nanami kento likes to be on time to everything. but when you're pressing kisses to his lips, his nose, his cheeks, he finds that he doesn't quite mind running late this time. after all, it's to meet gojo, so for all he cares, the white haired sorcerer can wait for an eternity as he indulges in your love. his hands rest on your waist as you stand between his legs, humming to yourself as you help to straighten his tie and press another kiss to his lips.

"i'm going to be late," he murmurs, but you don't miss the way he chases after your lips, searching for another.

your hands run up his chest until they're resting on his shoulders and you roll your eyes fondly and say, "you don't seem to be in a rush." it's the truth, but really, how can he be in a rush when you're looking at him so sweetly, holding his gaze as if daring him to be the first to look away. he pulls you closer instead, curling his fingers around you as he hums nonchalantly.

"i'd much rather be here with you," nanami admits. you feel your face warm at his words, so simple and yet said in that signature low voice of his, laced with all the love and adoration he holds for you. he's never been the best with his words, and you know this. without having to say it, you know exactly what he's saying.

nanami kento expresses his love through his actions. he swears to love you in the flowers he brings home everyday after work, and in the morning coffee that he brews as you sluggishly climb out of bed after him. he seals his promises with the slow kisses that you share in empty classrooms of tokyo jujutsu tech, as if you were both still in school, young and chasing after one another but too afraid to make the first move.

"you know i have to get to work too," and yet you don't make an attempt to pull away form him either. "i promised shoko i'd buy her a coffee." nanami hums and you can feel the way his fingers start to gently press into your clothes, subtly pushing you towards him. he doesn't have to say it, but you know that he wants you to indulge him just a bit longer. a glance at the clock in your room has you sighing softly.

"kento," you say softly. he savors the way you say his name, searing it into his memory as he fixes you with a knowing look, a smile tugging up on his lips as he tilts his head just barely.

"one more, for good luck?" he teases. you huff out a sigh, knowing that he'll ask for another, and then another, and before you know it, both your lips will be swollen and eyes glassy as you're rushing to leave home.

he chuckles, as if reading your thoughts. "i'll need all the luck i can get if i'm meeting with gojo." you hate to admit that this time, he has a point. in the back of your mind, you wonder how long it'll take for nanami to pull out his phone and send you a text, asking you to come save him from the sugary eccentric sorcerer who's roped him into training one of his new students.

"for good luck then," the kiss you give is chaste, far too quick for his liking and he doesn't care if you laugh at the way he sharply pulls you back in. the kiss he presses to your lips is searing and you nearly stumble forward had it not been for your hands immediately moving to grip his shoulders. you lose yourself in the moment, hands wandering just as his do.

it's only when the sharp ringing of your phone cuts through the room that you pull away to reach over to see shoko's name on screen. she doesn't even give you the chance to greet her when you pick up, instead opting to say, "i hope you're not sucking faces right now."

"if you're upset about your coffee running a bit late, i'll buy you another one tomorrow," you reply fondly. nanami huffs next to you, eyeing your phone as if contemplating grabbing it and tossing it across the room so he could pick up where you left off.

"i'll hold you to that," shoko sighs. it's silent for a beat before she speaks up again, "hey nanami, gojo's been texting me nonstop. he said you're not answering your phone." the sorcerer in front of you mumbles something under his breath as you bid shoko goodbye, promising to bring her coffee soon.

"i suppose that's our sign to go," you step out of his grasp and nanami nods as he tucks away his phone in his pocket. already, he's thinking about coming home and making dinner this time. he's thinking about what flowers the corner store might have today when you pat his chest and go to cup his cheek.

"have a good day my love," you smile at him. and in every silly cliche way possible, nanami's breath catches in his throat. this is what it must feel like to be in love, the kind of love that the books you ask him to read try to describe, but never fully capture.

"i'll see you later," he says softly, already leaning towards you, "text me if you need anything." you both hesitate, go to pull away, but fall back into one another for one last kiss before you go, your giggles still echoing in nanami's mind as he turns to go meet gojo.

nanami's always liked to be on time, but for you, he'll make every exception.

魈 : scars ft. adeptus xiao

scars form such a unique composition of the skin, every laceration is particular, resulting in a sculpture that's distinctive and irreplaceable.

in times of halcyon, you'd managed to convince xiao to show you his scars, multiple scattered across his arms and torso, some almost faint enough that they began to blend in and fade away, as if the scars themselves were trying to hide too. you'd trace your fingers softly over them, creating patterns and shapes on his arms to connect the ends and beginnings.

they told a story so fascinating as if whispering directly in your ear all the secrets that make up the history of today's liyue and, at some extent, they do. though to you, his scars are more of an element of his body you're willing to show admiration for every single day, begrudgingly making him warm on the cheeks while he scolds you for being nonsensical. sometimes when you go off track, xiao feels dizzy at the moment you start glazing your fingers over the green markings on his shoulders. more often than not, he disappears with the wind and you can do nothing but chuckle.

under your sincere gaze, xiao feels small. as if learning how to walk, he begins to see life in a different lens; the lens of an artist, a lover, a human whose brief lifespan allows them to appreciate the tiniest things. he had never come so close to a mortal before, always scared of unconsciously bring them harm, however your ambition to stay by his side against all bad might make him a little soft, he might put down his walls only a little bit and let you peek over the top into all the mess of emotions that encompass his existence.

once again, in the comforting moments under the big night sky, he feels bare next to you, like he's laying down everything he is just for you to see, even if you're not looking at him directly and just gazing at the stars, he feels calm. for a minute, as ephemeral as it may be, he feels free.

notes. got this idea before fontaine update, it took me a bit to recover after actually seeing him lmao

once upon a time wandered mythical beings on the vast lands of teyvat. they breathed life on this giant planet, making it flourish beneath their skilled hands. and in return, teyvat gave them a home, a place to live. a perfect symbiosis, making sure everyone was content. 

but then teyvat began to change. gods descended on this magical realm, and where gods rule, mortals follow. with the mortals came war and suffering and teyvat became weaker. with the sudden weakness came death. extinction of many mythical beings followed closely. 

only a few could save themselves, finding a new, uncorrupted energy source. most followed celestia’s call, which only resulted in the most bloody war in teyvat’s history. but few, and not many remain today, have found a solution and put a stop to their own, unnatural death. 

they found an anchor, binding their souls together and thus becoming immortal. celestia greatly disliked them, for they’re not in their control. but they were busy finding their seven archons and so… and so you’ve bound your soul with one of the last remaining dragons on teyvat, your mortal soul now unable to pass on. 

he was neither god nor adepti, nor did he follow anyone’s call. the father of many souls, most of them no longer of this world. his heart has long grown cold, all thanks to the corruption seeping the lands. but when he found you, a bright-eyed mortal with the gentlest heart he could imagine— his icy form melted being so close to your warmth, shiny smiles and bright laughter. 

your ordinary, mortal life suddenly changed, now the mate of one of the last remaining dragons of teyvat— the fated mate, many believe but you know better. your partner for eternity bound your souls together to save his own life and make you immortal in the process. it isn’t something you wished or even imagined, yet you have to make your peace with it. after all, he’s something akin to a soulmate, bound together, untouchable by death. 

the people of fontaine once knew of their protector, the last dragon in their nation and his mate. but this knowledge slowly does out, he ensures of it. now you’re nothing more than a fairytale for children, just as he is. 

because he knows war is coming soon. the last war has killed so many gentle souls, taking his almost as well and the rest are enslaved, in celestia’s greedy hands. if his enemies would know of you, would know about the sin he committed—

this is the reason, he reminds himself once again, why no one can know of you. because you’re his, the dragon’s greatest treasure. and everyone knows, how possessive dragons are of their collected treasures. neuvillette will make no move to correct them, that you’re not only his greatest treasure but also the one who owns his heart. 

(nobody can know of you, because they would take you. he knows it, how could they not? you’re the gentlest and most righteous soul he knows, so full of love and forgiveness. in your arms he finds solace, when his grief overruns him once again. you don’t judge his tears, instead you stay by his side and never leave him. he’s yours and you’re his, now and forever.)

notes. welcome to my first kaeya work. it has been sitting in my drafts for ages, all because this man deserves absolute perfection! this work is part of the astronetwrk egb dear lord send help-

you and kaeya meet when your family moves to mondstadt. adventures were part of your daily live, but ever since your father had been hurt by a group of hilichurls…

so your parents decided to move back to mondstadt, where they grew up before deciding to travel the world

to you it didn’t matter, why should it? you were still able to run freely with other children, playing outside and simply enjoying your childhood

it slowly changed when you got older, suddenly having more responsibilities. you always thought your family would return to being travelers, but your parents truly settled down

in the end, you decided you wanted to become a traveler, an adventurer as well, all on your own. your parents were supportive, but they didn’t want to let you go just yet

and so you signed up to the knights of favonius, where you met him. kaeya alberich, a fellow talented knight. unlike you, he had a vision but that didn’t matter

it became your ambition to be so good, a force to be reckon with with your favored weapon, that he would finally notice you

you wanted him to see you, to compliment you, to take you out on a date, maybe even kiss you, hold your hand while whispering words of love, you wanted him by your side-

not that you knew it, but he noticed you a long time ago. how couldn’t he? but he feared rejection, the past scarring him emotionally and now he‘d rather be alone than fearing another betrayal, another broken heart

and so time passed, the both of you nursing an aching heart, aching for the other to finally come near but you never did

in the end, you left mondstadt for the first time, alone with nothing but your backpack and weapons over your shoulder

you return, of course, after several months of traveling and a life full of adventures. earning your money with commissions, fighting monsters

you’re proud when you come home, having collected both scars and stories, you tell your parents and your friends

but you don’t dare to near yourself to kaeya, who is now a cavalry captain, standing proud and tall. his intense gaze makes you flush and you turn away, unable to keep eye contact

„why am i like this,“ you ask yourself and can’t fine a good answer. well, besides that you’re a coward

in the end, it’s your friend who forces you to talk to him. a bet, which you lost, and now you’re marching up to him, trying to be confident but in the end you stutter out your confession, with shaking hands and a burning face

it‘s his soft kiss on your cheek that stops your stuttering, and he gives you his softest smile, uttering his own confession

„will you think of me, when you’re away?,“ he murmurs close to your ear, the both of you stargazing out in the fields. the wind around you lets the leaves in the trees whisper, and the moon shines down on you but all this doesn’t matter, now that kaeya is close to you, with you, here, peacefully right besides you.

„i will think only of you.“ you answer him, and turn your head.

„and i will send as many letters as i can.“ you take his hand and press a kiss on the back of it.

„only to return to you as fast as i can.“

these promised you held, always returning into his waiting arms, returning to the one man you love.
