⚔️ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Black Hole
Weapon (longsword or rapier), legendary (requires attunement) ___ This black longsword has a pulsating, cosmic void at its center. The void is a tiny shred of a "sphere of annihilation," which only functions to grant this weapon its various properties. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, which has the finesse property. While holding it, ranged attacks against you are made with disadvantage. Whenever a ranged attack misses you while holding the longsword, you gain 2d6 temporary hit points, and the missile or spell permanently disappears into the void at the weapon's center. If the missile is a magic item, it immediately reappears in a random location within 1,000 feet of you. The first target you hit with the sword on each of your turns takes an extra 2d10 force damage. While holding the longsword, you can use a bonus action to magically split it into two rapiers named "gravity" and "mass", which each have the light property. The void vanishes when the longsword is split. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with these weapons, instead of +3. If you're proficient with longswords, you are proficient with these rapiers. Each sword has its own unique properties. 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮. "Gravity" has an elaborate, twisting basket at the base of its blade. When you hit a creature with this weapon, the target's speed is reduced by a cumulative 10 feet until the start of your next turn. A creature whose speed is reduced to 0 in this way must immediately succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be magically restrained until the start of your next turn. 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨. "Mass" has a hefty, armored guard around its handle. A creature hit with this weapon for the first time on a turn must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or feel a powerful, invisible weight thrust upon it; such a creature has disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attack rolls it makes using Strength until the start of your next turn. A creature not attuned to "black hole" can still benefit from the rapiers' properties. Such a creature must make a DC 16 Strength... ... Continued in the comment below! ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! I'm on the writing grind, you can see that I just finished rewatching the Teen Titans (2003).
Edit: Here is some art I did for Titan!Phantom
.・゜-: ✧ :-
(The end is near.)
Gripping the communicator, the bright yellow case with a cartoonish 'T' on top glared back at him.
(The portal was growing.)
He presses the button, the communicator switches on and he calls out.
"Phantom to Titans, do you hear me? Phantom to Titans."
The crackling sound came as a sign of connection, It didn't take any heavy weight off, however.
"Robin here, Phantom? Everything alright?" The soothing voice of Teen Titans leader answers him, and he suppresses a sigh.
"Robin," he bites his lip, the portal only growing.
The ghost zone is eating Amity and all just because fucking Vlad couldn't, for one ancient time, sit still.
"I—" a deep breath. "I'm sorry," he apologises with a wince. "You're gonna be really angry at me when you... find out."
Concern leaks through the voice as Robin speaks. "Phantom? What's going on?"
Thr screen on the communicator switches on and Robins brow knitted expression stares back at him.
It quickly changes, alarmed. "Phantom." The vigilante says. "Is Amity Park okay? Do you need backup?"
Always on the right track, dear leader. Danny shakes his head fondly.
"It's too late for backup," he admits quietly.
"Phan—"
"Just tell new members of me, okay?"
Danny doesn't let the other finish, giving a bitter smile before throwing the communicator on the ground, breaking it.
The familiar yet threatening green of the ghost zone welcomes him.
"Titans! Emergency call, Phantom got a situation!"
The bright red lights is enough for the rest of the team to flood to the common room.
"Rob?" Cyborg asks. "What's the situation?"
"We don't know!" The bird answers, stressed. He's pulling the audio and video recording of the call up to the monitor, replaying it for the team.
They don't figure it out until they are at Amity, landing with the jet and jumping from their seats.
Raven and Starfire fly ahead, and they all reach the border of Amity.
Or what of Amity remains.
Because–
The entire city is gone—!!
Complete annihilation.
(When robin finds out who did this, he will have words with them.)
"Robin," Raven waves them all over to her side. She's crouching, hand in a sphere of black, her magic. "Amity wasn't destroyed. It was relocated."
Her expression is grim. "Someone abducted a whole city."
All he does is nod, looking at the team before him.
"Someone call Herald, Titans, we got work to do. Our mission is to find Amity Park, Phantom, and save both." With sombre nods, they prepared for take off.
"Titans! Go!"
And they separate.

"Propose," for @bamsara
HI YOUR DOODLES INSPIRED ME HERE'S A POETRY ATTACK. rambling below the cut.
At first, the death waltz is a misstep.
A sickening skeletal crack, a shape of an invisible scythe.
Sincerity is too kind a lie, but His sacrosanct
Protection (you think)
Lets you rise once more.
Death cannot keep you, but you would let Him
If he welcomes you.
You only believe what He thinks you should know.
The flames engulf you after the smoke does,
But your soul has nearly shed its corpse when you see them.
You stand in the vast chain-bound sanctuary and breathe
Fully (your lungs don’t remember being choked).
It is the first of a fitful of
Scorn and surprises and bone fingertips pressed against your skin.
He helps you to your feet.
Your heart should not beat here. In the infiniteness of your bosom it awakens.
The very semblance of the jagged-bare flesh
Encircling your neck is an intimacy in itself.
The blissful torment of the swordsman’s blade
Releases (so close to peril)
And He is already in your periphery.
Call it duty. Call it love.
Choose it as the last decision you’ll ever make.
Fate’s a tarot pull. You draw your card with eyes sealed shut.
You are a disgraced, depraved approximation of a person.
The chill of his embrace is warmer than the hands
That build the bonfire. It is in the name of
Someone (you shan’t say who)
And in the ashes of your grief your reflection
Stares back with three eyes.
The temptation to burn yourself seeps out,
Ichor-like. You don’t die tonight, not yet.
A careful drip of poison. The aftertaste of iron
In your mouth: communion seeping into your own goblet.
A moonshine moment of annihilation, however brief
Before (infectious, echoing, comforting)
You bleed out. You hope you die today.
He hopes you die today. It’s an
Ambrosial veil between you.
You slip beneath it with a sweet hello.
It’s never quite intentional until
The myths surrounding Him fall away.
The secrets you keep are shared, kept safe
Until (your reunion, this time, was not quite an accident)
They are intertwined: you are inescapably
Lonely and in your separate spheres
You vie for dominance. It’s a furious, bloodsoaked rendezvous.
It was always He who waited, but you’ll be patient.
He feels you in every dream. You
Stop time with your voices.
It’s His frustration melting away
With your kisses (you’re not there yet)
And makes Him yours, in freedom,
Dependent on nothing nobody you himself
The fetters are invisible but you hear them
Rattling every time your heart beats.
Your breath need not return anymore so you
Relearn to dodge the aim of an arrow, the pierce of a blade.
Living is foul, a promise half-hidden,
Desperate. (It lingers on your tongue.)
Death bound you together. You know how to die.
You have to remind yourself that heaven lays barren.
It will not hold you
Should Death keep you apart.
Get appreciated idiot /pos /lh
So, this was inspired by this post, which was super wholesome and sweet, but I couldn't write this without infusing it with the urgency and anxiety and sense of danger that looms over The Rehabilitation of Death. Bits and pieces of references to your AU are sprinkled in throughout. I hope you (and my readers and your readers as well) enjoy picking apart the themes here!
I actually wrote this live on stream last night! I made sure none of my friends were streaming before I started because I didn't want to miss anyone if someone was already live, but then you started streaming like 10 minutes later and I was like FUCK now I wanna watch you. But after a couple of hours on my new extra-hard CotL save (OUCH), I switched to writing and just... hoped you wouldn't pop in because I wanted this to be a surprise. For most of the writing part of the stream this poem was titled "IF SARA STOPS STREAMING SEND ME A WARNING."
Anyway, we don't usually get to talk more than a couple times per week because we both have Shit To Do, but you are SO FUN to be around and I am so so glad I met you!! Your friendship is a blessing and your creativity is a gift.
Also posted to AO3 as onethirdofimpossible here!

So wait a second...
In official Rune Factory 4 lore, Ventuswill was supposed to die many, many centuries ago. It's uncertain how many, but it's generally accepted that Leon likely became the first Guardian around 1000 years ago. The big thing is that, in theory, Ventuswill's natural lifespan could have been much longer with no need for Guardians or Rune Spheres, but she was born in a land where the runes were beginning to die out and was thus weak. The Earthmates creating the Rune Spheres was as much about restoring runes to the land as it was saving Ventuswill because while the world can go on without Ventuswill, the world cannot go on without runes. Without runes, the land becomes barren, crops won't grow, and all life eventually ends.
Now, I don't know much about Rune Factory 2 since I haven't actually played it (and anyone who has is free to correct me on the below points), but from what I've read online in terms of the lore, Fiersome's apocalypse would have happened a thousand years ago had the ancient Earthmates not placed their seal on him--roughly when Ventuswill was originally supposed to expire. And every thousand years, the seal on him has to be renewed; if not, the world is destined to be destroyed in Fiersome's raging apocalyptic hellfire, after which Terrable will awaken and restore life to the charred landscape at the cost of eliminating whatever remaining life has survived--in other words, a total rebirth of the planet.
Between the close timing of these two past events--the point that Ventuswill's life was originally supposed to end and the point when the seal was placed on Fiersome--and the fact they were to occur when the world's runes were starting to dry up, the Earthmates both past and present have been staving off the inevitable End of the World for centuries. The world, as we know it, could have been destroyed a thousand years ago as it was supposed to, but the Earthmates said "Nope! It's too nice to let it all die!" and have done everything they can to extend its lifespan.
And that's when we get to Rune Factory 5 and an incredibly dark statement from the main antagonist, Gideon. According to Gideon, Alice/Ares is the last known Earthmate--not the last, but there are so few Earthmates that if there are any others left, they're most likely in hiding and are on their way to becoming an extinct species. Now, Ventuswill's longevity has been ensured thanks to the actions of Lest/Frey during RF4 and she'll probably still be munching on pancakes in 1000 years, but if the Earthmates wind up going extinct, there's no way to restore Fiersome's seal because only Earthmates are capable of renewing the magic used to keep him locked up. And Fiersome is not the only godlike creature capable of causing the world's inevitable destruction; Tides of Destiny gave us the Legendary Golem, whose cataclysmic battle with the Native Dragons led to the creation of the current world, and RF5's potential apocalypse was that of the Fathomless Dread, an eldritch abomination that literally had to be sealed in another dimension to prevent it from destroying the world.
The Rune Factory world has brushed time and time again with total annihilation and the only reason it has managed to avoid catastrophe was because there was an Earthmate around to stop it. What happens when there are no longer any Earthmates to stop the end of all? Or is it possible that the Earthmates are going to experience a revival of some sort? Besides a castle-esque design, the logo for Rune Factory 6 does suspiciously feature a seraph/halo motif, after all...

Eating is a scandal at the heart of human life. On the one hand because eating implies dismemberment and destruction of that which is consumed: we live by making other beings die. On the other hand because eating reveals a contradiction in the basic structure of human desire. We long to be united with objects and beings outside ourselves, and eating—actual incorporation of an object into our own substance—constitutes the ultimate form of union. We instinctively measure all other forms of intimacy against the fusional bliss of eating (momentarily) provides. Yet eating annihilates objects as independent entities, stealing them from us at the very instant we are joined to them most fully. Without union of substances, knowledge remains external, detached, incomplete. Yet when substances unite, intimacy vanishes in its own consummation. [...] We are driven to seek union with the world. Yet our craving destroys the very beings we reach out to know and love. [...] In the mundane sphere, the essence of hunger is the "inability to resist." Hunger brings the daily demonstration that our will is not free, that our bodies are inhabited—constituted—by forces over which we can exert only the most limited and fleeting control.

PENACONY LORE POST
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Been doing some reading and wanted to put everything we have about Penacony in one place, because there's a lot to take in thanks to new Ornament sets.
BACKSTORY
Penacony was originally an IPC prison world in the Asdana star system. Prisoners were moved here in some kind of collaboration with the Garden of Recollection (the followers of Remembrance) to help diminish some kind of ongoing catastrophe.
Prisoners in old Penacony were kept in "spherical work chambers" indefinitely, ostensibly because it made it easier to move them around.
"At some point in time" the prisoners became detached from reality (likely thanks to the continuous sensory deprivation of being stuck in a bubble for who-knows-how-long) and became lost in their own memories and dreams. This progressed to a point where their dreams linked together, allowing them to communicate with each other in spite of their ongoing imprisonment.
The Aeons eventually intervened on this planet thanks in no small part to a Stellaron crisis - the Annihilation Legion arrived and the IPC abandoned the place, The Trailblaze connected Penacony to the Star Rail, and the prisoners reached out to The Harmony to save them.
Xipe the Harmony saved Penacony and brought a new era of peace to the planet, with the inhabitants being absorbed into The Family (Xipe's pan-cosmic hivemind).
This ancient history is not a secret but generally not acknowledged very often or just treated as, basically, fun trivia.
MODERN DAY
Penacony was developed from a vast desert into a massive metropolitan complex built on entertainment and indulgence, "seemingly omnipotent" in the scope of feats it's capable of. Under the philosophy of The Harmony, all parties are welcome to come to Penacony.
The central pillar of Penacony is the Reverie Hotel (seen in the Penacony set's Planar Sphere), hosting guests before they spread out to the specific facilities of the megacity.
Penacony is split up into twelve distinct sectors, each titled as a "Moment". Specifically named Moments are the Moment of Daybreak (featuring underground tunnels), the Moment of Scorchsand (featuring vast fields), and the Moment of the Stars (with a large star-studded stadium).
The main form of transportation on Penacony are Spheroids, which are modified forms of the prison spheres from old Penacony. These move along metal tracks that criss-cross through the airspace, and can be seen in the Penacony set's Link Rope.
ONGOING EVENTS
Penacony has sent out invitations to pretty much every major faction in the galaxy for a grand banquet, which is a big deal since it's the first time something like this has occurred. To wit:
The Nameless and the Astral Express crew were explicitly invited.
The Interastral Peace Corporation were explicitly invited (Aventurine and Topaz are likely to be involved).
The Masked Fools are implicitly involved (the only confirmation is that a female Fool that Sampo doesn't get along with is arriving to Penacony).
The Annihilation Gang (followers of the Destruction not associated with his official army, the Annihilation Legion) might be coming as well. The new "Ashblazing Grand Duke" set talks about a leader in the Gang, a fire demon named Ifrit, being invited to Penacony and him planning to arrive for the purpose of destroying the planet with his cronies. Only hangup is that it's not clear if that's referring to a past event or current events, but figured it was worth mentioning here for your consideration.
And that should be everything available to us at this moment in time. Version 1.6 doesn't look to see us traveling to Penacony yet but I'll be interested in seeing if we get more lore to attach onto this post.

The #US arms embargo on #Israel, which began at its inception in ‘48, remained until after Israel’s brilliant military victory in the ’67 #SixDayWar. After that, the U.S. finally realized the #Arab states had fully aligned with the #Soviets and that Israel could be a key U.S. ally in the #ColdWar.
But the #American decision was not based on Israel’s #military victory alone.
You see, the #Israeli triumph in the Six Day War was no accident. It was the result of Israel’s obsessively careful planning and some major #intelligence coups regarding the most advanced #Soviet military equipment.
The following reads like a #SpyNovel, but the story is entirely true.
In 1963, the Cold War was at its hottest. A few months earlier, in October 1962, the world came to the brink of total #nuclear annihilation during the 13-day #CubanMissileCrisis standoff.
Then, in June of 1963, #JFK gave his most famous anti-#communist speech (known as the “Ich bin ein Berliner” (“I am a Berliner”) speech) in West #Germany to an adoring crowd of nearly half a million West #Germans.
And then the biggest shock of all that rocked the entire world. On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Soviet sympathizer #LeeHarveyOswald. The world changed forever.
Meanwhile, in Israel, Meir Amit became the new director of #ShinBet (internal security) and #Mossad (foreign intelligence). He took over at a time when Israel was seen by the U.S. (and the whole world) as a country living on borrowed time.
Sure, the Israelis managed a modern-day miracle by fighting off five invading Arab armies to a stalemate and #armistice in 1949; but the country was still technically at war with all of them, and Israel remained massively outnumbered and was increasingly finding itself massively outgunned.
Throughout much of the 1950s and 1960s, the Arab countries turned to their new best friends in the #SovietUnion.
The Soviets were more than happy to continue expanding their sphere of influence in the #oil-rich #MiddleEast and, therefore, aggressively armed and trained the Arab militaries with some of their most advanced weaponry.
Most concerningly, the Soviets had begun delivering and training Arab fighter pilots on their newest #supersonic strike aircraft – the MiG-21 (below).
Every Western nation, including the U.S., was completely in the dark about the capabilities of this cutting-edge #Russian aircraft and were fearful of the jet the Russians called the “most advanced strike aircraft in the world.”
Amit made a bold – some said insane – decision. Israel was going to steal a Soviet MiG-21.
Shortly after the U.S. bombed North #Vietnam for the first time in February of 1964, Israel was focused on gathering intelligence on Arab pilots charged with flying the MiG-21 for Egypt, Iraq, and Syria.
Israeli intelligence learned that one of the #Iraqi #AirForce pilots was a #Maronite #Christian Arab. Israel knew the Maronites had frequently been subject to #persecution in #Muslim-dominated countries like Iraq. Perhaps he could be turned.
The Mossad sent a beautiful, intelligent, and lively American-born woman to #Baghdad to try to establish contact with the Maronite pilot whose name was Munir Redfa. She met Redfa at a party, and Redfa was infatuated with her immediately.
Not knowing the Mossad agent’s identity, Redfa told the #beautiful #woman with whom he was clearly smitten that he was “in violent disagreement with the current war being waged by his government against the minority #Kurdish tribesmen in northern Iraq.” He was especially disgusted that he, a persecuted minority himself, was being asked to bomb the defenseless #Kurds.
He continued sharing his gripes against the Iraqi government including his shock at the imprisonment of some of his best friends who were Maronites. He also shared that he was being mistreated “because he was a Christian” and had been “passed over as commander” of his squadron, was kept stationed far from his home in Baghdad, and was permitted to fly “only with small fuel tanks” – a restriction he said was placed only on Christian pilots.
Redfa went even further, speaking in a way most Arabs dared not speak in public. He confessed he had a “sneaking admiration” for the Israelis who had managed to fight off five Arab armies despite being “so few against so many #Moslems.”
The Mossad agent knew she had her mark, and she maintained her relationship with him. It turned out Redfa had a wife and several children, but he still carried on a several-years-long intimate relationship with the Mossad agent.
Then, in July of 1966, the Mossad agent suggested that she and Redfa go on a trip together to #Europe. Redfa excitedly accepted the invitation.
After a few days in Europe, the Mossad agent suggested Redfa “fly to Israel with her. She had friends there who might be of service to him.”
Seeing the expression on Redfa’s face change from joy to confusion, the Mossad agent reached into her bag and pulled out a brand-new passport and tickets to Israel.
The jig was up. Redfa knew the woman he fell for was an Israeli spy. But, instead of being upset by this revelation, he was intrigued once he realized the Israelis (for whom he had “sneaking admiration”) were ready to make him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
The Israelis would give Redfa a way out of bombing innocent Kurds, they would pay him $1 million, they would sneak his entire family out of Iraq, and they would give him and his entire family Israeli citizenship, a home, and a job for life. Redfa agreed.
Mordecai Hod, commander of the Israeli Air Force, met with Redfa and discussed the plan for getting the MiG-21 out of Iraq and into Israel.
Hod showed Redfa how to fly a zig-zagging route that would allow him to avoid both Iraqi and Jordanian radar. It was a long way from Baghdad – around 560 miles – and Redfa would need nerves of steel to pull off his mission.
Redfa was a confident man. In this scheme, Redfa saw a way to provide his family with much better, freer lives. So, he told Hod, “I will bring you the plane.”
The date of the heist was set: August 16, 1966. Redfa followed the planned zig-zag pattern, but suddenly a ground crew member realized Redfa was heading way too far west.
Frantically, he radioed Redfa and ordered him to turn around immediately.
Redfa did not respond.
The ground crew warned, if Redfa did not turn around instantly, they would shoot him down!
Redfa stayed silent and kept flying.
Finally, he left Iraqi airspace and took a single breath.
Shortly thereafter, once Israeli radar picked up his plane (still hundred of miles away), the Israelis sent a squad of IAF Mirage fighter jets to escort him the remainder of the way to a base in the #NegevDesert.
After he landed, some of Redfa’s family was already there to greet him. The rest of his family was being smuggled across the #Iranian border by Kurdish guerillas. Safely in pre-#Islamic #Revolution #Iran, they were able to fly to Israel to be with the rest of their family.
Israeli intelligence had completed its mission and now had access to the most powerful weapon in the Arab armies’ possession.
Quickly, Western nations like the U.S., #France, and #Britain were all contacting Israel pressing for a chance to see the MiG-21 themselves. Every one of them was floored that this little nation, whose days were presumably numbered, had pulled off such an incredible intelligence feat. Meanwhile, none of these great Western powers had ever before had access to a MiG-21.
The Soviets, however, were furious; and they threatened the Israelis that they faced destruction if they did not get their fighter jet back.
Staggering the U.S., France, and Britain, with its response, Israel did not blink.
"No," they told the Russians. They would not “return” the jet.
Israel knew it was under constant threat of annihilation, and it was only a matter of time before the Arabs staged another massive invasion. The Israelis felt their only means of survival was to ensure they had better intelligence and were better prepared than their enemies.
On the other hand, the Israelis were happy to oblige the #Western powers, but they felt it wise to let things calm down a bit first.
After a few months passed, Israel “loaned” the MiG-21 to the U.S. and permitted them to conduct testing – all of which proved a boon to America’s strategic capabilities.
Meanwhile, the strategic value to Israel would be obvious a mere nine months later when, on April 7, 1967, Israeli jets got in a #dogfight with Syrian pilots flying MiG-21s.
The Israelis shot down six Syrian MiG-21s without losing a single plane of their own; and in the Six Day War two months later, the IAF took advantage of its overwhelming air superiority over the Syrian and Egyptian MiG-21s to carry them to a quick and decisive victory that shocked the entire world.
These combined events led the U.S. to realize that the tiny country of Israel had developed into a Western democracy with a formidable military and a daring intelligence apparatus that was right in the heart of the Middle East.
No longer was Israel seen as “the little country that could.”
Instead, Israel became one of America’s most important allies during the Cold War.

The path of the initiate is a winding one. The very nature of our ascent is serpentine. It twists, turns. coils and goes back into itself. Ascension through the spheres is a gradual process. The mystic must take his time, watch his step and perform his work with devotion, or he will be consumed and annihilated by the Great Chaos. The Dragon compels us – but by degrees.
