Random-Ass and Super Rare Personal Post

There’s no big reason for this. I/We’ve had several cats over the years, but I don’t know how much longer we’ll have our current count, and I wanted to commemorate them while they’re all here. Basically pet loss fucking sucks, and I’m feeling sappy. Also this is more for future-me than anything else, so sorry if this gets a little verbose.

The newest addition, Tinker. 1-2 years old.

I literally rescued him from a tree this past October but he officially became a part of our family in February. He’s long af, is very high energy, and likes to hop to places he doesn’t belong and open doors he shouldn’t.

This is Leo, 2-3 years old.

He’s the one that’s technically “my” cat. He’s really feisty and playful, and he doesn’t like to be held or carried. But he loves attention, especially lap time; and he likes it when I cup my hand under his head while he sleeps. He also loves french fries, and dangling string toys.

This is Barney, aka Barnabas. 7 years old, and no, he and Leo aren’t related, shockingly.

He’s the snuggliest, cuddliest, sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. As long as you’re holding him he’s tolerant of most any position you put him in. He has a penchant for stealing seats and trying to pilfer sips of tea, he’s very inquisitive, and is prone to fits of jealousy. He stands up and stretches tall for pets, particularly when you’re making coffee, and he has a really cute, almost effeminate meow. Also, he likes kpop, and his bias is Baekhyun. UN Village is his favorite. 😂

This is Abby, 17 years old.

I found her and her three siblings in an outbuilding in 2005, as newborn kittens. But we only wound up keeping her and one of her sisters. She is literally the hissiest cat we’ve ever had; she doesn’t like strangers, and she doesn’t like being approached too quickly. But she is insanely patient when it comes to getting pets; she’ll sit and stare at you for almost a half hour if she thinks she’ll get love. She’s also our Halloween kitty, because she has the ideal spooky posture. And if you so much as stroke her back she’ll lift up into the touch. Back in the day she would flop over for belly rubs, and even now if you pick her up she’ll arch her back and snuggle into your face so you can scratch her tummy. Her face is always curious, and she has a sweet, chirping meow. So despite her angry reputation she’s actually a big sweetie pie. Plus she’s able to frighten dogs literally 10x her size.

Finally, this is Lil’ Bit, also 17, and Abby’s sister; the only siblings we’ve ever had.

Lil Bit is why we took the two girls in, because an animal attacked her and left a nasty open wound on her neck that got infected. She needed peroxide rinses for weeks. The scar is still noticeable there now, and she loves to be scratched in that spot. She’s the loner queen of the lot. She has one room that she resides in, as you can guess by the difference in her picture, and only rarely does she venture out to say hi to people. Back in the day she would almost never meow or make any sound, except for a really cool purr she has that sounds like a popcorn maker. But after our cat Boomer died she picked up his habit of yowling into the night when she’s upset. She’s also one of the few cats we’ve had that expresses love with kisses and nips. And if she sticks around for pets, or deigns to grant you lap time, consider yourself one of the chosen few.

That’s it. Maybe someday I’ll do a big ol’ pet master list, but this will do for now. ❤️

I love the Ghost Hunters AU and I really want more of Salem. Especially Salem with the Milkovich siblings.

🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 thank you. ive always wanted a black cat named either princess or salem and i thought it would make sense since its a ghost hunter au (even tho i skipped over all the ghost stuff so my post wasnt a million words long) with terry not around i feel like the milkoviches would love playing with animals. Salem is a very adventurous, people-loving cat! you know, the kind of cat people say were a dog in their past life. of course she loves the gallaghers too! even carl makes a point to be nice to her (after, when she was a kitten, ian beat him up for making a joke) but the milkoviches dont really get to show affection ever, so they love getting to play with her and scratch her lil belly and give her treats they stole from the pet store. they all adore her but ofc after ian and mickey get together and he comes over to the gallaghers a shitton, mickey becomes her 2nd dad. he goes to the top of her favorite people list. nobody else plays with her the way he does! hes not afraid to get a little rough, but he knows whats signs to look out for when a cat is not playing/irritated. shes still young and she loves playing!! imagine toddlers who like getting thrown around because its fun, shes like that. she gets kicked out and put in a different room when they fuck, and she uses this time to get in as much trouble as possible, knock shit over, and annoy anyone else in the house. ALSO she LOVES liam!! they literally grow up together and fiona teaches him how to treat animals so by the time hes like 5, she moves from sleeping with ian to sleeping with liam

i imagined ian and mandy meeting at the same time, so when salem is 2 that would be s3 ish. when he first found her, ian had just started his job and scrounged up every penny he could find to take her to a low cost clinic to get spayed and vaxxed. other than being skinny and dehydrated (and ofc separated from her mom as a kitten) she was in surprisingly good shape! now shes so used to being spoiled by everyone! ian LOVES taking care of others and being of service so he really found a home in Salem, treating her like his kid and giving her the best life possible. i definitely think once he gets diagnosed with BD, he pays (with mostly mickeys money lbr) for her to be his emotional support animal and takes her to as many pet friendly places at possible!

like i said she becomes kinda the mascot of the ghost hunting youtube channel they eventually start. its not something they see as a career or anything, they do it as a hobby, but they gain decent attraction and make extra money on the side from ads and a few brand deals. ofc Salem is the reason everyone watches the channel 🙄 she's in pretty much every video, and they chose her as their icon bc 1. black cat spooky duh 2. she brought them together 🥺 3. she really does show up A LOT in videos, especially when they're not urban exploring/hunting and at home recording the historical backgrounds and debriefings for each location. also yes they do urban exploring as well, thats mainly mickey and mickey and whatever milkovich wants to tag along and graffiti an abandoned building. imagine a combination of The Watcher and Dan Bell (omfg now im imagining them doing Another Dirty Room???? 😭 they would be so offended at paying money for rooms worse than their own back in the southside) but with less production value

Games I think the strawhats would play and how I think they would play them (I didn't proofread this sorry):

LUFFY

Happy Wheels:

-He would be laughing constantly. He would think anything with this kind of physics is hilarious

-He would accidentally stay up until like 4am playing it and he'd laugh so loud that the crew wouldn't be able to sleep and would have to come down and physically drag him away from the computer

Stardew Valley:

-I don't really think he would care about or understand the plot, but I think he would manage to build an insane farming empire where he has billions of gold

-He has 1,500 hours on one save file and when the crew asked him about it, he said he was just trying to beat the game

-Nobody had the heart to tell Luffy that there is no ending to Stardew Valley

-Usopp just really loves adventure games. He likes that he gets to feel brave and strong in these games even when he doesn't irl

-His fav games would be The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Pokemon Legends Arceus

-Had so much fun with the unique weapons in Skyward Sword and definitely took inspiration from them when creating his own

-Loves the crafting aspects of BotW and Arceus.

-Dedicated to completing the Pokedex and getting 100% on ALL tasks. Chopper asked to play with him and Usopp just gave him an unplugged controller. Chopper was just so happy to be playing with Usopp that he didn't even realize that he wasn't doing anything. Classic lil brother

Graveyard Keeper:

-It's like Stardew but with zombies, alchemy, cannibalism, and the middle ages. I feel like the spooky aspect is more than intriguing enough

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

-Robin is actually so good at Majora's Mask. She's played through it so many times that she could speed run it, but instead she chooses to 100% it every single time

-She loves it for the lore and the music more than anything

-Franky, Luffy, and Usopp love to watch her play it, because she always talks about the lore in detail and the boys love the story telling

-Franky cries everytime he watches her play it bc of all the depressing storylines. He wanted to learn more about the game on his own, so he could chat with Robin about it, but the first piece of "research" he came across was Ben Drowned and he thought it was real, so he tries to suggest that Robin plays other games instead because he's scared it'll happen to her

Animal Crossing New Horizons:

-He's so used to feeling like the animal among the humans, so he enjoys being the human among the animals

-He mainly just wants to befriend everyone

-He like that Tom Nook and the nooklings are actually Tanuki, so that way NOBODY will get him confused for one - even though he plays a human in this

Any of the pregnant Elsa doctor games:

-Chopper just feels like these are good practice for him so he doesn't forget any of the medical techniques he's learned

-Robin has to frequently remind him that that's not the purpose of the game

Luigi's Mansion 3

-This is Chopper's favorite "horror" game

-He gets so scared every time a ghost jumps out

-Always runs and hides from the ghosts instead of vacuuming them up

-Had Usopp fight all the boss battles for him because he's too scared

-The second he gets just 1 star, he tries to take out all the cops instead of running away. Gets busted in only 15 seconds.

-I feel like this one is self explanatory. He gets to cook, while getting the much needed validation that he never got for his cooking during childhood

-Tries desperately to keep this guilty pleasure a secret from Zoro - only Robin knows about it so far

He's also spent a ton of money on all of his discord kittens. Most of which are just Nami and her alts. At least he's happy?

Halloween Prompts

lil comp of prompts involving anything halloween, so monsters, trick or treating, fall/autumn, pumpkin carving, etc.

A character being really into beast/beauty stories, definitely a monster fucker. so it's a real surprise to their friends at a party when instead of the werewolf, they're drawn to a striking phantom of the opera costume. and boy, what a costume, they can see how intricate it is, the fine fabrics, porcelain mask, and heavy cloak. and their masked interest fits the character so well, elegant speech, piercing eyes, and a commanding aura. the only thing left to do is to see if their singing was up to par as well and it's absolutely no surprise to their friends when they announce that they're leaving the party with the phantom. cue a night a bashful fumbling, kisses, cuddling, a lack of clothes, and passing out. come morning, everything's hazy and they're cuddled up next to the phantom, who... well the mask fell off in the midst of last night and.. they didn't notice how pale their poor phantom was. and cold, nothing some breakfast wouldn't fix though. (phantom is not quite human, i kind of lead towards a vampire bc it's easy but more interesting takes could be: demon, alien, a beast cursed to be human (haha see what i did), ancient god, etc.)

pumpkin carving contest that's streamed like a gaming event, with no less than 3 judges with criteria based on: craftsmanship, creativity, and composition. there's also two categories: classic and artistic, classic being a little finicky, wherein contestants have to keep the generic face of the pumpkin, artistic being no holds barred, they can make a picture of the mona lisa for all they cared so long as it was good. it's intense, it's competitive, and it's between like 6 friends in their college dorm trying to prepare for halloween as they stream it on instagram live. it's got all the dramatic commentary and hilarious camera pans to the action though, think masterchef kind of commentary.

just everyone sharing a mug of pumpkin spice latte around and one of them gets really flustered because they like someone else in the group and all they can think is 'indirect kiss' also some banter about whether or not pumpkin spice is overrated, the best season, best halloween movie, and just empassioned speeches about each argument

trick-or-treating late at night and one yard has someone running out to the trick or treaters to scare them. a bunch of college kids go and one of them scares easily, tripping and falling on the yard and being super embarrassed but the person doing the scare is super sweet and worried. the scarer takes off their mask in hopes of calming the other down and the person who fell just, stops breathing because oh god they are,,, ridiculously attractive. and now the person will never be able to look them in the eyes ever again because the absolute total mortification and they both live in this neighborhood, oh no. how unfortunate.

put one prompt under the keep reading for a brief mention of animal abandoment, so skip on along if that's not something you want to read

a black kitten found a little bit after halloween, injured and in a ditch. would love to see a bunch of college kids naming the kitten something silly like 'moony moon shoes' or 'ellie, short for skeleton' so keeping with the spooky vibes but a lot softer. and would just love to see a bunch of peeps doting on this poor kitten, coming together to try and provide supplies. the kitten becoming the resident stress reliever and they all just chill and have fun.

i think this might be my longest headcanon post yet!

Halloween headcanon for the family

the timeline of labd took place in summer of this year so this halloween is their first one as a little family! patton was eager to suggest to the others that they make it a family halloween party where both boys are little and they can have some more childish fun!

virgil is nervous about it, he really loves halloween but he is easily frightened by horror and jumpscares and its a lot worse when hes regressed. and even though he trusts his family a ton hes worried they'll accidentally put on a scary movie or have spooky decorations that will scare baby him, so he's worried he will ruin the party by being a crybaby

however patton and roman are both so so so excited about having a child friendly halloween party and logan has been researching family halloween activities that are toddler friendly and vee is also a bit excited despite his anxiety so they all agree to it !!

costumes:

originally they all wanted to have a family group costume theme!! but roman and vee's interests are so different when they're little

whatever roman suggested was either too scary or it was from a show that was too old for baby vee

and any of pattons suggestions that baby vee liked roman complained of them being too babyish or simple

so instead they decide each little will go as a matching costume with one of the CGs! so everyone gets to match with someone and the littles arent upset

Logan and Vee go as rilakkuma (big brown bear) and korilakkuma (littol white bear) respectively

their costumes are basically just onesies they got from online, just standard onesie but with bear tail and bear ears on the hood and the tummy patch!

As a surprise though roman sews vee a pair of matching mittens for his costume! theyre fluffy on the inside and theyre white and have pink toe beans sewed on!! so they're like paws! and roman made them detachable so vee can have them attached to the onesie but can also wear the mittens without it

SIDE NOTE: this concept post is about how vee loves the mittens so much he starts wearing them a lot of the time when he's lil!

Roman and Patton go as Kuzco and Pacha

roman makes both of their costumes from scratch!! even fake jewellery for kuzco!! he's REALLY proud of himself and so is everyone else!!

During the set-up:

during the day patton and roman bake sugar cookies! and roman does a great job decorating them like pumpkins and black cats! theyre really cute baby friendly designs

meanwhile logan and baby vee decorate the house! logan sticks up paper pumpkin faces and bats while vee sits on the floor in a little play area rattling his giraffe rattle and logan is like talking to him "where should i put this pumpkin sweetheart?" and vee just babbles cluelessly and sucks the ear of the giraffe and logan is like "what a marvellous idea" and hangs the pumpkin exactly where he planned

also they make tissue ghosts!

basically vee's job is to scrunch up a tissue into a ball! so logan gives him a tissue and shows him how to scrunch it and vee does a littol scrunch and giggles and logan takes it (scrunches it a bit more into a ball) and covers it in another tissue and rubber band! then he asks the baby if this ghost should be happy or sad (vee ALWAYS says happy) and logan draws happy little face on it!

when they have enough logan hangs them from the ceiling fan!! and he turns the fan on slow and the ghosts float around slowly and he goes 'vee look at that!'

and baby vee on the carpet is staring at them and then he whines and holds his arms up to mama - he wants to be picked up

lo was concerned that baby found the ghosts scary but!! vee giggles and reaches up to the ghosts and he bats them! like a little kitten! he loves it because its like a baby mobile!!

During the actual party:

lots of fun! logan cut out pumpkin shapes out of orange craft paper earlier and the boys get to draw faces on them!! and then they get blu tacked up on the walls!

and they nibble their cookies of course! very nummy well done roman and patton

but while ro is busy drawing and while vee is busy suckling his cookie and cuddling papa lo sneaks off to set up the main event...

trick or treat scavenger hunt:

there are bags of candy and little party favours (like little badges and bubbles and stuff) hidden around the house!

patton suddenly pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket and gasps! then he announces that the boys got an invitation to go trick or treating around the house by some special guests! at this vee gets a bit nervous and buries his face in papa's shoulder but patton rocks him and roman is really excited!!

so patton hands the invitation to roman and its a riddle! roman has to figure out which room the riddle wants them to go to! roman is a very clever little boy, just ask his mom and dad, so he figures it out and leads them to the dining room! roman runs ahead and paatton carries baby vee on his hip

and in the dining room is logan - but he's not really supposed to be logan - he is still wearing his bear onesie but also now is wearing a big black blanket around his shoulders (its meant to be a cape) and has those really cheap uncomfortable plastic vampire fangs

'welcah to i cashel' he lisps

roman giggles because its very silly and he LOVES silly, especially mom being silly

but baby vee grips his papa tighter. he doesnt know why mama is talking weird or why his mouth looks different and pointy but it scares him and he starts whimpering

papa bounces him a little and whispers that its just mama being silly

logan hates to see ve scared of him so he tries to rectify it 'ish ohay bee ish okay wook ish mama!'

vee looks over because papa and his brother are giggling so it cant be that scary right?

but as logan tries to talk again the teeth fall straight out his mouth with a trail of drool and roman bursts out laughing and so does patton and so baby starts giggling too!! because its just mama!

anyway the game is to convince the vampire to let you have his candy. the vampire says he will only give them the treats if they can name all of the characters in peppa pig

and they do it!! vee immediately bounces and squeaks 'pepepepepa!' and then roman names mummy pig and daddy pig and george and then they get treats AND another riddle!

logan sprints out of the room to shove the next costume on and get to the next room

then roman takes them to the laundry room where the wolf man (logan with dog ears made of socks) will only give them bubbles and the next riddle if they both pet his head VERY softly!

and then they find a mummy in the kitchen and have to unwrap him! roman tears off the toilet paper from logans body and hands it to vee and vee scrunches it up like he did earlier and holds a little bit to his chest and decides its his now - the mummy gives them more candy and another riddle!

the hunt goes on until they find mama in the living room lying on the couch - and he's asleep! (he's not really)

theres a note on his chest that says that mama is under a spell!! and he can only be waken up by a kisses from all his family!! roman giggles and goes first and kisses logans cheek really loudly and sloppy and logan winces in his "sleep" at the wetnes on his cheek and roman thinks its funny

vee is really nervous that mama is under a spell :( so papa says he will show vee how to wake mama up. and patton leans down to kiss logan - logan's eyes open when he's just above him and leans up to meet him in a quick soft kiss on the lips

then its baby vee's turn and he wriggles in papa's arms so patton puts him down onto logan's lap on the couch and vee does his signature baby kiss - he leans forward, gently presses his forehead against his mamas and whispers 'mwah' behind his paci!

and then logan wakes up and says 'oh you saved me!!' and wraps a smiley baby vee in a very tight cuddle!

and when logan gets up he says he is SO grateful to his boys for saving him that he's gonna give them presents!!

For being so creative and clever by solving all the riddles and finding ways to trick the monsters into giving them treats, roman gets a rainbow etch a sketch!

and for being such a brave baby and for being so gentle with the monsters and with mama, little vee gets a squishmallow bat who will always protect him and give him cuddles!

the rest of the night is pretty much jsut roman being really excited and proud of how well he did in leadinf his family to victory and he draws all of the events that happened on his new etch a sketch!

and baby vee is just so relieved that mama is back that he doesnt leave mama's lap and snuggles with his new squishy friend al evening! he falls aslee pretty quickly because it was a busy day for just a little baby!!

Like, I know Dot and Larry both wear glasses (if I remember correctly), so did they just give him an old pair of glasses from them and hope that it was the right prescription? And do the glasses affect Lo in any fae-specific way? 2. What happens when Andy and Teagan do finally visit Lo in Wickhills? Are the people there still hostile? Would they become trapped or does that not happen anymore bc V is in control now? And on a smaller note, how do they react to the husband collection (tbc) (2/?)~M

(husband collection is such a neat thing to say btw) and learning about Logans powers? All their suspicions suddenly make sense, in a way. Though it's probably not at all what they expected... 3. Basically, Andy and Teagan’s first reaction to Logan’s long-awaited admission of not being human is an instant “I FUCKING KNEW IT”

and yes, the trap on Wickhills has been lifted, though everyone is still a little TenseTM around the subject

the first time they come to Wickhills, they’ve maybe met Roman or Patton (probably not both - none of them like to leave Virgil alone once they find out how bad it stresses him out, so Roman and Patton probably only visit Logan one at a time) but they DEFINITELY havent met Virgil

and hooo. HOOO.

Listen. I know Virgil is a soft-hearted bastard. You know Virgil is a softhearted bastard. Andy and Teagan even kinda know that he is a softhearted bastard, because they know Logan, and Logan’s talked about his doting tallest husband, and they know its not likely Logans dating some kind of axe murderer

But Virgil doesn’t talk much (because he’s kinda shy, tbh, but they don’t know that) and he stares a lot (because he’s awkward, but they dont know that) and he’s constantly being trailed by hundred of spiders he coos over like theyre kittens.

He Is A Spooky Boy

there’s probably this. painfully awkward week of Virgil making weird attempts at conversation that are meant to be friendly but probably sound utterly petrifying out of context

and suddenly LOGAN find himself the unwittingly smoother-of-awkward silences, and the funny part is he doesn’t even do it on purpose or realizing its happening.

And Virgil gets that Lil Smile (you know you KNOW what I’m talking about) and and starts like quiet-but-very-intense infodumping about fiber crafts and like. you can be scared of a dude this enthusiastic about kniting you just CANT

All his happy whines and squeals and he snuggles into you

Bubba is blabbering mess

He is so shook and touched and omg his face is so hot

Bubba squeals and whines and hides his face to the point wherw his family bursts in and thinks you hurt him

After being threatened and almost hurt by his brothers, Bubba gets in their way trying to explain in his own way that you didn't do anything

Once they realise he's embarrassed, they ask you why

After you explain, everyone is basically cooing over the two of you. You get very embarrassed as Bubba holds his blushing face in his hands in the corner. Hearts practically hover over his head.

Harry:

Purring? Oh yeah mhm

Honestly doesn't question it at all

Until he notices that you don't always purr unless it's with him

Tests his theory when he does certain things.

Pat played another stream of Donk Souls, back again with Magnum Jr. Stream went on for a little over 3 1/2 hours, so there’s quite a bit to note
