disclaimer: there will be spoilers, I will tag them but this is a book from 30 years ago that I am desperately trying to finish. I am very ADHD and this helps me do that. Also, it’s my first read thru but I am somewhat familiar with the story and what is going to happen, probably not enough to not be surprised tho. Happy reading!

Love how they do behave like a DnD party but we get the narration that no, NPCs are listening and reacting to this very suspicious and concerning conversations happening in the middle of the street. 

Mat: (summarizes the last few weeks for him)… & where the hell have you been? Rand: Perrins a what?!

Hurin didn’t smell any Trollocs and tbh I’m not sure there ever were any. Sry Rwnd my guy, I still support most of your wrongs.

Amazing! Verin: looks at the kings letter “well this is trash” burns it. I love her.

Oh oh right. So, uh Barthanes has the horn. That’s what the heist is for. It is a literal heist. I mean, this book has almost everything. We got to a heist, we started with an adventure novel, survival, several other things, and now also a heist. I probably should have mentioned -or tbh realized- this earlier. 

Oh right the giant ass buried statues. Which are apparently the largest of the sa’angreal which can be used by channelers and seem very powerful. The one we’ve seen can only be used by men. There’s two in total. Hmm… I’m sure they couldn’t be important at all. The womens one is on Tremalking. Wherever that is. Apparently they were created as weapons which were never used. So. Probably not important at all. /s

I am sure rn Rand is terrified but this is overpowered by him suspecting the ancient statutes are (somehow) part of the plot to control him and still trying to convince himself he is not the Dragon. Mmm mmm nope. This is all part of the plot to frame him as a false dragon. Nothing else. 

Well what a relief they must be used in tandem to Break the World but one wonders how much damage they could do alone?! /s (the big ass sa’angreal)

… you need to be very powerful to use them. Whose that powerful? No *widely* known man, and several women including Moiriane. No worries until the Dragon proclaims himself. *stares off into the distance suspiciously close to Rand* surely no Aes Sedai would help with that tho right? (Yes sure Verin. Wait did she lie…? No… no I think not)

Perrin, Rand knows less than you think you do. By far. And you admit to not knowing much. I mean technically Rand knows a lot, but tbh I feel like he’s too in denial to actually use that information. 

Another great chapter. Bands back together. Verin is here. They are going to do a heist in a nobles house for the Horn which rests on Rand’s shoulders, and his impeccable half-hated new wardrobe of three very nice coats. More letters were burned. Everyone is loosing it a little bit imo. Absolute a+’s all around.

It was a bright day that day -- the sunlight had flooded the corridors and drenched the grounds in golden hues. You’d nestled yourself next to a tree near the water’s edge, only to tug at your hair in fits of rage and stress due to the massive amounts of homework you still had on your plate. You’d figured it would be a peaceful location, except your stress had made it not that way.

But he did.

It was a bright day the day you’d realized you loved him.

His touch had jostled you -- partly because you weren’t expecting it and partly because he’d fallen into a fit of raucous laughter when you’d jumped up in surprise. “You git, you’ve frightened me!”

He'd sat himself down next to you and poked you near your ribs. “Smile, won’t you? It’s a gorgeous day,”

“Yes,” you’d agreed breathlessly, peering out across the lake at the mountains reflected against the water. It really was beautiful. You’d turned back toward him and began teasing. “So, have you come here to help me with my work, or have you something else planned -- like, bothering me, for example?”

“Oh, certainly the latter,” he’d chuckled before waving you off. “You should know better than anyone that I’d never go out of my way to help anyone with their work.”

You’d rolled your eyes; you knew it was true, but you adored teasing him anyway. Adored the way he looked. The way the corner of his eyes crinkled when he’d laugh, the slight dimple that appeared on his cheek when he’d smile, the way he’d scratch at his hair a bit whenever you teased him so.

“Even so,” you’d replied, closing your spell book and placing the bit of parchment you’d been staring at for the better half of two hours back inside your bag, “somehow I still let myself hang around with the likes of you.”

“It’s because you love me,” he’d offered, grinning giddily from cheek to cheek, “and because I’m your absolute favorite person.”

You’d scoffed at his confidence; but would he really be George Weasley if he wasn’t confident? You shook your head and peered out toward the lake; your skin felt like it was on fire, for how had he known that he was, in fact, your favorite person? You’d shoved him playfully, “I wouldn’t go that far.”

“Even so,” he’d replied, pulling you to your feet before flashing you one of those award-winning, heart-churning, insides-melting grins of his, “you’re still my absolute favorite person.”

It was a bright day the day you’d told yourself that one day, you’d marry that boy, who’d clumsily grabbed you and tried as he might, while you laughed and yelled, to push you into the water you both were so very close too.

So how did you end up here, at his engagement party, with a smile on your face that was fraudulent, with a man on your arm that was your husband, but was not the boy in question, and with a heart so broken, you wondered if you’d ever be able to properly piece it back together?

The sight of him alone made your insides squirm; he was so painfully happy, with his beautiful fiancé on his arm, but you swore his smile brightened when he locked eyes with you.

“Can’t even begin to tell you how bloody happy I am to see you,” he said as he pulled you into an all too familiar embrace. The one that felt like home. He lowered his voice and whispered, “If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have any of these other nutters here -- just you, and my family.”

You pulled away and cleared your throat rather audibly to suppress the tears that were burning the back of your nose and throat at the sight of his askew tie. Same old silly boy, he was. You fixed it as you told him, “I reckon your mother wouldn’t be too happy about that, George.”

He wiggled his eyebrows at you. “I reckon you’re right.”

You and Fred were to give speeches -- or, stories, really. Speeches sounded so bloody pretentious. Just stories about anything and everything -- perhaps the time the two of them had been caught by their father setting a trap to catch Santa at the young age of four when Fred had accidentally caught George instead, or the time George had clumsily stepped on your feet at the Yule Ball during a dance, resulting in you icing it for the rest of the evening, and him sitting beside you, telling you the dumbest jokes in the history of the universe, just so he could make you laugh and forget about the very dull ache coming from your toes.

How were you supposed to get up there, in front of your husband and George’s family and friends, and tell a story about your very best friend in the entire world without your feelings seeping through your lips with every word you spoke? Every truthful word, filled with love and adoration and fondness.

You’d always been a good liar, you reckoned. Hopefully it would come across today.

How did you both end up here?

George, with a beautiful woman who adored him so, but was never on the receiving end of one of those award-winning grins he loved to give. Not like the ones he gave you, anyway. And you, with a husband you did truly love, but not as much as the man in question -- the silly boy you’d always loved, even when you didn’t know it.

“You going to be alright?”

Fred’s voice was rough in your ears; the words alone sent a chill down your spine. You noticed goosebumps appear on your arms and hoped you could blame the wind. He was peering out at the guests who were taking their seats at the tables underneath the autumn sunlight next to the Burrow. Red, orange, and yellow leaves covered the landscape. It was a perfect fall day. “Of course I am, Freddie,” you replied, sipping your champagne, “why wouldn’t I be?”

He turned toward you now, and cocked his head sympathetically. “Come on. Don’t do that with me.”

“Do what?”

“This,” he motioned back and forth between the two of you. “Pretend. You know I’ve always been able to read you like a book.”

“I resent the implication,” you teased, praying the small grin you were able to offer would be enough to shut him up. You were wrong. Nothing was ever able to shut Fred Weasley up. You snorted playfully. “And you? Read a book? I must be dreaming,”

“I resent the implication,” he echoed you, and you watched as a bright smile split his face. He turned again to peer out toward the crowd and began nodding politely at familiar faces. To you, though, he said, “I know how you feel about him. It’s obvious, isn’t it? Maybe not to all, but it is to me. You can’t fool me. I knew it then, at school, all those years ago. I knew it at your wedding, when you said “I do” to the wrong man..” Fred’s voice drifted off, and you picked absentmindedly at your wedding ring. Fred grabbed your arm gently and turned you toward him, so there was no way to avoid eye contact. His face was stern, his lips a perfect, thin line. “And I know it now.”

You nervously looked from person to person, hoping that Fred would just drop it, because there were so many people around. When you met his gaze again, you were aware that there was no way to get out this without admitting to what Fred already knew. In a low voice, you said, “What the hell am I supposed to do, Fred? I’m married, and he’s engaged. Am I just supposed to pull him aside and tell him that I’ve been mad for him since we were sixteen? That we’ve both made mistakes and need to fix them? That I pretended it didn’t hurt when he met her, so I went and found myself someone and fell in love and got married anyway, despite my own overwhelming feelings for him I chose to suppress?”

“Yes,” Fred said flatly, as if it were obvious. “Married? Engaged? Bloody hell, it doesn’t matter. Not when you’re letting the love of your life pass you by.”

You folded your arms across your chest and tried to ignore him. Tried to ignore your heart. But the pang you felt when you watched as George kissed his fiancé was more painful than anything you’d felt in your entire life. Including that time Umbridge had used her special quills on the three of you in one particularly dreadful detention.

You took a deep breath and wet your lips. “You said it yourself, Fred,” you started through clenched teeth, once you downed the rest of your champagne and twirled the empty flute between your fingers, “the love of my life. I’m not the love of his.”

Molly began to clap her hands and ask that everyone take their seats, for George’s two best mates in the world were about to embarrass him and there was no more time to waste! Fred cleared his throat, downed the rest of his champagne as well, and grabbed you both two refilled flutes from the table next to you. “Actually, Y/N,” he started, handing you more champagne and looking as serious as he’d ever been in all his life, “I never said the latter.”

You couldn’t believe the chill those few words sent down your spine; instead of shaking them off, you listened to the muffled sounds of Fred beginning his speech (for blood was pounding in your ears) and focused your eyes on the boy sitting down in front of you, already bowing his head in embarrassment, and wondered if you’d be able to make it through your own stories without George and your husband realizing what Fred had apparently known since you were tiny little sixth years.

You pulled your speech out of your purse and ran your fingers across your own handwriting, feeling a pull at your heart when you read what you’d been mulling over for the past few months. You wondered if the words alone would tell everyone exactly what they needed to know.

You’re my absolute favorite person.

Yeah I have a whole tag for it on this blog under #she-wolves. I really enjoyed it and I thought it was very well-written with some beautiful descriptions and great work describing the situations of various ruling women while being empathetic to them but not making them out to be these perfect little angels who never did any wrong. I’m also very fond of Wolf Hall (though I’ve only seen the BBC adaptation and read the first book, hoping to get the second and third this winter), and I want to reread it soon-ish.  I’ve also just read Elizabeth I: A Study in Insecurity by Helen Castor, which is very short compared to She-Wolves but is still a great look into her reign as queen. I’m also a fan of The Crown which is a bit weird since I have no interest in the contemporary royal family outside that haha. But I just like it a lot. I really enjoyed Outlaw King with Chris Pine and Florence Pugh although to my knowledge it’s probably not very historically accurate haha I just liked their performances. I watched The Tudors just for the campiness and because I love Natalie Dormer in everything, I found it enjoyable. I made it one episode through Reign and then had to turn it off because I couldn’t take anything seriously; everyone was dressed like they were going to prom circa 2010 and all the silly name changes and over the top writing, I just couldn’t hack it. I liked Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette a lot I know it’s not accurate I just think it’s a beautiful film. I liked the Elizabeth movies with Cate Blanchett even though after reading Elizabeth I they are a bit cringey in terms of how they adapt the history haha but Cate Blanchett makes up for it! I used to be obsessed with The Young Victoria probably mostly because of Emily Blunt’s performance. I have seen a little of The Borgias and I know none of that is probably accurate but the costuming is so beautiful! And finally I apologize in advance to her fans but I loathe nearly all of Philippa Gregory’s books and the TV adaptations of them with a passion. I have a whole thesis statement about how I honestly think the way those shows portray women has trickled into the ASOIAF fandom and influences how people write fics and how they depict women in power interacting with one another.

Having a boyfriend who was a hero was hard. Especially when you didn’t know he was a hero.

It wasn’t like the beginnings of a relationship with Damian had been easy, to begin with. At first, you had been pretty sure he hadn’t even liked you as a person let alone have romantic feelings. Yet here you were, almost a year after prom. Going on dates and having out.

He had even kissed you a few times.

Even called you his girlfriend (that was a story for another day).

So here you were, coming up on your birthday. It was a big deal to you. Not really so much the birthday it’s self but the plan. While your parents had planned this much more “mature” idea of a birthday Damian had come up with the best idea for both of you.

First, you would start with a full breakfast in the Wayne’s private Jet while Alfred flew you guys to Disneyworld. There you guys would get as much goofy Disney shit as you could while getting line hoppers and even a backstage tour of Animal Kingdom.

You had both kept it a secret from your parents who thought you were still going to the family gathering they had planned. The whole idea had stemmed from you complaining that the LAST thing you wanted to do for your birthday was spent it with your extended family. But your parents had “guilted” you like they always did by saying that “family came first”

Damian had proclaimed that you were allowed to be selfish one day a year and demanded you to tell him what you had always wanted to do.

And that was how your plans had come about.

Really it was a joint effort stemming from the fact Damian had never known much about Disney before you. Something you had quickly cured. (His favorite princess was Jasmine).

Now Damian back to your problem. You had dealt with Damian’s disappearing before. Valentines Day, your 5th month anniversary, that time he said he was going to take you on a night time cruise across the Gotham Harbour.

He always came with flowers the next day mumbling something about family business. You always brushed it off. He came from a large well to do family, it was just part of you dating him.

But never in a million years did you think he would miss this day.

You had woken up bright and early before your parents waiting eagerly for him to come pick you up. Dressed up in your Disney gear full of butterflies of excitement.

Sitting on the couch you waited, and waited, and waited.

Until your father came down asking what on earth you were wearing and to go up and change.

You texted him.

You called him.

No response.

You couldn’t tell anyone what had happened and had to just go through the motions of your birthday with your family. Most of them ignoring you after giving you their hollow “Happy Birthday” a few nosey relatives asking about your mysterious Boyfriend. Many more interested in what college you wanted to go to.

You smiled and politely answered all the while wanting to cry.

What the hell happened.

After nothing, fulled with frustration you sent off one last text.

“I don’t know what’s going on but forget it. Don’t call and don’t bother coming back. Obviously, this relationship isn’t as serious as I thought it was.”

He knew, he knew how important this was to you. And he didn’t even bother to let you know he wasn’t coming? Forget it. Forget him.

Then turning off your phone you snuck off to be alone for a while. Hiding from all the passive aggressive comments and prying eyes. It wasn’t like anyone would really miss you anyway.

The party came and went. You watched as cars pulled away from your bedroom window. Watched the sunset, watched the moon rise. You just wanted to sleep it off but you couldn’t seem to get your body to relax. So you just laid there. Unsure what to do next.

It was well into the night, maybe even early morning when you heard your window open. Bolting up you reached for your lamp. Quickly you pulled it from the wall raising it over your head. If Gotham City had taught you anything it was smash and ask later.

“Wait, Y/N it’s me!” You froze, the light of the moon emulating Robin who stood in your window.

“I… Robin? How do you know my name?” you stuttered still unsure what to do.

“No, It’s me,” Robin said taking the mask off.

“D… Damian?”

“I… I’m sorry I missed your Birthday. I’m sorry I left you with your family alone. I… there was this gang and dad needed my help but. I tired to get out of it but they needed me.”

You stood there dumbfounded as he spoke.

“Alfred said this was it, my crossroads. I’m sorry I missed this. I know how important this was for you.”

You cut him off hugging him. Burying yourself in him. Tears you didn’t realize you had been holding forever fell from your cheeks.

“I thought you didn’t care about me.”

“No, No I love you,” Damian said taking your head in his hands, “Y/N I love you and I never want you to feel like you are not an important part of my life because you are.”

You spent the rest of the night talking. Him telling you about his mother and past, catching you up on him becoming Robin. About the missions he went on that had made him miss all those moments together. Moments he hated missing.

You told him you were there for him. You understood why he had kept this from you but you also wanted him to be honest with you from now on. You needed to know what was going on. How he was feeling.

And you came up with a plan. When his other life needed him he would just text you R. That way you knew to hang tight. You knew it wasn’t you. 

You both sat there on your bed talking until the sun came up. Just spilling all the secrets you had been holding. Talking about dreams and goals. It was as if telling you that he was Robin had opened the floodgates and he could finally really be himself. It was like a part of him that was missing you didn’t even know about was suddenly there and everything else made sense.

“So,” Damian said glancing at the morning light dancing through your window. “Disneyland?”

You laughed jumping up, “I’ll get changed and meet you outside.”

Cover Requests (ft. Kim Taehyung) Part 1

Hey everyone! This is my first fic here back on Tumblr! I hope you enjoy, and thank you @daegukkie for being the amazing catalyst for this Drabble that took way too long sry

→ Genre: fluff, bakery coworkers!au 

→ Taehyung/Reader → 1.2k words → Summary: adventurous and weird Taehyung keeps asking for shift covers and basically he comes back with proof of these adventures and its weird, amazing, and you wanna get to know him

But every time, he ran into the bakery panting like he ran a mile, with a pair of ridiculous pink sweatpants with the tag still on them, or another time with grease stains all over his face and arms, or even with a handful of candles he bought from “an old granny on the street down there because she looked so cold and I wanted her to go home,” you got more and more confused and curious about this peculiar boy and his adventures.

Your phone dings and the familiar name of “KIM TAEHYUNG” pans over your home screen. Sliding your finger across the screen, the device opens up to the app your boss decided to use to organize your shifts at the bakery.

In jumbled type, the cover request opens up with “hi. pls help cover will pay back with love. went shopping for shoes and found hurt kitten thanks”

The words are all lowercase, and barely coherent. Like usual. This was the 6th time receiving such a request since you started working at the small bakery across your college campus 4 months ago. Each time Taehyung sent a cover request, it was something completely random and out of the blue.

You had seen, “sry lost my pants at movies will be there soon” to “currently forty min away, waiting for friend to jumpstart my car pls cover thx.” Each time, the requests were ridiculously exaggerated, to the point where there was a time when you doubted any of these were true. But every time, he ran into the bakery panting like he ran a mile, with a pair of ridiculous pink sweatpants with the tag still on them, or another time with grease stains all over his face and arms, or even with a handful of candles he bought from “an old granny on the street down there because she looked so cold and I wanted her to go home,” you got more and more confused and curious about this peculiar boy and his adventures.

He would always come back with such props or appearances and always have a short 2 minute story on what happened, short quips that had you always on edge and in wonder at the diversity and variety in one human’s life compared to your boring routine in college. It was your little secret, regarding your interest in Taehyung, and his adventures.

It just so happened that five out of those six times he'd sent such requests, you were either studying in the bakery or finishing up a shift. You had your fair share of requests as well, especially during midterm and finals season, so you were always willing to go the extra step to cover your coworkers. It was just coincidence however that the recent ones you had been covering were...well his.

You reply to his cover, agreeing to get to the bakery an hour earlier than you had expected. You pack up your things in the last class of the day, and as you slip pencils and folders into your backpack, a message notification pops up on the screen.

4:52 PM

“HEY ____!!! This is Tae from work; I just wanted to say thx for always covering me! ur the best I will repay u someday be there soon bye”

You chuckle and ignore the message, knowing that if you respond he probably would be too caught up in his mini adventure to notice anyway. After biking over and changing into the cute apron, you settle yourself at the register and begin frosting the batch of cupcakes the chef had just taken out of the oven. An hour into this you hear the distinct obnoxious jingle of the door that signifies not a customer, but someone a little too familiar with the store.

He's not sweating or huffing this time, but instead is wearing the biggest smile of triumph and holding a brown box in his hands. Catching your eye, he smiles even wider (how does he even smile so much???) and literally skips his way over to the register.

Leaning his entire upper body over the counter, he shoves his face extremely close to yours and lets out a low, “Hey, thanks again for saving my ass! Wanna know a secret, Y/N?”

Blinking, you step back and smile. “Hey Taehyung, and sure?” The sentence ends with a question.

Winking, he puts the brown box onto the counter, and takes a look around the bakery to make sure no customers or workers besides you two would be able to see the contents of the box, before removing the lid and slightly tipping it in your direction.

Inside, with a ragged but fluffy blue towel and a small toy, was a tiny kitten, scared but warm. You gasped, eyes widening at the sight, and Taehyung clapped a hand over your mouth and hurriedly closed the cover of the box. “Shhhh! If boss sees that I brought her to work, he’ll flip. I didn’t have time to go home and drop her off, also because she’s so scared.”

You’re still a little caught off guard, but quietly and hesitantly ask, “What are you gonna do? Do you need any help?”

You didn’t understand how, but his mischievous boxy smile got even bigger as he gestured for you to lean in to hear his whisper. “Y/N, I knew you’d be down to help! How about I take over the rest of the shift so you can get some homework done, but can you wait for me to finish in an hour and watch her? And at six, we can adventure to the vet together and I can buy you a meal and drop you off home after?”

Leaning back, you take a sec to think about his idea of an adventure. Taehyung’s huge eyes stare back at you under his dark brown fringe, some parts sticking out messily most likely from his rushed state. He was such an interesting figure, from his adventures to the way he doted on the small kitten. And it didn’t hurt that he was really cute. Really, really cute.

Live a little Y/N, you thought to yourself.

Clearing your throat, you nodded meekly, untying your apron. “Okay...I’ll be over at the back table doing my work.” He breaks out into a huge smile that almost splits his face in two, and bounds back behind the counter to take your apron. As he hands you the box, he leans down and give you a quick peck on your cheek.

Your face heats up with a ridiculous blush and the act makes you a stuttering mess, “Wh-wha-what was th-that for?”

Smiling with a mischievous smile again, but this time his hand comes to stroke the crown of your head. “That was for all the times I didn’t get to thank you for covering my shifts on such short notice. And this-” he leans down to your other cheek and lands another quick peck, “-is for just being cute.”

And then he turns away to clock in, and begins to take an order from a customer who had just walked up to the counter.

You’re left holding a box, with flushed face and jumbled mind. What does that mean? Does that mean he’s interested, or is he just being flirty? He just kissed me, twice!

As if hearing your thoughts, he looks over at you, winks, and gently gestures for you to go take a seat at the table with the kitten. Nodding, and trying not to make too much eye-contact in consideration for your poor heart, you slowly plop down and set the box gingerly by your side.

Laying your cheek against the table to cool it down, you peer down at the kitten through a crack between the box and the lid. The kitten just peers back up at you, cocking its head in some sort of unspoken question. You sigh, shrugging back at it.

Guess you’ll have to wait another hour before this adventure starts.

1. favorite anime?

oh no we're already starting off with a tough one….. it depends on the genre honestly there's comedy shounen shoujo horror adventure all types ;;;;; but a few of my top anime are akatsuki no yona, hxh 2011, jojo, barakamon, assassination classroom, cardcaptor sakura, gatchaman crowds, code geass (season 1 mostly…… season 2 is pretty garbage), gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun, daily lives of high school boys, sakamoto desu ga, shouwa genroku rakugo shinjuu, cromartie koukou, gakkou gurashi, haikyuu, mob psycho 100, food wars, tsuritama, and love live (that's a huge list i know i just have a lot of love in my heart;;;;)

2. your worst anime?

ooohhh that depends if we're talking like shows that are just bad on their own or shows that have a ton of hype but are really just mediocre so the praise makes it even worse.. i mean i could go easy mode and say sao but i'd say some of the worst anime i've ever seen are dokuro-chan, valkyrie drive: mermaid, overlord, and kakumeiki valvrave. some overhyped shows i just found myself never caring for and am now sick of are snk, shigatsu wa kimi no uso, shirayuki-hime, kuzu no honkai, and tokyo ghoul (im sry yall they're all either basic or boring)

3. do you read the manga that goes along with the anime you watch?

occasionally, especially if the anime ends on a cliffhanger or just has more to it, though if i don't have to read the manga to get full enjoyment out of it i usually just don't

4. most favorite genre?

oh boy i like them all if they're done right.. but i've always found myself liking shounen the most just cus there are a lot of real gems in the shounen genre that people forget about or ignore (one piece, hxh, jojo). i also like suspenseful anime like mirai nikki and a lot of western-inspired shows like baccano or cowboy bebop

5. least favorite genres?

uhhHHH oh boy. well i generally dislike most shoujo if they have a focus on romance, and i also hate about 99% of all harems (yona and amagi brilliant park being the exceptions). just anything that i've seen a million times each season that i really don't need any more of

also pretty much any attempt at making a shounen that falls completely flat and everyone knows it (looking at you fairy tail)

once again a hard question cus there's a ton of anime out there and tons of those anime have HUGE casts.. i have to say i really dislike eren, mikasa, and levi from snk (but i do love most of the other characters hahaa;;), uhh let's just say any character from any show i listed above that i dislike

8. qualities you like in a character?

i always like characters that look tough but have soft interiors, and also characters that are very loyal to another character OH and just generally really sweet nice wholesome characters.. it sucks that those are the ones that usually die tho ;;;;;

9. short or long anime?

either. but if an anime runs too long and overstays its welcome then i really start to dislike it (bleach and naruto tbh…..) and on the flip side some shows are too short and don't have enough time to do all the things they wanna do and it just leaves the show feeling incomplete even though they had great beginnings (yoi, death parade to an extent, akuma no riddle). so both have their pros and cons but i say any show that goes 2 cours is generally gonna be a good way to go!

i definitely go to anime first and foremost, one because it's more easily accessible, and two because i have severe dyslexia and it makes it hard to read when there's no color on the page (doesn't help that manga usually chooses fonts that are not very dyslexia-friendly :c ) but if i like the anime enough i usually end up at least trying out the manga, even if the anime wrapped up the entire story

11. how do you choose the anime you watch?

well i watch a lot of seasonal anime now so i just go to anichart/mal to see what's airing but i used to hate them so i would choose based off recommendations from my sister, things people say on the internet, etc. i didn't and still don't really have many friends that watch anime so it's harder for me to find non-seasonals but my mutuals do keep me busy by reblogging/retweeting shows i haven't seen

12. skip or listen to intros/outros?

i listen to it if i like it!! but if it's not very catchy or pretty to look at i will skip. oh i also skip if i'm watching a really long show because the time i spend watching the intro could be put towards binging one more ep

13. how do you cope if your friends or family don’t like you watching anime?

well if my friends don't like me watching anime i don't know why we'd even be friends! sure my friends don't really watch it but it's not like they disapprove or anything lol. and some of my friends will watch the occasional anime if i highly recommend it. as for family, well my sister is the one who got me to watch it in the first place, my mom encourages it, and i don't think my dad really acknowledges it as anything other than another interest of mine.

14. do you stop an anime midway if you don’t like it?

always.. i'm bad about that lol my dropped list on mal isn't even the half of things i drop. i'll even get all the way to the last few eps of a show and then drop it cus it's so mediocre (overlord, i dropped it at the second to last ep) or i will stop midway because i feel like i don't like the characters or plot enough to keep going (akame ga kill and shirayuki-hime) or i'll really enjoy a show for a bit and then it'll do some shitty thing and i'll drop it there (kakumeiki valvrave). but then there are some shows that are just so bad or dumb that i need to watch til the end to see how bad it is (valkyrie drive: mermaid)

22.  if you could have a superpower, what would it be: I’ve been adamant about this for several years. I would choose teleportation. Just think how much money you’d save? No more plane tickets, no more paying for cars/car insurance…. You’d also never be late to anything, ever and your commute time would be zero! And if a bad guy is near you you can just teleport away!

23.  animation or live action: Depends on the subject matter. If it’s more fantasy I’d say animation. If it’s more entrenched in drama I’d say live action.

53. which social media platform are you most like yourself on: Tumblr in terms of personality I suppose, but since I try to not post everything about my life on here there are a lot of things missing that don’t really come through. I’d say facebook simply because almost everything about me is uploaded on there, by one person or another. I’ve had my facebook since I was in 7th grade, so it’s really documents my life almost. I’m not really into any other social media other than those two. So in conclusion, tumblr in terms of personality, facebook in terms of being able to open up more about my life.

54. What are some of your passions: I am in love with the brain. I think that it is akin to the deep ocean or the universe - there are so many things we do not understand about it. It also houses our personality, every thought, memory, emotion. Every little nuance that makes us human. Yet it really is just a collection of water, lipids, proteins, and neurotransmitters, yet somehow in all of that we have developed a complex sense of self. Are our personalities really separate entities, or are they just a complex construct that our advanced brains have superimposed to make sense of the chaotic word that we live in??? Basically I want to research some sort of neuroscience/biopsychology related field. 

I also love genetics for similar reasons… I find it fascinating that some sort of elemental coding for our functioning lives inside us. 

I’ve also found a new passion for writing as of late :)

Something I’ve kinda realized now (after what…. 6 years now?) is that I keep coming back to this website bc it’s somewhere I can vent and now it’s at the point where I feel compelled to vent here and nowhere else. I mean, yeah, there is the fact that this is literally the only piece of Internet space I have that isn’t connected to ANY irl people at all but? I don’t know if this is healthy anymore tbh, like…. I have a best friend?? I have someone I call best friend and someone who calls me best friend but how do I call her that when I don’t even tell her half the personal shit that goes on with me all the time? I’ve been questioning myself for years and years if I had depression ever since I found out the thing existed?? I have so many untold stories and pent-up feelings abt my mother and my friends and my self-image that I just,,, keep totally locked up and away from everyone I know irl. I feel comfortable telling internet strangers so many things but lately I’ve been wondering: well, why? Why is that?

I feel ok telling tumblr followers just bc people don’t interact with me. I don’t talk to people on a regular basis here, I don’t reach out, people don’t send me asks and I just? Stay isolated. I’m not even saying this to blame anyone like that’s literally just a me thing. God knows how many text posts I’ve ever scrolled past lmao. It’s hard to reach out and get personal on this site.

But then it’s like, well, okay….. why is THAT then? Why do I need to know I won’t get a response when I talk about myself? Do I only feel comfortable talking abt my feelings when I can pretend I’m not actually talking to another person, that no one’s actually there to listen?? Because I can’t even handle talking about my most personal feelings to strangers that I know won’t judge me so it can’t just be the fear of being judged holding me back. Ik it’s there lmao I’m just saying it’s not the /only/ thing, ya know? I want conversation with someone I’ve known for a while and feel totally comfortable around but I know what the fucked up thing is? I don’t actually have a person like that. It’s the strangest thing, it’s like internally engrained in me - oops no can’t talk to ppl that don’t know you they can’t fully get it if they don’t actually know you irl…. but at the same time i would rather actually choke then ever tell an irl person abt anything ever?? The closest I’ve gotten were fucking terrifying and only cause they happened to catch me in the middle of being too upset to care??
