Pairing/Shippy list!
I was tagged by @1337wtfomgbbq :) already hyped up I’m sensing there’s gonna be a lot of fun 🤩
Here's the rules:
List your top seven ships.
Put all of them in order of your love for them; 7 to 1, 1 being your favorite.
Name their fandom.
Supply photos for said people.
7) Peter Pevensie & Edmund Pevensie (Narnia)
Tumblr media
Geez. Is there even a proper tag for this?? Not many people ship these two I get it but I just, well, tend to drive down to an end off the beaten track. I really like their interaction in the first film and come to think of it, this was the first movie I’ve seen in movie theater so it kinda hits different.
6) Rogue/Shadowcat (Xmen: Evolution)
Tumblr media
They clearly had some issues at first but ended up getting along really well. Enemies to roommates to friends in combat and… let it hang in there for a bit bcs there could certainly be a lot of possibilities so who knows :D I really enjoy watching them bickering like an old married couple. Could do this all day
5) Hiccup/Astrid (httyd)
Tumblr media
Best anime couple ever! I love how their romantic relationship unfolds in rtte. A slow-burn, took a whole movie, plus three spin-off for it to blossom. Burns slowly but naturally and beautifully.
4) Logan/Scott (Xmen)
Tumblr media
When you talk about Scogan there's no way you can get around talking about that scene where Logan flipped Scott off and Scott just acted cool and cracked a smile. It's all you need to board this ship. Ugh it's shame the writer decided to kill off Scott in The Last Stand. But fortunately it was rectified in DoFP (Don't mention Logan (2017)) and Logan still got years to beef (and highkey flirt) with his frenemy :D
3) Magfam (Cherik + Speedyson) (Xmen)
Tumblr media
What I wouldn't kill to get more wholesome magfam content? For once can we forget about the angst and pain and just sit down and enjoy something of a rom-com, something light, a cute story of how a remarried family getting together. A remarried couple and their teenage son, who hasn't lived with his father for a single day before, try to work out together as a family. Isn't that what we all deserve?
2) Harry Osborn/Peter Parker (Spiderman(raimiverse))
Tumblr media
Quality angst. Their story has everything you need for a classic tragedy. Geez, I remember crying my heart out watching Harry die in Peter's arms as a kid. It left such a massive impact on me that I'm still not over it to this day. I really hate it that NWH did them dirty, Peter out of character, and implying that Harry, being someone vengeful, died of his tomfoolery, making him a cue for some meaningless joke. That's not how they should be. They deserve so, so much better.
1) Neuller (Men's Football RPF)
Tumblr media
My emotional support. My safehouse I could escape to. They are the reason why I'm here in the first place. Decade partners and soulmates on the pitch, two dorks who are always on the same wavelength and always seen together. For Thomas, Manu is the best goalkeeper in the world and the wall of steel behind him, always out there to defend so he could go full throttle forward without worrying; and for Manu, Thomas is his spokesperson on and off the field, leading the charge and helping him organize the defense. Together they grabbed almost all the titles they could. They complete each other, as quoted from Manu himself, Thomas is more than a teammate and he can't imagine a world without him.
Honorable nominees:
Silvercyclops (Xmen (movieverse)): It's a shame they never thought of exploring their friendship. What a waste of the chemistry between Evan and Tye.
Rogue/Gambit (Xmen (all media types excluding movieverse)
Lincoln/Alternate Lincoln (fringe)
Tagging: @manuelmueller @cincydrawing and whoever interested consider yourself tagged by me :D

saw Deadpool 3 today!
god, I remember...
ok so I dont have a connection to superhero movies. superhero anything really. I can list it quite easily
I used to watch the 90s spiderman, xmen and batman as a kid. spiderman was my fave. get in from school, throw on spiderman. then the tobey maguire spideys came out and he was my first ever big crush. then the xmen movies came out and I saw all 3.
so that was before the MCU did its thing, and superheroes took over. I saw the first iron man and that's it all the way up until the first avengers. never saw the captain americas, never saw the thors, never saw the follow up iron mans. and pretty much any of them that have come after it UNTIL... Deadpool 1
and I was a Deadpool hater. I still am. I believe that characters are different per medium, and I do not like comic!Deadpool and I made that clear on tumblr back in the day before the movie came out. so I went to see the movie to see if it was gonna be... well, as misogynistic as comic!Deadpool was
and it wasn't.
I wasn't that big of a fan of the first movie. there's a scene that misogynistic fanboys take out of context all the fucking time. but I consider Deadpool 2 to be one of the best movies ever made. and... very feminist, honestly.
Deadpool 3 I was nervous about. would it be like 1 or 2.......
it was like 2!
I think... I think Ryan just knows. like, the women in his life are very important to him. he could have gone the gross cater to fanboys route with DP but he didn't. so I appreciate that he can be liked by everyone, not just those creeps.
and its saddened me that feminists have hated on Ryan saying its bc of him his wife doesn't have a career anymore and he's thriving. all the man does is praise her, say he's unworthy of her, give her all the credit for any writing she's done esp ON Deadpool. like, I don't care for straight couples, esp Hollywood couples. but I actually like these two. so yeah, I had a good time, I like Ryan and I'd give the movie an 8/10. The second to me was a 10/10
Tumblr media
also just speaking of straight couples and women who should be breaking up with or divorcing their men, like ok, I get if you watch one "type" of video, the algorithm is like "here's 50 more", so bc I've seen one or two "useless boyfriend" videos, instagram keeps showing me more and more, but like................ how fucking many are there.
like I know its practically an epidemic of women dealing with their scrubby boyfriends instead of being single, but its goddamn everywhere
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then you have ugly fuckers who want a gf for the sake of having a gf, but will always try, on the sly, to cheat and get with someone hotter
Tumblr media
Then there's the constant posts about "why men cheat" and the comment section is full of shit like "why have one meal for the rest of your life" or "bc she stopped trying to look good for me"
And then videos from strippers who say that men who try to cheat on their wives with them is not a here and there thing, its an every day thing, and their wives and gfs think they're the most loyal men out there absolutely INCAPABLE of cheating and yet, here they are!1!
And I dont even need videos to confirm this. My stripper friend says married men propose to her all the time
I know this went from Deadpool to being angry at the straight again, but I just thought I'd keep it to one post, since people have hated on Ryan but they're like the only straight couple I have faith in (aside from my straight friends, I love my straight friends, I wouldnt attend the weddings otherwise lmao)
Like I just... like, women... If you look at your man and dont think he's the one, if you look at your man and think there's a possibility he may cheat on you, if you look at your man and think that you wouldn't put your life on the line for him bc he's not your soulmate
Then leave
Be single or wait, patiently, until you find the one. The women posting these videos constantly make me so sad bc I know they're not leaving these useless ass men! That pregnant woman is just like :( when her bf is looking at other women, but she's like 'oh well! At least I'm the one that has him! ;)'

Speaking of Charity, 3/26 our cool folks at Heroes for Higher went to the children's hospital for a visit. I frantically printed more Mario coins the night before and I am so glad I did! It really made a big difference and a big impact, so I'm definitely making this a staple for the future! If you can bring some joy to those suffering, especially children, even for a little bit, it is all worthwhile!

fave male characters tag
i was tagged by @thornyrose463, thank you so much!
rules: list your favorite male characters from ten different fandoms and tag ten people to do the same
1. nikolai lantsov from the grishaverse
do i even need an explanation? nikolai is nikolai. honestly i was obsessed from the first mention of sturmhond. i hate not being able to pick jesper or kaz for the grishaverse, but overall nikolai is simply the only option
2. scott mccall from teen wolf
listen i realize that having teen wolf on here as my #2 fandom is not my highest point but i cannot help it. scott gave us everything! name one other show protagonist who was that dedicated to helping others, you can’t. scott mccall rights forever
3. peter maximoff from xmen
my fave. no other words needed. i wish he got more scenes than his token one fast scene per movie but we can’t have everything
4. davey jacobs from newsies live
listen he has to be here! davey has a special place in my heart. my #2 favorite male character from newsies is just...every single ensemble character at once... also how is it that davey is everything yet les jacobs is someone that i wish to punt across a football field
5. percy jackson from the riordanverse
i wanted to be him. words cannot describe it.
6. andrew garfield spider-man from marvel
yes i can count all variations of marvel in one fandom yet have xmen separate! don’t ask questions. i still stand by the fact that andrew garfield had the best take on spiderman, and he is wonderful
7. fred weasley from harry potter
he’s just a comfort character i’m sorry our outgoing bf/introvert gf energy would be unmatched
8. edmund pevensie from narnia
edmund just gets it! feeling like you want to be equally respected in your family yet never quite seeming to be the same as everyone else. i love narnia but edmund... he just is
9. aragorn from lord of the rings
my fave from that first shot of him in the prancing pony in bree. the way he was just sick of everyone in that group except for legolas? iconic. his loyalty? unwavering. that’s a man
10. luke skywalker from star wars
star wars was my original obsession when i was little. i mean literally i cannot say this enough. i used to swap oddly specific trivia questions with my dad at the age of like ten and i always got them right. needless to say i wanted to be luke with my full heart
this was so much fun! no pressure tags: @thatfangirl42, @hiya-its-amber, @lxncelot, @amortensie, @thereagles, @venecs, @aleksanderwh0r3, @neewtmas, and anyone else who wants to do it!

could you recommend comics that quicksilvers in? i’m discovering. a love.
i never get to talk about pietro anymore because the bitch is never in anything thats good but. u have come to the right place. this is long because he’s been around since like. the 70s so ive bolded important and/or fun things
if you want just a quick introduction before reading events and stuff, here is the twins’ preferred origin (but you’re probably gonna read about 15 others)
there’s also uncanny origins #2
uncanny xmen v1 #4-7 - first appearance of the twins
avengers vol 1 #16-49
back to uncanny #43-45
amazing spiderman vol 1 #71
back to avengers #60-110 is pretty essential but from 60 onwards he’s there almost consistently with varying importance so id recommend carrying on but some important issues
#137, #170-177, #181-187, #329-343, an arc called blood ties started in avengers #368 and carries on through some of the other ongoings below but if u wanna just skip to the important bits, here’s a list , #401
i dont like vision and the scarlet witch for obvious reasons but pietro does make very regular appearances
avengers west coast #56 onwards
xfactor vol 1 #71 onwards
amongst xfactor and uncanny vol 1 there was the x-cutioners’s song and fatal attractions, which if you dont want to read through less important issues, you could just read that instead, so here’s a list for that
he had a solo!!! its very 90s but its a favourite of mine
magneto rex
magneto: dark seduction
avengers vol 2 #1-3, #41-52xmen 1991 #111
whilst i absolutely do not recommend house of m as a story, i do think it says a lot about pietro n how he has good intentions and most of the things he does are out of love but he goes about it in the wrong way, so unfortunately here’s a disassembled/house of m reading order and also one for decimation. if u really dont wanna go through all of that, which i dont blame you, just read the main house of m title and then son of m
xfactor vol 2 #8-13, #17-23 and then he had his own special issue called the quick & the dead, #260
silent war was an inhumans event but pietro and crystal were obviously married so here’s a list for that
mighty avengers #21-36
avengers academy
i am an avenger #2, #5
avengers: the children’s crusade
all new x-factor
avengers & xmen: axis - nothing good happened, it was just another origin retcon
uncanny avengers - follows and explands on the origin retcon
all new all different avengers
scarlet witch vol 2 #9
avengers then went back to its original numbering so avengers vol 1 #675-688
quicksilver: no surrender
secret wars: house of m is an au and its like. ok its fine. BUT pietro and namor are enemies AND lovers all at once

Tom Holland is a good actor, a great spiderman. I won’t say anything negative about his performance.
No Way Home essentially ruined the character.
Anyone can be a superhero. Xmen has hundreds of characters with awesome superpowers but very few of them are good characters. DC has several characters in the comics with squandered potential. Superman and Shazam and Aquaman are all capable of being great characters as we’ve seen from recent films, but in a lot of the comics they’re just vehicles to deliver plot with. oh superman needs to freeze something, he has magical frost breath; magic eye lasers; magic telekinesis; MAGIC FUCKIN FABRIC S HE THROWS AT YOU THAT MAKES YOU FALL OVER FOR TEN SECONDS AND THEN BE FINE. Shazam goes Shazam and magic beans go and do a thing. Aquaman is like FIIIIIIISH and fish go do some random bullshit. The good stories involving them are in the minority, especially in comparison to Batman. Now, it’s ludicrously difficult to fuck up Batman. He is easily the best thing DC has ever made. He has the best and strongest character writing of any DC superhero, and in fact, nearly every marvel superhero too. Dark Horse wishes they were on the level- much as I love hellboy spawn & umbrella but they are so many levels below batman levels of iconic. Try listing iconic metal bands and convincing anyone that above megadeth pantera slayer and cannibal corpse should be fucking MGK. and I say that liking some of his work (but goddamn is he such a fucking scumbag douchelord sometimes). Anyway Marvel has its fair share of great characters but a lot of them are… bad. at least nowadays. no love for gambit or psylocke or firestar or magma or polaris. fucking polaris, you know, quicksilver and scarlet witch’s sister? I think. maybe. I don’t know, there’s too many comics out there to worry about all of it. but that’s the thing. the market is oversaturated. there’s too many cool powers but not enough character development.
and then there’s spiderman.
I daresay spiderman is marvel’s greatest creation. he is marvel’s batman; the best of the best, the cream of the crop, characterisation perfected. if not the best he is definitely up there. and he’s definitely the most loved.
and for good reason! spiderman is special not because his powers are super unique and interesting in the realm of comics. ok yeah he’s fast and strong and he can do spider webs and he can fight. but there are a lot of spidermans out there. way too many. even scorpion and doc ock and uncle ben and j jonah jameson have all been spiderman once. same powers for the most part. but we don’t really care about most of them. and why? because peter parker is easily the best //character//. and don’t worry, miles is a close second. in fact, spiderverse is probably the best spiderman movie of the 10 based on everything that isn’t spiderman related. miles and peter both have very strong developed characters that have nothing to do with the spiderman persona. this is what makes spiderman special. he’s not just spiderman. he’s peter parker. he’s miles morales. he’s all of us. we are all spiderman. we can relate to him. we can see ourselves in him. no matter what walk of life you come from, we can all understand where he comes from; he’s just some dude. but he’s a good person. we got to see him as peter or miles for a long time before he got bit by that spider. well… except for holland. but that’s fine because where the other peter films faltered was in things besides peter. but not the mcu spidermans. if anything, this is the best spiderman that has ever graced film… spiderverse is an animation which is valid and great but we can all agree that they’re different mediums, and that spiderverse is easily a 10/10 whereas all the others range from 7-9. yes, spiderman 3 and the amazing spiderman are both 7s. no lower. don’t question me. ok anyway the point is we all love spiderman and peter parker.
mcu spiderman operates a little differently. in civil war he’s already established as a friendly neighborhood spiderman; he’s where we were at in the sequels in his cameo in steve rogers’ trilogy finale and tony stark’s initiation into Definitive Main Protagonist territory and T’challa’s introduction and Scott Lang’s return to form and etc etc. he’s just there to help tony stop steve from committing war crimes. we get time with both peter and spiderman. we get a sense of his character. he’s just a young kid with bright eyes and starry dreams and a real sense of duty. he understands that with great power… you know the rest. it’s an establishment of his place in the universe. we’ve already killed uncle ben, we don’t need to rehash that. we know who he is. we get it. and that’s what made civil war such a great film; it is easily by far the best ensemble writing in the entire franchise.
then in peter’s solo romp we get more of peter himself. he’s only spiderman for a short time in the film, and even then most of it he’s not using his powers to fight, he’s fully injecting his personality into every scene. we can see how much he looks up to stark and how much he wants to help the avengers and how much he’s willing to give up popularity and homecoming and the mathletics and good graces of school staff for the sake of being the hero that the plot demanded. he is not a superpower to deliver plot; the plot happens and he has to react to it. homecoming was a phenomenal spiderman movie and deserved all of the high marks it got. and then infinity war happened and, he was also good in that too. and then he died. and then endgame happened and he came back to life! but then tony died. and he was sad. very sad. the sadness bled into far from home and he found a new mentor in fury who was actually talos, he pursued the other side of the coin that was wishing to be the peter he wanted to be now that the world demanded spiderman in the wake of stark’s loss, he realized that he’s not a kid anymore and he can’t afford to be so selfish because of that whole great power thing. he found a happy medium.
and then jameson had to go and fuck it up /positive
(I loved that cameo)
and
this is where the positivity ends.
I fucking hated no way home.
I genuinely think it ruined spiderman for the future of the mcu.
it affirmed my belief that endgame and far from home are the absolute final pieces of the marvel puzzle that will constitute my enjoyment. no more. never again. it’s over. I am perfectly satisfied with it ending there.
now, don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy most of it. I liked doctor strange taking on the mantle of mentorship. I liked the way they brought together a bunch of the untied plot threads of the amazing duology, and the fanservice from raimi’s trilogy was comforting. I felt like 3 ended as well as it could have and sufficiently tied it all together, so maguire (and norman) functioned to give us the uncle ben moment that was such an effective gut punch that came from out of nowhere especially after teasing her and happy together. it felt like iron man 4; we saw that they could move on from the grief of his loss. but then right smack dab in the middle BOOM we get a devastating tragedy right when the plot needed a kick in the pants. and the final fight scene was very well done; right up to the moment maguire stopped holland from stabbing norman AND THEN EVEN AFTER THAT. the movie ended with everything going back to normal.
…god I wish I could say that.
STUPID FUCKING GODDAMN MULTIVERSE PHASE FIVE DISNEY GREEDY CORPORATE MEDDLING BULLSHIT
sorry, I had to get that out of my system
ok so yeah the multiverse almost fucking exploded and then the universe had to purge its knowledge of peter parker. you know, the one thing that makes spiderman special. now he’s just a sad boy with dead parents and a magic nanobot suit. completely indistinguishable from a whole host of boring garbage saturating the market. so whatever the fuck disney is forcing its people to do with a gun to their heads is gonna be just… so fucking bad. I don’t care anymore. I legit don’t give a shit. They took a promising start to a long franchise and just squished it into the dirt because they want wanda to be the next thanos. they should have ended it a long fucking time ago. and now they’re going to force keaton back in it and force us to acknowledge morbius and ruin venom and come up with some random dumbass bullshit to fill a sinister six roster. I am so fucking disappointed with disney for screwing get more actors of color out of long contracts. I’m not shocked at all that downey evans & holland and all the other white men get like 400 billion dollars. it’s an atrocious travesty. my baby is aflame.
Spiderman is dead.
Marvel is dead.
The mcu is over and I don’t give a shit about it anymore.
I’m gonna write my own fix it fic and slap a flex tape on that shit and make it all better because I’m a better writer than whoever’s pulling the strings right now.

Is it's a different version of Peter than the ones from the films, it might just be a way for the writers to use the parts of the Xmen films they like and ignore the parts they don't (cough Dark Phoenix cough). Fietro's personality is so similar to Peter's that there's no way they aren't closely related even if they aren't the exact same person
You’re right!
And spiderman 3 villains (Foxx, Molina) will apparently be redesigned/rebooted (but that could be due to the fact that they died in previous movies), so there’s a small chance they redesign Peter a bit as well.
I still think he’s Fox’s Quicksilver, because having a third version of Quicksilver, who is based on X-Men’s Peter, but isn’t the exact same character, could potentially be just a tad too confusing for the general public, but at the same time I wouldn’t be surprised if they tweaked his character a bit to fit into the mcu. Perhaps his powers will be ‘nerfed’ a bit or maybe they even say goodbye to his silver hair for good, among other things, like his backstory and family.
Regardless of what he is, fox’s Peter, or just multiverse Peter, he’s 1000% quicksilver, based on fox’s Peter.

One of the best things about The Big Bang Theory is that no matter how much the main characters transform and grow over the years, they’re still incredibly similar to the people whom viewers’ first met in season 1. Characters like Amy and Bernadette have shifted a bit personality-wise since their first episode, but they’re consistent more than not.
RELATED: One Quote From Each Character Of TBBT That Perfectly Sums Up Their Personality
However, there are rare moments where the main characters said things that weren’t aligned with their personalities. Everyone from Howard to Penny had moments that seemed unusual for their typical behavior.
7 Penny: “In Fact Recently, I’ve Been Thinking That Given The Parameters Of Your Experiment, The Transport Of Electrons Through The Aperture Of The Nano-Fabricated Metal Rings Is Qualitatively No Different Than The Experiment Already Conducted In The Netherlands.”
When Penny and Leonard began dating, Penny wanted to understand what Leonard did for work. With physics outside the realm of Penny’s understanding, Sheldon promised to teach her a thing or two. Penny didn’t care what opinions others had of her dating Leonard, but she wanted to at least understand what he was working on.
After a long and tiring lesson from Sheldon, Penny learned two long-winded sentences that she recited in front of the group. What she said was true and completely out of character, which is why the group had their tongues hanging out of their mouths as she spoke.
6 Leonard: “Right. Just Kissing. It Wasn’t Even Very Good. She Was A Smoker. I’d Just Been Seasick…”
It was a smart career decision for Leonard to go away at sea to work with Professor Stephen Hawking’s scientific group as he would be a part of history if their experiment went well. But the trip seemed to be more play than work for Leonard.
RELATED: Leonard’s 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Career Decisions On The Big Bang Theory
When Leonard came back from sea and was about to walk down the aisle with Penny, he admitted that he had cheated on her while he was on the ship. Everything he was saying was completely out of character because he had fought to be with Penny for years. Why would he throw it away for a kiss at sea? Penny (and fans) were disappointed at Leonard for how he treated her.
5 Sheldon: “We Lock That Door, Lower Our Underpants A Little, And Make A Baby.”
It took Sheldon years to be comfortable enough with Amy to call her his girlfriend. It took him even longer to ask him to marry her. But somewhere in between the rollercoaster of their relationship, Sheldon and Amy did an experiment on the combination of their genes. Seeing how brilliant the results were, Amy couldn’t wait to replicate the results. Sheldon, on the other hand, had another idea: he wanted to make a baby.
The realization that they could produce a genius made Sheldon excited. But hearing him say, “We lock that door, lower our underpants a little, and make a baby” was one of the best, albeit, shocking quotes Sheldon has ever said. Sheldon is not fond of personal intimacy, so for him to want to procreate was uncharacteristic for him.
4 Howard: “She Wants A Commitment And I’m Not Sure She’s My Type.”
When Howard and Bernadette first started dating, Howard slowly stopped answering her calls. The ups and downs of their relationship were relatable for viewers, but fans couldn’t help but wonder if Howard realized how good he had it with Bernadette.
RELATED: 10 Ways Howard & Bernadette Are The Most Relatable Couple From The Big Bang Theory
Howard was always trying to land himself a girlfriend, and now that he had one that was as beautiful and smart as Bernadette, it was odd that he was suddenly not fond of “commitment.” Out of all the men, Howard was the most desperate for affection.
3 Raj: “Koothrappali Out. God Bless That Boy, I Don’t Know What I’d Do Without Him.”
If there’s one thing that fans would change about Raj’s storyline in TBBT, it would be that he got the happy ending he desperately wanted since season 1. He wanted a wife and kids more than his friends — he even shot his shot with Penny.
In an episode where Raj won an award from People magazine, his personality began to shift. He suddenly thought he was better than his friends and could get any woman he wanted. In one scene, he was on the phone talking to his assistant and sounded cocky and better than everyone else. It’s rare that viewers heard Raj say “Koothrappali out” on the phone, or even rely so heavily on an assistant he had for one day.
2 Amy: “Now, Before This Goes Any Further, You Should Know That All Forms Of Physical Contact Up To And Including Coitus Are Off The Table.”
Amy is one character who changed the most throughout the series. She transformed from a robotic and shy woman to someone who was outwardly sexual and spoke her mind.
At the start, Amy told Sheldon that “all forms of physical contact” were off the table. This is incredibly out of character for the Amy fans know in season 12 because Amy practically begs Sheldon for hugs and forms of intimacy. It’s hard to picture her not wanting to sleep with Sheldon when she asked him to get physical with her for years.
1 Bernadette: “Does She Pick Your Clothes For You In The Morning Like You’re Nine Years Old?”
When Bernadette and Howard go on their first date, the only thing the two have in common is their overbearing mothers. The two shared stories of how domineering their mothers were, with Bernadette claiming her mom still picked out her clothes. This was incredibly strange because as fans get to know Bernadette, they see how independent she is. Her mother is rarely in her life and she judges Howard for how close he is with his mother. The inconsistent quote from Bernadette was out of character for her because it didn’t match her reality.

August Roundup
August felt like a lot of doldrums, as usual, which is nuts because I actually got out of the city for the first time in 0.75 years, and got to flee a hurricane in doing so. some actually decent-looking job opportunities helped with this at the end, but generally was feeling in a rut until literally last week.
I’ve set aside Beckett’s trilogy for now, having been completely incapable of focusing on Molloy. I get that the formatting and structural choices are what makes that book interesting, but they’re also what makes it impossible for me to read at length. If there were line breaks, if the margins were even slightly uneven, I might have a chance, but alas. Was worried for a bit (as usual) that twitter use has caused harm to my attention span (and to be fair it almost definitely has), but then I started in on the Master and Margarita, which has been completely compelling so far! Wonderful book that I’m looking forward to reading more of! Top-tier The Devil depiction.
I’ll figure out Beckett later, in general the capacity to focus on things that are boring me is something I’d like to train back up.
I beat Sekiro after 65 hours, which probably means I’m going to be adrift for a bit wrt games while I recalibrate around not having this particular use of my time for a bit. Overall compared to Souls stuff, the highs were higher and the lows were lower. Dark Souls 1  made me angry only once, whereas Sekiro had me pretty routinely cursing at the screen. When the fights were good, though, they were all-time; enormously satisfying to learn and beat.
S.O. and I are in the middle of two tv/film-watching projects: 1.) Watching the entirety of the X-files, old and new, bad & good episodes, in order, no skipping; 2.) Chronological rewatch of comic book movies (specifically marvel), starting from howard the duck.
The superhero thing has been interesting, mostly in how fuckin much marvel’s audience allows them to get away with these days. You can really feel the intended audience for these shift over time. Earlier stuff was like comic properties adapted into action movies, alongside Sam Raimi being allowed to go nuts with the spiderman movies, with, like, x-men series then trying to ham-fistedly inject comic lore fanservice, because... that was the audience at that point. These were always popular, but they’re really properly mainstream now in a way they never used to be. The pandering’s all different now. Rewatching that Fantastic 4 movie and xmen 3, it’s like... I remember these being widely derided at the time, mostly by comics nerd people, but in hindsight, they’re just fucking mediocre. xmen3 in particular compares kind of favorably to later avengers, which is fucking hilarious. Other notworthiness: Ang Lee Hulk actually pretty good, Ghost Rider not nearly as funny as I remember it being, Blade 3 for some reason decided to not be a wesley snipes action movie in favor of being a ryan reynolds quip vehicle, Elektra is impressively bad and boring, Punisher is impossible to watch without thinking about that fucking logo and its connection with right-wing radicalism nowadays.
Speaking of, goddamn x-files, man. Slogged through the end of the old series, started in on the reboot, and the reboot mostly just throws into relief how much this show always sucked. it’s always been bad! The new seasons are structured and paced pretty much exactly like the old ones, and without the 90s-00s quaintness to offset things, the thing just doesn’t function. Critics writing retrospectives on the old seasons or writeups of the new ones mostly sound fucking ridiculous because they keep approaching with this reverence like it was ever a good show! The “myth arc” was consistently worse-written than the monster episodes, which at least were sometimes fun and compelling. No Payoffs! Right, the “Speaking of”, though. Much like Punisher can’t be witnessed without just thinking of militia goons, the first season of x-files reboot goes full-tilt antivax agitprop in the finale. They released that in 2016! Joel McHale plays a fucking Alex Jones type and they’re like “let’s have him be right, he is the truth-speaker against the government!”. On a more fundamental level, though, it’s a show that ended it’s original run with an honest-to-god mayan calendar 2012 hook, ended the first reboot season with a craAaAaAzy cliffhanger, then opened the next season with an “it was all a dream”. Bush-league work, start-to-finish.
I also rewatched The Lighthouse this month, which still absolutely rules.

WandaVision Theory
Okay so this contains some spoilers (mostly specculation really) from wanda vision so... spoilers below cut.
We have all seen the casting for Spiderman 3 & Doctor strange 2.... It includes people like: Andrew Garfield (spiderman) Tobey Maguire (Spiderman) Xochitl Gomez (America Chavez) Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) Tom Hiddleston (Loki) Among others.... lots of universes being mixed here guys. So I have a theory... Blame my friend for this thing being birthed she had to listen to this as it came out. Peter/Pietro (since xmen pietro is called peter, but wanda knows his as pietro) maximoff is Loki, last we saw loki he had the tesseract and was fleeing, loki is trying to find out the state of the awvengers post end game, and yeah loki likes to fuck with thor & in the comics he lovveeesss just winding people up (God of mischief ffs), so he is trying to find out what the fuck is going on, he is curious about wanda's level of powers (like she is one of the most powerful mcu characters, hes gunna be curious), wanda as we know has a town hostage and is controlling everything, this is similar to avenegrs where loki wanted to rule earth, so hes seeing if she could be of use to him/try figure out a way to get his end goal. End of wanda vision season 1 - wanda looses complete control, she snaps. She breaks the multi verse because she has been believing this pietro is her pietro but with a different face... she finds out it is loki in pietros body which causes her to loose total control and snap a rift in the multi verse OR sword cause her so much stress, vision is questionign everything/realises what wanda did (Sees the footage maybe?) or she has to watch him die again and wanda is so torn over by emotion that she looses control, pietro/loki then realises that oh fuck this is about to go down and wanda uses her powers to try control more and either knocks pietro loki back into loki for or loki shifts just before to do a reveal, he may even try and fix this and help wanda because he knows intense powers and notice she is going insane????? But this ends in her bringing in all the spidermen into the MCU. Bringing deadpool with em. Bringing america chavez with them (She lives in a paralel universe and thats where she got her powers so wanda drags her into MCU because hey, she snapped). Doc strange 2 happens which is about the multi verse. Strange appears at end of wanda vision kinda like "Oh no...." like he's seeing what is about to happen and sees wanda is about to cause he doesnt see this coming,  So doc strange 2 is now begining wanda has lost control and merged all theses universes into one - sony, fox, the new characters universe etc etc etc are now all in the MCU universe there is many spider men now (Like into the spider verse) kidna like that level of how it happens they just got ripped into this reality. In spider man 3 this is also playing a part because all the spidermen are still here (Showing this could be a long winded issue/they cant get back to their universe because wanda doesnt know how she did it, doesnt want to do it/cant do it again) Back to doc strange 3 - this movie will be directly dealing with the immediate backlash of this, the many spidermen, deadpool, america chavez all appearing, strange realising what has happened, trying to fix this, loki also there because he doesnt even know whats happened but DAMN is he interested because THIS level of power.... thats interesting to him. Loki's disney+ series happens after the multi verse of madness/during it (like loki's show is bought up in it like "lokis fucking president?!?!?!" like thats another thing thats gone wrong from wanda's melt down and destroying the multi verse, and another thing for strange to to and do damage control on. wanda cant fix this, shes now gone fully off rails, if she watches vision die twice she wont be coming back from that we know. so strange is also trying to help her on how to use her powers as she never reallllly has had training, strange might know people who can help her deal with this insane amount of power. Strange cant fix this alone he needs wanda to try and fix this, and the issue could be a permenant one ( i recon it will be permenant and all wwhat phase 4 & 5 will be about) Doctor strange 2 sees them going between thesee multi verse's they have discovered (maybe strqange & wanda, maybe strange & wong, maybe wanda and someone else who knows... but they are trying to find out how far this damage has gone End of doctor strange is them realising this isnt a quick fix, the world has gone insane as there is all these new ones, ("WHY ARE THERE 3 SPIDER MEN!" - JJJ shouts (cause hey he was in the tobey mcguire spidermen ffs we get him with this package too) spider man 3 then happens & tom holland (The spider men will be refered to by their actors names) see's that um theres another spider man??? what the??? he finds him and they all find out they are the same spider man. This movie plays out similary to into the spiderverse but they dont all go at the end of it because this is a long winded issue. But... now we have america chavez, shes just been bumbling round the MCU being a hero cause she's here.... Monica as you rememebr from wanda vision has her internal sequencing rewritten each time she goes through the hex, this gives her powers cause she has gone through the hex so much at this stage in wanda vision.... So Monica = Photon America Chavez Cassie = Stature Kate bishop = Hawkeye Tom holland = Spiderman How did kate get here and Cassie? KATE So clint stepped down, hawkeye disney+ seems to be like fractions, clints training kate (maybe his family left after end game because jfc clint is probs a wreck, or clint didnt stop so hsi wife left.... maybe they live in iowa happily who knows) Clint was going solo for a while in newyork, when he met this other hawkeye (Hey maybe kate got dragged through the multi verse or maybe she was just a great archer rich kid in newyork who saw hawkeye had fucked off after the blip (maybe she was working during the blip, but towards the end? in comics she took hawkeye mantle while clint was off beign a depressed noodle and he then found out there was 2 hawkeyes and confronted ehr and agreed to train her so maybe somehting simialr to this is what happens in hawkeye) But anyway Clints training kate in new york and yeah shes good. CASSIE Scott after end game & Hope continue being antman and the wasp, but cassie eventually takes over the suit from them (Maybe something happens in antman 3 quantamania that means neither scott or hope can use the suits any more because it will tear them apart, like hank cant use the suits because it takes too much of a toll on his body now and he wouldnt surive it really...) so cassie has taken over the suits and is now operating under the code name stature. This then begins the next arc for the avengers now they have got people powered up, and atleast 1 person from this destruction of the multi verse (America chavez) but we may have more that are discovered over the course of phase 4 that were bought through with the multi verse. So, where does this go??? The young avengers is the next big arc.... Maybe wanda (&peter maximoff? not sure how that would work as young piettro (evan peters one) was from the 80s or something in xmen so is an adult not a kid like he is in wanda vision, which adds to my this isnt pietro but loki thing) But maybe wanda is leading them, maybe not. But the multi verse cant be fixed so they have these heroes now and the avengers kinda died after end game cause tony died and steve fucked off. Sam helps train but hes off with bucky alot too doing a buddy up thing together, but as sam is the new cap he also heads up this young avengers kinda as a mentor for them. Now... right now your pronbs thinking "Morgan stark though" Morgan has a suit... but morgan is still even in 2030 (hawkeye is 2025...) morgan would only be 7..... so she isnt really old enough.... But who else had an iron man suit in the comics? who may of got dragged through the multi verse? Enter riri williams aka iron heart. That takes us up to about end of phase 5 with the rise of the young avengers & champions maybe??? Hi and thanks for coming to my ted talk

Young avengers & Runaways comic books reading order (new)
Like I’ve said in a previous post, I’m very new to the comic book universe. I really wanted a reading order to 2 of my favorite comic book teams: the young avengers and the runaways. The runaways already made it on screen with their tv show, that is being renewed for a third season. The young avengers have not made it (yet). After watching Avengers: Endgame, it seems logical to introduce them (even more) to the marvel universe. Cassie Lang/Stature already has been introduced in Endgame, so maybe it’s time for the others as well. For those who are intrested in the young avengers and the runaways, but would also like to read the main events of the marvel universe, hopefully this is a POTENTIAL (maybe not so complete at the end) reading order: For those who want to add comics to the list or want to correct my reading order, please please please comment down below! Send Help: Addicted to Roleplay and Chipotle
Greetings from Earth! First time poster to this blog and stoked to meet some new partners. My name is Chris and I'm a male nurse (Yo, you're going to get some medically accurate roleplay) in his late twenties. I have a lovely wife and two stupidly handsome animals (Pictures of the animals available on request) but manage to maintain a pretty active roleplay life due to the fact that I work nights. The Basics: I tell everyone that I'm a professional. I try to reply 1-3 times a week and the length of posts depends on amount of characters in play. If I'm going to take longer, I always try to let you know. I'm willing to write male and female characters and focus on M/F as the male and F/F. M/M just isn't my thing, sorry y'all. My limits include pedophilia, rape, and animal abuse. Anything else can be discussed. I prefer e-mail for writing ([email protected]) but have Discord for plotting (NurseBatman#3674). If we get along really well, you can convince me into discord roleplay. The text limit just drives me nuts. I do use faceclaims pretty aggressively. Is there anything else? Central time zone?
Onto the roleplay stuff. I'll start with originals and then dive into fandoms. I put extra *s by the lines that I will literally lose my mind if you approach me about. Searching hard! -The Social Media Age****** A m/f line that I've given a little thought to, looking for someone to write a young woman that is pretty much making her living being an instagram model/fitness person, etc. I think the proper term is *Influencer*. Meets and starts dating a successful guy with no presence online, the two falling for each other but at odds over their differing attitudes towards the world. -This American Life Something set in the 1970s, focusing on a roadtrip. A group of teenagers leave their small town behind to head out west. I love this time period. Can be supernatural, supernatural lite (think Twin Peaks weirdness) or totally natural. -Stranger Things inspired A group of four to six friends enjoy their last summer together in a remote town as strangeness begins to unfurl. I'd be willing to set this in the present but think it would be way more fun in the 70s or 80s. I have an idea for one of the kids having lost a sibling in a strange way when they were young and possibly some sort of cult in town.
Fandoms!
-Star Wars**
I know Reylo is all the rage these days, as is Qi'Ra/Han. But, man ALIVE, I really want something focusing on the core four: Luke, Leia, Han, and, ya boy, Chewie. Something taking place in that three year gap between New Hope and Empire as they work among the rebellion. Strange new worlds, getting into scrapes, sharply running from the empire, avoiding Vader, bounty hunters, and all sorts of things. This time period is far from explored and we can really thrive in the galaxy. Primarily I want to focus on the budding relationship between Han and Leia and Luke's training, pre-Yoda. In a perfect world, I'd want to write Han and Chewie (If anyone thinks Chewie is just a NPC, get out my face) while my partner takes on Leia and Luke. I'd be willing to switch out Chewie for Luke if need be, I guess? We could also split up C3PO and R2. I also would enjoy writing a young Amilyn Holdo and a few other soldiers. Let's real build out the resistance and delve into the 'WARS' part of those big yellow letters that never get enough attention. On top of all of that, I also have an original love interest in mind for Luke if someone else plays him! She's a spitfire. Alternatively, I'd be down for writing something set in the clone wars. Perhaps two jedi that broke the order's relationship laws and then survived Order 66 together? -Preacher Seriously. Love this show, love this comic. Would happily write Jesse or Cassidy against Tulip. Just definitely looking for a Tulip -The Boys Would love to write Hughie against Starlight! Currently working my way through the season that just dropped. -Marvel -I will love you forever if you write an Elektra against my Daredevil. They are toxic and in love and I love it. Whether it be the comics or the Netflix series, I don't care. Someone please write me an Elektra. Netflix did a good job of portraying this one -Alternatively, I'd also be happy to write against a Black Widow, either with Daredevil. They were a mainstay OTP in the comics in the 90s and I'd love to write against Scarlet's Black Widow. -Has anyone seen the trailer for the neverendingly delayed New Mutants movie? I would love to write something based on that horror aspect of the mutant universe.* -I'd love to write an older MCU Peter Parker (like college) running across a MCU version of Black Cat. Or just a Spiderman roleplay in general. I've always wanted to write Peter but have never gotten the chance! I have a ton of ideas for this, plus faceclaims for a few of the villains. Would also be willing to play him against Zendaya's MJ, Spidergwen, or Silk (Deepcut)**************************** (I so badly want to write Peter) -One of the pairings that was done for a time in the comics was Star Lord against Kitty Pryde and it was actually a lot of fun. If anyone would want to do a MCU version of this, I would so *DOWN* to play Quill, Xmen hijinks a plenty in space -If you write Jessica Jones, I'd be willing to write almost anyone against her (NOT KILGRAVE). Just let me know. I'd be super down to write Luke Cage or maybe Matt Murdock. I do a mean John Constantine, which, let's face it, is a cross company illustration of the two most terrible people together -Hawkguys! I would love to either write Clint against Kate Bishop (This would be a slightly skewed MCU vibe) or Kate against America Chavez. I would really love to do either of these lines. Or a poly version if someone is willing! -I'd love to write Logan as an active member of the MCU Avengers, possibly as a partner in crime/wetworks/murder with Black Widow. Those two could cause some mayhem. -Honestly, any X-men relationship could be sold to me. Just try it. I would love to find a Kitty for Piotr, a Rogue for Remy, or almost anyone for Kurt.
-DC I'd love to write Batman against Catwoman, please. Or John Constantine against literally almost anyone -Hannibal I've been dying to do a sort of season 4 for a while now, focused on Clarice Starlings interaction with Will Graham and later Hannibal Lecter. Just need to find someone willing to create an original style Clarice. -Resident Evil I'd like to write Leon against Claire Redfield or Jill Valentine in an original outbreak or a new one. I know this is an old school fandom but I'm a diehard fan. -Star Trek Okay, so first up, I am not the most well versed Trekkie in the world. Never watched any of the TV shows but am a massive fan of the trio of rebooted films and would love to give Kirk or Bones a try against Uhura, Dr. Eve, or maybe a female Vulcan OC? Hit me with ideas! -The Matrix Another obscure fandom. Maybe just an original crew, set during the movies, after, or an AU where they're the only survivors of Zion? Im not sure but I could plot something out!
-Uncharted I'd love to write Chloe Frazier against Nadine Ross, continuing their adventures. I'm pretty wide open on what we can do with this one. RANDOM CRACK SHIPS! Caught in a Web: I would love to write an iteration (Daniel Craig or an original) of James Bond/007 against a non superhero version of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. Spy vs spy shenanigans as two people working for different governments. Totally impossibly but putting it just in case: Did anyone see all that Wonder Woman/Lara Croft art that was floating around the internet earlier this year? I would love to dive into that. I'd prefer to write Lara but I'm definitely not picky. If you made it this far, you're a hero and I owe you a beer. Hope to hear from some great writers! Let's create something *EPIC*

Thoughts at 6pm...
I am not a big comic book fan, there’s really only 3 or 4 that I ever really enjoyed. One of them being The Punisher.
One of the things I hated about it was how disjointed and all over the place the fucking marvel universe was! I didn’t want to buy 5 fucking spiderman comics just to understand what was happening in the punisher series, or have 500 fucking crossovers at way too much money for each for storylines that were stupid to me. If I wanted to read about doctor strange and xmen, I’d buy their fucking comics... and I don’t! and I never wanted to!
I want my angry dude with a rifle killing drug dealers and criminals and being grumpy about it. The End.
BUT... thanks to the modern technology era, and the fact that libraries and stuff have all of these fucking comics available for free to read at will, I’ve started going through and trying to figure out the reading order for my guy Castle.
This is... HELL. But it’s less hell than say a Batman, Superman, Spidey, or popular dude. Punisher was only in less than a thousand comics thank god, but still... annoying when it jumps from new warriors, to war journalk, to xmen, to punisher, to war zone, to doctor strange, to moon knight, to wolverine, to 2 different spidermen series. Oy.

the extent of my knowledge of any marvel and dc comics stuff is as follows:
there was a civil war in marvel, and it was the loosest basis for the movie
there was a second marvel civil war, but I think this one was between the xmen and the avengers
actually I think there was also a different marvel war between xmen and the avengers
The mutant cure plot from that one xmen movie was definitely pulled from a comic storyline
X-Men: Days of Future Past
I think that Apocalypse guy is also a comic book storyline? yeah
The Ultron One
Thanos is The Almighty Chad (Infinity War the not-movie)
there’s this green lantern one with zombies?
That Red Hood Batman Comic
Apparently Iron Man 3 is also based on a comic storyline?
Flashpoint Is A Thing
Crisis on Infinite Earths is... idk what this is but I know this is the name
Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman
Spiderman but it’s Doc Ock in a bodyswap
That DC crossover thing with Watchmen
the Daredevil where Kingpin flips a table, I guess people love that one
one time I was at the library and came across this Arkham Asylum one but it was laid out like a buncha surrealist paintings and photographs
That Really Famous Joker Story With The Camera
Bane doing that whole “breaking Batman’s back” thing
Thor, but a woman
Miles Morales
Norman Osborne became Not-IronMan at some point??
Superman dies, but not really
Wanda Maximoff experiences the Five Stages of Grief and does an Evil Willow
Batawang
Ric Grayson
and like I know that there’s a whole lotta cool stuff somewhere in there but I have no clue about any of it or what to look for in a comic book store that’s closing up shop
or even what comics that aren’t marvel or dc but y’all think I should check out/would enjoy

Hey I really wanna get into marvel comics and wanna read more up to date stuff but i cant really figure out a good jump in point? ive tried searching online for help but its useless.... Im really into spiderman and xmen, gaurdians and basically and girl superheros cuz im all about that girl power
Good question, because comics have been coming out for decades so it can be pretty intimidating hopping into a series that has had over 500 issues. I’ve only read like a couple thousand comics, which sounds like a lot but really isn’t, you’re never going to read them all, but you can read what you like!
Personally, I think the 2004 Astonishing X-Men #1, written by Joss Whedon, can be a pretty good starting point. You read #1-24, then the Giant-Size Astonishing X-Men #1 that follows that up. Big drop in quality for Astonishing for a bit after that, maybe leave it there and come back to it another time. Next, what I consider the main X-Men series, Uncanny X-Men, you can start at about #500 (2008) and go up to #544 (2011) where it cuts off.
You can also read solo series for X-Men characters, such as Mystique #1-24 from 2003-05, which is one of my favorite solo series ever. Or go with Wolverine #1-74 from 2003 to 09. Whoever you’re into honestly. But perhaps a good place to start for X-Men comics this decade would be the Schism event with this reading order (2011) along with Generation Hope #1-17 (2011-12). That can lead you into Uncanny X-Men #1-20 (2011-12), into the Avengers vs X-Men event.
Guardians of the Galaxy comic books typically involve a lot of sci-fi Cosmic Marvel mess which low-key bores me so I generally avoid all that, but, the Annihilation event back from 2005/06 was pretty good, and seems like a good starting point for all that space shit. Here’s a reading order for that.
Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, but there’s no way I’d start at Amazing Spider-Man #1 from half a century ago, you know. When I was reading the main series, I started at #500 (from 2003), saw it was the third book in a 3 parter, and so went from #498 on up. If you wanted more recent, you could maybe just start at Superior Spider-Man from 2013 and read the 33 issues of that (which happen to be some of my favorite Spidey comics ever).
For female superheroes like Carol Danvers or She-Hulk, here’s a post for Carol comics I made a couple years ago. Like that post says, Ms. Marvel #1-50 from 2006 to 2010 is where I started on her books, before she became Captain Marvel.She-Hulk is my 2nd favorite Avenger, after Spider-Man, I started off with She-Hulk #1-12 from 2004-2005. Then her next series, She-Hulk #1-38 from 2005-2009.X-23, Laura Kinney, I really enjoyed her comics, particularly X-23 #1-21 (2010-12). If you like Natasha, Black Widow #1-20 (2014-15) started off well, I didn’t finish (not because it was bad, I just got busy)
You didn’t mention this group, but the Runaways comics are great starting comics also. #1-18 from 2003 to 2004. I haven’t watched their TV show on Hulu but it’s allegedly pretty good too.
Back to where I mentioned Avengers vs X-Men, you could also start off at another large event like the first Civil War or House of M. I can’t say characters are always written very well in character during large events like that, but you get to see tons of different characters you might not ordinarily come across, and there are lots of tie-in comics which lets you get a taste of what a character or team’s comics are like, and you can branch off from there however you want.
Anyway, there are tons of comics, and you can really start anywhere you want to, nobody’s judging you. I’ve been pretty behind for the last couple years on comics, so maybe there might be a better starting point for you some time in the last year or 2, but this should be fine. Have fun!
