on one hand i want it to be summer because i want school to be over and to just be able to play rhythm heaven n shit but also summer is the worst season because it is Extremely Hot. summer break should be in winter instead. i mean i think it's in summer break so you can theoretically go outside and play. but who goes outside anymore anyways-

#puppy rambles #granted winter also sucks #fall and spring are the only good seasons #but also school starts in fall #spring is the only good season #summer is so close and yet so far. i long for school to be over already #it is hell and misery. i mean online school is at least preferable to in-person school #... i mean. my school's technically asynchronous but also still requires attendance and stuff #and we're expected to go to the zoom classes. i still don't go to 90% of them tho #cuz how am i supposed to get stuff done if i'm spending most of my time in like half an hour long zoom classes #... and also cuz i don't think i need a zoom class for like. history or something. i'm good at history #history is the only good core class. i mean english is good sometimes #this school year it sucks though it's just reading. i want to write not read #i literally took a young adult literature class last semester because i like writing. and the description mentioned writing #guess what we didn't do at all in that class-

LWJ’s severe lawfulness does get used for humour but it does *so* much more too #We get to establish a strong character basis for the fact *he stands by what he beleives in—unshakingly*#idk if anyone is out there saying LWJ moves alignment; cause I’d argue his code of law simply shifts to something (someone) else #regardless; i love this scene a lot for what it shows about lwj’s character and its also such a good character dynamic #oh I forgot to wish everyone a happy first day of spring (north hemmies) and fall (south hemmies)#may the change in season be a blessing B*) not for me though I have seasonal allergies #ramadan started recently too; Ramadan Kareem to all the muslims passing by this blog!

Do I think that, once we have Seasons 3 and 4, this will turn out to be the weakest season of the show? Yes.

Did I still enjoy this season? Yes.

Did I still think that this season was well-written? Yes.

Did I still think that this was a good season? Yes.

#when i try to think of things i didn't enjoy the only major thing that springs to mind is the cliffhanger ending #and i really did like someone's suggestion of helaena going to aegon after b&c - that would have been stronger #but i think both of those can be blamed on fewer episodes + not being able to edit the script #the main importance of this season was to get everyone to the place where they need to be for the battle-heavy part of the dance #to completely cement the idea that war is inevitable and that NOTHING can be done to prevent it now #and i’m very happy with it!#i love a good character study and this season had that in spades #and for the billionth time i truly believe that this will be the last season of “girlboss” rhaenyra #she’s losing the moral high ground fast #house of the dragon #pro house of the dragon #house of the dragon season 2

Roughly once every four years I ponder the alternate timeline where I didn't get scared and quit college rugby after a single practice

#everyone was cool i was just intimidated coming from softball and karate into a full-contact team sport #after one practice i was like 'this is not for me' and didn't go back #and i do feel this way during most olympics. but especially after watching a bunch of women's rugby yesterday and today lol #maybe this'll be the year i finally get buff. im realizing that i really need to get regular exercise so im looking for stuff to do #I've enjoyed softball a lot this year and last but it's only in the spring/summer (our season just ended)#i wasn't really able to play last fall bc my work schedule gets crazy in sep/oct and i work some weekends #gyms are so fucking expensive and i really prefer having a structured activity to just free workout time #i've tried a couple of apps (just started using a new one that seems promising) but i can never stick to them as well as a team or class #i gotta figure out what sports run in the winter and where the chiller recreational teams are #i do feel like i lucked out with my softball league. it's not so casual that it's a boozefest but not so competitive that it becomes unfun #some of my softball teammates have talked about doing basketball together and like.#im a good sport im willing to try most things despite being fat and slow but i am Extremely not built for basketball lmao #idk idk. i just turned 30 last week and have started having trouble sleeping in the last few months #regular moderate exercise will not solve all my problems but it will probably help #j rambles

small housekeeping update: i've finally made the trek to the mass post editor and added household tags to all my (applicable) bloom valley posts as my wife suggested a long time ago. the format is f: [household name].

i'll most likely rehaul my blog page and navigation to better reflect the current state of my tunglr really soon, but until then this will have to do

#it was interesting to see bloom valley go from just something i started as a spur of the moment thing to my only sims related project #and the rounds go longer and longer lmfao #like. going from one post a season for all households. to one household post per season. to what it is now #and yesterday while playing with the wife we did discuss how it's gotten longer still since winter year 3.#i am currently on the second to last household of spring year 4 #but it's good. i'm having fun. just interesting to see the trend!

I've been working on a perfection ending for stardew and i just found out last night that one of the unspoken requirements is getting all the rarecrows so >:( i never got the snowman one because i hate xmas aesthetics but I GUESS I NEEDED IT TO GET A SPECIAL CRAFTING RECIPE

#im in summer so i need to wait until spring to get the last legendary fish #i literally only need 2 legendary fish and the snowman rarecrow to get perfection #i'm adequate at fishing (enough to not need mods but not good enough to get hard ones without special food)#but i dont really enjoy it so it's always really low on my list #i just want to farm and dungeon crawlllllll that's way more fun #i do want to try to finish some of the skull cavern challenges if i can. and the qi beans if i can ever get it at the start of a season #i already beat the advanced mines so that was fun #there's an annoying enemy in the middle then its fun again

I can’t wait for winter to be over… how was this ever my favourite season??? It’s dark and cold all the time and I never want to do anything because it’s cold and dark, so housework doesn’t get done. It’s dark when I have work in the morning and it’s dark when I go home and I have to deal with frost/condensation on my car and my plants suffer and it’s easier to get sick and heating is expensive and

Week 17/52: April 24th - April 30th 2023 | Abbotsford 🍟

In Abbotsford for work for the next 10 days... this was my week one. Fairly uneventful. Just work, scroll, rinse, repeat. My hotel was the worst... did not have a functioning shower... but otherwise, weather was super warm. Hello to summer weather! Had some really good Church’s Chicken. 2 piece spicy combo with fries and biscuit... and fanta! 🍊
