I'm trying to figure out a better way to interpret the 3x3 method RUPM's third pair. The method is super intriguing in terms of how un-algorithmic it is, and how strategic it is, and how one needs to understand EVERYTHING about a cube in order to solve with this method.

Presley, the creator of the method, made it seem like the Third Pair step can only be solved one way, but I've found it's sort of like CFOP or ZZ's F2L, and there's multiple ways to solve any given case. there are more correct ways to solve it than incorrect ways, so Learning 3rd pair may be more about learning what NOT to do rather than what TO do.

I went to another speedcubing competition today.

I choked 4x4, which was the event I had practiced the most and was looking forward to the most, so that was a disappointment.

Pyraminx was a sub-par performance, but that was to be expected considering that I didn't practice at all.

I set a new pr single and avg for both 3x3 and 2x2 though, so that was nice.

I didn't compete in any other events.
