back at it again with hero redesigns + mock comic covers!

i know Craig & Tweek's hero names are spoofing Superman and Wonder Woman but as a Comic Nerd™️ myself they always remind ME more of Superboy & Wonder Girl so this is based on an Adventure Comics cover of those two & they were the main influence for the design tweaks i made <3

third of all, a lil looksie at my design sketch (mostly bc tweek's shirt is pretty covered in the actual thing lmao). i didn't bother coloring craig in because well i had a solid idea of what i was doing with the colors and didn't need to plan them as much

then FOURTH of all (so many alls) a fun lil fact is that several years back i had done SC & WT redesigns based on Kon & Cassie (older looks of theirs than the ones above, the above are based on like 2010-2013 stuff, the below are based on 90's stuff) which i don't think ever made it out of discord, so here's that hehe:

Hobie can and will carry his friends around when they’re walking slow as hell/getting distracted and he really doesn’t feel like being patient. Gwen in one arm and Miles in the other with Pavitr standing horizontal on his back, Hobie has places to be and he isn’t letting them stop him. He’s hardly ever on time to anything, so the things he wants to be on time for are very important to him.

Patrick’s cover album is needed ASAP!!!! My fave cover of his would be also one of Prince, search nothing compares 2 you, from 2011, live performance obviously, this little man sung his entire heart out!! All of it is good, and if you laid it on a hiatus canvas it gets this extra meaning if you know what I mean 👀👀👀

oh, anon. i know exactly what you are talking about, and i am VERY keen on what you're suggesting here...

for reference, this is what anon is referring to:

patrick covered this often during his soul punk tour, and...hell yeah, anon. tiny man IS singing his heart out! if i'm being honest, though, it's actually a bit tough to watch. patrick is a master of channeling strong emotion into his singing, but...damn...there is some real, palpable pain there. it's heartbreaking.

to compare, here's patrick singing it during a medley last year:

this version (to me at least) sounds lovely...almost sweet. there's a fondness behind his tone instead of anguish.

it's similar to how he sounds when he sings "headfirst slide..." now vs. folie days. there's a notable difference in the energy behind the song. rather than gutted, he sounds triumphant. the power is coming from a different source now.

On July 18 (in the UK and Ireland), the 1st trilogy gets a revamp, but that’s only the beginning!

We’ll be re-releasing each trilogy in stages between July 2024 and the 20th anniversary of Book One, in 2027!

Matt Taylor - responsible for the glorious cover to A Mind Full Of Murder (out in March!) - is handling art duties, and he’s adapting his style and approach to suit each trilogy.

Basically, the darker the series gets, the darker the covers become.

And there is some SERIOUS darkness lying ahead…"
