George's ear was not cut off
Sectumsempra is the spell that George was hit with. It is describe as a spell that causes hemorrhages, and, in the fight against Draco, the spell is given the visual of blood seeping through clothing. This has the implication that it not only causes the implosion of blood vessels, but that it either 1. the magic cuts through the skin to cause the implosion and/or 2. the implosion is so strong it cuts through the skin from the inside.
There are a ton of tiny blood vessels that go in, around, and through the ear. Some of these vessels travel around the face and neck. We know that George's ear could not be grown back due to the spell being dark magic, how far does that apply? How many of those veins got hit? How much of George's face is permanently marked?
I don't know.
But what I do know is that George's ear was not cut off.
It was blasted off painfully quick and gory

What is your strongest spell?
Ahhh a wonderfully question indeed, first it raises to question the meaning of powerful
I could list my highest tier spell which is of course True Word Cut
But quite frankly I get more usage out of lesser spells such as detect trolley which can tell me what you'd pick between on any trolley cart problem
Zeno's shield is quite fun but to cast it you need calculus else you spend an eternity chanting the incantation
What I mean to say is plenty of options it's so hard to pick!!!

magic system where “dark magic” and “light magic” are literal terms - dark magic consumes photons, making an area around the spell visibly darker, sometimes to an Extreme extent, and light magic releases photons.
because of this most dark mages tend to work in very brightly-lit areas (either artificial light or outside in the daytime) to fuel their spells and wear and use lightly coloured clothes and tools so that they’re easier to see in the dimness their spells create, whereas light mages wear heavy, sometimes leaden robes (depending on the work being done) and the magical equivalent of welding masks to protect themselves from what can be an extreme amount of light, and sometimes other kinds of electromagnet radiation!
needless to say this is incredibly confusing for anyone unfamiliar with the culture

I should not ever be allowed to access substances that create a combination of relaxed euphoria and creativity.
Don't mistake: It's nice, but it's also very good at removing every stopgap that keeps me from being creative with spellwork.

As much as I love learning about and discussing different magical theories, I think I can firmly say that the best way to do magic is to...actually do magic. Like in Skyrim, where in order to level up a skill, you have to actually use it.

ok im loosing my mind at this theory? canon connection? from twitter
1.2 spoilers/theories / luocha companion quest mentions / leaks(?)
i was ALSO under the assumption that dan feng is dead and dan heng is just a Fucked Up On Purpose reincarnation of himself. but these TWO screenshots fuck it all up
Tumblr media
(apparently this was data mined from the game and hasn't been deleted but im unsure if its 1.3 leaks for imbibitor lunae's companion mission or not)
Tumblr media
and this is just a screenshot from Luocha's companion mission where March is talking about a novel that has a molting/de-aging story beat and said novel is a main focus throughout the mission
the clear use of "molting" is. super telling especially since Luocha is a follower of the abundance and has unclear motives on the Luofu that havent come to light yet compared to Dan Feng's gay gay homosexual gay immortality sin
and boy does hyv like to drop hints like this in the patches leading up A Big Reveal
this makes the lore EVEN MORE complicated than it already WAS trying to figure out whats going between these two(?) characters and if Dan Feng was actually just de-aged its honestly So Much More Tragic than just Dan Feng dying because Dan Heng IS Dan Feng. Blade ISN'T as delusional in thinking they're the same person, though Dan Heng isn't trying to gaslight gatekeep girlboss by pretending not to know Blade because he GENUINELY doesn't. Dan Feng isn't dead, Dan Feng just doesn't exist anymore in the capacity that his loved ones can remember . And it hurts SO much more.
This also explains why Jing Yuan was acting so fucking insensitive to Dan Heng in the 1.2 trailblaze mission. Jing Yuan is a long-life species and not a stranger to the death of people around him, he is familiar with the Vidyadhara reincarnation cycles & him repeatedly referring to Dan Heng as Dan Feng is unwarranted and not in character IF Dan Feng is actually dead. If Dan Feng was de-aged & grows into being Dan Heng that throws a huge fucking wrench in the already messy & convoluted Vidyadhara reincarnation. His friend did not die and move on to their next incarnation that is to be expected of Vidyadhara, Dan Feng NEVER died but his existence was so altered to the point that his death would have been kinder
bonus me trying to explain to my non-hsr friend this shit;

If I’m enchanting incense to be used for cleansing, could I use a SATOR square? According to my research it’s often used to protect against disease and the evil eye but I’m not sure if it would be good for general protection. I’m also not sure what kind of incantation I could use to accompany it.
Thank you very much if you choose to answer!
Due to the timing of this ask I presume we're talking about this post?
It is my belief that cleansing and protection are two different things. Washing a dog is not the same thing as building a fence to keep it away. I would not use the Sator square for cleansing, but might do so for protection.
I don't recall ever having used the Sator square as an amulet, but I've also heard it imparts good protection.
If you're using loose incense, charming the written Sator square itself, then burning it and mixing the ashes with the incense, would probably work great.
Theories about the Sator square abound, but it's my understanding that it combines a few magical "laws" to achieve its success:
References to agriculture/farming (things which give, bring, or promote life are famous protectors) - it's a stretch, but it may be interpreted as giving you (the holder of the amulet) the tools to create life.
A "null" word (Arepo) without any known meaning halts the progress of spirits; they can't understand it so they can't move past it.
The wordy bits go in every direction; the charm extends through all planes. A spirit can't read it left to right and be done with it. They've got to traverse the entire thing (being blocked from completion by Arepo).
The square now of course has its own energy having been used for some time as a worthy protective amulet by many people.
With these things in mind - which aren't like, historically verified facts about the Sator square, this is pretty much just my feelings about it - I'd perhaps arrange an incantation like this:
SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS I am the sower of life, SATOR None can stand against me, AREPO I hold the wheels that turn the earth, TENET I turn the earth into life itself, OPERA And the earth turns life into me, ROTAS ROTAS OPERA TENET AREPO SATOR
For what it's worth, which may not be much at all, something in my brain is tickling me that the Sator square is not particularly suited for the sort of charm linked at the top. I believe the power of the Sator square comes from the 20 interlinking words - a symbol too complex to be easily employed. I'd think you'd want to employ each word in each direction as the symbol is worked into the charm. Just seems like a lot of work to me.

hello!!! i was wondering, outside of the "playable" siblings, which characters have siblings that they've talked about/we've seen before?
Honami has a younger brother (age unknown). He is not named and rarely mentioned, and as far as i remember he has never appeared in any stories (unvoiced/no L2D obviously)
Minori has a younger brother in elementary school (6-12 years old). He is unnamed and doesn't have a L2D model, but has some unvoiced dialogue
Airi has a younger sister and an older sister. The younger sister is probably quite close in age to her given her interactions with a 7-ish year old Airi. I don't recall the older one ever appearing. Neither is named but the younger sister has unvoiced dialogue.
Toya has two older brothers. One is a professional musician (age unknown) and one is studying music at a conservatoire in New York (~19-early 20s). They are not named and have not appeared in the story.
Emu has two brothers who are significantly older than her and work managing PXL (Keisuke, ~31 & Shousuke, ~28), and an older sister (Hinata, ~21) who is in college
Mizuki has an older sister called Yuuki (22) who is studying at university in France
Every other MC is an only child or their sibling is another MC. NPC-wise, there's the Kotakis and the Yoshizakis. Kotaro has a much younger brother who is still a toddler. Sakurako is confirmed to be an only child, but other than that there's no confirmation for anyone (a lot of them are probably only children though). As far as I remember, no one is stated to have an aunt or uncle either.

i know it’s been said on here plenty of times but i genuinely get so upset when i see people continuously perpetuate the whole “Gehrman’s a creep and the Doll is a sex object theory” when there’s an actually direct in-game evidence showing that none of that is true. and yk what despite the posts abt this that already exist i am, in fact, gonna make one of my own.
Okay so first off, The Voiceline. You know the one.
Tumblr media
Yeah this line got interpreted by a portion of the fandom as weird, especially because of the tone it’s said in. However, there are two pieces of context that immediately show what he meant by this.
The first, is that you DO use the Doll. She provides a service for you by taking your blood echoes and turning them into your strength (the level up system).
Tumblr media
Aside from this, the ability to talk to her, and the option of giving her an item, there is nothing else you can do with her, and nothing else the game even implies you can do with her. She does not even have any truly “romantic” dialogue. She mentions that she loves you, but that she does because she was created to do so.
Tumblr media
She loves all the hunters because her purpose is to care for them, and in her words, embolden their sickly spirits.
The second piece of context is in Gehrman’s dialogue just before he says the line about the Doll.
Tumblr media
He is telling you that anything you find in the workshop is a tool you can use to strengthen yourself and make the hunt easier. He is referring to the Doll as a tool, because she is one of the few the workshop has not lost. He’s not sexualizing her, he’s talking about her like she is a tool, and something to be used, not seen as a person.
Tumblr media
Is it a good thing? No, but considering he resents her for not being what he created her to be (or by another interpretation, coming to life when he never intended her to), it’s not unreasonable to assume that over time he would just categorize her as a thing instead of a person.
The second piece of evidence towards this god awful theory is the Doll’s white blood. Honestly I cannot believe people genuinely take this as being semen, because not only is there a canon reason for creatures to have pale blood, but also it’s just disgusting.
Tumblr media
You need a minimum of one insight to see the Doll during the game, she was given life by the Moon Presence following Gehrman’s placement in the Hunter’s Dream, and she bleeds pale blood. She’s kin. (Yes I am aware the game does not consider her kin in regards to whether or not she can be dealt damage based gems that alter your attacks vs kin, but you’re not supposed to be fighting her anyway, and it’s not like you need a bonus to kill her in the first place).
And finally, to address the other big point, the item descriptions that appear on Maria’s Hunter Garb and the Doll’s Set.
Tumblr media
I would like to address first, the obvious, that Maria’s garb says directly she was “unaware of his curious mania” (however you interpret that), but the point is she was unaware, he clearly in life, never made advances on her (which is something I’ve seen a few people state is ‘implied’???).
The second, and this one is a bit in the subtext, is that the Doll seems to not have any idea that Gehrman ever had any positive feelings towards her at all, she expresses a love for the hunter in a way that reflects someone who was never shown love in any capacity (likely due to the circumstances surrounding her achieving sentience), so its reasonable to assume as well that she was entirely unaware of the ‘curious mania’ as well.
Additionally I would point out that while referencing Gehrman’s mania once more, the Doll’s description also directly states that she was once loved and cared for, something that changed after she gained sentience. She likely served as a memorial for Maria, considering there is no canon evidence Maria herself actually has a grave.
Tumblr media
The grave that provides the Old Hunter Bone may be hers, but the item description refers to the hunter it came from as “he.” This could be due to it being placed there prior to the decision to give Maria the quickening skill in her boss fight, or it could be that Maria did not have a proper grave for whatever reason, and thus the Doll was needed, which could then relate the obsession to an obsession with Gehrman keeping a memory of her, as there is nothing else he seems to have of her.
Tumblr media
Everything here aside I would like to also point out that the Doll is quite literally, a doll. There is nothing that would even suggest she would be capable of any sort of sexual relationship.
Especially because even before the Dream, the Doll did have a specific purpose. She seems to be modeled after Victorian mourning dolls, which were items used to help families/loved ones process grief, typically of children, by having something to remind them of the deceased that did not itself look deceased. If you consider the grave in the Abandoned Old Workshop to be Maria’s and know that that’s also where the Doll is in the waking world, then that’s probably what she’s for. Or as stated before, the grave may NOT be hers, and the Doll itself IS her grave.
Another thing I didn’t point out but will, for a moment get into, is the Doll’s clothing being feminized. A lot of people take this as Gehrman being a misogynist and sexualizing her in a more feminine way as if he himself was not training Maria (and likely other women) to be hunters during his life. He encouraged the less feminine life she lived as a hunter!
That point always confuses me, especially knowing that one of the last things Maria likely said to Gehrman was what she said after the massacre at the Fishing Hamlet where she threw away her weapon and renounced the hunt, choosing to retire (and potentially become a caretaker for the Church’s patients, judging by her role in the Hunter’s Nightmare). Like OF COURSE he dressed her like that, she expressed that she no longer wanted to be a hunter so he made her the opposite. The only reason she is dressed the way she is in the Hunter’s Nightmare is because that is how Kos is depicting her, not because it’s her conscious choice.
The point of this is, Gehrman is one of my all time favorite characters alongside Maria and the Doll, and while yes, I am well aware he isn’t perfect, it’s still frustrating to see him get so mischaracterized by a fandom who insists they love lore so much, and care about the tiny details. You can dislike Gehrman or think he does shitty things and that’s fine, but creating a story where he’s a creep just to prove you care about Maria and the Doll is weird. And it’s weirdER that people argue IN FAVOR of the theory as if it MUST be true, because honestly why would anyone even want it to be???
This post also was specifically done without consideration for whatever type of relationship Gehrman and Maria had according to canon or any interpretations. Essentially I’m not necessarily saying any of this has anything to do with whether or not you ship them, I personally don’t, but I know some people do, and I feel like on either side you can still be critical of this Doll theory, as it is entirely baseless.
(In case anyone is interested, the images and references used for this were from the Bloodborne wiki, specifically this one.)

Elemental Work Crash Course
Hello friends! As a west witch I find myself in a lot of elemental spaces, but as an elemental pagan I feel like we get little to no representation without wicca being present so this post is for all my friends who may be looking into elemental work and want to know what to expect! This is an introductory post so if anyone is interested in further information let me know in the comments!

Earth
Common Lessons tend to include grounding, understanding your place within it all like your social circles, life itself, or even the ecosystem. People also tend to find out how to see beauty even when they feel there is none, home and hearth magic, generational magic, and harnessing your own power. Its important to recognize earth is extremely giving, often giving things without expecting anything in return. Remember to give back to the earth when you can in your practice, it isn't fair to take things without giving back. Eventually earth takes all things back from the living, so remember that earth is as powerful as she is kind Darker Aspect/Element: Rot How to honor and find these teachings:
Going out in nature
Taking care of plants
Herbal work
Community service
Exploring
Grounding and meditation outdoors
Connecting to earth itself
Evaluating what it means to be human
Common forms of divination
Osteomancy (Burning Bones)
Abacomancy (Dirt)
Dendromancy (Tree reading)
Falling petals or leaves
Tumblr media
Air
Common lessons from air tend to be quick and ever present, air speaks rather quickly to people and messages change! Its best to keep a log of signs and messages you receive because it tends to be a pebble trail on your journey. Air teaches how to keep calm in tense situations, creating your own path on the journey of life, going with the wind and learning to not value materialistic lifestyles, plus learning how to be more gentle with yourself and others!
Darker Aspect: Tempest How to honor and find these teachings:
Breath work
Spontaneity and leaving your comfort zone
Living to the fullest (however that might look for you!)
Dance or Hand motions
Meditations
Keeping sword or athame imagery as a talisman
Storm tracking
Common forms of divination:
Smoke Scrying
Wind Watching
Electromancy (By Lightning)
Austromancy (By Clouds)
Tumblr media
Fire
Common lessons in fire encourage you to listen closely and not rely so much on searching for messages. In most mythos fire speaks once per session, when its burnt out usually the message is over. Fire teaches us how to be confident in our work, ambition, and performance. Fire likes to throw a lot at you and teach you adaptability, and most importantly how to be the best you can be. You can learn a lot from just a little flame.
Darker Aspect: Magma
How to Honor these teachings:
Practicing Confidence
Glamour Magic
Using your backbone/saying no more
Making friends in odd places
Hosting bonfires/tending to a hearth fire
Using candle magic
Common forms of divination:
Fire Scrying
Candle/Wax reading
Flame Shape reading
Casting knives
Tumblr media
Water
Common lessons range depending on what you are looking for! Water can teach you how to be calm and collected, but also encourages you to be fluid! so if you need to unleash the flood you know when its appropriate to do so. You also learn how to go with the flow, how to be persistent, and how to be a fierce enigma. Water is also very humbling at times, so you will learn a lot about yourself.
Darker Aspect: Abyss
How to honor these teachings:
Emotion based meditations
Shadow work
Being in tune with yourself
Swimming
Boating
Fishing
Beach cleanups
Exploring your waterways
Common types of divination:
Water scrying
Waves

The reason we put protective spells over doors and windows is because they're designated points of entry for energy in all forms. That's the spot that allows flow.
Ever wonder why you typically don't enchant a wall the same way?
A wall is built with eons upon eons of intention to keep undesirable things out. Inclement weather, those who would do harm, etc. A symbol almost as old as humanity itself, reinforced with tradition & belief, creating a near impenetrable spiritual barrier between the inside & outside.
Prime example of how weaving the practical into spellwork will make a bigger impact in your magic/k.
Go forth & get weird

After rewatching Sleeping Beauty, I think the TWST world really was cursed- although I can’t decide if the curse was made during Maleficent’s time of Mallenoa’s time. But Prince Phillip’s Sword of Truth was “blessed” with an aim pure and true, and that evil die and good endure.
Flora NEVER specified the time frame of “evil die and good endure.” Magic in classic Disney, ESPECIALLY in Sleeping Beauty, depended heavily on specific wording. With this spell, it means it may be a forever-binding curse for the villains in Twisted Wonderland.
Tumblr media
However, if this didn’t happen in Maleficent’s time, I think it happened during Mallenoa’s time. The Dawn Knight is after her, and from what we know, he sounds like he’s based off both Aurora AND Philip. Extremely beautiful, golden hair, and a formidable knight? If he was the one to slay Mallenoa, magic must have been involved somehow that cemented the curse on the world.
It’s why when RSA is involved, NRC can literally never win, even in side events like Harveston. It’s not just some silly reference, it’s a legitimate curse that can ruin these kids lives in the future. No matter how skilled and hardworking and persevering, our boys will just never win 。゚(゚´ω`゚)゚。
Edit: A genius commenter mentioned how the sleeping curse relates to 100 years as well. In the original fairytale, the princess did sleep for 100 hundreds until the prince woke her up. In Sleeping Beauty, I believe the curse was eternal until true loves kiss? 🤔 Rewatching things apparently does not help my memory haha, but this is interesting considering NRC and RSA’s 99th streak 👀
