en studio. Mes inspirations arrivent quand je suis dans l'avion, dans le bus, dans train, en randonnée et même sur ma moto en pleine circulation. Je descends de ma moto j'enregistre ma voix et après je continue.  Pour la chorégraphie, j'écris mes idées et je me documente à la maison puis je fais mes recherches en studio de danse, en plein air ou dans le métro si c'est après 00 h 00. -Je prends chaque opportunité comme la dernière et je m'engage à fond pour la réussite de chaque création artistique.  -Actuellement je suis dans des recherches de fonds pour une nouvelle création de danse contemporaine, je suis à la création de mon association à Berlin, je suis à la recherche de partenaires / fonds pour la construction de mon centre interculturel YONGONLON à Banfora, je travaille avec le bureau de ma structure de YONGONLON pour la sortie du nouveau clip de mon artiste TABALI LA MERVEILLE. Il il y a un concert prévu pour le 17 juillet 2021 au CENASA Burkina Faso pour Tabali La Merveille.
