For My Mentally Ill Witches

I had an epiphany today when I was outside in the Sun. (Go soak up some rays!) The way our brains process information and interact with our environment is a very natural process.

A lot of the ways our brain decides to process information is to combat natural dangers like weather and predators.

Mental illness (in all its messy ness) imo is a way of your body protecting you. It is quite literally not a fault of your brain. I think a lot of us hate our diagnosis because we can’t conform to capitalism, but there are things to love about our different abilities that neurotypicals will never understand.

Ultimately, when your down bad, breaking down, or on the ledge. Remember YOUR ancestors and guides love you as is, and that is the only rational behavior. Your mental Illness and specific needs does not make you unlovable. Your body is making logical decisions based on your environment (a white supremacist capitalist patriarchy that makes life quite unbearable).

Don’t let therapist, doctors, family, or friends convince you that you are inherently wrong or incapable of beautiful things. Your presence alone is special and teaches your peer’s compassion and different ways of thinking.

Your mind is beautiful no matter how complex, misunderstood, dark, or unbecoming

Day 30,

I really did not like this day but at least my butt looks juicy. I am grateful that I have people I can rely on to show up for me, that things are going in my favor, and that even when shit gets so hard that I don’t feel like I’ll survive it, I still do. That is all.
