So much to pack, so little time. I can’t believe I move in to my dorm on Wednesday! It is so exciting. Here I just made a list of things I still have not packed. (Lefty Hack: Use notepads with spiral binding that’s at the top of the page, so you are free from excruciating pain.) When do you move in? If you’ve already done this before, what’s your Move In Day advice?

Handwriting Tag!

Got inspired by @studyoutline ‘s post on Instagram. I am Left Handed, so I do tend to write my letters differently during the process, but I think they look pretty normal for the most part. Fun Fact: I don’t know cursive. Proper cursive, that is. I moved to a new school 4th grade and they had already taught it, so no one bothered to catch me up. But oh well :)

Organization Game Plan

Hey guys today I thought I’d share how I plan on staying organized this year.

1. I have this Storage Clipboard from Staples that I will keep my loose paper in. When I need to take notes, I’ll take out a few sheets and clip them to the front so I can easily write my notes. I prefer this over spiral notebooks because I am lefthanded and I often have to choose between writing my notes fast and getting all of my information or NOT scraping my hand on the metal rings. This file folder will be for thing that I need to hand into my professors that day, so I can keep all of my completed assignments in one place.

2. I have a Staples Binder and a Five Star Flex Notebook to keep my notes and handouts from my classes. The Notebook will be for my MWF classes, since I only have two. And the Binder will be for my TR (Tuesday/Thursday) classes since I have three on those days.

3. This is the Blue Sky Planner. I got mine from Walmart and I really like it. Each planner they have is unique on the inside (Example: Ruled vs. Unruled) so there is bound to be one that fits your needs. I prefer to use Academic Planners because at this age, my life revolves around school. I know I said I don’t like spirals, but I don’t mind it here since they are smaller and I am not pressed for time when using my planner.

Happy Left Handers Day!

Oh, and Welcome to my blog! As a left handed student, I often feel alone in my school struggles. Whether it be battling a spiral notebook or smudging my ink all across my timed essay; I hope this blog can serve as an outlet for left handed students to share their frustrations and how they’ve overcome them.

This is my Faith journal. I use it to Worship the Lord and just reflect on my day and thank God for all of his amazing gifts. If I’m being honest, I have not written in this since late July. But I need to. No matter what you believe, it’s always good to keep a journal to destress and just get your unedited thoughts out. This journal was a graduation gift so I can’t put a link to it, but ANY notebook will do. Happy Journaling!

Let’s just discuss the elephant in the room. Or rather, the squirrel on your feed. I bought this notebook in Nebraska the summer of 2018. I was at the international thespian convention where I was auditioning for colleges and their theatre programs. If you swipe, you can see a list of universities that interested me, and that were interested in ME. This isn’t a full list, but these were the ones I was most intrigued by. I didn’t apply to ALL of these schools. I applied to 7. I was accepted into 6 and waitlisted from 1. That school was my second choice. I heard from that before I heard back from my top school, and was so worried I wouldn’t get in. But in 24 hours, I’ll be in the dorm of my Dream School. Tip: NEVER give up. There is always a plan, but it may not be created BY you. That’s because it was created FOR you. Trust it.

Tip: NEVER stop applying for scholarships!

I just found out that I am a recipient of a scholarship offered by my community! This is such a blessing for my family and I. Recently, one of my parents was injured and the medical bills have really brought me to question the act of going to college. But this really does help remind me that I am on the right path. The amount will cover my tuition for my Spring Semester. I am beyond thankful, so I’ll be finishing up one of these cute thank you note cards I bought from Half Price Books!

Expectation VS. Reality as a lefty! I LOVE my University Library. Are these desks not the COOLEST thing!?! Today was the FDOC (First Day Of Class) and I had a good time in Communication and in Spanish. Storytime. I mom now In a class that’s 2 levels above what I placed into originally. Will I minor in Spanish?! I’ll keep you updated! I hope to be back with more content soon but please understand I’m getting into the swing of things.
