Welcome to the Best Hat Tournament of 2023! We're here to celebrate all the wonderful and wacky hats this world has to offer, and decide once and for all, who's got the raddest headwear on the internet.

Rules!

No real people, YouTubers included

Helmets are allowed, but will only be added if there are some empty spots (or if they're rad enough)

You character should wear their hat a majority of the time, or be decently well known for their hat. I'm not interested in characters who wear a hat in only one scene (unless of course, it's rad enough)

Crowns and hoods count! Head bands do not! (Obviously unless it's rad enough)

You can submit as many characters as you like, but please do not spam any character. Spam won't be counted and may disqualify a character.

Only submit through the Google form, no submissions in my askbox will be counted

And a heads up: I don't plan on answering many asks publically or adding much to this blog other than polls and updates after polls begin. Anonymous asks will be turned off after the tournament starts for this reason.

Welcome, one and all, to the very probably third or fourth ever betrayal bracket!

What is this bracket for, you ask? Simple! We're collecting all of the top 10 32? 48? 64? anime anything betrayals, and then pitting them against each other! All of your favorites. All of your least favorites. Love that guy? Send them in. Hate their guts? Great! Send them in anyways! However, before we get started, of course, we have to cover:

What counts as a betrayal?

A betrayal is, roughly speaking, any time a character acts against another character they claim to be allied with. A betrayal must be willful and conscious to count- if a character is under effects of mind control, being possessed, etc, they are not betraying anyone they act against. However, characters who have been manipulated into acting against their close ones do, for the sake of this bracket, still count- It is still them acting against their friends.

A character needn't be a villain to betray someone! If a hero or a protagonist infiltrates a villain group, pretends to be one of them, and takes them down from the inside, that is still a betrayal. Heroes can betray villains, villains can betray heroes, villains can betray villains, and heroes can betray heroes. Nothing is off the table here. Except, of course, for things that are off the table.

So what is off the table, then?

Any real people. This means the guy who scammed you on Animal Jam, the guy who said they would trim your armor on Runescape, any and all politicians, so on and so forth.

1a. If they're funny, I might consider it. What's funny? What's not funny? We'll see. As an example, though, I might be inclined to include, say, Brutus, of stabbing Caesar fame.

2. Spamming submissions. Just... don't. If you do, I'll steal your porch, ㅤokay?

3. Please, please, PLEASE when you're submitting someone, explain ㅤhow they have betrayed their allies. I live under a rock, so I most ㅤ ㅤlikely don't know. Yes, even that one. Yes, even the obvious ones. ㅤYes, even ones that are in my header. Thank you!

4. That's it! I might limit submissions from a single source if one ㅤㅤ ㅤsource has too many submissions, but for now I simply want to see ㅤwhat we can get!

How will the matchups be determined?

Great question! Matchups will be seeded by the amount of submissions each character gets. The characters with the most submissions will be pitted against those with the least submissions during round 1. This means that the first few rounds will largely be landslide victories, and not very suspenseful. However, it wouldn't be nearly as fun if Reigen vs Sans had been the first poll of the sexyman bracket, would it? We want the real competitions to come later, that's where all the suspense comes in handy!

This is a bracket tournament where YOUR favorite fictional rat characters can duke it out to find out WHO is the most beloved fuzzy little guy amongst all. WINNER TAKES THE CHEESE, LOSERS GET…uh…stale breadcrumbs or something.

Nomination period will be indefinite until I have enough to fill at least a 32 size bracket, or until I get overwhelmed, and then I will set a final date!

—RULES FOR NOMINATIONS—

1. This is a RATS ONLY EVENT. NO MICE ALLOWED (sorry)! Please make sure to only submit rat characters and not mouse or other species characters for this bracket. If you have any questions about a character just ask me!

2. Must be fictional rat characters from existing media! Your pet rats will not be allowed on the bracket (but they're winners in my heart). Original characters will also not be allowed. No real people either (idk why you would submit real people anyway, but still).

3. Characters must have names to be considered. Really by this rule I mean no "background" npcs or nameless enemies/mobs from games, etc. Sorry y'all it's just easier for me. Again, ask me about characters you're not sure about!

4. Rat characters from non-visual media (such as books or podcasts) are welcome.

5. You may nominate as many characters as you wish, but please do not submit the same character multiple times!!!

6. Please be civil and nice to each other y'all. Rats stand for love and peace. Also this is just a silly bracket it's truly not that deep <3

Who's a good Dog? You decide!

Alright guys, i know we all avoided this one because it breaks our hearts to watch dogs compete and thus have the possibility to lose, but we need to actually do something about the lack of Fictional Dog tournaments

so welcome one and all, to the Bracket for the Ultimate Good Dog!

Now some of you may note: what IS the system for what constitutes a good dog? How do we know who to vote for during a poll? well it's simple. Which one do you want to get more headpats and treats? that's the good dog you should vote for.

Rules:

Only fictional dogs allowed (mythological dogs ok)

It can be a wierd fantasy version of a dog as long as it's still called a dog (like 'hell hound' or 'Alien dog' are both acceptable so long as they are in-universe still called and thought of as dogs)

Wolves, coyotes, and other wild canines not applicable we're talking domestic creatures here

Anthropomorphic dogs are ok

Propaganda is allowed and encouraged but don't insult other dogs to do it

don't be wierd about this guys, it's a tumblr poll about dogs

deadlines are unpredictable and arbitrary, The Admin is working full time and is doing this for fun
