I don’t like the short Jon hc’s.

i feel like after kunikida’s death his resolve would strengthen more than anything….to carry on his partners dead legacy and serve as the role model kuni was for the younger ada members—the role model he portrayed for dazai himself while he was still in mourning over oda, lost and without purpose trying to fulfill a dead man’s dream. kunikida’s morality and unflinching resolve so fervently reminded him of his dead friend, which is why he latched on so hard initially. it’s in dazai’s nature to latch onto people in order to understand humanity better. it’s what he did with chuuya and oda in the mafia. it’s what he did with kunikida. so being forced to fill the successor’s shoes will be a difficult task but it will also be so valuable for his character arc.

on the other side, kunikida’s death being so reminiscent of oda’s could be what breaks him—knowing it was his own plan that doomed his partner. that he has yet again failed to save someone from their fatalistic heart. he could go back to the mafia bc he knows he can suppress his emotions there; also because running and defecting is how he tried to escape the previous death. perhaps he’ll run again.

it’s dazai so it’s honestly hard to tell what can and will happen. all i know is that kunikida’s death will definitely be a turning point in his life, one of the most major events yet. it’s no small ordeal.

Complaining abt Suicide Squad yet again but the fact that they have Waller exposing the alien community to space racist attacks and talking abt how she got to her position through deceit and being a terrible person and stuff is just. Ahsfiwueh JUST SAY YOU DONT KNOW WALLER.

Anyways literally the 3rd mission of the Squad ever (and the first framed as smth Waller picked and not orders from above) was the Squad discrediting and stopping a rogue vigilante who was only arresting POC and funneling white people into white supremacy groups (of which he was the most prominent member) in SUICIDE SQUAD #4. and it's explicitly framed as this mission being personal for Waller that she's hiding from the government bc its illegal like. Guys. Please why are we having her incite (space bc comics) racist attacks now

Also the whole "Amanda got her position through deceit and being a terrible person" NO. she KEPT her position through being shitty and playing complicated political games!!! She wasn't always that way like there is a difference and it is IMPORTANT ppl PLEASEEEE. In Secret Origins #14 we learn Amanda's backstory and she used to be a normal, caring person! Like even after she entered into working in government and politics she wasn't automatically morally bankrupt like please people. She was originally given control of the Squad by Reagan (*sigh* 80s comics...) to distract and get rid of her because she was so successful at pushing progressive social policy in Congress. Acting like she's this static pillar of evil is such a waste of her character and so fucking uninteresting and disrespectful to her arc it drives me MAD.

Like I am NOT saying Waller is all sunshine and rainbows, she fucking SUCKS (said w love <3) but like there's a human being there. It's a progression, she has a character arc like please, DC, please!!! They've fucked up Waller so bad and made her so opaque and uninteresting she can't even be the protagonist of her own story for fucks sake!

Like I don't know how many times I have to scream it until DC hears me or remembers but WALLER IS THE MAIN CHARACTER OF SUICIDE SQUAD. ITS HER BOOK. yet right now she's a cutout to be used as the villain wherever the writers please. Even in her book we get none of her perspective really displayed, no exploration of her thoughts with any kind of understanding of the role she traditionally has played and was made to play in the story.

The only good and decent one piece (centric) YouTuber is @melonteee (please watch her character analysis videos they’re seriously so good) she is genuinely amazing 🫶. but again, most of the yt one piece fandom is gross, I don’t go on twt so idk how they are there, I love the tumblr fandom and the Pinterest fandom, they’re soo much more competent and kind and amazing😭😭

So something interesting in this picture ( yes all the ducks ) have you really looked at the background , at the decorations and furniture and walls .. 2 things are very prevalent, eyes … Eyes everywhere even on the duck and they are all seem to be looking down / at him, not only that but whole room is made of sharp edges , it’s all whimsy themed and pretty with the deep golds and red and royal purples but there is very little actual softness in this room.

Most things end in sharp looking points and edges , it’s a thinly veiled threat, the room gives off vibes of trying to pass off as silly and fun but you can sense the unease the danger just underneath it .

Which I think is a great little hidden treat into Lucifer’s character, yes he’s silly and sad and making ducks but he feels he has all eyes on him constantly / his many actual eyes due to him being an Angel) and he’s actually Dangerous .. you can dress it up to look harmless but he is still a very dangerous being .

There are a lot of sharp corners and when objects in the room, look at his tools — 2 saws 1 large blade like thing and 1 sharp looking Pilar set, these tools are used to create things yes but they create by cutting into /destroying something / they are dangerous and can cause damage if not handled properly .

And again with the sharp edged theme of the room the spikes holding the tools are curved to look like claws and seem to be impaling the wall they are on .

It’s neat to note that he only has 2 paint brushes one hanging and the other tossed to the floor somewhere - paint brushes are tools that create / not so much destroy .

This could be me just rambling about nothing but I do think this is hinting at Lucifer’s character as a whole . If he’s not handled right he can and will be dangerous .. he’s capable of building amazing things but he’s also a dangerous tool in the wrong hands .

Maybe as the seasons go by we will see his room/his work room soften up as he looses his hard edges and possibly opens up more ?

ouhghgggg im not even american but ur election is stressing me the fuck out. im canadian and i live in a very conservative small southern town and the amount of people i've seen with trump 2024 hats here is ridiculous. mocking our liberal prime minister is widely accepted and even expected and if i don't laugh and nod when someone does it i don't even want to know what will happen. i don't even know why people hate him or if he's genuinely a bad pm because all of the opinions of the people around me are tainted by bigotry in various ways so i can't actually trust what they say about him and news outlets often don't help. i am supremely lucky that both of my workplaces are generally accepting that im on hrt. if trump wins and starts enacting horrible policies and going after trans people, people in my hometown are going to start calling for our government to do the same. my province enacted one a while ago that would require teachers to tell parents when students are trying to go by any names or pronouns in school that don't match their legal records and it still hasn't been turned over despite pushback from teachers.

i fucking hate how much influence the usa has over other countries. it effects canada a shit ton because we're right next door and a good chunk of people in my hometown actually have family in the usa. if trump wins its gonna suck for the whole world which is why i reblog so many posts about it. his influence has made my grandparents intolerable towards me and my identity. i do not want that man affecting my country and our politics more than he already has

Like obv i knew they weren't revealing who "Steven" was and i knew dropout wouldn't use "ai" or other stupid stuff. but like. idk. if Eric Wareheim had been on dropout before and was a known quantity I'd get it but like. who is this guy? why should i care about him being a surprise?

This is kinda the same problem i had with a lot of dirty laundry -- a lot of it feels v targeted to who people in LA and actively going to a lot of standup in LA. But at least in dirty laundry it's still fun to hear wild stories

And ig he was (according to wikipedia) a guest voice on the simpsons and has a netflix special but like. that kinda comes with the territory of being a white guy

Anyway, I was thinking Steven could be played by multiple Dropout ppl, like as a committee or just passing it around or smth.

And they've gotten actually famous ppl on game changer/make some noise before! Tony Hawk, a bunch of ppl in Game Changer: Battle Royale (tho even then i hadn't heard of most of them), and Wayne Brady. Idk I'm just disappointed they went with someone who is clearly a character in their own right but not like. famous enough (or dropout-related enough) that everyone watching would know them

Anyway. I thought the majority of the episode was 10/10 but the last like 30 seconds kinda killed it. overall I'd give this episode 7/10

so my school it’s great wtv they hv us all make e-mail signatures we’re going over this tomorrow as in it hasn’t been talked abt much yet but my first hour teacher releases her slides by unit so i can see them

and as i was looking over what we’re doing tomorrow i see we’re gonna review email, email etiquette, email signatures, ect

and part of the suggest email signature was pronouns

now i’m non-binary or genderfluid wtv so i usually go by they/them for ease (they/he/she is what’s in my bio but like for ease yk) thing is most people in my school aren’t super nice about trans things

like my area, even tho we’re really close to chicago, is quite conservative like it’s scary

so ik putting they/them might get me harassed but i don’t wanna not put pronouns cuz then i look like a bigot who “doesn’t hv pronouns” and like neither is good especially bc i’m not out to my parents but i feel like they wouldn’t mind or care and i feel like it would be kinda hard to catch onto as well
